Hello franky san! Hope ur doing okay
Is it possible to ask for comfort hcs of thatch with a s/o who struggles to fall asleep? I’ve been having this problem where my breathing seems to stop when im dozing off, which I then have to get up in my place and gasp for air. It goes on and on like that the rest of the night till I somehow manage to finally sleep. Sometimes I never even go back to sleep coz im just scared it will happen again.
It’s kind of a personal thing and I apologize to you and everyone else if it’s not something that u can relate to.
I hope u having a great day🩷
First of all. I think you MIGHT have sleep apnea [spelling?] and should go to a sleep doctor. That sometimes happens to me and my wife shakes me awake. It's pretty common and I think in severe cases you need a machine to help you at night. I am not a doctor I just know a big bunch of people who have this issue! I would go and check it out ASAP <3

Thatch was the type of person who would be fast asleep the moment his head touched the pillow. He was always out like a light, ready to rise with the sun.
But you were his complete opposite. You struggled to fall asleep and even struggled to stay asleep.
Every day, you wake up groggy and feeling unrested, yet you get ready for your job, doing your duties as a member of the 4th division. Thatch knew you had a hard time resting, so he would try to go easy on you in the kitchen, leaving you to simple chores that didn’t involve anything sharp or hot.
Thatch noticed you tried to avoid going back to sleep sometimes, too shaken up from gasping for air, much like a man who’d been drowning, breaking the surface of the waves to gulp in a breath.
He would comfort you as much as he could, and you’d feel a large, rough hand on your back, rubbing you gently and soothing you as your heart raced. You sighed and closed your eyes, trying to focus on his voice, trying to ground you.
“Shh, shhh, darlin’, it's okay.” he cooed and started to snuggle behind you when he was sure you wouldn’t mind his body against yours when your breathing normalized, and you didn’t seem to be in a state of panic.
“Ugh, I hate it, Thatch. I’m so worried I won’t wake up again,’” you confessed and turned to face him, your tired eyes meeting him as he hummed in thought. We should take you to talk to Birdbrain tomorrow. It’s not right to keep this to yourself. Ya never know. He might have the answers,” he said as he carried on rubbing your back.
You nodded only half here as your eyes grew heavy. You kept trying to wake yourself each time you heard your breath deepening in a light snore.
Thatch sat up, leaning against the headboard, his hand now running through your hair, fingers playing with the strands.
“I’ll stay awake and make sure you're okay. How does that sound?” he offered, and you blinked.
“But won’t you be tired?” he shrugged his shoulders and chuckled. “I’ve already slept a near-full night. Let me stay up these last few hours, and if you stop breathing, I’ll be here to make sure you get up. How's that? My word!”
You felt warmth bloom in your chest. He was such a wonderful man, a perfect partner. “Really?” “Anything for you, darling. You just have to promise me you will see the doctor tomorrow.”
“I promise,” you sleepily mumbled and got comfy.
“Sleep tight,” he said, and you were already snoring softly, feeling safe with him.

hi franky!
Could I make a request with thatch, where the reader likes to wear expensive clothes even for everyday moments, please?
I hope you have a nice day ♡

He knows how much you spend on your clothes, he’s often by your side when you dip into the pricey stores and fancy boutiques on every island the Moby happens to visit.
Thatch has a few nice shirts and pants that he only wears once in a while, on special occasions, or when going on a date with you but he would never wear them around the Moby in general. Not when there was so much mess and dirt and a member of the crew that was likely to combust into flames at a moment's notice.
So as you sit there at dinner, sandwiched between Marco who is only half paying attention to the coffee he was sipping and the book he was reading, and Haruta who was shoveling in food like his life depended on it he was close to having a damn heart attack.
Every fork clanked, and every time Marco set that coffee cup down closer to the edge Thatch was sweating.
You were wearing a very expensive outfit, it was worth more than his entire wardrobe and you were happily eating the pasta, red sauce dripping.
He was biting his thumb as he watched you eat.
“Hey babe, how about this,” He started, getting the other's attention before he grabbed a cloth napkin. “You will kill me otherwise, for my sake?” Thatch grinned at you though his chuckle was strained. He draped the fabric across your lap and tied the ends around your neck gently.
When you both retired to your room that night you slipped off your outfit, making sure to set it in a different hamper from his work clothes. He kicked off his shoes, slipping off the yellow scarf and eyeing you up.
“I didn’t mean to treat you like a child tonight at dinner,” he started and you paused, already slipping into your extravagant PJs, beautiful silk. “And I want you to know I love your clothes and how you look in them I just don’t want you to be upset if they get ruined.”
He explained and you smiled, walking over to him, placing a hand on his chest, tip-toeing, and kissing his cheek as he leaned down for you to do so. “I know, I appreciate it. But don’t worry. I know how to clean them.” You said with a grin and cupped his cheeks with your hands, feeling the rough skin of years of sailing through the salty breeze. “I have equally expensive cleaners that do just the job.” You winked and he laughed.
“Good, because I like seeing you dressed up all nice for me and feeling confident.”

Happy Birthday!
Just a little something for @mamamittens <3 I hope you enjoy! Thank you for being an awesome friend <3
Thatch x GN Reader SFW WC: 700
Tumblr media
Birthdays were a strange thing on the Moby Dick, when you had so many people it was hard to celebrate birthdays one at a time. Everyone would get one massive party at the end of the month. Thatch knew that of course he did, he was the one that had to keep notes on what his crew could and couldn't eat. They were pirates, sure, but not animals.
He knew that rule and yet here he was, making you a small personal cake once the dinner rush was finished and the clean up had been taken care of. Taking his own personal time to make sure you had something to celebrate your birthday.
Thatch knew he wouldn't get into any real trouble, just people teasing him about how he was going to the extra effort to make sure you had something on your day. Because he had the world's biggest crush on you.
Once the cake decorating was finished, he put it in a box and slunk away, dodging anyone who passed him as he walked to your room. Which was a much more difficult undertaking than he had anticipated, he was hoping anyone that was around had already had their senses washed away by booze or people had simply passed out around the deck.
He ducked behind crates and barrels, evading the tricky small talk from those who had managed to see his hair poking out from behind a hiding spot. Despite all the obstacles he was outside your door, cake safe in the box wrapped with a bow as his heart raced.
Thatch knocked on the door and waited, hearing footsteps on the other side before the door opened a slither, you peered out with a quizzical look when you saw Thatch standing there, a big grin on his handsome face.
“Hey, I got you something!” He proclaimed and held the box up, puffing out his chest in pride, trying to hide his nerves behind a wall of confidence as you eyed him up, gaze drifting to the box in his hands.
“What’s this for?” You asked as you stepped back, gesturing for him to enter the room. He set the box down on your desk and told you not to look yet. That had elevated your curiosity a few notches as you did as he’d asked, turning your back to him,
Thatch looked over his shoulder, making sure you weren’t sneaking a look. He took the cake out of the box and stuck the candles into the cake, patting himself down to locate his lighter. You folded your arms over your chest, hearing his movements, your ears pricked trying to piece the sounds together to make a picture, impatient already.
“Okay, you can turn around now.”
When you turned you saw the cake on your desk, the candles lighting up the dim room and you blinked. “Happy birthday!” He cheered as you walked closer to the cake.
“But the rules?” You asked and he shrugged his shoulders. “I know, I know, I just… I wanted you to have something on your day instead of waiting for the end of the month,” Thatch admitted, he was glad you couldn’t see the tinge of pink on his cheeks.
“Anyway, blow the candles out and make a wish.”
You smiled, feeling the warmth in your heart. He was so kind and caring, no wonder you had fallen for him. You nodded and leaned down, blowing out the candles and making your wish. You wished and wished you'd have the courage to confess to him.
“What did you wish for? He asked, clapping when you’d extinguished the flames in one attempt. “I can’t tell you or it won’t come true,” You smirked, seeing him roll his eyes, chuckling.
“Well, I hope it comes true.”
You felt his arms around you and you melted against him. “Happy birthday,” he said once more, still holding you close. You closed your eyes and enjoyed the moment. “Thank you, Thatch.”
As you pulled away, your eyes met and you decided, maybe tonight was the night you made a wish come true…

Summer is coming... So what are they planning for you?
Tumblr media
Citybreak They are planning a long weekend in a city you have always wanted to visit. Nice dinners, taking in the local vibe. Nightlife? Shopping? Museums? Whatever your preference is, they have you covered. Maybe you just want somewhere different to explore and venture around. Looking out your hotel room at night with the skyline of glittering lights! Sanji - Marco - Corazon - Law - Killer - Mihawk - Perona - Boa - Nami - Brook - Robin - Uta
--
Camping The moment summer is around the corner, they get the tent out and make sure it’s ready to go. They are getting into hardcore camping mode. Everything you’d need is all packed and ready. It’s time to have nights out by a lake, maybe fishing or swimming. Campfires and nature are all around you. Thatch - Ace - Sabo - Usopp - Jinbei - Zoro - Luffy --
Beach holiday Sunsets and cocktails, swimming all day, tanning under the sun, building sandcastles together. They can’t wait to feel the sand between their toes and splash you in the water or ensure you have enough sun lotion. Then there is the pier, the view, and the silly games and amusements that line it. Sanji - Marco - Ace - Nami - Jinbei - Franky - Luffy - Robin - Shanks - Crocodile --
Staying at home Both of you are exhausted and just need a rest. You don’t leave your house, and you also don’t lift a finger to work. You both have time to be together, have some movie marathons, catch up on your hobbies, and create creative joint space with one another. You are just decompressing after stress at work. Both of you are ignoring the outside world. Thatch - Deuce - Law - Mihawk - Usopp - Zoro - Robin --
Amusement park holiday They want nothing more than to book a stay at a water park or amusement park. After a long weekend of screaming on the rides, eating junk food, and being scammed at the amusements, they insist on winning you a plush, and in the end, they manage! Walking around the parks until you think your legs might fall off. Taking in the shows and all the entertainment together. Ace - Corazon - Killer - Barto - Sabo - Brook - Franky -Luffy - Buggy - Uta
--
Glamping Wanting to be outside but with class. No sleeping on the ground. They’ve planned a week-long stay at a cabin or a treehouse, maybe a strange-shaped place like a UFO you can sleep in? The calm nights in nature but with a good night's sleep. Also, the hot tub while you listen to the world around you. Thatch - Corazon - Mihawk - Nami - Benn --
Travel to another country It's time to explore another place entirely. They’ve planned this for months, and now it’s time. You both can’t wait to see the sights: the food, the art, the everything. You are immersing yourself in adventures together.  Sanji - Thatch - Deuce - Izou - Law - Doffy - Perona - Sabo - Usopp - Brook - Robin - Shanks - Benn - Crocodile --
Roadtrip Just you and them. The car is packed, the snacks and drinks are loaded in the cooler, and you have a list of things you want to hit on your summer trip. Music, the open road, singing along with one another. Maybe you don’t even have a plan; perhaps you just wing it. Windows down, wind in your hair and being in one another's company. Marco - Ace - Deuce - Kidd - Killer - Sabo - Franky - Zoro - Luffy --
Snowy getaway. Maybe it’s snowboarding and skiing in the cold? Lovely wooden lodges, hot cocoa, and their competitive streak. White snowy scenery and comfy warm sweaters. Log fires and exhausted limbs. Law - Kidd - Ace - Zoro - Robin - Benn --
Resort The best money can buy. Three meals a day, all top-tier with wine, cocktails, and anything you could ask for, brought to your room with the best view in town. A private pool, a private beach area just for you. They have it all planned and want to live in the lap of luxury with you: couples spa day, the works. Sanji - Izou - Doffy - Boa - Nami - Crocodile --
Hotsprings Traditional, calm, relaxing, and good for your soul, it involves just you and your partner chilling out in a beautiful inn with delicious food and birdsong from the garden. This is perfect for you both: taking everything easy at your own pace. Maybe you sit with sake and watch the little animals in the garden. You could cuddle up in the hot spring and feel the world just fade away as you enjoy one another's company in a comfortable silence. Marco - Izou - Law - Killer - Mihawk - Boa - Nami -Jinbei - Zoro - Robin --
Festival Depending on the vibe, you either go camping to a festival with chill vibes or going to fucking party. You guys enjoy the music, so many bands you love. Getting to dance, mosh, sway, whatever to the music together. Getting to camp together as you also meet new people. BBQs, booze, summer vibes for days.

Ace x F!Reader SFW Ace Lives AU 5 + 1 trope WC: 4,400
Tumblr media
He was a highly ranked commander on one of the strongest crews in the world but that didn’t stop Ace from being unable to handle his feelings. He was never one to express how he felt, other than anger and annoyance. Pushing everything else down deep to be ignored and to deny to himself and everyone else.
Despite being in such a position of power he still hid from her in Marco’s office when he knew she was on lunch break. Sitting across from the phoenix as he worked, watching as Marco’s quill danced across the paper the sound of the tip dragging along the parchment paper.
“Marco, your handwriting is terrible, how do you even read it?” Ace mumbled, staring over at the notes the other commander had been working on. Marco paused, sighed, and looked over his red frames at Ace.
“Shouldn’t you be doing something else? Like anything else?” Marco sat back in his seat and watched how Ace fidgeted in his seat, reaching over for a piece of paper to pull at, to fiddle with the edge before Marco shot him a look, Ace chuckled and dropped the paper.
“Yeah, I guess. I’m on break and I thought I’d keep my bestie company.” Ace batted his eyelashes which earned him a scrutinising gaze from Marco. “You mean your avoiding her because you have feelings and haven’t worked out how to cope with those yet yoi.” Marco watched Ace straighten up, how tense his shoulder became as he stumbled over his words.
Gotcha
“Listen,” “I’m listening.” Ace folded his arms over his chest, Marco mimicking him with a growing smirk on his lips as Ace wrinkled his nose.
“I’m working on it.”
Marco rolled his eyes, a chuckle as he shook his head, standing up from his desk and walking over to his filing cabinet as Ace sulked over his situation. “If you don’t find somewhere else to mope around I’ll tell her for you yoi.” Marco hummed, acting nonchalant as he glanced over his shoulder, seeing the color drain from Ace’s freckled face.
“Don’t fuckin’ do that birdbrain!” He flapped his arms, waving them in a no fashion as Marco watched him. “Fine, I’ll work on it… I’ll confess to her!”
Famous last words Ace thought as he ran a hand through his hair with a deep sigh.
The first time he almost confessed to her was on a summer island, the pair walking through town. She brushed her hair back as she talked with one of the traders in the marketplace. Ace watched her with a dumb look on his face, the fondness clear as day on his face. He watched as she laughed, joking with the man selling her supplies.
He felt a little tinge of jealousy when the trader seemed to take the banter as an invite, offering her a deal because she was so pretty. His eyebrow twitched in annoyance as his jaw was set in a firm line, not impressed with the man trying to flirt with her.
Ace tried to convince himself that he was just looking out for his best friend, and that he was making sure no one hassled her. He told himself desperately it wasn’t anything to do with the growing feelings that bloomed in his chest, wrapping around his heart like ivy. Flowers of affection alive and well.
“Hey buddy, come on, don’t hassle her.” Ace stepped forward, he placed his hand on her lower back in a reassuring manner. The trader blinked and laughed at Ace’s bravado.
“Her boyfriend or something pal?” He laughed at Ace and that was one thing he wouldn’t tolerate, he hated to be mocked, to be laughed at, he grit his teeth as the hand not on her back balled into a fist.
Flames licked across his bare shoulders, and she couldn’t miss those sparks, knowing his temper was about to flare and there would be a bigger problem. “No, he’s not. Come on Ace, he’s just being friendly.” She replied and turned to look at him, he tried not to feel the stab in his heart at her words, the dismissive nature of her reply.
He needed to calm down before he set this asshole's cart on fire. He bit the inside of his cheek as the trader carried on flirting with her, his hand on her shoulder, suggesting she come inside his shop to have an adult conversation.
“Come on, this guy's shit isn’t worth it anyway, we got given a list we should stick to it.” He grunted and wrapped his hand around her wrist, gently pulling her from the trader's grasp. She had no idea what had come over Ace, he was normally so chill and full of laughs and smiles when they went shopping together.
She excused them both, saying sorry to the trader as Ace tugged her away by her wrist. Once out of earshot, she yanked her arm away from him, glaring, hands on her hips as she waited for an explanation.
“Why were you jealous Ace? We aren't together.” She started as she tapped her foot on the floor, trying not to let her temper get the best of her, not wanting to start a shouting match in the middle of town with him.
“He was being a sleaze! I know we aren’t together but come on, he was all over you!” Ace huffed, puffing his chest out, thinking he had the high ground here until he felt her poke his chest, instantly letting the air out of him. He saw the anger in her eyes as she opened her mouth. “No Ace, I was in no danger whatsoever and maybe I enjoyed the flirting? I’m single after all and again why are you jealous?” She demanded to know, voice raising as Ace stood there, shoulders sagging. Not enjoying the feeling of being scolded by the woman he was in love with.
“Maybe I want-” He cut himself off, he couldn’t confess, not here, not like this. He would never forgive himself. And she was pissed off with his antics, it would only cloud her judgment and spur on the rejection.
He sighed, shaking his head and picking up his bag, starting to walk. “It’s nothing, I’m sorry,”
—-
The second time he tried to confess, he actually did she just didn’t believe him.
She was sitting in Marco’s office, looking at the door to the operating room, she couldn’t stop worrying about Ace. Her foot bounced and he knee jiggled as she played with the hem of her shirt, her cheeks hurt from anxiously chewing the insides.
Ace had been hit pretty bad, he’d been cocky and showing off and ended up with seastone bullets lodged into his chest, arm, and thigh. Marco had managed to heal him enough using the phoenix ability but he still needed the bullets out.
The door opened and she looked up, a worried expression painted across her face, tear-stained cheeks as she waited for Marco to appear. “He’s fine, you can come see him, he’s coming around from being under so he’ll be a bit goofy yoi.” Marco explained and she nodded, rushing to the door, pausing and staring at Ace laying there, mumbling to himself.
She wanted to blame herself for Ace getting hurt, she felt that somehow, some part of this was her fault, like Ace was showing off just for her benefit. They’d both been lax, both too comfortable in how strong Ace’s power was to think he could be hurt.
But the sneak attack from behind had been enough to level the commander. She bit her lip, not sure if she should allow herself to see him, blame dragging her under until she felt Marco’s hand on her lower back, ushering her into the room, pulling out a chair for her to sit by Ace.
“Ace,” She said and reached over, taking his hand as Ace with his lop-sided grin faced her, he slurred, sounding drunk as he was slowly coming too. Marco sat on the other side, a chart in his hands and only half paying attention to her and Ace as he scribbled more notes.
“How are you feeling?” She asked, rubbing his knuckles gently he laughed loudly, grabbing her hand, bringing it to his face, and kissing the back, she blushed and stared at him before groaning when he started to kiss her skin, this time sloppy and leaving drool.
“Much better now your here, your like an angel.” He gushed and smiled at her, trying to grab at the hand she’d pulled away.
“You know, I really love you.” He mumbled, looking a little forlorn at his admission. She blinked at him and noticed Marco was no longer writing, her eyes met with Marco’s over his clipboard. “Do you think he means it?” She asked and Marco blinked slowly, “Who knows..” He said with an awkward chuckle, quickly going back to his notes, knowing this wasn’t his call to make.
She sighed and looked from Marco back to Ace who seemed to have fallen asleep, trying to nap off the remaining effects of being under… At least he was okay..,
The third time Ace almost confessed she thought she was going to die.
Ace’s beloved striker, how fast he could move that thing, How it blasted through the waves without a care in the world, cutting through the water like a hot knife through butter. Nothing could stop it nor Ace.
Fire flared around him as he held on to his hat with one hand, letting out a laugh as he felt freedom and the sea breeze fill his chest. The way the striker skipped across the water’s surface like a pebble skimmed across a lake.
The sun was blazing above them, watching as the fire-fueled vessel burst through another wave, seaspray spittled across Ace but not enough to slow him down or to hinder his powers. She was clinging on for dear life, the wind in her hair as she shrieked and held the mast as tight as she could.
Ace looked back seeing her clinging onto the pole, the smirk spread across his face as slowed down, just a little before coming to a stop. She could breathe finally, she could feel her heart beating against her chest, and her mouth felt dry from her open-mouthed gawking and shouting.
“Wasn’t that fun?” He asked, stepping over to her, and placing his hand on hers. peeling her fingers from grasping so hard at the mast, seeing her knuckles white as she took a breath to calm herself.
“I can’t believe you and Deuce made this thing, it’s crazy,” She said letting her legs wobble, she almost fell back into the seat until Ace set his hands on her hips, keeping her in place, his smirk softened to a smile, enjoying how this felt. As he met her gaze, she was stunning.
“Yeah, it’s pretty neat right?” He said with pride, remembering the day the striker was born. “Deuce screamed even more than you did,” he teased gently nudging her before draping an arm across her shoulder, letting her lean on him for stability as she carried on trying to regulate her breathing.
“I don’t doubt that for a second.” She said, brushing messy hair from her face. “I’m really good at making people scream ya know…” He saw her furrowed brows as she elbowed him in jest, cheeks pink as she rolled her eyes. “Oh yeah? Maybe you should show me how else you could make me scream for you Portgas,” She fluttered her eyelashes and saw the blush that spread across his freckled cheeks, laughing when he dipped his hat to cover his face.
“Whatever,” he said and nudged her back, to and fro this went until they both sat down next to one another, a tight squeeze but neither seemed to mind. The striker was gently lulled by waves, birds overheard letting out excited cries.
“So, wasn’t it fun?” He asked again, playing with a loose thread on his shorts, staring ahead at the shimmering blue waves, feeling her shrug a little. “Scary and fun, like dating for the first time.” She said, looking across the same waves as him, feeling the sun on her skin as the boat just bobbed in place.
“Dating huh?” Ace turned to look at her now, examining her face as she met his eye once more, a small smile on her lips as she nodded. “Yeah, you know when your feelings are rushing to your heart and you feel it beating harder and harder when you spend time with the person you love, how fast the first few days and weeks feel. How alive it makes you feel but just how deep your feelings go keeping your feet rooted in place,”
He listened to her and mused it over, it was true, that summed up how he felt about her, but he wasn’t scared of being with her, he was terrified she would reject him, that he’d ruin a friendship along with the hopes and dreams of getting to hold her hand, kiss her, smell her hair first thing in the morning.
To hold her against his chest and listen to gentle breathing as she fell asleep by his side. He knew he was in deep, he knew his feelings were scarier than any storm on the sea, and joy ride on the striker.
He could cope with the fear of falling into the sea by now but he couldn't take just how his heart ached at the thought of losing her. But the bottled-up feelings carried on being shaken up inside, fit to burst and overflow any second.
Ace wanted to explode. “Would you ever… date someone?” he asked, hearing his heartbeat loud in his ears. She tilted her head to one side, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she thought about it, really thought about it. “I don’t know, I don’t think romance is on the cards for me,” she hummed and shrugged.
“Maybe I just need the right person…”
“What about if it was m-” he was cut off by a large wave rocking the striker, making them both yell in surprise.
Ace looked up into the sky, one of the fabled out-of-nowhere storms that rolled across the world, typical of the grandline. The storm clouds above rumbled, they felt the sound of thunder rattle their chests as the waves picked up again.
“I guess we should go.” She sighed in annoyance at the same time he let out a defeated one. Both standing and Ace made sure she was holding on tight as he fired himself up once more, sending the boat rocketing over the waves, being chased by the storm.
All the way safely to The Moby Dick.
Had it been his imagination or had there been something in that conversation?
—--
The fourth time he tried to confess he was drinking one night, everyone sat around the tables, enjoying the end of another hard day. Bellies full of food, tankards full of beer as everyone laughed and cheered, singing and dancing.
And there she was, coming over to Ace’s table, he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her as she sat down, sitting across from him. He grabbed his mug, bringing it to his lips as he downed the biggest gulp.
“Hey,” He said, hoping he sounded as casual as he’d intended though he’d straightened up and put a smile on his face.
“Can I join you?” she asked and he nodded, she sat across from him with her own drink, he admired how she looked, the backdrop of the sunset giving her a halo of orange light, like she also had his devil fruit and was on fire. He tried not to take too sharp of a breath as he admired her.
“Today was rough, I can’t believe so much went wrong.” She sighed and brought the tankard to her lips, taking a drink and all Ace could do was think lucky mug. He let out a chuckle and shrugged his shoulders. “That’s the way it goes sometimes on a ship, everything can go right one minute then you'rer in the ship's guts knee-deep in salt water.”
“Has that ever happened to the moby?” “Nah, back on my old ship.” He explained and she mused over his comment, remembering just how Ace came to be on this ship. His journey to the man he was today. “I bet that was a pain in the ass.”
“Deuce still brings it up.” Ace snickered and she giggled thinking of the doctor and how he didn’t seem to let anything go. “That checks, I bet it was your fault… right?” She raised an eyebrow, a smirk growing when Ace mock gasped and pointed to himself.
“Me? How could you imply such a thing!” he tutted, seeing how she stared at him, not believing his reply in the slightest. “Alright, alright, it was me.”
-
Drinks flowed as did the conversation, both taking turns to go and grab two more drinks. Ace’s freckled cheeks were tinged pink, as was hers. They’d moved their little party to somewhere more private. Bottles of beer stolen from the kitchen, some laying empty around them.
“Sometimes I think you and Marco would make a cute couple.” She teased and nudged him, Ace snorted and spat out his drink, coughing as some dribbled from his nose. She laughed loudly, holding her stomach as he gave her a confused look, he grabbed the hem of her shirt and wiped his face off on the fabric as payback which caused her to squeal in amusement.
“Really?” He said, voice croaky, another cough as he watched her face, seeing the smirk. “Maybe so,”
“Come on, don’t say that! I might be trying to woo someone else and wouldn’t want them to think I like birdbrain!” He huffed and stretched his legs out, grabbing another beer and leaning back against the crate they’d set up camp in front of.
“And who would that be?” She asked, leaning closer to him, half-lidded eyes, and long lashes fluttering as she waited for a reply. Ace gripped the bottle in his hand before he chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. “Why do you wanna know? Would you be jealous?”
She was a little taken aback by his flirty comment, she was glad for the dim light provided by the strings lights above. She could feel her face getting hotter at his reply, her palms sweating. She would be jealous, wouldn’t she? She sat back leaning on the crate and picking up her beer, staring at the stars.
“And what if I was? What would you do about it?” She said, turning to face him, watching him shift and lean forward. Eyes meeting hers. “Well, the last thing I’d wanna do is make you jealous..” He said, not a lie.
His eyes dropped to her lips where she was smiling at him, he wanted to kiss her so badly, the booze making him fearless, the back-and-forth flirting between two friends sending a buzz, an electric charge in the air as their bare arms touched.
“Oh? Why?”
His heart was racing, he licked his lips as he found he couldn't look away from her mouth, couldn’t think of anything but his desire to kiss her. She cleared her throat and he forced himself to make eye contact.
“Well, what if yo-” “There you two are!”
Ace groaned when Thatch turned the corner, standing in front of them. “We are about to start a big game of poker! Come on you two, quit making out and join us!” Thatch reached down and ruffled their hair. Ace huffed and slapped his hand away.
“Alright, alright!”
—-
The fifth time he tried to confess was just a simple evening.
Ace hunched over a table in the dining room late in the afternoon, brows furrowed in concentration as he scribbled notes on the paper, He chewed on the end of the pen as he glared at the paper in front of him. Something all commanders had to do but he still hated this part of the job.
Paperwork.
She’d been looking for him, missing his company, his banter, and jokes, the warmth he would radiate with his smile and his body. She pushed open the door and saw him working hard, she felt herself smiling, gazing at him, fond of the commander that she was increasingly getting closer to, knowing him inside and out.
Seeing more sides of him than he ever let others witness. She walked over and gently placed a hand on his shoulder, he glanced up, and the irritated look vanished the moment he realized who it was. He placed his hand on hers and smiled.
“Hey,” “Hey, was wondering where you were.”
“Yeah?” He asked as she sat down on the other side, looking at the paper he was toiling over. “You have beautiful handwriting Ace..” she said with awe in her voice, pulling the sheet closer to her, and reading over his notes.
“Something I picked up from my childhood, from one of the good people I met.” He shrugged, even with her he was cagey about the past. She never pushed or pried though, never.
“Your writing is better than anyone else in fact.. Marco’s looks like chicken scratch, Thatch has more food stains the ink on his paperwork, and I don’t even want to mention the mess that Jozu makes and Vista.. His is far too fancy to understand.” She said as she looked over the page, Ace leaned on the table, cheek cradled in the palm of his hand as he admired her.
He wasn’t really listening, too focused on watching her lips move, watching the way she brushed hair behind her ear. He snapped out of it when she handed him back the paper. “Oh, thanks, yeah.” He mumbled in reply and tapped the nib of his pen on the paper.
“But yeah, beautiful Ace,”
“I can think of something more beautful,” He started, watching her stare at him like she was expecting something. He managed to catch himself, realizing in his daze he’d almost let everything slip again. He sat up and nodded. “Yeah, the stars tonight! Pop’s said we should have a harvest moon! Those things are huge!”
She sighed inwardly, she felt he’d been so close to something…
“Wanna go see it together after I finish this up?” He offered, taking the paper and quickly returning his attention to his work, tipping his hat down to hide his face.
“I’d like that.”

She felt tears running down her face, and snot from her nose as she rushed after the others, Ace in Jozu’s arms as Marco became a beacon of blue fire, hands on Ace’s chest as everyone rushed aboard the ship.
Ace had been hit pretty bad, he’d have been dead if Marco hadn’t been there at that second. She couldn’t swallow the lump in her throat as she followed them to the infirmary, Marco only allowing her access because her name was all that Ace could manage to say as he came in and out of consciousness.
He looked so pitiful, a dimming flame that flickered in the wind as he was laid out on the bed, Marco never moving from Ace’s side, hands splayed out on his chest, keeping the wound from getting worse, from killing him.
She’d never seen Marco so frazzled, the normally laid-back man was shouting, a frown on his face as he carried on barking orders. Deuce and Tate rushed around the office, grabbing the things he asked for as you sat by Ace’s bedside.
His eyes opened, he didn’t seem all there as he reached a bloody hand out, grasping for hers. She held his hand tight as Marco’s flames got brighter, swallowing the room, and chasing away the shadows as the phoenix worked its magic.
Deuce hooking Ace up to a drip, Tate grabbing all manner of things. She had no idea what was going on, she didn’t dare ask Marco as he growled out “Come on Ace!”
Everything was a blur, the shouting, yelling, clatter of things, and frustrated mumbles soon died down as Marco’s healing flames dissipated. Marco had never looked so ragged or old, she bit her lip when she saw his knees wobble and he sank to the floor, heavy breathing.
“Is Ac- is Ace okay?” she asked and saw Marco nod. “I have him stable, we have him stable.” He added seeing Deuce and Tate at Ace’s bedside, checking on things.
-
She didn’t leave his side, she hadn’t let go of his hand. Deuce opened the door and peered in, seeing her half slumped on Ace’s bed. “Want something to drink?” he asked, stepping in and checking a few things with Ace. She shook her head and politely declined.
Exhausted and too drained to think of anything.
Deuce sighed and nodded, hanging up the clipboard before he left, to report to Marco no doubt. She felt Ace’s hand twitch and glanced up. He was staring right back at her, he looked rough but alive. He was going to be fine, thank the gods.
“Hey,” he clutched her hand, doing his best to smile at her. “Hey,” she sat up and offered him a weak smile.
“We almost lost you there Portgas.” She sighed and watched him struggle to sit, she reached over, helping him sit, adjusting his pillows. “I know… but almost doesn’t count right?” he chuckled and winced, hand going to his bandaged chest.
“Your so cocky,” she sighed but the smile never left.
“I’m glad I’m alive, I would have hated myself if I never got to tell you how much I love you.” Ace didn’t look away this time, it was out there, it was wild and free, the confession he’d been sitting on for as long as he could remember.
Her eyes opened wide and she bit back a sob, hearing those words… “I love you too Ace, you idiot,” She sat on the edge of the bed, leaning her forehead against his, sobbing softly as Ace closed his eyes, feeling complete at last.
Marco leaned on the door frame, hearing the tearful confession from the pair. He smiled, glad two soulmates weren’t taken from one another before they had a chance to flourish together.

Marco, Ace, Thatch, Izou x GN Reader SFW Modern AU
Tumblr media
Marco
Be prepared for Marco to spend most of his time sunbathing, he likes to lay around on the beach and get a tan.
That doesn’t mean he can’t be talked into going into the sea with you or playing some beach games.
But he is a massive fan of being laid on a blanket in the warm sun or pleasant shade while eating and drinking pineapple-related drinks and snacks.
He’ll make sure you have suncream all over you, he’s laid back but he still looks after you.
Always has a watchful eye on you no matter what, even when he’s reading a book or looking at his phone he knows where you are.
When the sunsets is when Marco comes alive, happy to walk with you hand in hand along the beach when the sun is setting.
Walking along the shore, feet being tickled by cooling early evening waves.
Maybe he even helps you look for nice shells in the dying light of day.
Oh, and drinks at a beachside bar are a must.
Tumblr media
Ace
Ace is a whirlwind, he wants to do everything.
He wants to surf, either with you or alone.
If you don’t know how to surf he’s pretty good at teaching you, he’s patient and gentle.
He might topple you off once for a silly prank.
He’ll swim with you in the sea, he’ll build sandcastles, and play beach games.
Gets a little competitive at volleyball.
He enjoys seeing you with your legs out in shorts and you see him stare at you, nodding to himself approvingly.
Will always go grab ice cream and snacks even if you packed some.
When the sun starts to set and it’s a little too dark to carry on doing the really fun things at the beach he’ll walk you along the pier, you guys will hit the arcade and spend hours on the games.
He might even let you win a few.
Oh, and he’ll 100% spend too much money trying to win you a plushie on one of those claw crane machines.
Tumblr media
Thatch
Thatch is happy to do what you want to do if you wanna lay on the beach and tan, so will he, want to go swim? Yeah, he’ll come along.
Though he does love to do a seaside BBQ so expect that. It might just be you and him or a group of you. He’ll show off and make sure you are well-fed.
He loves to look at all the rockpools with you, holding your hand so you don’t slip and fall while walking along the rocks and jumping from edge to edge.
He knows a fair bit about sea life and he’ll point things out, you will be amazed at his knowledge as he dips in a net and pulls out a crab to show you before putting it back.
He’s soft and gentle with all the creatures.
When nighttime rolls around he’ll take you to a nice restaurant along the beach where you can enjoy the sunset together and the stars above.
Tumblr media
Izou
Izou is more of a poolside person but if you nag him enough he’ll come to the beach.
He comes with so many comforts, a big parasol, a floppy hat, pillows, and cushions so he can make himself a nice comfy fort against a tree as he watches you do all the things you want.
Don’t splash him, even a little or he will bury you in and and leave you there while he goes for happy hour at a bar somewhere.
He does however like sitting in the shade, a little music gently playing and you are both sat there reading a book together.
He might be persuaded to play volleyball if you came as a group but it has to be a team effort to get Izou to agree.
He is fiercely competitive and he lowkey scares you all.
At night he likes to have a fancy dinner by the sea, maybe you guys can go for a walk after.

Thatch x M Reader [reader is called 'handsome'] SFW Modern AU WC: 1.500
Tumblr media
Thatch nodded to the barmaid as she poured him another drink, sliding it across the bar to him. He gave his thanks along with a bright smile and a wink and the woman rolled her eyes but the smile didn’t leave her face. Thatch was a regular here and they were all used to his charm and flirty ways.
Leaning against the bar, he glanced around the crowd, the darkness of the dance floor, neon lights decorating the walls. Every table was cast into bright colors as the lights chased each other across the floor, towards the stage, and back again. He always came here Friday night, and he loved watching the live band performances, regardless of if the music was to his personal taste or not.
He just loved the vibrancy of this bar, people having a good time, and letting go after a hard day. Thatch adjusted, taking a swig of his drink, seeing the door open and only just seeing it in the corner of his eye. He didn’t normally pay any mind to new people who swung open the doors but tonight was different.
Tonight Thatch saw him.
Love at first sight seemed like a stupid concept for someone his age but there was definitely interest at first sight. Thatch watched the stranger walk to the bar, leaning on the bright white glowing surface as he waited for the barmaid.
His eyes trailed over the man in front of him, taking in every feature and how he was dressed. Thatch brushed back a loose strand of hair, adjusted the leather jacket on his shoulders, and sauntered over to him.
“Here for the band?” Thatch asked, striking up a conversation, wearing his award-winning smile, and putting on the charm.
“Yeah, I’ve been a fan for a while,” you said with a nod, watching Thatch’s expression and admiring the man's face: the crow's feet and laugh lines, the large pompadour, and his nicely put-together outfit.
“Good choice, I like a man with taste!” Thatch beamed and waved over the barmaid. “What are you havin’?”
You didn’t normally let people try and pick you up in a bar, but he seemed different. The warm bubbly energy exuding from him, the smile on his face, he had a nice vibe about him. And well, he was pretty handsome.
“Surprise me,” you said, smiling, watching as he quirked an eyebrow, his smile just growing before the barmaid headed towards them.
“I like someone who's up for trying new things!” Thatch chuckled and grabbed the cocktail menu that was on the bar, setting it down flat and glancing over the assortment of bright and wild concoctions, seeing if he could read the sort of person you were. You watched with interest as he paused at a few, seeing his finger dance over the options on the laminated menu.
“Can I get two of this one please?” The handsome man ordered two of the bright red cocktails. The barmaid nodded and went to work creating the drinks.
“I’m Thatch by the way, nice to meet you.” You glanced down at the hand offered to you, grinning as you shook it. His hand was bigger than yours, the handshake firm, like the feel of a good friend you haven't seen in ages.
You gave your name and couldn’t help the pang of disappointment when he pulled his hand back just in time for the barmaid to set down the drinks. “Well then, cheers to a great night of good music and new friends?” He quirked a brow as he held his drink up.
“Cheers!” You clinked your glass against his before bringing it to your lips, sipping the drink and then nodding, making a happy noise. “This is good, it’s like you know me already,” you said and plucked out the cherry that was bobbing on the surface, munching it with another pleased nod, enjoying the sweetness it brought.
“Well, I still plan on getting to know you even more throughout the night, that is, if you want to?” Thatch was trying to act nonchalant but you could tell he was hoping for some company tonight, and honestly? He was nice, handsome, and your type.
“Sounds good!”
The night was going great. Before the band started up you and Thatch enjoyed a few drinks, talking about your lives. You found out he shared an apartment with a friend, that he owned his own restaurant, what he was into and you shared your life with him. He was hanging on to your every word, asking plenty of questions.
It had been too long since you had this sort of banter with someone and you were enjoying your time with Thatch immensely. You bought this round, rum and cokes, as you heard the singer of the band announce they were about to start.
“Let's go then handsome.” Thatch smiled and offered you his arm, which happily you took. Both of you headed to the stage. He was so tall and stocky he didn’t have to try very hard to get near the front.
The performance was amazing. You felt the loud music rumble in your body, the vibrations running along the floor and up your legs. You sang along with every song and even though Thach didn’t know the words he would still smile at you, seeing how into the show you were. He’d sway with you when the softer songs played and made sure no one bumped into you.
It was nice—more than nice, it was amazing. The band soon finished up their set and you both sat down at a table, another drink in your hands; this time it was a green cocktail with a slice of lime bobbing in it.
“What did you think of the band?” you asked, wanting to know what he thought, interested in his opinion, interested in him.
“Not my normal kind of music but I could see myself listening to them once in a while, yeah. What about you? Didn’t disappoint I hope?” Thatch asked as he leaned forward on folded arms.
“Nothing about tonight has been a disappointment.” You smiled at him, sipping your drink.
You spent ages with him, chatting, joking and just basking in one another's company. You liked Thatch, liked him a lot actually. And as much as you didn’t want the night to end, the bell ringing to signal closing time would have to be when you parted ways.
“Oh shit, the last bus was hours ago,” you groaned as you glanced at the time on your phone. Thatch sighed and played with his beard, running his fingers through it, trying to think what to do.
“This isn’t me trying to be creepy, but where do you live?”
“Oh like, thirty minutes from here?” You didn’t fancy the walk home this late; even with the street brightly lit, you felt anxiety spike before you heard him laugh.
“Yeah, me too! Would you like me to walk you home?”
“I— would you mind?” you asked and he shrugged.
“Not at all. Plus I get to spend more time with a handsome guy, why would I mind?”
You couldn’t tell if it was the cocktails that warmed your cheeks or the words he’d said, either way, you could feel the heat rising. You nodded and followed Thatch out of the bar, the cool summer air hitting your flushed face and making you shiver, rubbing your arms as goosebumps pricked over your skin.
“Want my jacket?” he asked, already shrugging it off before you could decline. As Thatch helped you into it, you couldn’t help but feel safe and warm in the oversized jacket, smelling his cologne. He was a find, wasn’t he?
Once again, he offered you his arm and you took it without hesitation. The sky was dark, dotted with a few bright stars, the ones determined to shine their brightest even with the city streets below lined with lights. You liked Thatch, you liked how deep and pleasing his voice was. The silly comments and jokes that had your face hurting from how much they made you grin.
Trees lined the sidewalk, covered in string lights, bringing a certain magically romantic feeling to the walk with him. You felt like a teenager with how your heart raced and you kept stealing glances at him.
“So this is your street, sir?” Thatch asked and let you move away.
“Yeah, it is.” You couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed that the night was ending.
“So, maybe we’ll see each other another time?” he asked, rubbing the back of his head, and you nodded.
“Yeah, I guess so...”
Then something came over you, something you didn’t normally do but Thatch was different “Unless you want to come in for a coffee? And I mean actual coffee and not you know,” you added, cheeks flushed before he chuckled and put his arm around your shoulder.
“Sounds good.”
A chance meeting had ended up the start of amazing possibilities and you thanked the stars in the sky you’d decided to go out that evening.
Thatch felt like every wish on a shooting star to find someone perfect had come true.

Platonic Marco, Ace, Thatch, Izou GN Reader
Tumblr media
Marco
You had a feeling he would be the best person to come out to as nonbinary, after all, Marco had always been open and honest about who he was.
You’d asked for an appointment, sitting there in his office, playing with the long sleeve of your sweater and biting the inside of your cheek.
The door to the back of his office opened and he stepped in, giving you a friendly nod and sitting down across from you.
He placed his hands on the table, clasped together as he waited for you to start, knowing that you had something you needed to tell him.
“So, I’ve been thinking about it for a while now.” You started and he nodded for you to continue. “I’m nonbinary, I don’t feel I fit into male or female.. So.. I also want to go by they/them pronouns….” You didn’t look at him, not at all… you were nervous even though you knew it would be alright.
You heard him push out his chair, and you looked up, seeing him in one of his many draws of files before he sat back down.
“They…. Them?” He asked, looking over the rim of his glasses to see you nod. “Right, done yoi!” He picked up his pen and put a strike through your old pronouns and added what you asked for.
He made a note under your picture and you felt yourself relax, all the stress and worry falling from you as he closed your file and gave you a bright smile.
“Thank you, Marco,”
“It’s not a problem, thank you for coming to me about this, I’ll make sure everyone knows about the change.”
Tumblr media
Ace
Sitting with Ace, watching the sunset in the distance, you wanted to tell your best friend you were nonbinary but were worried about how he would react.
Ace was easygoing and kind but that still didn’t stop the nagging feeling in your mind and in your heart that you could get some sort of backlash judgment from him.
“Something on your mind?” He asked, not looking away from the masterpiece painted across the sky.
“Just a little.” You replied and watched the golden hues sink lower into the sea as you took a breath, filling your lungs before letting out a sigh. Ace turned to you now, his brows furrowed in worry.
“Come on, you can tell me anything you know that.” He said and you nodded, that was right, you could.
“I’m nonbinary.” You blurted and could see Ace slowly blink as he processed the information.
“And that is?”
You felt your worries bubble up once again, you didn’t expect to have to explain this to him. “I’m someone who isn’t a man or a woman, I’m neither… I want to go by they/them.” You explained and saw him nod before he shuffled closer to you, arm around your shoulder and giving you a friendly shake.
“You got it, buddy! I’ll kick anyone's ass who fucks with you or refuses to call you that,” He said with a nod, causing you to chuckle.
Tumblr media
Izou
You hadn't intended to come out to Izou, he was such a stirn and serious person that you worried about him getting annoyed or angry at you for wasting his time.
You were sat there with him on watch duty, he was reading the paper as a warm sea breeze ruffled his hair.
You watched the beautiful man as you drummed your fingers on the side of the crows nest.
“Can you stop that?” Izou mumbled and glanced over the paper at you, painted lips pursed together and brows pinched in annoyance.
“Sorry, I needed something to distract myself from the noise in my head.” You replied and dropped your arms down by your sides before Izou folded the paper and looked at you. “I’m not the best at advice but you can tell me, I’ll listen.”
“I’m nonbinary,” You confessed to him and he laughed a little, rolling his eyes and you felt the color draining from your face at his reaction.
“I know, that’s not news to me.” Now it was your turn to gawk at him in confusion and he folded his arms over his chest, leaning against the side. “My sister is trans, I saw that before she even did, and I myself flirt with the line of conventional gender norms.” He explained and then you felt at ease.
“Very brave for coming out though, it took her many years so I know the courage it takes.” He put his hand on your shoulder and gave it a comforting squeeze.
Tumblr media
Thatch
You didn’t even have a chance to come out as nonbinary to Thatch.
He was standing next to you as you dried the plates he was passing to you, another busy dinner service ended, and a long night of dishes ahead of you both.
“Izou tells me your nonbinary.” He said, not looking up from the pan he was scrubbing, you almost dropped the plate in your hand before looking at him with a shocked face.
“Want me to get you a pronoun badge? I don’t mind, it’ll help all these other idiots learn it faster.” He said with a big charming grin that made your heartbeat, he was so kind, everyone was so kind.
“I’d love that…” You mumbled and saw him move from the sink, drying his hand on a dishrag and going to his small office. You carried on drying up, curious about what he was up to. He soon came out of his office, brandishing the tag.
“Where this with pride! It’ll get people used to it faster,” Thatch explained and he pinned it on your apron for you and you felt yourself smile brightly, puffing your chest out proudly.
You’d never felt so loved or accepted in your life, this was your home and your family.

Happy Birthday Thatch!
It's a little late... but Thatch!
Thatch x GN Reader SFW Modern AU
Tumblr media
You wanted to surprise Thach, he worked so hard all the time. He spent hours and hours extra at his restaurant because it was his passion and he always covered absences unpaid.
He worked harder than anyone you knew.
And it was his birthday and you wanted to do something nice for him.
He didn’t ask for much, wanted some new fancy knives for the kitchen. You got him a new spice rack which he’d loved. It was shaped like a whale and had room for all the jars on the back of it.
His smile made you feel so happy, just seeing how much he enjoyed his gifts.
You wanted to cook him a meal. Something he hadn’t had to make himself.
All day you spent in your kitchen, a thousand recipes at your fingertips, and you'd been planning the meal for weeks.
All the things you'd need, all the tutorials for the trickier things.
You got this.
You didn’t got this.
The kitchen was a mess, you’d used almost everything to make the failed dishes.
You sighed and felt yourself close to crying.
You didn’t want Thatch to come home and see this mess.
You also didn’t want him to have to cook tonight either.
And you knew he wasn’t a big fan of going to other places to eat late at night, knowing what it was like trying to close up for the night and people showing up an hour or two before the last sitting.
As you sat on the sofa and contemplated the disaster you’d made of the day, the door opened and you blinked.
Thatch was home early..
“Hey, honey!” Thatch called and you then smelt food, it filled your nose and you realized how hungry you were.
“I was going to cook for you..” You mumbled and looked at the bags in his hand, mouth-watering a little.
“I love and appreciate you pumpkin’ but I knew that and I also knew what I saw in the kitchen was going to happen so I got us takeout.” Thatch started to set everything down on the dining room table as you watched.
“How did you know I was going to mess up?” You narrowed your eyes giving him a scrutinizing look, did he just assume you were going to mess up?
“Well, when Marco AND Ace sent me a message telling me you were struggling I put two and two together. Anyone who asks Marco for help in the kitchen is in deep trouble.” Thatch said with a grin, leaning over and kissing your forehead.
“I got our regular from our fave place, I just wanna spend time with the person I love most in the world, in front of the TV with greasy food and a beer,” He said and wrapped an arm around you. “I appreciate the effort though, mean’s a lot.”
You smiled and felt lighter, happy he was such a perfect, understanding partner.

Hey Franky I was hoping to request a Thatch x reader where the reader is this shy timid person and Thatch and reader go on a date where the reader has to order food and is to scared to so Thatch helps them out
I have dated people like this and I have been the Thatch in many situations so I was excited to work on this one.
Tumblr media
Being a chef at his own restaurant he knows the best places in town to take you.
Dressed up all fancy you head to the place, he booked weeks ago to make sure you guys had a table.
You are in awe at how nice it is here, dim lights but not too dark, every table is spaced out, there are plants everywhere, and a water feature in the center which you peer into and see fish swimming around eating their dinner.
You smile as he takes your hand, the waitress leading you to your seats.
The place is full of chatter, not too loud, after all, Thatch knows you are a shy person and loud places make you uncomfortable.
Handing the menu the waitress asks “Drinks?”
And you freeze up a little.
You start to stammer and stumble to grab the drinks menu and flip through it.
“Hey hun, they have that mocktail you really liked when we went out with Ace and Marco the other week, and they have the regular soda you get when we go places.” Thatch reaches across the table and places his hand on yours, rubbing over your knuckles with a reassuring smile on his face.
You nod and feel a wave of relief wash over you as you order that. “And whatever the house has on tap for me, thanks!” He nods to the waitress.
“Thank you,” You say, feeling a little silly that you struggled with something most people would consider so easy.
“Hey, no problem, want me to go through the menu with you now before she gets back?” You nod and he shuffles closer.
“What are you in the mood for?”
The two of you go through the menu, you tell him what you’d like and he runs through the options, you find him much easier to talk to than most people so this is a breeze. You feel his hand on your thigh, always there to calm you, and reassure you.
He doesn’t order for you he doesn’t want to ever make you feel you can’t do it yourself, he will if you ask him through.
The woman comes back with the drinks, setting them down and picking up her pad. “Ready to order?” She asks and you nod, sitting up straighter and able to give your order, and you feel the hand on your leg give you a squeeze, a little extra courage, and a silent you got this.
“I’ll order dessert for us later, I want it to be a surprise anyway,” Thatch said with a cheeky grin and a wink, you could have melted.
“Sounds good, you know what I like, I trust you.”
