Since I've been into Bauhaus for years and B-T members have mentioned them as an influence, going deep into the roots is something I enjoy. I wasn't sure of writing this (long post), but the two bands are really important at a personal level, gonna share some thoughts.
The first time I watched Physical Neurose PV, the aesthetics inmediately reminded me of Telegram Sam MV. Sakurai has mentioned that he enjoyed "Shadow of Light" (1984), an archive with promotional videos of the band. So, it's possible he got some inspiration from it.
youtube
Physical Neurose (1988)
youtube
Telegram Sam (1980)
Tbh, there are several interviews where Sakurai (love him for being enthusiastic about the band) shows his appreciation for them, their image and Peter Murphy's vocals. He has highlighted Mask and The Sky's Gone Out as important records since he was a teenager.
It is well known that B-T members enjoy post-punk and goth bands, Imai's love for Love & Rockets, and Hidehiko and Yuta have also shown interest in Bauhaus and Peter Murphy's solo albums. They even got Daniel Ash in Schiz.o Genso -the spiderman mix-.
Six/nine videos also make me recall Bauhaus live at Riverside (1982), look at Murphy's outfit, body language, his extravagant dance moves, and the spotlight game. Also, Ash & Murphy dynamics on stage were similar to Atsushi & Hisashi in early performances.
Another example of getting inspiration from the English band might be in the title of "Mr. Darkness and Mrs. Moonlight", which made me remember "Who Killed Mr. Moonlight". Maybe it's a coincidence but as a fan, it didn't go unnoticed.
And of course here, I'm going to mention The Mortal's cover of Spirit <3 (I was very moved when I listened to this cover for the first time).
Gonna add this Bauhaus live version too 'cause it's so good and when you watch The Mortal's live version you can tell that Sakurai has possibly watched this performance at least once.
youtube
I recommend to watch that entire show (Gotham, 1999), if you like vampiric costumes, hats and boas.
I'd like to include Hamlet Machine & Sponge Spirit cover, which can be found in the Satori: A Tribute To Bauhaus (1998) album:
youtube
I'll finish by saying that Issay & Atsushi went to watch Murphy's live shows together during the 90s, soo lovely! It's cool to see how music connects people and inspires.

The Witch and the Beast - First PV Impressions
Tumblr media
Director: Takayuki Hamana Character Design: Hiroya Iijima Animation Work: Yokohama Animation Lab
The day has come! The Witch and the Beast trailer popped out of nowhere while I was watching anime, and I had to pause to fully take in the trailer and the staff list. When I first saw Yokohama Animation Lab, I wasn't exactly happy. I have limited experience with their work, and in terms of anime studio years, I would say they're fairly new. They don't really have enough animes for me to fully grasp their style. I've only finished The Genius Prince from them and seen clips of 'The Great Cleric, which genuinely looks kind of awful, if I'm being honest. So, I was extremely anxious as soon as I saw Yokohama Animation Lab as the studio.
But the trailer footage was better than what I personally expected when I saw it. It still had some things that made me feel iffy, but there were also some genuinely good points.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the up-close shots look great. The facial structure and expressions match the manga extremely well, and you really feel like you're seeing the characters come to life. A lot of personality shines through in the close-up shots, from Guideau's intensity and craziness to Ashaf's enigmatic smile. The character design took me multiple rewatches to get used to, but I really did end up enjoying it a lot. I also enjoyed the music choice for the trailer.
The trailer was quite short, so we couldn't really judge the animation or talk about most things in depth, and so far I have no major complaints about it. However, I did want to talk about one thing.
Tumblr media
I feel like some of the color choices in the trailer felt too faded or toned down, which betrays the complexity and detail of the scenes in the manga. The black and white frames in this shot feels out of place as they don't mesh well with the overall faded-out scene. I understand that they are aiming for a storybook aesthetic, but I believe they should have made these types of scenes denser in color, even vibrant, to create a contrast with the generally grim environment of all the scenes outside of them. The covers for the series serve as a good showcase of this, with vibrant scenes that are highly detailed and beautiful, complemented by dark shading.
On to the specific staff announced, for the character designs we have Hiroya Iijima, who I feel is mostly doing a good job. The faces of the characters seem to look very close to the art style of the manga. I do feel it's lacking a bit of flair that we've seen from his character designs in Afro Samurai, but I think it's still very good. I'm not extremely familiar with Takayuki Hamana and have never watched any anime he's directed, however from what I understand he tends to bring a group of animators with him, like Yuuta Kiso, who appears in a majority of his projects. I also hope he returns here, as he's a very talented animator. Now, back to Hamana. I've checked some of the openings he's done for Sorcerous Stabber Orphen in order to get a sense of his style, but none of them really impressed me all that much. I still can't get a good grasp on his style, and there's nothing indicating that he would do well in Witch and the Beast, in particular.
The most worrying part for me is likely the studio, Yokohama Animation Lab. As I've mentioned before, they haven't done much to show what they're fully capable of, and a lot of their animes currently out are rather subpar. However, this trailer does look better than a lot of the previous PVs I've seen. I am worried about how many animes they're currently working on, though.
The staff/studio worries me slightly; however, the PV, as short as it is, did look mostly positive, so I will be cautious but hopeful for this upcoming adaptation.

what I assume about you based on your favorite ghost and pals song
happy days, appetite of a people pleaser, hyperdontia, or chattering (2019): you're in middle school
novocaine or the distortionist: you most likely call them hot and you scare me. probably also in middle school tbh
candle queen: you're not really a ghost fan you just know this one song
honey i'm home: you're either genuinely a fan of the lyrics and themes or you just like charon and/or charon x norman
reckless battery burns: good taste this song is very well produced and the pv is cool BUT. I know you care more about tamari
aura: you like women.
star of the show: you like women. and you're the "me and the bad bitch I pulled by being autistic" meme as a person
the things I deserve: you ALSO like women and you're either really going through it or this song got you through it
amygdala's rag doll: you either know it from the animation memes or you're overcome with a boiling hot rage every time someone calls it trypophobia
rotary dial: you probably relate to henry unfortunately
black & white: you have bad taste (it's okay, me too I love this one) but you're genuinely so sweet tbh
housewife radio: you're correct and probably sympathize with nancy. also more than likely you can or have done a full analysis of every little detail in this song
colorbars: you're into glitchy and digital aesthetics and you much prefer this design over his broadcast illusion one. if you're a. certain way. you might simplify him down to Gay but cmon people we are past that it is 2023
anything from nothing perfect that's NOT perfect nothing: you chose the "i'm not like other girls" option but that's okay because it's an under appreciated ep
perfect nothing: you think you chose the "i'm not like other girls" option. banger song though
those who carried on or two of a kind: I am in love with you. dystopian stuff is your vibe and you're really curious about the pv wip characters/wish it wasn't left unfinished
spider on the wall (2018)(my fav): you scare me. objectively bad taste (affectionate)
spider on the wall (2022): you scare me worse. objectively bad taste (DEROGATORY)
in iolite or chelovek: do you exist (HI I LOVE YOU) if you do you love it when ghost does stuff that's actually different and cool
uncanny, adapertio, or I had to die to survive: you'll cling onto any oc or relationship ghost drops and you probably had theories about uncanny and adapertio when you saw the similarities
culpability or pierre janet's criminal defense: you stuck around during the slow period/hiatus and I will, for some reason, assume you're an older fan
entomologists (2019): I don't think you exist either but I love you. a lot. really into the "bug" part of industrial catholic bugcore
scapeg♾️at: you relate HARD to this song. want to see your abusers in the GROUND. probably a real petty person but I admire that
deathbody: nobody seems to really like this one for some reason? but if you DO I assume you're an older fan who related to foolish and/or ttid in your youth
end world normopathy: be honest you're here for tamari

Hey, I read the tags on a post and was wondering... what artifacts make Lily and PV's dynamic toxic? If it's about the love potion/love letter there is no confirmation that was something either of them did... there are a lot of artifacts in the museum that are just like. General stuff from the magic school before it fell-- most of the artifacts related to Lily and PV and the ancients specifically are in the history section.
For those of you who don't really care about Cookie Run Kingdom, have a Read More bc this might be a little lengthy lol
(also, purelily shippers, you guys might wanna avoid reading this one)
So I wanna preface this with a few things:
1.) I haven't finished everything the game has to offer yet! I went through the Tower of Sweet Chaos' story, but I'm actually stuck on Raspberry Cookie in 11-27, so depending on what happens, my opinion could change and I could just look like a fool here lmao
2.) In those tags, current dynamic = Pure Vanilla and Dark Enchantress (who's also White Lily)'s dynamic I don't dislike the purelily ship or look down on anyone who does. I actually really fascinated by their history, haha. But personally, my heart's not set on shipping them in their current state because uhh... as far as I know, Dark Enchantress is currently trying to kill Pure Vanilla atm.
That said, lemme spill some of my thoughts on the relics here bc I've actually been wanting to talk about them since I discovered them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You're right in that there's no concrete evidence that these relics were theirs. No one knows for sure except the writers themselves. But on the flipside, there's also a concerning amount of detail that suggests it being a very real possibility that I haven't seen debunked yet.
One of the biggest concerns is how the Nameless Transcript is within this set of relics. It's titled as "Nameless", but it's strongly hinted that it's White Lily's, which makes you wonder if this set of relics is partially themed after her.
Tumblr media
The other relic within the set that's also worth noting is the Lost Portrait. It's not as big of a concern as the Nameless Transcript, but it does solidify that at least several items in this set are themed after White Lily, since this specific portrait was a pivotal item in her backstory.
Tumblr media
That aside, let's talk about the relics in question themselves, because those two have some interesting things going on as well.
Starting with Someone's Love Letter, this relic honestly feels like a direct parallel to Pure Vanilla's letter.
Tumblr media
Thematically, this makes sense; the set of relics this letter's in is clearly themed after Pure Vanilla while the Love Letter's relic set is hinted to be themed after White Lily, and romantically or not, these two really loved each other at one point in their lives, friends or otherwise. But the thing is, Pure Vanilla always had a strong sense of morals, so it's highly doubtful he wrote the love letter, themes aside.
Tumblr media
White Lily, on the other hand, was always shown to have good intentions, but highly questionable morals. She doesn't mind violating any rule she has to to get what she wants, as long as the end justifies the means (i.e sneaking into several forbidden areas of the academy, suggesting taking a piece of the 1st headmaster's soul, etc.).
But the idea of her making a love potion just to get Pure Vanilla's affection sounds way too sinister for White Lily, because despite all the damages she's caused, her intentions are still shown to be good-natured. Also, Devsis makes a conscious effort to make sure the relics match whatever subject they want to associate it with, and the love potion's aesthetic is vastly different from White Lily's design.
Tumblr media
But remember that White Lily is also Dark Enchantress. The Tower of Sweet Chaos' story showed that Dark Enchantress isn't just White Lily possessed, brainwashed, or anything like that. She IS Dark Enchantress. Once she was out of the oven, she made a conscious decision to be who she wanted to be, which means the side of her that's Dark Enchantress has always existed within her, even back when she was White Lily. And what does Dark Enchantress look like?
Tumblr media
Colors: Check Heart theme: Check (staff) Love theme: Check (Dark "Enchantress")
If this is all true, does it paint a real ugly picture regarding White Lily and Pure Vanilla's relationship? Yeah. Do I actually believe White Lily would actually do something like this though? Also yes. Depending on what the reason is and given her past actions, I don't think it'd be above her at this point.
I will say though; her motivations are usually well-intended, so it doesn't feel right to assume she'd do something like this out of pure whim. I don't know what that motivation is, but I'd like to believe that White Lily wouldn't do this anything like this without a good reason. My personal theory is that she either bought or made the potion herself, but not for sinister reasons.
Of course, I could be wrong about everything and those relics could really belong to some rando cookies lol. But when I say I can't bring myself to ship them much, this is kinda why :')

Hey im writing a fic and since you seem pretty Knowledgeable on darrell and shannon what kind of vehicle would those two drive please help
ohh thats actually an excellent question. out of the six main bots darrell and shannon are the only ones that drive onscreen, darrell drives a forklift in "you're in control" and shannon and darrell drive cars in "plaza film festival" (not counting the time ernesto was a train conductor, that one doesnt count)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so we definitely know those two know how to drive at least a little. as for the type of car they'd drive- maybe they could take inspiration from PV and have some kind of stylized, themed car based on their personal preferences/aesthetic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
or maybe they could have a more down-to-earth sort of "family" car, one that isnt too expensive to replace if any of the bots wreck it. like this one, which looks like it could be the same one that darrell is driving in plaza film festival
Tumblr media
for my personal opinion it probably depends on the situation in ur fanfic, like is it going to be a shared car or a personal car?? and what character does it belong to??? i think any of the options i brought up would be a good choice for them tbh

I started working on Early VV from August 1st, today is August 19th and I can say I'm at a good stage with the project.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can say that the biggest job was the technical one of fixing all the information and the DNA on simPe, also because at a certain point I noticed that I also had to fix many Early PV and Early ST sims, because for some reason Gutosimmer did the job halfway? I don't know how to explain it, but some sims had the right info and some had it completely random. I noticed that he specially modified the info for some to make sense with his story, I left those unchanged, but many sims were like they had just come out of the CAS and this disturbed my disturb to have everything perfect. (This is not a criticism for GS, on the contrary, I invite you to download his Early neighborhoods because they are BEAUTIFUL, it's just a technical flaw that I noticed that disturbs me because I'm a damn perfectionist. Love ya GS 💓💓)
However, installing all the sims (including the ancestors) was not easy, because they were really, really a lot!
Now I'm working on the aesthetic part of the neighborhood. I've downloaded so many hood decos and now that I've finally got "better nightlife" working you can imagine how happy I am to be able to download all the hood decos I couldn't use before!
The English side of the neighborhood (the Capp side) is completely ready. The Capp house was also given a makeover on the inside, while the other houses had a makeover only on the outside. (Aside from the community lots, those have been changed inside as well)
The Italian part (the Monty part) of the neighborhood is under construction. Monty's Ranch has been given a makeover both inside and out. Arlecchino's house is a lot bin's lot that I remodeled to be in the Mediterranean style of Veronaville.
The Dottore's house has not yet been edited. And neither the other big house and the community lots on the Italian side.

Some lesser known idol/music franchises
A list of some lesser known music franchises I follow. Not really a proper recommendation/introduction post rather than just some personal thoughts. Also I haven’t properly ‘gotten into’ many of these, just listened to the songs... maybe one day when I have time 💪😔
Tumblr media
Akroglam
A neat little audio drama project with a futuristic setting and chill music. Finished in early 2022 and no longer releasing new content. Found out about it thanks to the collab with Denonbu, which is funny since roughly half a year later one had died a hero and the other lived long enough to become a villain (eneftees). I only followed it for the ~6 months before it ended, but it’ll stick with me for a long time thanks to the story, aesthetics, girls and especially the music being so good. I listen to every single one of the original songs (yes, the have covers too which are good as well) regularly, and my most listened ones are Angraecum, Ilusion and True Colors. I honestly can’t recommend this project enough, the whole story and (almost) all of the songs are on their yt channel in full length so do check it out if you’re even a little bit interested. The early chapters have English subtitles too.
Tumblr media
Burns Skool
I found out about this one thanks to Taichi You (Chacha in t7s and also has a role in Akroglam!) tweeting about it. I honestly haven’t delved too deep into the story or characters, but from what I’ve gathered it’s elementary school boys making hype music. It’s really nice to listen to boyish female vocals every once in a while, and I was happy to find Fairouz Ai in the cast in addition to aforementioned Taichi. My favorite song so far is probably Gradation Age.
Tumblr media
Junketsu Surfinia
A girls love idol project that I found out about thanks to none other than Akina. Currently a very modest sized project and you can kind of hear it in the production of some of the songs, but I really hope it finds its audience and has a chance to grow. The songs are available for purchase on their Booth store even for overseas customers, which was a nice surprise for someone who’s used to jumping through hoops to buy JP releases. The song (Lide On, Akina’s solo of course) even came with a pdf with English translated lyrics.
Tumblr media
Charms!!
Another project that releases its story on their yt channel, this time in a more VN/social game -ish form. I’ve read/watched/listened to the earliest chapters and found the setting interesting and the characters very wholesome and cute, so I was a bit disappointed to see they had chosen a pretty safe direction with the songs when they began releasing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that or that the songs are bad or anything, in fact I think the production values are good and have found a handful to listen to (Kesshite karenu hana and  Goodnight Honey for example). Most of it so far just isn’t my cup of tea, but I’ll keep following the project as I really like the format and do think the quality is good.
Tumblr media
Idol Bu Show
My most recent discovery. Haven’t really had time to check out the characters or story and all I know it’s apparently about Sengoku-era warlords producing their own idol units, which sounds just the right amount of wacky. I skimmed through the discography and somehow it felt very 00′s overall, in a good sense. The songs also have a lot of traditional Japanese elements as can be expected from the setting. The one song stuck in my head is however eurobeat (Brave Call ! ~& Just Now We come!~). There’s apparently an anime movie/PV of some sort floating around, so maybe I should check that out first if I plan to delve deeper.
Tumblr media
LiveRevolt
Apparently this project ended after a lot of drama and setbacks, which is very unfortunate since the early songs especially are really good (my favorites are Aoku Nare and Set Fire). I regret not being able to follow the project when it was still active, since I do like its wilder take on idols. Maybe I’ll check out the manga which apparently has scanlations to ease my pain.
Tumblr media
Denonbu
First of all, pirate eveything dnnb until scamco has pulled back the shady eneftee business it’s still attempting with this franchise. Now I obviously wouldn’t be this mad if this hadn’t been such an extremely promising project. During its first year it singlehandedly killed all my hype for a certain other dj girl project just by doing everything from music to character design to interacting with the fanbase better. The second year started off well with consistently good releases and promising lore, until they dropped the ball by jumping on a dying money laundering scam and now I really don’t know how to feel about this project. Guess I’m following the releases but refuse to give them any money and hope they’ll eventually snap out of it. Anyways, if I started listing every dnnb track I like it’d give me a carpal tunnel syndrome due to the discography being all around fantastic, so just go listen to Akina kill it on Itadaki Babel.
Tumblr media
8 Beat Story
People always wonder how t7s has lasted so long despite not being profitable but for me 8bs will always be the real miracle. The game itself was outdated even at the time of the release (imagine the earliest version of llsif you can but somehow even clunkier), and nowadays it’s half dead with only a handful of events per year, but somehow still running. However, they keep releasing music, holding lives and continuing the story, which are the most crucial parts of the project, so I’m not worried for its future for now. Being such a small project gives it freedom to do basically whatever they want with the content, which has resulted in pretty ambitious or even crazy stories, and refreshing discography. I also can’t help but respect its occasional unapologetic edginess, mostly carried by the rival unit 2_wEI (Despair is a banger). The main idols also have a nice variety of songs, and I like the gimmick of mixing the 8 girls in different units depending on the song, with no set sub-units. Some of my favorites are BoyFriend, Count It Down and Genjimonogatari.

[image description: a flag for the mogai musicagender “chimeratolsmusica”. it has a black background, a red diamond shape, and black bars over the red diamond. end image description.]
decided to coin a vocaloid musicagender for fun :3
i love vocaloid and this is one of my favorite songs so
this is chimeratolsmusica: a musicagender for the song “chimera” by atols. the gender relates to the themes, aesthetic, or lyrics of this song.
the flag is meant to resemble the pv of twisted dna strands in red and black, but i’m not good at designing stuff so this is my attempt at making something resembling it.

coca cookie and/or pure vanilla cookie for the character bingo thingy
HIIII THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME TALK ABOUT THE SCRIMBLOS ❤️
I’m guessing you meant cocoa for the first one and if not!!! Idc I love underrated characters!! Even though she’s not too underrated anymore due to the leap to kingdom lol
Tumblr media
Okay so this bingo is a bit barren but it’s mostly bc the squares don’t really fit my thoughts about her. Like, she’s a cool character!!! I like her!! It’s just that, since she’s not a main character (or what I would consider a main character, seeing how having even the slightest bit of dynamic personality makes a cookie an mc in my book), there’s not a ton to look into haha
I really really REALLY like cocoas design. It’s so cozy and warm and it represents everything I love about winter, that being hot cocoa and knit sweaters!! Her aesthetic just makes me feel warm lol. She’s really friggin cute. I would LOVE to have cocoa with her on a cold winters night.
The one thing I don’t like about her is that she has filler character syndrome. Her one personality trait is that she likes cocoa and 80% of her voice lines in kingdom have the word cocoa in it and it kinda grates on the ears after some time. But tbh half the characters have this syndrome in one form or another so whatever. I like her. She’s cute.
Okay now pure vanilla and I have many words for him
Tumblr media
I will make this clear RIGHT NOW. Pure vanilla is my favorite ancient. He always will be forever and ever. I fucking LOVE HIM AND EVERYTHING HE IS HES JUST TJDKFOWPFN I AM SO MENTALLY ILL ABOUT HIM
Fucking… altruism, man. Pure unbridled selflessness makes me weak in the knees because that kind of LOVE for everyone and everything around you is so hard to actually achieve, especially for a guy like him, who’s gone through so much. His greatest weakness and his biggest strength are both that he is entirely unselfish and that he sees the good in everyone and UGHHH ID DIE FOR YOU PV THAT CHARACTER TROPE MAKES MY HEART GO BA BUMP BA BUMP
god I want to dissect this man so bad. I want to sit him down on my leather couch and pick his brains. I want to do a full character analysis on him one day. There is so much beneath the surface that I want to shovel my hands into and coat myself with. It’s so hard to keep this post brief because THERES SO MUCH I COULD SAY ABOUT HIM BUT IM NOT MAKING THIS AN ESSAY
I will talk about why I put a question mark over that one square though. It’s not the whole fandom that gets him wrong, just a portion. I’m talking about the people who make pure vanilla a “soft uwu bean who’s never done anything wrong and is too good for this world 🥺🥺” like no. Shut up. Pure Vanilla is not a cute little bottom twink. He’s a tired old man who lost everything in a war against someone he once loved very much, someone who’s metamorphosis HE WATCHED HAPPEN IN REAL TIME. Put this man in a retirement home!!!! Let him play some got dam bingo!!! He needs to sleep at 6pm!!!! Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok rant over this post is long enough as it is lol

just as i wondered why we were hearing the song playing in the room like a dance practice rather than just hearing the album audio like a normal performance video, i found out. i really REALLY like this video. i think it feels good for new years time, and i think the look of the space really suits an aesthetic that i've been interested in lately but don't have the words to describe
and i also think that if i want to reach, and if i want to read the ditto MVs as a little more literal (these are real girls at Heesoo's school who she fantasizes about being close with but can't bring herself to approach in reality) then part of my brain is like "oh this is the kind of space the girls' characters in the MV would hang out in. somewhere with a party atmosphere, somewhere where they can show what they're working on and people will be entertained." and that kind of makes me sadder for heesoo because... a lot of times friend circles are a lot more open than they seem. sometimes a party or a gathering is less "i only want people who deserve to be here" and more "if there's a chair for you to sit in, room for you to stand, and you aren't going to be an active shithead, then you have your place there."
a lot of people in the comments of the Ditto MVs have talked about relating to Heesoo, and i always wonder what that's like because i'm just... not that kind of person. but ive known those kinds of people. you know? i've also never been a major center of attention (despite my desire for attention and all the stupid shit i've done to make people laugh), but i've always been kind of a tag-along. so i suppose if i mentally canonized this pv as part of the DittoVerse (lol) my highschool self would have fit into the social category demonstrated by the backup dancers here. i'm not a heesoo, and i'm not a newjeans.
with those thoughts running through my head, this video also kind of brought back the sadness i'd feel for loners in school. because, to me as a teenager, the world was wide open. everybody was someone to talk to. but for more anxious people i knew, they felt like they were trapped alone in a school building with hundreds of walking social riddles that they'd never be able to solve, every day.
recently, i described to a friend how in school i used to occasionally befriend people who i saw alone a lot and then introduce them to one another, because to me there was no use in them all being alone when they all obviously had the same interests and social preferences. the friend i told this to called this border collie behavior. that comparison made me laugh
now that i'm not in school, i feel like an anxious border collie with no idea what to do. i've never had so much difficulty seeking out social experiences. i've always had hundreds of people to pick from, and to introduce to one another. i've always been able to just tag along, be an intentional third wheel, or focus on trying to help others find their future best friend. in much smaller groups of people to make connections with, i feel a little helpless. i'm not alone in life now, but i wish i was in a room lounging on a couch where someone more radiant than me is making everyone laugh. i wish i was cheering someone on. i wish i was a tag-along with someone who really belongs in a place and just invited me because there's room. i wish i had someone a bit awkward and lonely to bring with me and introduce to people.

It's not really entitlement to complain about something you don't like as long as you're not bringing it to the faces of the people who made it. I wouldn't complain on Twitter with its very public space where creators are more likely to see it, but complaining on Tumblr is generally safer. Complaining in and of itself is not always a demand for change. Sometimes you just really don't like something.
And I appreciate how much it sucks to see people complain about something you like as I definitely see that all the time, but I think in terms of Trigun there were a lot of expectations before the pv and what was given just aesthetically felt out of place for many of the people who aren't happy with it, so they're worried. Some people are being shittier than others, as happens in any fandom, but the good news is that if anyone is that obnoxious it's a great chance to block them and never see their posts ever again.
The thing is I wasn't referring to the people complaining about it in a respectful way, but to the ones that are being shitty about it and/or making assumptions that have nothing to do with what we saw in the trailer. Tumblr is pretty tame, but facebook and twitter are full of edge lords being transphobic and homophobic about Vash's new look. So, if the shoe doesn't fit, you know?

10 Signs Your Solar Power System Needs An Upgrade
In the ever-evolving landscape of renewable energy, keeping your photovoltaic (PV) installation up-to-date and functioning at peak efficiency is not just a matter of convenience, but a necessity for sustainable living. As technology advances, so does the capability and efficiency of solar power units. This continuous progression means that what was once cutting-edge can quickly become outdated, necessitating solar system repairs or an upgrade to stay aligned with the best in solar technology.
An upgraded system not only enhances energy production but also contributes to a more resilient and environmentally friendly energy solution. Recognizing when your setup requires a modern touch is crucial for maintaining high performance, ensuring energy independence, and reducing carbon footprint.
Here are some signs that your PV system might be due for an upgrade.
Decreased Energy Production
One of the most obvious signs is a significant drop in energy output. Aging panels or components that are no longer as effective as they used to be can lead to this decrease, signalling the need for an upgrade.
Increased Electricity Bills
A noticeable increase in your electricity bills can be a red flag. It indicates that your PV unit isn't generating enough power, forcing you to rely more on grid electricity, which defeats the purpose of having a PV installation.
Visible Panel Damage
Physical damage to the panels, like cracks, discolouration, or deformation, can greatly reduce their efficiency. These damages can stem from environmental factors or wear and tear over time.
Outdated Inverter Technology
The inverter is an essential component of your setup. If you have an older model, it might not be converting energy as effectively as newer models, or it might not be compatible with the latest panel technologies.
Shading Issues
Environmental changes, such as new buildings or tree growth, can cause shading on your panels, severely impacting their performance. Upgrading to panels with better shade tolerance or reconfiguring your setup might be necessary.
Frequent System Interruptions
If you're experiencing regular shutdowns or interruptions in performance, this could indicate a problem with your unit, ranging from connectivity issues to component malfunctions.
Lack of Monitoring Features
Newer PV units come equipped with advanced monitoring capabilities, providing real-time data on performance and efficiency. If your system doesn't have these features, you might be missing out on crucial information that can help optimize performance and identify potential issues.
Insufficient Capacity for Increased Demand
If your energy needs have grown since the installation of your PV unit, you might find that your current setup is no longer sufficient. Expanding your system or upgrading to more efficient models can help meet your increased energy needs.
Inefficiency in Extreme Weather Conditions
Older panels and components may not perform well under harsh weather conditions. If you notice significant drops in performance during very hot or cold weather, this is a sign that your system could benefit from an upgrade.
Expiry of Warranty Period
The end of the warranty period can be a good time to evaluate the performance and efficiency of your setup. Upgrading to newer models can be more cost-effective in the long run compared to paying for maintenance or replacements out of warranty.
In addition to these signs, it's important to consider the rapid advancements in PV technology. Upgrading can offer you the benefits of increased efficiency, better durability, and more aesthetically pleasing designs that can complement your property.
Furthermore, an upgrade is not only a technical improvement but also an environmental commitment. Newer models often have a smaller carbon footprint in their manufacturing process and are more efficient in converting solar energy, contributing to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
Lastly, an upgrade can be an excellent opportunity to reassess your energy needs and goals. As our lifestyles and energy demands evolve, ensuring that our renewable energy sources keep pace is crucial for long-term sustainability and efficiency.
Paying attention to these signs and acting upon them can significantly enhance the performance and lifespan of your PV unit. Upgrading your setup not only ensures you're harnessing solar energy most effectively but also aligns your home or business with the latest in renewable energy technology. A proactive approach to your PV unit's maintenance and upgrade can yield substantial benefits, both financially and environmentally.

The Witch and the Beast #1 - The Witch and the City of Blazing Red

A bit late on this, aren't I? But no matter what, I was going to write about this, and I will write about every episode too – don't worry about it!
If you were in the know how of Yokohama Animation Lab's recent animes, much like me, you were probably very nervous about The Witch and the Beast adaptation. I mean, I made a whole write-up on the outlook, which mostly hinges on director Hamana's consistency in terms of quality and his tendency to bring in specific animators. Well, now that the episode is out, how do I actually feel?
It's… surprisingly very well done. Of course, I'm not saying it's perfect; the biggest issues are likely the limited animation and a bit of off-modelness. But I'm not going to lie, guys. Maybe I am biased because The Witch and the Beast is one of my favorite mangas, but I genuinely had a lot of fun with this debut, and I kind of loved it. It felt like it had the soul of the manga I love despite some production hiccups.
First, let's talk about what you probably felt but haven't been able to confirm. The episode was indeed better than the PV. I got a sense of this as I was watching, and I was really kind of confused about why I didn't feel like the PV looked this good. When I looked back, it was very interesting to see how many differences there were and the improvements that made the shots so much better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The obvious improvement in the shading of Guideau and Ashaf is apparent, but I also love the addition of the impact gust that they added to Guideau's stomp. Personally, it was something I noticed in the PV as feeling a bit too still. The only effects in the PV were just simple camera shakes, which didn't really sell the impact of her stomp that much at all. Seeing improvements like these from the trailer to the actual episode fills me with a lot of hope for the production. I feel like it shows that, unlike more recent Yokohama productions, they are trying a significant amount more.
If you couldn't already tell from some of the close-ups I've provided in this post, while the on-modelness of some farther away shots can be questioned, the close-ups in this show are absolutely gorgeous. I wasn't super sold on Iijima's character designs initially, but after seeing the improved shading and the various shots they kind of hid from us in the PV, the designs are freaking gorgeous up close. The Witch and the Beast, the manga, has always been a visual spectacle that relied a lot on its art direction, aesthetics, and of course, character designs. While it's nearly impossible for the anime to match it, I think they came very close. The characters' eyes are so pretty; I love the compositing effects they applied to them. It feels like it gives them a lot of depth and kind of like an otherworldly blur, which I think looks great. The features are sharp; they're so pretty. Everyone has their premium eyelash extensions on, and it's just about as aesthetically pleasing to me as the manga. To be honest, it might be my favorite character design for the season.
And since I also briefly mentioned the compositing, I have to apologize to Natsumi Uchida. I specifically pointed her out in my social media rambles as someone who was making me worry a bit. And that mostly stems from her recent effort in The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World, which, to be frank, I thought was terrible. The effects looked cheap, just due to how bright and almost neon at times they are. They don't fit in with their environments; it just wasn't pleasant to look at. However, her work in The Witch and the Beast is so much better. While some effects are somewhat questionable, like the smoke and Ashaf's crow appearing when he was saving Guideau, I would definitely say the compositing was a highlight in this episode. It really puts a stamp on the character designs with the beautiful compositing over them. It makes every scene paired with the art direction feel so dense, like everything is just so in-depth.
The art direction in this show is probably its best visual element. It absolutely shines. I mean, if you had to pick something out from this production as a major highlight, it has to be one of the undeniable biggest pros of the show so far. The series is a dark fantasy, but it's not a dull one. A lot of adaptations, I feel, confuse this with each other a bit. A dark fantasy doesn't have to mean dull colors or a realistic design; after all, The Witch and the Beast is all about its aesthetically gothic yet fantasy appearance that is quite grandiose and beautiful in nature, and the art direction covers that perfectly. So huge credit to the art director, Hirotsugu Kakoi and his crew at Kagoshima Ramecahirim.
One of my biggest worries for the anime adaptation, when I first saw the trailer, was actually, believe it or not, kind of its color palette. I genuinely thought they didn't get a full sense of Satake's style. It felt a bit too plain to me when I always imagined the colors in the world in this series to be very solid and strong, while not bright. I think the series functions on its boldness, and the backgrounds are a perfect example of it. The opening, I think, is a great example of this too, just them surrounded by those buildings in the midst of the night feels almost overwhelmingly dense. It really serves as the main appeal in many of the show's shots and ties everything (the compositing, the character designs, and the aesthetic) all together. The buildings and architectures, a mix of 2D and 3D, blend in so perfectly. You can take so many of those shots and make them your wallpaper; honestly, it's so pretty. It's also not just the buildings; the flowers in the room where Guideau and Ione fight were stunning. I also love the visual of the flowers always fluttering up due to impact; it just created such a magical experience for me. It's such a simple addition, but it was great. That, paired with the great soundtrack which goes from almost Persona-like music to soft notes of somberness that build up to the release of a monster, just all goes together so well.
At the beginning of this write-up, I already noted its production issues in terms of sometimes limited animation and a good bit of off-modelness in farther away shots (which I hope they'll fix in the Blu-Ray). There are many instances of very solid animation, which you can just look up on Sakugabooru if you want an example. I'm very impressed by Hamana's ability to manage this level of quality and a very strong self-identity of the show's visuals.
His direction in this episode, while some people might not like it due to its reminiscent of older styles, is noteworthy. Many of his shots rely on simple zoom-ins and zoom-outs, which I would say was a more common technique around 2008 or so. His way of transitioning is also a lot less focused on smooth transitions than most styles nowadays. For example, in Ghost Hunt, Gungrave, or Library of Bantorra, the flow of the storyboard is much less smooth and flowing than modern ones. Hamana's boards feel much more jumpy, I suppose? There's a larger gap that isn't covered by anything, which seems to have given many reviewers the impression of a slideshow. Personally, I don't mind it too much, as I think he still has some pretty interesting ideas. The transitions to Guideau getting stabbed and then grabbing Ione, I thought were really well done and mesmerizing. All the choices for the fluttering flowers were probably directly from him.
And hey, normally I don't like his openings, but the opening for The Witch and the Beast is badass, and I might write an individual write-up for it this week. However, I would also love to see other storyboarders and episode directors on some episodes to compare, especially for future episodes like for Johan and Phanora. I would love to see somebody like Shinj Itadaki give it a try, who I really hope to see in this series at some point. I think it's very possible due to the fact he's worked with Hamana before, and he's worked with Yokohama Animation Lab before. Much like a lot of the key animators here, he was also on Ancient Magus Bride S2, which, if you guys didn't know for some reason, contains an oddly large amount of staff that Hamana worked with before across the years, and they're also appearing in The Witch and the Beast now.
As you can tell, I really enjoyed the debut, despite its issues. I could ramble about it all day; there are so many things I want to talk about. However, I think it would be best to save that for when we get to future episodes. In this write-up, I've already spent a lot of time discussing more of what I like about the general direction and visual appeal of the series. Hopefully, in future episodes, I will be able to go more in-depth on specific storyboards, direction, and visuals that the upcoming episodes will showcase. I'll see you guys next week for the next episode of The Witch and the Beast.

 Polycrystalline vs Monocrystalline Solar Panels
Tumblr media
Solar panels are made up of smaller units that are called solar cells. The most common solar cells are made from silicon, a semiconductor that is the second most abundant element on Earth. In a solar cell, crystalline silicon is sandwiched between conductive layers. Each silicon atom is connected to its neighbors by four strong bonds, which keep the electrons in place so no current can flow.
Did you know that 173 thousand of terawatts of solar energy are intercepted by the Earth every year? That’s ten thousand times more power than the planet’s population uses. So it is possible in the future that one day the world could completely rely on solar energy. If you want to install solar panels at your place, Ur Local Solar is one of the best solar companies in Adelaide.
When you're evaluating solar panels for your photovoltaic (PV) system, you'll find two main categories of panels: monocrystalline solar panels (mono) and polycrystalline solar panels (poly). Both types of panels generate energy from the sun, but there are some key differences to be aware of.
What are monocrystalline solar panels (mono) and polycrystalline solar panels (poly)?
Both monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels serve the same function in the overall solar PV system, they capture energy from the sun and turn it into electricity. Both monocrystalline solar panels and polycrystalline solar panels are good choices for your home.
1. Monocrystalline Solar Panels (mono)
A monocrystalline solar panel is a solar panel that consists of monocrystalline solar cells. These cells are made from cylindrical silicon ingots grown from a single crystal of high-purity silicon, similar to semiconductors. These cells have a unique appearance due to their octagonal shape.
2. Polycrystalline Solar Panels (poly)
Polycrystalline solar panels are solar panels that contain multiple crystals of silicon in a single PV cell. Several pieces of silicon are melted together to form polycrystalline solar panel wafers. These solar panels are square and have a shining blue color as they are made up of many crystals of silicon.
Compared Monocrystalline Solar Panels (mono) & Polycrystalline Solar Panels (poly) on key metrics:-

Higher temperature coefficient / less effective when the temperature changes.
1. Cost:-
Monocrystalline solar panels are more expensive than polycrystalline solar panels when comparing individual panels. However, that doesn't mean it can't be the best option for you. The main factor that determines the price difference between these two solar panels is the silicon structure. When manufacturing monocrystalline panels, the solidification of silicon must be very carefully controlled, which is a more complex process and makes single-crystal solar cells more expensive. Apart from this, the cost of the inverter, wiring, electrical protection, racking, and labor is the same for both solar panels. If you want to install solar panels at the cheapest rates, Ur Local Solar is one of the most affordable best home solar installers in adelaide.
2. Efficiency:-
Now we all know that monocrystalline solar panels are more efficient than polycrystalline solar panels because monocrystalline panels are cut from a single crystal of silicon, which makes it easier for electricity to move through the panel. And this made monocrystalline solar panels more expensive than polycrystalline solar panels. If you want to install commercial solar systems for your place, contact Ur Local Solar and get the best solar installers in adelaide.
3. Aesthetics:-
The main difference in aesthetics between these two Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline types of solar panels is that monocrystalline panels are usually black, while polycrystalline panels are blue.
4. Lifespan:-
Both solar panels, monocrystalline solar panels & polycrystalline solar panels are similar in terms of lifespan. Both panels will produce electricity efficiently for 25 years or more.
5. Temperature coefficient:-
A panel's temperature coefficient is an important measure of how well it performs in hot temperatures. As with efficiency, monocrystalline solar panels outperform polycrystalline solar panels when it comes to temperature coefficient. So monocrystalline solar panels have a better track record at higher temperatures.
Saving money is one of the best reasons to go solar, and whether you choose mono or poly solar panels, you'll reduce your electricity bill. If you too want to go solar and reduce your electricity bill, Ur Local Solar is one of the best Residential solar panel installation in Adelaide.
