Do you ever think about how Aelwulf is always stuck dealing with the consequences of Edred's actions?

He had to deal with the kingdom descending into strife and a war because of Edred, how he had to see their father decide to basically die because of the grief he caused, how he had to give up his own body and inhabit Edred's old body just to make sure the Kingdom could have a ruler and so Edred could go fulfill his oath to Unicorn?

Being Aelwulf is a thankless and suffering existence.

UWE Aelwulf and S/O. Where the S/O was the elf bride that Edred was to be married to. But the S/O was in on his plan as they didn't want to get married to him either since they liked Aelwulf and was just acting to be distraught. But since he was the second born son, their father wouldn't stand for their union especially after the war broke out.

(Also as a bonus can we see the aftermath of the S/O finding out that Aelwulf took Edred's place.)

After the so-called wedding, you met up with Aelwulf as soon as OG Edred flew off. Ecstatic at the possibilities you two have together, you wed in secret

Unfortunately the happy times are cut short as soon as war and strife breaks out

Despite the ongoing war, you still sneak away to see your beloved. Through the good times and the bad, you still keep loyal to each other and warn each other of impeding attacks to see the other safe.

Once the famed Warriors return back home to set things right, it’s awkward to say the least

Of course Edred is happy for and supportive for you both. But on one hand, he can’t but feel a tad tiny bit jealous considering the disaster of his love life 😅

After the body-swap happens, it takes some getting used to but you still know it’s your Aelwulf there. Same mannerisms and all, and the hugs are still the same.

“So if I’m kissing you does that mean I’m also kissing your brother 😏?” , “please don’t phrase it that way my love 😥”

Switching tracks to the others for a bit. I love Emma. I love her character and personality. I love that she's about open communication and comprehension. The fact that she made stubborn old Merlin see the light in the errors of his ways was great.

Speaking of characters: Aelwulf is top tier. I like him and his manual dexterity 👀

He'll make an awesome king. The soul/body swap trick was wild though.

I've been juggling a lot of things at the moment but!!!! Just wanted to drop this here to show I am indeed still alive and making UWE fanart as promised! This is a little peek at a slightly bigger (?) animation I've been working on whenever I get the chance to amid everything else I'm doing! Now that my hipe for the episode died down a little, I feel like I kind of wanted episode 7 to have been a two part episode. I really wanted that Edred and Aelwulf relationship had more time to develop, for us to really see them heal the hurt Edred running away and the arenged marrige couses; moreover, even thought it was kind of clear to me that Aelwulf was more suited to be king them Edred, I really wish I got to see those two comming to that conclusion on screen.
