#it felt important so I'm documenting it #I went to walk around my neighborhood and it was pouring rain #I was wearing pajamas but it was okay #my neighbors were walking alongside me until they split off #and I kept going and crossed over a wide artificial river #there were kids watching it and they all walked away except one who rode a tiny bike #the mailman called out to me by name and told me to come back later #the line at the coffee shop was too long so i kept walking #i walked past a class of schoolchildren. their teacher stopped me and asked for directions to the arby's. i told her it was up the hill #they were going on a field trip #i kept walking #the buildings across the street were taller and there were huge trees that seemed the height of the sky #i saw a bird and stopped to watch it. the rain didn't bother me #(it never does in real life either) #and someone stopped to watch the bird with me #and i was ready to go home and then my alarm went off

(anyone seeing this out of context: i took a late night field trip to the beach back in october to see the orionids meteor shower, and while i did not get pics of the meteor shower, i did get pics of the stars!)

first one is my fave bc i got some of the beach at the bottom

and then some more side by side with me looking them up in stellarium so i could identify the stars and planets!!

If you could relive any memory of your past, what would it be?

HRM interesting question, I'm not really sure. My family used to travel when I was younger (and when the university my dad taught at was better funded 😅) so I'd probably say one of those memories! It also depends on how long of the memory I'd get to relive, and if I could only relive the specific bit that I remember. Because I went to Australia as basically a baby and have about half a memory of that, so if I could relive that but MORE of it, I'd like to. But if it was limited to stuff I have a clear memory of, it would be visiting a castle in Italy and then having gelato afterwards. Or having cioccolata calda on a rainy day with my dad's colleague! Or visiting that same colleague's house and having a homemade dinner with her family! When I think back on it that was one of the coolest "vacations" I went on in my life but I was only 9-10ish, so I didn't fully appreciate all of it.

Fright Knight sighs, running a clawed hand through his hair in an attempt to stop the flames from flickering into being. It had been far too long since he had taken a human-ish form. His human-ish form. Ugh. He didn’t exactly care for his human form after so long as a ghost, but needs must he supposed. 

Especially with the whole, we’re going to punch a backdoor into the literal daycare part of the Infinite Realms and be surprised when literal toddlers go exploring. 

Well, at least it got him off of guard duty for a bit, which was relieving. Not that he didn’t love the darkness, but it got boring in the shadow of his sword for literal centuries with nothing else happening. He was a warrior for Realm’s sake! Borderline an Ancient in both power and age! He wasn’t meant to stay so still for so long. 

So while ghostling wrangling wasn’t exactly in his area of expertise, he could definitely gather them back up to the Realms. And deal with the curs who had decided to attack literal babies. 

The Daycare area was already understaffed due to just how large it was, and the one in charge of this section had practically sobbed to the Council (In another world they would have been put on hold for a century in line for their concerns, and then more once a Sarcophagus was opened, but they had told the other ghosts in distress, causing others to let them go up in said line) how they were almost certain they had felt at least one core form Outside the realms thanks to the breach. 

Which had understandably put everyone at an uproar. 

So here he was slipping between shadows to do reconnaissance and take stock of if any Ghostlings had left the city. And gently scruffing those he comes across in exasperation because what are you doing, ghostling? Look at the mess, what would your caretaker say?

This is now bonhomme carnaval post. cet homme m'a fait peur quand je suis petit mais maintenant je l’apprécit. i don’t live in quebec but every year until 6th grade we’d have a solid week of bonhomme carnavale activities and watch videos about the carnaval in quebec and it was so exciting and then like after that week it was never mentioned again. the build up always made me think that there would be a special event but I think maybe the build up was the event… it was so constant though that i kind of thought oh wow are we like. Going to go there (even though we are 9 and that is the other side of the country)
