Keep seeing "Why isn't M9 dealing with the solstice instead? Bells Hells don't deserve to be."

Matt implied that Uka'toa was free again during the live show (all the sea animals coming to shore in Nicodranas, which is symptom #1 of the Snea Snakes return if you remember the reunion episodes) so I have a feeling the M9 rushed off to deal with that after dealing with with Trent.

Plus any other big bads that may have gotten free that need to be dealt with again.

They're on damage control.

Also, quite frankly, this is Bells Hells campaign. Let them do what they need to do and tell the story Matt is trying to tell. If you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you. Don't watch it I guess?

please could we hear your thoughts about moral purity ocd fjord?

YES YOU MAY

basically the whole of fjord's identity is being like vandran rather than himself. an idealized view of what a "good person" should be that completely eclipses who he is and tends to put you in blinders. it's a loss of his identity that he's convinced himself he needs to be a "good person" in a both human and elven dominated society. we see a lot of this with him trying to be "the leader" and be on top of everything in the group early on, and when he can't fully control the situation and be that good person, he tends to snap or get agitated quick.

so uka'toa is the manifestation of this guilt, of giving in and simply being a "monster" that society has deemed him to be. uka'toa is quite literally a force of nature that cannot be stopped or reasoned with and can only be stopped by the person taking control. and of course with the help of jester, beau, and cad (and melora) he gets it under control and ends up in a much better place.

i still think he's got compulsions after the fact (like making sure all the shipments are in order about a dozen times over and over again, checking his cloven crystal scar) but yeah. i just think he's neat.

i have... three ideas for how athel's involved in the group hdywtdt;

-idea number one (when she had more levels of ranger) - uses grasping vine to hold uka'toa down

-idea number two - similar to what vex did in that group hdywtdt; she shoots an arrow into the bottom of uka'toa's jaw and another arrow through the crown of his head

-idea number three - she marks the mighty nein's symbol into uka'toa's side either with one of her arrows or her shortsword like how he marked fjord with his symbol

Reading the Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount and 

“Those of Ki’Nau (worshipers of Uka’toa) descent often make offerings to Melora, considering her a collective entity that represents their ancient nature gods within a singular feminine form.”

Just, it’s small, but another connection between Uka’toa and Melora and I love every single one, no matter how small or vague.
