An Au where Sanji, Yamato, Zoro and Ace are one big happy poly couple

I think they'd get there in a very messy and uncoordinated way but when they do,

Okay so I see the logic here as such:

Zoro already had some liking towards the cook but never did anything about it because what would it even matter? He's seen him interact with women, there's no way he'd say anything just to be rejected. He has pride.

That is until Ace comes along. At first when he watched them hit it off, he felt like maybe he was the problem. Why else would Sanji be so nice to Ace. Plus he never bickered or had a problem with Usopp and rarely did with Luffy. But on the other hand, they seem oddly close and he doubts it's either a cultural or a grudge thing. He never questioned when Ace would stay on night watch duty with Sanji, or when he'd stay after meals for "a cup of tea or coffee" with him. Though he did notice how touchy Luffy's brother could be with the cook and how little the other minded.

But after Arabasta one drunkin night Sanji tells Zoro how much he misses Ace and how he wishes he'd see him again. When Zoro says something like "As much as you can miss anything that isn't a woman" to which Sanji takes offense and responds with something along the lines of "Men can be just as beautiful as women, Ace is living proof of that." Sanji tells Zoro how at first he was a bit jealous of him because Ace used to make offhand how cool Zoro was in certain situations. And one thing leads to another, they end up spending the night together. Too drunk to realize what happened, they wake up in shock.

At first it's a bit awkward between them but they eventually talk about it (or I guess bicker). Their conversation gets nowhere and nothing much is resolved, but at least they don't feel like they're stepping on eggshells anymore.

After the time skip, where Ace doesn't die because I need them to be happy (he was on the island, training with Luffy), Sanji meets Ace, accompanying his captain to Sabaody Island. Without a second thought, he flungs himself at Ace, happy he can see him again. Ace doesn't join the crew or anything, but takes goes out to find some of the whitebeard pirates.

They eventually meet up again on Wano.

In my mind, Ace and Yamato are like those two guys who look like dudebro's but one day they're like "wouldn't it be crazy if we were both gay and into each other", and it turns out they were both gay and into each other...

Ace sees that Sanji is a bit too much into his (a little more that) bro and goes, I can wingman you. And it works out so well, Zoro and Yamato bond over being gym rats and liking these boylosers. Sanji is dying from blood loss every time he realizes his boyfriends have the best man-tits in the land. And Ace is in love with how much everyone loves him .

For Red Butler/Swap AU - RB!Mey-Rin's first reaction to meeting Ronald was she thought he was cute, she liked his hair. When she tried to tell him that, he was confused since Ron didn't know English and Layla had to translate it for him (she overexaggerated it on purpose, instead "oh she thinks your hair is cute" she went "Oh she says your hair is SOOOO cute and your face is ADOORABLEEE"). He got very flustered, quickly - Since Ronald only knew German and was struggling with learning English, Mey-Rin started to learn German herself in her free time so she could get along with him better. And since she was a fast learner, she picked it up quick!! She surprised Ronald with it one day and it was safe to say he felt honoured <3 (It also eventually led to Ron teaching Mey-Rin more German while she helped him out with English)

For Beastars Butler AU - Mey-Rin first avoided Ronald because a gazelle trying to offer flowers and gifts to a cheetah was not a good look in the publics eyes (Mix species couples involving Carnivores and Herbivores together were very frowned upon). Though later was revealed she was scared that she would fall for him (she already did) but then later her instincts would kick him and she'd end up eating him. - Ronald actually reassured Mey-Rin that she wouldn't have to worry about eating him because a reapers meat and smell is actually very disgusting and would scare away any carnivores because it was that bad. He even demonstrated it by purposely cutting his hand open and the smell of rotten meat filled the room completely to the point Mey-Rin gagged alot. After that, she just helped him bandage his wound up, she was actually happy to know the sight or smell of meat now officially disgusted/disturbed her because of this. (This actually helped Mey-Rin associate the smell with other herbivores as well so her instincts almost never get triggered because her brain just assumes all herbivore meat smells and probably tastes horrible!! Making it much easier to protect her herbivore friends and family all thanks to Ronald!!)

Favorite thing about him: I mean, it's gotta be his whole redemption arc. His character growth is unmatched, especially from season 1 to season 2. I love to see him mess up and learn to be a better person. It feels super real.

Least favorite thing about him: His self-sacrificing behavior. I love it, it's ripe with angst potential, but someone needs to look at him and say that he doesn't have to risk everything for other people, that he can ask for help, too!

Favorite line: "My problem is that you guys are assholes!" from when he blows off Tommy and Carol in season 1. (Can you tell I just did a rewatch?) It's the beginning of him becoming a better person, and I love it, looking back.

brOTP: Steve & Robin, all the way, with honorable mentions to Steve & Dustin and Steve & Max. Platonic soulmatism is unmatched, but I also love Steve being a really awesome older brother for the two kids in the party who don't have siblings.

OTP: Steddie. One thousand percent. I don't think I need to say any more.

nOTP: Stancy. But only because I think it would be detrimental to both of their characters if they were to get back together. I love them individually as characters, and I think that if they had a long talk, they could be really awesome friends, but I don't see them together romantically.

Random headcanon: Steve hates his full name. I wrote a fic about it.

Unpopular opinion: The fandom tends to brush over the fact that Steve is still mean. That doesn't mean he's a bad person; it just means he doesn't think before he speaks and falls back on bad habits sometimes. He's easily frustrated and will insult people, but the important thing that differentiates him now from him back in season 1 is that he apologizes and actually cares. But Steve being mean is half his fun, and I wish more people would take advantage of it!

Song I associate with him: I'm gonna be a bit basic and say "Head Over Heels" by Tears for Fears, but I'm also going to have a blorbo projection moment and also say "Normal" by The Wrecks. You can't tell me that when he's surrounded by literal geniuses, and they're all in relationships when he isn't that he won't feel some type of way about it.

the best thing the strangers things writing team ever did was make will and el siblings it’s just the PERFECT narrative move. they always had this connection, ever since el picked out will from a photograph even tho she’d never seen him. but he was gone all of s1 and she was gone most of s2 so we don’t even see them interacting in a meaningful or personal way until s3 and then it’s just awkward bc of mike reasons or whatever. so they have had this thing bonding them together for so long but they had no framework for how to see/understand each other. so this deep connection is just sitting there. it’s made them closer than friends but still they didn’t know each other. they don’t know how to act they don’t even know what to think of each tower. so for the writers to make them siblings!!!! my heart!!! it’s just the perfect move. their connection to the upside down and to each other IS akin to blood. they’re on the same side. theyre snarky they fight they share food they help with school projects they love each other. they’re my wonder twins!!!

(second best thing was making steve a boyloser. yes i think him being a boyloser and getting constantly turned down by women and working minimum wage and losing his best feature via sailor hat did more for his character than the dustin friendship/babysitter bit i’m right.)

Xingqui x Chongyun - this one is just so good. contender for my fav ship. you pretty much never see one without the other. they have a silly dynamic that I think is harmless and fun to see. big fan of time skip au's for this one specifically (I like to see how they've grown as ppl it makes me proud)

BeiNing - old married couple, like cmon "they don't like each other but will show up to hang out and play chess and will even ignore law-breaking for" bruh that's gay as hell. not even rivals literally just lovers.

Ayaka x Nilou - crackship, They're both criticized for being boring which I sometimes agree with (tho only with Ayaka but that's just because I wish she was a little more adventurous cause she's proven time and time again she's very capable of fending for herself).
