liking dnd is so funny because yeah you play the actual game sometimes but mostly you just think about the game and watch other people play the game and slowly go insane thinking about how much you wish you could play the game and hoping that buying more shiny rocks will fix everything

My first ever DND session is tomorrow OOUGHHH I'm nervous but excited!!
I'm playing as a "human" ranger (put in quotes bc my character isn't actually human but is just masquerading as one), if you guys have any tips on what to do in a first session please let me know I'm going into this pretty much blind lol
It'll be a relatively short session (like 3 hours tops) and I honestly do not know what to expect so. Any advice is appreciated 🙏

Currently obsessing over Werewolf Darryl bc I'm. Deranged. But a little fic/scenario I had was based on that one post that talked about the myth of werewolves turning back to humans if you called their name or gave them their clothes.
Doing a little research and I can't find the clothes myth which I'm disappointed by ( but I'll keep looking!) BUT. I did find evidence of the Calling Name myth!! It's a German myth from The Werewolf, written by F. Asmus and O. Knoop, and it's basically that humans turn into werewolves using the wolf strap ( which I believe is a belt of sorts) but can revert back if someone calls their name.
OK RESEARCH ASIDE. LAME, BORING, DUMB! A fic based on the Dads/ mainly Henry getting Darryl to de-transform using this myth..... OUUGHHHHHHH....

I can't tell if this is Brennan's eccentric way of trying to cope with the grief of her wife leaving her or if she just moves on really fast.
I don't think I could draw dice very well, but fortunately, I have a huge dice collection and could grab the closest to use as props. no this wasn't just an excuse to show off some of my dice shhh
The cloud-watching/stargazing romantic interactions are always so cute. <3 <3

I have 3d printed some very special dice
It's a D1. It only has one possibility.
For when things are certain.
Although, thinking about it, usually 1 is the number people don't want to get, what they want is a 20.
So I also made this
(Also here are a bunch of earlier prototypes)

Thank you for running this complicated bracket!
I'm so sad though that I realized almost every character left in the AP bracket except one is from a DnD podcast/arc so there's almost no indie ttrpg rep in this round
You're welcome! And yeah, shout-out to Nicky Skyjacks for representing games that aren't D&D.
I was going to offer a teaser of an upcoming bracket because somebody submitted a character from We Will NOT Play D&D, but apparently it's named that because it's a scripted audio drama, and not because they'll play any game except for D&D. :(
Anyways shout out to Interstitial, The Unexplored Places, Campaign, NeoScum, TAZ Amnesty, Chapter and Multiverse, Pest Control, and of course Friends at the Table as well as any other podcasts in this bracket that played non-D&D games that I don't know about.
For those who might want to try listening to actual plays that aren't D&D but want something shorter/less of a commitment than the above, the GM for Campaign also has the podcast One Shot, and there's also Party of One Podcast.
For those wanting to try playing some indie TTRPGs, there's a bunch of cool ones for $10 in this itch.io bundle that's raising money for Medical Aid For Palestinians.
Feel free to reply or reblog with more actual play podcasts that use systems other than Dungeons and Dragons!
