[ victoria pedretti| she/her ] Another face is seeking safety in New Orleans. Make sure to welcome THEODORA BERMAN to the home of the resilient. Rumor has it that they are an 27 year old BANSHEE, who is one of the SACRIFICED but we’ll keep that a secret. They are said to be PARANOID, but that’s all a façade to cover up their SELFLESS nature. We’ve heard that they can be found listening to A SKY FULL OF SONG by FLORENCE + THE MACHINE, which sums them up pretty well. Let’s hope that they can find a way to survive this harsh new world. mobile banner temp
CHARACTER PROFILE: Full name: Theodora Berman Nickname(s): Theo, Dora Birthdate: july 21 1997 Sign: cancer Age: 27 Species: banshee Sexuality: queer Hometown: Chicago Current Residence: New Orleans Occupation: task rabbit, she does any odd job given. Mostly walking dogs and delivering orders for stores
FAMILY: Parents: Molly Berman (deceased), Keith Berman (alive) Sibling(s): younger half brother PERSONALITY:
MBTI: ESFP Positive Traits: selfless Negative Traits: paranoid
ABILITIES: (trigger warning from here for: death, paternal death, parental abuse, depression, anxiety.)
Premonitions: it first began as night terrors at young age. as she grew older they began to happen while she was awake. they differ each time in how vivid they can be, sometimes it feels like she is there and others it feels like she is watching someone film the scene. she hasn’t learned how to control this ability yet.
Astral Premonitions: this began to happen in her teens, it was terrifying the first few times but she ended up getting the hang of it. she cannot control when this happens but she tries her best.
Death Wail: each time this happened she was asleep. the first time it happened was after she saw her mother die for the first time. it continued to happen until the night of her mother’s actual death.
Clairaudience: the world sounds different to her, she can hear things on a frequency others can't. this sound helps with hearing both future and current details with death.
HISTORY:
Born July 21st, 1997 to Molly and Keith Berman in Chicago Illinois. As a child, she was quiet and often seen smiling hand in hand with her parents. The group lived a fairly idyllic life, her mother a school teacher and her father was a lawyer. They were able to live a comfortable life in the city, reading books and taking trips to museums. At the age of six, she began to experience night terrors and sleepwalking. Her parents would find her wandering the backyard or shrieking in her sleep for a few months until the accident.
What her parents didn't know was that she was seeing her mothers death. One night the family was coming back from a weekend trip and got into a car accident. Keith and Theodora would survive but her mother didn't make it. This event changed the course of Theo's life and molded her into the person she is now. Due to complications from the accident, she suffers from chronic back pain.
Keith Berman would later remarry and have a son, someone who became the apple of her father's eye. It was possible he saw her mother's likeness, or maybe it was because he always wanted a son, whatever it was, their relationship dwindled the moment she gained a brother. However, she never held that to his fault. At the age of fifteen, she decided to leave home.
She moved from city to city until ending up in New Orleans. It became a safe haven for her, a place where she could start over and figure out who the hell she was meant to be. With all the folklore in the city, she soon found out about Banshees. From there she understood what those night terrors meant. They would occur from time to time throughout her life. Sometimes they were about people she never knew and other times it was neighbors or acquaintances.
The city felt safe for only a little while, soons he began to have night terrors every time she was able to fall asleep. At first, she had no idea why but then after following some clues, she realized the witches had been sacrificing people through the city. One night, she got too close a witch found her and quickly decided she had seen to much.
Theo was sacrificed and sent to the prison world, a place where no one was able to to die. Because of this, she had been at ease. Her banshee powers did not affect her and even though it was gloomy and cold, for once Theo had felt some sanity. Yet, after seeing how so many ended up there, she joined the fight to get everyone out. Even if it meant that her ailments would return.
HEADCANNONS: She loves all living creatures and if she had more money she would have way more pets.
Her apartment is a studio, it’s very small but she loves it. It’s on the top of her building so she has a terrace with lots of plants and herbs.
She ran away at a young age so it’s always been easy to pack up and move. This was something she often did anyways due to having no money and feeling as if she never fit in.
Every person she has ever liked, has ended up hurt or she has seen them in an accident during one of her night terrors. Due to this, she is nervous to get close to people but she also loves being near others. This overwhelming experience leads to a lot of sensory overload.
She has two cats, who come and go as they please but have collars so it’s clear she owns them.

CONNECTIONS:
Riley Shaw: she gave Theo a job when she was really desperate, so she will always be grateful. -under co-

2022 Roundup - books read
Fiction
An Offer from a Gentleman - Julia Quinn
The Sin Eater - Megan Campisi
Romancing Mr Bridgerton - Julia Quinn
Wandering Stars - Sholem Alcehiem
A Study in Scarlet Women - Sherry Thomas
To Sir Phillip, with love - Julia Quinn
Once There Were Wolves - Charlotte McConaghy
A Conspiracy in Belgravia - Sherry Thomas
Binti - Nnedi Okorafor
The Starless Sea - Erin Morganstern
The Hollow of Fear - Sherry Thomas
The Art of Theft - Sherry Thomas
Ghosts of Sherwood - Carrie Vaughn
Heirs to Locksley - Carrie Vaughn
Murder on Cold Street - Sherry Thomas
Persuasion - Jane Austen (re-read)
Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen (re-read)
Miss Moriarty, I Presume? - Sherry Thomas
Love and Friendship (and other writings) - Jane Austen
That makes 19 - my goal for the year was to read more diverse authors/stories and an effort was made, even if I did revert back to my comfort zone of historical fiction and re-reading some Austen.
I'm not sure why I stuck with the Bridgerton novels as long as I did, seeing as I found them mostly frustrating. I started out really enjoying the Lady Sherlock novels, however they unfortunately became a series of diminishing returns for me.
The Sin Eater was probably my favourite novel this year, something completely original and interesting and that has stuck with me. Once There Were Wolves had a really interesting premise but didn't really have the payoff, and The Starless Sea was a strange one because it seemed particularly geared to my interests and yet I just didn't vibe with it.
Non-Fiction
Top End Girl - Miranda Tapsell
Celtic Myth - Kevin Eyres
Celtic Myths - Jake Johnson
Troy - Stephen Fry
What People Wore When - Melissa Leventon
Under the Banner of Heaven - Jon Krakauer
Victoria The Queen - Julia Baird
Medieval Costume Armour and Weapons - Eduard Wagner, Zoroslava Drobna, and Jan Durdik
Scarred: How I escaped NXIVM, the cult that bound my life - Sarah Edmondson
Don’t call it a Cult: The shocking story of Keith Raniere and the women of NXIVM - Sarah Berman (re-read)
Finding the Mother Tree: Uncovering the wisdom and intelligence of the forest - Suzanne Simard
Out of the Corner - Jennifer Grey
1001 Arabian Nights Volume 1 - translated by Malcom C Lyons (partial)
That's 13 - some fascinating non-fiction this year, from actor memoirs, to myths and legends, to my continued interest in cults and cult-adjacent material.
In particular Under the Banner of Heaven, which I sought out after I watched the tv adaptation with Andrew Garfield and was extremely compelling, and Finding the Mother Tree, a super interesting exploration of the connectivity of the forest.
That's 32 total for 2022, less than my goal but who really cares.

Full Name: Sofia Lupe Rivera FC: Melissa Barrera Nicknames: tbd Gender: Cis Female. Pronouns:  She/Her. Sexuality: Bisexual.  Traits: Stubborn, Adaptable Species: Werewolf Occupation: Missing persons detective Bio: Sofia grew up in the bayou, her parents immigrated there before she was born. She was a very quiet child, more interested in the life that lived around her than anything taught in school. As a teen, she was considered an outcast, but didn't really mind it that much. After her parents death she joined the Police Academy. There she met Cody Matthews, the first person in the world to ever actually get to know Sofia. When he went missing, she made it her duty to find him. This lead to her triggering her wolf curse, when she murdered the witch who sacrificed her best friend. After trigging her curse, she was demoted to working only on the missing persons cases involved with the witches and OEA.
Tumblr media
Full Name: Sidney Elizabeth Shaw FC: Dianna Agron Nicknames: Sid, lamb (only by family) Gender: Cis Female. Pronouns:  She/Her. Sexuality: Bisexual.  Traits: Cynical, Gentle Species: Werewolf Occupation: veterinarian Bio: Sidney grew up in utter chaos and the only rock in her life was her older brother Oliver. The two were very close as children, often because of the way their parents behaved. Due to her surroundings, she’s very good at pushing down her feelings in order to help others. This lead her to being seen at the gentle one of her family. If anyone was showing a sign of distress, Sid would be on her way. Wracking her brain on ways to help the person no matter how far they pushed her away. That was until her family kicked out Oliver. Once that happened she stopped offering help to her family.
She would visit Oliver and his family often, even when the others had decided to cut him out. Soon after she moved out, got a tiny place to live while going to school for becoming a veterinarian. Taking care of animals was a passion of hers and it helped her heal. After getting her degree, Sidney tried to become closer to her other siblings. This plan was then halted when her younger sister was killed by the OEA.
Tumblr media
Full Name: Theodora Berman FC: Victoria Pedretti Nicknames: Theo Gender: Cis-Female Pronouns:  She/her. Sexuality: Queer.  Traits: Selfless, Paranoid Species: Banshee Occupation: task rabbit Bio: Being born a banshee means that Theodora has always been followed by death. For a few years, her life was simple. Both parents worked average jobs and they had a white picket fence. Then one night Theo began to experience vivid dreams of her mother’s death. This would go on for months until it finally happened.
After the death of her mother, her father became distant. Soon he found a new wife and had a son. Right after turning 16, she ran away from home. Feeling it was best for everyone’s sanity. Her father could barely look at her as she got older, often saying she looked too much like her mother. Despite loving her little brother deeply, she left him behind. Knowing that he was well taken care of.
Life on the road was freeing. Even with the side effects with her powers, having the ability to be alone was joyous. But soon she missed companionship, so she decided to settle in New Orleans only to later be sacrificed by the witches and forced into the prison world. There her powers ceased to exist, all thanks to no one being able to die in that realm. Yet, she knew they all needed to get home. So she began to dabble in magic, learning new spells to help break out.
Tumblr media
Full Name: Talia Reyes FC: Havana Rose Liu Nicknames: tbd Gender: Cis Female. Pronouns:  She/Her. Sexuality: Bisexual.  Traits:Impatient, Proactive Species: Witch Occupation: Hunter in the OEA Bio: Talia was born and raised in New Orleans, her family is part of a long line of witches. Her parents raised her to be kind and caring, for all people and things. There was multiple family pets in her home and it always felt like there was happiness that surrounded her family. However, on Talia's 9th birthday, she ended up losing her family in an accident. They had gone out one night with friends and never came back.
She was then placed in the foster system, where she was later adopted by a family would become influential in the makings of the OEA. So she hid her magical abilities, making it seem as if she was just clumsy when random vases broke during an anxiety attack. For a long time, she would read about witches in secret, but by the time she turned 19, she realized that her calling was to be with her real family, her coven. Since then she has worked hard to stay trusted in the OEA, to. make sure that she can protect the witches of New Orleans from their grip.

Night Sky: Season One (2022)
Format: A single season of a live-action TV show.
Directors: Juan José Campanella, Philip Martin, Shari Springer Berman, Robert Pulcini, Sara Colangelo, Jessica Lowrey, and Victoria Mahoney.
Writers: Holden Miller, Daniel C. Connolly, Allison Moore, Anne-Marie Hess, and Ezra Claytan Daniels.
Is J.K. Simmons in this? Yes, he gets top billing.
Who does he portray? Franklin York, a curmudgeonly old man who loves his wife.
What does he do? He acts suspicious of other people, not entirely without justification. And then one night he gets drunk and shows his next-door neighbour the portal to another planet that's buried underneath his backyard.
How bald is he? On the top. Got kind of a perpetual stubble situation going on with his beard. It looks pretty good on him.
Is anybody else in this? Yes, his wife is played by fellow Oscar winner Sissy Spacek.
Is it worth seeing if I’m not a J.K. Simmons completist? Absolutely, providing you can make your peace with the fact that there isn't going to be any more of it. It's a show with a great premise that has the good sense to keep its mythology and world-building on the back burner, behind interpersonal conflicts and the relationships of its characters.

grace baker & lilly jones: ok brain empty but,, grace's father was a notorious killer,, she goes on to become a journalist,,, theres gotta be something there right?? ive never seen hannibal but i know the general premise and i feel like?? some of the concept can be carried over here??? grace would be so interested to get into the mind of someone even remotely similar to her father since she has so many questions that she never thought she'd get any answers to.
lauren mallory & victoria: i get vampire!lauren when. lauren and victoria :handshake: wanting bella dead. anYWAY lauren is so.. Unhappy in forks and would jump at any chance to do something exciting, but most of all, she would jump at any chance to get the fuck outta town!!! she has a tendency to be A Lot but with a little bit of tough love and time she can be a good friend and ally!! i dont know if she'd have any kind of special ability as a vampire,,, but i still think they could work.
kirsty cotton & samantha carpenter: final girls that say fuck you to their monsters Need to stand together. even if kirsty's were actually from Hell and sam's were just people that didnt know how to just Let Shit Go, theyre both still survivors and Badass Bitches and i simply think that they could kick ass together. kirsty in my portrayal does eventually go on to become a social worker so maybe she'd worked with sam/tara before idkidk i just think that they could be really a neat duo.
robin craig & natalie pace: i watched through all of lost like,, a year or two ago but my memory of it isnt 100% past the first few seasons (but now i lowkey,,, wanna rewatch it). robin playing natalie in a film adaptation of the crash of oceanic flight 815. NO but actually... i would not mind throwing robin into lost at all. traveling for work and all of a sudden damn,, ur stuck on an island girlie!! i could definitely see the two of them forming some kind of alliance or pact or somETHING though and just,, Looking Out for one another early on,, working together later when things start to get crazy on the island.
kirby reed & cindy berman: summer camp counselor kirby reed at ur service 🫡 kirby being just enough of a bad influence in cindy's life<3 jill who?? cindy is kirby's best friend now. sorry i don't make the rules. maybe theyre counselors in the same cabin??? BUT ALSO,, cindy in scream?? friends with kirby, jill, and olivia??? them SURVIVING TOGETHER,,, i just,,, i think that they would be good friends and no matter what universe they were in they would Support one another's life journeys<3
van palmer & robin buckley: LESBIANS! LESBIANS!!!!!! throwing van into fear street can be done just as easily as throwing robin into yellowjackets imo. van as a counselor at nightwing and then an adult helping deena and the others in 94,, oR more practically,, van in 94, a Gay on the soccer team,, thrown into running for her life from possessed demon murder victims<3 robin in the Wilderness would change my life i think. @carnagebled.

13 Artists Poised to Break Out Big in 2023
13 Artists Poised to Break Out Big in 2023, According to Naomi Beckwith, Marilyn Minter, and Other Art-World Insiders
When it comes to movements in the art world, there is often a group of bold artists who create the unexpected and influence upcoming styles and trends. This specially-curated collection highlights 13 diverse artists who have been doing just that: creating unique and innovative contemporary art. This past year, they have achieved impressive milestones and proved themselves as artists with high investment potential. These are the artists you should keep an eye on, because they are sure to do big things this year. Discover the talents who will push the boundaries of art in 2023!
Marilyn Minter, artist, on Tala Madani
“She is irreverent, savage, filthy, and very funny. Plus she is a great animator and painter. I love everything she does. I’ve been following her work for years.”
Naomi Beckwith, chief curator at the Guggenheim Museum, on Caroline Kent
“After making several strong gallery and project presentations, and currently gracing MOMA’s “Modern Window,” Caroline Kent is now in pole position for a strong critical contextualization. Harnessing the palette and deep spatial instincts of the Bauhaus, Kent’s 21st-century abstractions are imbued with a sense of embodiment, wordliness, and clue us in to the relationships between power and language.”
“The Nigerian-born, London-based artist Richard Ayodeji Ikhide has been creating a cosmology of archetypes celebrating object- and image-makers and creators in our society: observers, storytellers, alchemists, artists, and inventors. I discovered Richard’s large-scale watercolor works through the non-profit organization V.O. Curations early in the pandemic, and it has been amazing to see him continue to expand his practice. He just completed a suite of extraordinarily beautiful and complex watercolors for a Victoria Miro Gallery online project, and I think he is definitely an artist to watch!”
Gela Mikava, advisor and founder of Eye of The Collector fair, on Sara Berman
Gela Mikava (The Alienation), 2023. Image courtesy of the artist, Georgia,Tbilisi
“A painting which captures the journey of transformation. With the alienated man's search for a supernatural face, the painting highlights the strength and courage required to break away from the mundane and rise up to embrace a better future. As a positive heroes, they are a source of inspiration to others who are struggling to find their place in the world.''
“My pick is Xiyao Wang, a Berlin-based Chinese female artist that was featured in our day sale this season. For me, she is representative of the new generation of abstract painters and you can certainly see parallels of the lyrical quality of Cy Twombly merged with inspiration from global mass culture, electronic music, and all the media that has been of influence to millennials and Gen Z. She primarily works on very large-scale paintings in which there are many gestural elements that evoke landscapes, bodies and movements.”
“The artist I predict will have an excellent 2023 is the talented contemporary Ukrainian artist Nicholas Koshkosh (b. 1995). Koshkosh lives and works in Kiev. In recent years, he has gained international recognition for his colorful, figurative, expressive paintings. Koshkosh has found his own unique expression and aesthetic language that spans a multitude of references to biblical narratives, mythical stories and — currently — interpretations of his first-hand experiences and feelings related to the ongoing war and invasion of his home country Ukraine. Old tales are combined with cultural signs from the Slavic regions, fairy tale references and contemporary pop culture elements. Koshkosh’s works are often shaped by an underlying critical attitude toward ongoing political issues. I foresee a bright future for Koshkosh as an artist who artistically provides and creates a space for reflection and immersion in art.”
Debi Wisch, producer of The Price of Everything and The Art of Making It, on Michaela Yearwood-Dan
“I was at a show at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art over Thanksgiving featuring work by many of today’s most headline grabbing artists and this was the painting that literally stopped me in my tracks because it is so drop-dead gorgeous, luscious, layered, seductive, and fresh. Then one of my most trusted, intrepid, influential art collector friends mentioned Michaela as someone that I need to know. I have been on a deep dive ever since. She is young, smart, talented and has a visual language that’s unique — and the paintings are stunning.”
Barry Schwabsky, art critic, on Andrea Marie Breiling
“It’s inspiring to see a painter push her work forward as quickly as Andrea Marie Breiling has been doing. I didn’t get to Miami to see her show ‘Ribbons’ at Villa Paula, timed to coincide with the Art Basel Miami fair, but from what I can tell, her spray-painted swoops and swirls have taken even more volume, depth, and drama. The spiritual aspiration of an Agnes Pelton meets the blunt physicality of a Willem de Kooning in a synthesis that’s totally of the moment.”
Josh Baer, art advisor and founder of the Baer Faxt, on Hiba Schahbaz
“I have been following Hiba’s work for several years — in full disclosure I do not own any — and her development from works on paper to large oils on canvas is significant. Her use of the female body, particularly through the lens of Pakistani culture and a pivot away from the traditional miniature, is new ground, at to least my eyes. All she needs for her next step in the art world/market is a serious New York-based gallery to help her enter the conversation.”
Allan Schwartzman, art advisor, on Rafa Esparza
“There are three basic ways I think of an artist ‘breaking out:’ in their work, by recognition, or by the attentions of the market. Rafa Esparza, an artist of mature vision and healthy and growing support of museums and private collectors, is likely to become more nationally visible with upcoming exhibitions at New York’s Artist’s Space and the San Francisco Museum of Art. I especially admire his work for its accessibility and truthfulness, for its presence, both commanding and gentle, and for its natural, complex, and essential fusion of the personal and political, and for his propensity to ‘brown the white cube.’ Working in performance, painting, sculpture, and installation, while not beholden to the conventions of any idiom, his work embodies the complexity of identity through the interwoven elements of his identity, while also critiquing conventions of art and society.”
“I have been following Annie’s work for some time, and have long admired its ability to teeter on the edge between substance and fragility, rendering the highly personal into a universal language of loss. But there is something about her relatively recent use of bronze as one of her primary mediums for her ‘Stack’ sculptures that I feel has elevated her practice to a new level. I loved her entire show at Chateau La Coste this summer, but it was the one outdoor work, a monumental bronze ‘Stack,’ that I feel emphatically declares Annie’s place within contemporary art history. Standing at six meters tall in a grassy field, just across the way from an iconic Louise Bourgeois Spider, the two works seem to be in conversation with each other, the bold declarations of artists of different backgrounds and generations united in their meditations on motherhood and mourning.”
Saara Pritchard, partner at Art Intelligence Global, on Sylvia Sleigh
“As a figurative painter who came to prominence in New York in the 1960s and ’70s, Sleigh is massively undervalued and under-appreciated by the broader collecting world while maintaining a cult figure status among art world cognoscenti. It’s time for people to see her incredible work and learn of her important contributions to painting and the feminist art movement.”
Aaron Cezar, director of the Delfina Foundation, on Hera Büyüktaşcıyan
“Hera Büyüktaşcıyan has been steadily rising above career milestones, mostly recently with new commissions for the New Museum’s Triennial and the 2022 Biennale of Sydney. Although her works have been acquired by Tate Modern and Centre Pompidou recently, 2023 will mark her first museum solo of new works in a yet-to-be-announced presentation. Watch this space.”

Wichita 2007 masterpost
This was a regional production, and we don't currently have a page for it on the wiki (though I may make one if I get around to it). (Edit: I have now done this!)
Tumblr media
There is a bootleg, but I found myself perplexed when watching it: there were too many (orange) boys, and I couldn't quite put names to faces!
It's primarily based on Broadway and the US tours (especially, of course, the contemporary Troika tour), but not exclusively.
So I went on a dive, found the names of cast members and assembled a little photo album from their public social media posts.
(Cast names and links to other posts below the cut; or just check the production tag.)
So far as I can tell, the principal boy kittens are called Bill Bailey and Pouncival (Pounce has the Troika design with a star-shaped black eye patch), but there's also a ?swing kitten called Carbuckety - and Carbuckety's design seems to be based on Admetus (that is, the cat who was, at the time, being called Plato in all European productions).
Etcetera is also present, as a swing who covers Grizabella: a pale yellow tabby, who could be confused for Jellylorum except that she has stronger facial markings and a broader wig.
Tumblr media
Cast:
Alonzo: Todd Allen Walker Bill Bailey: Tyler Foy Bombalurina: Kimberly Fauré Carbucketty: Aaron Umsted Cassandra: Tiffany Lee Ocvirk Coricopat: David A. Caamano Demeter: Lisa Rohinsky (now Bronshteyn) Deuteronomy: Emmanuel Mani Cadet Etcetera: Stephanie Martignetti Grizabella: Garrett Elise Long Gus/Bustopher: Nicholas F. Saverine Jellylorum: Melinda Wakefield Alberty Jennyanydots: Annie Funke Mistoffelees: Chaz Wolcott Mungojerrie: Roy Lightner Munkustrap: Johnny Stellard Plato: Taurean Everett Pouncival: Ryan Koss Rum Tum Tugger: Alex Michael Stoll Rumpleteazer: Sam Berman Sillabub: Deanna Glover Skimbleshanks: Billy Johnstone Tantomile: Paige Williams Victoria: Olivia Policicchio (now Fisher)
Creatives & Crew:
Director and choreographer: Dana Solimando Assistant director / assistant choreographer: Billy Johnstone Music director: Thomas Wesley Douglas Lighting designer: David Neville Sound designer: David Muehl Hair/makeup: Brandelyn Fulton
(Note that Billy Johnstone - Skimble and AD - was Coricopat in the last few years of the original Broadway production; Chaz Wolcott went on to play Mistoffelees in the Troika tour; and Kim Faure, of course, became Demeter in the Broadway revival.)
The links below lead to tumblr compilations of all the images I've been able to find. I added fewer than half of them to the wiki, because there are a lot of very similar images, or images that are too informal to be appropriate for the wiki.
