Happy 2019! Opening the year by reposting some favorites collected in my recent drawings riso chapbook. DM me for a copy, suggested 10 of your local includes postage and a card with an original sketch, glad to trade also. A digression on this drawing: it’s the cover image so a natural beginning to this run of posts. But natural too in that it’s the drawing that “started it all”. Or specifically started the era of drawing reflected in the book. Do you have drawings of your own that you see as personal watersheds? Same could be said of a story or poem or song or joke: you hit on something that resonates with you, a manner that’s natural and communicative. Doesn’t have to be exalted or perfect or externally “successful”. I remember the gift of the set of pens that were used for this drawing. It was a test drawing really to try them out, made around New Years a few years back, a return to a drawing routine. Not pictured are some lines in the upper left corner testing the contrast of the pen widths and the action of a brush tip.
