The most incredulous smile in the world. Right there. I am wrapped up in this moment entirely. It's all about the different ways of showing love and the different ways that love matters to people.

This entire scene is just so perfectly emblematic of their relationship and how it is slowly coming together.

Because it's about how Asuka got what he thought he wanted, he asked to sleep with Shu and Shu accepted without a second thought but also without any love, without any affection. This was just a reward, nothing else, just something to be given because Asuka did a good job.

It is a meaningless reward. It is a chance to sleep together but Shu's praise is already gone. He was so sweet, so happy, and none of it shows through when he agrees to sleep with him. It is empty.

It's the way Asuka looks at him. Shu offers him half the bed, rolls the blanket down, closes his eyes. He will accept whatever Asuka wants because this is the reward he asked for and he can give it to him.

His eyes are closed. H's not even looking at Asuka. It's obvious he knows what will happen and doesn't actually care either way.

Not stop but wait. Shu is fully prepared and willing to sleep with Asuka. But first he wants to give him a gift. And that gift changes everything.

And then Shu pulls out the little toy. The tiny cat keychain that reminded him of Asuka. And Asuka is lost. He is absolutely lost. He is gone. This is everything he wants and more. This is a sign of Shu's love. This is something that Shu got for him just because he thought of him.

That's why it matters. That's why it's so important. That's why it matters so much. That's why Asuka instantly just rolls away and makes his own space.

Literally, all it takes for Asuka to suddenly be the happiest boy in the world is the tiniest showing of love. It's about how much Asuka loves being loved and how much what he wants is that love, it's that relationship, it's that love that he wants and he will cling to every bit he gets from Shu because he knows how new and hard this is for him, how much the littlest things mean.

Because he wants to be loved. And he is trying to love more

If anyone is more interested in the work behind the Gävle goat there is apparently a documentary here, mostly in swedish, but what I found most charming is that you can climb into the goat through a door in it's behind.

And if you ever wondered: yes, according to rumors a couple have fucked in the Gävle goat. In 1966 in fact, the first year it was up and before any kind of arson. I don't know why they threw that into the documentary but this goat has layers is all I'm saying.
