Tbh I think you draw Bakugou with the potential kindness he has within. We know he's a hero, he's just learning to accept the warm fuzzy feelings part of that. I think you draw him the way Deku sees him, minus some of the sparkles.
stopppp that’s so sweet 😭😭😭☝️💗

Results of the nonbinary name survey
Hi folks, just thought I'd throw together a quick report about nonbinary names based on the recent survey.
The survey ran from 4th until 13th May, and there were 5,179 usable responses. For this one I won't share the full spreadsheet of all responses, as it contains potentially identifying information. Having said that, you can find a spreadsheet of the information I can share with you here. Every name entered only once has been redacted.
Most popular names
Let's kick it off with the main reason I did this survey, finding the nonbinaryest name:
Tumblr media
Alex was #1, with 1.6%, which is 1 in 62 nonbinary people.
Here's the full top 10:
Alex - 1.6% (83)
Jay - 1.2% (64)
Sam - 0.9% (49)
Charlie - 0.7% (36)
Max - 0.7% (36)
Ash - 0.6% (33)
Robin - 0.6% (33)
Rowan - 0.6% (31)
Kit - 0.6% (30)
Eli - 0.6% (29)
Name length
I'm familiar with the stereotype that nonbinary people choose names by taking 3 letters from a bag of Scrabble tiles, or that nonbinary people take letters off their given names until it's one ungenderable syllable, and I would like to take this opportunity to add that these are both excellent ways to create new names. :D
This graph takes a rolling median name length from the whole list, and it shows that generally speaking the most popular names tended to be shorter:
Tumblr media
The average name length was 5.1 characters long.
This seems to support the stereotypes, but I feel it's worth mentioning that we can't know for sure whether it actually does, because for all we know, binary people's names might show these kinds of patterns too.
Number of names per person
Participants could enter as many names as they wanted, in a list separated by commas. That made it pretty easy to count them, and it turned out like this:
Tumblr media
That's fairly straightforward, most people have only one name.
Problems with survey design
Overall I definitely feel that the survey had some flaws. I knew in advance that there would be some people who have more than one name that they like more or less equally, but for some reason the first question I came up with assumed that you have one name that you like most and then required a single answer from a list stating how that name happened to you - leading the respondent to a different section based on that answer.
What if you've got two or more names that you like equally, and one was given to you by your parents when you were born that you use for work, one is a nickname based on that name that evolved between you and your family and friends as you were growing up, and one is a name you chose yourself and your closest friends call you that? That's pretty much an impossible question, isn't it?
And there were several other questions in the survey that took that approach, making the data from those questions basically useless.
I didn't think it would cause problems for so many people, but it did, and I have learned my lesson there.
However, there was a question asking you to list all your names, and that's what I used to make the ranked list. I don't see how people with more than one name that they prefer completely equally (i.e. those people who would be thrown out of the survey by an impossible required first question) would prefer different names from people with one name only, so I think the ranked list is probably approximately okay, and same for the number of names per person graph and the average name length.
Implications
I haven't decided yet, but I definitely think there's scope for doing this survey annually - but separately from the identity/titles/pronouns survey, for anonymity reasons. It could be fun to track popular nonbinary names over time, similar to the popular name lists for babies that are usually split by boys'/girls' names. It might be a bit meaningless unless I collect country data as well though, which is why the list currently reads very....... American..........
Now that I've learned a lot from a big and not-so-well-designed survey run on my personal account, I'd feel more comfortable designing something a bit more fit for purpose, and running it from the @gendercensus accounts to hopefully get more participants.

Disasters in Film: The eras of disasters in film.
Here we go! The first in a series of posts I'm going to do giving my thoughts on the college course I'm taking this semester about disasters in film. I made a post with the film list and reading list as well, which you can check out here.
Also. One of the professors teaching this course LOVES quotes. And I mean loves them. 90% of his presentations are just quotes that he then rambles about. So be prepared for lots of quotes in this series. 😂
And I'll open this up with the same image the professors did, which is an image from the Mayfield Kentucky tornado. Because damn is it fitting and evocative:
Tumblr media
This is a theater that was damaged by a tornado, revealing the world outside the theater while leaving the interior of the theater itself untouched. The photo was taken by Shawn Triplett.
And a quote:
“Disaster is one of the oldest subjects of art.. It is concerned with the aesthetics of destruction with the peculiar beauties to be found in wreaking havoc.” —Susan Sontag, The Imagination of Disaster
Now, onto my thoughts on the eras of disaster! We covered the basics, obviously, which is that we started off with biblical disaster movies in the 20s and then swung into more exaggerated/"imagined" stuff. Then in the 50s and 60s we kind of swung back to biblical and historical stuff for a bit before going back to exaggerated/"imagined" stuff like aliens and monsters. Then, of course, we had the big resurgance in the 70s which moved away from aliens and monsters and that sort of destruction and swung more towards natural disasters and using them to frame various discussions of class and the real world. The 80s were dominated by action disaster movies with lots of focus on remasculinization of America (aka sweaty men with their shirts off kicking ass). Then in the 90s we just went in all fucking in on completely destroying the world. There were 83 disaster movies released in the 90s, with 21 of them being released in 1998 alone.
And then we've got 9/11. Now, the professor's have stated that we'll talk more about pre-9/11 and post-9/11 disaster movies later, but what I found interesting here is that the professor stopped separating the decades after this. We just went from the 90s to the 21st century as a whole. Which felt weird. We're nearly 1/4 into this! There's two complete decades of it so far! I think we can at least make some broad strokes generalizations about the sort of differences in disaster movies in each of those decades.
But, with that said, I do wonder if the lack of breaking it down farther stems from the sort of cultural stall we're in as a whole. This has been talked about a lot in other realms, such as how quickly fashion trends turn over to the point they hardly count as trends anymore. The same could, potentially, be said of disaster movies. I'm actually tempted to sit down and try and figure it out, to see if I could put a specific trend to 00's and 10's disaster films, but I haven't had the chance yet.
Then, of course, we have the fact that Hollywood is pretty broken right now. Obsessed with remakes and churning out the same content over and over again. Killing unique studios left and right. Constant layoffs. Terrible treatment of its workers. Etc. Etc. Might that also speak to our lack of easily discernible trends in disaster movies?
Either way, it's interesting!

Just finished watching the FNAF movie (hooray for early UK release!) and I unironically loved it. Some things I want to mention…
Spoilers under the cut!
MATTHEW LILLARD AS WILLIAM AFTON 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
JOSH HUTCHINSON AS MIKE SCHMIDT 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Honestly me just losing my fucking shit whenever there was a reference to the lore/games?!?! Like I was SO excited it was unreal
THE TOREADOR MARCH?!? FOXY SINGING?!? BALLOON BOY?!?! VANESSA?!? THE FREDDY LAUGH?!? THE “IT’S ME” WRITTEN ON THE MIRROR?!?
Not gory at all tbh like there’s a couple of scenes involving blood but most of the kills cut away before showing anything (there WAS a scene where Freddy chomped someone’s torso in half but you only see her bottom half afterwards, like the bite happens in the shadows)
There were, in fact, five nights at Freddy’s (and one day) (yes I counted lol) and absolutely nothing of particular scariness happened on Nights 1 or 2, Night 3 was cute, Night 4 started off cute but got sad and then Night 5 was kind of terrifying, kind of funny, kind of fucking awesome and filled with lore
They definitely missed a trick by not mentioning the Bite of ‘87 (or ‘83? Idk) or Golden Freddy but I know there MIGHT be a sequel so… 👀
I spent the whole of the movie trying to figure out who the fifth child/animatronic was 💀 like obviously Freddy, Chica, Bonnie and Foxy… was the fifth one the fucking cupcake?!?!
The cupcake was kinda goofy but I loved it all the same
The animatronics went from villains to not villains to villains to not villains again like what a journey
Look most of my FNAF knowledge admittedly comes from watching Markiplier and JackSepticEye playthroughs but since when was Vanessa William Afton’s daughter?!? Also is Vanessa THE Vanny???
Going into soft play with the pre schoolers at work is NOT going to be the same after this film 💀
Literally all of the people in the cinema freaked out when Springtrap appeared oh my god
We have come SO FAR since the SFM fanmade videos of William Afton in the Springtrap suit getting springlocked and dying surrounded by the ghost children in the animatronics like holy shIT?!?!
“I always come back” - cue the 20 people at the 10:50am showing I was in absolutely losing their fucking shit
In the sequel (if there’s a sequel) I DEMAND more Matthew Lillard as William Afton/Springtrap like yeah he’s dead but FLASHBACKS!!!! Prequels?!? So much potential there. What I’m trying to say is that we deserved more of him, he was amazing but only there at the beginning and the very end, that’s my top complaint tbh
Not that scary to be honest but there’s some jump scares
I will say this, it definitely felt VERY campy at times, like there were moments involving murderous animatronics where we were all giggling in the cinema
Abby (Abi?) was VERY cute and sweet but also I wanted to shake her like you fucking idiot why are you going up to the scary ass animatronics?!? Stay in the office with your sleeping brother
The fact Mike still has custody of his sister after their aunt was presumably murdered in his home is not adding up but hey ho 😂
Is it the best movie ever made? No, but it was enjoyable for me so I call it a win
If anyone has any questions or wants to talk about it, feel free to hit me up, I won’t be able to reply until just over 4 hours time though as I’m about to head into nursery and do a shift so… yep!

Holly missing Steve after the relationship ended 🥺🥺 is just so sweet and so sad because you know he was always kind to her and listened to what she was saying. Whereas her older siblings might have begrudgingly done so because of the age difference and the responsibility they had to carry since she's the baby.
I've read a couple of wonderful fics where Steve continues to see Holly after the break up and Nancy doesn't notice till months later because she's too focused on upside down stuff and Jonathan. Which I can totally see happening just based on everything.
I just picture Steve in longer relationships internally being like "Our Sibling ◉‿◉". Idk, I'm just rambling and thinking of Steve with younger kids and him treating them like actual people instead of the kind disinterest people can have.
A while ago we were talking about how Steve and Nancy potentially met when Steve taught parent and tot swimming to Holly and Nancy stepped in for Karen, so she met Steve in the summer of '83 and so technically Holly is the Wheeler with the most claim on Steve lol. that's her man!!
I think the Wheeler siblings' relationships are so neat because I have siblings, and I was definitely babysitting my baby brother and sister, but we're all close? So when siblings aren't talking to each other I'm sad :( those are your built in friends who you have to put up with! They are your minions! especially as young as Holly is. Yeah she's probably very annoying, but you must weaponize the annoying to your advantage!
I would love fic recs with Holly and Steve being buddies!! He and Nancy dated for nearly a year, that's a significant amount of time for a toddler, and I think Steve and her would have had fun together! I see Nancy walking into her living room only to see Steve and Holly lying on the floor having a tea party because he's babysitting her. She refuses to be babysat by anyone else. if it's been a while she'll sit at dinner and say "Mommy? isn't it time you and daddy had dinner away from us? so Nancy can go out too and then Steve can visit?" she's pushing them out the door. single highhandedly saving the Wheeler's marriage by forcing them to go on bi weekly date nights lmao.
Steve when his partner of at least three months has a little sibling:

Ooo, lol, looks like someone got their knickers twisted so hard they wrote a whole essay about how they're categorically correct about an ultimately subjective matter. That's always a winning approach.
Please do not try to "educate" me the difference between writers and executive producers in animation. I have an animation degree. I'm not a child.
I follow both Brent and Alan on Twitter and have been for like 3 years now. I have been watching their updates since the announcement of the show 2 years ago. I have pics of them celebrating finishing up the writing. Here's proof that they wrote it, including screenshots of the IMDb Brent had linked on his Twitter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I said this is not what they consider THE sequel. Obviously it is *a* sequel. I'm saying people should not be treating it like Megamind 2 when it is a pilot for the TV show. They want a real theatrical sequel.
This is a random screenshot I felt was important
Tumblr media
I think this person better put what I meant about not as many people would care this much if it wasn't on streaming:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Megamind was an arrogant little egomaniac for the entirety of the first movie. Not sure how you missed that. Roxanne appears dissatisfied with her place in life from her recording at the Metro Man Museum with Hal onward, and does her level best to become the hero her city needs because no one else is going to stand up and do it - not sure how you missed that, either, but her whole character arc is about stepping up to the plate to do good. Well done reducing her to a single career point and then discarding her. I wasn't surprised to see her frustrations with going right back to reporting. That was a headspace that made a ton of sense for her. It was set up incredibly well.
And Megamind himself says, "some days, it felt like it was just me and Minion against the world," so you might think I agree with you there - but in fact I'm going to point out the SOME days, it FELT LIKE. There is no reason to believe that he never had any other professional associates between the time he left the schoolhouse and the time we see him as an established supervillain. In fact, I can and will argue that there's room to interpret *he himself* saying he wasn't always flying solo. It's up to interpretation - but it's there.
And no, Roxanne and Megamind are not and should not be "quasi-dating" unless you want to look past the enormous Bernard lie. Which I can't say I'm surprised you did, since Roxanne doesn't matter as anything other than Reporter Romantic Interest, apparently. The end of the original implies they have *potential.*
But I'm not trying to convince you. At the end of the day, you didn't enjoy something you hoped to enjoy. You missed a few key points about the original, so the pilot of the show didn't line up with some of your expectations and it pissed you off. That's a shame. But instead of offering some grace and recognizing it for what it is - a movie designed for a younger demographic than the original, the first ounce of love Dreamworks has shown this IP since its initial release more than a decade ago, and as much story as could be crammed into 83 minutes because the people making it only had so much time within which to work, which is *honestly a fun ride* if somewhat tonally dissonant compared to what YOU were hoping for - you've decided instead to focus on what it wasn't: What You Personally Wanted. And you've decided to make your disappointment everyone else's problem instead of processing it like an adult and moving on.
I think you're boring, I think you're unkind, I think you're a whiny little bully who came onto MY POST to bitch and complain about how you're the god of what I'M allowed to enjoy. Block me, if I make you so miserable. I'm busy having fun.

Sano & Haru:Chronically Connected
THE END...FOR NOW!!!!
We reached the end my fellow yohaji enjoyers~ Hope you all enjoyed my ramblings about my favorite duo.
(Chapter 83-92)
Tumblr media
☆Chapter 83。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。.。:+*゚
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throughout this whole chapter Sano shows that he will the first one to run after Haru. When haru runs towards the shrine he doesn't stop to wonder what is going on. Choosing to go after him and be the first to be there.
When Haru gets his soul taken, he was the first one to snap out of his shock to try to get his soul back. And in turn this gets the rest of the students to instantly kick into gear and follow his lead.
When Haru's body falls, he goes after it, again all instinct and no plan. He even seemingly turns their bodies so that he would take the bulk of the impact.
☆Chapter 84。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。.。:+*゚
Tumblr media
Sano, desperately trying to get keep Haru's soul safe accidentally has his powers get of control and her shatters his soul. You can see the boy trying his best to keep his seimei-sensei safe. And when you see his face after and see how devastated he is you can tell how far we've come.
Old Sano would feel horrible about hurting someone this bad with his powers, but current Sano feels even more horrible that it is someone who he so obviously cares about. Someone he was will to sacrifice his own wellbeing for, being hurt by him.
(Side note-it was really heart warming to see even students who don't get as much time to show their relationship with Haru still show that they love this man, such found family vibes!)
☆Chapter 87。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。.。:+*゚
And now for the Haru version of "tragic moment in this relationship during this arc".
Haru, currently in a state where he only has his physical capabilities and his desires, as soon as he see Sano clings to him. He stays clinging to him this chapter and it's very cute. But also it's kinda sad, even with no responses, no memories, not even his intellect/powers to protect him, he still tries to be there for Sano, he kept his promise that he offered him when Sano admitted to being a god. Haru tries to give him his same comforting aura that he use to have.
Tumblr media
In this dulled state he even does what Sano has been doing for him just a couple chapters ago, and tries to take a hit for Sano's wellbeing. He is practically a walking doll with an antenna that responds to sailor uniforms, yet he still chooses to sacrifice himself for the first person to know his secret in the class, someone who doesn't treat him like he needs to be babied, someone who has grown with him to be a better version of themselves.
A person who is closer to being his first, though reluctant and annoyed by the notion, friend at the school.
☆Chapter 90。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。.。:+*゚
Tumblr media
Another moment were Sano puts himself down but now it's for his inability to properly control his powers. He talks about how he doesn't have faith in his misfortune powers not backfiring and landing on his target.
But, just like when he was lamenting for being an outcast, Haru steps in to comfort Sano again. Haru, the one who has shown that he trusts and knows the true potential of Sano, tells him simply that he believes him. Haru effortlessly gives Sano the same ease that got him out of all his previous "bad feelings spirals". He so genuinely and enthusiastically cheers and reminds Sano that he know he can do it.
☆Chapter 92。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。:+* ゚ ゜゚ *+:。.。.。:+*゚
Tumblr media
And now its Haru's turn to have a lowest point. Faced with patching up a hole in an ancient barrier, he gets overwhelmed about how he can quickly fix the problem.
And sano quickly asserts that Haru can do. He chooses to pay Haru back for continuing believing in him. He knows Haru can do it.
And this really shows how well the two know each other. When Haru was cheering on Sano, he was doing a very passionate cheer, constantly showing full support and belief in Sano.
But with Sano cheering on Haru, he knows how to motivate him and keep his mind on track. He treats him like an adult who just needs to be reminded a bit.
They both know the best ways to help the other in these moments. And really that just shows the natural evolution of this relationship that you can see naturally growing over the whole course of the manga. I may not know where they go in the future but I do know that this a bond that won't easily break!
Tumblr media
Finally were done!!! OMG these boys and their relationship with each other!!!!
Again hoped you enjoyed it!!!
Bye~☆

Carnival Theory:
Ever since RUIN, we've known a game codenamed Carnival is coming and we've been getting a lot of hints related to carnivals, circuses, and more that links back to well before Security Breach and throughout HW2
Fall Fest is a recurring name that has cropped up since CoD. The name suggests it is some kind of autumn event and thanks to HW2, we have reason to believe it is a carnival that started in the 70s. Thanks to other info, we have reason to believe it was open in 83 as well
On top of that, it seems Fallfest is relevant to the old 80s Freddy Fazbear's cast in 1983-1985, making Fall Fest potentially an FE-run operation that dated back to before Freddy's
Circling back to CoD, where Fallfest was first named, HW2 gives us a lot of carnival connections to the Hub of Cod, with both Fazerblast and Carousel being set in that hub world. On top of that, Carnie's name literally means someone who works in a carnival
The carousel, contrary to what we thought before HW2, is not from the Pizzaplex. It is an "antique carousel" that was seemingly part of Fallfest. But more importantly, it seems it was made in or after 1987 as it features not just the classics but the Toys as well
The Fallfest carnival appears to be an event that has spanned many generations, from 1970, to 1983, to 1987. There are even signs of a carnival operation going on as late as 2023 and into the years before the Pizzaplex was finished
Now, sure, carnivals and fallfest are repeating motifs. Great, we can all see that. But there's another motif that keeps cropping up: the fallfest burning down. The barn in Carousel burns down and Carnie's fazerblast booth does too. Two fires in the same area
And let us not forget Ruin showcasing a set of VERY old mascot costumes, two of which are very carnival themed (lion and elephant-clown) alongside repeating that date of 1970. These old mascots and our old brown fredbear/dy could link back to the unexplained Singin Show
And now we come to the big important part of all this: the thing that ties all the carnival stuff together, all the 70s, and 80s, and mascot costumes, and fires
The Mimic has an undeniable carnival theme to him. Trapped with all these carnival suits, even wearing a mix of them. One of Mimic's most important costumes was even a jester: the first one it truly wore and the one it was springlocked in.
Mimic’s chase theme even has a circus motif that cuts in. It’s an odd choice for an endoskeleton’s theme… unless carnival is somehow important to it
One of the biggest hanging mysteries about Mimic is his body in the epilogues. He was burned and seemingly lost his head. This damage has never actually been explained... yet
With carnival looming on the horizon, I don't think it will be a game set after Ruin, but rather before, likely showing us how FE started in the 1970s. It likely won't be IN the 70s, but will be in one of the later Fallfests, maybe 85 or 87. There, we will see the fire that Mimic was involved in. It would be the perfect way to wrap up the questions about Mimic's past along with providing a great way to properly introduce the Mimic in the games since I'm sure Scott is aware a lot of people aren't following the books
TL;DR: Fallfest is a carnival that FE started in the 70s and went on into the 2020s and it was where the company came from. Steel Wool has been teasing it as the setting of a game along with a fire in the past and Mimic was most likely involved in that.
Interesting idea!

I need to go to sleep but I noticed something.
Heads up though because this is spoilers for nevermore chapter 83. Maybe? Idk.
Anyway a couple chapters earlier when Pluto goes to get Lenore he ran into the wall on the way out of the room. Lenore commented later that his black eye was so bad he could hardly see. Then I’m chapter 83 we see a flashback of Pluto’s dad hitting him in the face with his hand that is a hook and a lot of blood coming from his eye. In that flashback we see both of Plutos eyes and his hair is styled differently. In the academy he’s got his angsty little hair-over-one-eye thing going on and even when I’m his spectre form we only see one glory eye. He must have changed his hair style when he got to Nevermore with no memory of what happened to his eye. My only question is how long did it take him to change his hairstyle? We know he and Prospero are roomies (off topic but we as a fandom need to discuss this more fr) and that Prospero is severely unnerved by blood and injuries. Could Prospero’s reaction been what prompted Pluto to cover his wound? Could that have potentially factored into his reasons for wanting to leave Pluto with Duke and Lenore in the maze.

I'm getting tired of "Marvel is DOOMED" hot takes.
Marvel has definitely had a problem with consistency of quality lately. But they are still putting out a lot of cool shit. I loved the last Spider-Man. I thought She-Hulk was super fun as long as you understood its intention. Loki was great. I really enjoyed Dr. Strange though I know that got a mixed reaction. I didn't think the Ms. Marvel series wasn't as good as it could have been, but I loved the casting and think she has the potential to do great things in the future. The What If? series was fantastic.
The last Thor movie had some great things in it, but it just didn't work as a whole. But I don't think that means the franchise is doomed or that Taika is done as a director. It is really hard to make a movie and it is even harder to make a good movie. And I think Taika came really close to making a good movie and just stumbled with jarring shifts in tone and the underutilization of Christian Bale.
It happens.
Wakanda Forever had some problems (wing feet) but I think it was still an entertaining and touching film. OMG... the Guardians Christmas special? So great! Moon Knight started off great and fizzled out. But again, some potential there. I also loved the Hawkeye show and I really want to see Hailee Steinfeld do more with that character. Black Widow was fine but not great, but it set up Florence Pugh and David Harbor who nailed those roles and could do fun stuff.
Marvel has so many places it can go and I think once they figure out how to move on without some of the OG Avengers, they can get their consistency back to where it was. And I am hoping the slower pace of releases they are planning will allow them to treat their VFX artists better and give them the time to make the top notch visuals they are capable of.
I think there is a lot to love still. And if there are people who are fatigued or no longer interested, that's fine. No one is forcing anyone to watch this content. I will happily watch it by myself on my new bigass TV.
I love superheroes and I need escapism to function mentally. Marvel content has always been the best at serving that purpose for me. I'm in it till I die or it dies.
But I don't see how it is DOOMED because critics didn't care for Ant-Man. I mean, the audience score is still at 83%.
Can we at least see some X-Men shit before people take Marvel out back and shoot it?

Susano'o Theory Bones:
Tumblr media
First: What lead me to look into Susanoo in the first place was a mention of Kushihime in Clash! Oh Ye gods of Calamity. Upon looking into her I had to of course, look into her husband. And immediately he reminded me of Yato’s behavior.
Tumblr media
Second: While Yato mentions that Yukine is scared of the dark, Yukine mentions that same chapter how Yato hates storms. Since the beginning of my looking into the theory it has always made sense that he would despise his own nature.
Tumblr media
Fourth: The reoccurring motif of storms through the series while we still have no sign of the storm god.
“I wonder if Yato has another name too… I’ll go ask Mayu about Yato after I stop by the team room…”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now onto a very rough comparison of folk lore!
Susano'o is a key figure and works as a foil to Amaterasu through in many points of the mythology, many of the events of the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki cannot exist without him, yet, he is no where in Noragami as it stands. But as I will list below, we still see some of those stories interpreted... but with Yato in place of Susano'o-no-Mikoto.
Susano'o was born of Izanagi’s nose in the Kojiki. Yato is constantly shown with a runny nose.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was sent to Ne no Kuni by Izanagi after his birth because he wailed to be with his mother.
Yato was sent to Yomi after wailing to be reunited with Hiyori and Yukine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Ne no Kuni translates to “land of roots” but it has been associated with the underworld in just about everything I have read.) fun fact! We have seen Yato demonstrate he may have some sort of control over Ayakashi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The heaven arc is honestly where the most was shoved in our faces. Susano'o is the god who slew Yamata no Orochi and retrieved Kusanagi from its belly.
In the heaven arc Yato is who takes down Take’s dragon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The trial by pledge is known as “ukei” which is the same ritual that was performed by Susano'o and Amaterasu to determine his innocence. Each party took an item from the other and was chewed on them to produce children. The party to produce daughters would be seen in the right and the party to produce sons, wrong.

Susano'o was declared in the right, and upon winning was so overwhelmed with joy he proceeded to make a mess of Amaterasu’s weaving hall and flayed her horses. (Normal person behavior, I know.) And that is, in one of the accounts, when he was banished!
Tumblr media
Those primarily in order they appear in Noragami and not the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki but hopefully it is enough to express why I am so in love with this theory! There are also other more humorous moments and little call outs which I adore.
At the beginning of the series, in chapter one, Yato makes mention of how stormy it is, and then sneezes, which can indicate someone is talking about you.
Tumblr media
At the divine party Yamata no Orochi gets mentioned, directly across from that, and paneled to the same size, we see a “gloomy” Yato drinking by himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In chapter 83, we see Take with his perm and watch Kofuku break the rafters of Izumo Shrine down on him in a way that is very similar to how Ookuninushi and Suseribime managed to hold of Susano'o to get out of the underworld. This may in fact be a call out to this story. This is also potentially quite punny, as one of Susano'o-no-Mikoto's titles is Takehaya-Susano'o-no-Mikoto.
Tumblr media
While it is Take in the scene, we see Coo phone, and black cats which are both associated with Yato through the series. But of course, black cats could also just be bad luck. (Poor kitties)
Tumblr media
I adore that Ookuninushi is in this shot too. It’s just too perfect.
On the note of the above story!
In this tale, Ookuninushi received scarves from Suseribime to protect him from the trials Susanoo set him on. At the end of the tale, he receives a sword, as well as a bow and arrows from Susano'o.
And what is Rekki’s vessel form?
Exactly that-
Tumblr media
I would like to end, with the manifold fence.
“Ah, a manifold fence.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus:
I FORGOT MY FAVORITE
For shame.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I need to add this because I can’t stop thinking about it. “In other words, you’re the invisible hand of nature.” Also, the pesti-germ is a reference to pestilence. Which Susano’o is associated with via Gozu Tenno. While Father, in this case, is associated with the Capyper.
Tumblr media
This has been my first attempt to back up a Twitter thread! Thank you for bearing with me as I know these are probably strange in bullet point format on Tumblr. The other two are a bit more complicated, so I will get to those at a different time.

Tsuna and Enma got his ancestor recklessness and this is the reason why:
- Cozart and Enma: the same "my family own one-of-a-kind flame and when time calls, your got a whole earthquake coming at you" type. Cozart with his whole "50vs20000" battle and Enma whacked a ceremony of the very top mafia family having not even 10 people on his army. And they do it PUBLIC.
- Giotto and Tsuna: this comparison is a little bit more tricky, as Tsuna as we all know was like, spent 80% of his time panicking while trying to adapt to the chaotic surrounding. So, I'm gonna put a version of him on the scale: 270 aka Sawada Tsunayoshi of the Future-Never-Be aka the ikemen we never know of his face:
Take a look in what he did in canon:
Destroyed Vongola rings - the heirloom, one part of the world system, the ultimate weapon in the middle of a war. (Of course I know he did it with good reason, as Yamamoto said)
Suicide. No one die accidentally when having a whole scheme going on like that, the most suited word in this situation is "suicide". (And yeah later on we know he faked his death, but admit it, faking death under Byakuran's nose required a bunch of courage here. And more importantly, he did it without his ring. Impressive move, but still a borderline suicidal one)
The most iconic one: Brought his past self, his friends and guardians' past selves, which was, KIDS, to the hugest battle with a numerous-worlds-destroyed maniac. If that wasn't enough, he brought his past self's crush, his past self's crush's friend, which was not only kids but also citizens HAVING NO ABILITY TO DEFEND THEMSELVES WHATSOEVER. To be what? To be his past self's determination to get imporved and win the battle. And Future!Tsuna did it WITHOUT telling his guardians, except for Hibari. Look at this and tell me he was not messed up in the head a little, I dare you.
The reckless part in this: Future!Tsuna had no way to make sure 14!Tsuna having 100%, absolute possibility to WIN against Byakuran. He only regarded 14!Tsuna as "the me with the most potential", not "the me that can win against Byakuran." Imagine this like a card deck - you have somewhat good hand but there is no way you know you're gonna win. And what did Future!Tsuna bet in this game? His (past self's) life, his guardians' life, two innocent girls' life, and the Vongola family itself was also thrown onto the bet table. (Because the truth is that, if 14!Tsuna lost, the whole Vongola will go down. Maybe the world too, see how many worlds Shouichi had seen Byakuran destroyed)
Future-Never-Be!Tsuna is just a possibility of what Tsuna can become, but with that little information, you can't tell me this man wasn't reckless and crazy just like someone he looked alike to.
Also, do you see the pattern here?
The pattern of "I die but my past self, which is, me in some ways, will come over and kick your ass and give you numerous headaches", do you see the familiarity?
Yeah.
The birth of CEDEF.
Giotto's way to be the nuisance to the next boss (who he had a dispute with) even when he went for a continent and a ocean away.
Aka, summarize as "even if I'm absent from the picture I will continue be your problem, one you absolutely can NOT get rid of until I feel done." Ruthless and bloodthirsty Secondo can not get rid of CEDEF, Byakuran can not get rid of 14!Tsuna.
Like great-great-great-grandfather, like great-great-great-grandson.
Note: in here I am an advocate of "The Earth is more reckless (and maybe crazy, maybe) than the Sky." Cozart and Giotto I don't have information. (but Giotto was driven to speechlessness once and scream in utter surprise at Cozart's face twice, that said something) But no one can tell me Enma was not reckless than Tsuna. Or at least more battle-trained. Or at least inherited his ancestor's trait sooner.
Just look at how they react when first time meeting Varia member.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Tsuna in Varia Arc. (Chapter 83)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Enma in Rainbow War Arc. (Chapter 359)
Both are their first time meeting and being attacked by Varia.
The difference is clear as a day I think I don't need more demonstration.
By the way, we don't know if Earth flames operate differently from Sky flames or not, but if they operate in the same way, Enma did all the waging war with Vongola and fighting solo with Varia (4 members of them) with such sheer determination and will that he didn't need any drug to get into HDW mode.
While Tsuna still need the drug when facing off Iemitsu in the Rainbow War. You can not tell me Simon Decimo was not trained for battle than his friend at the same position in Vongola if this case is true.

Reposting my FNAF Movie thoughts into its own post bc I realized a reblog wont show up in the tags! WARNING MAJOR FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S GAME, BOOK, AND MOVIE SPOILERS!!!
First off the movie is set in a different timeline/universe from the games and books but does have parallels to both. A majority of the parallels are with the Silver Eyes trilogy except of course the role of Mike is closer to that of Charlie, rather than Mike Schmitt's namesake Michael Afton.
The role switches and changes are as follows:
William Afton > Himself
Michael Afton > Vanessa/Elizabeth Afton
Charlie Emily > Mike Schmidt
Sunny Emily > Garrett Schmidt
Abby Schmidt > New Character
Mike's Unnamed Father > Henry Emily (most likely)
Golden Freddy Child > Potentially Evan
Michael and Evan Afton may not exist in the movie universe, similar to how in the Silver Eyes trilogy Elizabeth is the only of Afton's children that is mentioned. The bite of '83 does not happen in the books and an unrelated character named Michael (Scott likes this name I guess) inhabits Golden Freddy instead of Evan. We do see the child ghost assigned to Golden Freddy in the movie, but we don't get any other information about him. He is given more emphasis than the other children, has more speaking roles, and shares a meaningful (?) look with William at the very end of the movie. There is also the line that William says to Vanessa during their fight; "This all started because of you." If Vanessa had a similar role to Michael in this universe, she could have caused the bite of '83 which was the first death within the game series (with a canon date given) and is theorized by many to have been the catalyst of William's murders. So that would mean that this child who represents Golden Freddy would be Evan or at least Vanessa's sibling. Visually they do look like they could be siblings, with them both being fair skinned and blonde.
Vanessa's role is very reminiscent of Elizabeth's in the books. She knows about her father's crimes and is desperate for his approval and attention, despite the abuse he put her through. The key differences are that Vanessa lives to adulthood and that she resists her father's control rather than being consumed by it. It is very likely that Vanessa Monroe's real name in the movie universe is actually Elizabeth Afton, since she could be going by a different alias in adulthood, like how William is going by Steve Raglan. Her position in the story is closer to Michael's in the games: The sole living child of Afton who tries to put a stop to their father's crimes.
Mike Schmidt's role in the story is a bit more mysterious. I believe that he is meant to be the son of this universe's Henry Emily. Not much evidence for this is shown in the movie, aside from William recognizing Mike's last name in his files (though this could be attributed to him recognizing Mike as the brother of a child he killed, but he seemed very shaken up which makes me think it's deeper than that). However Mike's experiences and backstory are very similar to that of Charlie Emily in the books. Aunt Jane could be a parallel to Henry's canon sister: Aunt Jen. Aunt Jen raised Charlie in the books after Henry committed suicide, similar to how Aunt Jane is trying to get custody of Abby after the suicide of her father. Charlie holds a lot of guilt and trauma over the kidnapping of her brother Sammy, just like how Mike is dealing with the trauma of his brother Garrett getting kidnapped. Mike says in the movie that he feels closer to his dead brother while at the restaurant, which made me think of how Charlie follows a similar intuition with places where she feels closer to her own dead brother (it gets complicated in the books but at this point she had thought it was her brother's spirit). Mike's apparent lack of knowledge about the Fazbear Franchise or the murders is very problematic for this theory, but the other parallels just feel too intentional to ignore. If the movies are going to have the same crazy twists and scifi logic as the books, many inconsistencies can be excused with that sort of thing. For example, maybe Mike was the one who was kidnapped instead of Garrett and he is actually a super realistic robot implanted with false memories recorded by his father who was in grief after his death? (< Charlie's actual backstory) Or maybe Abby is the hyper realistic robot that their father made to replace Garrett? The possibilities are endless with this series, although I wouldn't object to a more simple approach for the movies.
That being said, this new universe could be read exactly as it has been explained thus far in the movie: William Afton has a daughter named Vanessa Monroe. Mike Schmidt is an unrelated party whose brother was killed by William Afton. Personally I would prefer if it was more complicated than that, but that's just me!
Let me know what you think!

FNAF Gregory theory
Does anyone else think Gregory looks like an older version of the Crying Child specifically from the 4th game where we can see him in color. They both have brown hair, dark eyes, fair skin, and wear a shirt with two stripes on it. Now, obviously they're not the same person because we saw what happened to CC in FNAF 4 (bite of '83). When Security Breach came out, everyone was confused about who Gregory was and why Glamrock Freddy says that he's "broken" at the beginning of the game as we never found out how he was broken. You know who else is called broken by a Freddy variant? The crying child at the end of night 6. What else was said at the end of night 6? "I will put you back together." This may be a stretch, but it could also be the reason why Glamrock Freddy also glitched out in the opening credits. It's for all of these reasons that I personally believe that Gregory is a robot version of the Crying Child who's been "put back together" either by Vanessa doing Afton's bidding or potentially even Michael Afton unintentionally following in his father's footsteps. Last I knew, he wasn't dead in the game cannon, but I could be wrong.
Also, I don't know if someone's already done this theory and I'm just being a broken record, but I thought of this while I was adding CC to a list of characters I wanted to cosplay as and Gregory was right below him.

Consider. Sammy Emily being an important character
Sammy being Michael's age, so they grow up together, thoroughly inseparable
Sammy being the only person NOT scared off by Michael, seeing Michael as he actually is instead of the front Michael puts up
Sammy being the Bonnie in their friend group, being the only person that sticks around with Michael after the bite of 83
Sammy and Michael's friendship mirroring that of Williams and Henry's, but so much better (and maybe more than friendship if we wanna go down the ship route)
Look. Sammy had wasted potential and I'm taking his character and running with it
