Amanita Szarr, theory and history:

-We know that she was the niece of Cazador, summoned to him at 13 and forcibly turned into a vampire (vampire spawn? It’s never confirmed if she’s a true vampire or a spawn).

-It’s said her entire extended family was there, watching as he summoned and turned her. It’s mentioned somewhere that she lived out of the city in a country estate, raised by her servants. Her parentage is unknown, though clearly one of them was the sibling of Cazador, since Amanita is his niece by blood.

-She resisted at first, being locked away in the attic for a year before she eventually gave in to drinking human blood out of starvation, resulting in her killing and drinking a captive that was sent up there.

-This is when she rejected the Szarr name, and declared herself “Lady Incognita”, hiding her past likely out of guilt, and disgust for what they’d made her.

-She stayed in the attic by choice after this, and wrote her “little histories” as she called them.

-Amanita/Incognita was turned in 1477, the game takes place in 1492. It’s been 15 years since she was turned, though considering vampires don’t age—she’s still a 13 year old.

-She’s responsible for the books “Diseses of the Blood”, “The Tourmaline Depths”, and “Vampires before Vellioth”.

-These books are about diseases that vampires can get, ancient tunnels below the city, and a list of vampires that came before Vellioth (Cazador’s former Master).

-Bonus fun fact, there is in fact a random ring called “Tourmaline Ring” in BG3. The ring doesn’t have any function, and I was able to locate it for sale at a vendor in act 1, but it’s still an interesting coincidence.

-Her book “diseases of the blood” can be located in the House of Hope, though she’s very clearly not among the souls there, so it’s unknown how it arrived to such a place.

Potential Theories on what happened to her:

-In the ballroom of the palace, there are two doors. The door to the kitchen is open, and the ladder here leads to the attic where you can find the multiple hidden doors that contain the rooms Amanita stayed in (for at least most of her years), as well as the torture room she was turned(?) or at least kept in for awhile.

-The dining room is closed off. The only way to access this is to send a companion into the kitchen to hit a button. This button closes off the kitchen door, and opens the dining room.

-Considering there aren’t any bodies in the kitchen, and the only servants in the house are in other rooms nowhere near the ballroom, it’s clear that someone had to open/close the door.

-There are bodies in the dining room, all of which were guests summoned to the party that evening. One of them was “hired” to play music, but Cazador’s werewolves brutally murdered all the party guests.

-It was definitely not Cazador or the other spawn responsible for opening/closing doors. By the time you get to the palace, it’s ritual night—and all the other spawn are captive in the basement with Cazador, awaiting the final piece (Astarion) to complete it.

-It’s possible that Amanita is the one responsible for controlling the doors at the party, though unconfirmed if she killed anyone (it seems more likely the job of the werewolves).

-Could Amanita have been sent down to be the “host” of the party, since Cazador obviously wasn’t around to play fake-noble for the day? It’s unclear, but I do suspect she (might) have been connected.

-In the dining room you can move the fancy chest to find a hatch to another part of the basement. Noticeable here is that Astarion doesn’t have any voice lines about this as he does the other one, though it’s safe to assume he also doesn’t know this existed (and when were the Spawn ever allowed in the dining room anyway?)

-The basement here leads to a very famously broken puzzle, that no one has solved (supposedly support says it’s broken, hoping it’s fixed one day soon).

-The key to this hatch is found in the attic, so it’s safe to assume Amanita was connected to this too? However without confirmation, it’s hard to say for sure. And would you really go through a puzzle that hard just to find her corpse if she was dead? Doubtful, in my opinion.

-It doesn’t seem that she’s one of the spawn connected to the ritual. She never mentions any of it in her writings, and some of her earlier attic notes very clearly detest Cazador, so she’s not holding back her emotions/thoughts at all.

-She was also allowed, and given human blood. None of the seven original spawn were fed human blood, and none of the seven thousand spawn were fed at all. She was likely only given this treatment because she was his niece.

-I don’t believe she escaped the palace in general, even with her book in the House of Hope. I feel like Raphael would’ve said something about knowing a Szarr, or we would’ve found more than a book tossed in a pile.

-Talks of escape were usually noted in the palace, with Leon (one of the spawn) having been plotting in a journal to have his daughter escape, but she was inevitably killed before this could happen.

-Amanita never discusses leaving. She seems like she feels as though she can’t be normal ever again with what was done to her, and chooses to stay there so she doesn’t have to face the world.

-I believe (perhaps in delusion) that Amanita is still alive. Perhaps she’s hidden away in the basement. Perhaps she’s hiding in an unknown part of the castle, truly we don’t know—but I do believe she’s alive.

-Side Note: It was a theory that she could’ve been turned into a scroll, as there’s a scroll in the palace that mentions “for my sins, I’m ink on this page until you free me”, however it’s not signed. Amanita/Incognita was very clear on signing her work, and the scroll isn’t anything you can use/interact with, so this theory is largely since debunked.

kacy i wanna know how much of a perv you think daniel is LOL so much fic centers on armand dragging him through an experience *armand* wants. so like what's the ratio of daniel being a freak in his nature (and knowing this about himself) vs armand nurturing this trait into him?

My friend, I’m so glad you asked.

THE THING IS IVE GIVEN THIS A LOT OF THOUGHT and in some ways it’s like, what all of my Devil’s Minion fics are about LOL. And yet! I don’t have a simple answer to this question, the way real questions of nature vs nurture are complicated in the real world in real people!

But let me sketch out a framework of the way I’ve questioned this, and everyone might come to different conclusions and that’s the fun of fandom, because there can exist several thousand versions of Daniel based on the same text! AND I KNOW YOU KNOW THIS STUFF, I HOPE IT DOESN’T COME OFF AS MANSPLAINING LMAO but I’m excited to talk about this topic.

Here’s what we know unequivocally from the text:

Daniel is 20 years old in IWTV.

That’s it, that’s the whole list.

And here’s some fanon that people often try to extrapolate from the text:

💦 That he met Louis at a gay bar. UNCONFIRMED, but I think it’s likely? In the short story the bar is named the Pink Baby, I think that might be a gay bar or a dick reference idk lol.

💦 Whether or not the Pink Baby was a gay bar, he and Louis essentially cruised each other and left the bar together! Daniel has the excuse that he’s hunting for interviews for his job, Louis has the excuse that he’s an apex predator who preys on people, but ? Take this wherever you need to. (Also blah blah Ricean biting=sex symbolisms.)

💦 Was Daniel bisexual outside of the assumption that most of the VC characters are bisexual/omnisexual? The only clue we get is that when he and Armand practice voyeurism, he hooks up with men and women. There’s a lot of interesting information packed into the voyeurism paragraph, like this line: Yet he lay empty afterwards, staring at Armand, resentful, cold. and I’ve seen the “resentful, cold” comment dissected many times in fandom. Is it the general resentment of their whole relationship? Is it because he wants to fuck Armand and not randos? Is it because he only wants the Blood? Does he not consent to being used like a zoo animal? Is he gay and doesn’t want to fuck women? Is he straight (minus the orientation-defying vampire attraction) and doesn’t want to fuck men? I’ve seen all kinds of takes on this LOL. But still, no real definitive answer about his orientation in the text.

💦 What did the “roaming the bars of the world” comment mean? Sometimes I read Anne Rice’s language as being kinda lofty and exaggerated but was he ACTUALLY traveling the WHOLE WORLD or is he hyping up that he trolled bars in the Bay Area? Is he FROM the Bay Area or was it a stop in his travels? He worked for a radio station (not in the book, but mentioned in the short story + The Vampire Companion and The Alphabettery) so did he live here, even if he traveled a lot? Was he wealthy before vampires if he was traveling this much, if you think he was a traveler?

AND AFTER ALL THAT, here’s some extra questions where Daniel is FREE REAL ESTATE that every fan has the freedom to make the fuck up:

💦 How much sexual experience did he have at 20? Do we assume that by default as an Anne Rice character he probably had ample teenage sexual experiences, and if he did, is there a quality over quantity aspect to consider? Is the sex we have as teenagers like, all that to write home about LMAO. Do we really understand kinks yet, or do we need to grow up and gain some perspective first?

💦 As an Anne Rice character, by default, do we assume he & everything else is sexually charged LOL, are the interviews and cruising and taking people home a code for bringing partners home? What percentage of his interviews were also hookups?

💦 When we talk about nature vs nurture for kinkiness, how micro and macro is this? As a fellow Off the Cuffs fan I know you understand the “radioactive spider bite into kink” concept, and some kinks are so specific to our experiences. But BEING KINKY in itself IS nature, isn’t it? I’ve read some sex & kink theory that kink is (psychologically) more like an innate orientation. IE: in the way you can be straight or gay, some people are also by default turned on by being smacked or by whatever paraphilia. Whatever that thing is, the way it takes shape, is the nurture half. But like, many people can have the same experience and 99% of them don’t develop a paraphilia right? So I think that capability exists in kinky folks at all times, especially when so many of the radioactive spider bites are things that people discover in childhood. ANYWAY I RANTED but I say that to say; DANIEL MOLLOY IS A MONSTERFUCKER, IWTV IS THE PROOF THAT HE IS A MONSTERFUCKER. IT WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME.

So I bring up all those questions to encourage everyone to make up their own story with this, but I’ll tell you where I personally landed and how I approach it in my fics!!!

The Daniel in MY OWN fics is 20, single child, estranged from his parents, dropped out of college because he didn’t have ADHD support and was struggling, bisexual and promiscuous! I wonder if he went through that like college freshman thing where he got out of his parents house for the first time and partied a little too hard because he COULD! I like to read “bars of the world” as an exaggeration, I like to think he was a normal guy NOT globe hopping, sticking to the Bay Area, maybe he was out there for college, and guess what! There’s a thriving gay liberation culture there, so he finds some safe spaces to experiment with that!

However, I think the text leaves space to think he didn’t have a lot of close friends, or wasn’t close with his family, due to the way that he simply ✨fucks off ✨ after IWTV. NOW, that’s just me! Because there’s potential here for a TRAGEDY of people looking for him or grieving him! But idk I just like thinking that he was already on the outs and the interview pushed him over the edge.

So I ask like, does the 20 year old have a ton of kink experience? Is he good at sex? WHAT DOES RESENTFUL, COLD MEAN? Was he celibate during the chase years? Are the voyeurism sessions the first time he’s had sex since his old life? Even if he had random hookups during the chase years, was this qualitatively good sex? Can you truly get into good BDSM on a hookup or do you need a trusted partner? (This is subjective, idk, but!)

Also, how much kink is theoretical and private (to masturbate to) vs stuff you actually try? Especially if we believe that kink is nature, someone isn’t less kinky if they’re celibate, the way someone isn’t less gay if they’re celibate, or even a virgin. As Daniel becomes more and more obsessed with vampires, and with Armand, does it take over how he jerks off? Does he think about getting bitten? HE LIKES SNUGGLING WITH DEAD THINGS.

So like, there IS an element of Daniel being the unwilling witness of Armand’s rapidly shifting hyperfixations, and it’s natural that fandom pervs would extend that to sex acts and kinks. I LOVE IT, yes! It makes sense.

But when you say like, which one of them is in charge, I wonder if it’s relevant if we assume Daniel enjoys it. (Does he? Would he? Resentful, cold?)

Here’s some points that come to mind when I imagine it as purely Armand’s doing:

💦 People sometimes misunderstand BDSM dynamics when it comes to power and control, because BDSM is a consensual fantasy between two adults. The sub is just as in control, because they allow it. In that sense: Do we believe Armand respects Daniel’s consent? Would he force Daniel to participate if he wasn’t enjoying himself?

🩸 (How much can we compare this to Venice and how Armand was prepared for vampirism? I’m putting this in parentheses bc I’m putting a pin in this one, I CANNOT ADD A SUB-ESSAY INTO THIS POST ABOUT COMPARING VENICE TO DEVILS MINION but thinking of this too. Returning to the under-negotiated kink in Venice and how much is diegetic to the text, how does experiencing a spectrum of sexuality benefit someone’s last years alive ((sub-parentheses: does Armand flip-flop on turning Daniel as much as Marius did with Armand, does Armand subliminally know he’ll turn Daniel one day, does he go through these experiences as a precursor to turning Daniel eventually?)) are these experiences more for Armand to process the way he was groomed for asexual immortality vs being purely selfless and for Daniel’s benefit?)

💦 Armand uses Daniel as his usher into the modern age, and is it fair to assume he could sense Daniel’s kinkiness and knew that this was the person for him?

💦 How dubious is Daniel’s consent here? How addicted to Armand’s Blood is he by the time they start fucking around? Is he already within the throes of Ricean Omnisexuality where he’s down for whatever? Does the Blood influence this as well? Is there a secret subliminal violence creeping into your body when you’ve been drinking it again and again? What about less violent kinks, like your feederism fic? Does the Blood encourage all types of excess and consumption???

But if DANIEL is the driving force here, I still must consider:

💦 He meets Armand and his life essentially ends when he’s 20 years old. Was he really self-aware of his kinks? Did he know himself very well sexually yet?

💦 While exploring kinks can be mutually beneficial by sating Armand’s need for WEIRD HUMAN STUFF, maybe it IS something Daniel wants. It’s something he’s missing out on, because he checked out of regular human life when he was 20. Like, everyone’s different, so, I’m not saying that people can’t be sexually articulate at 20, but I know I fucking wasn’t! And I personally never fucked anyone that age who was good at it LMAO. So like how old would Daniel have been before he experimented enough to really know what he liked, and how much of him getting to know his sexuality involved Armand during the next decade?

💦 And this ties into Armand being his sugar daddy! That’s canon! Armand is his sugar daddy! If Daniel, at 28 years old, starts lamenting “I wish I’d gotten the chance to try watersports when I still had a normal life :( “ wouldn’t Armand have arranged that for him?

🩸 (Again let’s talk about Venice and what did Armand learn there about being the vampire lover, how much does he process and repeat on Daniel, and for whose benefit?)

💦 If Daniel is an innately kinky person, and realizes as he’s approaching 30 that he never really got to explore it properly, wouldn’t Armand usher him through that experience? Even if Armand didn’t plan to turn him, I wonder if he saw the window of Daniel’s mortal experience closing, maybe he worried that this is the type of thing people need to be wild about while they’re still so young. And outside of stigmatizing Daniel's age, it's also about how he was becoming less and less healthy, dying of alcoholism at 32, so there was a small window here for them to have sex adventures.

So basically, I’m saying that the nature half feels very much like Daniel being a monsterfucker, the nurture half is the actual experiences he got to have. And I don’t think he’d be in this situation in the first place if he wasn’t a bit of a monsterfucker, and wasn't a innately into danger and pain. Like, we don’t get a TON of examples but Gretchen and Babette didn’t try to fuck vampires! We know that vampires give humans the heebie jeebies! What kind of sick fuck is into that?!?!?!?

I don’t really have one single answer here. When it comes to the large library of kinks I think either of them can be blamed, and I also think it 100% makes sense to use Armand as a vehicle to write fic about them as if they’re another collection of human oddities for him to explore. But even using Armand’s weird bullshit to process that doesn’t mean it’s not mutually beneficial, and I think it gets into a fuzzier area that’s up to the writer when it comes to their take on the relationship, how dubious the consent is, how much do they actually like each other and get along? Can it be mutually beneficial in the end even if one person is driving? (see: the conversation about the second whipping scene in TVA and how it works out in the end.) Is it something they have fun agreeing to and negotiating in advance?

I can totally see how someone might write this as a fun thing that they talk about beforehand as easily as it could be Armand forcing mystery adventure on Daniel and suddenly he’s tied up in some shitty apartment in Hells Kitchen with some man pissing on him, and did he ever even reveal this kink to Armand or did Armand pull it out of his head?

The ship dynamic is so fucked up and coercive and resentful and toxic, even though there is real love here, so there’s this whole spectrum to use when you build your fanworks and headcanons!!!!!!! AND LIKE

IF IT’S COERCIVE AND FUCKED UP, DOES IT DRIVE THEM FURTHER APART OR BRING THEM CLOSER TOGETHER? IS DANIEL RESENTFUL AND COLD AND DOES THIS CAUSE FIGHTS? IS THIS A WAY FOR THEM TO PROCESS SOME OF THEIR COLDNESS AND RESENTMENT BECAUSE THEY AREN’T GOOD COMMUNICATORS? DO THEY DO BETTER AFTER THESE SESSIONS AND FEEL CLOSER BECAUSE THEY BROKE THROUGH SOMETHING NEITHER OF THEM KNEW HOW TO SAY?

Gosh idk.

Anyway I apologized in the beginning for mansplaining but I also want to apologize for this non answer LMFAO. I hope it doesn’t feel like a cop-out to not have a real answer, it’s just that I think there is such a rich context with a MENAGERIE of possibility !!!!!!!

In the upcoming codex update, there will be an entry about Vampirism that sheds some light on how the curse can spread. There have been, though very few, documented cases of Daywalkers conceiving. However, other types remain unconfirmed, including Revenants.

The Warden being a virgin is something I intend to add, but I wanted to complete Part One first and think more about 'how'. I'm glad I did because not long ago, someone suggested making vices into checkboxes to allow more 'pick and choose'. I like this idea! There are some gameplay things I want to consider fully before doing this, however. Regardless, I will be starting this process after the Codex update.

Max is confirmed to be American, based on his accent, although it is not confirmed where exactly he is from.

Max managed to entice Evan's girlfriend at college into bed with him. It's not confirmed if it was a one-off or if they had a relationship behind Evan's back. Later, Max makes a quip about doing it again with Amanda.

Although Max's plan to replace the workers in the office with vampires is dastardly, its evident he cares about getting results from a good workforce so the business can thrive. He praises himself on his own management skills stating "my management style is effective! And refreshing."

The vampire effect seems to take place very quickly. Max invites Dave into his office to discuss office pools, and then seemingly, a few moments later, he emerges as a fully turned vampire.

The janitor Gerry seems to be the first vampire turned victim of Max.

It appears Max doesn't turn Amanda right away so he can use it as a reason to torment Evan, possibly out of revenge for him having to go to Romania and subsequently being turned into a Vampire himself, even though Max had ample opportunity to turn her when he was at Amanda's place.

It appears Max can eat human food and drink, as he comments to Evan he enjoyed some of Amanda's Osso Bucco (beef) dish, and that they should open another bottle of red wine.

Max's vampire look consists of a heavy set brow, eyes that have red sclera's, prominent veins in the face under the eyes and neck and deep set eye sockets.

Max doesn't use any conventional weapons, such as a gun, instead he uses his fangs. His fangs appear to protrude from his third canine tooth on each side of his mouth.

One of his weapons appears to be his strength, as he takes some blows without even flinching and is able to snap Ted's neck with quick precision. He is also able to throw people about and pin them with ease.

Max's power of allure is also a weapon he can use to control and manipulate others. It appears he mostly does it using his right hand, with his index and middle finger primed and pointed at their eyes/face.

Never too young to die....

the Vampire/noncanon route - this route is way different focused heavily on vampires and how hide there true identity from humans with the use of products and things that are catered to them to fully fit into society.

with lotion, food, clothing and so much more. they do need to drink blood, human or pig. which with the help of some higher ups in society, it accessible with the help of drinks and ''meat''.

the sun does bother them, but with the help of lotion and certain creams, they become immune to the sun for 24 or 38 hours which gives them alot of time to roam around the world.

there's hybrids, full ones and feral ones. the feral ones are medicated, only to fit in society. thus are more dangerous to approach if pregnant or....

have certain elements to them that makes them vulnerable.

if you fuck a vampire and....get pregnant, you would not know if you are until the last few days or one day....

you'll feel something, crawling out.

No cravings, no mood swings, nothing. technology would not show anything, like there's nothing there.

So it's always necessary to wear condoms when fucking a vampire cause otherwise....

you might end up with a child.

but anyway, here are the people who are vampires and half so far.

Eric singer - not a vampire, but would become the one to supply the reader with blood without not knowing.

Tommy Thayer- half vampire, plus teaches at university.

Shannon - not a vampire but is one of the higher ups that manages the vampire products and also making sure her sister doesn't end up dead from fooling around with certain creatures.

Velvet - full vampire and the lover of Paul and probably....a parent.

Eric carr - N/a

Gene (the twin of Velvet) - not a vampire, but is a bodyguard for Ace who's gotten bitten by a feral and is desperately trying his best to keep it under control.

Ace - Feral, intersex. in this world, he stayed with Paul until he saw how velvet treated him and gaved him everything thus left due to reasons Unknown, but some would say due to drugs or the vampire that bitten him.

Bruce - just a innocent bystander, move along

I'm so confused by how Henry got his powers, so are you under the impression he was born with them and the traumatic experience only unlocked them? Is it not confirmed they come from the mf? Or some of them do? Like his mind reading abilities and the power to assimilate lives into the hive mind

It's definitely not from the Shadow, or Billy would have had the same powers as Henry, and so would Will. And Heather. And the rest of the flayed.

Henry's powers are separate. He can use them even when he's not being controlled by the hive.

Hell, he concocts a whole "Vecna Vision But For Good" thing for Patty when they meet at the church where she's Wonder Woman ("Miss Mystery", specifically, based on the derisive "mystery meat" nickname Walter Henderson gave her re: her parentage), and she's singing in Vegas just like she always dreamed she could/everyone who hurts her is just a side character or is humiliated. It's a whole song and dance number (yeah, Henry sings and dances <3).

He also reads minds when they're at Melvald's having a wonderful, normal time together, no Shadow in sight.

So, imo, he was born with them and either trauma or the blood type change in Dimension X awakened them. Brenner describes Henry's killing/absorbing as a physical thing, much like normal feeding, so I think that's linked to the physical blood type change (see: vampirism).

It remains unconfirmed how, exactly, he began accessing his powers.

I agree with the (still unconfirmed) information about the Monarch Summit is getting released near the end of this year.

What I don't think people realize is the implications of what "Could" happen during it. There's been talk about Quinn's execution taking place during it. (Cause you know.. Having an important matter like that in front of other rival Vampire clans TOTALLY won't go wrong...😓) But also the idea that this will be where Darlin meets Alexis. (Finally giving Sam his Closure Arc while finishing up Darlin's Arc with Quinn's death.)

Don't get me wrong. I'm looking forward to it. I'm just worried about Erik trying to cram too much information into the videos. Plus it's highly likely that William will hire Shaw Security to handle the event. (Meaning even more characters to work into the plot.)

We still have so many unanswered questions about the Vampire Characters involved already (Like the whole bit on Lovely's powers and how they are handling the loss. Or if Lovely has gotten to feed from a human yet? How's he going to work Fredrick and Brighteyes into the storyline Without making it a convoluted mess? Ect) as well as knowledge gaps about if there are other types of Shifters in this world. (Vincent mentioned a Bat shifter once but that could have just been him making a joke.)

There's just so many questions and very little answers. He's currently uploading "Slice of life" content rather than giving us the information we need for the story. 🤷‍♀️

MagiRevo Volume 4 Thoughts

Today, I just finished reading the fourth novel for MagiRevo. The full title for those not in the know is The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady by Piero Karasu. I got into this series because of the anime, which I recommend for how explicitly and shamelessly gay it is.

Both Volume 3 and anime end with the two protagonists declaring their love for each other and in a relationship, so I’ve been eager to see what’s next for them, especially with the other changes in their lives. Volume 4 is much more calmer than the previous volumes. To sum it up, this is about Anis finally getting the chance to introduce her magical tools to the public and the inevitable change this will bring about, both good and ill. But also there’s a lot of women loving women, and I’m not just talking about the titular couple.

First off, got to say I enjoyed the prologue where it’s just Anis and Euphie’s morning routine. It’s funny how the dynamic has changed since they became lovers with Anis internally calling Euphie things like “cute little imp” and “brazen, mischievous little demon”, but describing her that way affectionly.

I know Anis needs new assistants but it’s still feels wrong to imagine that role being filled by someone other than Euphie.

I have to say, there is something about the mental image of Duke Grantz speed-typing away on keyboard while chuckling like a man possessed. It took me a little while to figure out exactly why everyone was stressing out so much. If you make a workaholic more efficient, it doesn’t mean they finish their work faster, it means they simply end up doing more work, which in this case, means more work for everybody else.

No climatic battle for this volume but after getting blasted by Euphie’s rainbow magic, Anis deserved a chance to show off a little.

Lainie getting a lot of marriage proposals makes perfect sense. Even without the politics and vampiric powers, she’s just so lovely and kind.

I like how one of Ilia’s proposed solutions to Lainie’s problem is to do an Anis and be gay. That’s apparently the go-to solution in this series, just be as gay as possible.

We didn’t get enough Tilty this volume. Maybe she’s getting tired of being a third/fifth wheel all the time.

I was thinking how wonderful it is that for her birthday gala, to have spirits manifest physically for Anis who has never been able to sense them despite how much she loved magic and wanted to use it.

Seriously, one of the most hilarious things in this volume is Euphie using her coronation speech to declare her love for Anis and making out with her in front of everyone. I imagined their relationship would be like an open secret within the Kingdom, everyone assuming they’re lovers but it being unconfirmed and behind closed doors. I was not expecting Euphie to declare it publicly the moment she became Queen. You’d think I’d already learned my lesson not to underestimate her by now.

I may be a villain enthusiast but I will cheer when this man gets punched- who's ready to hear about Jeremiah? {Spoiler-Free}

Much like the events of Sept 16, it's a bit tricky to talk about J without delving into Spoilers- but! I've kept my mouth shut, and will only talk about what the other players know about.

[Note: please take all of this- especially his described personality- with a grain of salt; while I did create him as a character, he's also an NPC that is being further developed by the ST, and I don't mean to step on the ST's toes or hype up J's character too much with this post; I just like talking about him.] @mountainashfae

So.

Jeremiah is Leo's sire, and a very mysterious one at that.

Most of what we knows about his motives and past are speculation, though I have a bit more information than the rest of the players due to a vision Leo received in Episode Four. (Out-of-game, I let the other players know that the ep4 Vision sort of confirmed one of our theories: the one stating that Harrison, the coterie's current boss, is Leo's grand-sire. Since it's partially right, this means it's very likely that he and Jeremiah know each other.)

Jeremiah is charismatic, arrogant, and fond of being the center of attention as a form of control; Though he'd probably seem nice, actually, or at least until he realizes his tricks aren't working. He never quite apologizes over large mistakes and/or actions, often just leaving until it all blows over and acting like nothing happened; Maybe a gift to try and make things better, but never an apology.

It's been mentioned out-of-canon he fidgets a lot- not in a nervous way, just excess energy [like finger-tapping, for instance]. He also has a speaking quirk, adding "yeah?" to the end of his sentences, maybe to emphasize them or to make sure you're listening- who knows. ["Let's try that again, yeah?"]

Additional facts provided by the ST (albeit in a half-joking manner) is that he likes baseball and knows how to speak Spanish, but refused to let Leo know what any of it meant. There is also currently a running joke in the chronicle that Pauline, one of Leo's coterie members, is going to run him over with her car- or least attempt to hurt him, at the very least. It's been stated that the two of them probably wouldn't like each other, due to how similar they are.

Jeremiah seems to be an Anarch, having been heard calling other vampires licks, and doesn't seem fond of the Camarilla- Leo claims to have overheard him complaining about them before.

Jeremiah spent a lot of time in San Jose- though it's unconfirmed if he's originally from there- and the ST stated that he used to feed from people sleeping in alleyways until, and I quote, "he realized he was too good for that."

Being a Sandman predator like Leo, his current and preferred method of feeding is getting his targets intoxicated- probably almost to the point of passing out- before promising to take them home, only to feed off of them instead (Does he even send them home??).

This is absolutely made worse by the fact he's a bartender. This man does this to his own patrons. [The fact he even does this also implies that Jeremiah himself is a bit of an alcoholic, since vampires get the effects of the drugs their victims take, and I have many thoughts about this. What's up, man, why are you like this.]

Throughout the relationship(???) with Leo, he would occasionally leave for a few days or more- (whether it was for vampire-related reasons or not for all of the times he left are unknown, given his habit of just Leaving instead of apologizing)- and, of course, he manipulated Leo's memories. J has a handful of nicknames to refer to his childe by, with the most common one being doll. [However I am just now considering the implications of this in tandem with the Dominate discipline]

In Episode Three, Leo informs his sister that he broke up with J. It's unconfirmed if this is true.

Leo stated to the coterie that Jeremiah sent him away to San Jose, and didn't elaborate any further- one of the players speculates that J's decision here was a way to try and protect Leo, as Chicago is a Camarilla-run city; an unauthorized Embrace, especially one by an Anarch, surely wouldn't be welcome. Leo has attempted to defend his sire's actions.

While his childe is determined to stay silent about what happened on Sept 16 and the Time Gap that followed, it's possible Jeremiah might have some words about it.

Currently, he resides in Chicago; He seems to be kept busy dealing with the aftermath of Sept 16, as well as whatever else he's planning, and so far has not called Leo or anything of the sorts to check up on him. It's been implied out-of-game that he's connected to the Cobweb and might be keeping an eye on Leo through it, however this statement is unconfirmed in-canon.

It's established that Jeremiah will eventually make an appearance in Blood and Silicon, but none of us know when he's going to show up...
