Been discussing with @chie-thinks-what-to-type What If The Interns Played D&D and I'm utterly charmed by Norma 'this is just a strategy simulation and team-building exercise I'm not invested I'm not invested' Natividad

I think my favorite moment this week is when they're by han river and jaewon tells jihyun that there's smth he's always dreamed of doing but never tried like we see him talk to his therapist next and it's obv such a huge thing to him he can't even tell her what it is he just says that it is and it's smth he really wants but is scared to pursue and no one else in his life knows its smth he's only disclosed to jihyun like that's such A Big Deal.
we already know that jaewon's mask keeps cracking around jihyun and that's smth both alarming and comforting to him so when theyre alone w jihyun at han river and the atmosphere is just right he lets it slip then realizes he's too scared to spell it out loud and backtracks. but that he mentions it all really goes to show just how comfortable he is w jihyun and how serious he subconsciously is about getting to know him. he wants to know who jihyun is yeah, but he wants jihyun to know him too and for someone like jaewon who's at a stage where he's grown tired of ppl that's a huge deal.
later when he asks to walk back jihyun after work and lies that he's here coincidently (such a reasonable lie too he's so experienced), he asks jihyun what's wrong not expecting the truth from him. he hides so much himself he expects jihyun to too bc jihyun isn't like his loud, whiney friends. jihyun is quiet and working hard to improve himself. jihyun is still new to everything and was humiliated today by the one person he feels insecure about. but jihyun doesn't brush it off obstinately and opens up w a little prodding. and bc he's given him the truth, jaewon feels compelled to give back. it's the second time his words and not his gestures prove he's serious about them and this time it's done consciously and is something jihyun understands.

could messmer be one of the first manifestation of marika/radagon's truth - if he was one of her first children - and this is the main reason he was hidden and then he turn himself into heresy?

amatonormativity is annoying. it makes people assume romantic stuff even when there's nothing like that going on. for years, i've been focused on disliking amatonormativity itself.
but recently, i've been dealing with grief and guilt. admittedly, the way i handle amatonormativity isn't the best. i lash out towards the very people with whom i'm thought to have some sort of romantic undercurrent with. i feel guilt over the things i did to put distance between us. i feel grief over how those friendships, some of them close friendships, ended because people thought there was something romantic between us.
no, that isn't right. those friendships ended because of my own fault. regardless of the amatonormativity, i was the one who decided to sabotage those friendships. i ought to take some accountability, at the very least.
i grief for the friendships i lost because of my actions. i regret all the hurt my past friends have felt because of my actions. i detest the person i became when i get so overwhelmed with amatonormativity.
and this? this feels more intense compared to previous annoyance of amatonormativity, back before it hit me just how much damage i did to my past friends. it really drives the point how much amatonormativity has affected my life.

Thinking about how Clorinde is nothing more than a glorified executioner. How her honor and skill are a veil so the people do not have to think about how they are rejoicing at the violent murder of a petty criminal, and get to pretend they are witnessing a fair and just retribution through the farce of a duel.
She seems like an honorable person. The kind of fighter that has accrued respect for life and bravery, that sees their fighting as an art. We know next to absolutely nothing about her, other than she's a doormat for Navia, and has deep respect and devotion to an ostensibly guilty man.
Another detail that is driving me crazy is that she was holding back against Childe during their duel. Nobody becomes champion duelist by holding back, so either she wanted to get it out of the way, or she has lost the joy in her craft.
Waiting like a MAD MAN for more lore on her...

A lot of people learned the term 'social construct' and ran with it without taking even an hour to actually study and understand what it means. Just because something is a social construct it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it only means that it's malleable and not rooted in anything biological, making it changeable and influenced by social contexts.
Take a simple example: Money is a social construct. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist and it doesn't hold a massive sway of influence over the lives of people in societies where money is present (just how it doesn't mean it isn't influenced by the societies where it's present in return). And while yes, it would be ideal for everyone to have equal access to it or even for it to be deemed unnecessary and completely abolished, it doesn't mean either of these things are happening or are anywhere near of happening in the world we live in right now - thus, we need to take it into account, with all the implications it brings depending on the context its inserted in, and we need to take into consideration all of those implications and the influences it has both present and historically.
