breaking news: surprising absolutely no one, pik has fallen in love with the fast paced fps game where the big, silent badass of a main character's sole goal is to protect the small, squishy innocents.

#lines i did #roboquest #i love this game its great #the writing is so goofy and i cant quite tell if its intentional or of its bc they dont have an actual writer on their team but eith #either way its simple and silly and i love it #not to mention its very vague and leaves plenty of space for potential worldbuilding... #and the animations range from wonderfully clean and snappy; like the reload animations for each weapon and the enemies movement animations #to 'lets just obscure the boss under esplosion textures and lower it under the floor so we dont actually have to animate it exploding' and #its still hilarious to watch every time #music is DAMN GOOD #gameplay is comparable to modern doom #a little rougher around the edges but hey its an indie studio not a triple a and theyre still working on it #npc designs are DELIGHTFUL. why does the robot wear a fake mustach. why does the robot with a single optic wear a normal pair of goggles. #they have so much character despite none of them uttering a single word ever #except for max i guess; she has dialogue. but shes also Literally The Only Human In The Game so like. she gets a pass. #anyway more of my mutuals should buy it so we can co-op it together. #(mutuals if u buy it let me know id be 100% down to co-op it with u)

haven’t been on much bc my dog has been sick :( between seizures and an infected tooth we’ve been having a Time trying to get everything fixed (this started around the holidays so our vet has been very booked up…we have been like 3-4 times in the past 4-5 weeks OTL does not help it’s like an hour drive there, so that’s been exhausting) now his new seizure meds are making him sick (was hoping it was like, just an adjustment period thing but he’s been sick for a week and having concerning symptoms…) if I’m not on a ton or slow to replying to messages it’s bc I’m working as much overtime as my job will give me bc Vet Expensive and mentally drained obvi 😞

the problem is I hate advertising Deadloch as The Gay Show bc it’s possibly the best show I’ve ever seen and so just saying “well it’s got gays so. Watch it.?” feels like an insult esp since you sort of forget it’s gay halfway thru bc the story is what really draws interest but also like half the stuff I want to say is Major Spoilers. So.

GuyS PLESSE watch it it’s so good I can’t spoil but the pacing is insane, the buildup is amazing, the slow peeling back of the onion is SO GOOD and makes you want to watch it more than once just to catch stuff you didn’t see before bc the first time watching you’re gonna be too caught up in the story to think about it. When I first watched it I didn’t even notice really obvious stuff or even the jokes bc I felt like I was living the story with the characters, like. Like it made me Feel Things. It has really good messaging that I don’t usually see in media at all, it’s funny, the characters are so well written like they feel like Real People more than I can say for literally anything else I’ve seen, the conflict is well done, the show doesn’t treat you like you’re stupid and it doesn’t ever stretch out anything to fill time bc it doesn’t have to. The mystery is really compelling, so many scenes gave me real chills which is awesome, the music used is PERFECT. It doesn’t take itself too seriously but it knows when to be respectful of a scene or character. The cinematography is great, the camera framing is a character of its own. the writing is incredibly good, everything feels (and probably is) intentional, there’s only 8 episodes so it’s not a huge commitment if you’re worried about that. BASICALLY PLS WATCH IT.
