Do you mind if I ask something as a new fan of MXTX works? So if Lan Ying is Jun Wu in disguise does it mean from the start of the story, it's Jun Wu all along? Also, if He Xuan already fulfill his retribution to Shi Wu Du, how come he is still on earth and not moving on?

Also, is it just fanon or canon that Shang Qinghua already "with" Mobei Jun since he was a teenager and Shen Yuan never realized that Luo Binghe loved him all this time?

And is it true that Wei Wuxian never thought of Nie Huaisang as the "masterplanner" all this time and is Jin Ling reconcile with Wei Wuxian at the end?

1) Lang Ying was not Jun Wu the whole time. The ghost boy that we are first introduced to is Lang Ying, who then later gets devoured by White No-Face:

If “Lang Ying” had never existed to begin with and was only White No-Face in his weakened form, everything would be easy to explain. But when Xie Lian remembered the girl Xiao-Ying who had died on Mount Yujun, he wished that explanation made less sense than it did. 2) Perhaps he does not feel like his obsession has been resolved. After all, Shi Qingxuan could be considered a loose end, though He Xuan seems to have left him alone since the Blackwater arc. Nothing says that the obsession keeping him tied to the mortal world would find resolution with Shi Wudu's death.

SVSSS Questions:

1) It's fanon that Shang Qinghua and Mobei-Jun were together for that long. They only officially "get together" (if it can be read as that) in the post-canon extra "Airplane's Fortuitous Encounter." Their business relationship (if one can call it that) is what began when Shang Qinghua was a teen.

2) I'm not sure I get what the second part means by "all this time." Shen Qingqiu realized Luo Binghe liked him romantically the moment Luo Binghe kissed him in the shared dream before the battle over Shen Qingqiu's corpse. After deliberating on it a bit more in the shared dream after the battle, he accepts that there were always signs that Luo Binghe liked him but he chose to not understand them in order to stick to the genre's formula and tropes. This is all in Chapts. 10-11 of vol. 2 of the official translation.

MDZS Questions:

1) It's hinted at throughout the text that Wei Wuxian has his suspicions about Nie Huaisang's actions and motivations, particularly when he questions how Nie Huaisang conveniently shows up during certain key events and is connected to all the key players, but we as the audience are never explicitly told when Wei Wuxian zeroed in on him as the mastermind behind the plot. We only get the confrontation at the end of the main story that Wei Wuxian has been connecting these dots for a minute.

2) Yes, Jin Ling reconciled with Wei Wuxian by the end of the story. He already wanted to reconcile by the end of the second siege of the Burial Mounds, but circumstances prevented him. By the extras, they are regularly meeting up for nighthunts, and Jin Ling goes to Wei Wuxian for help.

Regarding the previous post, I think the way I approach trying to evaluate a piece of art is asking "Do I think the positive things I get out of it outweigh the parts of it that I don't like?" And when I call something a "guilty pleasure" song/show/book/piece of media/etc. it's really more in the sense of, "Given who I am as a person, the flaws I've found in this should be complete dealbreakers for me, but somehow they aren't, and it makes me feel like I'm having an identity crisis."

#like. I think something like...idk shiki or cxgf excels on multiple levels. I understand why I like them. given the things I look for in art #it makes sense that these shows would speak to me because they make the effort to showcase those things I look for. because the people #in charge of those works clearly valued the same kinds of things and cared about seriously exploring them. #but with something like. uh. ctrlz. that is NOT the case and I frequently found myself going 'why would anyone make this writing #decision?' but I still sat through all 3 seasons of it! i personally love pokefics, and i want you all to know that this blog isn't mean spirited! these fics were made with love and passion and we respect that with mod seal. it's good to just have fun and create, and with this blog our goal is just to look back at these years where we were all teenagers and made up silly stories and laugh together about it!

i know that we've inspired a few people to create their own pokefic and this couldn't make us happier, because yes pokefics are silly, some people would even say cringe, but i don't believe in cringe and i think it's good to just. do whatever we want if it makes us happy. and doesnt harm anyone, of course. if only we could bring this back

Left to his own devices he's naturally inclined to be crepuscular; in his home village it was normal for most people to sleep both in the middle of the night and the middle of the day (though a little longer at night), and for the day to start well before dawn and end well after dark. Since he's kind of a loner and drifter at the moment he can usually still get away with this kind of sleeping schedule even after having left home; people get the impression that he never sleeps, or must sleep really poorly, because he appears to be out wandering around at all hours, but really he's just splitting up his sleep. After spending so much time in human/ mixed cities he has gotten better at being able to adjust to only sleeping at night when needs be, but he gets noticeably sleepy around lunchtime if he's not getting naps in.

He's a pretty light sleeper, partly because his hearing is so sensitive; he likes to be cozy, and preferably somewhere very quiet and dark, but he can fall asleep fairly easily almost anywhere. I feel like I have a lot of OCs who routinely stay up way too late/ refuse to sleep or, like, sleepwalk, or are otherwise Bad At Sleep, but actually his sleep habits are generally pretty good, unusual circadian rhythm notwithstanding, lol.

Coping mechanisms! Small scale/ acute: he fidgets a lot, chews on things. He's mostly gotten himself out of the habit of biting his nails by redirecting to other stuff (he goes through pencils a lot faster than he actually wears them out with use). A big go-to is seeking space to be alone, particularly somewhere high up; as a kid he used to climb trees a lot, and now in aboveground cities he spends a lot of time sitting on roofs.

For bigger/ more ongoing things... it depends. On the one hand, it can feel comforting to surround himself with people by spending time in places that feel crowded without being intimate, like markets or popular taverns, but it stresses him out if people can tell he's Going Through Something, so he ends up isolating a lot instead, or just hanging out with animals and avoiding people (pigeons aren't usually good enough at humanoid body language to pick up on and ask about anything short of an actual breakdown, for one thing, but on the other hand breaking down fully in front of animals still feels significantly less stressful than in front of other people, somehow). He hates talking about himself, and he really hates trying to explain his feelings, especially when he's already having a bad time, so he doesn't really get a lot of support even when he really needs it. He mostly doesn't Journal His Feelings with his sketch/ travel journal, but I think he's more inclined to do so at least a little bit when he's trying to cope with something just because he's got no other good outlet, much less someone he can actually talk to.

In terms of coping beyond the immediate 'managing the feelings' sense, he always wants to understand things as much as possible, so a big part of coping with anything is to try to learn everything about it he can. Like, not that this has happened to him but he's very much primed to be the guy whose loved one disappears/ is killed under suspicious circumstances which sets off a chain of events leading to his single-handedly unraveling some deep convoluted conspiracy-- you know? Something extremely upsetting and Deeply Weird happened to him before the campaign started, and now he's obsessed with making sense of it. Honestly, now that I'm writing this all out, I imagine his interest in studying people and body language and social nuances and motivations came at least partly from a way to cope with not understanding those things intuitively like other people seem to, and being really bad at performing social skills correctly himself 🤔

since its  heavily implied if not just already true that the red soul (the analogy/representation for the player) in deltarune is the same one from undertale  and since presumably deltarune’s still going to be more of a “game mechanics just kind of exist in sort of a magic way in universe” kind of meta like undertale is rather than a “ohhh creepypasta the video game is alive” thing    that would basically make it so that “Varyingly amoral floating heart thing that can hop dimensions and keeps possessing children to do rpg battles” is just sort of like, a "character” that exists in these games. Everything this man says about his future confuses me more but I’m genuinely so unsure how to read that rb comment. Because there is clearly a fondness of the team and a belief that he can do well in those cars. already thinking "and by 'religious' really i mean 'christian'" re: how the term "religion" is not really useful when it's largely like, from a christian perspective, what is considered "equivalent" of christianity, see: perhaps a "rival"/obstacle to some person or group being considered christian....and even if not thinking about converting anyone, resulting in some at best misinterpretation / misrepresentation based on framing it through/as [element of christianity] and limiting of any more accurate language

like how tumblr recommends me a post about someone thinking about "religion" in general and concluding that it's Weird and perhaps Wrong for anyone who is a "true believer" in their religion(tm) to Not be proselytizing / trying to Convert everyone. like yeah why isn't everyone being an evangelical christian, they ought to be, benevolently informing all those around them that they're going to hell, otherwise. don't see any problem with this conclusion, or that someone's getting antisemitic in the notes already in agreement, or that That's Not How This Works and you don't just know how All "Religion" works based on considering it to be an alternate version of christianity (which in itself doesn't All work like that either)
