no because when they meet john doesn't trust charlie and charlie doesn't believe john and billy is telling him john is trouble. so there's like this vibe that neither of them knows what to do with. john even acts out and gets a little aggressive with charlie at one point because he thinks sheriff who insists it was an animal attack + is giving me gay feelings = bad news. but then charlie is so soft and open with him and they drink and watch tv and maybe have a little conversation in the kitchen about kids and about being out of their depths with them and maybe charlie casually slips his arm behind him on the couch, john is like oh shit oh fuck. and so he leaves because what else can he do. all he ever does is leave when he doesn't know how to handle something. and afterwards he does think about charlie sometimes, but he knows that charlie is better off far away from him. there hasn't been any new suspicious activity in forks so he thinks charlie is safe. safer than he'd ever be around him.

rip john you would have loved twilight. king died just at the wrong time, he could have swooped in to save charlie from the big bad vampires and wolves in town. but then he probably would have ended up killing edward, thus making charlie hate him (because bella hates him).

WAIT speaking of never shutting up about twilightnatural i just had a thought. prompted by the replies i made on your recent live free or twihard lb. im certain the concept has been discussed already in your secret good season six au (beloved) in fact i know ive seen posts about the blood drinking part but truly. to capitalize on the Themes, the Chekhov’s Gun of it all (I say about a throwaway joke obviously made to make fun of the romantic instead of scary vampires ya teenage girl fiction era you’re watching supernatural and we have Better supernatural genre fiction). with dean specifically calling out the book cover with the vampire watching the love interest/romantic protag sleep as creepy and then thumbing through the book to read aloud an excerpt for no reason. “he could hear the blood rushing inside her. almost taste it. he tried desperately to control himself. romero knew their love was impossible.” well if cas was in this episode i simply think <3 when the human watched and pursued by vampire becomes the vampire with new uncontrollable lust themselves - very mina bram stoker’s dracula (1992) [the scene where he cuts open his chest and draws her head to him for her to drink <3]

ALSO. to once again twilightnatural. before tmwbk invisible watcher reveals, a scene where dean is asleep in bed with lisa, starts awake, and turns to see a figure in the corner. just standing in watching. he goes for the gun under the bed and immediately points it at the corner, but now it’s clear nothings there. just shadows. and dean wonders if he’s paranoid, if it’s another manifestation of his struggle between The Life and Playing House. of course We Know though :) and then the reveal that cas, known dean sleeping watcher, had been doing just that in the house in the bedroom he shares with lisa (à la aforementioned twilight scene: https://youtu.be/U9ZrNCFzscE)
