🪨 Desert Rocks 🌵

Hey, y'all! I was decorating Strangetown and felt bothered by the flatness and lack of scenery. I decided to take a shot at editing the colors on some of my favorite 4t2 rocks by @leoz94, and since they turned out good, I thought I'd share them with you today!

⚠️ You can't have both mine and leoz's in your game, so you must choose one (I'm sorry). I'd ideally like to have both, but I don't know how to do that at the moment.

These were made to match lordcrump's default desert terrain because that's what I use. I'm not sure how these would look with other ones. I'd be happy to make ones that match other defaults if it's requested/wanted. 💛

⚠️ UPDATE: I just realized after uploading that my previews aren't very accurate, aaa! I use reshade 4.6.1 (falkii's turniphead preset) and genuinely forgot that I had it on (because I never have it off)! 😅 I highly recommend it, but regardless, I'm sorry! Below are accurate previews. 🙏💛

4t2 DL Decidedly Neutral Curtain + mount + add-ons

@stinkyunicorn suggested some fixes to @nonsensical-pixels conversions of TS4 Desert Luxe curtains, so I did it and more (fun fact : they don't properly align in TS4 either 🙄).

The curtain and mount were not shiftable, so it was difficult to make them align. They shift now (move them to the very top for them to align, then move them 2 levels down and tadam !). They are also at ground height now to avoid the darken bug as usual. I also moved the meshes forward because they were half inside the wall, which made them unusable with most windows. + I repo'd the mount to the curtain.

I also made 4 repo'd smaller add-ons because we never have enough matching curtains, right ?

(it feels like the bottom is darker on the smaller add-ons, but I believe they are not... I think this is because the middle texture is lighter as you go up so the bottom part feels darker in comparison ; I made them that way to avoid texture distorsion on the smaller curtains so if someone makes patterned recolors they won't stretch)

All TS4 textures merged with the curtain file. Costs : 25$ (mount), and from 50 to 150$ (curtains). Polys : 20 (mount), 432 (curtains).

If you turn off the main highway, at the top of the hill, you'll find the Curious brothers. Or at least Pascal and Vidcund. Lazlo has long since moved to town after getting married (leaving the greenhouse rather neglected).

The kids are off at college, but Erin Beaker, who was hired as a live-in nanny, has stayed around anyway. That leaves plenty of empty space and three empty nesters.

Vidcund and Pascal found new ways to occupy their time. Erin recently decided it was time to pursue a career outside nannying alien children. Her hobbies include dancing and staying in her nightie all day.

I decided I wanted to draw more than just babies, So here's a small art dump

Baby beans. I decided on making Violet's hair curly, I wasn't satisfied with her hair before. I think she looks better with curly hair

Speaking of curly hair, I also gave Jill curly hair as well

Sk8er boy Johnny. Just vibing until Tank appears out of nowhere

Finally we got lil chibi Mr and Mrs Curious. I've seen people say that Glarn is the strict one because he had emotional issues, but I think it's Kitty

Glarn is pretty playful, while Kitty is serious for the most part. I do see him having emotional issues, especially from after his abduction and divorce. Probably messed with him in that department. I think he seems to have trouble opening up with his feelings. I think overall he tries to be a good dad with his kids(Especially with him giving up Lola and Chloe), but anything that involves feelings he's not good at. So with those he'd say "Go ask your mother about that one"

Kitty however is very emotional. She's a hotheaded woman, and would like to speak to your manager because her son asked for no pickles. Kitty's got claws, you don't wanna mess with her. Not going to lie, I would totally see her bragging about how successful her children are. This woman has four children that were doing well in school, and now in their careers. She had high expectations, her children needed be good at school. They come from a family of scientists, how could they fail. She obviously loves her kids, she just wants them to grow up well and not have any struggles later on in life. So she thinks that being strict can help. It's no wonder that pretty much all of them, except for Lazlo are pretty serious. I think maybe with Lazlo she toned it down a bit. As long as he was doing well in school, it was enough. Also can we talk about Glarn's clothes

They're the cund clothes. I think that Vidcund liked his dad's style, so he started dressing like him during high school. Also he thought it made him look hot, and getting the ladies(Circe)

Here is the first gift to show my appreciation for reaching 100 followers. I’ve already teased this one a bunch, it is a 3t2 recreation of Chic Retreat from Lucky Palms. 

My recreation is very faithful to the original, but without TS3's Create-a-Style tool and it's limitless coloring, I was at the mercy of TS2 textures, and those of the 3t2 CC objects that were essential for this recreation. I couldn't quite match the medium wood tone in a way that made me happy, so I switched the doors and windows and garage to black. Boring, I know, but easiest to work with.

The layout is still very open, and the furniture choices are expensive and intentionally a little incoherent.  The backyard should be where you have the most fun. I actually downsized the TS3 version (so much extra, empty space, the EA specialty). But even in doing so, I fit a large pool, grill, table, chess, bar, hot tub, and pool slide. This is truly the place to party in the summer.

Light CC included but the 3t2 objects are absolutely required for the lot to look the same. Comparison pictures to follow in another post!
