Well. That’s a rather… complicated subject matter. To make a long story short, they masqueraded as a Pokémon Rights group while in actuality they were doing more harm (to Pokémon & Humans alike) than good. They were trying to revive the Unovan Legendaries, Reshiram & Zekrom, to have control over the region. They were defeated and disbanded, but an offset of the group formed and 4 years later came back full swing, this time trying to fuse Reshiram & Zekrom to make the legendary Pokémon Kyurem. In the process, they hurt a lot of people, and froze a whole town- Opelucid- which caused severe damage to the structural integrity of their buildings, leading to collapses that injured many people, me being one of them. I am not sure your level of access to television but there is a documentary called “Plasma: The Cold & The Cruel” that gives some good insight and goes into more detail, though mind the trigger warnings.
