Thrawn Alliances
Thrawn, my man, you already know Anakin was Ahsoka's master. Padmé told you in Thrawn Alliances. You're not the kind of guy who forgets these things, especially since you've used her Marg Sabl maneuver many times.

"It makes sense that Thrawn doesn't know who Ahsoka's master is, no one ever told him, this is not a retcon!" Oh, Really?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Padme told him quite clearly, and Dave is having fun retconning shit.

I was talking about this to my bf like-
Imagine Thrawn confronting Ahsoka in his typical Thrawn fashion, a damning barrage of words about how he's knows her, knows her master and knows her weaknesses.
Then when Ahsoka is like, you don't know my master, you only knew what he became
Thrawn drops the absolute bombshell that no, he worked with Anakin Skywalker during the clone wars, he knows him, he knows about his wife, he knows about what drove him to darkness.
I just want something like that so bad

no but can we talk about thrawn’s reaction to finding out who ahsoka’s master was? he reads the name, and says it out loud to confirm. he most likely remembers anakin skywalker, getting flashbacks from the time he met him during the clone wars. thrawn’s eyes looked wide, and there was definitely something going through his head.

After the recent episode, some people might be wondering about the statement that Thrawn knew Anakin Skywalker.
Yes, Thrawn knew Anakin when he was Vader. But he knew him when he was Anakin, too.
As seen in the book Thrawn: Alliances, Thrawn came into contact with both Anakin and Vader. Thrawn originally comes from an area of the Unknown Regions called the Chiss Ascendancy, and Thrawn came to “known space” during the Clone Wars for a mission. There, Thrawn met and teamed up with Anakin Skywalker for a brief time.
Years later, after the Republic fell and became an Empire, Thrawn left the Chiss Ascendancy permanently and was recruited by the Empire in part because of his previous work with Anakin Skywalker. When later working with Darth Vader on various missions, Thrawn recognized and figured out that Vader and Anakin were the same person.

I think now we can eliminate the 'Mitth' and 'nuruodo' from his name completely...

fic: Admiral Fantastic, Thranto, Mature, post-Ahsoka, fix-it, chapter 7/25
Summary: As the Chiss Ascendancy faces a new threat, Eli Vanto must travel to Lesser Space to bring Thrawn back. Only his plan goes south when his half-Chiss, Force-sensitive, and very lonely son sneaks onto the ship.
Excerpt:
Enoch looks around and lowers his voice to a half-whisper.
“Sir, how sure are we that we want to orchestrate an attack on Coruscant in a matter of a week?”
“I believe," Thrawn's gaze skims over the coffins, “a statement is in order.”
Uniting the Imperial remnants has proven to be more challenging than expected. Thrawn knows himself; politics is not a field where he is at his strongest. Captain Pellaeon helps to the best of his ability. But sometimes, just sometimes, Thrawn catches himself imagining Eli Vanto by his side. Eli always made it easier. He had the talent to sense other people’s moods and read between the lines, as well as an acute, ingrained understanding of the intricate power dynamics that permeated the Empire. Perhaps such understanding was a survival mechanism. People like him, people from the Outer Rim, were treated in the Empire even worse than those Chiss who were born on the colonial planets in the Ascendancy.
But it does not take Eli Vanto’s political sensitivity to understand that a successful attack on the capital of the New Republic may restore even the faith of those the most demoralized by the recent failures.
Thrawn wishes Eli were there to witness all the coming victories.
(Eli is lightyears away.)
(It is fine.)
A friend is not a commodity to be kept. Paths shift and divert.
