Wolf Hawkfield
I wanted to give his VF3 outfit some attention since that game is usually forgotten. I had to be creative with his glutes area since it's kinda hard to find a good pic of what's on his tights.

Bruh hyperfixations are weird af, not like the experience or doing it but like sometimes you just fixate on some random thing for no reason.
Had a dream last night of some blue twink with a gun and decided to hunt them down on the off chance they exist and somehow I found them.
Tumblr media
No idea who Happy Chaos was (yes 'happy Chaos' is his name) until today and now I am tempted to play a fighting game (last one aside from smash I played was Virtua Fighter 5) again for this guy, reading up all the stuff I can about him, and looking at fan art. I have never interacted with Guilty Gear until now.
Anyway y'all ever have a possibly divine mandated hyperfixation?

Ok so, with the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test now concluded, I'd like to share a few thoughts.
Tumblr media
The game looks great, I love the new redesigns, I love the new animations and the fact that they got the entire cast to rerecord their battle grunts and win / pre battle quotes, it was especially weird to have certain characters use voice lines from different actors, some of whom weren't even speaking the same language 🤣
The redesigns are almost exclusively great so far, but I do hope we get alternate costumes. Yeah customization is there but I don't really care to have Nina in jeans and cowboy boots or Jin in platinum blond pigtails like... A lot of fighting games just have a palette swap as the second costume and call it a day, but from the very beginning all the way up to Tekken 6, Tekken had an alternate outfit for every single character. Not only that, but it was usually a more "casual" outfit too like, Kazuya's Tekken 1 1P was his karate gi pants but his 2P was a tank top and jeans. Asuka's Tekken 5 1P was her Aikido uniform and her 2P was her trademark shorts and tank top and so on. Tekken 7 originally went for the 2P palette swap, but at some point they added extra costumes, including classic looks, via an update, and I hope they are there from the start this time.
I played almost exclusively as Nina because she's been my main since 2005, with a little Jun, a little Xiaoyu and a little Jin thrown in. I also tried Lili's, Hwoarang's and Asuka's combo trials (nice that they FINALLY added combo trials, I don't know what took them so long lol) I gotta say it's extremely satisfying to see Harada CONSTANTLY shading Street Fighter on Twitter by saying that the base roster will feature a lot more fighters than our competitors an also Mortal Kombat by saying that they are focusing on legacy fighters before they even start considering guests. Like. That's a ball move and a huge reassurance for the fans. I also know it's in good faith and no harm is meant towards Capcom or Netherrealm but he's right and he should say it!
If there's one thing I hope they copy off of Capcom is Word Tour mode. Yeah NetherRealm Studios' cinematic story mode is fine... I guess... But World Tour mode is the best single player mode ever featured in a fighting game and Namco even have their own blueprint in the form of Tekken Force. We're probably still getting a cinematic-style story but there's still hope for Tekken 9, or maybe even a smaller-scale Tekken Force return, in the style of Tekken 4 or sth.
Arcade Mode needs a proper reintroduction as well, in Tekken 6 you only got 4 battles and you were done and in Tekken 7 you straight up got nothing at all out of Arcade mode and character endings were instead for the base game characters who weren't prominently featured in the cinematic story and you got them after a single battle... Very underwhelming.
Also hoping other "missing" modes like Team Battle return and maybe Tekken Bowl will be included from the get go this time? I've also had this request forever but I'd love to see 1P Vs. Com or Com Vs. Com fights be included in offline versus. Literally every other fighting game has it except Tekken and Virtua Fighter and I can't tell why. It shouldn't be hard to implement and honestly sometimes it's just fun to pick characters, costumes and stage and just fight it out with the computer, as a break from online grinding and whatnot.
Now, as for the battle system itself... It's lots of fun! There's tons of stuff going on at all times but it feels great to experience and it's not really overwhelming or anything. It's cute that they have included an "easy mode" for new players to ease themselves in the fun. I'm not a master player by any means but I've had almost two decades of experience in Tekken and legacy skill does play a big role in the Tekken meta so it's an interesting way to even out the playing field. Interestingly, they also seem to have simplified some of the more complicated commands like, I can pull off all of Nina's combo throws now with a total of like, four button presses at most? Crazy! The heat system feels a bit weird at first but it's a huge asset once you get into it which doesn't take all that long anyway.
Overall I am very satisfied with what I got to play and I feel like Tekken 8 is gonna be another huge chapter in Tekken's history as well as the FGC's as a whole and I honestly cannot wait! Hopefully I will have moved out of Greece by the time it's out because my internet connection was killing me 😭🤣
I also better see miss Anna and Christie in the game or else I'm rioting.

Why does Bean from 'Sonic The Fighters' randomly appear in various 'Virtua Striker' games? From the Saturn Fan #14 - Satoshi Mifune was the main programmer on 'Dynamite Dux' and producer of the 'Virtua Striker' series. This also claims Bean is Bin & Pin's son. https://ift.tt/kR9aKjv

Losers Bracket Round 3 is over, Round 4 is starting
Results Here:
Remember that a little bit of trash talk is ok, but slurs and misogyny aren't. No "punching-down" humor, please.
My recap and some thoughts:
Knuckles beat Klug, who's victory against Sonic characters was shortlived
Ren Amamiya beat Sakura Amamiya, in a match up between two character I'm still surprised have the same last name. Also Sakura Wars is out of the running. I should play that someday
Pocket Circuit Fighter beats Arle Nadja
Naoya Toudou beats Alex Kidd
Sage beats Vyse
Kotone Shiomi beats Akira Yuki
Yosuke Hanamura beats Ecco the Dolphin
Tatsuya Suou beats Aika. I think this means we lost Skies of Arcadia
Koromaru beats Lidelle
Teddie beats Otori Emu
Scourge the Hedgehog beats Tillis
Kasane Teto beats Tohru Adachi. That's good. Idols put up with a lot of weirdos so....I should stop talking.
Aigis beats Naoto Shirogane in a fan favorite Persona character poll
Ryuji Sakamoto blows up Bean the Dynamite
Yusuke beats Gum
Maya Amano beats Mitsuru Kirijo
Satan/Dark Prince beats Opa Opa
Rise beat Toejam
Akihiko beats Beat. Which means we lost Jet Set Radio
Silver the Hedgehog beats Makoto Niijima
Amitie beats Ryo
Ulala beats Raffina
Blaze the Cat beats Big the Cat, proving to be the more popular Sonic purple cat
Ringo Ando beats Lemres
Jeanne beats Demi-fiend
Ex beats Earl. Goodbye Toejam and Earl
Honey beats Pai Chan. Her series isn't as active, but she's more popular then a Virtua Fighter character. In fact she beat the last Virtua Fighter character
Goro Akechi beats Chuni Penguin
Jack Frost beats Billy Hatcher
Yukari Takeba beats Amigo
Raphael/Phantom R beats Junpei Iori
Fuuka Yamagishi beats The Nahobino
And know since it's on my mind, here are the series still in the running:
Sonic the Hedgehog
Persona
Yukuza/Like a Dragon
Puyo Puyo
Project Diva
Space Channel 5
Bayonetta
Fighting Vipers
Shin Megami Tensi
NiGHTS into Dreams
Seaman
Super Monkey Ball

"My main girl is in the game, and she's better than ever. Sarah is such an icon. She has a simple but awesome design, great fighting style and a lot of easy combos. She's perfect for beginners, and for people with taste, lol."

◼️The upcoming Crazy Taxi revival is rumored to include both a remake and a reboot, the latter of which was the one unveiled at TGA 2023.
◼️At least one of those titles and the upcoming Jet Set Radio reboot are said to be targeting a 2027 release.
◼️A Virtua Fighter reboot is also rumored to be in the works, as is a new Super Monkey Ball title exclusive to Apple Arcade.
A prominent Sega leaker has revealed some new information about a variety of the company's upcoming titles, including the next Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio games, of which there are supposedly more than two in total. Their latest info dump offers some unofficial insight into what Sega fans can expect from the company in the coming years.
A lot of the newly emerged information concerns the classic Sega franchises whose revivals were announced back in December. A brief trailer that debuted at The Game Awards 2023 revealed that Sega is bringing back Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Jet Set Radio, and Shinobi.
Crazy Taxi Revival Might Actually Include 2 Games
In a series of early February tweets, reliable Sega leaker Midori shared some new information about those titles, in addition to disclosing the existence of several others. One of the most unexpected claims from the new leak is that the Crazy Taxi revival actually incorporates two games: a remake and a reboot with online elements. The one that was showcased at TGA 2023 is said to have been the reboot. At least one of them is targeting a 2027 release, although Midori suggested that both possibly are. The insider also said that the reboot and the rest of Sega's TGA lineup will come to the next Nintendo console, adding to the steadily growing list of leaked Switch 2 games.

Jet Set Radio 3 Is Supposedly a Long Way Out
Tumblr media
On the subject of the new Jet Set Radio game, Midori claimed it is a long way out and currently planned for a 2027 release as well. While some fans of the series might find that purported launch window disappointing, most should be used to waiting by now, not least because the last new entry was released over 20 years ago. Midori described the third Jet Set Radio installment as a reboot that features an original story with both new and returning characters, in addition to claiming the game is being made in Unreal Engine.
New Virtua Fighter and Super Monkey Ball Games Are Also Rumored To Be in the Works
The insider also went to state that a Virtua Fighter reboot is in the works, but not at the Like a Dragon developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, which handled the 2021 VF5 remaster. Not much else was shared about the project, with Midori merely stating that the game is meant to feature both single player and multiplayer elements. Asked about the recent Super Monkey Ball trademark that emerged in December, the leaker said that the filing pertains to an Apple Arcade exclusive. They also mentioned that the Golden Axe reboot was initially planned for release in 2023 but was delayed. However, that specific claim was later deleted, casting doubts as to its credibility.
Midori leaked the existence of even more revival projects at Sega just a day prior to this latest info dump. Specifically, the insider said Atlus is currently working on no fewer than three Persona remakes, as well as a remaster of a PS2-era Shin Megami Tensei game, which might be the 2004 Digital Devil Saga

EVO Japan! It's this weekend!!
... I hope they announce good stuff for Tekken 8 (ideally the balance patch is yuge and they significantly retool things to make the game less absurdly aggro and nerf the top tiers). And also I want a good character reveal.
To be totally honest I feel like Eddy Tekken 8 just makes the game worse. I didn't like him before, and I like his Tekken 8 version even less than his legacy versions. I don't like looking at him on the main screen. I don't like that you can't lab against him in replays unless you bought the DLC. Before, he was at least interesting and weird, but now he's a Tekken 8-ass character (derogatory).
And you know what, almost every Eddy player I've run into online has been an utter coward. As soon as there's any indication that you know what Eddy does, they leave. And you know what, I know what Eddy does and I'm going to take your damn points because you have no idea what you're doing and you're a barely-conscious putz.
... anyway, they gotta fix Tekken 8. They gotta penalize one-and-dones in ranked somehow and take out all the safe power crush heat engagers. Victor is absurdly obnoxious. I liked him OK at first (At Least It's Not Noctis) but... not a fan.
I started out intending to be excited about what they might announce at EVO Japan this weekend but I just complained about Tekken 8 and Tekken 8 players.
I hope they announce the new Virtua Fighter game. And gimme Armor King and/or Anna next for Tekken 8.

16.5" Liu Kang Coarse Statue.
In the vast realm of gaming, there exists a niche that caters to those who appreciate not only the virtual battles but also the tangible symbols of their favourite franchises. As someone deeply entrenched in the world of fighting games, I've always held a special admiration for the characters and stories that have captivated gamers for decades.
So, when faced with the dilemma of what to blog about, it only seemed fitting to delve into the realm of collectibles. Enter the Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector's Edition 16.5" Liu Kang Coarse Statue—a masterpiece that commands attention from both die-hard fans and casual observers alike.
Standing tall at 16.5 inches, this statue is not merely a depiction of a beloved character; it's a celebration of gaming history and artistic craftsmanship.
Upon receiving this exquisite piece, the first thing that struck me was the attention to detail. From Liu Kang's iconic stance to the intricately designed base, every aspect of this statue exudes quality and passion. As I carefully examined each element, it became evident that this was more than just a collectible; it was a labor of love from the creators.
As a long-time fan of fighting games from Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter. I must say while , the Liu Kang Coarse Statue holds a special place in my heart due to its rarity and sheer size. Standing proudly on my shelf, it serves as a reminder of the countless hours spent mastering combos and unlocking secrets in the Mortal Kombat universe.
Amidst the excitement of acquiring this coveted piece, there's a lingering sense of curiosity about other collectibles in the gaming world. One such item that has garnered attention is the Tekken 8 Exclusive Jin Electrified Figurine. Clocking in at 25cm, it boasts impressive craftsmanship and attention to detail. However, despite my admiration for the Tekken series, as I have gotten older I find myself drawn more towards the Mortal Kombat universe.
While both franchises have left an indelible mark on the world of fighting games, it's the visceral combat and iconic characters of Mortal Kombat that resonate with me on a deeper level. Perhaps it's the nostalgia of playing the original games or the thrill of executing a flawless victory; whatever the reason, Mortal Kombat will always hold a special place in my gaming repertoire.
The Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector's Edition 16.5" Liu Kang Coarse Statue is more than just a collectable—it's a testament to the enduring legacy of the franchise and the passion of its fans. As I gaze upon its imposing figure, I'm reminded of the countless memories forged in the fires of battle and the camaraderie shared with fellow gamers. And while the allure of other collectables may beckon, there's no denying the allure of Mortal Kombat's rich history and timeless appeal. Here are some pictures below to show you what I am on about.
