Bellarke’s relationship has been developed for SIX ENTIRE SEASONS their relationship was the center of the show THE HEAD AND THE HEART they we were constantly shown how they always choose each other over everyone else how they care about each other the most how their bond only keeps growing stronger to the point where all the other characters notice it and call them out on how they care about each other the most what was the point????
Clarke choosing him over THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE and telling roan she will give up fighting as long as he doesn't kill Bellamy. She gave up HALF OF HER PEOPLE just so Bellamy can live!!!
She got called out by Lexa that she worries about Bellamy the most. Clarke didn’t send Bellamy on a risky mission that he needed to go to in order to save them but she couldn’t do it “i can’t lose you too” then Lexa told her “Love is weakness” so then Clarke sends Bellamy on that mission saying “I was being weak” HE WAS HER BIGGEST WEAKNESS “her fiends are her weakness start with Bellamy Blake”
Clarke knocked Bellamy out and kidnapped him just so he doesn't go and risk his life to save Octavia. Because she just couldn’t lose him. she radioed him every single day for six years!!! Even though she never heard from him not once!!
Bellamy is the one Madi ran to to tell about Clarke even though Clarke’s other friends were there (“Clarke knew you would come” madi told him) she only spoke to Bellamy only grabbed Bellamy’s hand taking him to Clarke because she knew Bellamy is the most important person to Clarke out of all the others.
Clarke refused to close the dropship door because Bellamy was still standing outside he was waiting for Monty and Murphy but Clarke didn’t want to wait for them she was just waiting for Bellamy to come in she was begging him to come in so she can close the dropship door.
Clarke risked madi’s life to go save Bellamy!!! She told him leaving him in the fighting pits was her BIGGEST REGERT even though he was alive and unharmed!!!
and last season was all about how Bellamy couldn’t lose Clarke:
Bellamy was the one who realized Clarke’s off when Josephine took over.
Bellamy was the ONLY one that mourned her death (Madi shed few tears but the main focus was on Bellamy)
Bellamy was the ONLY one that figured out she’s alive.
Bellamy was the ONLY one that risked everything to bring her back.
Bellamy’s the ONLY one that refused to accept she’s dead and kept fighting for her life till he brought her back to life because of how much he loves her.
you expect us to believe this Clarke would kill him WILLINGLY leaving him to die sad and alone?? SHE COULDNT EVEN KILL THE VILLAIN THAT KILLED HER MOTHER!!!!!! BUT SHE KILLS BELLMAY HER PERSON?? OVER A DAMN BOOK THAT SHE DIDNT EVEN TAKE????
Finn who was only around for a season and a half got a way better ending. A white man that shot countless of innocent people was mercy killed by Clarke she didn’t even want to do but she had no choice. He died in her arms he got an “i love you” and “may we meet again” HE GOT A WHOLE FUNERAL!!!
Echo a white character who betrayed and murdered so many people this season but it was all looked over bc she was “grieving” but bellamy came back after experiencing something so traumatic while being isolated on a planet by himself for months and getting brainwashed in the process suddenly everyone just turned against him and HE GOT MURDERED by the hands of his own BEST FRIEND without a chance to explain himself or them even trying to hear him out???
Bellamy A POC!! WHO DIDNT KILL ANYONE!! Who’s been around for seven seasons!! The male lead the heart of the show the one who has ALWAYS been there for Clarke for SEVEN SEASONS!!! He got shot as if he meant nothing???
they gave Bellamy the WORST death on the show or any show/movie I’ve ever seen!they could’ve made her accidentally shoot him or made him die any other way but not by making Clarke WILLINGLY shoot him WHEN SHE DIDNT EVEN KILL THE VILLAIN THAT KILLED HER MOTHER!!!! But she shot BELLAMY OUT OF ALL PEOPLE??? Just because she didn’t approve of the way he was going about SAVING everyone???? she shot him left him to die sad and all alone he didn’t even get “may we meet again”!!!!
he was left behind to rot on the floor on A DIFFERENT PLANET no one buried him no one held him in their arms telling him he did good telling him his fight is over telling him may we meet again HE GOT NOTHING BUT A SHOT TO HIS HEART FROM THE PERSON THAT MEANT SO MUCH TO HIM THE PERSON HE RISKED EVERYTHING FOR TO BRING BACK TO LIFE!!
I am beyond sickened ..Bellamy deserved better, Clarke deserved better, Bellarke deserved better. WE deserved better. We wasted 6+ years on this pointless show. Invested so much of our time and energy in it for nothing.

I gave so many signs
Summary: “Something flashes in his expression, only a moment and then gone, but it renews a hope in her. Her Bellamy is still in there. He has to be.”
or some tapping into Clarke’s memory speculation.
I’m not actually sure how good this is, but I spent a day or so on it and also wanted it to be posted before the episode soooo.... here ya go :)
also on ao3
I think I’ve seen this film before and I didn’t like the ending you’re not my homeland anymore so what am I defending now?
------
The lights are too bright, and the memories come in flashes, each one moving so quickly that Clarke can barely keep up. The ache in her head pulses with each rapid beat in her heart. She cries out each time the machine whirs, the pain almost unbearable.
She only knows she has to protect Madi—the disciples, Bellamy, can’t know that she holds the flame’s memories. Regardless of where Bellamy may stand, he hasn’t yet given up that secret, and so it’s one that she pushes back with everything she has.
So, everything else flows freely. She can’t stop it.
She sees drawings from the Ark, Wells, Finn, Lexa, the hundred—they all flood past like a damn breaking. The noise that yanks itself from her throat sounds inhuman, and the hurt in her head leaks into her heart as she relives some of her worst memories.
Her father being taken away.
Her mother—or her face, at least—being sucked out into space.
“Together.” A hand over hers—she can almost feel his fingers covering her own.
“We need more information about the flame.” She isn’t sure who it is that speaks. “What do you remember from when it was in your head?”
The memories slow, and she’s back on the top level of Polis, opening her mouth to take the City of Light chip. Even though her Bellamy is not the one that stands off to her left, she remembers clearly the feeling of his hand in hers and it allows her to take a breath, to refocus.
But then she’s thinking of her Bellamy, of his hand on hers at Mount Weather, his arms around her on a dark beach as his tears drip into her hair, his hand brushing across her forehead in a laboratory. A sob escapes her, and she can feel the tears that drifts past her ears.
“Bellamy,” his name slips from her lips, almost a prayer. She stretches her neck, trying to meet his eyes.
Something flashes in his expression, only a moment and then gone, but it renews a hope in her.
Her Bellamy is still in there. He has to be.
She does her best to focus on how much she loves him, and the memories surface. She remembers the kiss she pressed to his cheek when she left after Mount Weather, how much it ripped her chest apart to leave him there. She thinks about his eyes, his smile, the way he’d looked at her when she had begged him to use his head to survive.
The sadness she felt seeing them take off in the rocket, but then the overwhelming happiness that they would be okay. The jealousy that she felt the first time he hugged Echo. Careful, she remembers how heartbroken she had been when he had betrayed her trust, but she leaves Madi out of it. The push that his voice had given her as she’d stared at Josephine, dying, in the mindspace.
The relief she had felt when she opened her eyes and saw him.
“She must be pretty important to you.”
“She is.”
His eyes don’t change much. They mostly seem sad, just around the edges. She can’t just show him, she knows.
She has to tell him.
Swallowing past the sudden lump in her throat, she closes her eyes and focuses everything she has on a very specific set of memories.
“Hey Bellamy, it’s been 357 days since Praimfaya. Hopefully you guys are all doing okay up there. I… I miss you. I miss everyone, but I never realized how much I would miss you. I don’t even know if you can hear these, but if this is all I get, it’ll have to be enough. I’m trying to stay positive, but not seeing you is tough. I wish I knew… I wish I knew that you were okay.”
“Hey, Bellamy. It’s been 962 days since Praimfaya, and… I started telling Madi our stories. She loves them, of course. She already loves you. Her favorite story so far is learning about you and Octavia, and how you two survived on the Ark. Her other favorite is… She loves hearing about those first days. I’m sure you remember, when all we did was fight? Sometimes I wonder, if I had known how much I would come to care about you, if I would have still fought you so hard. I think maybe I would have, because I’m pretty stubborn, and you are, too. Anyway, I hope you’re okay. I miss you, every day. Obviously.”
Clarke strains, trying to meet Bellamy’s eyes as her voice continues to fill the room. His gaze meets hers, his face carefully stoic. Her tears are pooling on the headrest beneath her, soaking her hair.
“Hey, Bellamy. 1,548 days have passed now. It’s getting closer to when it’ll be safe for you guys to all come back. Today, Madi said something interesting. She was… she was looking at a picture that I drew of you, and she stared at it for a really long time and then she asked ‘Did you ever tell Bellamy you loved him?’ I didn’t really know what she meant, I mean, I’m sure you know how important you are to me. But she… she insisted, saying that she thinks I love you… more than I’ve admitted to her. She’s so smart, honestly. Because I do, of course. And I had to tell her that I never did admit how much I love you to your face. And God, Bellamy, I really hope you’re alive. Because one day, I would love the chance to tell you. But just in case, I’m telling you now… I love you, Bellamy. I love you.”
“We’re getting nowhere.”
Bellamy’s voice is rough, cutting through the end of the sentences as they fade.
Bill speaks then. “I think I may have underestimated how much you mean to Clarke, Bellamy. Did you know she was in love with you?”
The silence is brief, but heavy. “No.”
“Bellamy, please.” Her voice is quiet, but she knows he hears her.
“We aren’t making progress, my Shephard.”
“On the contrary, I think we have certainly acquired some valuable information today.”
Clarke feels sick as she realizes that in trying to protect Madi, she has given them all her other weakness.
Bellamy.
“Perhaps we should give her a break, once again remind her how all of her friends are alive, despite one of them killing a disciple.” Bellamy’s voice is dark, and Clarke closes her eyes.
Yet, the hand that wraps around her arm to help her up is gentle, and when she glances into Bellamy’s eyes, they’re troubled. “Come on.”
He leads her back to the room, alone, and she feels her feet tripping over themselves in sudden exhaustion. Bellamy seems harder now, out away from the confines of her memories of him. Her voice is echoing in her own head, faded.
“I didn’t know,” he says softly as they get to the door to her room. “How you felt.”
“I’m not sure how you didn’t.” She searches his eyes, imploring him to listen. “Bellamy, they’ll hurt you to get to me.”
“For all mankind, Clarke. You shouldn’t resist.”
She shakes her head, tears stinging the corners of her eyes. “This isn’t you.”
“Maybe it is.”
“I know you. I love you.” The secret it out now—no point in hiding it. “This isn’t my Bellamy.”
His eyes flash again, but it’s gone quickly. “You should get inside. I’ll probably be sent to fetch you in a few hours.”
When he hits the button to open her door and she turns back to him, he reaches up, brushing away a tear still lingering on her cheek.
“Get some rest.”
And then he’s gone.
Clarke’s back hits the wall and she slides down, vaguely aware of Raven asking her something. She doesn’t really hear the words, but she holds the image of Bellamy’s softened eyes as he had helped her up.
“They know I love him. They’re going to hurt him to get to me.” She speaks slowly, a new determination sinking into her chest. “I have to save him. He’s still in there. I saw him… for just a second. I think I know how I can get to him.”
Raven’s hand is on her shoulder, and Clarke meets her eyes. Her friend nods. “So let’s do it. Let’s save him.”
Clarke nods, pushing down her exhaustion.
Bellamy comes first.

I know you don't like BC anymore because of S7 But I like the way you answer the questions That's why I decided to ask I rewatched the first four seasons and realized something strange My question is long so I took it apart CL was never conceived as a big love At least JR didn't do that Maybe KS worked for it, and when he came back 130years later, still CL S6 continued but I thought it wasn't the original plan for JR.
People call it big CL, but I don't really understand what CL is being mentioned At least romantically The same is true for BC Before Finn's reaction 108 there was only friendship development jealousy confirmed this For CL,this only started at 214 But even then,C said she was not ready to have a relationship with anyone "in general" So he was saying this to himself.Well a few episodes ago, because love was a weakness, kept B away from herself B didn't send anyone to look for her s1e11
I'm not sure if these asks are in the right order or if there were suppose to be more asks, but these are the ones I got.
I very rarely talk about show Bellarke anymore because as you said, I don't ship them anymore. I'll try my best to answer this but honestly, I just couldn't care less about show Bellarke and I would never want Clarke anywhere near Bellamy (so I'm not sure I can be empathetic towards her)
Basically this is my interpretation. Lxa wasn't supposed to be Lxa at first. They wanted a child actor to play Heda but for different reasons that didn't happen. They cast ADC. Everyone knows Lxa was there to be an antagonist to Clarke but also a mirror to who Clarke could be.
Then they saw chemistry between Clarke and Lxa and it was Kim who suggested they kiss (if I remember it correctly). There were no plans to write CL the way it ended up being written. Jason only had the Lxa story for season 2. They didn't plan on having Lxa in season 3.
Then came the fan reaction to Lxa and CL. Jason was clearly surprised but also happy with the reaction and it fed him. He used that popularity and reaction to push for more Lxa/CL. Yet he still had no long term plans for them. But he wanted to buy more time, more screentime/scenes for them.
Since ADC had already signed with AMC, they had to fight to get ADC back in order to "finish the story". A story that Jason hadn't even planned on by the end of season 2. He even said the plan was for the story to go on and for everyone to know Lxa was out there with other grounders doing her job but not part of the story on the show. But he wanted to use her popularity to sell the show and elevate it into the sort of show he wanted or believed he was making. From the moment Jason started writing season 3, Lxa was always going do die, it was even hinted at in season 2!
So he developed a romantic relationship within 7 episodes. What was shown on screen was not what he was saying online. He used fans and their love for the character, to sell season 3. I do believe Clarke and Lxa had a connection and understood each other. I think they were attracted to each other. I think Lxa was into Clarke more than Clarke was into Lxa. Not because Clarke couldn't but because they didn't give Clarke the time to fully develop those feelings. Lxa already had them. Right when Clarke allowed herself to acknowledge those feelings, they killed Lxa.
I think Lxa was supposed to be an important character for Clarke for many different reasons and I would never claim that they weren't romantic/had feelings because they clearly did but the notion that a two week romance was THE relationship for Clarke, as an 18 year old girl, is ridiculous.
I think the disconnect here is that CL shippers and Jason (when he tried to do damage control after) sold CL as big, important and everlasting relationship on a 7 episodes built up. The vision of what fans wanted for CL, what they saw for CL, what they wished for CL was sold as canon after 7 episodes. I would argue, fans elevated CL to that status from sheer WISHFUL thinking of what wanted CL to BE but that they in canon weren't, at least, they never got the built up or time to BECOME what fans saw in their vision. But they made it "the truth" on social media and made it canon in their minds and sold CL as such after only 7 episodes. Regardless of the fact that it was Clarke's show, Clarke's journey or the fact that Clarke was only an 18 year old who had her entire life in front of her.
The way in which Jason killed Lxa also goes to show how little he understood fans and how little he cared about any emotional connection to Lxa. He cared as long as the story gave him want he wanted for the show; recognition, an audience, money, more seasons etc.
The backlash against Jason is a huge part of how the story was told after season 3. Suddenly even on the show, they started writing Lxa and her memory differently and they gave more meaning to the relationship that had ever gotten in the scripts. The I love you in 3x16 was ADR. It was added only AFTER the backlash. It wasn't even in the script. The Lxa mentions in 4x01 (Clarke and Abby's talk wasn't even scripted at first. The actor playing Abby made them write it and keep it in the episode). All these extra Lxa mentions, rewriting the relationship or the build up of the relationship was damage control. It was an answer to all the criticism. To give CL more depth and meaning after death. As if it was good enough for fans. It wasn't.
The thing is, people say "oh you only call it damage control and not canon because you don't ship CL". The thing is, it's such an insult to themselves and their ship when they say stuff like that. CL fans should acknowledge that they were used and that most of the things after season 3 was damage control. That should be the real problem here, that they were used like that. They should want and expect better than a pitty damage control tour. CL could have been great and exactly what they envisioned CL to be or become. But they never got the screentime to become that. They killed Lxa off right before their potential could be reached. So now all that lost potential has somehow been made into being canon because CL fans think "this is what CL was even though they never got the time to achieve it). That's the thing. They COULD have sure but they never did. They ended with the potential but the potential in your vision is not canon. Yet they made it so.
So we have fan backlash against Jason and the show and it changed a lot for the story due to damage control. And through Lxa's popularity, she became some sort of martyr in their eyes and so much interest and equally pressure would put on the show, Clarke and Jason, that they keep Lxa as a ghost in the story. Clarke was never allowed to grow up and have a life outside of Lxa, the show started to revolve around the AI and even though there were several other commanders, it somehow always came down to Lxa. And then Jason got a chance to right his mistake when he got ADC to come back. To win some points with fans. Look how great he is, right? But yet again, he showed his true colors. He didn't make CL endgame, he didn't even bring Lxa back. He literally had ADC on set again and he made her an alien in Lxa's clothes. If we are gonna talk about ship, you had the actor right there and could have made it become real since you CLAIM you did it for fans. Yet. He. Did. Not. Do. That. He made Lxa an alien. And then what did he do? He did an interview where he claimed it was a "greatest love" yet he never once told that story in the finale. He didn't even let Lxa be Lxa. But he could do an interview playing with people's emotions again because it would give him support and extra points from CLs. But in canon? He never had to follow through for a single second. It was all left in the open.
So no, not much of anything was his original plan and it shows. Personally, I think he thinks losing Lxa was his biggest mistake (only after he saw the fan reaction to her) and if he could, there is no doubt in my mind he would have kicked Clarke out as the main for Lxa.

I woke up mad and have been mad all day so let’s discuss the disrespectful absurdity that was Bellamy’s death on the 100 some more.
JRoth’s tweet really pissed me off a lot. Ultimately, he’s not wrong when he says the 100 has always been a dark show about hard choices and what people would do to survive. It’s just that I don’t think any of that played into Bellamy’s death at all. I’ve been thinking about all of the other major character deaths across the seasons and how, even the ones I hated and have massive issues with, still somehow seem more respectful to the characters than what he did to Bellamy. Keep reading for the rant:
Season 1 - Wells (and to an extent Charlotte)
Wells - Wells is a bit of a tricky one since it happened so fast and I know there are people still upset about it. But it set the tone for the show, the tone that JRoth is so proud of and referencing for Bellamy’s death. But I think you can get away with a shock value death in season one to kick things off. They also set up the situation fairly well, playing up just how harsh things are on the ark, that most of their parents had been floated. I can understand how Charlotte, who is just a child, reached that conclusion, especially with Bellamy’s maybe misguided advice (although that’s clearly not what he meant). I also don’t know that there was really a place for another presumably male lead in season one alongside Bellamy and Finn. So I get it. But also, Wells still had a chance to repair things with Clarke before he was killed. She discovered the truth and knew that he lied to protect her. He didn’t die with her hating him. It was a truncated arc, but it was something.
Charlotte - And arguably, Charlotte’s death kind of needed to happen. There wasn’t really any way for her to continue on with them after what she’d done and at least it was her choice, however tragic it all was.
Season 2 - Finn and Maya
Finn - As with Wells, Finn’s death is something I think you can get away with and can be viewed as edgy in an early season. It’s upping the stakes and reminding you that this is a show that will put these characters in impossible situations. And they still had a male lead left in Bellamy, plus Murphy and Jasper and even a character like Miller were rising in the ranks and there to fill in the gaps. Plus a whole host of new characters. Killing Finn was a gutsy move but one I could respect. They took him down a dark path and instead of absolving him for it because he was a main character, they made him pay for it. But unlike Bellamy, Finn realized what he did was wrong. He couldn’t live with the guilt. He couldn’t live with the way Clarke was looking at him. He knew the truce with the Grounders was important and he knew he was the key. He made the choice to give himself up. He had agency. He got to have one last escape attempt with his friends, say his goodbyes to everyone. And even still, they let him die with some amount of dignity rather than being tortured to death. And Clarke killing him worked in a way her killing Bellamy doesn’t. What he did was directly tied to her. Only she could forgive him in those final moments. There were multiple episodes of build up to this death, it was the story of the whole episode it happened in. It was expected but also a bold move for the show.
Maya - This was a death about hard choices and survival. The audience had grown to like Maya throughout the season, seeing her stand up for what was right and going against her own people. She didn’t deserve the end she got. But Clarke and Bellamy and Monty were put in an impossible situation and it was either the lives of all their friends and family or death in a very inhumane way because the mountain never would have stopped. And the way it was set up, with us and them watching Raven and Abby being drilled into, the choice was painful but clear. And it had been building to this moment for an entire season.
Season 3 - Lexa and Lincoln
Lexa - Lexa had arguably one of the most controversial deaths on the show. And I know there were behind the scenes reasons for it with the actress having another show to film. I don’t know how much availability she would have had. I don’t know how necessary it was to remove her from the narrative. I don’t want to get into it I will just assume for these purposes, that she had to be killed off. And I’ve always said with respect to Lexa, that I didn’t mind that they killed her off, it was how they did it. But compared to Bellamy’s death, even her controversial one feels less disrespectful to the character. It may be worse due to lesbian death tropes and that’s a larger issue, but in terms of the show story, I don’t think it was as bad. First of all, she was only a character for a season and a half. Second, her death directly affected the plot that had been hinted at all season and carried out in a major way through the rest of it. Now I hate that she died immediately after having sex by a stray bullet from a guy who should not have been holding a gun in the first place. I hate it. I would have much rather she went down fighting or stepping in front of a bullet for Clarke or something. But at least she got to finally resolve things with Clarke. They reconciled. They said they loved each other. She knew was was going to die at the end and she got to have her final moments with Clarke. Clarke got to do the whole may we meet again speech. Despite the issues, it was a beautiful moment.
Lincoln - This death has always been the one that pissed me off the most. Again I know there were behind the scenes issues and he also had another show. Again I don’t know how much filming availability he would have or how necessary his death was. Again, let’s assume it was because people can’t just go off somewhere else for a new start on this show. But I still always hated how he went out, being executed in the mud. He should have gone down fighting at the very least. However, even more at the very least, because that’s what we’re getting into here, Lincoln did die because he was defending his people. That’s the bare minimum here but at least he had that. He was true to himself. I hated that he didn’t really get a final moment with Octavia, but hey, at least she was present. Extremely low bar but still, better than Bellamy’s death from a writing perspective.
Season 4 - Jasper (Roan, Illian, Luna)
Jasper - Jasper’s is a sad tale. He spent two seasons basically completely depressed after the events of season two. There really wasn’t anywhere else to take his character at that point, so I understood and was ready for him to go. It made sense as an end for his character and he got to go out on his own terms and not take the spot in the bunker of someone who truly wanted to live. He got to have his final moments with Monty. It was a good end for him.
Roan, Illian and Luna - I wouldn’t call them major characters per say, perhaps Roan and Luna but we got to know all of them fairly well. They were expendable characters for the most part but they at least got to die fighting for their people and that’s a respectable way to go out.
Season 5 - Jaha, Monty and Harper
Jaha - Jaha was a character who did go down a sort of cult path. It probably would have been easy to kill him off in season 3 as a result of that. And if it had been a high stakes, last resort, have to kill Jaha to get to ALIE to save everyone, I could have respected that. But they didn’t. They let him survive that. They let him see the error of his ways. He spent season four determined to save his people from what he helped to unleash. He didn’t do it in the right way but even then, finally, in season 5, he was redeemed a bit, helping to maintain the peace in the bunker and helping Octavia gain control. And he had Octavia and Marcus and Abby there at his end. It was fitting. He got to say his goodbyes.
Monty and Harper - I was very sad to say goodbye to them but they went out on their own terms. They got probably the happiest ending out of anyone on this show. They got to live their lives how they chose and be together and having a son. And they did all of that while finding a way to give their friends, their family, their people a fresh start. And they got to say goodbye, albeit through video, but it was touching and lovely.
Season 6 - Shaw, Kane and Abby
Shaw - Shaw was another one that was killed off because he had another show, which is fine. It sucked for Raven and it was sad the character only got one season. Although considering the seasons that followed, I think he should count himself lucky really. But again, he died helping out his friends and Raven. It was a sacrifice and he knew what he was doing.
Kane - Again, another person who had other commitments. And they did some weird body swap stuff to extend his time a little longer. But I loved that they had actual Kane there at the end anyway to say goodbye to Abby even if it wasn’t really him that she was seeing. It was a nice touch, and a better way to say goodbye to the character. He also chose to let go. It was on his terms and he got his goodbye with Abby. And there were good parallels to floating both men she loved.
Abby - I’m not fond of the way they killed off Abby since she was basically dead once they took over her body. So that was unfortunate. But at least prior to the body swapping, she did have that last scene with Clarke where they kind of reconciled. And if I recall, she had some last moments with Jackson and Raven too. And those matter.
Season 7 - Diyoza and Bellamy
Diyoza - By season seven, I’m honestly kind of over major character deaths. I don’t really want them. I just want to see these characters that I love survive all of the trauma of the show and find peace, but I understand that I’m never going to get that. It’s fine. I was sad to see Diyoza go, but her sacrificing herself for her daughter, for the people who became her family, kind of “for all mankind” to use a phrase I hate now, was a fitting way for her to go out since she was introduced to us as a terrorist. And she got to say her goodbyes. This is clearly an important theme for me.
Bellamy - And then we circle back to my rage. Bellamy kind of took the path of Finn in a way, or perhaps his season 3 arc, which he didn’t really pay for so much. Not the way Finn did anyway because all of a sudden Blood must not have Blood. Plus, Pike was the rightful scapegoat for all of that. But this season saw Bellamy get caught up in yet another man’s bullshit idea of what was right. That was frustrating enough, but I guess it was somewhat in character. It’s just all the more frustrating because the Second Dawn/Shepherd nonsense is just that, nonsense. His sudden anti grounder status in season 3 were motivations that made at least some sense. He’d been fighting them since day one basically. They betrayed them at Mount Weather, which meant they had to kill everyone there, which meant he lost Clarke. And then Echo’s betrayal killed his three episode girlfriend, Gina. Plus Pike was a man he’d respected on the arc. The motivations always felt fairly thin to me since Gina was so minor, but overall, they make sense.
This season has been all over the place. The storylines have been mostly nonsensical. The nature of the different timelines meant that there were many episodes where we had to backtrack to fill in gaps, which meant the story was basically at a standstill for the whole middle of the season. We have zero sympathy for Bill and his cult followers. They’re not interesting. The Mount Weather people were brutal and doing terrible things, but I understood their need to survive. These Second Dawn people don’t have that same motivation. They’re fine. And so much of it is driven by the flame, which Bill wants for selfish reasons along with the stupid key code. He wants to know if there’s any of his daughter in there, which goes against all his teachings and what he’s trying to suck Bellamy into. And all of that is really just to set up a spinoff no one is going to want to watch at this point anyway after all of this. It’s kind of insulting.
And we see all of this Bellamy development in one episode late in the season and then he just betrays all his friends and family. He only shows the slightest hint of questioning. He just flat out tells Echo she doesn’t matter more than the cult. He doesn’t even have a scene with just his sister. He gets one good scene with Clarke but then is like “eh torture her it’s fine”. And then we get to this episode, where he barely interacts with his friends that he’s with. They spend most of the episode rolling their eyes at him and mocking his clothing choices. They set up the stupid sketchbook in a rushed little scene with Madi and Clarke just so in the last thirty seconds Sheidheda, who my god should be dead now (Indra I’m looking at you), can say “hey check out that book”. And Bellamy picks up this book that we’ve seen like once or twice earlier in the season that was fairly inconsequential then. We don’t even fully understand what’s in it that’s so crucial that Bellamy can’t show Bill. And that’s what Clark shoots him for? Really? And shoots to kill? Which was highly unnecessary to get her hands on that book. And then she didn’t even take the stupid book in the first place.
So Bellamy Blake, main male lead of the series, hero and leader to his people, gets murdered by his closest most trusted friend, his person, without getting to realize that the cult stuff was bullshit, without getting any chance to redeem himself, for a book that really doesn’t even seem to matter. And he dies alone. None of his family or friends are around. No one is reciting the may we meet again speech. He never got a final scene to reconcile with his sister. He never had any real final moments with anyone else. He just disappeared in the first five minutes of the premier, showed up eleven episodes later, a brainwashed cult follower and that’s how he died. That’s frankly bullshit. And a massive disservice to his character, to Clarke’s character, to the show. And the fact that they barely had Clarke try and shake him out of his brainwashing. The fact that his friends just mocked him instead of trying to help him. It’s just not what this show was built on. It’s not. It’s one absurdity after another. It’s insulting.
And the fact that every other character I’ve listed here at least got something, some kind of minor positive to their passing but Bellamy got none of those things?! Not fighting for a cause or a people the audience is rooting for or siding with. And no final goodbyes with the people he loves. Even Clarke only did her crying once she went through the stupid portal. I’m just mad. I should feel devastated by his death, but at least feel like he died for something. He died for nothing and that’s the saddest part of it all.

The 12 Clans vs Ark Station: Nuance
I’m honestly not fond of grounders as a whole or their society, and basically this is to explain where a lot of that stems from.
So, basically this “essay” is going to compare the society of the 12 Clans (grounders)* to that of the Ark Station. The worldbuilding around the ark station is complex; everything surrounding the grounder’s culture boils down to violence or revenge.
The Citizens of the Ark:
The society and government of the Ark were deeply flawed: its one child policy, classism, “all crimes are capital crimes”, teenaged criminals are basically kept on death row for months or years until they can be executed, its willingness to sacrifice the few for the sake of the many. But we see aspects of their culture beyond that; I’m not even arguing that they’re redeeming characteristics, just that the worldbuilding is nuanced and the society doesn’t seem completely awful.
Democracy
The Ark has a functioning democracy. Former Chancellor Sidney was voted out of power, so Chancellor is not a position held for life and the Ark’s democracy is functional enough that Chancellors can be voted out by the people
The fact that theoretically the people of the Ark could vote in a Chancellor whose campaign centered on say, repealing the one child policy (or at the very least, pardoning anyone who breaks it); idk it just adds nuance to me that the people have power and that at least many of them support the Ark’s draconian policies- it’s not all the government being tyrannical
They have very limited resources and thus everyone’s use of resources is limited- even the Chancellors
As we see from early season 1 after Jaha is shot, everyone- including the Chancellor, the most powerful person on the Ark- has a “legal limit” on the amount of blood and other medical resources that doctors are allowed to give them. The fact that there’s at least some equality in their harsh system
Religion
We see some of a religious service held by Vera Kane, and we see how their religion centers around the small tree they have, which followers water with drops of their own water
(And we see Nygel dismiss this as “a waste of water”; like in real life, not everyone is religious)
The Traveller’s Blessing, which we see used as funeral rites
I think it’s interesting the insights you can take from it- “until our final journey to the ground” echoes Clarke’s “man can go home, back to the ground. The ground, that's the dream”; I get a sense they as a society long to go “home” to the ground, viewing the Ark as almost a liminal place
Unity Day
We see one of their holidays- Unity Day, as well how they celebrate it- we see both a Unity Day pageant and a Unity Day masquerade dance
Unity Day celebrates the founding of the Ark, and their Unity Day story told in the pageant gives some insight into their values (”they realized life would be better together“) and thus their culture
Chess
In a flashback, we see Clarke and Wells playing chess in a rec room surrounded by other people playing chess. So, we get at least a small glimse at what the people of the Ark do for fun
The black market
This one isn’t necessarily a positive, but through Nygel (and Raven trying to buy a pressure regulator from her) we see some of the common people subverting the laws of the Council; the people aren’t powerless. (And it makes it feel more like a real society).
Plus, Abby states that “Kane’s been trying to get [Nygel] for years”, indicating that their justice system requires at least some proof
Education
Obviously, the people of the Ark have an education system/have been educated, but I feel like it’s important to note that they’re passing down information beyond what’s necessary for survival- Bellamy’s numerous references to the greeks/romans, Monty knew Korean, Bellamy and Clarke know about Oppenheimer, Clarke was probably taught by someone how to draw, etc.
Yes, the Ark has a class problem, but everyone gets an education
Well’s quote: “ It's called cutting sign. Fourth-year earth skills”; we get a glimpse into their education system
There’s probably more, but you can see how the Ark feels like a real society with a flesh-out culture; with both good and bad elements.
The 12 Clans:
Really, my main issue with grounder culture is how everything stems back to violence and revenge, and how highly violence and revenge is held. There are the obvious, of course: Jasper the unarmed teenager is speared for crossing a river, Anya reacts to the flare killing Trikru villagers by attacking barely armed teenagers in the woods and then deciding to wipe out all 100 of the teenagers, “death by a 1000 cuts”, the fact that Finn’s execution was supposed to start with fire, Lexa reacts to Skaikru killing army of Trikru soliders (so from the same people that only months ago tried to wipe out the 100) by declaring that she’ll wipe out Skaikru (despite the fact that she knows that had lost that challenge/duel only days ago, that same army would’ve been used by Ontari to wipe out Skaikru). There’s more (so much more) but I’ll stop there.
And like, this would be one thing if the grounders had a culture outside of violence and revenge. Or valued other things besides how good people at fighting. But we don’t see that at all. Every worldbuilding element stems back to violence.
“Your fight is over”
Even their funeral rites tie back to violence; peoples’ lives are defined by fighting and wars, and the only way to escape is to die
The Commander
The Commander is a tyrant who can murder ambassadors- and thus, presumably anyone- without consequence (see Lexa and that guy she kicked off the tower for questioning her)
Religion
So mid season 3, we start learning about grounder’s beliefs (Becca, the inifity sign as the sacred symbol, praimfaya), but surprise! it’s all about violence after all
Who gets the Flame (which is basically the be all and end all of their religion) is decided by a conclave aka children fighting to the death
That’s the cornerstone of their religion (and also their political system- fun); children fighting each other to the death
Fleimkepas- the priests basically- go around kidnapping nightblood children from their parents and then the head fleimkepa raises them to kill each other when the time comes
(Yes, I’m sure some parents voluntarily gave their nightblood children up, but Madi’s parents felt the need to hide her from fleimkepas, meaning they take nightblood children with or without their parents’ consent)
“Love is weakness”
This really tells you a lot about their values, doesn’t it
“A warrior does not mourn until the fight is over”
War > love/family/personal connections
Children train from a young age to be warriors, and are sent into battle as young teenagers
Infants with mutations are left out to die as “a stain on the bloodline”
Wanheda
You gain power from your kills
Kill marks
Language
Even the language, trigedasleng, (per word of god) was supposed to have started out as a code language used by the warriors (which makes no sense, as it’s also the universal language of the 12 clans now, but I digress) (sidenote: this might now longer be true now that we know the language was created by Callie)
Only the warriors speak English (which also makes no sense because trigedasleng is the universal grounder language why do the warriors need to know English at all, but that’s canon, Lincoln said it early season 2), which might indicate the warriors get better education (or more likely is just bad worldbuilding)
All the leaders are warriors
The tattoos/facial scarring
They’re used to distinguish the clans, but as we recently learned in season 7, that the meaning behind them (for Azgeda, at least) is that they’re ready to go to war
And like, even if it was just to signify membership in your clan, given how the clans seem to be constantly at war, it almost seems like just a way to identify “us vs. them” (see: Echo, as an Azgeda spy, didn’t have any facial scars or tattoos)
Medicine
Most of what we know about their knowledge of medicine/biology is from how they use ‘medicine’ for war: Lincoln’s poisons and antidotes, trikru’s use of biological warfare in season 1
The clothing
You cannot convince me that the Grounder Look (all the black leather that they wear) is not just for the Badass Warrior Aesthetic TM
To be fair they do burn their dead, occasionally name people after local pre-apocalpyse landmarks, and have clan symbols. But really isn’t enough worldbuilding-wise.
So, violence surrounds almost every aspect of their culture and thus it does not seem real or anything but irredeemably awful.
And yeah, it’s really the fault writers’ and I applaud fanfic writers who try to create some sort of actual culture for the grounders but like this is what we canonically have and thus, grounder society annoys me.
*I’m excluding Luna and her people from this; they were explicitly described as trying to get away from the 12 Clans/the Commander’s Coalition and its wars and culture of violence

The 100 6x07 Nevermind: costumes, sets and props
Nevermind is my favorite episode of the The 100. A masterpiece: brilliantly written & acted, but there's also so much attention to detail in sets, costumes and sound (including the memory wall and audio and video flashbacks), many of which you only notice on rewatch.
In this post, I’ll list the costumes, locations and objects that appeared in Clarke's mindspace. I love the way her state of mind was shown by her changing costumes and locations evoking various moments from the previous seasons.
(I won’t be listing or analyzing the images on the memory wall in this post. That will come soon though...)
When she first wakes up in her mindspace (at the end of 6x06, which continues into the first scene of 6x07), Clarke finds herself looking like the 16/17 year old Clarke on the Ark - in her Skybox cell, where she spent an entire year in solitary.
Tumblr media
Even before being sent to Earth, Clarke has had experience with long periods of isolation. She kept herself sane by drawing. The difference is that she used to draw images of Earth, places she dreamed of seeing IRL - pyramids, Arc de Triomphe, trees, animals, starry sky...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now, the place she wakes up in her mindspace is the same cell, but with drawings representing her memories of people and events - a few from her life on the Ark, but most of them from her time on Earth.
Tumblr media
Walking through the door, she finds herself in her Shallow Valley home that she used to share with Madi. And she' now wears her season 5 costume and red tinged shorter hair. And meets her dad - strange combo, but both the place and the person are her comforting happy places.
This mindspace version of her Shallow Valley home is the same as the real one. The drawings displayed are some of the same ones we saw in S5.
(Mind!Jake is looking at the portrait of Abby. Who, in this drawing, still wore his ring on a necklace - so it must be pre-S4 Abby)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The hallways of Clarke's mindspace seem to be the hallways on Eligius 4 and whenever she is in this default mode, she has her season 5, post-Praimfaya look.
The hallway leads to the door with Josephine's mindspace, which is marked with Christmas decorations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After realizing she's alive, she comes back to her cell - and is surprised to see that her costume has changed. She now looks like in season 3b, when she was trying to stop ALIE.
That's because ALIE - a projection of her logical mind, - is the next one she meets. She hides the memory of how Raven was EMPed - in what looks like City of Light chip.. Ironically, because, as Clarke points out, ALIE tried to steal the memories she's now saved.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Clarke is back in the hallways and meets Josephine, she has her season 5 look again. But when they go back to her cell with the memory wall, she is Ark Clarke again.
She starts kicking Josie's ass as teen Ark Clarke, and ends tit and kills her in the hallway as season 5 Clarke.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up - two locations from Clarke's past where she finds herself to torment herself with guilt.
The first one is the fighting pit, where she meets Blodreina, her projection of guilt for Tondc and the bunker, but mostly for leaving Bellamy in Polis.
Clarke, of course, is still season 5 Clarke here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Running away, she finds herself in her quarantine cell in Mount Weather, where she was in 1x13/ 2x01 (and where she first met Maya).
Only now she's wearing her Wanheda costume from Mount Weather in the season 2 finale.
6x07:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Season 2:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meeting a version of dead Maya as another projection of her guilt, this time about MW, the number of people she's killed in general, Maya and Jasper's deterioration and death.
Tumblr media
Before Clarke realizes she's in control of her mindspace and starts turning things around.
Next up: the cave, where "Maya" claims Clarke hid the memory. Josie says it's a cool place to park. In 5x01,
Clarke actually did park the Rover in that cave and hid from the Eligius prisoners.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Surprise! It was a ruse. The second version of Maya - alive and helpful - electrocutes Josie.
(Hello, another RL object, Diyoza's shock collars from season 5.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Josie brings a particularly ruthless mindspace Russell as reinforcement and Clarke is running from her, we see two more of Clarke's traumatic mindspace places.
Running through the (Eligius 4) hallways, she finds herself in front of the airlock on the Ark, and sees the memory of her father’s death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clarke runs away from it, but Josie realizes that the airlock (aka the memory of Jake Griffin's death) is what leads straight into Clarke's "dark place" and walks into it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike the other locations in Clarke's mindspace, this dark forest place isn't a real place we have seen on the show. It may be symbolic, and it also evokes the fact that Clarke ran away into the forest in the season 2 finale, due to her trauma after Mount Weather.
The place contains deeply meaningful objects (which were never in such a place in real life - Finn died in an open field): Lexa's throne, the pole to which Finn was tied when he died - with the knife Clarke killed him, and the chest Clarke found in the ruined Arkadia  in 5x01, with Jasper's things: his goggles, Maya's music player he kept, and his letter to Monty. Josie replays the memory of Clarke finding the chest and goggles and crying, just as replays the memory of Clarke killing Finn when she takes the knife. The chest is where Clarke hid the important memory from Josie, but Josephine didn’t guess the password (it’s not “100″).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clarke's costume and hairstyle - leather jacket and shirt - looks similar to what she wore in most of season 2, including when she killed Finn, when she first met Lexa and heard that "Love is weakness" (and when Tondc happened, and it all led to more trauma in MW). Her hairstyle is very similar to, but with two tiny braids, this may be a composite look , also evoking Lexa’s death in season 3a when Clarke’s hair was all in braids.
6x07:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2x08, 2x09:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3x07
Tumblr media
This isn’t about props (except for Josephine’s book with her - edited - memory of Bellamy accepting Russell’s deal, which she uses to break Clarke - but I love the effects in this scene.
Tumblr media
Clarke unlocking the chest with the right password ( ("You forgot Bellamy and Raven'). Inside, in addition to the chip-memory of how Raven’s neural mesh was fried, there are more meaningful real life objects, such as Jake's video and Jasper's goggles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Accepting her death, Clarke is back into her peaceful place, her Shallow Valley home, drawing a picture of Madi as a happy normal child living in Sanctum.
She has the 1x01 costume and hair as Delinquent Clarke, who's just landed on Earth.
And is about to be visited by her projection of Monty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the last new location and costume in Clarke's mindspace is concerned. After "Monty" changes her mind she turns back into S5/6 look, and they go to Josie's mindspace.  Which is mostly a library, but her dark place is the fateful diner on pre-Apocalypse Earth, with Christmas decorations (that’s where those were from!), where Josephine was with her friend when her stalked came and killed himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's it for 6x07.
We get a 'sequel' in the mindspace scenes in 6x10 (another one of my favorite episodes).
In that episode, Clarke constantly has her season 5/6 look, even when she wakes up in the mindspace version of her Skybox cell.
6x10 has a slightly different version of the memory wall (it presumably changes according to Clarke's state of mind) - but more about all that in another post...

Fight like a girl: Female characters in The 100.
Tumblr media
RAVEN REYES
“ There's nothing like a little pain to remind you that you're alive”
So... This is the first time that I dare to write completely in English. I’m quite nervous but I consider it necesary to practice. What better way to do this by writing about one of my favorite female characters?  I apologize in advance if something is not clear enough. This is not my language, I’m a Spanish speaker trying to improve her English.
Now then, let's get down to what's really important in this post: What makes Raven Reyes a great female character?
Leaving for granted the fact that we are talking about a character with an incredible charisma and a quite energetic way of being. Raven is the brain of the Bellamy and Clarke team (I'll call it Team Bellarke for simplicity). On more than one occasion, this girl has demonstrated her incredible ability to solve problems ingeniously; her brain has saved everyone's asses more than she could count.
I want to make a little emphasis on this last part: How many times has Raven saved their's asses?
I consider the first time that she saved everyone that occasion in which despite having been infected with a virus that was killing most of the 100, she set out on the road to the bridge, ready to tear it to pieces, it was too risky a move, she put herself at risk to save her friends. And that is incredibly admirable! It is true, it was Jasper who fired the shot and it was Finn who had to get her out of the place but she was the one who knew how to make that homemade bomb. This was the first time that her brain saved them.
Similarly during the first season, Raven was the one who opened the door to the ship so they could save Bellamy from Murphy's malevolent plans. That cost her a lot, because the latter (mistaking her for Octavia) shot her, which was the cause of what would later be a “useless” left leg.
Setting us in the second season, Raven constantly demonstrated everything her brain was capable of, managed to interfere with the Mount Weather signal, told Bellamy how to turn off the acid mist –Although this did not work (not because of Raven but because they were deceived by Cage) and Bell almost died burned– and took it upon herself to blow up the turbines.
During the third season we had a pretty battered Raven after the events of the previous season –have you noticed how much the writers like to make her suffer?– This made her susceptible to Jaha / Allie manipulation.  And despite this, let's remember that she realized that something bad was happening and made a plan to get her out of her head. She also found an entry for Clarke in the City of Light.
During the fourth season she was the one who contributed the most ideas to Team Bellarke to find a solution that would save everyone, it was she who convinced Luna to help them create night blood and it was she who deactivated the drones that attacked them when they arrived to the Becca’s island. It was also she who piloted the ship that put them all in the ring and who started working on a way to get them all back home.
During the fifth season, Raven stayed in Eligius III so Bellemy was not the one to do it. She was willing to kill all those people to save her friends.
In the sixth season (and the last one I'll mention in this post for anti-spoiler reasons) it was Raven who knew what to do to save Madi from Sheidheda.
I’m almost sure that I have not touched all the points where this woman has done everything to take care of the people she loves. Raven isn’t just a character with a brilliant brain, we are talking about a girl who is the only one who has preserved her morality throughout the series, she has had some flaws  –this is The 100 everyone make mistakes– but she has proven to be very capable at the moment of facing whatever comes.
And this brings me to the next point, Raven saved herself from brain death. We all remember the amazing and almost improbable scene that happened with Raven fighting before her probable death, this girl knew how to save herself and that only proves my point of how amazing she is.
Raven may have been that jealous girl who hated Clarke for messing around with her boyfriend but this girl is too valuable to fight over a boy. Instead, she focused on what was necessary at the time: save everyone. And let's not forget that she befriended Clarke, all girls should learn a little bit of from her.
I consider Raven to be a great female character because of her strength, her charisma, her incredible beauty, her way of handling difficult situations before her, her incredible intellect and simply because we are talking about a girl who has had to go through a lot in her life and knows how to live with a big smile.
This is all I have to say regarding this fantastic female figure that I feel Raven Reyes represents in this series. What do you think about she?

most/least kudos challenge
Tagged by @dylanobrienisbatman, @the-most-beautiful-broom, @eyessharpweaponshot, @the-most-beautiful-broom, @justbecauseyoubelievesomething, @thelittlefanpire, and @pawprinterfanfic! Seriously some of my fave people writing out there!!
What are your five most popular works by kudos? (in descending order)
Stardust, In You and In Me [Bellarke Soulmate AU, 630 Kudos] –Clarke Griffin has always scoffed at the idea of soulmates. And it isn’t until college when she meets hers — grumpy, scruffy, and totally stubborn Bellamy Blake. However, luck is on her side since it turns out he’s not too interested in them either. The biggest problem is that she hadn’t even meant to tell him, but it’s too late for that now. So they decide to just be friends and not worry about their matching marks on their bodies that mark them as destined to be together.Clarke’s never tried to battle fate before, but she’s determined to pull this off. Now if only the universe can cooperate with her.
I Heard You [Mileven College AU, 563 Kudos] – El Hopper feels like she has the worst luck when it comes to her laptop and she’s completely lost track of how many times she has to call the campus tech center for help. The only good part of all of it? The mysterious voice of the guy who always seems to answer the phone. Even though she has no idea who he is or even what his name is, El can’t help herself when she feels herself falling for him. Surely one of these days she’ll get to talk with him for a different reason, but for now, she’s stuck with midnight calls and a laptop with a flashing white screen.
In the Gravity of You [Bellarke Fake Dating AU, 299 Kudos] – Dealing with regulars at her bar is something Clarke doesn’t usually mind. But with her bouncer currently on his honeymoon with her primary bartender, Clarke is struggling more than usual. Especially because Finn Collins can’t take a hint. Luckily for her, the unexpected arrival of one Bellamy Blake gives her the out she needs. He slips into the role of her fake boyfriend easily and Clarke suddenly finds herself fighting actual feelings towards him as they get to know each other –– while also convincing Finn that they’re in love.
Prisoner's Dilemma [Bellarke Canon Speculation, 277 Kudos] – While Charmaine is trying to get Bellamy and Clarke to cooperate with her, she realizes that what she had assumed was a hostage taker and his girlfriend is actually a much more complicated situation than she had originally thought. And she’s more than willing to use that to her advantage.
dance away your fear of love [Bellarke Gilmore Girls AU, 207 Kudos] – Life for Bellamy Blake hasn’t changed much in the past few years, not since his mother’s death and he took over her coffee shop in his hometown of Stars Hollow. That is until he receives a phone call from his ex, his high school girlfriend Clarke Griffin. Motherhood brings Clarke back home and from there they slip into new roles, while he battles old forgotten emotions.
What are your five least popular works by kudos? (in ascending order)
and the road gets tough [Marper Road Trip AU, 6 Kudos] – It’s the end of the world and Harper McIntyre is done running. She’s done fighting against a life that relentlessly keeps pushing her down. But she has her son to worry about and she desperately wants him to have a new life and to experience it all. When they hit the road, she’s helped by a kind stranger who changes the course of things. Monty Green represents a life she wished she had been able to have, but it might still be too late.
Straight On Until Morning [Bellamy Blake Peter Pan AU, 8 Kudos] –Bellamy and his unruly band of Delinquents have been living life as they wish. Their days are filled with games and exploring while their nights are spent coordinating attacks against the dreaded Wanheda and her Mountain Men. It's all fun and games in a world where no one gets older. But then a strange man appears one day and Marcus Kane provides a reality check to Bellamy that he's not prepared to accept.
Survivor’s Move [Memori Dystopia AU, 9 Kudos] – In a dying society ruled by an iron fist, it's crucial to stay low. John Murphy has mastered that, an ex-thief doing what he can to stay out of trouble. But trouble finds him with the arrival of another ex-thief, and more importantly, his ex-girlfriend. Emori needs his help and he finds himself confronting their breakup while also trying to express to her the importance she has in his heart.
Hurry [Will Byers Canon, 13 Kudos] – A snapshot of Will Byers’ time in the Upside Down.
only one life can't be enough [Lumax Rebellion AU, 14 Kudos] – Max Mayfield hadn’t meant to get herself involved in the rebellion. But she didn’t have much of a choice after a soldier yelled at her to salute the President when he walked by and she had responded that it was “rather presumptuous to assume she had any respect for their dictator.” Luckily, there’s a quick-thinking teenage boy next to her who helps her escape imprisonment. Lucas Sinclair introduces her to an underground resistance comprised of a people of all ages but all with one goal, to return the rights of the people back to them. There are constant warnings about forming attachments but she and Lucas can’t help the immediate connection they have. Falling in love in the middle of a revolution is a dangerous game to play, but it’s one more thing worth fighting for. [a collection of drabbles from Tumblr]
Since I’m truly the last person to get to this tag lol consider yourself tagged if you see this and haven’t done it! Feel free to tag me so I can share more awesome work!!

Hi, I like your questions for The 100. They get me in the mood for the new season. Mind sharing your own answers? (some or all)
Not at all! Sorry, life came in between. Here they are! (And here’s the original post for those who want to agree, disagree, or agree to disagree…)
1. What do you believe is the most ridiculous thing that ever happened on The 100? I will never get over Octavia surviving a thousand feet fall (after being stabbed)!!
2. At what point after you started watching did you realize there was no way back? Probably after the first opening monologue. Clarke had me with “Reality sucks”, haha.
3. With what character(s) would you never survive quarantine, simply because they’re so annoying? I can’t help it, but S3/4 Jasper annoyed the crap out of me. Wouldn’t wanna be alone with Titus either, that dude was just so creepy.
4. If you could be together with one half of your favorite ship, knowing that *they* would never ever be together (again), would you go for it? Who comes up with these questions?! (Oh right… me) Aaargh… Okay, I’d like to say: I wouldn’t. Cause even though it would be freaking hot and all, I’m afraid we wouldn’t be the greatest match in the long haul. (Of course this is my sober answer, drunken me might decide differently. Sorry Clarke!)
5. In case you would, please do tell: who would it be and which ship did you just wreck? Lexa / Clexa. Who else?
6. Who do you - honestly - identify with most? Niylah
7. Ever used any The 100 quotes or phrases - English or Trigedasleng - in real life, whether or not by accident? My cousin and I told each other to “Go float yourself!” more than once, though always with love & laughter.
8. How many times did you had to watch S3 to really understand (and maybe even appreciate) the full A.L.I.E. & City of Light story? ;) Two or three times, at least! :D It helped to (eventually) watch it with subs, and also to be less distracted by my initial Clexa and Lincoln pain.
9. If you can change three things from the past six seasons - except for preventing/bringing back the deaths - what would it be? I would kill Titus before he gets the chance to… do any harm… in general… to, you know, whoever. (*insert innocent face*) I would also somehow hang on to the Grounder culture. I feel like there was a lot more to explore there, but ever since S5 it seems to be getting less and less important. Finally, I’d undo some hairdo changes (I can not get over Clarke’s short hair, Bellamy’s beard and the loss of Raven’s ponytail - lol).
10. Which three characters would you save from dying? Lexa and Lincoln for sure. I can’t really decide between Luna and Shaw, but since Shaw also affects Raven, I’ll pick him. But they all deserved better!
11. Did Finn deserve his death sentence? He kinda did, didn’t he? I’m not a fan of an eye for an eye, but he did kill 18 innocent people.
12. Is there any character you kind of wish dead at some point, yet by now you’re thankful the writers don’t always give us what we want? Let’s say I’m really glad Murphy and Echo are still around!
13. Which character do you reckon is the funniest? I think Murphy, Raven and Clarke are all pretty dry at times. I’m gonna go with Indra though. By now I don’t even know how canon these moments are (and I don’t really care), but thinking about her rolling her eyes at Clexa just cracks me up every single time.
14. Any musical moment that stands out for you? I absolutely loved the use of Radiohead’s Exit Music (For A Film) at the end of season 1, and Murphy going wild in S6 on This Is The Sea by The Waterboys!
15. If you had to join a kru, other than Trikru and before Wonkru, which one would you pick? Ice Nation! No, just kidding. Probaby Floukru, because of their philosophy and their water world (they know scuba diving!), or Louwoda Kliron Kru, since their Valley used to look so charming.
16. Imagine a one-on-one fight-to-the-death duel between (Heda) Lexa and (Blodreina) Octavia. Who would win? From what they say I would think Lexa, but from what I saw… I kinda hate it, but I think I’d have to bet on Octavia.
17. If you were forced to choose, and none would kill you, what would you take: the Flame, a City of Light chip or a Mind Drive? Until Madi’s experiences with it I would probably pick the Flame (though the dreams and voices would probably drive me insane), but knowing it can lurk you to the dark side I think I go for the Mind Drive after all. But taking it doesn’t mean using it - I won’t allow others to resurrect me in a new host!
18. “There are no good guys.” True or false? False. Even though all of them made a lot of mistakes, poor choices and very bad decisions, I have to believe that at least some of them do have good intentions and are - if they’re willing to - able to be good guys.
19. From what we’ve seen the Anomaly seems to be some portal to other worlds or times. If it were up to you, would you make the remaining survivors transport to some time in the future, where they find peace at last OR go back in time to the start of the show, where they have to go through hell again trying to do better - yet with everyone back alive? Am I a total bitch for making them go all through it again, in the hope for a better outcome?
20. Alright, go wild: how do you think and/or hope The 100 will end? With this show you never really know, do you? If the Anomaly really is a portal I expect them to use it, bringing those who survive to another place or even time. They could jump back and reunite with some loved ones… but wouldn’t that just make it Lost 2.0 (which I haven’t finished btw so don’t answer this!)?!
I expect to lose a few more mains. I’m worried about Echo, because I think they might want Bellamy and Clarke together, without making Bell look like an ass by dumping or cheating on Echo. (Personally I don’t think the ending should be about who ends up with who, since this show has never really been about that, but - although it’s not gonna happen - I stick with hoping Clarke and Niylah get together again, simply because Niylah is exactly what Clarke needs and deserves.) Raven deserves a good outcome as well, but I can’t really picture it yet. Maybe becoming some big deal in their new world, as a new (and better!) version of Becca?
I most of all just want the ending to be satisfying. It might not be. I’ve been disappointed by final episodes more than once, and I actually get it. I get how hard it is to write an ending that will make everyone happy. So I’m prepared for it and I keep in mind that it’s about the journey first, and the destination second. And so far it’s been a pretty good trip. So yeah. Whatever. Just bring it on! ;)

May 21: The 100 2x11 Coup De Grace
It’s late, my computer’s more tired than I am (and hardcore hates me and very well may decide to eat this entire post who even knows), and this is probably a bad idea but I’m gonna do it anyway.
Or at least start.
Another episode, or partial episode, of The 100.
This opening torture sequence makes me so uncomfortable. Which like I get is the point but tbh I’m just not into ‘look how unflinching we are at the realities of Bad Stuff.’ Especially when my tired computer is skipping and the sequence becomes, like...trippy. Trippier.
This is probably a super bad idea because my computer literally cannot handle video lol. I am going to restart it.
It’s actually kind of nuts that Monty’s been missing for 2 days and Harper even longer and Jasper and Maya are like ‘this is weird and upsetting but I guess we’ll find them somewhere!!’ Well, Maya more than Jasper. Mount Weather isn’t THAT big.
“You have to look like nothing’s wrong. Like everything’s okay” is so sad. I think it’s situations like that that make S2 my favorite, just b/c I’m a sucker for scenarios of enclosed tension. Like, forget war and blah blah blah, I want this, like... secretive, spying, being spied upon, uncertainty. That’s the real horror in a satisfying way.
Gosh his haircut is awful though.
When does Clarke learn to ride a horse?
I have literally no idea what’s happening bc I rewatch these eps so infrequently.
Clarke just got “yes ma’amed.” I find that semi-hilarious, not because she’s 18 but because you knew Grounders used words like “ma’am.”
I love Clarke’s single-mindedness. “We can’t stop for water. We can’t stop for anything. We’re on a mission. And Bellamy might have called!” AWWNH!Clarke is so OOC lol but she has a different background okay?
I’m not really in the mood to trust Abby about anything. Does she... actually make good decisions? I feel like you’d have to track her through all of the seasons but I am inclined to say...perhaps......not.
So the Mountain Men tried to assassinate Clarke and Lexa. Completely forgot about that.
The introduction of Echo. I just... I just have no opinions on her, I guess. Literally my only opinion is that she should have been the Ice Queen and, not being the Ice Queen, she’s just not interesting to me. I will say, she couldn’t have been in Mount Weather long if she knew who the Sky People are, as they’ve only been on the ground about a month. But also...why does she hate them? They were only fighting with Trikru, and Azgeda territory isn’t even, like, in the vicinity.
I love Dante but he has some major balls looking Jasper in the face and saying he doesn’t know where his friends are. I mean, he doesn’t, because Cage stole them, but how do you just MISPLACE people in a 600,000 square foot bunker? Where COULD they go?
I’m sure I’ve said this before but as someone who went to a high school with a uniform I find it HIGHLY unrealistic that all these teenage boys tuck in their shirts and keep them tucked in all the time without exceptions.
Jasper being protective of Monty <3<3<3.
So it was MW that told them there were no Ark survivors. Did I know that? Did I forget that? Not that it matters as my Clarke/Maya fic is done lol.
Dante is the most Hilarious and Wonderful of all of the attempted father figures on this show I said what I said--they’re all terrible but at least he bring the Weird Father Figure energy to 11. I’ll lie to you but it’s to protect you, call you son (always weird), super good at self-defense--ah-ha! sword at at your neck!
“This is not a toy.” If the sword is in MW it’s probably Important and Famous.
IMO and I completely stand by this assessment, it’s harder for Jasper to be brave than it is for other people, and he was really brave, and it worked, and I’m proud of him.
I realize this is also a problem with the literal world but we actually do know that torture isn’t effective so Indra being all upset that she’s not allowed to torture Emerson is just so....exhausting to me. Like Clarke isn’t suggesting not torturing him bc she loves the high ground and must walk it at all times. She’s suggesting not torturing him bc the last time she tortured someone, she got 0 good information. And even though neither of them know it, it was the shit information garnered from torture that led Finn to TonDC! Also if they had let Emerson die, the Grounder would have also still died--it’s not that they chose to use resources on one and not the other. They had two different types of wounds. I mean I guess if they’d brought them in faster without patching up Emerson in the field? That’s probably what she meant. However the Grounder Death Cult and their complete willingness to declare their fight over at the merest papercut makes me again less sympathetic to this point of view.
I’d literally already forgotten that someone tried to assassinate Clarke like an hour earlier. Abby doesn’t need to be concerned about that, lol, Clarke’s used to it!
Okay first I did have a longstanding headcanon that Echo had a crush on Bellamy going way back--I mean that’s practically canon, yeah?--but now I’m super convinced because in their second scene together, he sacrifices himself for her using information she gave him (that MW takes the loud/strong looking ones), even though she greeted him by spitting in his face, and actually, that was very heroic and selfless of him. I’d fall in love too.
Second, I thought she had no tattoos because she’s a spy or w/e but I CLEARLY see tattoos on her legs. And they are not white either.
I don’t think I ever realized that Maya found Bellamy because she was in the infirmary/harvest chamber looking for Harper and Monty. I do not have a good memory for each scene leading into the next. AND she think she’s found them when she sees how fast the random patient’s treatment is working, because that has to be a Sky Person and she would never guess Bellamy.
They really do just talk about their little torture machine casually all the time. “I need to go over the treatment schedule so I know how many cages to clear.”
Hey so like how did Maya get in if she’s not cleared for this facility?
What a wonderful time to remember yet again that if Bellamy knows who Maya is from her reference to Jasper, Clarke, who saw Maya and Jasper flirt like ONE TIME, must have told him about them, which is cute and funny all at once.
Maya: “I wanted to see what was so special about him, but... he’s dead.” Bellamy: Ah yes! I’m dead! * immediately closes his eyes * Why am I laughing so hard at this?
Good thing they take dead bodies down slowly instead of just thunking them on their heads.
Maya, Bellamy, and Echo v. Lovejoy is a pretty satisfying fight. Also, what did Clarke just say about Emerson talking b/c they saved his life? Echo helps Bellamy because he saved her life. Sometimes you get more flies with honey.
I tend to forget that Bellamy literally strangled this guy with his bare hands. Like it was self-defense to some degree, in that this had to be a fight to the death, but it was also just pure fucking rage. Like he said, he (like Clarke for a while) wants to kill everyone in the Mountain.
And then he thanks Echo and asks Maya if she’s all right. A True Catch. Tbh I could see something forming out of Echo and Bellamy here, but not after some of the later twists and turns in the later narrative.
Honesty, I’ve always loved Maya but... let’s just appreciate her, shall we? That was horrific, seeing someone she knew killed in front of her--and helping, because she knew he was on the wrong side, even though that was the same side she’d been on her whole life. Is she completely in the moment, or is she already seeing that there’s no way out for her here? That the people they’ve brought into the Mountain are really going to destroy it?
Bellamy coming out in Lovejoy’s clothes looks like a kid trying on new clothes at the mall before the new school year. Except he’s just dumped a body down a trash chute.
Like “I’ll come back for you, I promise”--I can see a basis for a ship in that. So far it is 100% built on how Echo would have to be dumb not to fall in love with Bellamy but still.
This Maya and Bellamy scene is amazing. I love every aspect of it.
Lemme just...watch that Jonty hug on repeat.
Honestly they even ended the scene with them walking out the door together even though there’s no way anyone could have moved Harper that fast and there’s also no indication of who moved her or how. Guess she’s...not that important...?? LOL??
Kane has only two modes: fairly ineffectual bastard or utterly ineffectual neo-hippie. “You’re not grasping the situation! We’re nice! Be nice to us!” I probably shouldn’t mock him bc he is me lol, I also would not know what else to say to Emerson other than ‘please????’ but still. Common sense and peace and love would be great but those aren’t shared values I guess.
And then he goes 180 to ‘let’s torture him then?’
What you should be doing is good cop bad cop. Or like, wearing him down with repeated questioning? I heard that’s an effective interrogation technique, although here Emerson has a certain advantage of time and that his interrogators are way more easily annoyed than he is easily worn down or confused.
Anyway I remember now. Clarke ultimately solves this problem with that ultimate BDE moment, sending him with a message and 6 hours of oxygen. She really is just the Smartest.
At least Kane acknowledges that the Chancellorship is a completely random title since Abby literally just kinda stole it? Like Jaha is the rightful Chancellor and Kane is the second-most-rightful Chancellor and she’s just sorta...there? But it also doesn’t matter because as established, Clarke is the one actually in charge.
This Bellamy and Maya elevator scene is also the kind of tension that I like. Is Bellamy...legitimately considering shooting him? In the elevator? That would end badly lol. He has this idea to just start randomly offing people in public/enclosed places, while Lexa is all like ‘we can’t save TonDC bc it would blow Bellamy’s cover!’ like the irony.
I wonder if the MW classes are like...to some end, like, mandatory schooling that must be completed, or if they’re just like for funsies? I think the second, partially because it’s an “Expressionist class” which doesn’t seem like the Three Rs and partially because this dude doesn’t seem upset that Maya didn’t show, like he’s just vaguely wondering where she was.
“We’ve accomplished great things” in that tone is like the MOST American thing I have ever heard. (I can say this because I’m American.)
“We’ve been bleeding people to stay alive for generations. That’s our legacy” is true in the sense that Dante’s line in the sane is...truly in the sand. But also has it been ‘generations’? I’m not sure you understand how time works, show-as-a-whole. I mean maybe this is technically true? They probably discovered Grounders like....50 years ago? Which is sort of “generations.” But when you say it like that it makes it sound way longer.
You wanna root for Dante over Cage because he’s on the side of our heroes but in terms of like bitter logic Cage has the advantage. What they’ve already done and what Dante has managed to rationalize to himself is bad enough. They’re already Doing Bad Things, doing yet more bad things isn’t going to bother anyone. Especially when these extra bad things (1) come out to the same--torturing/killing people and (2) lead them to a permanent home on the ground.
I wonder if Dante/MW justified what they did to Grounders with stories of them being like...irradiated mutants. Like literally inhuman. So it ‘doesn’t count.’ I mean objectively they’re wrong of course but I mean in their heads. And then for Dante the line is so obvious between killing radiation casualties and killing just normal humans like themselves, whereas for Cage--who sees the Grounders more because of Cerberus, and knows they don’t look that much different, that they are also just people underneath the masks and big clothes--sees no difference between the Grounders and the Sky People, and if he’s already sullied himself by using one set, he can continue sullying himself, for a greater cause, by using the other set. It’s just a question of which story you’re telling yourself and how much you’re willing to lie.
The plotting of this season is, overall, very good. Especially in the second half.
I think Clarke’s default mode when stressed is order giving. It’s part of the control thing. She’s okay if she has everything under control, and if she knows everything, and when she has all that knowledge and control it just...spills out of her, directing people with what they need to do and where they need to go.
Whereas Raven’s in full ‘falling out of love with Clarke’ mode.
Also I think Clarke is very quick to comfort people and she is genuine in this but because she ALSO has her agenda and her strident tone and her controlled demeanor, it can look like manipulation. Or at least, if I were her friend, I would always wonder if she really cared or if she just wanted me to calm down so my emotions weren’t in the way of The Plan.
My 15 second Raven, Clarke, and Octavia scene. Lemme just rewatch this a bunch of times too.
“Jackson found genetic marker anomalies that can only come from someone born on the Ark.” Remember when people were theorizing that this was a big deal in some way? The Arkers were genetically modified to withstand space? I remember that being a theory. Anyway in retrospect, it’s just a Plot Device. Possibly a Pseudo-Science Plot Device I would not know.
Never mind. “We were genetically engineered. They weren’t.” So it is in fact canon, just meaningless canon. HOW IS THIS SOME RANDOM THROWAWAY LINE?
Clarke’s feral moments are the best.
It’s cute how Abby continues to think Clarke isn’t in charge.
Having Bell run into Lovejoy’s son is cheap but effective. I still remember that scene and I can really feel the full effect on him through Bob’s acting and the music. I also always remember that line “What did you expect you’d find here?” Because the answer is obviously ‘monsters.’ They had their simple narrative too: about how MW were the bad guys and thus they could destroy them all and it would be vengeful and feel good. But it’s more complicated than that: everyone in the Mountain is complicit in terrors. But many of them passively so. Bellamy was ready to kill all of them, and so was Clarke, but he changes his mind based on this encounter, tells her about it over the radio, and makes HER change her mind and in fact change her entire plan, by the time she explains it in 2x15.
And it’s sad for Maya too because Bellamy is being aided by her but she is still a Mountain Person. It’s easy to say ‘she’s an exception, she’s Jasper’s friend, she’s our friend.’ But she’s done everything he hates the Mountain for. If the whole Mountain is evil, she’s evil. And to the extent you can’t be both pro-MW and pro-Sky People, she’s put in this impossible position of choosing sides, or trying to switch sides abruptly. Bellamy sees that, and it’s like yet one more additional layer to his guilt over what he did, because he sees a new angle to how it affected Maya,  without whom he’d be dead.
Jonty the leader couple. And Jasper’s face when Monty says “We’re not safe here.”
S2 is my favorite bc of plotting like this episode: just as the 47 are about to leave, Cage stages his coup. Just as Bellamy is about to see his friends, the doors lock and they’re trapped. The moment when Jasper sees Bellamy--with absolutely no reason to believe this could even be possible. In trying to plan fics that use S2 I tend to get confused about the plot bc it goes back and forth and circles around a lot, but in actually watching it, it’s quite effective, and I think part of the circling confusion is just bc there are so many moving parts, people need to be in the right places at the right times, meet and separate at the right moments, so it can read awkwardly in summary. But they did a good job ultimately, I think.
Another thing about S2 generally is that even though it’s much more expansive than S1 in terms of locations and number of characters and groups of characters, ultimately almost everything revolves around one story (except for the CoL setup stuff), and 2 main locations that have meaning, with various points in between. So it is more concise and more centralized and more meaningful than later seasons, which become increasingly spread out and disjointed. Or so I try to explain to myself at 1am.
Yaaaay emotional Princess Mechanic and then Bravenlarke. I live for these moments when characters are just like...emotional together.
I don’t know if I find it realistic that Clarke would be like ‘it’s over’ so fast but nevertheless I like Raven and Bellamy picking her back up.
Clarke’s relieved face...she’s in love.
Bellamy: I’m fine. Me: He’s a liar!!! But I guess they can talk about his emotions later.
When they’re all together, they’re all better. Like immediately. Even Clarke’s “Raven’s going to help you” with a little look to her, like, this isn’t an order, and Raven nods....
I love that Bellamy took Maya’s expression to mean “It’s not a problem” when it quite obviously meant “It’s a huge problem.” But also Clarke smiled for .05 seconds so I think she knew he was a-lying. This could be a sitcom if it were a totally different show.
Weirdly, I watched part of 2x15 again for a fic I decided not to write atm and...they don’t actually use the Grounders as a Trojan Horse army. Their plan NOT to kill everyone including the kids meant basically that they used their real army as a distraction and then just took the inside-Grounders out the back way. Or that was the idea. Which in retrospect is actually kind of disappointing.
Clarke’s power walk through the hallway with her Grounder Entourage is just so....satisfying. This is the emotional payoff that got me into this show.
Clarke just literally staging a coup against her own mother, using the Grounder force that sees her as a leader, is so.... I feel like I have never appreciated it before this rewatch. I think in the past I found it kind of annoying tbh. But this time I like it a lot more. I like Clarke’s just insane levels of confidence and self-assurance. It is a good look.
First of all the parallel to the Wallaces. But more importantly, I always wanted this big story line of Delinquents Versus Arkers that never fully came as I wanted it, but this is pretty close, where she’s just used to being in charge by now, so you know what, she is. And the only thing she needs to make her desire for power real is muscle, which she has, thanks to Lexa, so she uses it. It’s also very satisfying. And should ultimately have been the groundwork for the delinquents to form a separate community but WHAT DO I KNOW?
All that said, and this isn’t contradictory, but Clarke picks like the MOST inflammatory way to go about her plan. She just does it, she gives no explanation, she stages a showdown at the gate with her own Mom the Chancellor. There is a subtler way of doing this. But I like that she didn’t do subtle because it’s IC for her. It’s IC for her age (who is more Dramatique than a teen?) and it’s IC for her place in her hero’s arc: under L’s influence, she’s becoming big-headed, leaning into the sin of pride, here in the form of “I do can do no wrong,” and by 2x16 in the form of “I can do no right, no one has ever been more wrong than I, no one has ever been more sorrowful than I, let me perform penance in the woods.”
Pride: the most annoying deadly sin.
Anyway.
And Kane, who always bows to the Alpha Female in the room, immediately enables Clarke’s Drama.
“Let our people go and we’ll let you live. It’s just that simple.”
“The Grounder army is bigger than you think and the acid fog can’t hurt them” is honestly a bluff though? Because again, they do not use or even PLAN to use the inside Grounders and they DO plan to take out the acid fog so??? I guess the point, if she was protecting Bellamy, WAS the bluff, WAS the distraction.
I think it was unnecessary to take out his O2 but I guess she’s really just showing off, which again is IC and I guess has the purpose of showing MW she means business and is Not To Be Fucked With. Still, it is important that her message make it to MW since it’s the distraction Bellamy asked for, so it seems like something of a risk to make it hard for the messenger to arrive home safely.
I do like that she gets to use that classic retort “That sounds like a you problem.”
And so.... I meant to go to sleep like 3 hours ago, and my power is flickering. Time for bed. The end, goodnight.

Bellamy Overview
Let me place a disclaimer before I write this that Bellamy Blake is the most ignored lead I have ever seen. His arcs since season 4 (and even before) have revolved around someone else. Octavia, Clarke and Echo.
I don’t care which shipping fandom you are in or whether you like Bellamy or not because we can all agree that Bellamy has always made decisions based on what he believed was good for his people. First, I will address the culling in season one: Bellamy had no way of knowing that taking the radio from Raven would result in three hundred deaths. All he knew was that Octavia was “his people” and he wanted to be with her and protect her. What he did was wrong but unlike later seasons both Clarke and especially Raven called him out on his decision. Then in day trip we saw how guilty he felt and how he wanted to die for what he had done. He was never content nor guilt free. Ultimately, it was Clarke that helped him forgive himself. I will note that for those that say Bellamy caused the flares to be launched that burned grounder villages, we have seen how dangerous grounders are. In terms of war, they made the first attack by spearing Jasper and then hanging him up.
In season one, Bellamy’s arc went from shooting Jaha to protect Octavia to leading and caring about a group delinquents. This season showed his greatest on screen character change, Bellamy “whatever the hell we want” Blake changed to knowing Clarke had to close the drop ship door to protect his people “delinquents” Blake. His attitude with Octavia also changed where he stopped treating her like a child and recognized her growth.
Then in season 2, Bellamy spends the first five episodes fighting to find his people, Clarke and co. In episode 4, Bellamy chooses to save the girl hanging from the cliff rather than continue his search for the moment, effectively changing his narrative to not choosing which life is more valuable. Immediately, after reuniting with Clarke he thinks about Finn and Murphy and how he has to find them before Finn does something stupid. (At this point, I believe Bellamy has feelings for Clarke based off script and directing) Later on, Bellamy even fights to try to save Finn but it doesn’t work. A lot of Bellamy’s arc this season surrounds Clarke. Specifically, the key words and lines they have him say“he would do anything for her, it just makes sense”. But he truly gains his own arc and rights as a leader in the eyes of the adults through becoming the inside man in Mount Weather. Where he finally sees eye to eye with grounders (Echo) if only for a moment. In his eyes grounders finally become human. (Although, all of this development is erased through the season finale and season three). His arc comes full circle and joins with Clarke’s where they pull the lever choosing to save their people and condemning all others to death. In the end, Clarke makes the decision to bear the decision on her own leaving Bellamy, who is also struggling with his choices to bear it by himself as well. Clarke pulled away at a time when both of them needed each other, to a certain extent Bellamy is the bigger person because he chooses to face his decision rather than running.
In between season two and three, Clarke is still struggling over the genocide in Mount Weather. Bellamy is not shown struggling with it on screen like Clarke rather with the help of friends and mentors he is able to understand why he had to do it. A really big off screen development is Gina, she was to Bellamy what Lexa was to Clarke. (Even timeline wise Clarke was with Lexa for 2-3 moths and Gina and Bellamy we’re together for that long) She helped Bellamy bear the burden of his decision by making him know he can be loved again. (I wish we could have seen that on screen). Through this entire time Bellamy is still looking for Clarke especially after he hears of the bounty. The audience can tell he cares for her a lot. Only to have a grounder who he trusted, Echo, to betray him and while he fights to “save” Clarke the ice nations caused the death of the people he killed for and his girlfriend. Then, at the same time to see Clarke side with Lexa (who in his mind betrayed them) and have her turn him away again, and turn away from their people because unlike him she couldn’t face her choices.
The reverse happens between them. Clarke find help and love with Lexa while Bellamy loses himself with Pike and with the pain of his loss. He blames himself. Now he blames himself for mount weather and Gina and co. I don’t blame Bellamy for his decisions in season three because they didn’t come out of nowhere. Bellamy got lost in revenge that also fueled others who had lost loved ones to grounders. Yes what he did was stupid and horrible and he confronts those decisions later on in the season. Octavia doesn’t let him forget.
Both Bellamy and Clarke lose themselves in season three, Clarke to love and duty and Bellamy to pain and heartbreak. Bellamy’s arc ends with him once again becoming a knight (although in dented armor) with Clarke’s help and Clarke feeling the loss Bellamy felt but having her best friend there to keep her head straight. Ultimately, Bellamy’s biggest lost this season was his sister. Essentially, this arc shapes the next season and I don’t think his character changes much.
In season 4, Bellamy goes back to his roots and need to save others, the 100 included. In the end of the season, Bellamy chooses to fight for his sister and Kane and all those stuck above because he chooses to not value skaikru’s lives over others. This season reemphasizes that after season 3, Bellamy and Clarke’s need for each other and how they keep each other balanced. I think Bellamy’s stupid decision was saving the people in ice nation, it was the right thing to do but it condemned 400 hundred to death because the arc could no longer sustain everyone. Anyways, Bellamy continues to fight for what he deems right. He doesn’t have a big arc change except for thinking his sister died to her forgiving him and realizing how much he cared for Clarke. Also, at the end of season four he chooses to keep Echo from killing herself even though she killed the love of his life, skaikru, and tried to kill his sister (he thought she did for a time).
Season five is shit. Bellamy’s entire philosophy changes. Where he wasn’t willing to sacrifice Octavia at any age but was perfectly fine with letting Madi take on the curse of the Commanders. Even though they could have found another way. I don’t know which way but if there was one thing Clarke wouldn’t let happen is anything to Octavia because she knew how important she was to Bellamy. Clarke even stood up to Lexa about endangering Octavia. And for Bellamy to care more about his assasin girlfriend who can take of herself because she’s a badass than a young girl is ridiculous. He even tries to kill his sister to have Madi become commander and save his family. Here’s a hot idea pit Clarke and Octavia against each other stop trying with a child. Try the night blood again if you have to, we know now Clarke could have taken it. But let me set it straight Clarke wasn’t in the right mind either but that was her child and she was right to not want her to take on that curse.
I still don’t know what Bellamy’s arc was this season. There doesn’t seem to be one and any development is off screen. He spends some time caring deeply Echo and his so called family. Scheming with Clarke again and trying to kill his sister. I guess this is logically thinking Bellamy. ....If anyone can explain season five Bellamy to me please do.
Then, in season six we again don’t see an arc for Bellamy. instead he becomes a horrible boyfriend and sacrifices everything for Clarke. It’s like season five didn’t exist and Bellamy went back to himself. Interestingly enough in the Red Sun episode, Echo is called Bellamy’s dutiful spy verse Raven calling him Clarke’s knight. Except we saw that Clarke and Bellamy were a team but it seemed that Echo was at her best without him. I loved season six because it was both head and heart Bellamy but mostly heart when he lost Clarke. He was smart and strategic and honestly I liked that he didn’t forgive Octavia immediately because she didn’t deserve it but I loved the sibling moments we got later on.
OVERALL: Bellamy’s arcs were better and more focused earlier on when they didn’t just revolved around Clarke, Octavia, or Echo. I want to see him grow go from I have too many sins to count to I know what I’ve done and I’m willing to get better and do more than dwell on the past.
I want him on his own journey. But it seems like the beginning of next season he will be focused on Octavia then Echo/Clarke and end with him sitting. Hopefully he has a subplot, I love the idea of Bellarke but if the writers choose to not make them romantic, then have them go on a besties journey towards their own realizations on the past. Sort of like Octavia and Diyoza but more plot A and plot B and on the way get Clarke a hot boyfriend/girlfriend. Also, if becho is endgame they need to develop that more through flashbacks because Tasya doesn’t deserve all the hate she gets from the toxic side of the fandom,
If anyone tells me he will die I will cry he is so precious and doesn’t deserve that type of ending. He’s made mistakes but has learned from them. If you can forgive Clarke you can forgive Bellamy considering the two are similar.

Bellamy A POC!! WHO DIDNT KILL ANYONE!! Who’s been around for seven seasons!! The male lead the heart of the show the one who has ALWAYS been there for Clarke for SEVEN SEASONS!!! He got shot as if he meant nothing???
they gave Bellamy the WORST death on the show or any show/movie I’ve ever seen! they could’ve made her accidentally shoot him or made him die any other way but not by making Clarke WILLINGLY shoot him when she didn’t even kill the villain that killed her mother!! But she shot BELLAMY OUT OF ALL PEOPLE??? Just because she didn’t approve of the way he was going about SAVING everyone????
and now he didn’t even transcend?? he was the ONLY one that believed in this cause!!! Yet didn’t transcend??
he was left behind to rot on the floor on A DIFFERENT PLANET no one buried him no one held him in their arms telling him he did good telling him his fight is over he didn’t even get “may we meet again”!!! he got nothing but a shot to his heart from the person that meant so much to him the person he risked everything for the person he brought back to life and that’s it he’s gone forever
And on top of that they made Clarke see the person she only known for two weeks when she was 18 which is over 6 years ago (add 100+ years) in which most of the time she was her enemy a person she barley even knew to the point where she didn’t know her password she thought it was a quote about war?? this person is the one she saw?? not her mother? not her daughter? Not Bellamy?? Not Wells?? You can’t tell me this wasn’t fan service especially knowing they only made lexa matter to Clarke after the backlash they received from her death
Bellamy Blake deserved better Clarke Griffin deserved better Bellarke deserved better WE deserved better than a writer that just used us for views then spat on our faces as if we aren’t the reason his show made it this far

Octavia as The 100′s Jesus Figure, Part 3: Planet Alpha and the Second Passion of Octavia Blake
Now we come to the culmination of Octavia’s Jesus story. You can read the first two parts here (“Origin Story and the Meeting of Two Saviours”) and here (“Saving Humanity and the First Passion of Octavia Blake”).
As I said in the last post, Octavia’s first Passion narrative, after the bunker was opened, was incomplete, and thus she did not die on her cross - her mission continued. The opening of season 6 made this very evident.
Trial and Judgment
Tumblr media
One thing lacking from Octavia’s first Passion narrative was a trial where she was judged by the people and by Pontius Pilate - now here in the cafeteria on Eligius IV, that aspect is fulfilled. Octavia reminds Wonkru of what she did for them, yet they beat her for it (“Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists.” Matthew 26:67). While the crowd wants her death, Abby as Pontius Pilate steps in. Pilate did not see a reason to charge Jesus - paralleling the fact that Abby is one of the only people who knows that Octavia is not guilty the way people believe her to be - and tries to wash his hands of the situation. Abby gets the crowd to spare Octavia, but only by telling them that living with herself was a worse punishment. With this final unloading of her own guilt onto Octavia, Abby washes her hands of her.
When they get to the ground, Bellamy steps into his role as Peter once more, denying Octavia three times - “What the hell is she doing here?” (end of 6x02), “What are you even doing here?” (beginning of 6x03) and “My sister died a long time ago” (end of 6x03). This last one is significant, because this was also the moment when Bellamy cast his final judgment on her and sentenced her to death in the forest - for what would follow would then be the road to Golgotha, the place of her crucifixion.
Tumblr media
The path that Jesus takes to his crucifixion is known as the “Via Dolorosa” (Way of Suffering), and Christian tradition has determined a number of Stations of the Cross that are represented along this way where Jesus carried his cross. The main features on this route are the Falls (where Jesus physically faltered in carrying the cross) and the Encounters (where Jesus met people along the way).
Octavia has her experience of both of these on her way to the Anomaly. She is beaten and held captive by the Children of Gabriel, trapped in the Crucible and aged by the temporal flare, and as its effects spread, she begins to lose her mind. She meets others in her journey, including Rose, Jade, Diyoza and Gabriel. This whole experience in the wilderness finally leads to the Anomaly - Octavia’s Golgotha.
Crucifixion and Resurrection
Tumblr media
Octavia’s crucifixion begins with her dash into the Anomaly - which she again does to save her people (Diyoza, the last she has of them). She runs back out what appears to be only a few seconds later (though we know it was much longer than that), but she hasn’t been resurrected yet - her suffering on the Cross has happened off-screen (with a story and experience yet to be revealed). She returns from the Anomaly in a state of limbo, as it were, unsure of what she experienced and unsure of what is to come. To complete her resurrection, she needs to go into her mindspace and face her demons - which she does successfully, and returns to life with her mission clear.
In the following episodes, Octavia meets those she’d lost before, and they don’t know quite what to make of her. Her commitment to do better and bring light to the world clear, she convinces Bellamy to go along with the peaceful plan to save their people. She convinces everyone to join her and Gabriel to save all of the people, not just their own. She dives through fire to stop the Sanctum priestess from using her self-immolation to set the tavern on fire.
Tumblr media
In so doing, her status as a messenger is revealed to everyone - Gabriel sees the Anomaly Stone tattoo on her back, and it confirms to him - and tells the others - what should have been clear from the beginning of this story: Octavia is special in a way few others of this narrative are.
Ascension
Tumblr media
After the dust settles in Sanctum, Octavia, Gabriel, Bellamy and Echo head back towards the Anomaly to solve the mystery of the Anomaly Stone, using the key that is tattooed on Octavia’s back. She presses the octonion, last symbol of the code - the first letter of her name, a sign that her coming was prophesied centuries before (“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel.” Isaiah 9:14).
As the Anomaly rushes out to engulf more of the moon, Octavia remembers what happened in there (though we’re not yet privy to the details) and knows what is to come. Hope enters the tent, and to the shock of everyone except Octavia, drives a knife into her belly. Octavia’s acceptance of her fate and her whisper of “be brave, tell him it’s done” into Hope’s ear takes us back to the crucifixion narrative that we have yet to get the details on (“Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” John 19:30).
Tumblr media
Bellamy catches Octavia in another image reminiscent of that of Mary holding Jesus’ body, and Octavia’s ascension follows immediately after, as the Anomaly claims her as its own again, and she vanishes from Bellamy’s arms in a swirl of green mist.
On This Rock I Will Build My Church
Tumblr media
So what does this mean for season 7? Has Octavia vanished from the present narrative for all time, or will she return in her Second Coming?
Right now that’s unclear, and I know I’ll have many speculative posts to come over this hiatus. But the end scene does make clear that whatever happens, Bellamy is going to have a key role in it. In 6x11, Octavia reaffirms Bellamy’s status as Peter by calling him her rock (“And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church” Matthew 16:18), despite his earlier denials of her. When Octavia vanishes, her blood remains on his hands, a reminder that it was him casting her out that set her on this path to begin with. The finale closes out with him falling to his knees in the forest and screaming her name.
This should mean that Bellamy will take up the cause of learning his sister’s story - both the missing crucifixion narrative in the Anomaly and the story of her mission in the bunker that so far he only has bits and pieces of, likely told by people who did not understand her true narrative role. Once he knows her story, he’ll make his amends to her (which he’s neglected over the past two seasons), be that personally upon her Second Coming, or in her memory as he works to do better, fighting for the unity that she always championed.
The finales of The 100 always close out with a new mystery, but this is the first time one has ended with such an abrupt cliffhanger. While some finales have left some people’s fates unclear, such as season 1, this is the first one where not only is a fate unclear, but the circumstances surrounding it. We didn’t know at the end of season 1 if Bellamy and Finn survived the ring of fire, but had they not, there wouldn’t have been a mystery to it. Here, there is a very big mystery.
Why? Why end on a cliffhanger like this? Simply put - because Octavia is special. Her storyline can’t be resolved in a few short minutes, and after relegating her to the C plot for most of the season, that’s all they would have been left with. But by closing out like this, the show reminds us that she is an important - possibly the most important - part of this show’s mythos, and we need a whole new season to be able to properly tell that story.
Remembering also that this will be the final season - as decreed by JRoth, for the sake of the story he wants to tell, not the network - that further reinforces her importance, because if he wants to build to a final message with the show that isn’t the grimdark “no heroes, just survivors” motto the show has otherwise operated on (which is the rumour), there’s no better way to do that than by revealing the truth of Octavia’s Saviour narrative and making it clear to the other characters.
Octavia is special. It has been a long time coming, but it seems that the other characters are finally beginning to realize just how special she is.

The 100 6x06 analysis: A night-without-blood, only tears
Tumblr media
Loved this episode. We got a glimpse of the old Bellamy, albeit small, but he was there. The pacing was better. We finally got to meet Sheidheda. And, I called it in my predictions post last week, Clarke Griffin’s coming back.
Is it weird to watch this show knowing Bob and Eliza are married? Not for me, I separate the characters from the actors easily. Just once again, I’m thrilled they found their happily ever after. Please check out the wedding gift donation.
Madi crossing to the dark side
Tumblr media
Obviously, this is the worse to come out of the whole body-snatching ordeal. Josephine couldn’t care less about her new daughter. Although Gaia is Madi’s teacher, she’s still her subordinate. Without any guidance, sweet little Heda falls straight into the exploiting claws of her evil predecessor.
I didn’t think this would rise so soon, but I fear we might have a new Bloodreina on our hands. The Sanctumites killed Madi’s mother, she will retaliate with full force and who could blame her. If you took mine for self-serving reasons, I’ll want vengeance too.
Somehow, I still think those machines strapped to her head is Josephine’s handiwork, wanting something from the flame. Or maybe it’s a way to pull Madi back from the dark hole she’s fallen into.
Either way, it looks like she’s becoming a villainous character who wants revenge and I hope she succeeds. Russel may have goodness inside, yet he still murdered an innocent person to bring his daughter back. Ryker, on the other hand, is a quizzical one.
The 100 episode 6 - Return of the cockroach
We all knew he would take that deal but, as expected, terms and conditions apply. Clarke’s dead, there’s nothing they can do about it. Teaming up with Josie means they get the Sanctumites’ help with survival and he earns eternal life.
It makes sense for him, Clarke wasn’t his favorite person and what’s done is done. Obviously, he knows convincing Bellamy will be a lot harder.
Tumblr media
That was all of our reactions. And then he goes and spoils it all by saying some stupid like it’s what Monty would have wanted. Oomf the trump card. No violence, no eye-for-an-eye, just look forward and do better. Oh, and it’s what Clarke would have wanted too.
Tumblr media
In some twisted way, he’s right. His way saves everyone else including Bellamy and the planet or moon or whatever. Both Murphy and Josephine’s manipulation this episode is vulgar yet brilliant. Richard and Eliza, you killed it.
Meanwhile, in the woods, the badass trio is being summoned
May I just highlight this line: “Forty vestil virgins and a side dish of none of your damn business.” Man, I love Diyoza too bits. And Xavier. And Octavia. And I hope Marie gets that Emmy nomination because she deserves the hell out of it.
So, Diyoza learns about Gabriel’s rebellion but refuses to join in order to save her daughter’s life. She’s not your conventional mother hen but the way she looks out for Octavia and her child is a clear depiction of her ability to care.
How did Xavier know Diyoza is expecting a girl???
There are tons of rumors that Xavier is Gabriel. I don’t think he is. Or rather, I hope he’s not. I want Gabriel to be an anomaly as much as he “lives” in one. Perhaps he can only exist inside it because of his age? But he’s calling them for a reason and I bet that reason is “death to primes” and Clarke’s resurrection.
Tumblr media
I’m still sticking to my time travel theory of Diyoza meeting Hope and Octavia facing off with Bloodreina. I’d love to see what Xavier’s battles might be. Also, I’m pretty sure these three’s journey is the conclusion to all of their problems and the Blakes’ reconciliation. The villains of earth become the heroes of Sanctum was foreshadowing, I'm certain.
Abby, wtf is wrong with you?
How on earth does she not see through the inconsistencies in her daughter’s behavior? Echo figures it out before she does for heaven's sake. And after everything they’ve done in the past, she decides it’s alright to resurrect the man she loves at the cost of someone else.
Will she resort back to drugs after this too? Clearly, she can’t deal with the thing’s she’s done. Turning Jake in. Becca’s lab. The dark year. And now she’s doing it again. All because her daughter tends to think it’s okay and doesn’t want to lose her. Open your damn eyes, Clarke would never ask you to do something that selfish.
Raven and Ryker
Can someone please shut Raven up. Her self-righteous attitude this season is sickening. She did bad things too. Asking Clarke to kill Lexa. Sacrificing Murphy so Finn could live. Refusing to give Abby medicine for radiation poisoning. Has she forgotten? But worst of all, she left the hard decisions up to Bellamy and Clarke and now she’s mad because they made them.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the piece of her mind she gave Ryker. But the condescending way in which it’s done is annoying. He clearly needs to hear it and she touched where it hurts. Is it wrong to like him and hope he survives? Out of all the primes, it seems like he and Gabriel are the only ones with a conscience. Russel’s is debatable.
They are not gods. What makes them so special? Knowledge? Intellect? Wisdom? And creating a realm of worship so people would sacrifice themselves for you is revolting and everything but divine or remarkable.
Yes, Echo gets a narrative!
The woman is smart, dangerous and loyal. So far, she’s been nothing but Bellamy’s girlfriend and subject, so I’m glad she finally got a storyline of her own. I’m sure the mercy kill of the guard was used purely to show her compassion, which her boyfriend questioned a few episodes ago. Many people still do not like her.
Tumblr media
Being an amazing spy, she extorts Jade for information and figures out that Clarke’s gone. Her natural inclination is to attack which Bellamy, to my surprise, shoots down. That look in her eye suggests she’s not done though. She’ll probably save Jade’s life in exchange for being a double agent. Which could be a great asset to our heroes.
Tasya Teles said that her favorite dynamic of the show is yet to come and that Echo is bisexual. I can see the two of them partnering up and that’s a team I both route for and ship. They’re equals, they have similar backgrounds, they’re caring in a complex way. Why not be those things for each other?
In the end, it all boils down to Bellamy and Clarke
Tumblr media
Bellamy’s tears, tears, and more tears this episode was heartbreaking. Don’t hate me, it wasn’t as convincing as, “We can’t lose Clarke, we can’t lose her!” or “I left her to die and we all die anyway!” though. Why is his mourning stressed this way? Maybe because he lost someone he loves like Russel suggested.
Acting out of anger, he tried to choke Russel for killing her and I imagine the following stopped him: “You have such a big heart Bellamy... but to make sure we survive, you have to use this too.” Especially because he later states that we survive, it’s what Clarke would have wanted.
Tears welled in my eyes when he told Madi. And that hug gave me painful father-daughter feels. At least he’ll try to keep his promise to Clarke and take care of her. Bellamy, you better, that girl is taking a wrong turn. Even if I agree with her cause, following a venomous lead will land her in scorching hot water.
I really would have loved to see Miller, Jackson and Jordan's grief too. And it looked like Spacekru didn't care much after she saved their lives countless times. That scene was underwhelming, truly.
Now, as I predicted, Clarke appears in Josephine’s dreams when she finally sleeps. Which images haunt her? Roan, Abby, Madi, Lexa, Bellamy. I saw tweets of other’s but those were clear to me. Accompanied by Abby, Bellamy and her own words to Lexa. The most important people in her life, right?
Tumblr media
I knew this would happen, something obviously went wrong with the insertion or Clarke is just a fighter. I don’t think it has anything to do with synthetic nightblood. Josephine, honey, you’re in for the wildest and scariest rollercoaster ride of your life. Clarke Griffin is a force to be reckoned with and she won’t stop until her prison break is successful.
I cannot imagine the experience of living in your own mind to be pleasant. Especially not while fighting Josephine Lightbourne for power. Poor, poor, Clarke.
Bellamy was the first to notice Josephine isn’t Clarke and I’m sure he’s gonna realize that she still exists too. The devil will let something slip or act weird and he’ll pick up on it. Either that or Jade informs Echo. Once he solves that puzzle, he will stop at nothing until she returns to him. But Bellamy, please keep your eye on Madi throughout, do not follow in Abby’s footsteps.
Will Clarke’s dreams hold a confession of feelings? Will Bellamy confess to Josephine? Will there be any sort of confession?
Last week someone called my Becho theories typical. Fine, I may be biased but I only write what I see on my screen and if you disagree, I’d love to know why.

From Enemies To Lovers
It was the start of yet another year. Another year full of spells, potion making, transfiguration, runes decryption and everything a six year should know. The last laid-back year, before needing to figure out what to do after school. The year between OWLS and NEWTS, the most feared examination. One would think that during this year everyone would enjoy the peace before the storm and this was true for everyone but two people: Clarke Griffin and Lexa Woods. They were both prefects and Quidditch captains, respectively of Griffindor and Slytherin. And they hated each other.
No one really knew what happened to spark the rivalry between the two. Most assumed it to be the brunette fault, but the truth was that not even their close friends were aware of what occurred.
It was the start of another year and they were already fighting.
“You think you are better than all of us don’t you Woods!? Well guess what!? You aren’t!”
“Are you saying you are better than me Griffin? Cause the OWLS’ results tell the opposite”
Clarke’s face took on a crimson shade after that comment. She was absolutely furious and the smirk on the other’s face wasn’t helping at all. She didn’t really care for those results, she got what she needed to then became a mediwitch and that’s all that mattered to her, but that girl. Oh that brunette girl always had to one up her just to make her feel inferior.
“Not everyone can buy the examiners at the Ministry, Woods. Some of us got their marks studying”
It was Lexa’s turn to be offended. How dare this insignificant girl suggest such a thing!? Her parents may be workers at the Ministry but they would never do anything like that. All that mistrust only because she was a Slytherin. Well the little lion wanted to get the family involved? Than she will get it.
“At least my parents have honorable jobs. What is it that yours do again? Oh right they are just muggles, not doing anything really important now do they? Especially that father of yours”
The blonde’s wand was out and under the brunette’s chin before she could even blink. They were so close that she could see the fresh pain in those blue eyes. She felt a little guilt for the words she used, but they were in front of the Great Hall, with all of Slytherin house listening and those were the first things that came to mind.
“Say anything else about my father, just try to mention him again and they will be your last words”
“20 points from Griffindor Ms Griffin. It’s only the first day and you already start with the threats to my house? Now put away that wand if you don’t want another detention”
Clarke didn’t spare a glance to professor Snape, she glared one last time at the other girl before following the others to the table. She didn’t feel much like eating after that encounter, not after being made aware of what she lost again.
“I know you don’t really feel like it but you have to eat Princess. You can’t starve yourself again”
The girl offered little resistance when Bellamy put a full plate in front of her. He was right, she already made her mother worry all summer with her refuse for food and she didn’t need her or her friends on her case again. But she wasn’t sure if she could stomach anything. She couldn’t eat anything after the incident. The incident that cost her the person she loved the most, her dad. It was the start of summer, he was coming home from work when a car run over him. He remained in a coma for a week before his heart stopped. Just like her world. And hearing that girl, that Slytherin, mention him like that, she just lost it.
As soon as she could, she left the table. She couldn’t remain there and fortunately its the third years that have to take the first year to the common room. She went to the opposite direction, choosing the peace of the lake at the confusion of the tower. It’s always been one of her favorite spots to just let her mind run and to draw when the inspiration hit. Another thing she stopped doing.
She remained there for hours before being joined by a tabby cat.
“I know professor. It’s after curfew, I should at least be in the common room”
“Yes you should Ms Griffin. But I understand why you would prefer staying out here. I won’t give you detention and I won’t take points this time. Next time don’t go out after curfew”
Clarke nodded, standing up to follow the professor back to the castle. Obviously the professor knew about the incident. Great, now she would get looks of pity all day long for who knows how many weeks. Exactly what she wanted and needed.
The walk to the tower was silent and for that she was grateful. She really didn’t want to hear about how sorry the professor was for her. She just couldn’t bare to hear it again. After what seemed like a lifetime, they found themselves in front of the Fat Lady and before letting the blonde inside, the professor reminded her that she knew where her office was. The girl smiled, a tired smile that didn’t reach her eyes, before bidding McGonagall goodnight and entering the common room.
It was the start of yet another year. But this time, it wasn’t filled with laugh and joy. At first it seemed like nothing was out of the norm, but after a couple of weeks, everyone started to see it. The first giveaway was Clarke withdrawal from Quidditch captain and from the team all together. No one realized until the auditions for each role. She was studying under a tree when her friends confronted her about it.
“Are you fucking serious Clarke!? Really!? You left the team!? Without telling us anything!? We had to hear it from McGonagall that you requested to not be captain anymore!”
The blonde looked up from her book to see Bellamy’s outraged face. Behind him were all of their close friends; Raven, Octavia, Monty, Jasper, Wells and Finn. She sighed, knowing she owned them at least an explanation of why.
“Yes I left the team. Yes I didn’t tell you. And yes I asked McGonagall to tell you in my stead. I didn’t ask you what you thought cause half of you would have told me not to, that I’m just too good to not play and I didn’t want any of you to change my mind about this. Yes, I should have told you after I talked with the professor, who agrees with me. I don’t really want to talk about my reasons for quitting, especially not here and not now. And before any of you try, no I’m not coming back on the field”
With that she packed up all of her stuff, not glancing back once before fleeing to the castle. Before dinner time, all of Hogwarts was privy to this strange fact. Especially a brunette Slytherin that just had to poke the little lion.
The Great All went silent when Lexa walked to Griffindor table, stopping in front of a certain blonde.
“Is it true Griffin? You left the team? What, too afraid of losing against us?”
The lion didn’t even look up from her plate, where the food went untouched since she sat down, something that the snake noticed.
“I prefer concentrating on other things this year Woods. Plus I had an incident this summer and I can’t play after that. Now if you will excuse me, I have an essay to finish”
The blonde stood up, nearly running for the exit, leaving everyone confused and shocked. The brunette looked a the other Griffindors to see if they knew anything but they all just shrugged, as if they didn’t know more than her.
Lexa was starting to worry. Yeah they were rivals but she didn’t hate the other girl and she was so out of character this year. The majority of her insults were only answers to the ones the Griffindor princess sent her way. She didn’t even believe in blood prejudice, she used it only to see the enraged face of the blonde. Seeing as Clarke wasn’t even reacting to her insults as usual she decided to cut on them a little and to observe more the other girl, hoping to understand what was wrong with her.
It was another month before the brunette found anything out. It was after curfew and she was doing her rounds when she heard someone trying to cry quietly. She went to investigate, reading herself to listen to some bad break up story, only to find her Griffindor rival with tear stained cheeks. The brunette’s jaw dropped in surprise and just as she was about to talk, the blonde looked up from the ground, locking eyes with Lexa.
“Just my luck. Well what are you waiting for? Go tell your friends that you found me crying so that you can all laugh together about me”
The Slytherin answered with a frown. “I would never do something like that. It’s true that I like arguing with you and that we are rivals but I never laughed at you. Plus if you are here crying it must be something serious and I would never use it against you”
Clarke continued to look at her mistrusting, especially when she sat down near her offering a handkerchief. After a bit of hesitation she took it with a quiet thank you.
“I know that you don’t trust me and I don’t really blame you considering our history, but if you wanna talk I could listen. I noticed that something is wrong this year with you and believe it or not, I’m concerned. Well I’m gonna go back to my common room now. If you ever want to talk, I always pass this spot at the end of my rounds. See you in class Griffin”
The Griffindor watched the other girl walk away, wondering why she was so nice all of a sudden. She looked down at her hands noting how the handkerchief had the other’s initials sew into the corner. Bringing it to her nose she found out that it smelled like pine, the same scent she sometimes got a sniff of when they found themselves face to face during a heated argument.
After that encounter Clarke decided to observe more closely the Slytherin. She started immediately the next day, sure that by breakfast everyone would know of her late night pity party. She was ready to face the Great All, sure of being laughed at as soon as she stepped inside, only to be met with the usual. No one looked at her, no one whispered and giggled at her, no one said anything about her. Her eyes landed immediately on the Slytherin table, locking with a pair of deep green that was watching her with worry. She nodded in thanks and to say that she was okay, seeing the relief swell in the emeralds for a brief second before they went back to their plate. She didn’t get it, not really. They were rivals and here Lexa was offering an ear and a shoulder to cry on.
From that day on she decided to pay more attention to the brunette. During class she noticed how the other girl would sometimes look in her direction, to make sure of what she didn’t know. At first, as she was still a bit hesitant of trusting her, she thought that maybe she wanted to one up her like always, but after a week or so she caught her looking even during meals, always with a veil of worry that she tried to hide.
It was nearly a month before she decided to talk to her. Clarke couldn’t bare another round of worry and pity from her friends. They knew that it wasn’t what she wanted or what she needed, still they never changed. So she waited in the chosen spot. She waited all evening and when she was about to leave, a surprised Lexa appeared.
“You came”
“Yeah… I may need that ear you offered. If it’s still on obviously”
The Slytherin watched the other girl shift from foot to foot in discomfort. She thought that the lion would never accept, still she went there every night hoping to catch a glimpse of blonde, telling herself that she always finished her rounds there and that she wasn’t waiting for the Griffindor.
“Yeah, it’s still on”
They sat next to each other like the first night and then Clarke started talking. She told Lexa of what happened during that summer. How her dad remained in a coma for a week. How her last words to him were an angry shout because of a fight. How she will never know if he heard her telling him how important he was to her, that she loved him, that he was her best friend. How much she regrets not spending more time with him. How she would do anything to see him one last time smiling at her. The snake listened closely, bringing the lion close when she started crying. They remained there for hours, one weeping silently and the other holding her, telling her that it will get better, that it may never be like before but it will be okay. When Clarke had no tears left to cry and the moon was high in the sky, they decided to call it a night.
“Thank you Woods. Really”
“Don’t worry about it. I told you, if you need someone to listen, someone who won’t immediately look at you with pity, I’m here to listen. I may not have the answers to everything, but your secrets are safe with me”
The two girls smiled at each other, debating how to say goodnight. Both of them didn’t want to go, didn’t want to be the first to take the first step. Eventually they decided to back away together.
After that night they started meeting in secret every other evening. During the day they still upheld the facade of rivals, even thought they never got too personal with their come back and lacking their usual bite. They seemed more a couple teasing each other than two rivals insulting each other. They went on like that until Christmas. That year Dumbledore decided to organize a Yule Ball for all the students. Both girls wanted to ask the other to the Ball, but they were afraid of rejection and of being made fun of from their friends.
“So the Yule Ball is in a week. You going with someone Lexa?”
After a couple of weeks of meeting they decided to be on first name basis. The Slytherin looked to her companion, seeing her sprawled looking at the ceiling without a care in the world, or so it seemed.
“No. I wanted to ask someone but I’m not brave enough. Maybe I will ask them to dance with me during the Ball. What about you? Someone special you haven’t been telling me about?”
“Nah. I’m just going with my friends”
Not long after Christmas day came and with it the nerves of getting ready, of being perfect, of being the most beautiful girl in the castle. Everyone wanted to one up the other, putting on make up, jewels and the most expensive clothes just to be noticed from their date and to be sure that all eyes would be on them.
Clarke debated with herself for at least half an hour before deciding to actually go with the others instead of staying in her room sulking. She really didn’t want to go only because she didn’t want to see Lexa dancing with whoever this special someone was. If only she really was as brave as her house.
Her friends went ahead of her, leaving her to walk there alone. When she arrived in the Great Hall a lot of people were already dancing while her friends were in a corner laughing and talking with each other. When they noticed her walk up to them they immediately involved her in the conversation.
“Look who finally decided to come join us mere mortals. I knew you wouldn’t resist coming to dance Princess”
“Well you know me Blake. Without me is it even a party?”
They all laughed together before some of them broke up in couples to go dance. Clarke remained with Murphy, Raven and Octavia, talking about the usual before the only man of the group asked the million dollar question.
“So Princess, you really didn’t ask her to come with you?”
Clarke’s face fell and she sighed before answering. “Yes Murphy. I was to chicken to ask her. Plus she would have said no. She told me there was someone she wanted to ask, but didn’t find the courage to”
The other three looked at her as if she was stupid. Did she really not see the way Lexa looked at her? The three friends looked at each other, communicating without words that they would help her get at least a dance. And maybe knock some sense into that stubborn head of hers.
In that exact moment a group of Slytherins entered and all eyes went to them. They were wearing the best dresses of the evening. Clarke’s eyes found immediately a certain brunette, leaving her breathless from how beautiful she was. She was wearing a long emerald dress with silver lining on the sleeves and silver heels stuck out from under the dress when she walked. She wore a snake pendant and matching hearings, a set she got for her birthday from the blonde.
Lexa’s eyes met blue, widening at the beauty that was the Griffidor. Purple sleeveless dress, blood red heels, killing make up, loose blonde hair and a black choker with a gold lion. They were both stunned into silence and all their friends rolled their eyes at their uselessness. They were so blind about what the other felt and still everyone else could see the love between the two! They were utterly hopeless.
They spent the majority of the night stealing glances at each other, trying to find the courage to ask the other to dance. It was nearing midnight when Raven decided to help them out. She went up to Lexa asking for a dance. Or well more like demanding it. The Slytherin, surprised as she was, could only mutter an half yes before being dragged to the dance floor. The Ravenclaw smirked seeing in the corner of her eye how Clarke was watching them like an hawk.
“So Woods, when do intend to ask Clarke out?”
“I don’t know what you are talking about Reyes”
“Yeah cause no one can see the heart eyes you throw at each other. Look we all know that you have a crush on her and the feelings are mutual so grow a pair and go ask her to dance for fucks sake!”
Lexa looked at her stunned. No one had ever talked to her like that, plus there was no possible way that the Griffindor had feelings for her. She was only Lexa.
“How can she possibly have feelings for me? She is so much more than me and could have everything she wanted”
‘These two’ “Yeah well, she wants you but she doesn’t think the feelings are mutual. Look at how jealous she is right now. She hasn’t stopped glaring at me since we started dancing”
The Slytherin looked above the other girl’s shoulder, seeing what she was talking about. Clarke was seething; she was holding a glass so hard that it could shatter in a moment. Was it possible? Could it really be true? Could she have a chance?
“Are you sure Reyes?”
“I’m her best friend and she won’t shut up about how much she likes you. Honestly I would like to talk about other things than only you Woods. Now go ask her to dance!”
The Ravenclaw pushed her in the blonde’s direction with a smirk and a wink. Lexa started walking towards Clarke, smiling a little when their eyes met. She stopped just in front of her, ready to ask her to dance, when she noticed that the attention of everyone was on them. They were probably expecting one of their usual quarrels.
“Griffin”
“Woods”
“Will you give me the honor of dancing with me?”
“I thought you would never ask Lexa”
Clarke took Lexa’s hand, smiling wide at the other girl. They started dancing ignoring everyone else, looking in each other eyes.
“It was you. The person I wanted to ask to come with me. I thought you would have rejected me if I asked”
“Oh Lexa, how could I ever reject you? My feelings for you are more romantic than platonic. I’ve had a crush on you for some time now Lexa”
“Really? How? You could have anyone, why me?”
Lexa looked at her with lost eyes, not believing her ears. Clarke caressed her cheek with one hand, leaning in to give her a little kiss on the lips. Just a fleeting kiss.
“I want you Lexa. In these last months you opened up to me, you let me see the real you and I fell in love with that girl that offered a shoulder to cry on to her rival, when everyone else would have laughed at her. Yes, I could have anyone but I just want you”
Lexa’s eyes became full of tears, but she refused to let them fall. This girl, this Griffindor was the only one who ever said such things to her. No one had ever chosen her first. No one had ever wanted her like that.
“I’ve fallen in love with you too Clarke. I never thought you would feel the same. I never thought I had a chance with you. I thought you hated me for how I have always treated you”
“You give yourself too little credit Lexa. I never hated you. Not even when you would insult me during one of our fight. I could see it in your eyes that the majority of the things you said, you didn’t really mean. So stop talking and kiss me already. I want our first kiss as girlfriends if you don’t mind”
“As you wish Princess”
Lexa leaned in with a wide smile. Girlfriends. Who would have thought? They couldn’t stop smiling into the kiss, making it more difficult to actually kiss. And still it was perfect, it was totally them. Two lost souls finally together. Two lost souls finally smiling. Two hearts that went from hating to loving. Two hearts finally at peace.
