Worldbuilding and human kink? Is it my birthday /lh. This has me googling “halfling sex” and being a little surprise someone has thought about it enough to write a generously large paragraph.
Apparently it’s not uncommon for them to have more casual sex with close neighbors and friends indulging in it together. I genuinely think it would be hilarious for a halfling with a human, elf, drow, orc, dwarf, etc (the more uptight races) friend/neighbor to ‘seduce’ and then being very friendly and kind, but not exclusive or even inherently romantic.
Halflings 🤝 Humans
Being horny on main.
Oh my god imagine a poly relationship that's a human who thinks this is a casual friends with benfits deal, a halfing who thinks everyone here is just friends, and one high elf who acts as if they're robbing a bank whenever they watch the human go down on the halfing.
Add a dragonborn who is sweating over which one of those people is gonna end up as their mate for life, who isn't phased by the sex but it's the romance part that's considered a big taboo in their culture to even date someone for love, so imagine seeing more tha one person?
High elves being sex repressed 🤝 Dragonborns being romance repressed
Also I really love world building AAAAA i wanna invent shit and make shit up and shake it around like a snow globe. I believe elves went to the moon much sooner than humans with just magic, dwarves have found fallen space rocks and meteors and used them to forge their weapons, winged elves or any species who can fly already mapped the world and drew all the know maps before humans even learned how to tame horses.
Also the horses is funny, elves has seen them all their lives but never bothered to tame it because it feels weird yk? Why would they ride on an animal, plus their cousin is a centaur so it feels even more weird.
Then they see the humans coaxing the horses with carrots while holding a saddle behind their back, skip a few years and suddenly the horse population skyrockects as humans steal this one animal to their side.
Imagine being a wood elf and in harmony with all of nature, then glancing over at the human city and feeling very confused on what these weird wolves are and why do the humans call them dogs, also why are they obeying the humans and holy shit that one is wearing bowtie.
Occasionally humans just wander into the forest, spot an animal that seems semi useful then kidnap it back to their city, suddenly their population spikes and they're the new best friends of humanity.
It happened the other way with cats tho, the wood elves remember overhearing two cats talking about the hairless apes wandering around and how one was betting the other that they can get them to share their food by just screaming at them.
Humans probably inspired their cuisine based on halflings' recipes since they didn't add soul consuming spices for fun like elves and didn't sprinkle in literal gem and gold dust like dragonborns.
A human with a Halfling neighbour who comes over every other day to share their stew because "they accidentally made too much and can't possibly finish it all themselves so how about you grab a bowl or two, human?"
One day the human makes a joke about how they're a simp or going to horny jail, whatever modern shitposting meme is trending, and the halfling takes it seriously and offers to sleep with them.
I mean, that is basic neighbourly hospitality to them. Of course they will fuck their friend who is in need, you don't even have to ask twice, come here and lay down and they'll take care of you until satisfied.
Now their trips over to your house are twice as frequent, half to feed you their cooking, other half to sate your lust appetite.

Ok so, I ask a lot about our favorite boi (Centi... my Beloved...) however I was wondering if you have any interesting thoughts about other characters in the castle (Which, assuming is similar to canon and is only Sunvent).
As a result I have three big questions! One, which is based on almost every universe having eclipse drinking massive amounts of tea, does he like tea/ can eat? Two, does he interact with the world's inhabitants outside of when eclipse does, and does he enjoy it when he does (even if eclipse is there?)
finally three, since in most AU it is explained that the reason eclipse isn't rotting from the star power is because he is using something else as a conduit (a servant, since every surviving lord has a servant). does eclipse use sun as a conduit system, and how do you head canon that effects him?
if these are completely irrelevant its totally fine if you can only answer one or two (or if you just feel like answering a bit of this, I'm just happy to brain rot in the Centi box)
Anyway here is this as ask box rent
Tumblr media
DEAR BELOVED MUTUAL JUSTAFUNKYDUDE DID U KNOW U R MY LIFEBLOOD. I ADORE ALL UR WORLDBUILDING QUESTIONS IT FILLS ME WITH AN ENDLESS JOY
1) I think technically Lord Eclipse could eat/drink (nanobots and/or star power stuff) but I think he simply chooses not to unless it's for dramatic effect, yk? (hence the lack of mouth) Like, I drew him with a wine glass one time, but it was definitely just for dramatic effect and to seem like he's "casual" in the situation rather than to actually enjoy it LOL
2) I'm assuming you mean Sunvant here and in that case: yes, he does actually interact with the other followers a good bit and yes, I'd say he usually enjoys it(and probably especially with Lord Eclipse there)! Or, like, during the earlier years at least. Since Sun was basically Lord Eclipse's right-hand, he was regarded with as much respect as Eclipse himself! His very presence was like a morale boost LOL
But, I think that as Lord Eclipse started to become less and less sociable, Sun started to be recognized less as "the saint" and more "the favorite" which led to colder or outright cruel treatment from some. He still goes out and interacts with other people, but a good outing is no longer defined by how many people he helps and instead by how many people don't outright taunt him </3
3) OH YESYES I'VE HEARD OF THAT IDEA !!! Anima Sola was my first introduction to the concept and it is so cool to me LMAO 🙏 I don't think Sunvant is used as a conduit in this world tho?? Maybe. I dunno that might be subject to change now actually LOL
I feel like if Centiclipse did use Sun in such a way, there wouldn't be too too much change?? or. well. mmm??? Not too much change in the dynamic, but maybe a bit of change in what is focused on, if that makes any sense.
Lord Eclipse telling Sun that if he wants to stay his servant and hold onto such a power, then he needs to act like it(not that he would ever get rid of Sun, he needs him too much). Sun being horrified at his own fantasies of finding a way to rip out the connection between him and Eclipse. OOO maybe certain dissenters would try to kill Sun in hopes of taking down Eclipse.....
I dunno, I'll definitely say it's fun to entertain!! It's almost a dlc sorta idea! It just adds on to what was already there and makes it a little more angsty LOL

i have a quastion. what is dungeon meshi like i’ve considered watching the anime since it looks amusing…. i trust you as an authority on this hence why i’m in your asks :3c
Dungeon Meshi is so good!!!
So Ryoko Kui (the author of the manga) is a super super great artist and writer in general, and her knowledge of intimate and expansive worldbuilding, including the cultures of different fantasy races is VERY apparent in dunmesh without being super in your face. It strikes a perfect balance between showing and implying and telling; giving you information when you need it but not holding your hand throughout the process. Ecology and biology of creatures and the places (mostly dungeons but yk) is SUPER important and expanded upon in the story. It scratches my Creature autism SOOO well. And all of the characters are VERY distinct and fun AND THE DESIGNS FUCK SOOO HARD. Dungeon Meshi has become one of my favorite series of all time, because it's so. so fucking profound. There are a LOT of funny moments and gags but there's an equal amount of genuinely serious and emotional moments. The character dynamics. GOD. Cannot recommend it enough.
Also. Dungeon Meshi is super fucking horny. LMAO. Not in a "fanservice-y" way (in fact, there is only ONE character that ever gets upskirt/panty shots and it is Senshi, the bearded dwarf man. He's my fave btw <3). But dunmeshi uses consumption (and to a lesser/technical extent cannibalism as well) as a... metaphor for love and obsession, and frequently eroticizes it. I hesitate to say metaphor because it's honestly VERY obvious lmao. Especially with how genuinely autistic Laios is about monsters and eating them. Then there's also transformation and change that's also VERY eroticized. A lot of the focus of Dungeon Meshi is desire. How people experience it, and just how far people will go for it. Which, again, is super eroticized a LOT. All done in a tasteful(? not sure if this is the right word but yk) way and not in a surface level "LOOK, SEX!!!!!!!!!" way. Not that there's anything inherently WRONG with being horny and not being like profound about it but I'm just trying to make a point lol
Now to specifically talk about the anime since that's what you mentioned wanting to watch (though I REALLY reccommend the manga, it is fucking GORGEOUS and there are so many hilarious panels that haven't been brought over to the anime, despite how well it's been doing with that so far. It just happens with turning a manga into an anime yk?)! It's doing a really good job so far!! The only issues I have are relatively nitpicky (I've gone into detail abt it if you wanna see here) and more of an issue with modern anime overall so! They're doing a really great job of translating over from the page to the screen and the voice acting work (both the original japanese and english dub) is really fucking good. And I don't typically like modern english dubs. The layout of the episodes is really nice so far too, centering around the "dish/es of the day" without feeling too constrictively like your typical "monster of the week" type episodes. It helps that Dungeon Meshi as a media itself strikes a really good balance between that and its storytelling. Though again. Laios is genuinely SO fucking autistic about monsters and eating them lmao and the series focuses on him/his party so! There's so much good in depth discussion about monsters, both their biology (especially in relation to their taste hehe) as well as their natures, and ecology!
I'm also really a fan of netflix releasing the episodes weekly instead of dropping them all at once. It's refreshing coming from netflix specifically considering their... track record.
But anyway yeah! TYSM Marty for coming to me about this and letting me go on an autistic talk about it!! I only apologize for not being more specific, but a lot of my dunmesh posting (reblogs anyway since I'm pretty sure the posts I've MADE about it have been relatively vague??) is already pretty spoilery and I'm a firm believer in a first watch/read being as spoiler free as possible!! It makes subsequent rewatches/rereads all the more fun to me personally <3 Though that's obviously up to you lol

i’m very very curious about your arthurian retelling! who are the central characters? what do you find most interesting/exciting/compelling about them? what are your arthurian sources & inspirations (be that medieval texts or modern retellings)?
Hey there anon! Thank you so much for asking this question - this is going to be a bit of a long answer but I get the feeling that won't be an issue :D (Maybe grab a snack?)
Firstly I'll explain why I'm using 'reimagining' rather than 'retelling', namely it's because of moving Arthur and co into a high fantasy setting rather than just Britain etc. which, while of course there will be analogues, there's going to be a bigger part that other fantasy species play. Christian themes and I guess, reasonings, aren't found but linger where appropriate (Grail Quest is there but but Galahad doesn't like yk go to Heaven afterwards) as some media I've been inspired from as well as I think a big thing of Arthur's legend of moving from one world into another whether that be Pagan -> Christian or Anglo-Saxon -> Britain(* all the big asterisks there because yk fiction and history not aligning).
Characters
Oh boy. Firstly I'd like you to check out the chart that was added to the wikipedia for King Arthur's Family: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Arthur%27s_family *how I wish this was there last year :sob:* and basically this kinda gives a good scope of characters I have 'webbed' out. I've gone to both Welsh and French texts for inspiration since Welsh includes Arthur's trips to the underworld ( ;) ) and French is when we get Lancelot and the Grail Quest. Firstly know I have taken some liberties both in Arthur's family tree as well as some creative ways that account for say multiple parents (Lancelot is recorded as being the son of a King but also as a son of The Lady of the Lake ~plot reasons~ they're separate uh, instances lets say ;) of his parents in my story). But in terms of characters whose voice I have a pretty good grasp of, their emotional arc(s) and a clear image in my mind of what they look like are (and grouped for no particular reason...):
Arthur, Lancelot, Gwen, and two others in their polycule.*
Igraine, Uther, and Gorloris.**
Merlin <- think druidic Loki vibes, he's a pain in my ass and I love him.
Hector his daughter Ser Kay.
Nimue and The Lady of the Lake.
Morgause and her son Mordred.
Madoc and his brother Mark.
Morgaen and how they were separated from Arthur at birth.
... The notion database I've created by pulling all the characters from sources comes to 258 but the above lists some uh key figures that are fleshed out as protagonists, antagonists, and anti-heroes.
(*) I'll get to Arthur/Lance/Gwen's triad a bit more below, but what I will say is that polycule is an important term here as everyone isn't with everyone, if that makes sense? But imagine found family five-man-band vibes.
(**) SO fun fact, when I watched the movie Merlin as a kid I misheard Gorlois as Goloris so I just kinda stuck with it. Unsure if that'll upset people too much though aha.
Why Tho? Exciting/Interesting/Compelling reasons why these characters have my soul.
I'm a big fan of Fairy Tales, Folklore, and Mythology. Seeing comparisons and also seeing both the Disney-fied versions but also the original tales. Arthurian legends has scratched an itch of dragons, knights, and magic that I've loved and is also shared by other stories too - which in part is why I'm spending so much time worldbuilding up front so I have a whole world sandbox to play in and tell some other tales too with it.
Why did I go with Arthur instead of say the Little Mermaid & Harpy sapphic reimagining I've got stashed? Honestly? Because he answered the call to adventure - the quest I have planned - but also because the Arthur I have in my mind, a big theme for him is Courage and doing the thing even though you're scared to which I resonate with a lot. Lancelot came stumbling in as his best friend from their squire days after disappearing for a few years for a second chance romance plot. Gwen butting heads with her twin sister had a certain, fire let's say ( ;) ), that need to pull these two dorks out of their heads while also exploring themes of empowerment. Mordred's arc which I hope to pull off as well as Zuko's was. Merlin, whom I love, was the one who revealed the world to me and really sparked the magic of it all. But then two scenes came to my mind, in full colour and with a big emotional impact.
Arthur and Morgaen's next meeting after finding out they're siblings.
Lancelot's lost memories returning and Arthur knighting the man who had turned to stone to save him.
I'll need to go through and make a full list of tags eventually but uh, lots of Angst/Hurt/Comfort mixed in with wholesome moments. I'm leaning towards potentially writing in a serial format and also doing maybe side stories from different character perspectives.
Sources & Inspirations
In terms of Arthurian specific things:
Welsh sources: Black Book of Carmarthen; Red and White books of Hergest; Culhwch and Olwen; Mabinogion; and the Welsh Triads.
Geoffrey of Monmouth, notably for Arthur's connection to the Roman Empire and characters from that region.
French sources: Le Mort de Arthur, Tristan and Iseult, Perceval and other stories such as Lancelot and the Knight of the Cart (I cackled a bit when I read that one ngl).
I tend to listen to the Myths and Legends podcast by Jason (something) who will be coming out with an Arthurian book sometime which I am keeeen for.
In terms of post-medieval things, there's a lot of nodding to fairy tales such as Tom Thumb and any story where Jack is mentioned.
Merlin the 1998 miniseries with Sam Neill. (This is the one that I misheard Golois as Goloris aha.)
The Mists of Avalon 2001 miniseries. (I haven't read the books and don't plan to support the author or that estate in any way due to the abuse she aided and abetted in).
Sword and the Stone is a classic Disney film but the main thing here I took inspiration from was to really highlight The Great Game in some way... Which is also a nod to Talesin in the Mabinogian. Also enjoyed Quest for Camelot as well.
There's a sapphic scifi retelling that I love called Once and Future.
And I also watched King Arthur's Disasters as a kid which, ngl I prefer the Welsh versions where he's a badass but this was amusing at the time.
In terms of non-Arthurian sources and inspirations, oh boy this gets quite long but basically from the above there are offshoots that I've done in terms of exploring:
Other Welsh tales.
Folklore of Europe as well as Ireland, Scotland, and Britain.
A lot of dabbling in comparative mythology and folklore as well as such as the Aarne-Thompson-Uther Index for folklore to create some original but familiar folk heroes and lore for my world.
Consuming pretty much everything on Overly Sarcastic Productions.
I've mentioned that Avatar the Last Airbender and Fullmetal Alchemist are two comparative points of media: the first being for the elemental magic system as well as just some solid worldbuilding and character arcs - one of my blocks with writing is that I have like this big epic quest, various wholesome slice of life moments, deep emotional beats, but then also some spicey scenes that come to mind; the latter is mainly for a nod to alchemy, and magitech as well as some character beats.
I've also mentioned ASOIAF and really want to highlight that there won't be any inc##t at all in my books. There will be dark themes such as abuse of power, manipulation, and there will be people who get hurt or take advantage of, but I just really don't like that plot beat at all. Hence why Mordred is no Arthur's son.
*flops* Okay thank you for sticking with me through all of that. Let me know if you have more questions or if you'd like me to elaborate on anything! Thank you again for your question, it means a lot that people are finding it interesting (helps stop the imposter syndrome voices yk?)

every book i read in september 2023
i did in fact bring this back because i thought it would be fun and all my followers should know that before everything, i am a book nerd. i genuinely think i only feel like i'm alive when i'm reading regularly. no spoilers for any of the books i talk about because i can only have one cut per post
before i get into the books here's some general info on reading stuff this month. so i read 9 books which i'm really proud of myself for after being in a reading slump for ages. i was still reading then but i really was not enjoying myself nearly as much as i was in previous months and i'm really enjoying myself now. 5 of the books i read were physical copies of them, 1 was an ebook, and 3 were audiobooks. my average rating was 4.29/5 and read a total of 13.78 hours on audiobook and 2476 of pages shout out to storygraph for all this info i am telling you use storygraph if you want to track your reading its so great
the cruel prince. i really liked this surprisingly??? the worldbuilding was great and i loved all the political aspects of it. jude was a really interesting main character and i had a lot of fun with the story (especially the plot twist/s, no i'm not saying if there's more than one). i liveblogged a couple parts of the entire series this month so you can check my tfota tag for more in depth thoughts
the lost sisters. it was pretty interesting to see the plot of the cruel prince from the perspective of a different character but i didn't think much about my enjoyment of it since i was just reading it for more info on the series lol
captain stone's revenge. so i went on a nancy drew diaries binge once and i've been keeping up with the series ever since then just because, and i had a hold on this book for like 2 months at the library and i finished it in a day lol. it's a short book and definitely not as good as other books in the series but yk it wasn't awful still had fun reading
we are okay. this is one of my favorite books and i cried for 40 minutes straight as i finished the last like 50-80 pages. it's a really great exploration of different kinds of grief that are complicated and how it affects people. i posted while reading it "every chapter there's something that makes me take psychic damage" which was very fun but also deeply painful (in a fun way most of the time, sometimes i was in public trying not to cry). the ending is so hopeful it made me cry for a different reason why i was crying for the past 35ish minutes. it's a great book i highly recommend it it's only like 230 pages.
the wicked king. sequel to the cruel prince, i also really enjoyed this but i don't think i enjoyed it as much as the cruel prince. still well written though and i have more in depth thoughts under my tfota and/or reading commentary tags
queen of nothing. 100% my favorite from the trilogy i loved it i thought the characters and plot in this one were all super great and i loved the ending especially. i do have more detailed thoughts that i wrote down for me personally but this is a no spoilers section so i won't share it unless someone asks
cress. this is the 3rd book in the lunar chronicles series and aaaaaaa i loved this so much i had so much fun reading it i love the alternating povs and how they all end up clashing with the dramatic irony in that one scene i loved kai's povs i wanted to keep reading constantly i love these characters so much go read the lunar chronicles please
chalice of the gods. uhhh so i finished this in less than 12 hours i liveblogged it all i really enjoyed it you can see my thoughts there go check it out (cotg or reading commentary tag). a lot of cringe moments (WHY does he mention boomers so much) but i am choosing not to see it i only see percabeth and percy grover friendship content again and i enjoyed reading it
daisy jones and the six. i listened to this on audiobook and it was incredibleeeeeeee the voice actors were amazing it was so entertaining. another taylor jenkins reid book about the drama between famous people and it was very entertaining to read about. stressful at times but overall i liked it. once again there are some notes in the reading commentary tag
i also started winter this month but i am definitely finishing it in october so i don't count it lol

theres so much stuff to talk about im getting overwhelmed (/pos) idk what to focus on first and its not even about the chapter itself yet lmao
latin series and chapter titles? oooh cool, more stuff to look into
like "we keep the names bare"? thats metal as fuck
"so it happens" in itself is interesting and very fitting but in latin its just so much more fancy
I love how their official names are different (and unusual), like wilum, nikanna, tomys, alecs
once again you have something special about names and looking back to the series name I have a feeling there will be moments where the choice between formal name and nickname will be important
(the lengths stories in english have to go to show the border between formal/informal addressing /hj, names have a different beat to them but the technique is actually similar
its a bit sad actually, I feel like so many english texts could go bonkers if "thou" and "ye" still existed and didnt get merged into you)
I mean we already saw something similar in the prequel with phil calling wilbur wilum to show importance of the situation
gotta say, the importance of names is always a bit different and never boring and I love it
origins characters and character traits oh my that opens up so many possibilities i love the sound of this
also just the phil we see in the prequel has some "harsh" qualities, setting kids up against each other which fits o!phil much more than c!phil, so many new traits to play with
excited to see how this might change the characters and relationships and stuff (sandduo is bound to be interesting, not that they werent before, but yk)
looking at tags there's no major character death, should I probably not mention that in comments as not to spoil anyone? or spread fake news
there are other tags that sound really fun tho
before reading the summary I havent even realised that we havent heard about tommys role in all this before in neither the prequel nor the snippets we got
hes thirteen and a problem? oh its going to be a blast
cant wait to see the worldbuilding and fashion in this, youve been so excited about it for so long and I havent seen hotd so im ready to be impressed
the latin series title is one I like quite a bit :)) also the only latin chapter title i think we're going to have is the first one (it also translates to 'so it begins' which I just thought was fitting). maybe the last one too to round it out but i dont plan chapter titles ahead of time so we'll see lmao
oh I had such a fun time coming up with the names. I also struggled so fucking hard LMAO. I think Nikanna is my favorite of the names I came up with, although I thought Alecs and Tomys were clever since it's just alternate spellings. also it hasn't been mentioned in text yet, but Sam's full name is Samuel Aswyn and I'm pretty happy with myself for coming up with Aswyn as a surname equivalent for 'awesamdude'
but yeah there's always going to be an element of importance given to names in a fic like this. like, it's one of my favorite tropes to use. it definitely isn't going to have the same weight as names in glass and stars did, but it'll be there for sure.
you get it though. like, we would benefit SO much if we still used thou and ye because we could go insane in the membrane with the way we write interactions between characters. but alas i just have to create convoluted worldbuilding rules about the roles of names to get my point across instead...
yeah I mean stars!phil definitely had elements of o!phil in him, but it'll definitely be more obvious in rose. also, ngl, a huge part of why I decided to throw osmp in the tags was because I just wanted to write o!sneeg. I fucking love o!phil and o!sneeg's dynamic they're so funny together so when I was like "holy shit I could put sneeg in rose" I knew I had to do it
bestie I don't know where you're looking because major character death is 100% in the tags. like, go do a double take it's in the archive warnings.
yeah a part of me wanted to keep tommy's role entirely a secret until his character got introduced in ch 2, but then I realized I couldn't really write a compelling summary without throwing him in somewhere so I had to bite the bullet and ruin the surprise a bit lol. but yeah he's gonna be GREAT
aaaa thank you so much I'm so glad you're excited for this!! I really hope you guys like this journey we're gonna go on

(You don't have to do all of them there were just so many good ones)
AHH QUESTIONS QUESTIONS!!
1 : do you daydream a lot before you write, or do you go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
GENERALLY, i like to daydream about my work. i think there's only been a handful of times where i jump into the thing IMMEDIATELY. i'll make pinterest boards or playlists or try to at least map it out with someone/myself, then i'll probably start on a sentence, leave it like that for a week until i find it again and abandon the fic that i did the same thing to! it's a whole cycle jfsdjv
12 : do you outline your fics? if yes, how detailed are your outlines? how far do you stray from them?
hhh it depends! i usually always have the beginning and the end played out, and in a rare case somewhat of the middle. and occasionally, if i do have the beginning, middle, and end planned out i'll try to stick with it but if i want to change smth as i'm writing it i'll go ahead and do it,,,,,
13 : do you listen to music while you write? if yes, what have you been listening to recently?
i've been listening to a few different things, but mainly my serenity playlist (even if i'm not writing serenity) aaand occasionally my dsmp playlist cause dsmp music is my guilty pleasure skfsddsc,,, i also like listening to the neighborhood's masterplaylist
18 : do you enjoy research? which fic of yours required the most research?
i do like research, it's fun to take a break from writing so my attention can stay on it longer lol
aaand i think so far swapped has been taking the most research! because a. he's a borrower so i have to look up more simplified words for things, b. there's a fucking language barrier so i've been looking up ways to write it, and c. i've been thinking sooo much about things to include in reference to their body swapping to make emduo & beeduo more skeptical,,,,
22 : do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process?  how do you come up with titles?
generally i'll do it afterwards, i think serenity & soot house are the only ones that i've named beforehand as of recent. i had written curiosity months before i posted it as a non g/t fic and titled it really quickly. when i wrote in my notes i did think of titles first, but now it's always after! and i don't usually come up with them on my own, i use the oh hello or hoizer generator puzzle recommended to me :) tho i did come up with swapped all on my own after like 20 minutes of searching through songs to just land on smth of my own ejsdfjds
aaand i think you meant all the ones between 22 & 30 so WOW let's go
23 : is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? hardest?
the easiest is the beginning because depending on how you start it it'll almost always have a clean flow, then the end because wrapping things up can be kind of difficult but still pretty clean, and then the middle cause idk wtf to put there i didn't plan that far ahead </3
24 : how do you choose whose pov to write in?
hhhh i haven't really thought about it! i usually jump in with the protagonist cause yk it's the easiest. and if i want another story to be told i'll switch povs! it genuinely just comes easy for me with pov switching so i don't put a ton of thought into it,,,,
25 : what’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?
brainstorming/worldbuilding fs, making visuals is always such a fun experience and answering questions to make the world more defined,,,, and writing ofc is also pretty fun of course cause wooo it's coming alive!!
26 : what’s your least favorite part of the writing process?
editing! boooooo
i'm not patient enough to read through my 1.3k fics so i almost never, and that's why i got a proofreader for swapped fejsdjs
27 : what area of writing do you feel strongest in?
i think i'm answering this question correctly by saying scenes? the whole process of adding useless description to some things is really fun and i find that if i get it write i can be good at it!
28 : what area of writing do you want to improve in?
dialogue and foreshadowing! dialogue can be so hard and not just cause it's fic, but because i have trouble balancing my description and dialogue,, i'll add 2 paragraphs of description or internal dialogue stuff before i give a response to a characters question lol
29 : what’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?
UHHHH uh uhhhhh my secret easter eggs i leave for myself! those are the best dsjjfds
30 : how much do you edit your fics? do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?
i don't. i do not edit my fics like ever. and if i do it's always as i'm rereading things i wrote just out of pure curiosity
37 : what fic has been the hardest for you to write?
swapped lol it's 9k words which is way out of my usual word count and the language barrier was a bitch, keeping the writing fluent and making appropriate responses to wilbur's confusion was really difficult in my opinion for the same reason as my answer to q28
42 : what’s your favorite title that you’ve come up with?
if i says swapped one m- my favorite title is the one for swapped! "the waves of the sea (to change or to leave be?)" is pretty cool cause i did reference the ocean a few times in the fic so yeee
43 : is there a trope or idea that you’d really like to write but haven’t yet?
i really want to write that botanist!wilbur & naga!tommy thingy, also the fake fic title thingy with tommy as a test subject that ends at different heights during the day depending on the tests,,, i think that'd be cool! also the one where sapnap noms george and just constantly irritates him LMAO
55 : have you noticed any patterns in your fics? words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
i write giants/humans curling their fingers around the edge of a counter a lot, no idea why
57 : how conscious are you about including symbolism or foreshadowing in your fics?
i'm pretty conscious of it, but there have been a lot of times where i accidentally add things like oh shit i didn't even mean for that to be foreshadowing or symbolism but it works!
75 : is there a particular fic that readers gravitated towards that you didn’t expect?
hhh not really, i usually know what'll do well and what probably won't. but i wasn't really expecting hush to do so well! and i sure as hell didn't expect any of my fics to hit 100+ notes asjfjsd
answered these in this post!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS DFJGEJSDFFJSD

4. what’s a wip that’s fairly easy for you to get back into writing? why?
whatever chapter of nsmap i’m working on 😌😌 it’s just my most recent story and i’m deeply obsessed with the three of them and also i can do whatever the hell i want Literally. like there is no plot and there are rules that i have to stick to, no worldbuilding, no word minimum, i do not have to think. and i am enabling myself to make them as neurodivergent as possible which makes it that much more fun <33333
6. write 3 sentences of any wip you’d like, post it in the answer.
And then came the doubt.
She was never quite good enough offensively and, while she knew she had a place on the team and she wasn’t useless, she felt it. She hated to watch them on the sidelines, every fiber of her soul egging her on, telling her to help, and yet unable to do a thing.
(autism rin chapter of nsmap SJDJSKJF <333 she goes through a Doubt Period before kannabi because her team is So Great and she…isn’t. at least not in a way where she can help in the moment, yk??)
20. how do you usually come up with story ideas?
for nsmap i just jot down things i’d like to write about :3 for actual full-length stories, i’ve either just watched something, it came to me unbidden, or i thought about southwestern folklore too much and started Researching DJSJFDKD
i also use pinterest boards. pinterest boards help sometimes <333
24. do you have a writer you look up to in terms of writing routines/style?
ummm i gotta be honest, i’m not really good at telling the different between styles of writing unless they’re STARKLY different (like. huckleberry finn to pjo DKKSSJDJ), and i definitely don’t research writing/how to write things so,, no, not really. sometimes i’ll read a poem or something that’ll Get Me In A Mood and i’ll take inspo from that, but that’s as far as it goes tbh lol

Pls pls pls! Listen to this podcast
Desperado is an audio-drama by Sami Souissi about “ Blood magic, Voodoo magic, old gods, new gods: We've got it all! Follow the story of misfits from all over the world, as they try to survive and protect their heritage from modern-day crusaders.”
It has a similar narrative framework to the Juno Steel S3 in the sense that there’s both narration by the characters that get shifted through the episodes so we get different povs and parts that are not narrated. However unlike penumbra other character’s can hear the narration since is this kind-of retrospective narrative so we get the others laugh at the first impressions the narrator had or make fun of them because x thing.
Also the worldbuilding is estellar, so much thought is given to how the magic works, and how gods interact etc. which you can specially feel through the sound desing.
There is a trans woman with powers, a gay guy with wings and a straight fella with an INCREDIBLE pain resistence. The main trio is made of mexican and japanese men/boys (the ages are a bit weird) and a haitian girl/woman and they are bound together by the shared need to protect themselves and their heritage.
also the first mexican character I saw in audio fiction, which as mexican, is pretty nice yk?
They’re currently looking for funding for the second season (which by looking at the characters descriptions of the casting calls) will be more amazing.
Here is the link to their trailer:
https://open.spotify.com/episode/5zoVi4iRD8NVLYJN5yr3Zm?si=44b3df898a5a4d4a
So...
If you’re going to support the penumbra while ignoring the VERY VALID  reasons they lost viewership (listenship?) you can also give this podcast a listen and see if you’ll like to support them too.
And...
Unlike the penumbra the VAs are ACTUALLY the race/ethnicity their art portrays them as! I know, I too didn’t think it could be done! But it seems like it can.

I’ll confess my sins. When I skipped the first chapters of Capri I got stuck on Laurent’s description as spoiled and similar to overripe fruit. So i was like ah. Royal Dudley Dursley with a blonde curly wig. Sounds about right. I finally saw some fan art and was like??? Who is this anemic Victorian vampire legolas persona?? Honestly tho in an alternate universe where Auguste doesn’t die and Laurent still dislikes sports but enjoys Veres sweet meats and his metabolism is only the slightest bit slower Laurent is absolutely getting chubby. And Damen. Smh he manages to be shadiest bitch while also being appreciating. Would he insult an overweight courtier who never touched a sword? Absolutely. Would he respect a meaty sumo ringer able to throw Damen around like a rag doll? Absolutely. He seems to appreciate multiple types of bodies just fine (muscled gladiators, frail slaves, sturdy vaskian women) so I feel like he’d also appreciate curvier partners as long as they. Well know how to use their body yk. Oh and what about chubby jokaste? We don’t know enough about akielon beauty standards at all. Sure slaves are probably mostly slender and frail to add to the submissive aesthetic (tho I do remember damens fixation on his female slaves big boobs, dude is far from subtle as always). But if it’s Ancient Greek inspired beauty standards jokaste most definitely rocks some tummy rolls. Either that or she’s got super toned abs from the Pilates classes she visits with the other trophy concubines. and akielon man are properly ripped but is it king-Leonidas-washboard-abs ripped?? Or more chunky functional muscle mass ripped? Perhaps akielon noble women are even trained like Spartan women and egeria was the one with the washboard abs. Also there absolutely was a time in Vere where the chubbier the pet = the wealthier it’s owner. Im so so sorry for rambling but your post got me t h i n k i n g
This is not only hilarious but also one of the best takes I’ve ever read. There is so much to unpack here that I truly don’t know where to start.
You mentioned Dudley, whose weight and fat (derogatory) tendencies are accentuated throughout the entire Harry Potter saga. I think—and this is my personal belief, it is not something anyone else has to agree with—that part of what makes Laurent interesting and redeemable to many readers has to do with the fact that he’s beautiful*. I don’t think many people would be willing to admit that, but Laurent’s pretty privilege as a fictional character is similar to Draco Malfoy’s (in fanon) or other morally grey villains/characters’. Ugly characters are harder to forgive, for some reason.
This got me thinking that had Pacat written Laurent as canonically fat, there would be a lot of stuff going on in Damen’s head that I don’t think we’d be able to excuse as easily as we excuse other (quite horrible) thoughts of his. But also, like I mentioned above, I think Laurent would have a harder time proving to some readers that he’s not Dudley, that he’s not just a stereotype of selfishness and greed and other things fatness is associated with (like childishness or an inability to take accountability for one’s actions). This would happen not because he’s fat, but rather because we see the world through Damen’s eyes. And Damen is. . . Quite opinionated.
You mentioned Damen would be judgmental of someone’s weight based on their ability to fight. So, like you pointed out, he’d make fun of a useless in battle courtier but not of a Sumo wrestler. I think in Book 1 Damen would make fun of anything and everyone, but I do understand where you’re coming from with that statement. It makes me wonder what Damen would think of people with a mobility/physical disability. Or even with learning difficulties. Or just about anyone that, according to him, doesn’t contribute to society. If you can’t be a warrior or a bed slave, and if you’re not in a condition to be a peasant and plow fields, and if you don’t have royal blood in your veins. . . I have a hard time picturing Damen being sympathetic.
Chubby Jokaste. . . I think I’ve always thought of her as a muscled woman, given the fact that Laurent can pose as her in Book 3. There’s been a lot of discourse lately on whether Laurent is muscled or a twigly twink, which I will not get into because I. . . do not know enough about gender and/or gender expression to add anything to any argument. I am also not a gay man, so I don’t know what could be considered offensive. I am also very stupid. I also do not know what the word 'twink' means anymore.
Your ask has made me think a lot about many things I’m usually not interested in. I think it would be interesting to see a chubby Laurent who still knows how to fight, who trains, who does things other than eat and hate. Canon Laurent is slender, and yet he never manages to beat Damen in combat, so I don’t think his ability to fight would suffer much from gaining some pounds. It would be interesting to see chubby Jokaste too, even though I don’t particularly enjoy the parallels between her and Laurent in canon. It would also be interesting to see. . . different types of bodies. You mentioned the Vaskian ladies, which I like a lot, but I don’t think I’ve read or come across any fics that focus on them. I think Vannes’ pet is also described as muscular and big, but I’m afraid I don’t remember the quote and I don’t own the books, so I can’t be sure.
What I liked the most was the ending of your ask, where you went on to add little worldbuilding details. Like I said yesterday, I wish canon was more detailed so we could maybe have something to hold onto when we make certain claims. It’s hard to say which parts of Damen’s thought process are entirely his (as a prince with a lot of privilege) and which ones have to do with his culture. Pacat has pointed out some to us, like the fact that Akielons don’t enjoy certain “spectacles” of the body, like pet rings or public sex, but they do enjoy staring at bodies when they’re wrestling or performing physical activities unrelated to sex. Other things remain little mysteries, in my opinion. Do all bed slaves have the same body type? Do women wrestle? How does marriage work in Akielos? What is everyone else’s opinion on fat people? I’m sure not everyone is like Damen, who we speculate cares about having a healthy body so he can fight and. . . stuff.
I am not saying Damen is the only character who, in the historic period where Captive Prince is set, would have fatphobic thoughts. If Damen was fat, Laurent would be the first one to use that against him, especially in Book 1. I just think Damen fits the fatphobic mold better because he’s described as this hypermasculine character, very into war (I think the blurb of the book calls him a warrior prince?) and manly things. Which is not to say war is inherently manly. Which is not to say Laurent isn’t manly. Which is not to say. . . whatever.
Captive Prince is a fantasy trilogy, set in. . . the past. Concepts such as fatphobia or toxic masculinity are not exactly applicable, but I think it’s fun to explore Damen’s character through his flaws. Laurent has a lot of flaws, but Damen’s are sometimes confused with virtues. In my opinion, they’re at their best when they’re being disgustingly horrible to each other.
I’m sorry for writing you a 90 paragraph response.
* He's almost universally beautiful in the Captive Prince world. Damen finds him pretty, and Torveld, and Jord (we've read that 'cute' quote where he describes Laurent at 15 to Aimeric). Not saying fat = ugly. I'm saying it seems like the 'hegemonic' body type for pretty is Laurent's, otherwise. . . why would everyone he comes in contact with comment on his pretty looks?

also magicish au!
okay hell yeah! so this is tww, and it's... kind of hard to explain? basically like they all have some form of magic, ish, but it's not like big or showy or dramatic, it's like... much more about knowledge or perception or emotions or probability? which has kind of weird worldbuilding implication but like. yk. anyways, so, like donna's kind of straightfowardly an empath, joey sort of straightfowardly had premonitions. josh's is... winning? which is where things start to get a little messy, but basically he can (sort of subconsciously) change odds to make himself more likely to win. amy's, similarly, is being right, so she (very subconsciously, at least for a while) can change odds to be right-- but it works better the more that she actually believes it. i haven't done it yet, but i want to rewrite the part where she loses her job at the wlc with this, because "what did you think i was gonna do?" "i thought you were gonna do this, i didn't think it would work" is interesting when you think about how their powers conflict. sam's is basically seeing the best in people-- glimpses or feelings about their positive potential. toby's is the opposite, seeing the worst. this is fun for them. leo's is knowing other people's powers, and maybe being able to like... amplify them? cj's i went back and forth on being always knowing the right thing to say or like lowkey emotional manipulation (but it doesn't work from nothing! she can't create feelings that aren't there, can just like... change the volume on them). abbey's is like, being able to sense health problems basically lmao, and jed's is pretty abstract but it's like, kind of being able to see the world and how it works, and like the moving parts more clearly? i haven't really fleshed this out fully yet.
anyways this is a lot but i'll give a snippet too lol:
“Tell you what— I’ll show you mine if you show me yours,” she says, eyes lit up. Hope and excitement and amusement and fast, and Donna wonders if Amy’s actually hitting on her. But there’s something else, too, something sharp, calculating. It’s not new on Amy either.
Donna gulps down a sip of her drink. She’s not sure she has one. CJ insists, and so does Liz, and anyone else even a little like them, that Donna’s got this thing, but she’s just perceptive, maybe. Probably. She doesn’t say it out loud, what she may or may not have. Plus, it would scare people. It would sure as hell scare Amy, with all her humor and anger and smiles and glares covering up anything else. It is good cover. It feels almost the same. A part of her wants to say it. Just to call Amy on it. Maybe to… no. She doesn’t want to— she really doesn’t want to, the way Amy’s looking at her. “D’you want another drink?” Donna asks.
Amy smiles and it feels like a sigh, it feels grateful, and Donna doesn’t regret it. “This round’s on me,” she says, and Donna grins, wonders if Amy can feel her gratitude right back.
She gets the feeling she doesn’t.

hey 🥺
a gamer girl heh? 🥴 what other games do you play? i’ve heard about genshin but i’m waiting for it to drop on switch... but it’s taking forever.. :/ also I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE CHILLING.. you deserve exactly that, love. as for me, thank you for asking, i’ve been good as well. i mean school stress is school stress nothing new about that. just been excited to get winter break which has finally arrived now.
it’s tomorrow for you now, so i hope you got the results you wanted!!!!! i have classes until friday but there are no more exams or finals which feels absolutely amazing. super freeing too. i’m sure you relate haha. so far everything has went well, but like you i’m also waiting for the results. guess we’ll see how that goes 🤷🏽‍♀️ ofc you can ask!! i study criminal justice and social science, heh. i’m super interested in the science behind criminals and crime in general so this felt perfect. and it has been, as i graduate in 6 months 😳 what do you study? (are you in university?)
i’m loving the festival arc so far! i caught a couple eps last night and it was exactly what we needed after the heaviness of the overhaul arc 🥺 my girl jirou’s shining and i love her sm... actually i was talking with my brother about this the other day but mha is one of those anime imo where every character is just so /good/ n fleshed out. i literally love all of them (except endevour but that’s a given). it rly shows you that good writing can go so far...
fun fact, i read your tododeku fics first of all because they were my first ship on the show and i LOVED them. your fics were the first ones i read in the fandom, tbh 🥺 it wasn’t until around ~season 3 that todobaku grew on me so around that time i just emerged myself in the rest of ur fics. been great. always great reading ur fics honestly 🥺
YOU FINISHED TDP? omg that makes me so incredibly happy you have no idea. the worldbuilding this season was phenomenal!! i love that we got to travel further into the world and see the deeper dynamics between the elves and humans. and yes rayllum is godsent for sure like i don’t know what we did to deserve this but damn. i love it. it’s a breath fresh air after stanning these either non-canon ship, ships that take 6 seasons to become somewhat canon or the worst: queer-baited ships. (i’m sure we both relate to that). not that anything is wrong with the first two but yk... having canon content is always nice.
i’m literally sooo sorry to your followers for sending these essays lmao 😳 i try to keep it short but damn ig i have a lot to say to you sjdkfjfjf i hope you don’t mind... can’t wait to hear from you mwah <3

and (6 months early but) congrats!!! good luck with graduating and everything that comes with it, i imagine it’s quite exciting! 🥳
as for me, i’ve finished my first year of uni! i study biomed, and i’m taking japanese as my elective! gonna live out my full weeb potential ahah 🤪

(sigh k-klance..) rayllum are so pure ‘breath of fresh air’ is such a good descriptor! they’re support for each other and belief/confidence they have in the other is just so :* chef’s kiss

Tagged by : @regalentempire thank you nelly !  Tagging : i’m actually gonna tag some people this time , @shurima-demigod , @fxlgurkinesis , @pantheon-god-of-war , @targonian , @yuhl ,  @januite  , @moonaspect  , @sunszenith to name a few ovo .
THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; Mun & Muse - Meme.
fill out & repost ♥ This meme definitely favors canons more, but I hope OC’s still can make it somehow work with their own lore, and lil’ fandom of friends & mutuals. Multi-Muses pick the muse you are the most invested in atm.
My muse is:   canon / oc / au / canon-divergent / fandomless /
Is your character popular in the fandom?  YES / NO.
Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK.
Are they underrated?  YES / NO.
Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO / MAYBE ?
Were they relevant for the main character?  YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG.
Are they widely known in their world?  YES / NO / MAYBE ?
How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL.
How strictly do you follow canon?  — what’s a canon
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  A celestial who has traveled far & wide throughout Runeterra healing those who have sought her help & leading the fallen or those lost in their destiny . She can also see the fates of others too so there’s that.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  —  She a sad goat ngl , lots of angst & can be a bit melodramatic at times.
What inspired you to rp your muse?  —  Soraka’s always held a special place in my heart for the longest time. I’ve written her before but it didn’t go the way I wanted it to . Though now I got a better idea of what I want out of her as a muse so here I am lmao . On top of that , I wanted to just write a muse that wouldn’t claw out someone’s sense of living in 2 seconds yk ?
What keeps your inspiration going?  —  The idea of having a character be immortal & a celestial is honestly the smallest bit of fuel that I’ve found very fun to play around with . Of course that’s not the only thing that keeps me going with Soraka , since I really just love how deep of a character she can be , & I’m notorious for seeing how far I can take my characterizations :v
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters, which could lead them to get more comfortable with you or perhaps not.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES . . .?  / NO. ( I . . . think ? ngl idk how people think I rp Soraka , so I’m a little unsure on that end )
Do you frequently write headcanons?  YES / NO. ( Honestly my blog is like 90% headcanons at this point . All of them straying from fanon Soraka I feel lmao )
Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO. ( I very much do , just haven’t gotten around to it on Soraka yet )
Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day?  YES / NO.
Are you confident in your portrayal?   YES / NO. ( Personally , yes. but ahaha )
Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. ( I like to think it’s one of my better points , of course there’s always gonna be room to improve , but I think I got Soraka’s voice / tone down )
Are you a sensitive person?  YES / NO. ( Yes & no ? I’m 50/50 , but I’ll put no because I tend to be on the more neutral end of things & I like hearing different stuff from different perspectives )
Do you accept criticism well about your portrayal?  — Always , always , always . No matter what blog / fanfics I’ve written , I will always be open to constructive criticism to what I write . I know I like to twist a lot of canon & make stuff my own , & I’m also notorious for posting long worldbuilding posts. I know not everyone agrees with that so ye. Gimme that sweet , sweet constructive criticism .
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  — Oh I love them , it helps me flesh out the character 10x more & helps me develop them so much more.
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  Eh if they disagree with my headcanon then they disagree with it , I’ve no qualms with that. To each their own , yeah ? Not everyone is going to like my headcanons about a character & that’s fine ; I don’t hate the portrayal others have either because everyone really has different visions of a muse & that’s fine lmao
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it?  —  I’d honestly just tell them to unfollow if they really dislike it , as said before to each their own & that’s ok yk ? But I’d rather not have someone feel angry / upset everytime I literally post anything about the character , so honestly my only answer there is unfollowing .
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it?  — Then . . . don’t follow a roleplaying blog for that character ? I dunno I’d prolly just go on with my day & ignore it lol. I don’t understand why people actively go following a roleplay blog for a character they dislike , only to hate on it.
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors?  —  Oh please do. I’m horrible at catching my grammatical mistakes when I’m writing at 2-3 am as if my usual writing hours , please never feel bad about calling me out on it .
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   — Yeah I think I’m honestly p chill . My rules are fairly lax & my general goal is for people to just feel comfortable around / on this blog , I just take 10 years to replly & I sob over my ships alot ahaha
That’s about it, congrats for filling out!

Since I'm bored, I decided to write some tidbits about Kilmay, my minuscule brain-fetus belonging to the Arcana world. CRINGE IS COMING.
- The name came from the Kilimanjaro - Since Vesuvia is named after Vesuvius, why not another, more subtle volcano-inspired name? Btw, the demonym is Kilmaya, not Kilmayan. Because it's fun.
- It's in the Clouded Mountains - if you don't know where that is, it's like down and to the right of Prakra, in this map:
Tumblr media
Right above the Fennekh desert.
- It has a cloud forest biome, in case you don't know what a cloud forest is, it's also called a montane forest. It's an area with foresty mountains, where there's a lot of humidity and therefore most. It's also quite chilly, too. Quite a few of them are in Central and South America. Oh yeah, and it's always at least a little windy. Yay for breeze. Nay for heavy af winds. It also has earthquakes I guess? not decided on that one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- The culture is... Confusing. It's inspired by everything and nothing, since I can never really get fixed on one thing. But one thing is certain: CLANS.
- Here comes the wacky worldbuilding: in this place, children only spend the bare minimum of time with their birth families, usually only long enough to wean them. After that, they are taken to be raised together with other kids, living in a sort of "temple" (in quotes because the name doesn't fit: it's not actually any kind of religious institution. It's more an orphanage, except if everyone grew up in an orphanage. I know this sounds bad, but I'm trying my best to make it sound neutral: it's just part of their culture. they can contact their parents if they want, okay? think of it as a boarding school.
- As they come of age (like 17 or so?) they'll be accepted into a clan, which contrary to the name (again) isn't only a family: clans are more like a mix of a very very extended family (with no or little blood ties), a tribe and a political party. they'll find an occupation in their clan after a few years, but are usually assistants and errand-runners before that. oh, and from temple to the end of their "apprenticeship" they'll usually be in collective quarters, though apprentice rooms are MUCH smaller and less crowded than temple kid rooms.
- They're pretty religious. Again, all my concepts keep being scrapped and recycled, but I want it to have something with weaving and spinning. Might borrow a famous worldbuilder's idea that had the world being a spindle which a goddess is weaving yarn from out of the stars.
- They're insular as hell. pretty much the only kingdom with stable ties to Kilmay is Prakra, since they share a similar ancestry (idk, maybe it was founded by Prakran immigrants??) and any countries related to Prakra and their royal family, like Vesuvia.
- The two languages are similar-ish, but I believe a Prakran would think Kilmaya sounds like archaic Prakran. Oh yeah and for some reason there's three cases. Yk how in English we have lowercase and uppercase? yeah, that but add a super-uppercase. why? idk, ask the goblins in my mind.
- They like capes. because yes. oh and they've got a sort of totally not """warrior troupe""" very lightly speaking. they're more performers than actual fighters, "warrior-poets" in a way. think Koream hwarang. they're an independent institution.
(you actually still reading this shit? that I applaud.)
- yes, you can be clanless. still trying to think about how that would come to be. children of clanless parents tend to have a bit of a harder time during their temple years because of that. I don't think it would be very common either, you wouldn't be unclanned for anything
- here comes the slightly problematic part: I wanted them to call magicians something different, but the only word that made any sense was shaman, but... yeah. I'm considering an alternative, since I feel like if I do that my head will be hunted across all four corners of Tumblr. definitely don't want that.
- they were also affected by the plague, nowhere near like what happened to Vesuvia, but yeah. A good few people died there too.
and I guess that's it for now. bye!!
