I'm up thinking about daydreaming so yall get some thoughts.

Maybe I just learned it too late, but I never vibed with the term "paracosm". Like I have multiple longer daydreams that switch POVs even, but growing up I always called them stories or storylines, which fits better in my brain. They feel less like worlds to me and more like fiction, like if I was playing a tv show in my head.

Plus, the longer storylines are definitely exceptions. Most of the time I just throw together familiar characters in a similar setting (shoutout to the four house layouts I've almost always used & Generic American Highschool™️) that vary only slightly for whatever new scenario my brain cooked up. But theyve always felt just like little stories, never a changing world even when I did go back and start things over from the top.

The weight that has been lifted off my shoulders today oh my god

Went to the orthopedist for a follow up appointment earlier today or I guess yesterday now, had a nurse practitioner instead of the doctor that I had seen before, and I guess because I mentioned the pain I get that seems to be more like inflammation and how that’s the primary point of pain I have after physical therapy treatment, he strongly suggested we see a rheumatologist because he thinks I have all the signs of an autoimmune disorder

Which isn’t the best news, but I have been thinking this for AGES and was scared to bring it up to my mother, though she told me after that she had been thinking it too given family history and symptoms, and finally being in the next step of the process to figuring out why exactly I feel so awful all the time just makes me happy

Like I’ve been considering that possibility for a long long time, but hearing a medical professional actually say “Yeah, you have a lot of signs that indicate some kind of autoimmune disorder, here’s where you can go to figure out more” just feels way more validating than it probably should :’D

Being closer to a potential explanation just feels nice, I hope we get this sorted and can figure out whats going on

Satan & Violins

I share a lot of similarities with Satan, even when before they canonized something about him; one of them being violinist!Satan😭 In spite of me having a mini identity crisis following the drop of his canon violinist card, i think it makes sense! heres why.

The violin and its family, unlike other string instruments (ex. the guitar), doesnt have these little things (that i forgor the name of because im a bad musician) that separates every note. those little separating thingies are the reason why people who dont know shit about playing a key on guitar but memorize musical scales (me) is at least able to strum a simple one octave melody.

Obviously, the two come in with their one difficulty (i prefer the violin myself), but it's a little bit harder to pull that trick with the violin. As you can see, theres not exactly something to tell you where each note begins or where they end. Nothing to determine where is where. You simply have to memorize the placement and the distance between each note. You basically play the violin with Your Gut (1). We'll keep this in mind for now.

Moving on, let's talk about body posture.

Beginner violinist usually directlty face towards the strings when playing, as they aren't used to letting their 'gut' lead the show. However, more experienced players would find no need to do so. A quick glance at Satan's art could tell us he was at least above beginner level to be brave enough to face (us) instead.

When you're not facing your violin, you would usually lean your head towards it, resulting in your ear becoming the closest thing to it- here's a real life example:

Now, if there was anything my teacher warned me before starting violin, is that even without having your ear be the closest thing to it, the strings are already LOUD😭 so its even louder when you alr have ur ear on it. The violin is considered one of the most emotional instruments ever, their lower sound resemble what we use to express sadness in speech. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, you as a player are forced to feel what you're playing. Thus is also why you play the violin with Your Heart (2).

So, how does this tie into Satan? It's no secret that our handsome man is incredibly romantic, and to me if he ever wants to express something to us and making sure the message is clearly received, the equally emotional violin is his best bet! The violin allows Satan to play heartwrenching notes that would quickly be felt by the listener.

Lets get technical.

There's still another side of the violin, as there is another side to Satan. The way you stroke your bow matters, the way you angle it so you'll only hit the notes you want. (thankfully if you mess up, the violin is made to still sound graceful😂). Satan too, is quite the detail oriented person. He is tactical, analytical, observant, a man obsessed with striving to be the perfect one, etc etc. The need of preciseness of the violin is definitely right up his alley. The way you need everything to be correct to be rewarded for a beautiful sound. Idk exactly where I'm going with this but it's basically intelligence meets emotion kinda thing, do you see it too?!?!

In conclusion, the violin is a wonderful instrument that both requires great attention to detail yet is also incredibly emotional and heartfelt, an instrument that requires your gut and heart guide your play without abandoning technique. Satan, the incredibly smart yet fluffy softie, is quite literally made for this and I LOVE HIM for that RAAAAAAHHHH. im normal.

So first of all, her design

^well that's a solid design right there imo

Her shirt with the cute little changing icons before and her doggy ears and skirt and the little shiny bright Wizard of Oz Dorothy shoes.. her design is quite simple but it's great!

So that's it for the design now let's go on with the character per se

So! You know that she woke up on prospit when she was very young, right, so she was used to seeing the future in her dreams, and Dave and Rose were convinced that she was a seer or a witch of some sort, that she could see the future. Turns out she WAS a witch, but that's a different topic

But later, when her dream self died, she couldn't see the future in the clouds so she didn't know what she had to do to avoid a doomed timeline, so she just did whatever felt right, which was for example prototyping her dead dreamself with becsprite, which didn't turn out great at first but later gave her doggy ears and first guardian powers which if I recall correctly were important later!

Shes also SO COOL like, look at this and tell me she's not cool. I dare you

The thing she had to do to enter Sburb was also wild! They covered her eyes and gave her a piñata, so she made what was logical, which is hitting the piñata. But then it EXPLODED and threw her off the window, so she decided to shoot as a last resort. Luckily the bullet would've hit the piñata wherever she shot, because Bec was there to redirect it and she didn't get hurt because bec cushioned the fall by teleporting her to the bed iirc

It's also really sweet how there's isn't a single character who dislikes her

Like, John and Jade are brother and sister, but are also great friends. She didnt talk to rose much, which is a ROBBERY, but you can clearly see theyre good friends and care about each other so much augh <3 and then theres dave who I like to think is her moirail, like a childhood crush to moirail or something, thats how I see it at least.

Then for the trolls.. Aradia and she get along pretty well! To the point that Aradias most iconic line was kind of reused later by jade which is really cute :] there's also Nepeta, who said Jade was her favorite human, and Kanaya who helped Jade with the frog breeding! She didn't really talk to every single troll, no one did, but if she did I think she would get along with everyone, she's just so lovable <3

And this doesn't even START to cover all the good things she has! There nothing in her not to love <3

Shanks has built up a large strong crew of absolutely no Devil Fruit users.

I think when Reighley says something along the lines of "Maybe you will reach a different conclusion" to Robin when talking about the Void Century. I think the actual situation of the Ancient Kingdom and the 20 Kingdoms must be alot more Grey than just "20 Kingdoms bad" Maybe the ancient Kingdom is the Originator of the Mother Flame.

Im not sure, Im just rambling out some thoughts here really, Regardless I think that such a Major piece of the Puzzle has been placed and we can start to make some more serious predictions.

heres the thing abt helle. they will likely never turn into an exact replica of their abuser bc of how much theyve made it their mission not to be like her. they dont yell, they dont really lash out, even if they get super upset their anger is a cold, controlled type of anger as opposed to lady marie's borderline tantrums. they dont want to use fear to control beck, and if i can finally get myself together enough to write, ppl will probably see theyre not doing a half bad job at it. beck is so easy to control and manipulate, and helle is charming and charismatic.

all that being said, helle enjoys inflicting a bit of mental/physical pain here and there. theyre kind of a sadist at heart. now, that wouldnt automatically make them a bad person- plenty of good sadists out there having fun w their willing masochists. the issue is of course that beck wasnt willing at all AJSJJDDK but!!!!! helle will cling onto the notion of sadist ≠ bad person in their head. in fact theyre a firm believer that if they manage to condition beck into kinda liking it, then theres no issue at all!

punishments r of course a whole other thing. helle considers those completely separate from just pure fun. they enjoy those way less as well bc the thing is..... beck truly and earnestly misbehaving either means he's put himself at risk or his conditioning isnt going as well as it should. both of which helle hates the thought of lol

but like what im trying to say is that when helle says smth like "i enjoy hurting him" thats a Completely neutral statement to them. theyre not saying it to be mean and horrible. they do enjoy it! and they consider it separate from whatever they do when they want to be mean and horrible!

SO ANYWAY. CONCLUSION. beck's not too subtle submissive streak makes helle feel way too validated and justified in slowly coercing him into getting on board with.... a lot of stuff. and beck does get on board. its always gonna be dubcon at best but he doesnt hate it. which makes helle's style of abuse and torment fundamentally different from what lady marie did. which is exactly what they want!!!!!! theyre very happy w their semi-willing boytoy

Ok ok hang on cause ive been thinking about something in tristamp and i havent seen anyone else talk about it so i wanna ramble about my source of brainrot-

Tristamp rant w/ spoilers under the cut w/ some minor trimax/98 tidbits

And i cant believe no ones talked about it yet? Or maybe i just havent seen it, but in trigun stampede when Vash is fighting Livio on the sandsteamer and Livio kicks Vash away before Wolfwood gets to him and ya know how vash doesnt immediately get back up?

Well I thought that was kinda weird, considering youve got a guy whos clearly not there mentally with two automatic guns willing to shoot anyone who gets close to him, theres no way vash wouldnt get right back up to continue trying to stop him, but maybe hes trying to give wolfwood his chance, right? But then why does he stay down when Livio aims the gun at himself? For someone who can react fast enough to shoot a bullet out of the air with perfect aim, and wants to save everyone, why didnt he get up to stop him?

So in each rewatch of the show, i would keep looking, and i realized. Its another one of those small details that isnt ever acknowledged or talked about, but if you watch, Livio kicks Vash in the left side of his chest, and when Vash sits back up, he has his hand up over that side of his chest

We still havent clearly seen whats going on on the left side of Vash's chest in tristamp, but since theres clearly at least a scar there, and in trimax/98 he has a metal grate, its easy to come to the conclusion that whatever happened to the left side of his chest was(is) bad, if livio kicking him kept vash down long enough to be unable to save him from killing himself

I know its one of those things you can easily look over, as that would seem like a normal human reaction to having your chest kicked hard enough to send you flying back several feet, but taking into account that Vash is a plant with supernatural healing, and in episode 10 he just basically walks off a gunshot to the gut AND in ep 12 when hes shot down with MULTIPLE bullet wounds he still gets back up fairly quickly (considering a human would most likely be down and out for the count with 4(?) bullets in em) so im wondering if maybe in tristamp theyre even paying attention to the old injuries vash got that were bad enough to Scar a Plant that can Heal himself, and/or maybe how the metal implants in his body could affect him??

Cause i did also notice that tristamp vash had less visible physical scarring, but more metal implants, and im thinkin maybe theyre leanin into the "healing powers" plants have, meaning that maybe plants dont scar as easily as humans, like when wolfwood drinks his vials and ends up 100% fine after being turned into swiss cheese with no scarring (a separate post about conrad being a plant scientist) which ALSO means that any scars Plants DO get, means that it was REALLY. REALLY BAD. Also a separate post about trimax vash possibly going through a litteral blender to end up with those scars as a plant.

nods. yeah. im just gonna ramble for a minute so i apologize if this post is a hot mess. i think part of the reason it's hard to find a non-terfy community of detrans ppl is bc like. how do you even define detransition..? i think a large number of people whose experiences that one might label as detransition would still identify as trans or nonbinary or both in some way. gender is confusing and weird and made up and wonky and every gender nonconforming person has to come to their own conclusions about how they identify and of course those identities can change over time and might be ever-changing throughout a lifetime. there are parts of my experience, for instance, could be labeled as detransition. i've gone off T for months at a time. i used to identify as a binary trans man, and now i dont. i dont have regrets about my medical transition, but i think that having transition regrets is different than being detrans too.

i think a lot about the detrans to terf pipeline that you're talking about. because yeah, i do think there are certainly people who do the black and white version of that. they identify as a binary trans person, medically transition, and then realize it's not right for them, go back to identifying as their AGAB. and then they project their transition regret onto like. every trans person and decide no one should have autonomy over their body because they made a medical decision they regret. and they become terfs. like im SURE that happens.

but i think probably more common is. a person comes out as trans. begins their medical transition. and it's fucking hard. and they don't have the support network they need. and they feel alone. perhaps they lose family or friends because theyre trans. and they experience transition regret. maybe because hrt genuinely wasn't right for them, or maybe because they lose the support of their family, friends, or community because of their transition. they decide to detransition. and somewhere along the way they find a community that will support their detransition and also tells them that they were in some ways coerced into making the decision to transition in the first place. and that's how they become terfs.

to be clear, im not assigning either of these experiences to anyone specifically, and im not even saying its super common, but anecdotally it is a story that is not unknown to me. and i do know that thee most common reasons people detransition is bc of various types of pressure from their family/friends/community, and one of the least common reasons is that they found that gender transition wasnt right for them (this isnt like. an essay lmao. but if u need a source for this, here. page 115).

all this to say. i think there absolutely should be more space in trans community to discuss transition regret and detransition without judgement. like whether or not detransitioners still identify as trans or plan to retransition in the future, they still have experiences with gender that definitely at the very least qualify them as gender-diverse. you're not detransitioning and then going back to your agab and rejoining cis binary society flawlessly and never questioning your gender again. like it just doesnt really work like that. i think detransitioners who no longer identify as trans are still our siblings and should be supported. of course. of COURSE. (obviously detrans ppl who become terfs/anti-trans are excluded from that. it's not trans ppls job to coddle terfs). but i also think like! that should be an intracommunity discussion. not a debate but a supportive space. and detrans experiences should not be used to argue against trans liberation. obviously. and i have a lot to say about the way detrans experiences, esp of detrans women, are presented as horror stories laced with transphobia and essentialism (read: racism). but thats. another post for another day.

basically yeah. what you said. convos about gender/liberation should be across lines of identity. bc it's really not an issue really of identity but of how we are gendered by the people around us. bigger work than just trans liberation. you dont get trans liberation without dismantling patriarchy without dismantling white supremacy without dismantling um. capitalism. and so unity. intersectionality. etc. yeah. idk. rough day.

I can definitely see where one may draw such a conclusion, I just personally feel otherwise, I feel like Stockholm is itself morally wrong. I feel the same way about it that I feel about “lolicon” art, and asking me to not mark the fic as a slight against Orchard feels odd to me, because I would be uncomfortable with Butch Hartman writing material like that. I would want to know that he wrote this, feels no remorse for writing it, intends to make media for children while having written that.

People draw their personal lines in the sand in different places, particularly when it comes to fictional depictions of That Shit. Someone’s Lolita (a harsh and uncomfortable work thats clearly not glorifying the act once you sit down and engage with it fairly) is going to be another’s [idk insert literal fucking CP here], and the wide diversity of art makes it nigh-impossible to be able to draw a line between Acceptable and Unacceptable.

And for what it’s worth, the above ^^^ is why Im frustrated with the binary framing of the pro-ship and anti-ship discourse. It just doesn’t work, even the most ardently pro-ship person is going to draw their line somewhere, and even the most ardently anti-ship is going to look at someone else’s judgement and go “but theres nothing wrong with this”. And ultimately, the two camps of pro and anti… don’t actually exist. Ask me honestly which camp I fall in and I genuinely wouldn’t be able to tell you, and if you interrogate your personal moral values and feelings about various dubious media honestly, you’ll realize that you can’t, either.

Sorry. This is a ramble. I’ll summarize:

- I think it’s important to know that Orchard wrote Stockholm, and to allow people to judge her for writing that, because many believe that works like these are morally wrong, period end of, and it’s not transmisogyny for one to judge this fic the same way they judge similar works from cishet writers.

- despite having that opinion, I do agree that the real grooming is much worse than the fic, and agree that making this distinction clear is important.

- I also think its dangerous to discuss the morality of fictional media from an all-or nothing binary framing, because the truth is we do not genuinely hold such extreme positions in real life, we all have a limit somewhere on the spectrum in either direction, which is my main frustration with pro-ship and anti-ship discourse, because you can never fully belong to either camp. Your position on the issue will be a mix of both. Pro some ships, anti other ships.

this is a ramble about nothing but im thinking lots about how in 2023 my first finished piece was this fun thing of Wolf in a shiny jacket but how the original concept was to show off some of their metal skeleton or synthetic flesh and then i ended up chickening out in the final version

i think part of it was because it was too much of a challenge and i was convinced noone would care about the piece anyway so why try harder? and like i was right! it got like zero social media numbers! which is like a really shitty impulse to gratify with like "i was right, effort isnt worth it if its not gonna perform well anyway" and god, how damaging and awful mindset that is to have about your own art. i was actually still happy with the piece on its own, enough to print it and hang it over my desk and over the year i learned to actually enjoy challenging myself just for the challenge itself, to go out of my comfort zone just to say that i could and i tried and i put in the effort for myself.

and now in 2024 im just here like. yeah the first piece i made i spent hours detailing their synthetic muscles in different parts of their body because its necessary for what im trying to communicate and i wanted to try harder even if it took longer to finish. and im so glad i did :D i really hope to keep that spirit for as long as i can

listen im not trying to be a hater i just think tf prime represents something of the moment in time it was made and i dislike it a lot. it clearly is trying to be like the bad movies, stylistically and character wise. it loses its own identity in trying to make a cartoon out of that concept, because it cant.

its full of so many words that it tries to give meaning to, all being names or objects from previous shows, even using song lyrics from the 86 movie, while its central conflict becomes about politics it barely understands. trying to make me care if the decepticons or autobots press the magic button that will restore their home planet because whoever does so will have a POLITICAL edge when the other cybertronians return home (they never do)

it barely grasps what the source of the war was. what starts as revolution against an oppressing class became a war between two guys with differing beliefs on how to achieve justice. but when the difference in their politics is literally 'i will get justice even if it resorts to violence' vs 'i dont believe in violence' and then you HAVE A WAR SO BAD IT CAUSES YOUR PLANET TO DIE you need to grapple with the consequences of that. the characters should bring that up. the vibes between optimus and megatron should be more familiar than they are. like a magneto and professor x thing, a former brotherhood turned sour, but knowing each other better than anyone despite their opposing views.

(rambled on for a while so cut)

in other shows we're left wondering what the history is, seeing these two titans who have been fighting for millions of years, we rarely see any specifics and so we're left to make our own conclusion based on the relationship we see. here its more about making the lore heavy than it is about how the characters back story relate to how they act.

to get into how the characters as a whole interact it seems less interested in making characters seem like real people than the g1 cartoon, which by all accounts was just a silly toy commercial. there is no sense of brotherhood among the autobots and no real love for earths living creatures outside of these 3 children (and the us government). none of the autobots feel like characters, they have no real personality or individual quirks (besides ratchet) and optimus most of all feels like he is just here to stand in the corner of a scene and give a good soundbite line. something vague that somewhat relates to whats being said, it feels like 'well we have peter cullen lets let him say something cool'. style over substance.

meanwhile the decepticons despite being so bloodthirsty and brutal, constantly forget and forgive each other for literally attempting to kill each other every episode. in one episode megatron tells starscream if he doesnt find him worthy of rejoining the decepticons that he will kill him. then we see him watch all of starscreams betrayals from over the course of the entire show, we see no reason he should ever forgive starscream and then at the end he simply.... doesnt kill him. he forgives him and keeps him around. this is supposed to be the scary bloodthirsty megatron who was a gladiator and has no problem with violence, yet he lets the character who stole victory after victory from him live. it makes no sense in this 'the more serious show'. but then it works out cuz starscream just stops being who he was and then just genuinely follows megatron. so. idk i guess the goal was scare him. thats the end of that whole plotline then.

starscream specifically seems too goofy here because he constantly fails at everything. theres a part of how you make this character work thats fully missing here, and thats his sense of self preservation. he doesnt have one. he makes decisions that make no sense, he betrays everyone and walks into traps set by them despite knowing they want him dead just to make him as pathetic as possible. when he loses his t cog its especially apparent because he just. went to the guys that wanted a t cog after destroying bumblebees and hes like "whoopsie oh well" and then is surprised they turn on him and take his. comparing this to the g1 version and saying 'this one makes more sense' kills me. it doesnt. g1 knows when to fold. thats why it feels like knockout feels more like starscream to me, hes the only one calculating and staying quiet until he sees the power shift.

the show is frustrating to watch because it just seems like characters waiting around doing nothing but reacting to things, but in the meantime theyre not really being characters at all, theyre not being enjoyable or lovable to watch outside of their names reminding you 'they are iconic IP, please buy these toys.'

and they dont look very good either, clearly trying to mesh together the overly complicated ugly mess that is the b*yverse with cartoon proportions. specifically anyone designed in that first 5 episode. the designs are all top heavy, their faces so flat mouths so plain, but everyone has these very detailed eyebrows to emote with. in arcees case she even gets detailed eyelashes.

and dont get me started on the 'arcee cant be pink cuz thats a girl colour and shes a girl but shes not a GIRL' problem. you put pink on her as her secondary colour. you put pink IN HER EYES. she has a skirt. she shows off an insane amount of robot midriff (somehow, cuz they painted her like that) her flat face for some reason has lips (which dont even look good, like warped metal around her mouth). so are you trying to design a girl character or not? be fucking honest about it. youre both embarrassed of pink arcee while also doing the same thing, making her small making her clearly the feminine one. and narratively ohhhh dont get me started (also this show decided to keep saying two wheeler in a way that meant girl and thats......ugh)

basically i just think when you try so hard to be so serious you end up being sillier than things that know theyre silly. if youre embarrassed of the media that came before you why even make it?

oh right. brand synergy. to advertise your new streaming network. to show off what cartoons can REALLY be like now. SUPER SERIOUS. SUPER CINEMATIC.

but i think it just didnt say anything about anything. it didnt represent anything. didnt make me care about anyone or any plight. any stakes it tried to add didnt matter. didnt do anything new, didnt really understand anything that came before. threw out ideas stolen from better shows. threw a new paintjob on hotrod, called him smokescreen, but then didnt have the balls to kill off optimus to make that character matter. kinda represents a lot of what i mean just in that regard alone.

i just think ive seen a lot of these shows now and this one has made me the most mad, cuz it is so 2010, its so cynical and mean spirited, its so lazy and cash grabby, its full of in name only references to make you point at the screen and go I KNOW THAT THING! without knowing why you ever cared about that thing.

and while im not trying to say its the worst one objectively (i dont rank shit like that) i am saying at least when it comes to something the masses would consider a 'worse show' like energon or bm or rid, at least all of those have their own identity and theyre not pretending to be something theyre not. theyre not trying to be cleverer than they are.

basically the people who wrote this are the people that wrote the first transformers movie, and that is where this plague of creating soulless reboot/remake/sequels to your favorite nostalgic media that hollywood has been stuck in ever since started, and you can TELL.
