Corisande sinks into Y’shtola’s arms, their ears carefully pointed away from her face as they tuck their nose into the curve of her neck. Though their narrow shoulders and rather straight frame give them the appearance of being slight, their height and the long, lean muscles from years of acrobatic machinist training make them a significant presence in her arms. But Y’shtola does not mind—their warm, solid weight pressed her comfortingly into the bed, settling her.

“Turning in for the night, are we?” Y’shtola slips a hand under Corisande’s nightshirt and presses her palm to the warm skin beneath, corners of her lips quirking when they relax even further in her arms. Corisande hums softly, her eyelashes whispering against Y’shtola’s neck as she closes her eyes.

Y’shtola has her answer. She rubs soothing circles into their back and presses a soft kiss between their slowly drooping ears. Their breath glides warm and even across her collarbones, almost tickling. Corisande grows slightly heavier in her arms the further they fall into sleep, and a small, warm delight takes root in Y'shtola, expanding with each rise and fall of their chest against hers.

After sharing a bed for so long now, Y’shtola knows ‘tis no small thing for Corisande to fall asleep so easily. As warm and secure as Y’shtola feels beneath her, Corisande must feel equally as secure in Y’shtola’s arms. 

Y’shtola tucks her smile into their hair, disguised as a gentle kiss, rests her cheek atop their head, and says, “Goodnight, my love. Sleep well.”

17. Tending to an injury/wound/illness cw; brief implication/description of needles (medical, but like the stitching kind not injections)

Idhrien pokes his leg and she frowns.

"What?" Radanir says, sharper than he means.

"Can you feel that?" She pokes again.

He winces. "A little?"

She exhales, shaking her head. "That's as numb as it's going to get."

Idhrien pulls some supplies from her bag, and hands him a leather strap. He scowls, taking it reluctantly. Sure, he may feel stubborn and too argumentative for his own good, but no way in the Reunited Kingdoms is he doing this procedure without said strap.

It goes well for a little bit, but eventually the ointment wears out and she's mid-stitch and he jerks, unintentionally.

"Radanir, hold still." Idhrien's voice is stern and brooks no argument. Fortunately, Radanir had always been one to brook arguments, so he grumbles, shifting.

The Pelennor is bathed in the blood red of the setting sun, and ash drifts through the air. She scowls at him.

He scowls back.

Really, if Candaith were here, he would say that it's extremely childish of him.

But Candaith isn’t here and that hurts, and his leg hurts, and he thinks that he’s allowed to be as childish as he wants.

Faeron rolls his eyes, but Radanir only scowls harder. 

The whole thing hurts, damn it.

He grits his teeth.

The city of the Gondorrim is safe, and Aragorn is safe.

Halbarad would be glad of that.

Smoke still clogs his lungs, and he coughs. Daervunn seems startled by the sound, and he sees the redness in his eyes, it hits Radanir all over again. A very small, very doubtful part of him wonders if it was worth it.

Audrey || is soooooo much fun and did you know for the movie they had up to FIFTY PEOPLE operating the puppet at one time!! Crazy!!!

i think i'm very good at a lot of things 😊 but im particularly proud of my ability to write very detailed and cohesive themes into works, with strong motifs, symbolism and foreshadowing

🌿how does creating make you feel?

it like... gets me to "normal"? maybe it's strange but i feel balanced when i've had enough time to plan and think and write, whereas when i don't have that everything feels sorta out of calibration

my favorite bc i haven’t done anything with yet is that cady absolutely cannot stand being inside especially if she’s upset

even if it’s cold or raining she just has to be outside to calm down and regulate. janis was worried about her getting hypothermia or pneumonia at first and tried to make her come back inside when she found her out there

but eventually she realizes cady gets more upset when she does and jen she lets her stay and sits outside with her. they bring blankets when it’s cold and when they move in together they build a treehouse so they can be outside and safe from the elements at the same time :))

Idk if you’re still answering asks about the fair ithilen verse but I read, like, the whole thing yesterday & it’s so beautiful & sad and happy and ugh I just love all of it!

I’d love to know more about your version of Max, though. We know she spent a while pining for El, and by the time of Hop’s funeral (I think) she has a girlfriend, does that last?

And same with Lucas! Does he find someone to make him happy? Are he and Max still good friends? Do they ever find their way back to eachother?

Also, very looking forward to the Jargyle instalment, I think they’re just too cute and love the way ye both write, so it’s a win-win!

Max!! Our baby girl!! She and Lucas will love each other until they dieeeeeee they just have such a deep bond. Not one that necessarily means they can or want to be together romantically, and they both go their separate ways before they’re far out of their early 20s. Not to disagree with my man Murray, but sometimes the shared trauma isn’t what binds you together, sometimes you need to figure out who and what your relationship is without it there at the center.

This is another thing I haven’t specifically talked about with @greenlikethesea so let’s see if we’re being Same Brain again but like—I think Max doesn’t love easily, baby girl is GUARDED, so when she does it’s very serious, it’s for keeps. I think goth girlfriend Claire is for good. She can take Max’s spiky edges and dish em right back to her, and cares for Max on her bad days without Max ever feeling pitied or pitiable, and she makes Max laugh so, so much.

Lucas likewise finds someone rad! He has a little baby daughter of his own and a beautiful family. Again this is not @greenlikethesea approved but I think he has a family full of girls, and Erica gleefully is the worst best aunt and gives them all the inside tips in how to torture their dad. It’s so so so unfair.

6. "What did you think of Zhan Tiri as the Big Bad?"

In love!!!! When you actually consider her canon actions, you realize she actually wasn't that threatening at all. In fact she was extremely weak during... Basically all of season 3, except in Once a Handmaiden when she actually, effectively manipulated Cassandra's actions, and in the finale, when she had the Sundrop and Moonstone. But even then she was easily defeated by the unmistakable power of Friendship (also referred to me as "Bullshit, In This Particular Scenario.")

Her voice actress and the way she was animated absolutely carried the entire character forward and that combined with the little tidbits of lore we got of her in earlier seasons made her seem like this super interesting character, that while not very threatening in season 3, opened gates for her to be truly evil in fics, as well as partially evil (like Varian—"actually pretty nice at their core, but can and will commit murder if provoked")!

Overall I felt like she was a little disappointing. Season three really did her so, so dirty since, let's be honest, all you really had to do to get rid of her is kick her hard enough. That literal demon was just a blueberry-sized middle school bully that could be curb stomped into defeat. We know she couldn't just change forms before getting the Drops because if she could change forms, then she would've just turned into a snake or a cloud or something and immediately escape Cassandra's little cage ("I've been in far worse prisons" is SUCH A LINE to me) instead of using Varian's acid solution on the ground and go plummeting down what I assume is pretty high ground.

I might've even forgiven her overall lack of danger if her defest wasn't so anti-climatic, but alas...

Still, I personally really like it when a character is just undeveloped enough that I can pick them up and make them grow out in whatever direction I want. Zhan Tiri became just that, which honestly is a flaw of the show considering she shouldn't be underdeveloped at all, being the intended "Big Bad", but I'll take what I can get heheheh

pine 5: Does your OC believe it is better to burn out than to fade away?  Or do they perhaps pretend to believe this, when actually they would be quite happy to retire peacefully one day?

Cori would definitely love to retire one day. They don’t think it’s better at all to burn out. They want to be able to travel and study and maybe some day have a little place where they can tend to their garden and their chocobos without having to save the day all the time. Whether or not they would actually be able to do that depends on how much they are needed, they won’t be completely disappearing so long as the Warrior of Light is still needed.

ivy 4: Does your OC feel any abiding connection to their place of birth?  Has this ever been challenged by conflicting loyalties?  How are they viewed by those currently living in their society of origin?

Hmm sort of. Cori was born in Valnain, a port city in Dalmasca, before it was occupied by the Garleans. They left when they were very young with their mom, who spent most of her life there, for their father’s former village in the Golmore Jungle which was very removed from the rest of the kingdom of Dalmasca and didn’t really concern itself with the imperials.

But Cori grew up hearing about Valnain and other places her mom went, and so I think there is some love and connection there still, even if it’s a bit secondhand. She certainly still loves the sea. And she does feel a need to contribute to free Dalmasca from the occupation, not just because she’s the WoL but because that’s her home, her parents home.

I do think though they have a more personal connection to and abiding love for the forest they grew up in, and it did break their heart a little bit when they left knowing they would never be welcome there again. And like. many people in their village were unkind to them while they lived there but there were others who were kind, and Cori is very grateful they got to grow up so connected to nature and animals. I think after they left the people in their village were not surprised, because the last person who left was their dad 30 or so years before. Maybe it inspired some others to see what was out there as well! Also, I kinda don’t think anyone there knows about Cori being the WoL 😂 I’m just not sure that news makes it back to the village!

7. What is their favourite movie, or a movie they would really enjoy?

Sae would 10000000% ADORE Kiki’s Delivery Service, i know this in my bones. A lot of how Kiki feels about flying is how Sae feels about sailing, and also Kiki is very close to the age Sae was when she was sent to Bree so she’d really relate to the emotional aspect of the story. (also she would love the track ‘a town with an ocean view’)

18. What is their favourite hobby? Would they share it with someone they love?

Surprise surprise, the answer is sailing!!! By a long shot and she absolutely loves sharing it with people she loves. A close second is collecting and giving friends seashells + other misc things that washed up on shore.

24. How do they relax? Is that a solitary activity, a group activity, or both?

If she’s really anxious or stressed, she has this piece of twine that’s maybe a foot long and she goes to town tying knots. (One time, during the Epic probably, it was dark and the twine had been misplaced and she accidentally tied knots into someone’s bootlaces.)

But in a more “what she does after work ™” or something, probably reading, or if it’s late enough, looking at the stars. The latter two could theoretically be group activities but she does them solitary more often than not.
