Hi! yeah, everything is fine, sorry for the silence!

I'm in my last year of college right now, so I'm really busy with my thesis! I was originally hoping to get this tournament started before the semester started, but I didnt set everything up quick enough.

I've been thinking about running it during either fall or winter break, because I do still want to do this tournament! I have the bracket made and everything, I just don't have enough time to do it right now

Have you ever thought who is the JERKIEST and MOST LOVEABLE MEAN BLOND ASSHOLE?? Well then this is the tournament for you!

Rules:

Real people and HP characters are not allowed

mcyt allowed but you must defend in the submission form why the character is different from the person playing them, whether they qualify is up to Tourney Master's discretion

You can submit as many characters as you want as long as you submit each one only once

No characters who are nazis

This is more for jerks, dickheads, bitches, pricks, and assholes - generally mean or snarky people - than it is for just plain old evil villains. Bonus points if the character is rich/preppy also.

Preliminary Round: Poll Runner's Choice

Ok, so this poll is gonna be a bit different. I picked six of my favorite submissions that didn't get in to put in this poll. Vote for who you would like to be in the main bracket the most, and the top three duos will be added to the bracket. So, without further ado...

Propaganda for Hiccup and Toothless: "They literally read each others minds, they're so in sync, they trust each other so much"

Propaganda for Tsumugi and Tasuku: "they're childhood friends who started acting together in school! acting requires lots of trust in your fellow co-stars like for example if they mess up or forget a line you need to be able to cover for them and keep the show going. after years of acting they're very much in sync able to match each other's energy onstage during a performance. even the player character (default name: izumi) notes in her narration that these two have a special connection onstage that no one else in their theatre company has bc of their years of acting together <3"

Propaganda for Xingqiu and Chongyun: "They have several matching design elements that balance each other out, with Xingqiu being associated with dark blue and black while Chongyun is associated with light blue and white. Chongyun uses the ice element, while Xingqiu uses the water element, which makes them formidable (or at least troublesome, since they freeze the enemies constantly) in a team together in game. They're commonly seen or mentioned together, and while Chongyun occasionally complains about Xingqiu's pranks, they get along well enough that an entire section of Chongyun's character story (in his profile) is dedicated to his friendship with Xingqiu, and vice versa with Xingqiu's story. Chongyun is a very earnest and genuine person, while Xingqiu is a bit wily and a prankster - despite this, Chongyun trusts him over and over again, despite the trouble that Xingqiu's pranks often cause for him. sorry for submitting genshin and writing a whole wall of text lol"

Propaganda for Rose and Dave: "I'm bad explanations, but the short of it is that even though they're both very cagey people and try not to be themselves, they see through each other's façade."

Propaganda for Mabel and Dipper: "They're the bestest siblings ever. They're twins and have such a wonderful beautiful relationship. Their relationship so important for the show as a whole and Gravity Falls wouldn't be what it is if not for them. They're the reason why I strive to be a good sibling to my own brother. I've been obsessed with this show and them for so many years. They're my favourite and I love them so so much."

Propaganda for Lio and Galo: "First, the obvious- they literally co-pilot a mech during the movie, and them being in sync is required for it to function: the more they understand each other, the better they fight. Also, they're very effective foils: The ice-cold arsonist and the burning-hot firefighter, who are also (as close to canonically as Studio Trigger can get) in gay love."

Preliminary Round: The Locked Tomb

Gideon Nav and Harrowhark Nonagesimus vs Palamedes Sextus and Camilla Hect

(Note: I don't have images for these characters right now because they are from a book series, I have a solution for this in mind but I wasn't able to do it in time, I will have images for them for the main tournament.)

Propaganda for Gideon and Harrowhark: "Gideon and Harrow grew up absolutely Despising each other BUT they eventually have an enemies-to-tentative friends-to-lovers* plot that ends in Gideon sacrificing herself so she can merge her soul with Harrow’s to save Harrow’s life. And THEN bc Harrow is so unwilling to absorb Gideon’s soul she gives herself a fucking LOBOTOMY to preserve Gideon’s consciousness!! Lots of themes between them about control and protecting the other and tldr, they already basically have been drift compatible (kinda) as two souls inside Harrow’s body"

Propaganda for Palamedes and Camilla: "Pal and Cam are a necromancer-cavalier pair that takes ‘codependent’ to the next level, but in the healthiest way possible? They love each other SO much. They support each other 100%. Each of them trusts the other one with their life and death and more. When Pal dies Cam scrapes together his shattered skull so she can bring him back from beyond death… when she manages this they share Cam’s body, taking turns piloting it and grieving bc the only way they can talk now is by writing notes and switching possession of the body. (They describe this with, “Life is too short and love is too long.”) Eventually they are able to do a perfect merger and both Pal and Cam’s souls merge into an entirely new person that’s the perfect blend of both of them—Paul. They’re basically already drifting compatibly all the time as Paul"

Kuroko Tetsuya and Kagami Taiga vs Kuroko Tetsuya, Kagami Taiga and Aomine Daiki vs Midorima Shintarou and Takao Kazunari

Propaganda for Tetsuya and Taiga: "Kuroko’s play style depends on being the “shadow” supporting someone’s “light”, and Kagami is that light. They start with a natural synchronicity and help each other grow as basketball players."

Propaganda for Tetsuya, Taiga and Daiki: "i know that my mutual submitted a long essay about them already but here are some other cool bug facts about them!! - they have this song together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhpQYlQ2sAQ&pp=ygUha3Vyb2tvIG5vIGJhc2tldCBicmVha2luZyB0aHJvdWdo - kuroko and kagami want to save aomine... kagami even sings it in the song... - kagami and aomine are similar in love for basketball, basketball positions, shoe size, etc. - aomine and kagami do a basketball dunk together to win a very important game - as teammates, kuroko and kagami's plays compliment each other-- as the shadow and light of their team, they're necessary for their team's victories - they say they get along with each other most on their team (kagami and kuroko) - likewise, aomine and kuroko said that they got along with each other the most in their middle school teams - for kagami and kuroko, in the final game, kuroko trusted kagami so much, he knew what kagami would do-- which helped them defeat a guy who could see the future"

Propaganda for Shintarou and Kazunari: "of course these two didnt start out as friends. in fact! back in middle school, midorima's team completely crushed takao's team! like many other opponents who have to go up against any member of the generation of miracles, takao seriously considered quitting the sport after being dominated by the GoM. however, takao stuck with it, continuing to practice basketball, swearing that he would one day defeat the generation of miracles! until one of their members, midorima, just happened to go to the same school as him! this kind of sparks a one-sided rivalry, takao wanting to prove his worth to a member of the generation of miracles. midorima has no opinion on this. however, as the two continue to train together, midorima does praise takao's dedication to improving himself in basketball. midorima deeply respects those who "do everything humanly possible" to achieve their goals, a trait takao strongly exhibits. as such, the two begin to work (and hang out) much more, building a pretty solid friendship!

to be specific of how in sync they are, the two have a special move they developed together! this involves midorima's ability to make a basket from anywhere on the court, combined with takao's incredible ability to accurately pass to his teammates! its dubbed as the "sky direct three point shot" which basically involves midorima jumping in the air, doing the motion of doing a three pointer, and takao passing the ball INTO MIDORIMA'S HANDS right before he shoots! this effectively gives midorima an instantaneous shot, virtually unblockable! and the series does emphasize that the two practiced quite a bit to get this move to work! but the results speak for themselves, as its probably one of the strongest moves in the entire series!!"

Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric vs Ling Yao and Greed vs Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye and Colonel Roy Mustang

Propaganda for Ed and Al: "Grew up together and committed the ultimate Alchemical Taboo together, losing Al’s body and Ed’s literal arm and leg as a consequence. They spend the whole time working together and never doubt each other once. They trust each other with everything and do their best to protect each other. I can’t imagine a duo that would be more instantly in sync with each other"

Propaganda for Ling and Greed: "due to Circumstances, Ling Yao's body was possessed by the homunculus known as Greed, and they share control of the body based on which of their abilities is more useful"

Propaganda for Riza and Roy: "They have known each other since they were teenagers and are easily the most important person in the others life. Riza followed Roy into war and serves as his protector, conscience and potential executioner should he ever step off the righteous path. This goes to the point that she would be willing to die to protect Mustang and his plans. Mustang on the other hand is fully willing to risk his own life and goals to protect her. Frankly, the dynamic between these two is terrifying. Hawkeye is willing to kill Mustang if he ever does go bad and were he to die she would likely kill herself. Something that Roy can’t allow to happen because “I can't lose you too“. The two are so in tune, Hawkeye manages to communicate without speaking that Mustang shouldn’t give in to the temptation to commit essentially necromancy to heal her when she gets severely injured and is near death. The two of them are a strong enough team together that the government decides to separate them and hold Hawkeye as a hostage against Roy and they still manage to communicate and organise a coup against said government while also under surveillance. They also make an absolutely terrifying team together, with Hawkeye being an excellent sniper, almost never missing her target and Mustang as the famous ‘Flame Alchemist’, able to create huge and incredible precise fire blasts. Additionally, the have each others back, with Hawkeye preventing Mustang from getting killed by a serial killer, as his alchemy is useless in the rain and Mustang backing her up against opponents that can withstand her guns."

Igarashi Ikki/Revi and Vice(top left) vs Banjou Ryuuga and Kiryuu Sento(top right) vs Hojo Emu and Parad(bottom left) vs Hidari Shoutarou and Phillip(bottom right)

Propaganda for Revi and Vice: "The series starts with them being at odds with each other, but with Vice being Ikki's inner demon they have to work together, and the series is about them doing just that and learning from each other. Most of the "checkpoints" in their relationship are marked by them getting new armor that only works if they're in synch with each other. One of them has them working together in one suit , while their final form is based on magnets and all of their stronger attacks are them using opposite magnetic poles to propel/attract the other"

Propaganda for Ryuuga and Sento: "the whole show is built on the ideal that through love and leave people can thrive in a world full of darkness where hope is removed. Banjou and sento have to go through countless trials and tribulations but at the end of the day they form a long last connection and trust each other and end up doing everything they can to save the other. Their bond ended up saying the world and created a new world (version of earth) without the darkness. They both weren’t supposed to exist in this new world but they did and found each other. They aren’t supposed to be compatibile as the show uses motifs of machinery and life forms to create different toku suit transformations ie rabbit and tank. However at they end they are able to combine their motifs (rabbit and dragon bottles) to create rabbitdragon form which consists of both of them and their minds together."

Propaganda for Emu and Parad: "their connection to each other was a large part of ex-aid's story, as Parad was created from Emu. They share a mental and physical connection with one another, so the Drifting Mind Meld would be as easy as breathing to them."

Propaganda for Shoutarou and Phillip: "It's literally the gimmick for their series! :D They can transform into Double *only* by working together! They are a two-in-one Rider! >:3 Shoutaro controls the left side of the body, while Philip controls the right side, but they're so in synch that they both control the body as one most of the time, without disconnect. The driver was made for Philip to work with someone, and Shoutaro ended up using it for an emergency, but they were compatible with each other from the start. Also one of the arcs of the show is Philip's mother trying to have him form Double with another person that she thinks would create a more powerful Double, but Philip refuses and says that Shoutaro's "weaknesses" (aka being kind and wanting to help everyone) is part of what makes Double so strong (this arc leads them to unlock their super form too, which is the two of them actually fused together, instead of using one body and having the other share his consciousness with it)"

Propaganda for Cure Melody and Cure Rhythm: "Like several other Pretty Cure duos, they cannot transform without each other and their powers require them to be in harmony with each other. This being a music-themed season, there is an extra emphasis on “harmony” here!"

They managed to beat the odds by transforming into Pretty Cure together even though there was only one transformation item left.
