Suede's Bloodsports shocked me. The band was a prominent example of the movement they started and we all know what happens with the type. They seem to coast on their old glories later on, reminding us of why we liked them in the past without achieving the latter. The Magic Whip by Blur, Suede's competition, could end up in this vein, but they somehow achieved what their rivals did, i.e. they did a highly successful rejuvenation. However, Blur didn't go the way of Suede by continuing with their discography, though the members of the group did show the effect of The Magic Whip on their other works. Moreover, Blur sort of have a bigger pressure on them. Whereas Suede retreated from Britpop eventually, Blur transformed into a juggernaut of that scene, so they have more at stake now.
