I haven't been able to stop thinking about that trailer! I'm so unbelievably hyped for this and Kojima's next espionage game (MGS 3 is one of my all time fave games! ahhhh! ❤️)

I miss the old Higgs' design, it was very strong but maybe this clown will grow on me, who knows lol. I can't believe I actually wanted to draw those equations on his forehead (I used to find it tedious. I took them for granted 😭)

something cool I noticed when drawing this: the makeup below his eyes appear to be inspired by the stripes you see on Nemes - the striped headcloths worn by pharaohs. unrelated to DS but about the song I chose: it's one of my fave Arctic Monkeys songs, I heard it live and I haven't been the same since - it gives me Higgs vibes! one of the interpretations on Genius suggested that "crying lightning" refers to the streaks that form on someone's face when their mascara runs.

Things that give me hope for an Asaden & the eventual Chainsaw man identity reveal:

- When she’s stricken with fear and panic, Yoru can’t possess her. The shock and horror upon finding out Denji is Chainsaw Man once she’s attached to him will mean that Yoru won’t be able to immediately come out and attack him where he stands so Asa has a chance to prevent something from happening.

- You don’t necessarily have to kill someone to make them into a weapon. The strength of a weapon mostly resides in the guilt it takes to make them, and we’ve seen Yoru make weapons out of limbs or certain body parts, like Yoru’s severed leg. Asa could try to cut off Denji’s finger to make it a weapon!! Or his blood, that would make for a cool concept! How desperate I have to be to list this as a positive lol but yes this is Chainsaw Man and it is ruthless Alternatively, someone also suggested that being part devil, making Denji a weapon wouldn’t work the same as making a weapon out of a human or animal, which maybe would mean he survives or heals back, who knows!

- Asa has resolved to live more selfishly, and that means seeking her own happiness regardless of circumstances. She’ll find a way to have everything go her way instead of having to choose between Denji and her life out of sheer selfish determination. It’s worked out well so far with Yuko and life-threatening situations tbh.

- Nayuta. Knowing that killing Denji would mean leaving Nayuta alone, I can’t see Asa being able to muster up killing Denji. That would make her no better than the devil who murdered her own family. Plus, knowing that Nayuta is Yoru’s sister, being the control devil and all, that could definitely be a factor for Yoru giving up on killing Chainsaw Man. Nayuta is going to be key

Also I completely agree that’s what makes aftg (tbh The Foxhole Court sounds more well-suited as the series title for me personally!! But anyways)— so compelling to me. A life after trauma, the after. So many stories take us through the grinder and just end and make it look like all is said and done once you’ve experienced the storm, but what about life after the storms that come our way? Dealing with the damage it caused?
