Your "Soldiers, Children AU" is taking up a not-insignificant percentage of my brain's RAM. Everything is horrific, and yet all the brothers still love each other so much!

That being said, what Draxum did to Leo is particularly skin-crawling to me. After Draxum took away Leo's ability to lie to or disobey him, did that force some distance between Leo and his brothers? Do you think they ever start to tell Leo something--maybe some little scrap of fun or normalcy they've managed to steal for themselves--and Leo has to cut them short and insist they not tell him, because everything Leo knows is in danger of getting back to Draxum? Do you think that theft of trust reduced their efficacy as a unit?

It would definitely influence Leo's relationship with his brothers and how he interacts with them in secret. He's essentially been stripped of the ability to keep secrets, which forces all of the brothers to either exlude Leo from sensitiv information or try to downplay all secrets into something that can't be used against them by Draxum.

I imagine after a few years Leo would learn how to share the truth in a way that is closer to a lie, but it would take a while to learn and adapt, which would definitly influence the relationships between him and his brothers.

hey!!! i'm doing good, i hope you are as well 💜

i really want to be a sap on main and believe what lisa said (where did she say it btw? i'm so bad at keeping up with/remembering interviews). i really don't see either of them having dated anyone before each other. i think wille might have made out with girls here and there during his club escapades, but nothing too engaging. it might've been more difficult for simon, so maybe that was his first kiss, with wille (imagine that!!!). i'm sure he's had crushes though. i do believe when they had sex after the football field incident that it was the first time for both of them, which makes it all the more heartbreaking, that it was tainted like that.

1. i said this in the first post that i made of her but one of her favourite animals are bears!! cows are a close second (she has a brown cow on her farm who she adores)

2. in my head she has a southern accent. i’m not sure why it just makes the most sense to me so we’re rolling with it! i also imagine she’s not originally from henford on bagley and she moved there when she was about 20 because she has the animal enthusiast trait and so she’d always dreamed of having her own farm with a ton of animals !

3. she has a dog called doobie (who be introduced in a future post) and he’s an old english sheep dog!

Hello seal anon!!! Yes Monster is my favorite manga, that doesn't mean it's the only one, but the mangas that have this rank are the ones that upset me the most

I had read and I also saw the adaptation of Pluto, I liked it a lot but not having followed Astro boy, I don't have all the references, nor this nostalgic factor. However, it was the same for MAPPA's adaptation of Dororo, also by Osamu Tezuka, and I liked the story straight away. I don't know, but Pluto is different. It's a total reappropriation of Tezuka's work (I think with the help of his son), and while I enjoyed it, I didn't feel the same way about it as I did about Monster.

This is purely personal, of course

Monster works a lot for me in terms of landscapes and characters alone. I live in a region of France (the one annexed by the Germans several times) so close to Germany geographically and culturally, so I don't know, the atmosphere in this work reminds me of home.

I started reading 20th century boys but didn't finish!!!!! But I loved the beginning of the work, it had the potential to equal Monster or even surpass it, because the beginning is less... slow? The atmosphere is more original, and I also feel that it's more personal to Urasawa (after all, the main character is a rock fan).

I haven't read Billy Bat, but I'm planning to. I know he has a manga in progress, Asadora, which I also plan to read. I intend to get interested in all these works, but I'll leave myself plenty of time to enjoy them!

hey!! if it’s not too much of a problem to ask, do you use a lot of mods for your rimworld game? i got inspired to boot it up again after seeing some of your posts and was kind of disappointed by how different my playthrough was

I have quite a few mods, yeah. I just counted them all, and there are eighty-seven (87) active mods in this playthrough. Is that a lot? I feel like some people play Rimworld with thousands of mods and would say I don't have a lot, but maybe other people would say I have too many. I don't think there's enough, frankly, but I get stressed adding new mods partway through a game, so I'll finish this colony up and rejig the modlist for the next one.

I also have all the DLC content and stuff if that affects anything.

yes so fallen lovers was originally going to go on to 2011 and cody and randy weren’t gonna start dating until the very end

when cody gets transferred to smackdown, he and wade barrett would begin to instantly bond and they wouldn’t really date, but they’d definitely fuck and be intimate with one another

but as always….. he can’t stop thinking about randy 💔

as i was writing fallen lovers, i realized i didn’t need to keep the story going per my original vision and could adjust the ending to suit the pacing so it would make more sense. i will mourn barrhodes but sacrifices must be made

i know you're a big advocate for parts language and the mindset it encourages, and I honestly love that so much. You, if my memory serves me right, might've been the one to open our eyes to being less scared of being seen as "parts", and that the language is not inherently dehumanizing or anything. I would like to share, for anyone who may be hesitant about the language itself, that we personally still use a lot of people-based language when referring to alters - it's moreso about the mindset than anything, for us. And even then, the mindset may not work for everyone! But even if calling your system members "parts" feels uncomfortable, the idea behind it might still be helpful anyways :D - SAINT of @endless-hourglass

Aww hell yes! I love that I’ve encouraged some folks to try new things.

Nobody should ever feel obligated to try parts language, but it really isn’t the absolutely terrifying, dehumanizing thing a lot of people suggest it is as a blanket statement. Many systems find parts language to be dehumanizing — but many systems don’t! I’m one of the systems who found major amounts of stabilization and so much individuality by seeing myself as a part of a bigger whole.

And yeah — we still use people based language sometimes, too. We still see each other as full individuals! That’ll never change. 💙

Model L, artist Light?

Absolutely!! This is my most recent one! No premise to explain, I think, just what it says on the tin. I wanted it to be a mostly serious fic but I'll share my funniest excerpt, which takes place after Light asks a classmate of his if she knows anything about the mysterious model that shows up at the drawing classes they both attend........... featuring: Light being typical Light re: the women in his life.

“Don’t worry. I’m just asking. I just also wonder where the hell he came from.”

Sasaki was the only girl in his To-Oh friend group who hadn’t shown a hint of romantic or sexual interest towards him. Well, the only girl who met that condition and was also remotely interesting to talk to. Takada was the smartest he had met, but he had seen an implication of something in her eyes and started talking to her less.

Light didn’t like having to reject advances. Sasaki (evidently) didn’t like having to deny interest in miscellaneous nude models. There was some solidarity there. Light liked Sasaki. 

“No,” she smiled, “sorry. No clue. He’s definitely not from uni.”

“No,” Light agreed.

“And he’s definitely not one for friendly small talk.”

“No,” Light agreed more emphatically. 

L didn’t talk. He simply didn’t. And the couple of words he did say were weird as hell.

“But,” Sasaki said conspiratorially. Light almost leaned over to her in an equally conspiratory manner before remembering this was not his sister Sayu, but a fellow To-Oh student that he was on last name basis with, so he simply got a little bit closer. “I’ve heard from Sato,” Sasaki whispered, “that he left on a limousine the other day.”

Light snorted. He couldn’t help it. 

“Sato’s full of it,” he said. 

“I know!” 

The clothes L put back on at the end of every class were always the same outfit, one that did not belong in a limousine in any stretch of the imagination: white long-sleeved shirt. Baggy jeans. Sneakers that, admittedly, looked worn but not dirt cheap. Always unlaced, though. Sato wouldn’t see him leaving in a limousine before he would see him face planting down the stairs.

L was leaving in a limousine.

hello! i was wondering what brush you use on your virtupet pieces they look so fantastic!!

hi, and thank you so much!! i almost exclusively use the default photoshop hard round brush, on the setting that allows for varied line weight based on your pen pressure

my apologies for using photoshop (i know it sucks but its what i'm most familiar with), but the good news is that its such a basic brush that as long as you have a tablet pen that can detect pen pressure, you should be able to find a very similar one!

#its frustratingly not Quite the same as the vector brush that the official neopets artists used in Ye Olde Adobe Flash #or maybe my pen pressure sensitivity settings are just kind of off #so i often end up having to change the shape of the lines by adding and erasing from them until they have the vibe i'm aiming for #'sorry for using photoshop' 'some crimes can never be forgiven' #asks #thank you for your ask!!

While Shang Tsung does seem obsessed with Kuai Liang, I don't think it's exactly comparable to the Sonya thing in 95. Shang saw Sonya as an object, a doll, he even dressed her up.

With Kuai, he seems...more respectful. Shang sees him as a person. Dare I say he cares about him? In a way? He doesn't really put him down or objectify him.

Unlike the Sonya thing was basically a plot device to make her a damsel in distress, this one with Kuai actually adds some depth to Shang Tsung.

At least that's my take on this.

no, I absolutely agree. it's definitely a lot different than his obsession with Sonya in the past.

his offer of teaching Kuai Liang to shapeshift alone shows more depth for him than his obsession for Sonya ever did. like you said, Shang Tsung's obsession with her turns her into a damsel in distress that needs to be saved. but an offer to teach someone the ability that gives him a lot of his power over others? that's not something that Shang Tsung would do lightly (and to be honest, until I saw it myself, I considered it completely out of character).

he legitimately wants Kuai Liang on his side and seems to be willing to do anything to convince him to come along. it wasn't like that with Sonya. he even complains to Bi-Han about it in an intro. he is just adamant and refuses to give up.

The game is an early 18th century fantasy 'age of exploration' setting, where you, De Sardet, a noble of the royal house, and your cousin, a prince's son, are tasked to travel to the mysterious, newly colonised island, Tír Fradí

As the ambassador of your people, you are there to keep the peace between your ally factions, and learn about the native people of the island and their magic. Along the way, you gain companions, learn the secrets of the island, and attempt to find a cure for the plague that is ravaging your people on the mainland

You choose in the beginning to play De Sardet as male or female (which only influences your romance choices), with character image also lightly customisable. You also choose your combat archetype - magic, martial or technical, and can branch out into different ways of play as you gain levels. Companion relationships and equipment can give boosts to some stats and can be the difference between succeeding or failing certain encounters

GreedFall was made by a small studio that REALLY put their heart into what they created, so while sometimes graphics and gameplay can be a little less polished at times, the soul of the story and the characters shine as bright as anything. There are story beats and cutscenes that still blow me away when I think of them

It is a wonderful and relatively short (even doing all quests and side quests) game to play, that has you SO curious about where it will lead to and what you will discover on your journey

I 100% recommend the game to you as a solid, unique, and really special rpg. It is enchanting 💖
