In a lot of video games, books, movies and entertainment with knight in the medieval times, there’s “classes”; paladins, berserker etc... what were they based on in the real world? Like, paladin is quite obvious... but berserker?

Berserker is largely based upon the idea of a barbarian or warrior that enters a trance or frenzy in battle. Examples of this exist within various cultures, but the most prominent example would in the Western mind be the Norse berserkers of the Vikings, who apparently went into a frenzy to such an extent they ignored damage dealt to them in combat.

I believe @wearebarbarian shall tell you more. ;P

Hi there, I only recently got into DnD and I was wondering if you know of any we-are-barbarian blogs? My current OC is a barb so I wanted to see more stuff related to the class, but when I tried searching Tumblr for one, nothing came up (there was one blog but it wasn't even a DnD blog from what I was seeing).
