Since I finished reading The Rising Storm yesterday and listened to the Race to Crashpoint Tower earlier today, I just finished all the comics between that and Out of the Shadows (which I'll get to after I read Jedi Trial), so it's THRcomicsposting time (starting with THR Adventures issues that are before The Rising Storm because I haven't posted them before)

Adventures is so good, I love how Lula and Zeen are actually just soulmates, obviously nothing bad is ever going to happen to them and they'll live happily ever after

Favorite Yoda panels from vol 1, incredibly conflicted in my opinion on this green fucker

Tiny masters 🤏 and just Avar and Kantam

They're so cute I need to eat them actually

Had a THR issue in the middle of it and! Reath and Cohmac! two of my thr favs

Now that we have Loden, Bell and Ember and Estala Maru in Young Jedi Adventures here’s some other ones that I want

-Geode and Leox because that would be hilarious (moral would be like Reath’s in Into the Dark, respect other people’s differences)

-The Firebrands because I want to see them happy and all together (moral would be the YJA kids are worried about them growing apart as they become padawans and Jedi knights so the Firebrands explain to them that even they can’t see each other very often anymore they are still best friends and always will be)

-Master Torban “Buckets of Blood” Buck (No specific moral for him, he’d just be hilarious in any episode he’s in, he was born to be on a preschooler show)

hey remember that not at all depressing poster from the end of phase 1?

anyway i went back with the info we got since (up to the first wave of phase 3, but timeline-wise shortly after the fall).

(red for confirmed dead, yellow for missing presumed dead, green for no-specific-reason-to-think-they're-dead-but-very-much-missing)

1. The Starlight Beacon. Extremely dead.

2. Vernestra Rwoh and Imri Cantaros. Vernestra could be green (heh) i suppose. We got an update on her and Imri's situation in Tales of Light and Life and a recap during her chapters in the beginning of Defy the Storm.

3. Bell Zettifar. He made it through TFS, yay!

4. Burryaga and Nib Assek. Their fates were described in TFS.

5. Avar Kriss. Made it but left very shortly after as seen in Shadows of Starlight.

6. Sskeer. We didn't know what supposedly happened there until the first issue of THR 2023, where Keeve reminisces about the events.

7. Keeve Trennis. She lived :)

8. Terec and Ceret. Also lived.

9. Estala Maru. Dead during the last issue of THR 2021.

10. Torban “Buckets of Blood” Buck. MIA as per THRA 2023.

11. Lula Talisola, Farzala Tarabal, and Qort. Lula especially was in a scary position in Starlight Coda. We learned of the trio's situation first in THRA 2023 issue 1.

12. Kantam Sy. Saved by being elsewhere during the Beacon's fall, in Midnight Horizon.

13. Porter Engle. Revealed to have been stranded behind the Stormwall shortly after, discussed in The Eye of Darkness.

14. Orla Jareni. Dead in TFS.

15. Stellan Gios. Same :(

16. Cohmac Vitus. Ditched the order in Midnight Horizon. Not for a short and quick identity crisis either, as confirmed in Shadows of Starlight.

17. Ram Jomaram. Assumed to be fine, relatively speaking, because of Midnight Horizon showing him on Corellia. Then Escape from Valo punched us in the face with the knowledge he went to Valo right after and was trapped there.

18. Reath Silas. He lived and didn't even go AWOL like his master and best friend.

19. Elzar Mann. Lived but at what cost.

20. Lily Tora-Asi, Padawan Keerin Fionn, and Master Arkoff. AWOL, dead, fine. The first two are discussed in The Edge of Balance Vol 2, Arkoff shows up in Shadows of Starlight to knight Burry.

21. Emerick Caphtor. We saw him in the middle of the action during the Beacon's fall but he showed up at the beginning of Shadows of Starlight and was ok.

Matthea “Matty” Cathley | Identity: wlw | Media: The High Republic Phase II

Matty Cathley was the talkative (and ADHD-coded) padawan of Master Leebon, the Jedi Order’s representative to Jedha’s convocation of the Force. Matty was assigned to introduce Vildar Mac to Jedha, causing her to spend the lead up to and the Battle of Jedha by his side. She ended up defending the bar Enlightenment from rioters and enforcer droids. During the battle, her master was consumed by the Leveler. Vildar became her new master. After the battle, she was assigned to investigate the Path of the Open Hand with Oliviah Zeveron. She had a crush on Oliviah, and the mission reignited that. However, she was eventually able to process her star-struckness. Their investigation put them right in the middle of the Night of Sorrow. During the battle, when being attacked by the Leveler, Matty was able to push through its fear effect.

Kantam Sy | Identity: non-binary | Media: The High Republic Phase I

Kantam Sy was the padawan of Yoda. Sensing they weren’t ready to fully commit to the Order, Yoda delayed their knighting. They ran away from the Order for a year- initially to follow a man they fell in love with, but then just to see the galaxy. After rescuing the force sensitive orphan Lula Talisola, they realized that their place was the Jedi Order and returned to it, receiving their knighthood and bringing Lula to the Order. When Lula was old enough, they took her on as their padawan.

During High Republic Adventures’ 2020 run, Lula is part of the Star Hopper, a Jedi academy ship. Kantam is one of the ship’s instructors, but Yoda is the leader of the group. During their missions against the Nihil, they are joined by Zeen Mrala, a force-sensitive girl who is too old to become a Jedi. Despite that, Kantam is happy to welcome them to the Star Hopper and Starlight Beacon and train her as a Jedi auxiliary along with the other masters and padawans. After Yoda suddenly leaves on mysterious business, Kantam and Buck Torban become the main instructors to the padawans of the Star Hopper.

They are very empathetic and have a lot of good teachings regarding non-attachment and how to balance love and duty. They are close friends with Buck Torban and Cohmac Vitus.
