i really think the witcher would benefit from a long running comedy gag going on in the background. like if we take jaskier in blood origin as an example, i think every now and again he should just magically disappear on secret magic sandpiper missions and then reappear in the next scene like nothing happened (and i'm talking actually magically disappear and reappear like you just see him POOF out of existence and then POOF back in. like covered in blood or in a completely different outfit which he then has to try and explain). or he's a wanted man for various sandpiper/secret spy reasons but he hasn't actually told anyone yet so every now and again you see him in the background really shittily and comedically taking out assassins that are after him. no one else ever notices and it is never brought up in the show.

like im someone that does tend to believe that fandom is usually "wrong" abt the source material (as in fanon often oversimplifies canon, as in fandom often misunderstands or misinterprets the source) and often has gripes bc of that but when it comes to fanwork (such as art, writing, AUs) being "wrong" abt canon licherally does not matter. fanwork =/= analysis and shouldn't be a 1 for 1 replica of canon and while i do have gripes and preferences ... at the end of the day having an opinion on how people talk abt a character in meta and how people talk about a chracter in a fic . tend to be very different

that it's ... good, actually? not that a great deal of criticisms don't have merit, but i very much like what the show does, how consistent it is and the character work done each season. its probably biggest flaw is - and especially noticeable after s1 - the brevity of subsequent seasons. had there been one or two more episodes from season 2 onward it would have served the show in some major or minor ways; and i do think that messes sometimes with how things are transported to the viewer, but idk. if you pay attention it's fine also
