Azure: And I'm a literal wolf in her home. It's much safer this way, Ray. Trust me.

Ray: I'm just saying I think this is a big mistake.

Azure: Let's just drop this for now. We should at least check out the house before we have to leave.

► NOT SO BERRY x BERRY PASTEL RAINBOWCY - AN UPDATED VERSION

as some of you might know, I've written updated versions of the not so berry challenge and the berry pastel rainbowcy before. however, I keep wanting to switch between the two challenges or abandoning my one save for the other. so, on a random Monday evening I figured, why not combine the two for the ultimate updated challenge experience? my lovely fellow simmers over at @berrygameplay convinced me to write stuff down and... the NSB x BPR updated rules was born!

credit goes to @lilsimsie and @alwaysimming for the original nsb rules and @berrysweetboutique for the original berry pastel rainbowcy rules!

►WHAT ABOUT THE RULES

as with my two other updated challenges, i've written the rules in a google doc (that you cannot edit! stop asking for permission to edit the file!). if you want to save the rules for yourself, go to file > create a copy and you're able to save the rules wherever you want and edit them. this will not change the original document.

there are disclaimers, a list of packs you need for this challenge (most packs are optional) and an index to move through generations quickly. each gen has their own introductory story (you don't have to adhere to these stories!), required traits - aspirations - careers, the generational rule (bpr), reward traits to buy, and the list of objectives catered to that generation. feel free to edit these objectives to your hearts desire! this challenge is supposed to be fun :)

generation one: white

coming from a long line of privileged sims, you’re ready to break away from your family and pursue your own dreams. you’ve only really felt close to your grandparent and never told anyone you were the sole heir to their old, rundown farmhouse. starting off with nothing, you pick up the hobby you were never allowed to put into practice: painting. you find it difficult to let other sims in and may come across as rude sometimes. you just need that one special sim to make you feel like it’s all worth it. slowly but surely, your own family starts to grow, but not without its ups and downs…

traits: creative, mean, [open slot]

aspiration: painter extraordinaire OR chief of mischief

career: none (sell paintings, produce, and harvestables)

spouses career: [open slot]

rules

GENERATIONAL RULE: paint a portrait of your heir REWARD TRAITS TO BUY: mentor, speed reader, super green thumb

move into a lot with the ‘simple living’ lot challenge (size is up to you)

max painting skill

max gardening skill

max mischief skill

max logic skill

have multiple different love interests, but do not settle before having a child

date with a purple, pink, AND/OR red sim

have only 1 child with purple, pink, or red sim and 1 alien child

become enemies with the spouse you decide not to go long-term with

optional: make at least 2 enemies

marry a purple, pink OR red sim

sell at least 5 masterpieces

have at least 2 different animals on your farm

choose from the following: horse, goat, lamb, cow, llama, bunny, chicken, cat, dog, rodent

if you choose a horse, max the horse skills: temperament, jumping, agility, endurance

become good friends with all of your children and animals

adult or elder: max the knitting and/or cross-stitch skill

adult or elder: become good friends with at least 1 grandchild

Little Venus aged up ♥

And yes, she is supposed to be like OG Venus, so she is a genetic mix of Mercury, Carnation, and Melrose. If she was berry she would have pink skin, white hair, and purple eyes.

And like I did in TS4, I made her in CAS, hence the lack of newborn pictures. They were very obviously not the same sim... maybe a family in the future will adopt that newborn and we will see him again (yes it was also a baby boy, five boys). But for now, yay Venus!

I'm starting a new gameplay because i have 3 infants in my ditft gameplay and I cannot mentally do it rn :)

She is my founder for the updated Berry Pastel Rainbowcy gameplay by @sweetlysimss (original challenge made by @berrysweetboutique) 💜 I usually never use "berry" colors in my game, usually I stick to realistic colors, so I tried going a little out of my comfort zone and it was hard !! but I had fun making her and I'm excited to keep going 😌

meet marzipan eggshell! when I got back into berry sims a few years ago after taking a break from everything, she was the first sim I made. I played her save for a bit, but quickly moved on to another challenge once I decided to rejoin the community, too. but she's in her reboot era, now! the Eggshells Berry Pastel Rainbowcy is incoming!!

I'll be using these rules by @sweetlysimss! There will be a mix of gameplay and story, with it being story heavy in the beginning. There'll be mentions of grief and stuff in a bit. I'll tag it greif tw!

Azure: She'd be safer in a place with supernatural beings going after her constantly. It's only a matter of time before I go into another frenzy or Rosy gets too hungry. We are a threat to her.

Ray: I trust you both to be able to hold yourselves back.

Azure's eyes eyes started to well up: Can't you see? I don't even trust myself. I've already hurt her once. I don't want to do it again. Rosy just got her fangs. She doesn't know how to control her hunger yet. We're monsters, Ray. 

Ray: I am not a monster!

Azure: Not all of us are lucky enough to be harmless spellcasters. Some of us could kill a berry in the blink of an eye. I don't want to hurt anyone. She's not strong enough to protect herself.

Azure: We can't keep her trapped in Garnetbrook forever, Ray. She's not like us. She can live here safely.

Ray: Not if the scientists find her.

Azure: No one has heard from them in nine years. They don't even know what Luna looks like now. Besides, they'd be more likely to look for us first.

Child sim: Why did we have to leave home? Was the family really that bad?

Blue sim: That's not what a home looks like, Luna. A real family would never treat us like that.

Yellow sim: We aren't even family to them. We were just lab experiments for them. 

Blue sim: Failed lab experiments.

Luna: And I'm their biggest failure.

Yellow sim: You're not a failure, Luna. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You're the only normal one in this group. Out of all of us, you are the one that's going to be able to live a normal life.

The toddler starts to cry 

Yellow sim: We should hurry before Rosie draws more attention to us.

Rosie: Can you blame me? You're a bit of a bummer to live with. Oh, your blood stinks like fish as well.

Luna: You can never be nice to me for long can you?

Rosie: Obviously not. Though, Berries and Vampberries aren't supposed to get along.

Luna: Even when they're family?

Rosie: Ha! You've never thought of me as family, so don't start now.

Luna: It's true, none of us are actually family. We're just forgotten lab rats.

Rosie: I'm gonna go explore if you're about to have a pity party.

Luna: Have fun, Little Fang.

Luna: EW, I told you to stop calling me that. I'm gonna throw up.
