...Is Uma performing 'What's My Name' going to be an actual scene in the film then??? Because why else would Queen of Hearts, Cinderella and what looks to be Fairy Godmother be there??? Like, are we gonna just enter a music video scene during the movie suddenly??? Because why??? In Disney Descendants, the music scenes at least had songs relating to the scenes and the choreography matched the setting and situation they were in- aka the villain kids running around the Isle and causing chaos in 'Rotten To The Core' and the characters sword fighting in 'Night Falls'- whats the reason for Uma to suddenly enter a music video style scene and sing 'Whats My Name' beyond just having China carry this film on her back more then she already is???

Hi I'm about to go back to my roots and Descendants post.

Let's judge D4 outfits!

So first we have the look of the younger version of some of the Villains...they look too modern. I think they should've done a more 90/80's fashion bc if we do a wonky time like of descendants then all the Villains got in the Island of the Lost between the 90's and 2000's (I could be wrong tho) so these guys look too modern, specifically Maleficent. They don't look bad just...out of place.

I kinda like Maleficent's horns, wish her bangs were a little less short. Hades is serving, I've seen pictures of Hook and no. I hate it. Uma's aunt...no.

Okay...so, Chloe and Red. (Hate her name being Red. Like... c'mon)

Actually I don't hate these, I just wished the color palette was different. I hate how each descendants movie the looks became more and more monochromatic. These look like costumes. They look fake, and uncomfortable, no real person would wear these, they look impractical.

I would change those ugly ass pants though. I know what they're trying to do, but no. And the wigs, I was never a fan of the wigs in descendants.

Also I just wished they would stop using leather for everything. I like Chloe's jackets but not in that color nor fabric. Same with Red's.

Uma.

No. Just no. I actually never lived for Uma's outfits (except for the one she wears at the end of D3 that one is really cute)...but this is just ugly. Is....too much. There's so much going on here. I hate it. I hate her ugly ass skirt. I hate that unflattering jacket. I wish I could burn those ugly boots.

The Queen of Hearts.

She is kinda cunty. Dare I say she ate...but she left half of the plate because it's all red, I just wish there was just something more, some black or white accents. But honestly I kinda love this.

Cinderella.

This dress is so unflattering omg. Who did this to her? I hate her crown also and why is her hair blue? I mean I like Chloe's hair being like blue but as far as I know Brandy's Cinderella didn't have blue hair. I don't like it. Her make up does look a little gorgeous.

Just a big sigh for the prince, they didn't even try on him.

Time to rant about something else nobody at my blog probably cares about: that new upcoming Descendants movie.

Put simply, of the entire list of villains to pick from, if you were going to (seemingly) make the protagonist a straightforward 'punk' (forgive using that word for something so decidedly sanitized) who just likes mischief and spray paint, pick someone else.

The Queen of Hearts is unique in that she, like everyone else in Wonderland, is patently insane. Her daughter being a normal troublemaker is the most bland decision you could ever possibly make.

Like comparatively, a while back I designed more or less a spec script/sort of fanfiction of how I would handle a Descendants follow-up (I was bored) and came up with the children of Scar, the Queen of Hearts, Hans, Shan Yu, and the older son of the Evil Queen teaming up to try and overthrow Auradon's government for years of mistreating innocent children just for their parentage and basically turning into the very villains they sought to imprison. Jack, the QoH's son, had been sealed in Wonderland with his mom after he and Evan (Evil Queen's older, magically gifted son) attempted a rebellion via kidnapping an infant Ben. And subsequently, as you would expect, he went insane and after breaking out is far more sadistic and unpredictable because living in a world of insanity with your sanity intact is nigh impossible for an extended period.

But no, please do make Red the same as every other villain child you've created Disney. Suck all the uniqueness out of every villain and make all their kids exactly the same. That sends a great message.

Seriously, you can't tell me these two aren't just ripping off Lizzie and Darling at this point with how Rise of Red is looking.

Uma being the principal fits her character so well! She cares about the people of the Isle and fight for their freedom and acceptance, now she can do the same for everyone else beyond Auradon. She probably made friends with a few people while she was on the run. I love how Mal approached her with the job as well, it kinda shows how far they’ve come. And for those of you saying she’s a little young for it, please remember Ben became king at 16 and Mal got married before she was 18 so is this really out of pocket?
