So here’s a scene I wrote for tEQ, that I know I’m not actually going to use because it was spit balling ideas back when i first got the idea (though the general idea might be my own personal headcanon that never makes it into the plot)

“There’s no one left out there for me.” “What about your son?” She raised an eyebrow and leveled her with a haughty look. “I’ve been here for centuries according to your time, though in truth I have no idea, and I was erased from the minds of everyone who ever knew me.” The fight seemed to leave her as she sat down. “Not that it matters. Even if he could remember me, I doubt he’d want to. And it’s not like I would recognize him anyway.”

i was listening to remember you from adventure time and now i can't stop thinking about raven and her mom.

essentially a version of the evil queen who didn't initially want to be evil, but after signing the storybook of legends, didn't really have control over her thoughts and actions. she's slowly fading into something she's not and someone she doesn't know, and she's worried for what will happen to her daughter — what she'll do to her daughter.

maybe she's writing it down as letter for her daughter one day and it remains locked in her old belongings after she's arrested and thrown into mirror prison. raven finds it years later, after years spent resenting and hating her mother, only to see her mother was once just like her; how despite how cruel and awful she's been to raven, maybe her love for her was real — as least initially. how raven could've turned out just like her mother, unable to resist the powers of the storybook if she signed it on legacy day.

Your tags on the Whiskey/Galahad squared fight got me thinking. I'd really like to see Jack team up with another agent like Tequila. Jack has distance weapons, Tequila has short range. Them tackling a situation together?? So much fancy foot work and fun.

oh those two would WRECK wherever they are. I imagine them causing anime-mc + friend type of damage (tho i still feel like a rifle or gun is still kinda long ranged????? but it def doesn't have a range long enough as a lasso i think)

1. Where were they during the Calamity?

In the Dravanian Hinterlands! If you look down on the map, you’ll see a huge expanse of wilderness below with the thaliak running through it; somewhere down there. He was around 16. the spires took winter base up there because they were wanted in 2/4 citystates in eorzea and by Sharlayan, and it turned out to be clever to hide under the nose of their abandoned city when it became difficult to travel and when work became scarce. they would usually stay put the entire winter, but in my timeline, the Calamity hits early in the season (nov in actual time so yay works4me). All of the older Spires leave to fight at Cartenau and they leave behind Gourd & the second youngest, Teqs (Teq’sae) to hold fort. They watched Dalamud fall from their little hunter’s cabin and Teqs leaves the next morning to find out what happened.

Gourd would have gone with them, but one of the agreements for him to stay with the band was that he was not to fight in wars under the direct alleigance of a nation-state until came of age AND lived his own life for a while. the spires are not typically aligned but they had registered under the ul’dahn banner as official mercenaries for strategic reasons for that particular campaign. So he pretty much stood around in the cold and watched the sky fall for a while 8|…
