this semester is draining me, dude. don't get me wrong, i enjoy all my classes, but I've hit that part of the semester where it's dragging on and on.

i think i need to sleep for a week, but my spring break already happened.

The boys form flopped lifeless in the smaller girls arms. She clutched his head closer to her chest, eyes burning into Jason. She snarled as the hero took a careful step closer, wrapping her other arm around the boy's upper back and pulling him away.

"Don't touch him!" She seethed, baring her teeth.

Jason raised his hands placidly, worry gnawing in his chest as the cut on the girl's forehead bled further down her face. "I just wanna help..." he tried, taking another step. She arched her back like a cat and he was sure she'd bend ears down flat against her head, if she had them. "I don't need your help!" She bit.

Jason shot a glance down at the crumpled figure in her arms for a moment, brow furrowing. "Maybe not" he breathed "but your friend there does" Her nose scrunched but she didn't talk again. Those hardened eyes softened as she glanced at the boy she was cradling, barely breathing and shuddering slightly on the floor. She bit her lip, that moment of softness flickering back into suspicion as she looked back at Jason. 

Slowly, she unfurled her grip on him, letting his head rest in her lap. Taking the signal, Jason closed the gap, already looking the boy over. He had a similar cut to the girl along his hairline but his dipped down to slash through his eyebrow. His lip was split in two places and there was a nasty bruise blooming on his cheek bone.

The rest of him was worse. Burns and what were definitely gunshot wounds, at least two broken ribs, if Jason had to guess from the mottled swelling along his side, and the worst offender, a gash right up his middle that split into two in the center of his chest, spiking out over his ribs and collar bone. 

His eyes blew wide. W...what the fuck!?

"Did he...!? Has this kid been vivisected!?" He gaped. The girl didn't answer, looking like she was fighting off the urge to smack him and run for it. The fear in her eyes knocked Jason out of his own head. 

He made to pick the boy up "we gotta get him to a hospital." He stated in the most serious, calm voice he could muster. The girl did actually smack him away this time. "No!" She cried, holding the boy protectively again. "N-no hospitals! No cops!" She took a breath that seemed to envelop her tiny body whole, apparently also trying to calm down. "You wanna help, fine but you do it here." It was her turn to make a statement.

Jason growled, more at the situation than her, but didn't fight it. They were probably on the run then. From something pretty scary for them to end up in this state and this child looked ready to claw his eyes out before letting him take the other kid anywhere. 

He grabbed the first aid kit from his bike, tearing it open. Stitching the gash first, best he could, and then suturing the other nicks and cuts. As he worked, the girl watched him quietly. His voice broke the tense silence again as he was wrapping bandages around the boy's chest. 

"He's lost a lot of blood. There's only so much I can do here" 

The girl huffed but didn't answer. Jason sighed and tried again. 

"What's your name?"

She seemed to consider for a moment before answering.

"Ellie"

She finally mumbled, she looked down at the boy.

"He's Danny," she said softly, placing a worried hand on his forehead.

HEY! Ufta, what can I say? I'm just over Elvis.

No, my job has been crazy (I hate it when work interferes with my hobbies, although sometimes I tend to treat Elvis fandom as my main job?) and then also I've been doing a but of writing, and sometimes I tend to retreat into the writing cave and not interact or read as much while I woek on my own stuff. My therapist has called this my need to work on balance, whatever that means. But I have somethings on my mind:

Hi! yeah, everything is fine, sorry for the silence!

I'm in my last year of college right now, so I'm really busy with my thesis! I was originally hoping to get this tournament started before the semester started, but I didnt set everything up quick enough.

I've been thinking about running it during either fall or winter break, because I do still want to do this tournament! I have the bracket made and everything, I just don't have enough time to do it right now
