J-Fashion Terms for Beginners 3: Electric Boogaloo
Tumblr media
Angura Kei: A Visual Kei substyle inspired by traditional Japanese underground theater performances (Angura = Underground), but it is occasionally associated with Ero-Guro Visual Kei bands. People who wear Angura typically wear traditional Japanese clothing such as kimonos, military uniforms, and school uniforms (seifukus and gakurans usually) but with a gothic twist or references to the supernatural (such as those triangle handkerchiefs worn by ghosts in Japanese folklore). It isn't uncommon to see them wear shironuri makeup as that was worn by Angura actors during the 1960s and 1970s. From what I've seen, Angura isn't typically a style one wears day to day due to its over the top and elaborate nature. Some known Angura Kei bands are: MUCC, cali≠gari (though they are more known for Ero-Guro), Zombie Lolita and Inugami Circus-dan.

A truly theatrical blast from the past...
Tumblr media
Erokawa: Translates as "erotic cute", this aesthetic and style is also known as Erokakkoi (translates as "erotic cool"). Erokawa contrasts most kawaii trends by incorporating the concepts of sexiness seen in the West. While it is mostly a "visual art" type of kawaii style, I have seen outfits that do match this style; they tend to be mainly pastel clothes styled after lingerie, actual lingerie, clothes that share elements with Agejo Gyaru, shirts with sexy kawaii girls on them, or just your typical "tight sexy outfit with references to kawaii culture or ecchi on it. For accessories you'll see chokers, leg garters, handcuffs, harnesses and occasionally cat ears. The idea of cuteness is associated with neoteny, fragility, innocence and youthfulness; the idea of sexiness is associated with adulthood, experience, excitement and maturity. Sexiness can technically be seen as what cuteness is meant to evolve into once we all turn from children to adults. But Japan is famous for loving everything that can be considered "cute" and not approving of "non-cute" things unless they are made "cuter" for mainstream media, and yes...this partially includes sexuality that is natural for adult women to have. Enter famous Japanese Idol, Kumi Koda. Unlike most idols who's contractual purity is stricter than a Disney Channel star's, Kumi broke the mold by taking erotic elements in her artistic style and showing how they too can be seen as valid and acceptable. In contrast to other "sexy" kawaii trends, Erokawa was created with feminism and for women to take ownership of their sexuality.

Let's get sexy~...and adorable!
Tumblr media
Ero-Guro Kei: If one thinks of Visual Kei they are most likely thinking of one of these subgenres and styles; Kote Kei (means "old school kei", this is basically how Visual Kei bands dressed in the 90s), Tanbi Kei (means "aeshetic school", this style is inspired by classic European fashion), or Ero-Guro Kei, the style we're discussing here. In case the name didn't give it away already, Ero-Guro Kei basically means "erotic" and "grotesque". As described by the website TV Tropes, this style is meant to be an Interplay of Sex and Violence. Most Ero-Guro Kei bandmembers tend to wear clothes similar to Kote Kei, but with more exposed skin (i.e. not wearing a shirt or wearing a low-cut one) and tons of S&M/bondage or fetish elements like chokers, corsets, harnesses, leather and lace or mesh worn together and masquerade masks. Despite this, for most people the "Ero-Guro" part in Ero-Guro Kei usually comes from the vulgar and raunchy lyrics in their songs coupled with horrifying music videos. Some famous Ero-Guro Kei bands include but are not limited to: cali≠gari, Dir En Grey (during their earlier albums), Kagerou and ANTI-KRANKE.

Building a Witchy Capsule Wardrobe
Tumblr media
The idea of witches has been haunting humankind across continents for centuries. What began as a real-life hysteria that resulted in countless deaths has been reclaimed over time, celebrated in popular television shows (Charmed, Bewitched, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and movies (The Craft, Practical Magic, Kiki's Delivery Service), and even becoming a family-friendly Halloween tradition. Though things like witch trials and witch hunts sound like absurd concepts from a distant and radically ignorant time, in reality accusations of witchcraft continue to be taken seriously in multiple countries to this day. But for those of us lucky enough to live without fear of being criminally accused of collaborating with the devil, we can now have a little fun with the "witch" label.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unsurprisingly, musicians have long embraced the witchy look. Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks is probably considered by most to have the ultimate witchy rock star aesthetic, complete with an on-stage style of billowing bell sleeves and a discography full of supernatural songs. But it doesn't end there. Florence Welch's ethereal closet of flowing vintage gowns prompted Rolling Stone to describe her as "the Stevie Nicks of the Twilight generation," while Kate Bush has created a style and sound that has inspired many a "is Kate Bush a witch?" Google search. Lorde's predominantly black wardrobe and unconventional movements have also garnered plenty of discussion. "People keep asking me what I will be for Halloween and my answer is that I am Halloween," she once tweeted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though the most common visual presentation of a witch involves a green-skinned woman in a pointy hat riding a broom, a modern witchy wardrobe is decidedly more stylish. With a combination of flowy chiffons, lustrous velvets, chunky knits, tough leathers, delicate silks, and intricate lace fabrics, it's a look that is made all the more impactful due to its layers and textures. A little goth, a little bohemian, a little mystical - a witchy wardrobe can be a fun and spooky style to wear year-round, not just in October. If parsing the look down to a capsule-worthy fifteen pieces, these are the witchy essentials.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whether it's got billowing layers of ruffles or a sleek, simple cut; whether it's a dress adorned with the most dramatic bell sleeves or a shoulder-baring style with no sleeves at all, the black maxi dress is probably the quintessential witchy garment. And while pretty details can be enticing, don't overlook the potential of a basic black maxi. Though it may appear plain on its own, treat it like a canvas onto which you can create endless accessorizing opportunities. Top it with a velvet jacket, wrap it in a chunky belt, or pair it with some lace-up boots, and you've upgraded that nondescript dress and turned it into the ideal witchy outfit.

Perhaps the most extravagant item in any witchy wardrobe is an ornate kimono. It's all in the details: look for fringe, beading, embroidery, sequins, or scalloped lace hems. This is a piece where embellishment is key, so don't go for understated!

The little black dress is a staple for many women, and that's no different when it comes to a witchy one. When you're wanting to wear a dress but don't want quite as much coverage as a maxi provides, a midi, mini, or cocktail-length LBD fits the bill. And if you're wanting to add a little color to your closet, feel free! Deep burgundy, rich purple, and earthy olive green will mix in easily.

Stevie Nicks wouldn't settle for bland outerwear, and neither should you. This is another opportunity to add some eye-catching details to your wardrobe: take things in an edgy rock 'n' roll direction with a motorcycle jacket, keep it romantic with a soft velvet blazer, or go for a unique, structured cape.
Pictured above, left to right: R.Vivimos Ruffled Asymmetric Velvet Jacket Chouyatou Studded Faux Leather Biker Jacket Futurino Open Front Velvet Jacket ASMAX Open Front Longline Blazer Cape

Modernize a vintage-inspired blouse, or juxtapose an oversized top effortlessly with a pair of black skinny jeans or leggings. Keep it basic, or elevate them by choosing fun fabrics like velvet and faux leather, or cool details like corset lacing and patterned designs.

Can you really call it a witchy wardrobe if you don't have at least one garment you can dramatically swoop around in? A drapey, oversized top pairs perfectly with leggings and skinny jeans, and creates quite a striking silhouette. Look for loose batwing sweaters and asymmetrical, cape-like tops.
Pictured above, left to right: Vivicastle Loose Batwing Dolman Tunic Exlura Off Shoulder Batwing Sweater PRETTYGARDEN Asymmetrical Shirt BELONGSCI Balloon Sleeve V-Neck Blouse

Another versatile, witchy staple is the black maxi skirt. Whether you dress it up with a silky tank or heels, or dress it down with a band tee and boots, it will work for almost any season or situation.

A delicate lace shirt works beautifully in any witchy wardrobe, especially when the dainty, vintage aspect of the fabric is contrasted against something decidedly more modern, like a leather jacket or skinny jean. Whether it's a summer-appropriate crop top or a turtleneck sweater with lacey puffed sleeves, the lace shirt is practically a witchy prerequisite.

Who doesn't love a good graphic tee? This casual basic can be incorporated into a witchy wardrobe with ease, especially if its print features subject matter involving paganism, witchcraft, astrology, tarot, voodoo, or the occult.

No other shoe style fits a witchy look better than the lace-up boot. Add a grunge touch with some chunky combat boots, make it sexy with buckle-adorned snakeskin, or go all out with some thigh-highs to peak out from under a lace maxi dress.
Pictured above, left to right: Allegra K Platform Chunky Lace-Up Boots Forever Over-The-Knee Boots MACKIN J Pointed Toe Buckle Boots Dr. Martens Heeled Kendra Boots

Keep the pointy hat in the costume drawer, and make a wide-brimmed fedora your new classic. It's great for staying spooky while keeping the sun out of your eyes at the same time. ;)

You can change the entire vibe of an outfit just by changing your tights. Make it sweet with florals, cosmic with stars and moons, or turn heads with gothic crosses, pentagrams and serpents. If funky patterns aren't your thing, go for a more simple sheer or fishnet style.
Pictured above, left to right: Leg Avenue Celestial Fishnet Tights Leg Avenue Snake Fishnet Tights Leg Avenue Cross Fishnet Tights Leg Avenue Pentagram Fishnet Tights

Make a statement with a nature-inspired necklace. Keep things earth-oriented with colorful geodes, animal skulls and taxidermy pendants, but why stop at just one? Layer on the crystals on chains of various lengths to complete the look.
Pictured above, left to right: MJartoria Moon Pentagram Necklace Set YOOE Crow Skull Necklace Restyle Moon Phases Long Necklace Bivei Wire Wrap Quartz Crystal Necklace
CHUNKY BELT
Few things can alter the look of an outfit as much as the addition of a belt. Define the waist of a flowy dress with a wide one, or add Victorian-esque details with a corset style lace-up variation.

GOTHIC MAKEUP
Now that you've got a witchy wardrobe, add the finishing touches via your make-up choices. Create a smoky eye with a cool-toned neutral eyeshadow palette, then add lip and nail colors in shades of burgundy and black. Voila! You're one witchy woman!

It’s a little hard to read Kokomi’s poses sometimes (especially in dynamic poses) because I occasionally mistake the blue/indigo tamoto sleeves for her lower arms, since the sleeves are so frilly which draws attention to them. I know the patterns on kimonos themselves can be quite detailed but the frills are probably miHoYo’s stylization?
It’s most evident in the 2.1 key visual (the purple one with the Shogun at the back) because I’ve always thought her arms are pointing down where in reality they’re bent up. Hard to read her hands since the white gloves blend in with the white frills, I mean.
I do like her design though. It’s cute and the colours are nice.

KEIKO 31st Instagram Live
[20230107] KEIKO Insta Live #31 with comments
[20230107] KEIKO Insta Live #31 WITHOUT comments
Highlights of yesterday’s Instagram Live: There will be some news released this week regarding Keiko’s 3rd album. We’ll finally get to see some visuals. YAY for that. Keiko also mentions that 3 of the 4 songs that have yet to be revealed match her lower register (similar to Yoru no Uso to) while the 4th one has a higher key. Keiko hopes that this year she will be able to do a photo shoot wearing a proper kimono (last time it was just a yukata after all). Someone asks her if she would be willing to do a sign event in celebration of her album release and she doesn’t seem opposed to the idea. One thing she would definitely like to do again is some sort of Valentine’s Day Event on YouTube

Whenever I see people talking about how some countries are in decline due to low natality, and then search their politics on issues like abortion I actually hope that these countries do stop existing and that ones that do value life end up being created. Also reading about Japan's past w this was gut churning
Yeah since I do understand japanese I sometimes browse their forum/SNS and it's insane the amount of women saying a child is just too expensive to have one. Japan's population is declining and aging like crazy and the dim newer generation has to bear the weight of this aging population. Many people complain their country is ruled by oldheads who are out of touch with reality. IDK if you followed up the fiasco of the Tokyo Olympics and how the Olympics bureau screwed up the initial (and quite promising) ceremony plan for a much more austere and boring ceremony (sure C0vîd changed their plans, but what was the point to straight up cancel the entertainers presence when they could simply reduce the scale/budget of their performence?).
Shit happening in Japan is very distopic and wicked and the only ppl hyping this country are racialist rightoids raving about muh crimeless ethnostate wet dream and weebs who think Japan is like anime and want to live there as rootless plants living their Yamato Japan dream à la PewDiePie who's finally settled there....only to hang out with White gaijin 💀 lmao But beside these idiots, hardly anyone wants to live through such a demographic nightmare.
I've always said Japanese entertainment culture being so rich was a cope of an IRL lifestyle that was bleak and unfulfilling. And now this whole anime/manga culture has made its way here bc the Western world is undergoing the same societal collapse that Japan did a few decades before (social isolation, gaming, parasocial relationships becoming the norm over social ones, etc.).
People with fulfilling life don't watch anime/do gaming for hours once they get home or dress up as fictional characters half their age.. (especially when 99% of these shows are stupid and intellectually regressive). This self indulgence is why many adults today behave like children and become degenerates. I got so much shit for saying that, but an anime fan over 25 years old has something wrong with them. Casual watching is ok but being obsessive with that culture is mental deficiency in action.
And yes, Japan History esp during WWII is sketchy but they have this sort of revisionism where they act like nothing much happened. It's highkey creepy to see the amount of japanese words coming straight from German (アルバイト, ワッペン etc. ) when you know the context of how this happened... 🥴 and let's not talk about the weird SS uniform memorabilia in Visual Kei They've become the submissive USA lackey post war though so I guess they made a deal to not get much trouble for that👀. I had a Chinese friend of mine who despised Japan and I think that's also the case of Koreans. Those countries mutually hate each other since centuries now anyway. Not surprised to see Westerners aligning themselves with Japan when Japan has the same history of colonialism and cultural & racial supremacism. Imperialists countries have this weird fellowship around the evilness they did lol
Even when browsing on japanese SNS I'm shocked by the casual racism of Japanese netizens especially against continental Asians. They had a field day during c0vîd dragging the Chinese, and whenever a public figure gets in trouble they happen to get suspicious about some supposed foreign ancestry ("this person always looked kinda foreign..."). Japanese netizens HATE Kiko Mizuhara because she doesn't have japanese blood (she's half Korean half USAmerican) yet immigrated in Japan with her (Korean) mom while still a baby and has become one of the most successful supermodel in Japan and oversea, but it doesn't stop them from calling her a foreigner and telling how she can't properly pull off the kimono cause she's not a pure japanese breed this kuso Zainichi imposter ùwú. I even saw one send shots at Kana Oya because she's half Japanese half Brazilian and call her a "poor Brazilian" (poor as in "no money" since Brazil is indeed a poor country but how does any of that relates to Kana personally..?). They have this weird obsession to use someone foreignness/mixedness as a diss. Interestingly, I hardly see them having the same energy against half White entertainers¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (as long as they're not half Chinese or Korean ofc lol)

■Entrevista■
(sonriendo). Aki: ¡A mí también me encanta! (sonriendo). Me gusta maquillarme. Mao: No tengo hobbies (risas). -(Risas) ¿Y qué hay de los paseos? ¿Ni siquiera sales a pasear...? Mao: Me gusta salir a pasear. Me hace sentir solo. Tengo miedo... Mao: No da miedo. Yo, no tengo amigos. Mao: No funciona. ¡Me pongo nervioso! -¿Eh? ¿¿¿Pero no pareces así para nada??? Mao: Es verdad. Por favor, creedme (sincero). -Entiendo. ¡Publiquémoslo! Aki-san parece tener muchos amigos.

¡Oh! Una vez hice soba. -¡Eso es genial! Aki: Todo lo que hice fue hervirlo... (risa tímida) No es para tanto... Pero ese soba era rojo y blanco. -¿Eh? ¿Hay soba rojo y blanco? Aki: Sí. Es raro, ¿verdad?

■Interview■
―Please tell us how you met. Aki: I think it's back when we were in different bands and played at the same event. At that time, we didn't talk (laughs). ―You think, huh? (laughs) When did you first have a conversation together? Mao: After I disbanded my previous band, Aki-kun suddenly surfaced in my mind when I was looking for new bandmates, so I contacted him, thinking, "This probably won't work out~". And then he took the bait! That's what it felt like. ―This question is for Aki-san. What charm was it that made you agree so readily when you received the phonecall? Aki: I didn't expect Mao-kun to contact me at all, we've never spoken on the phone before. But it's undeniable that I've taken an interest in him eversince I saw him when we were still in our previous bands. With that, I decided "there's no other way but to do this!" ―To you, what's so attractive about Mao-san? Aki: You could say he's unlike anyone else, I especially liked his voice. I sensed something about him that's different from other people. ―And how does Mao-san see Aki-san? Mao: "He has glamour, I've never seen someone like this before!" was what I felt. Like, won't it be good to team up with someone you don't find everyday?...(laughs). ―I found out about SID before you started activities, back when you were scattering fliers before the start of some live. I remember the fliers said something like "We've started being visual", didn't they. Mao: Yes. We used to be in bands that had a different feel from SID's current visual style; although there are people who'll say, "we've been visual for a long time now, how about quitting?", I thought that aren't many people who'll say "I'll do it!" That's all there was to it. ―And then you started activities and it's been about 5 months now. How has it been?? Mao: We're moving ahead at a great speed, I can feel it everyday. ―Recently, the MD you released sold out immediately, and I understand that you released another MD at the event you spearheaded in November... The coupling song is a different track from the first MD, entitled 'Ao'. Mao: Yes. Because it sold out within a day the first time, we increased the number to 2000 copies this time, so people who've yet to listen to it, please do so. ―Well then, to sum it up with one word, what kind of band is SID? I get the feeling that you emphasise a lot on vocals. Mao: Although we call ourselves visual-kei, we don't want to keep strictly to what people before us in the scene have done. I think there are many ways of expressing ourselves especially because we're visual-kei. ―Mao-san, you use the phrase 'visual-kei' boldly, but why is that so? Mao: I like visual-kei a lot... (smiling). Aki: I love visual-kei too! (smiling). I like putting on makeup. Isn't it like becoming another you? I think you can't say something has to be a certain way for it to work out, so I want to express something that you can't sum up with a single sentence such as "SID's sound is something like ○○○!" ―I see you wear mofuku [black kimono for mourning] as outfits. Aki: Yes. Probably because you see people who wear kimono onstage, but never mofuku. I personally wanted to wear it. ―There are a lot of ways to wear mofuku well too. You both do it in your own characteristic way. Mao: Our personalities are different, so I guess it ended up like this naturally. ―And then there's the free live you're holding on the 20th of December... Aki: Not all the people who are going to show up will be the ones who always go to watch SID. I want it to be a live where we can involve everyone. And I want to let them listen properly to us. I don't want it to be a live that only serves to be fun. Mao: Because it's called "Half-year Anniversary Free Live", although half a year is a short time, we'll show you what we've compiled so far (laughs). ―This is a sudden change in topic, but there anything you've gotten into lately? Mao: I'm hobbyless (laughs). ―(laughs). What about strolls? Don't you even go strolling...? Mao: I like to take strolls. It makes me feel lonely. I go alone to places that are thought to have a lonely feeling (laughs). ―What about Aki-san? Are you the outdoor type? That's the impression you give anyway... Aki: Not really, but I guess I do go out? Although I used to read a lot of books because I like novels, I'm too busy to read recently. Even if I'd like to read because Autumn is the season for reading... Or is it Winter? ―What kind of novel do you like? Aki: I like fantasy. ―It's strolls for Mao-san, isn't it. Places like parks are great. When I'm in a slump, I'll get on my yellow bicycle and race to the park too (laughs). Mao: Yes they are. You feel lonely there! I like that. "Me, I'm lonely now!" that kind of feeling (laughs). Aki: There's a park near my home and I've camped there before. ―Camping? Even with your home nearby? Aki: Yes. It's the same park as always, but it feels different. You'll become lonely. ―Is loneliness your common ground? All: (laugh). Mao: The two of us are often together. We're close! ―What do you do? Aki: Shopping? We tend to wander without actually buying anything. Mao: Un. And then we have an enthusiastic conversation at the end and say good bye! Like that. Aki: There's alcohol involved... In the last part... (laughs). ―Do you like to drink? Aki: Even though I'm the first to get drunk (laughs). ―What happens when you're drunk? Aki: The worst, to the point where I can't talk about it. It can't be publicised (awkward laugh). Mao: Yeah really. I can't hold my liquor. And I have something to ask of you, is that alright? ―What is it? I'm scared... Mao: It's not scary. Me, I have no friends. So to all the bandmen reading hevn, "Please be my friend if you think someone like me will do." I'm recruiting friends. ―Eh!? Don't you talk to other bands like the ones you play with? Mao: It doesn't work. I get nervous! ―Eh? But you don't look like the type??? Mao: It's true. Please believe me. (earnest) ―I understand. Let's publish that! Aki-san seems to have a lot of friends. Aki: Not really. Oh, when we took part in the event hevn held recently, I became friends with Visage's Hiro. We've been calling each other. ―Finally, say something to your fans. Aki: Thank you! The feeling of gratitude is really strong but it's hard to put it in words. We've only just formed, but I'd like you to always watch us grow. Mao: We want to be a band you'll never grow tired of. Please support us as we'll always show you something new.

Oh! I made soba once. ―That's awesome! Aki: All I did was boil it... (shy laugh) It's not that great... But that soba was red and white. ―Eh? There's red and white soba? Aki: Yes. That's rare, isn't it.

Jacket Harmony: Finding Your Boho Chic Vibe
In the ever-evolving landscape of Craft Bazaar fashion, one style that has endured and captured the hearts of many is the bohemian chic aesthetic. Characterized by its free-spiritedness, eclectic patterns, and effortless elegance, boho chic is more than just a trend; it's a lifestyle. At the heart of this style lies the beloved boho jacket – a versatile piece that adds a touch of whimsy and personality to any outfit. In this blog post, we'll explore the essence of jacket harmony within the realm of boho chic, offering insights and tips on how to curate your own bohemian-inspired wardrobe.
Embracing Boho Chic: A Journey of Self-Expression
Boho chic fashion is all about self-expression and individuality. It's about embracing your unique style and infusing it with elements of nature, culture, and artistry. At its core, boho chic celebrates diversity and authenticity, encouraging individuals to mix and match pieces that resonate with their personal aesthetic.
The Role of the Boho Jacket
Central to the boho chic wardrobe is the bohemian jacket. Whether it's a vintage denim jacket adorned with intricate embroidery, a flowy kimono with floral motifs, or a suede fringe jacket reminiscent of 1970s counterculture, the boho jacket serves as a statement piece that ties the entire look together. It adds texture, color, and dimension to even the simplest of outfits, effortlessly elevating your style quotient.
Finding Your Jacket Harmony
Discovering your perfect boho jacket is akin to finding a soulmate – it's about harmony, connection, and resonance. Here are some tips to help you navigate the vast array of options and find the jacket that speaks to your bohemian spirit:
1. Embrace Eclectic Patterns
Boho chic is synonymous with eclectic patterns inspired by various cultures and traditions. When choosing a boho jacket, don't be afraid to opt for bold prints, intricate embroideries, or tribal motifs. Let your jacket be a canvas that tells a story – whether it's a vibrant patchwork design or a subtle paisley print, embrace the richness of pattern play.
2. Experiment with Textures
Texture is key to achieving that bohemian allure. Look for jackets crafted from natural materials like cotton, linen, suede, or leather. Consider embellishments such as fringe, tassels, or crochet detailing for added tactile appeal. Mixing and matching different textures can create visual interest and depth, adding dimension to your overall look.
3. Play with Proportions
Boho chic is characterized by its relaxed, laid-back vibe. When styling your boho jacket, play with proportions to achieve a balanced silhouette. Pair a voluminous kimono with fitted jeans, or layer a cropped jacket over a flowy maxi dress for contrast. The key is to experiment and find combinations that complement your body shape while exuding effortless chic.
4. Embrace Vintage Finds
Vintage shopping is a treasure trove for boho enthusiasts. Explore thrift stores, flea markets, and online vintage shops to uncover unique, one-of-a-kind jackets with history and character. Vintage pieces not only add a touch of nostalgia to your wardrobe but also contribute to sustainable fashion practices by giving new life to pre-loved garments.
5. Personalize with Accessories
Complete your boho chic look by accessorizing your jacket with eclectic jewelry, scarves, hats, and belts. Layer on statement necklaces, stack bohemian bangles, or drape a colorful scarf around your neck for added flair. Accessories are the finishing touches that tie your ensemble together, adding personality and charm to your overall look.
Conclusion: Embracing Boho Chic through Jacket Harmony
In a world where fashion trends come and go, boho chic remains a timeless expression of individuality, creativity, and freedom. By embracing the art of jacket harmony, you can curate a wardrobe that reflects your unique personality and celebrates the beauty of diversity. Whether you're drawn to vintage-inspired denim jackets, flowy kimonos, or suede fringe vests, let your boho jacket be a symbol of self-expression and sartorial adventure. With the right combination of patterns, textures, and accessories, you can effortlessly channel the laid-back elegance of bohemian style and embrace your inner free spirit. So, go ahead – explore, experiment, and find your perfect jacket harmony amidst the vibrant tapestry of boho chic fashion.

WOII week 4 & 5 (How to analyze a work of design) + (Field trip to the National Museum of Singapore)
Our activity today is to gather our image and pay attention to materials, craftsmanship, and contexts. I chose the Pikachu collectible I got from Kyoto as it can only be found there.
Tumblr media
(Our class activity sharing session about the objects we brought)
For the items I brought, I brought my spectacle case as I think it is a well-crafted item since it is compact, lightweight, and high quality. My second item is keys as it is useful and compact. Not to mention the amount of handiwork that is needed to fit exactly into the specific lock so that we can unlock the specific lock. My last item is the Kyoto Pikachu which is exclusive to the Kyoto store. The material used for the Pikachu kimono it wears which is handcrafted.
In week 5, we embarked on a class field trip to the National Museum of Singapore to gain inspiration for our design works as well as to document the experience at the end.
Tumblr media
(the key visual for Now Boarding: Experience Singapore)
I find that the key visual suits the exhibit as it is displayed before the entry to the area which gives off the feel of one getting ready to take off and hop onto a plane to a new destination. I can see that the design got its inspiration from the flight information display flipboards. In Singapore Changi Airport this is present in Terminal 2 which is recently renovated as well.
Tumblr media
(A graphic design of a cabin crew showing off the different destinations they can fly to)
I like the font and layout used in this graphic to show a more stylish approach to convey that it has multiple flying routes to different places.
Tumblr media
(An advertisement showcasing the expansion period when Singapore was building one of the first MRT lines. The graphics depict the MRT breaking through the wall symbolizing that this is a major project breakthrough for the country as a whole. )
I personally like the idea that the design has a symbolic meaning to it which I can also implement into my design works for craft montage and studio trading card by making use of more visual communication and context rather than all text base.
Tumblr media
(The panel above showcases the foundation and the type of sizes and iterations for the graphic they showcasing.)
I personally like the layout of the fonts which I can potentially use for the description of the trading card when it comes to the designer and illustrator biography.

These breezy garments have transcended cultural boundaries, captivating fashion enthusiasts with their relaxed elegance and practical appeal. Let's delve into the world of cotton kimonos, exploring the reasons why these garments have become a must-have in every fashion-forward individual's collection.
Tumblr media
The Breathable Luxury of Cotton:
Cotton, known for its breathability and soft touch, takes the spotlight in the design of these exquisite kimonos. Unlike synthetic fabrics, cotton allows air to circulate freely, ensuring a cool and comfortable feel against the skin. Whether you're lounging at home or strolling through a summer garden, the breathable nature of cotton makes it the ideal fabric for a diverse range of occasions.
Effortless Style Redefined:
Cotton kimonos effortlessly blend comfort with style, offering a relaxed silhouette that complements various body types. The loose and flowing design of kimonos adds a touch of bohemian chic to any outfit. Whether paired with jeans and a tee for a casual look or thrown over a swimsuit for a beach-ready ensemble, cotton kimonos bring an easygoing elegance to your fashion repertoire.
Versatility for Every Season:
One of the standout features of cotton kimonos is their adaptability to different seasons. In warmer months, the breathable fabric keeps you cool and comfortable, providing a stylish cover-up for sun-soaked days. As the temperatures drop, cotton kimonos can be layered over long sleeves or sweaters, adding a touch of warmth without sacrificing style. This versatility ensures that your cotton kimono remains a year-round staple in your wardrobe.
A Canvas for Artistic Expression:
Cotton kimonos often feature intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and artistic designs, making them a canvas for creative expression. From floral prints to geometric patterns, each cotton kimono tells a unique visual story. Whether you opt for a bold, eye-catching design or a subtle, understated pattern, these kimonos allow you to showcase your personality and style preferences with flair.
The Perfect Travel Companion:
Traveling in style becomes effortless with cotton kimonos. Their lightweight and packable nature make them an ideal addition to your suitcase. Whether you're exploring a bustling city or unwinding on a tropical getaway, a cotton kimono is a versatile piece that can easily transition from day to night. It's the perfect travel companion, offering both comfort during the day and a touch of sophistication for evening outings.
Eco-Friendly Fashion Choice:
In an era where sustainability is a key consideration, cotton kimonos stand out as an eco-friendly fashion choice. Cotton is a natural, biodegradable fiber, making it a more environmentally conscious option compared to synthetic materials. By choosing cotton kimonos, you not only embrace comfort and style but also contribute to a more sustainable and planet-friendly fashion industry.
Embracing Self-Care and Relaxation:
Cotton kimonos aren't just a fashion statement; they are a symbol of self-care and relaxation. Slipping into the soft embrace of a cotton kimono after a long day is a ritual that transcends trends. The tactile pleasure of the fabric against your skin and the ease of movement they provide create a sense of tranquility and indulgence, turning mundane moments into luxurious experiences.
In conclusion, cotton kimonos embody the perfect blend of comfort, style, and versatility. Their timeless appeal, adaptability to different seasons, and eco-friendly nature make them a wardrobe staple for those who appreciate the finer things in life. Whether you're savoring a quiet evening at home or stepping out for a social gathering, a cotton kimono is the epitome of relaxed elegance that transcends fleeting fashion trends. Embrace the allure of cotton kimonos, and let them become an integral part of your personal style journey. You can visit our website for the best collection of cotton kimonos at Melbourne Leather Co.

Accessorizing Your Crop Top Elevate Your Look with the Right Additions
Crop tops have become a staple in women's fashion, transcending seasons and styles. Whether you're heading to a summer festival, a casual brunch, or a night out on the town, the versatility of crop tops makes them a go-to choice. But, as with any fashion piece, the key to making a statement lies in the details. In this blog post, we'll explore how accessorizing your crop top can take your outfit to the next level. From statement earrings to chic handbags, we've got you covered on all the ways you can wear crop tops for women and create a look that turns heads.
I. The Power of Statement Earrings
When it comes to accessorizing your crop top, never underestimate the impact of statement earrings. These bold, eye-catching pieces can add a touch of glamour and personality to even the simplest of crop tops. Whether you opt for oversized hoops, colorful tassels, or intricate studs, the right pair of earrings can transform your look from casual to chic in an instant.
For a day-to-night transition, choose statement earrings that complement the color or pattern of your crop top. If you're wearing a solid color crop top, go for vibrant and contrasting earrings to create a striking visual effect. The key is to draw attention upward, highlighting your face and adding an extra element of style to your ensemble. Don't be afraid to experiment with different earring styles to find what suits your personal taste and the occasion.
II. Layering: A Fashionista's Best Friend
Layering isn't just for colder seasons – it's a fantastic way to add depth and interest to your crop top ensemble. Whether you're wearing a long-sleeved crop top or a sleeveless one, layering opens up a world of possibilities. Throw on a stylish blazer, a denim jacket, or even a kimono for a look that's both on-trend and weather-appropriate.
Experiment with textures and lengths to create a dynamic visual appeal. If your crop top is a solid color, consider layering with a patterned piece to add visual interest. On the other hand, if your crop top features a bold pattern, a neutral or complementary outer layer can balance the look. The key to mastering the art of layering is to strike a harmonious balance between the different elements of your outfit.
III. Bottoms Up: Finding the Perfect Pair
The success of your crop top look also depends on the bottoms you choose to wear. From high-waisted jeans to flowy skirts, the possibilities are endless. When it comes to pairing bottoms with crop tops for women, it's all about creating a balanced silhouette.
High-waisted bottoms are a popular choice as they not only enhance your figure but also provide the right amount of coverage, making crop tops more versatile. A high-waisted skirt can add a touch of femininity, while high-waisted trousers can bring a sophisticated edge to your outfit. Don't shy away from experimenting with different lengths and styles to find what complements your body shape and personal style.
IV. Accessorize Your Crop Top with the Perfect Handbag
No outfit is complete without the right handbag, and crop tops are no exception. The type of handbag you choose can significantly impact the overall vibe of your look. For a casual day out, a crossbody bag or a backpack can add a laid-back, effortlessly cool touch to your ensemble. On the other hand, a clutch or a statement handbag can elevate your crop top for a more polished and formal occasion.
Consider the color palette and style of your crop top when selecting a handbag. Matching or complementary colors can tie the entire look together, while a bold contrast can make a statement. Play with different textures and materials, and don't be afraid to mix and match to create a unique and personalized outfit.
V. Footwear: The Final Touch
The shoes you choose can make or break your crop top ensemble. From sneakers to heels, the right footwear can complement your outfit and enhance your overall style. For a casual and comfortable look, pair your crop top with trendy sneakers or stylish sandals. If you're going for a more polished appearance, opt for heels or ankle boots to add a touch of sophistication.
Consider the occasion and the length of your crop top when selecting footwear. Ankle boots can add an edgy vibe to a short crop top, while strappy sandals can create a breezy and summery feel. The key is to find a balance that suits your personal style and ensures you feel confident and comfortable in your chosen footwear.
Conclusion
Accessorizing your crop top is all about expressing your individuality and creating a look that reflects your personality. From statement earrings to the perfect pair of shoes, each accessory plays a crucial role in elevating your crop top ensemble. Experiment with different combinations, embrace layering, and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.

Oversized T-Shirts for Different Body Types
Oversized T-shirts can be a stylish and comfortable choice for people of various body types. However, the way you wear and style an oversized T-shirt can vary depending on your body shape and personal preferences. Here are some tips on how to wear oversized T-shirts for different body types:
Online oversized men's T-shirt in Kerala
Hourglass Figure:
For those with an hourglass figure, oversized T-shirts can be flattering when paired with fitted bottoms like skinny jeans or leggings. This balances the loose top with a more defined bottom.
Consider adding a belt to cinch your waist and create a more defined silhouette.
Pear-Shaped Figure:
If you have a pear-shaped body, choose oversized T-shirts with V-necks or scoop necks to draw attention to your upper body.
Pair your oversized tee with dark-colored bottoms, like black or navy, to create a slimming effect on your lower half.
Apple-Shaped Figure:
To flatter an apple-shaped body, opt for oversized T-shirts that are slightly longer and cover your hips. This helps create a more balanced look.
Layering with a light jacket or cardigan can add structure and definition to your upper body.
Rectangle or Straight Figure:
If you have a straight or rectangular body shape, oversized T-shirts can add curves. Look for T-shirts with bold prints, ruffles, or embellishments to create the illusion of curves.

Oversized T-shirts can be a great choice for plus-size individuals. Choose T-shirts made from breathable fabrics that drape well, like cotton or jersey.
Consider layering with a lightweight cardigan or kimono for added style and coverage if desired.
Tall Body Type:
If you're tall, you can embrace the oversized look fully. Opt for long oversized T-shirts that reach your mid-thigh or knees.
Pair them with leggings, bike shorts, or skinny jeans for a balanced silhouette.

Athletic or Muscular Body Type:
Oversized T-shirts can provide comfort and a relaxed look for those with an athletic or muscular build. Choose T-shirts with dropped shoulders for a laid-back vibe.
Pair them with fitted or tapered pants to create a contrast with your upper body.
