how well the red queen ships would fare in a long distance relationship:

marecal: absolutely terrible. mare gets insecure but doesn’t know how to communicate her fears of losing him and cal can never pick up on why she’s pissed off at him all the time. kilorn has to block them both for his mental happiness because mare keeps sending him edgy text messages and cal keeps ringing him up stressed out of his mind. when one flies down to see the other they are inseparable but arguing all the time and the goodbyes are always painfully drawn out and they’re both crying for the next three hours over it.

evane: evangeline will get a little jealous when she hears about a new friend of elane’s and elane will get FOMO when she hear about thing evangeline is doing without her but they communicate effectively and would spend a lot of dough visiting each other as much as they can even if its mot so reasonable. i think this is the couple that will be the least likely to ever do long distance because they literally cant be separated it would have to take a miracle.

sharley: they are pretty okay. they miss each other heaps and when they facetime it hits how far the other is and diana will stay up late at night sweating about not being around shade for too long but other than that they don’t get very jealous of people around them and are secure in their love.

kilorn x cameron: stable as hell. kilorn gets occasionally sad but both are so busy with their lives they can go two weeks without a text and then remember ‘oh shit havent called my gf/bf’ in a while and when they do its no big deal. kilorn texts cameron an ‘i miss you’ text and gets his response 8 hours later and its chill. and then they meet up and hang like they saw each other last tuesday. they dont want to be apart but they know its not gonna last forever.

thomaven: maven is absolutely terrible at it. thomas will go away and 72 hours later maven will show up at his front door with no warning.

gisa x shopgirl: probably the most stable. there could be sabotage ploy after sabotage ploy on this ship and they would still make it out the other end without breaking a sweat.

Random Headcanon: Maven Calore hates old people.

Like dude had beef with his brother, his father, his uncle, his mother-in-law, his grandma, his ex-fiiancée and his wife. The ONLY older person he liked was his mom, Elara.

Which kinda makes sense since he craves to be seen and understood. Having an age gap would probably be a hindrance in forming a connection. Plus, the fact that Mare was only a month older than him (and probably Thomas too). Made it easier for him form a connection and him later, falling for them.

Just me, overthinking this: Maybe his dislike for the elder could also stem from the Royal Tradition. Where being born first/being older would mean they'll have everything: power, family legacy, love and admiration. A tradition that older members of the court uphold on the Royal family and among themselves.

Maven Calore being born second meant he was doomed to be seen as less. No matter what he did. Betraying his father, usurping the throne and wearing his father's crown. He was still Maven Calore, never to have "Tiberias" in his name, because he was and still is the second son of House Calore.

okay an. the fact that thomas died by maven hand also makes me want to chew on industrial-grade steel. like I barely go to thomaven's place however,,, the way thomas are mare are set up as maven's loves.... the one he lost and the one he'd do anything to keep.... like you simply cannot make mareven separate from thomaven. you would not have the obsessive tendencies and the general "omg what the fuck" of mareven if thomas didn't die. especially by mavens hands. and maven had to go back to whitefire and know that he did this. and obv he doesn't want to do it again but. amplified and made more messed up bc of elara.

I’ve started doing very short sketches for the month of October and picking/letting my friends pick ships/duos to draw. This batch should have also included day 3 (Fake Baby) and 4 (Shared Crafts) but i struggled very hard with these two as I chose Farley and Shade for the first and then wanted to do little calore brothers for the second and i have no perception of Shade Barrow in my head and i have a bad track record of drawing children.

I may go back at a later date render these drawings but for now im trying to make quick, easily perceived drawings to teach myself to draw faster and be much less precious with my art.

First place you should go is def the @nortaeventcouncil, they run fandom events (check out the admin @drewtanakagf too, she doesn't post exclusively RQ but she does post for it). @ball-of-butter frequently has great posts, as does @planetmaven. For good art you can go to @mavenne and @snakerdoodlle. Oh, and also @vamxxpire! @lilyharvord used to post a lot and still does very occasionally, as does @king-maven-calore. Both are also fic writers.

Someone who doesn't post a lot on here and kinda retired with fic writing is @nymphenberger/TwistedNym on Ao3. She used to be THE Thomaven creator, now she primarily writes OCs and side characters. Oh, and there's @imperatrice21 who does mostly book 1 mareven stuff
