Are there any non-humans in Monster High that are not considered a type of monster?
In g1 we have CA Cupid! She used to go to Monster High before transferring and shes a greek goddess, not a monster. Posea isnt a student but she is a part of the franchise and I'd argue shes a godess as well. I dont really consider either of them to be monsters.
I do wonder about mermaids and whether or not they're considered monsters? We have great scarrier reef where the ghouls all turn into mermaids, and also Finnigan exists. With the existence of Meeshell over in Ever After High. To me it kind of implies that mermaids are a kind of monster and shes more the exception than the rule... I wonder if the underwater world has its own cultural distinctions as well, if you consider how the reef dwellers treat the kraken.
Jinafire and Isi as well count more as mythological/magical creatures than they do monsters in my book.
Invisi Billy actually is one where I'm puzzled. MH doesn't really stick to the lore it pulls from in terms of Universal Studio Classics, obvi, but technically Billy's dad was a human man who fell into a science experiment. Billy in my mind fits in a weird grey zone where hes lumped in with monsters and considers himself part of that community but falls out of most peoples definition of what a monster is. But hes different enough to not he counted as human. 馃
Also, technically speaking, I don't think ghosts consider themselves to be monsters in g1? Like they exist in their own dimension, and Spectra's family choosing to move to the monster world is seen as kinda scandalous. Monster society I'd say views ghosts as monsters but its not a label all ghosts subscribe too.
G3 lore states that everything is a monster type though, even humans. So in that universe the answer is no.

(gently patting the american public on the back like a small child) hey little guy. i know this is going to be hard for you but you have to say bye-bye to burger for a little while okay? shhh shh hey hey dont cry, its okay. burger is going to be fine. burger is just funding something very bad and if we give them money then theyll give it to the bad people. so we have to say bye-bye to burger until burger can behave itself okay?

genuinely asking: how do you tell people in your life who you're not particularly close to that they need to start fucking masking again [and stop engaging in some high-risk behaviors like frequently kissing near-strangers with no info on covid status] especially given that disabled people are in their lives.
especially when they're people who have not reacted well to you bringing up issues regarding behaviors that harm inclusion in the past.
like im not going "oh woe is me how can i possibly ask my friends to mask because it makes me uncomfortable" i'm saying that i have many acquaintances who do not have their shit together but who do not react well to light feedback on how their behavior affects others and it is putting me, personally, in danger, but i'd rather not also put myself in emotional danger for no fucking reason
do you know how not in the mood i am to be treated like an obnoxious whiny killjoy for wanting to be safe around people. it's very not in the mood. especially because if they have that reaction the behavior wont change anyway, so i just made people like me even less for nothing at all.

no i get why ppl were pissed about the fanon davekat content before because when i look at sakuatsu and seriei content now im shocked at literally the exact same dynamics repurposed for characters with different personalities.
i do get that people have a taste for certain tropes and dynamics but there is a difference between headcanons and interpretations that influence a certain perception of a character due to personal tastes and like, reducing complex and meaningful characters down to their most consumable archetypes to mass produce another artwork of twinks kissing

its such a stigma to be like "i don't like dogs" and every time i see anyone dislike dogs they have to adamantly justify it and pander ("dogs are fine really!! you can like them!!! i just personally!! don't like them!!!") it rly. bothers me. like my mum was bitten unprovoked by a dog when she was on a walk and she still doesnt like to go anywhere near dogs even "friendly" ones (it was unprovoked, she walked "too close" to someones gate) and she has to explain that every time someone is like "why wont you sit near my dog?" like. just let people dislike things, even and especially animals whos behaviour entirely depends on how well the owners train them.

I like everybody else terminally online watched the plagiarism video this weekend
And maybe I'm just coming at this from a perspective of someone who was not exposed to j som before he got exposed but like Jesus fuck what the shit
Plagiarism notwithstanding, that man makes some bogus ass, shit ass claims that on a very basic level just do not pass a sniff test by anyone who knows even a little bit about anything
I mean, the man waxes on longingly about the beautiful aryan nazi bodies to serve the conclusion that US troops volunteered for service to.....prove that it wasn't just the nazis who had perfectly sculpted hairless asses? Is that like......even something anyone thinks smells a little bit true? Like on a basic motivational level, for a nation, for a people, for a single person?
Making claims that the Roman empire was 70% slaves and 30% patricians.........does that even sound correct? Like, even if all you know about ancient Rome is from memes and shit, where are the plebs? You know, the thing we still call people today, when they're acting common and unwashed
The thing about how no songs prior to 1956 made references to kissing....I mean guys.....
And like ......not to like.... But like ..... The man has the charisma of a slow growing fungus. Granted I've only ever seen clips bc by the time I got there, he'd nuked his channel, but like.... I've heard AI voices reading tiktok subtitles inject more urgency and personality into text. J som reads text like he not only doesn't know what he's saying, he doesn't know any of the individual words and how they interact with one another. Like who voluntarily listens to this boring dumbass badly read from a script that has no coherent style tying it together?
Like I know people are gagging for gay rep but fuckin seriously, not only is he a plagiarizing douche who makes shit up wholecloth, he's not even a decent entertainer
Is this what y'all are settling for? Is the bar really that fuckin low?

Idk how many of y'all watch Good Mythical Morning but I just want to say that as a gnc person it makes me so happy to see Chase get to dress however he wants and have it just be normal. The crop top he always wears during international food taste tests isn't treated as weird, that's just his cartographer shirt, and it's become such a signature look that other people have to wear it while filling in for him. He plays a few female characters that wear dresses, but the fact that he's playing a woman or wearing a dress is never treated like a joke. The actual joke is that the character he's playing is a fancy dancing cow or an alternate universe version of Little Debbie named Giant Deborah who can teleport across dimensions if you chant for her. The dress is just part of the character, and Chase just happens to be comfortable wearing dresses and really good at playing funny characters. Idk, it just makes me feel really happy to see another gnc person out there thriving and living their best life. I've always been hesitant about being out as nonbinary at work bc I didn't think it would be possible for people to just treat it like a normal thing, and recently I've been worried that once I graduate college and go on to more "professional" work my future employers may see my gender nonconformity as unprofessional, which scares me bc it's not even possible for me to conform to any gender expectations anymore. But. Here on one of my favorite YouTube channels there's a gnc person who gets to dress however they want for their job, even having roles where their gender nonconformity is important to the videos, and it's just treated like the most normal thing in the world. If that's possible then maybe the idea of finding a research job that will respect me isn't so far fetched

ngl i always wonder when i see someone claim not keeping up with global tragedies is a "privilege" how tuned into their local politics and news they are. because honestly? being able to ignore the problems in your own backyard is the real privilege at play.
