“Is the room ready Chrono?” Kai asked as he walked down the corridor. The sound of his shoes hitting the tile floor, making his footsteps wing through the entire compound.

“Yes Overhaul, the room’s all ready.” Chrono answered as he walked behind Kai. He was a little skeptical about the whole ordeal but would much rather have you then the one that Kai has now.

“Good.” Kai smiled under his mask. Your room was ready for you to come back and stay there. You were coming back to him and away from that scum. You would be much safer here where your pure body would not be tainted by the outside world anymore.

Kai had stopped right in front of the door of your soon to be new room. It had everything except things to contact anyone of course. You had the most expensive clothes and jewelry. Your bed was highly recommended, a desk and everything you could ever ask for. You would never need to leave your room.

“Kai my boy whats this?” Kai jumped at the sound of Pops coming near him. He quickly tired to figure out a lie that pops would believe. He didn’t want to seem suspicious and accidentally spill his plan.

“Him and (Y/N) are getting back together.” Chrono said quickly, covering for Kai.

‘Thank you Chrono.’ Kai sighed internally.

“Thats great news! To be honest I liked her more then (R/N).” Pops laughed as he patted Kai on the shoulder.

‘Good to know he likes her, since she’ll be staying with us for quite some time.’

“Well come get me when you bring her here again!”

“Will do.’

‘Okay so It’s his birthday today, what should I get him?’ You look through out the entire mall. Going in and out of stores. Nothing looking up to your standards. You want to get him something that he’ll cherish forever. Not something he’ll have for a few months then throw away like a video game.

Looking around trying to pinpoint the right store for your ever so loving boyfriend you get this sick feeling as if someones watching you. Goosebumps litter you skin as the feeling got stronger the longer you looked in front of you. You move your feet faster as you drag yourself to the food court.

As you take a seat on the cold leather booth near the back exit, you get the feeling again, just stronger. Sitting by the back exit will do you some good since you can run if you need to. Before you thought of what could give you this uneasy feeling a cold hand placed itself on your shoulder. You slowly snake your eyes towards the hand that adorned your shoulder before you felt your whole world shatter around you.

“K-Kai? What are you doing here” You say as you feel his gloved hand caress your skin gently. The feeling was anything less then welcoming.

“I’ve decided to take back whats rightfully mine. I can’t believe you would find some rat so soon.” If it weren’t for his mask you would have definitely felt his breath on your neck. Even if you couldn’t feel his breath, the warmth of his body surrounded around you. But instead of comforting you, it made your boy fill ice cold.

“I’m not yours...you let me go remember?” Your whole body shook as he motioned for you to stand up.. You obliged in fear of what he would do to you. No matter what kind of voice he talked to you in, you always got a horrific memory of what event happened when he used said voice.

“See still a good girl as always. Now come on, we’ve got to go back to the base. Everyone is waiting for your return.”

“But...what about-”

“Dead. I never want to hear you talk about him ever again understand? Don’t even mutter his name.” He gave your shoulder a squeeze. Making you let out a yelp of pain. Considering that it was the shoulder where he carved his initials into you, the pain was more severe that it would have been originally if it weren’t there at all. But since it was, it made a pain shoot up all the way into your shoulder and down your arm.

“Yes Kai, I understand.” Your voice more of a whisper as he lead you out of the mall and into the familiar black car. The car that once excited you now gave you a feeling of dread and fear.

You sit on the leather seats as you look away from the monster besides you. You curled your toes in your shoes as your fingernails dug into the leather seats. Your body shaking in fear. The warm air brushing against your the skin of your cheeks.

“Don’t look so scared my angel. Your going to be more safe with me then you ever where with that rat. I don’t need your replacement anymore now. THank god, she was annoying anyway.” You were going to scoot away from hiim only to have his arm wrap around your waist and pull you closer to him. He lifted you up and sat you on his lap. His strong arms showing no signs of releasing you.

“Your gonna love your new room angel.”

You step out of the car and your shoes hitting the ground. You felt yous legs turn into jelly. Fear making you so weak. YOu tried showing that you weren’t afraid that you were here on your own choice. But you were utterly terrified. Everything you’ve been through flashed before your eyes.

Your hands felt like they were holding satans. The latex of his gloves in between your fingers gave you a sickening feeling. The latex of his gloves made your skin prickle.

“Look happy angel. Pops will be home soon. Can’t have him seeing you scared face. Plus being scared isn’t a good look on you. I love your smile so much more.” You nodded as you try to put on a more convincing happy face as you walked towards the door.

It opens with a soft squeak and everyone looks at you, causing you to squirm and tense up. Kai growled as he gave everyone a glare that could kill and everyone immediately went back to work.

You felt his strong hand pull you down the corridor. His thumb rubbing your knuckles. You wanted to vomit. Why did he think that you would so willing come back to him? You were just terrified of what he could do to you if you didn’t. You didn’t know what kind of drug he was on. Before you got even more lost in your thoughts a familiar voice rang through your ears and it hits you all at once.

“Kai lets go to the mall! I want new diamond earrings-why the hell is that wench doing here?” It was her. There was no fucking way. Out of everyone in Japan it had to be that bitch. That same bitch who posted pictures of your crying face all throughout the bar you use to work at. He really got her as your replacement. It kinda pissed you off in an unexplained way.

“Be careful of what you say (ex co-workers name), this is my angel and I will no longer be needing your services. Get out.” The last bit of Kai’s words sent a shiver down your spine. You hated when he used that threatening voice. You felt extremely uncomfortable when the girl looked your way. Her piercing eyes staring right through your soul. Making you feel so small.

“No longer be needing my services?! Well it would be a shame if someone were to tell Pops all about your little secret-” Her voice forever was silenced as her body turned into only a blood splat on the wall.

Her once alive body was now covering the walls, nothing but a big splatter of blood as it dripped down the walls. Her blood covered your face and some of your clothes. You felt her blood seep through your clothes and cover your face. You were speechless. You just witnessed Kai kill her. It’s not like you didn’t knwo he was a dangerous man but that didn’t mean him killing her in front of you wasn’t traumatizing. You would never get the image of her body turning into a puddle of blood.

“Disgusting. Finally she’s gone.” Kai grunted as he let go of your hand as he violently scratched at his skin. Trying to get her blood off his skin and clothes. Hives decorating his skin. He groaned before looking at you seeing you shake as you looked at your hands. Which were covered in her blood. Her blood covering a majority of your body.

“Don’t be scared my precious angel. I promise I will never do it to you again. I can’t even imagine seeing you in such a state in my own eyes again.” He grabbed your shoulder and brought you to his chest which was also covered in her blood. Smearing all over your face.

‘Please just let me go damnit. I was so close.’ Tears pour out of your eyes as they stream down your face when you felt his gloved hand pet his hair.

For this gif tutorial I’m going to try to keep it as basic as possible, I may add a few tips for coloring at the end, but for the most part this is going to be how I make my basic gif. Also I’m not going to use my vapoursynth to process the video beforehand, just because I know not everyone uses it and it’s harder to learn. This is going to be just a downloaded mp4 video through the gif process. Don’t let the idea that this is a BASIC TUTORIAL fool you, I’m going to try to teach you a lot of things. It’s gonna get wordy, but i will try my hardest to keep the process easy. I’m just going to explain what things do instead of having you just copy + paste my method and not know what it means. okay? okay.

Before we start though, if you plan of giffing live stages you either need to accept the they will not be super crisp and clear OR learn how to use avisynth/vapoursynth to resize the videos without quality loss.

If you just want to gif music videos or variety shows then this should still give you HQ gifs.

Other notes:

try to ONLY use 1080p and up video if possible, maybe 720p if you’re really desperate, but anything under that... it’s not going to look good at all, so try to avoid using them.

The Photoshop I am using is PS 2020, so all my screenshots will be from that version and with my weird set up. But I’ve been using pretty much the same method since cc 2015 so other than the fact that some placements and names are tweaked, it’s the same. (If you can’t find something on your version shoot me an ask and I’ll try to help! And asks I get on this tutorial I’ll link HERE for future reference)

CUTTING VIDEO

To cut videos I’ll just use my quicktime player.

I use edit > trim to select the portion of the video I plan to gif and save that as it’s own new mov file.

which pops up this tab

that you just slide until the part you want to gif is selected

then just save it as a new video and your done with part 1

ENTER PHOTOSHOP

Now what we’ll do is open our photoshop and import that clip into layers

FILE > IMPORT > VIDEO FRAMES TO LAYERS and select your video.

A small pop up will appear to show the clip you’re opening, you can trim it further here or just keep going by clicking okay

my setup is weird for drawing BUT you should have it looking remotely like this:

The things you will DEFINITELY need to see are TIMELINE, LAYERS, ADJUSTMENTS. If you don’t have these sections you can add them to your screen by clicking on the WINDOW tab at the very top menu bar and clicking on them

LAYERS - this is pretty self explanatory but each row is a layer in the gif. the more layers the bigger the gif will end up, the longer it plays. So bigger clips will have more layers and end up as larger gifs in the end.

TIMELINE - This is where you can edit the gifs timing (make it faster or slower)

We’ll be doing a bit of work with it so it’s important to know it well

ADJUSTMENTS - Best friend and worst nightmare. this is where ALL the tedious recoloring is done. VERY rarely would you not use these. 99.9% of kpop things are filmed through a green or blue lense so you’ll want to fix that to not have ghost idols

So, Let’s make a gif

Step 1 - In the top right corner of your timeline is a set of lines, click there and then click SELECT ALL FRAMES

under each frame is a time stamp (this video’s is 0.04) this decides how fast each clip goes by, or how quickly the gif moves. Personally I prefer slower gifs, but I say anywhere between 0.04-0.06 is a decent speed.

Step 2 - with all the frames selected, click on the small down arrow next to any of the frames and change the speed to your liking. (I’m going to use .06)

Step 3 - in that same tab of lines we’ll now click CONVERT TO VIDEO TIMELINE, which will change our Timeline to look like this:

Step 4 - Back in our very TOP menu we’ll click SELECT > ALL LAYERS, then on the TOP menu click FILTER > CONVERT FOR SMART FILTERS (this might take your computer a minute since our File is still pretty large.) Now our Time line will look like this:

Step 5 - Sharpening

This one is VERY MUCH something you’re going to have to play with to get your settings to be how you like them. It’s also where I’d use topaz adjustments, BUT since I said we’re doing basic PS gif we’re just going to be using smart sharpening. SO:

in the TOP munu again, click FILTER > SHARPEN > SMART SHARPEN

A pop up window will appear and you can edit the settings to your liking. Mine:

Step 6 - Resize your gif or crop it to tumblrs standards: big singal gifs have a 540px width || Two gifs use 268px || and three gifs use 177/178px

To do this we’ll use the crop tool and type in our dimensions in the menu bar:

and then crop to your liking. (this doesnt resize the gif it just crops to the correct ratio so we still have to shrink the gif)

Next, we’ll resize the gif to that size in the TOP menu click IMAGE > IMAGE SIZE a pop up menu will appear and you’ll type in your resize ratio and click enter.

Now technically thats a gif. it’s TECHNICALLY done. but mine is white washed and there are words on it that I dont want so onto the coloring and blurring.

First I’m going to show you how I blur text on gifs. because text is EVERYWHERE in kpop content and it’s hideous and I hate it. so lets kill it.

BLURRING LETTERING

First we’re going to add a new blank layer to our LAYER TAB by clicking the little box with the + inside at the bottom

Sometimes doing this can mess up the timeline’s selection but its SUPER easy to fix so lets do that.

So in our timeline we have these two bars on each side that select what part of the gif will play. this is also where you can readjust your gif if it has extra frames at the end, or it ends up being too large and you have to make the gif smaller to save it. Just click and drag the bars back to where our gif actually ends, and all is fixed!

Now on our new layer we’re gonna take a paint brush (one of the ones with a lot of fade NOT the solid circle ) and paint over where the words are like so:

MAKE SURE ITS ON OUR BLANK LAYER AND NOT THE GIF LAYER!!

I know it looks stupid but trust me okay.

Now in your LAYER tab we’re going to duplicate our gif layer by right clicking on it and selecting duplicate.

Then we’re going to drag the new gif layer so that it’s above the paint layer in our LAYER tab :

Now, right click on the top gif layer and select CREATE CLIPPING MASK. it should put a little down arrow to the left of the picture, toward the paint layer. This means the gif is ONLY visible where that paint is now.

So we’re going to click on FILTER in the TOP menu again (while we still have that top gif selected!) and Go to BLUR > GAUSSIAN BLUR. a pop up menu will appear and you can just drag the radius until the text is as blurry as you want it to be. (also IF you missed part of the text, you can just go add more paint to your paint layer and it will blur wherever you paint!)

so now my gif is like so:

So now we’ll color him, because he’s pretty washed out.

ADJUSTMENTS

This is where I’m going to be the least specific about what I do and more about what tools do, so that you can learn how to color things the way you like them!

The Adjustment tab on Photoshop has 16 options but I’m really only going to talk about 6 of them. We’ll do it in order though. All the actual adjustment tools will open in the PROPERTIES tab

Brightness / Contrast - Pretty self explanatory, but definitely should be toward the end of your coloring, as if can effect the quality a lot. Small adjustments do A LOT so don’t go crazy,

Levels - Levels is all about the balance of how dar or light your gifs will be if you adjust in the RGB layer it will adjust for the entire image, but if you change the selection to RED/GREEN/BLUE it will adjust just those colors hues. Also there are three small droppers to the left of the graph. using those you can select which part of the gif you want the image to recognize as the lightest/darkest part of the gif, and the tool will adjust the gifs coloring to that point. ( play with those droppers! magic happens i swear!)

Curves - Kind of like levels but instead of how light or dark the entire image is it works more on contrast. REALLY play with the curves options, i’m sure most things you can do with other tools can also just be done in curves if you’re patient enough to learn

Vibrance / Saturation - Vibrance will make duller parts of an image higher contract and brighter and saturation will make everything a more neon shade. or in reverse lowering vibrance will dull out the things that were already neutral and saturation will dull out the more vibrant parts of the image (usually reds)

Color Balance - Good for fixing tones. so if a live stage is SUPER BLUE!!!!! you can readjust and calm down the blues to dull them out or get rid of them completely. Again play with this its insane what it can do

Selective Color - adjusts the different colors in your image without touching the other colors. if you wanna touch the reds, make them pinker but not change the blues and greens, you do it here

If you want MORE drawn out explanations of what each of the 16 adjustment layers do here and here are actual articles you can look at. But it’s all about practice. playing with all the adjustments alone and together. Finding out what you like to do!

Now when you gif is ALLLLL colored and you’re ready to save it we do FILE > EXPORT > SAVE FOR THE WEB and a whole new window of options pops up. I’ll give you two examples of how to play with those options and then we’re done!

keep in MIND tumblr’s gif limit is 10MB which is pretty huge now, but still watch your gif size!!!!

AND SAVE your done!

folklore think piece

for a lower case album such as this, i will be writing a lowercase think piece on the subject. i will not explain why. you get it or you don’t.

the 1: i have never been in love or any type of romantic relationship that left me with lasting feelings of any kind. but, on my fourth listen through of this song today, what once was just a promising and fun intro to this peasant girl summer gut punch, brought me to actual tears as i sat on the toilet in my lime green childhood bathroom as if i were mourning the one that got away (another great song). however, i am an expert on being hung up on the past, the “what could have been”, and made up hypotheticals. this song also introduces the film motif seen a lot in this album. i think dating an actor has really gotten to her. anyway what a killer way to begin, top notch stuff. how can a song be so fun and so soul crushing at the same time?

cardigan: when did taylor wear black lipstick? this is important to me. an old cardigan is an inherently bisexual article of clothing. that is not an opinion. i read it somewhere today and i believe it. this is the tip of the queer-coding ice berg in folklore, never fear. another reference, “tried to change the ending / peter losing wendy”. this year i wrote a movie script where both peter and wendy were both gay. coincidence? probably. basically this one is classic taylor poetry on every level and it being one of a trio in a larger story makes it that much better. yet again, high school romance is not a universal experience (like for me for instance) but haunting my “what-ifs” is going to haunt me for a long time. and the thought of someone saying i was their favorite cardigan makes me want to scream into a pillow.

the last great american dynasty: my favorite ts songs have always been the ones with detailed characters and stories and this one introduces the trope of the “mad woman” who comes back later on as well a long with many fun character details. at first this song is just cheeky and cute, very visual, a fun world to jump into. but then this particular stretch of lines makes your heart drop into your chest and reminds you why taylor isn’t just always fun and always cute and always creative, she also holds the ability to nimbly sock you in the gut when you least expect: “fifty years is a long time / holiday house sat quietly on that beach / free of women with madness, their men and bad habits / and then it was bought by me.” my jaw is still on the floor. and i’ve never bought a house myself. but i’ve spent numerous christmases having a marvelous time ruining everything (so i’ve been told) so this song still applies to my life.

exile (ft. bon iver): i’m gonna be honest. for as long as i can remember i have strongly disliked bon iver and i never remembered why. it is a matter of principle at this point. i just don’t trust him. but then taylor announced she wrote a song with him which filled me with tremendous anxiety. but i can rest easy. much like “the last time” this song is a ts and male artist collaboration i can get behind. also the film motif again: the only time i’ve left a theatre when i didn’t like a movie was never because movie tickets are so expensive and if i’m shelling out 11 dollars to sit in a chair, i’m staying the whole time no matter how bad the ending. but i probably would have left my sister’s keeper if i had seen it before if i’m being honest. so i get it. thats why i read spoilers for everything i watch before watching it, because the anxiety of worrying about how it ends make me not enjoy it in the first place. the end of this song: the call and response felt… ethereal? i felt like i was watching a broadway musical from the splash zone seats, crying as i was spat on.

my tears ricochet: this song is what i picture stepping outside in the middle of the night when an inch or so of snow has just fallen and i can see the flakes fall in front of a street light sounds like. or the scorned secret ex lover throwing themselves onto the coffin demanding to know why they weren’t enough. which is to say it feels like a sign from some sort of god. yet again, haunting is brought up, an overt reference to the fact that this album will live in my brain rent free for eternity. for some reason this song reminds me of the relationship between hamilton and burr when burr kills hamilton. that could be because i just watched the disney+ recording last week. one lives, one dies, but neither survive, both pay for it. Which is a super romantic and understanding view on murder. both musical experiences equally chilling and moving. if i die under mysterious circumstances this will for sure be played at the funeral.

mirrorball: first off, this is my mom's favorite which is very important. also, it has skewered a very specific but also universal insecurity of mine; existing just to please others and yet miserably failing. it is comforting that ts is not a “natural’ and feels she must always “try try try” because i too lack natural ability, but also rarely “try” even just the one time. the best way i can describe listening to this song is walking through a silent disco where everyone else is listening to some classic lady gaga jam and you are listening to a calming lullaby sung very far away. but don’t let the soothing sounds fool you. it still will have you reflecting on what it means to look and be looked at. a dark rabbit whole, like falling through the looking glass. i’ve never actually read that book though so i could be wrong.

seven: i’m dumb and on my first listen of this song i thought she “hit her peak” at 7 clock as opposed to age seven. but i always saw taylor swift as someone with an early bedtime. also a fun discovery while writing this, “seven” is the 7th song on the track list. clever. although this song is young and innocent and so nostalgic for a time when screaming ferociously was a widely accepted form of expression, it also sounds like a very old secret someone is whispering to me. a love from long ago that lasts beyond the person being in your life, passed down to me and it all just sounds a little gay. not just because of the specific line to hiding in the closet. but that certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. when i was seven i was definitely in love with girls and assumed that was just what friendship was, playing pirates and making plans of running away together.

august: the eighth track for the eighth month. her mind. also my birth month so that’s special. controversial opinion: from what i’ve read most people seem to think illicit affair is the third song in the triage of teen love. i will strongly make the case that it's actually this one. first of all, the subject: a short lived summer fling, which is specifically mentioned later in “betty”. the central heartbreak of this song is liking someone who always belonged to someone else. yes, this song is a window into a different summer, far from pandemic central and the escapist imagery is delightful. but a whole song from the pov of the “other woman” to james and betty is just so much more fun. and there are two more specific lyrics that prove my point. “remember when i pulled up and said "get in the car”” you will see later comes back from the other person’s perspective. and most of all: the repeated line, “meet me behind the mall”? only teenagers make plans to meet up behind a mall. i rest my case. so now we have cardigan and august. two pieces of the puzzle.

this is me trying: i’m glad i now have a succinct message to send to anyone when they ask me what the hell i’m doing at any given moment. this song just sounds like regret and waste in the most self-assured and confident way. this is “back to december” with the training wheels off. i have no apologies for my efforts at wasting all my potential. but in this song, taylor has opened her arms to me in a warm embrace and has forgiven me for all i’ve done wrong and reminds me to not take for granted the “try”. okay mom. i’m crying again, but okay.

illicit affair: this is the kind of thing that makes you feel sixteen, living in a dull suburb, while secretly screwing your 38 year old married neighbor who’s rich but wants to be an artiste. aka like a character in euphoria or something. it’s sexy and dangerous until you think about it and then it's just dingy and creepy. but this song starts and stays beautiful. most importantly, this song is too sad and depressing frankly, to be a part of the trilogy. we could never forgive james for leaving such a mess and making her a fool. you don’t want to be this girl. you want to walk up to her and shake her and yell “you exist and will not be ruined by any dumb man”. and that’s feminism.

invisible string: is it reductive if i say this one’s about joe? all my non-stan friends have asked me which ones are about him. we forgive them and point them in this direction. because it is lovely and beautiful that we are all tied to our soulmate for our whole lives before we ever meet them (because that would in fact mean that there is someone out there for everyone which might be naive or dumb but i am both of those things and whats the point of living if you don’t believe in the power of love). this honestly gives me “begin again” vibes in the best way. it’s red-era level with the wisdom of lover-era tay. sublime.

mad woman: the second mention of the “mad woman” as both taylor herself and the character in the story. as usual, tay stays calling out double standards and the manipulation of women into “going crazy” for expressing reasonable anger. I, personally, wish i could say “fuck you forever” without someone saying i’m “overreacting”. this is my least favorite song on the album and i’d still listen to it three times in a row and need to resist the urge to set a man’s lawn on fire. just girly things.

epiphany: i know she said this one is about her grandfather’s experience in the military but all i imagine is a slow montage of harry style’s character in “dunkirk” on the beach. and it’s beautiful. and much like my sophomore in high school self reading “all quiet on the western front” it evokes a pain from deep inside me that engulfs a loss i could never describe and a sadness too awful to witness. you will listen to this song and feel absolutely powerless to the will of the universe and it’s cruelty. and the faint but steady heart monitor beep in the background… i’ve never seen “grey’s anatomy” but i can imagine why it has so many fans sobbing. and let me end on this: two soldiers in some old war (meaning both men based on dunkirk) watching each other like this and living and dying together…gay.

betty: the first verse was pulled directly out of my subconscious fantasy of being in love in high school and it being so wonderful and painful and dramatic. and taylor riding a skateboard… is a mood. the song has been out for less than a week and it’s already a cold take to talk about how this is her gayest song to date (close runner-ups being reputation’s “dress” and “cardigan”). but of course i will still talk about it. the lyrics embody such authentic awkward gay energy (see the lesbian in booksmart for reference) and having been a 17 year old only three years ago, i can say with reasonably good authority that no 17 year old straight boy could stand in front of a crowd of peers and beg forgiveness from a girl he hurt. it’s just not realistic. these are all awkward, over-dramatic, young girls stumbling through love. and it’s awesome. james is the speaker of this song, and the subject of “august”, the summer fling that was never truly there due to james’ love for betty, the titular role of this song. thus completing the love triangle. and there are so many obvious references in this song to both “august” and “cardigan”. rhyming cardigan with car again makes me want to light myself on fire in the best way. i love it. “i dreamt of you all summer long” is the final nail in the coffin for the girl in “august” who was clearly just a place-holder. totally separate from taylor swift, my favorite word is porch. so the amount of times it appears in her lyrics is wonderful. say it out loud. it just feels nice. anyway, this song makes me want to be young and dumb and in love. the second can really only be tolerated because of the first and third. i hope the story has a happy-ending. if james were a boy i’d wish him the plague.

peace: the coming-of-age movie starring james and betty (and inez) is over. we have come to “the age” i guess. there’s a thought that’s gonna fester. if this song was just the line, “would it be enough if i could never give you peace?” over and over for four minutes it would still smash me to pulp and fill my body with helium gas. i can and will cause a car wreck when this comes on the aux. if this song is what being grown up is like (bare in mind grown up to me is like, 30) then i’m ready to be done coming of age. because i already worry if i’ll be at all enough for anyone and way too much for someone at the same time. but like all good poetry, this song isn’t about what it “means”, but how it “feels”. and this is new york city, the summer, pouring rain, a long walk home, desperately fearing and hoping they are there waiting for you.

hoax: a one-sided conversation between me and my stubborn clinical depression. i too, constantly stand alone on the cliff demanding a reason. one has not yet been presented. it operates both within and and against me. i could be bigger and stronger than it. but instead i tend to it like a prickly plant. (“no other sadness in the world will do”). there is nothing both sadder and funnier then the scene in “avatar: the last airbender” when prince zuko stands alone on a cliff screaming at the sky for lightning to strike him. i don’t know why this song reminds me so much of that. what a way to end such an emotional rollercoaster. it is so emotionally draining that it simply forces me to start folklore again from the top and listen to it all over again. or take a long therapeutic nap.

there are no skips. and it will still surprise you on your 267th listen. proceed with caution.

Izu's POV

Hi im Izu Toga yes im the sister of the yandare killer Himiko Toga but thats not important any way i woke up and did my moring routine then went to setsuko's room and i banged at her door multiple times till i heard mumbelling and foot steps then the door opened.

"Hey" i say exited

"...hey" she said tiredly

"Do you want to train with me and Ty before the sports festival arrives?" I asked the tierd freind of mine

"I can't im training with akahito, sorry" she said in a tierd tone

"Oh ok anyway do you want to wake up Tani-chan" i asked her

"Sure" she said with her monotone voice

"YAY" i skipped towards Aratani's room.

Aratani Asui is one of my other friends I sometimes hang out with, her quirk is hedgehog, she is also the daughter of red riot and froppy she also has a four year old little brother. (Izzywrites57-IZU TOGA STOP BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL!!!!!! Izu- s-sorry) Me and Setsuko arrived at Aratani's room and I started banging on the door

"TANI-CHAN WAKE UUUPPPPP!!!!" I shout very loudly.

Setsuko's POV

As izu is banging on the door and shouting I look at my phone and I got a text from Akahito.

My Idiot: hey if your coming over to train wait for me at the gate

Insomniac bitch: okay

I put my phone away and I see Aratani and Izu starring at me with smirks plastered on their faces.

"What?" I asked

"Who you talking too, hmmm" izu said still with a smirk on her face

"I was texting akahito about what time i should go to his house to train" i said calmly

" Yeah right 'training' " Izu quotes the word training with her fingers

"For all we know you could be planning to go on a date" Aratani says in her usal calm voice

"First no we are not going on a date second have you confessed to Akemi your feelings yet, Ara-chan? hmm" i say with a smirk. Aratani blushes at the fact of confessing to Akemi. Aratani likes Akemi Todoroki a lot and i can't blame her Akemi is a nice, kind and a little bit shy and plus sometimes me and Aratani talk about our crushes but she mostly talks about hers.

Izu's POV

I'm in class not really paying any attention to this lesson so i decide to throw a paper ball at Suou Bakugou. I have i crush on him and Aratani knows cause we talked about it anyway but i think he feels the same and i'm not planning on confessing cause i know he probaly doesn't like me so thats why i'm not going to confess, anyway he then turns around and glares at me uhh i think im going to die.

Setsuko's POV

I see izu throwing a paper ball at Suou Bakugou. The dude is scary as he speaks in a low rought grumbeling voice. But all i know izu shouldn't have done that i am sure she is going to die after class. As i was thinking of what kind of trouble izu got into i feel a tap on my shoulder from behind me and i turn around it Akahito.

"What do you want?" i asked annoyed

"Why so mean setsu-chan" he whined

"I'm not asking again what do you want?!!" i asked more annoyed

"Have you heard that Izu has a crush on Suou from what i heard from Aratani-chan"

"Is that so" i said as a smirk grew on my face

"Yeah..."he said as he was suprised of my response

"Your friends with Suou-kun right??" I asked Akahito curios

"Yeah why?" He asked confused

"Ok so heare is the plan..." i said with a smirk

(Time skip after school ended brought by me because i'm lazy lol)

Izu's POV

I'm walking back to the dorms with Akemi, Setsuko and Tani-chan when a rough hand grabs my wrist and i get pulled behind the dorms building.

Then i saw who grabbed me it was Suou i widened my eyes in fear.

"Look im sorry i throwed that paper ball at you i was bored i had nothing to d-" i got intrupted from my babeling when he began to talk

"Look i will let you off this time but don't do it again GOT IT!?" He shoted at the end of the sentance. I nodded and then i left to go back to my room. 'I am never going to annoy him again he could of killed me but leted me off, i just got lucky this time' i thought to my self as im walking through the halls of the dorm rooms.

Setsuko's POV

It has been nearly two weeks since everybody trained for the sports festival we only have three days left and everybody is finished training and everybody is in the common room bored nothing to do then going on our devices, then Izu-chan stands up and speaks

"We all should have a movie night as a class as we worked so hard training for two weeks"

"Thats a great idea Izu-san we should definetly do that" Akemi says as she agrees

"Okay so Izu-chan, Ty-chan and Akahito-kun should go to the store and get snacks along with Setsuko-chan and Tani-chan, you guys need to buy some blankets and pillows also and here is my credit card use it contactless to pay" akemi says as she takes charge and gives me her credit card.

"Everybody else if you need anything from the store you can go with them if not pick out some games and movies to watch later" Akemi continues giving orders to the class.

Then i see Suou walking towards us then he starts speaking

"Can i come with you guys i need some stuff for training" he says as he places his right hand behind his head. Suou can be a bit timid at times when he isn't angry or glaring at people.

"...Sure?" izu says confused

After that i feel wheight on my shoulder and i see Akahito's arm around my shoulder and i feel my self blushing

"Looks like we are spending quality time with me while shopping~" he says in a flirty voice i roll my eyes

"In your dreams" i say annoyed

"Your always im my dreams tho" he says not stoping with the flirting

"You pervert" i shout at him walking quickly towards Ty

"You okay?" She asks in her normal bored monatone voice

"Yeah...i'm okay" i say still flustered from earlier.

Akahito POV

I really like Setsuko but she always ignores me or what ever i do but when i talk with her or flirt with she blushes a little bit which i gusse it good but i known her since we were kids and it may seem cheesy to fall for your childhood best friend but she is so cute and i want us to be more then childhood best friends but i don't know if she feels the same.

Third POV

As the six students walk to the nearest mall they chat about their training and other stuff.

This is the first time the first years will have a class gather and rveryone is excited.

Back at the dorms Akemi and some other students prepares the common room with food, sweets and decaorating the common room abit.

Setsuko's POV

I get my phone out as i am walking and i start texting Akemi

Insomniac bitch: hey can you tell everybody to pick out a scary movie

Goddess: why?? Is it because you want to get close to Akahito😏

Insomniac bitch: 1. No 2. It not for me because i love scary movies and 3. It for some other people

Godess: oh so your playing cupid. Okay can i join? And who are these people??

Insomniac bitch: yeah, and these people are Izu and Bakugou Suou

Goddess: okay also everyone picked up lots of horror movies

Insomniac bitch: good anyway bye we arrived at the mall

Goddess: okay bye

I put my phone away and everyone walks in the mall.

"We will have two groups of three and we will meet here once we are all back" izu said and everyone nodded

"Okay group 1 Setsuko-chan, Aratani-chan and Akahito" izu explained and i send her a death glare she just chukeled. I know what she is doing she is trying to set me up with akahito.

"Group 2 is me, Bakugou-kun and Ty-chan" she explained the who was in the last group. After that me, Akahito and Tani-chan seperated away from Izu's group and we walked around talking.

Izu's POV

As we were walking we talked about different stuff and by we i mean me Ty as Suou was very quite not talking.

"So where do we go first?" I asked ty and suou

"Can we go here i need some dumbells for my training" Suou said pointing to the store next to us.

"Sure" i replied back

We entered the store and we walked for about two minutes trying to find the dumbells but never found them so we stayed longer in the shop.

"Hey guys i'm going to the toilet really quickly" Ty said as she started walking in some random direction to get to her destination, i just nodded and stayed with Suou. I went to see what i could find for my training so i just went to the next isle. I was looking through some stuff when someone grabbed my shoulders, i turned around and it was some punk.

"Hey, how about we ditch this place and go back to my apartment with me." He said in a very creepy way. I scrunched my nose allitle before i pushed him off but no he had to pin me on the wall, i hear foot steps getting closer from the isle from the right...

Suou's POV

I walked towards the next isle and when i entered it i saw something that made me just to blow up in anger. I saw Izu getting pinned by a punk. I don't what i felt but this feeling just flooded over me, so without thinking my body moved on it on and i started walking towards them then my hands started exploding little explosions

"GET AWAY FROM HER YOU BASTARD" i shouted at this man

"Go away kid and who are you anyway? Her boyfriend" the man spoke back

"I am your worst nightmare but if you don't let her go she will kill you" i said with venom

"And yes i am her boyfriend so back off" i continued

I saw her starting to get fidgety she really wanted to kill this guy but she was trying not to get her yandare side out.

"What ever kid, i could do so much better than him" he said as he turned towards her. I grabbed her wrist and walked out of that isle far away from that guy.

Then i relaised she was fidgety because she was scared.

"Are you okay dumbass?" i asked with concern linhering im my voice

"...yeah i'm ok, thanks" she replaied but she was still shaking. I don't know what camed over me but i hugged her.

"I'm glad your safe" i mumbled quitely. Then i felt her hug me back. We seperated from the hug and we went to get the dumbells then gone to find her friend ty. When we did find Ty we went to the cashire to pay for what i brought. Then we exited the shop.

We walked around the shop till we stoped

"Dumbass why did you stop?" I asked

"Riiight sooo i need to get some stuff from this shop so either you come with me and ty or you stay outside" she was pointing at a clothing shop i wanted to say no but i need some more t-shirts

"I'll go with you two i need some t-shirts any way." I said as i fllowed them.

(5 mins later)

We exited the shop after we payed then we went to the sopt we were supposed to meet with everyone but since we were early the girls decided to go to the near McDonald's so all three of us got some drinks and went outside waiting for the others.

Setsuko's POV

We walked back to the meeting spot while carring large bags with blankets and pillows and snacks.

Aratani carried the bag with all the snacks while me and akahito are carrying the biggest bag with lots of blankets and pillows so i held one of the handel and akahito held the other. Me and him were talking about our quirks and how crazy there are. After loads of walking we arrived at the meeting spot and we saw Ty, Izu and Suou they were waiting for us while drinking McDonald's drinks.

"Aww man izu-chan you should of got me one too" akahito whined

"Nah, suck it bitch" she said as she showed him the middle finger i giggled at their stupidness

"Tyyy-chan please tell me you got me a drink" he said

Ty just nodded and handded him a large coca cola out of no where.

"Thank you" he said as if he was dieing and camed back to life.

Everybody laughed at his stupidness.

Oh did i mention that Akahito , Ty and Izu are the three demonic kids in UA, their know as The Deamon Kids and let me explain what they do, so these idiots cause trouble from spreading rumours to pranking the staff and snicking out at night for a trip to McDonald's for food, you wondering how i know this well i was ith them when one othese happened at it was fucking 3 in the morning and i asked them if they do this often and said yes and they only get either milkshakes or hot chocolate nothing to heavy and only happens twice a week. (Anyway back to the present)

We were nearly back to our dorms and everybody was getting tiered as we all got the chanse of carying the heavy blankets and pillows.

(10 mins later)

We arrived at the dorm and Akemi opened it

"Ho guys what took you all so long it nearly seven" she asked concerned with the amount of hours we were gone.

"Sorry but we had to stop on our way to a convinace store to get more snacks cause some morans were eating the ones we got on the way here" i said as i send a death glare to Izu, Ty and Akahito

"So whats the movie did you guys picked?" I asked curiously also knowing that it a horror movie.

"We picked Chucky"

"Thats great" i said with a bit of fear in my voice. I love scary movies don't get me wrong but chucky is...well to demonic.

After 30 minutes of everyone making a big pillow fort for 12 people we started setteling in.

I was in the fort with Ty, Izu, Suou,'why yes this dumbass was here too im gusseing because of Akemi's brothers and Akahito. Anyway back to listing' Akemi and her bros, Aratani and...Akahito and the others were either on the couch or on the floor. Akemi pressed play and the movie began.

Couple of minutes of the movie a jumpscare comes up and i jump a little but then i feel something go up on my back i jump and fall on my vack on to something or someone.

"Ahh sorry setsuko i just wanted to scare you i didn't mean this to happen" Akahito whispered

(Izzywrites57- you wandering how she fell she felled on her back on Akahito's chest cause why not 😏😋)

"I-it o-ok d-don't worry a-a-about it >\\\<" i sturttered 'why tf did i stutter' i thought to my self

"Oh thank god i thought you were about to get mad." He whispered. I sat back up and i saw izu litrally kinda cuddeling with Suou. I took a picture then sent it to the group chat with akemi, aratani, ty and me.

I looked around the tent to see akemi, aratani and ty giggling quitely then i looked at izu and saw her kinda asleep on souo's houlder and he kinda felt asleep on her head. I was about to take another picture when i felt a wheight on my shoulder, i looked down and saw akahito on MY shoulder, i felt my cheeks quicky warming up but then i relaised i didn't take another picture of izu and suou so i did take another picture after that i felt really sleepy and decided to put my head on top of Akahito's and sleep slowly took over me.

Akemi's POV

I saw setsuko put her head on Akahito's so i took a picture after i did that my younger brothers tapped my shoulder and i looked at them

"We are going back to our dorms now see you tomorrow sis"

"Ok, sleep well" i said as they left.

After that i took my phone out and texted izu

Crazy Yanedere

Goddess: i see you and suou cuddeling, are you scared of the movie

Crazy yandere: yea im scared because i hate horror movies so what is it to you

Goddess: woah chill im just teasing, but are you okay you seem flustered even through text.

Crazy yandere: uh yeah i gusse im just sleepy

I put my phone away and then i saw on my shoulder aratani sleeping. I blushed for a second then i turned towards the tv and continued watching.

I felt sleepy so i put my head on Suou's shoulder and thats when i felt my eyes closing slowly.

Suou's POV

I felt a wheight on my shoulder so i looked and saw izu on my shoulder sleeping peacefully. I felt my cheeks getting warm so i put my head on top of hers and slowly going into slumber.

Reggie//Heartbroken (part 4)

part 1

“Who’s pregnant?” Sweet Pea repeats.

“I-”

“Me!” Reggie interrupts and the three of you look at him. “I am! Surprise?”

“What?” You, Josie and Sweet Pea say at the same time. Sweet Pea and Josie are staring at him like he’s just said the stupidest thing in the world (which he had), and you were looking at the floor, trying and failing to will your tears away. There was no way you were gonna cry in front of Sweet Pea, and definitely no way you were going to cry in front of Josie. No matter how hormonal you were.

“Okay?” Sweet Pea sighs. “What exactly is going on?” He asks you. You and Reggie make eye contact and you know you have a choice to make. Its now or never.

“Sweet Pea. Sit down.” You point towards the bed and he looks at you confused. “Please.” You add quietly and he nods, sitting on the edge of the bed.

“We should leave.” Reggie says loudly and Josie looks at him confused.

“Whats goin-��

“Come on.” Reggie grabs her arm, pulling her out of the room. You can hear the two of them bickering until the bedroom door closes and that makes you feel a little better, until you look at Sweet Pea, sitting on the bed staring at you expectantly.

“Okay.” You start, sitting beside him. “Do you know how we used to...”

“Date?” He answers for you.

“Wow. I’m surprised you remembered after you dropped me so hard for your ex.”

“Y/n.” He says, his tone is low and you can tell he’s annoyed. He used to use that tone when you would fight, or when you would tease him, or when he broke your heart.

“Right, yeah. Sorry.” You shake your head, snapping out of your thoughts. Now is not the time to have a pity party. “Anyway. The thing is...is.” You take a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.”

“What?” His jaw drops and tears start streaming down your face. Sweet Pea just stares at the wall in front of him, his mouth agape as he plays with his fingers. The last time you say him do that was just before he broke up with you, and the time before that was when he told you he loved your for the first time. “Shit.”

“Thats er, thats not it.”

“Y/n.” He looks at you. “Please don’t say what I think you’re about to say.”

“It could be Reggi-”

“Y/n!” She shouts making you flinch. “How could you sleep with him? Him of all people? I knew there was something going on with you two, but I just didn’t want to believe it.”

“Me?!” You reply, just as loudly. “You’re the one that stole his girlfriend.”

“I didn’t steal his girlfriend.” Sweet Pea stands up. “He stole mine.”

“No he didn’t steal me. God you’re an idiot.” You retort, also standing up. “Why do you get to be mad at me after you dumped me for your ex?”

“That doesn’t mean anything.” He shook his head. “You slept with Mantle. And you let him knock you up.”

“Hey! What the hell. You left me for my ex.”

“I’m sharing a kid with Reggie!”

“I loved you!” You shout back and he instantly goes quiet. The two of you stare at each other, unmoving and out of breath.

“Y/n.” Reggie’s voice cuts through the tension and the two of you jump. “You need to sit down.” He places his hands on your shoulders gently pushing you to sit on the bed. He sits beside you, grabbing your hand and squeezes. “Everything's gonna be okay.” He whispers in your ear. “I promised didn’t I?”

“This is too much.” Sweet Pea shakes his head.

“Sweet Pea.” You plead. “Please.” You add, trying to grab his hand, but he pushes your arm away and walks out. Josie tries to reach out to him but he just moves around her too, walking back out into the party. Your sobs are the only thing that can be heard echoing through the room and Josie and Reggie share a look.

“Come on Y/n. I’ll take you home.” He helps you up off the sofa, grabbing your jacket and bag before leading you out the room.

“Can you give me a lift too?” Josie asks quietly. “Sweet Pea was my ride.”

“Errrr.” Reggie starts.

“Yeah sure.” You shrug. Josie and Reggie look at you confused, but right now, you couldn’t care less who gets in the car with you. You just want to go home and be sad. “You’re house is on the way to mine anyway.”

“...thanks.” She mumbles and follows the two of you out.

“Sweet Pea’s an ass.” Reggie nudges you once you get into the car. The two of you smile softly at each other before he starts the car.

As soon as you pull up to Josie’s house, she’s already grabbing her things and jumping out the car as quickly as possible.

“Thanks for the ride guys.” She smiles at the two of you awkwardly and you both mirror it. “And congratulations Y/n.”

“Thanks.” You mumble.

“Seriously, you’re gonna be a great mom. And if there’s anything you need I’m always here. I know things are a bit awkward bu-”

“You stole my boyfriend.” You interrupt.

“You’re pregnant and the two possible fathers are my ex and my current boyfriend.” She replies and the two of you stare at each other. Its silent for a few seconds until you see her facade crack and the two of you burst into laughter.

“Thanks again for the ride.”

“Hey Josie?” You ask and she turns back to face you.

“Yeah?”

“Could you maybe not tell anyone about this?”

“Sure.” She smiles kindly at you and you give her a grateful nod.

Reggie backs out of the drive and you both send her a wave. “Do you really think she’s not gonna say anything?”

“Eh.” Reggie shrugs. “She may have broke my heart, but she knows how to keep a secret.”

“Aww. She also knows about your love for Just Dance?”

“Shut up.” He laughs and for a split second you feel happy again, like you did before you needed to puke. And then you remember, the almost kiss. Everything happened so quick with Sweet Pea that you completely forgot that you and Reggie almost made out. You wonder if he remembers, if he’s even thought about it (its the only thing thats been going through his mind).

And then he’s pulling into your drive and your thoughts disappear.

“Here we are.” He drums softly on the steering wheel and you stare at your house. All the lights are off and you know your dad is going to kill you if he wakes up. But then again, he’s gonna kill you when he finds out he’s going to be a grandparent, so whats one late night?

You almost don’t want to leave. You’ve felt safe with Reggie. Which is something you never expected to say. But the way he’s stepped up to look after you and the baby, and the fact that he didn’t hit Sweet Pea as soon as they were in the same room has made you respect him, and also kind of like him.

Actually you more than kind of like him. You’re falling for him more every day, even if he is an idiot. After Sweet Pea broke your heart you didn’t think you’d ever feel whole again. You gave your entire heart and soul to this one person, who just threw it back at you. The person that you thought you would spend the rest of your life...even start a family with, just left you, after promising you the world. And you didn’t think you’d ever get over that.

But then you and Reggie slept together, and then you found out you were pregnant. And now you’ve been spending more time with Reggie than you ever thought you would and you’re enjoying yourself. Even if you’re pregnant with his/Sweet Pea’s child.

Damn, you like him.

“Do you need me to walk you to the door?” He asks, breaking the silence making your tear your gaze away from your house.

“I think I’ll be okay.” You reply and he nods, looking at his fingers. “But thanks. And thank you for making my night better. It was the best party ever.” You smile at him and he laughs, shaking his head.

“Ever?”

“Yep.” You nod.

“Really?”

“Okay. Maybe not ever.” You laugh softly. “But its definitely up there.”

“I’m glad you had fun. I mean before Sweet Pea showed up.”

“Yeahhhh.” You trail off and he curses at himself.

“Sorry I brought it up.”

“No, its fine.” You shake your head quickly. “I’ll see you on Monday.”

“Yeah. Totally. I’ll look forward to it. Stay safe, the two of you.” He quickly glances at your stomach and your hand grazes over it.

“We will.” You mock salute making him chuckle. “I’ll wrap myself in cotton wool if it’ll make you feel better.”

“It would actually.”

“Well, thats my Friday plans sorted.” You say and open the door.

“Y/n?” He says quickly and you turn back to look at him.

“Yeah?”

“Can I, er. Can I kiss you?” He whispers, his lips ghosting over yours and you smile.

“Yeah.” You nod and his smile widens. Slowly he closes the gap, and his lips move against yours, much softer than you remember the first time. But as soon as he’s kissed you, he pulls away and you stare at him confused and annoyed. “What?”

“I thought I heard something outside.” He whispers and your heartbeat picks up. Your hand instantly goes to your stomach and you pray to every god ever that you’re not going to die.

“Are you sure?” You ask.

“Yes.” He nods quickly and you sigh. “Just, stay here okay?”

“Are you mad?” You whisper yell.

“Well, I’m not gonna let you go out there am I?”

“Reg.”

“I’ll be fine. Just stay in here and lock the doors.” He reassures you before getting out of the car and closing it quietly. You watch him walk up your porch until he’s hidden by a tree. Two minutes later he returns shaking his head, and then you see a shadow follow him and your heart drops to your stomach.

“Reggie!” You shout, waving your arms about. He opens the door and you’re instantly calmed by his annoyed, and still alive face.

“Its for you.” He sighs and looks behind him.

“What?” You ask, following his gaze. “Sweet Pea?”

“I’ll see you on Monday Y/n.” Reggie says and gets into the car.

“Okay.” You nod and get out. You can hear Reggie driving away as you make your way towards Sweet Pea. He’s stood at the bottom of your porch, his hands shoved into his pockets and you roll your eyes.

“Were you two just kissing?” He asks making you glare at him.

“What are you doing here?”

“I came to talk to you.”

“If my parents catch you out here they’ll flip. My dad already hates your guts.”

“He’s gonna love me even more when he finds out you’re carrying my child...potentially.” He glances to your stomach and your eyes widen, moving towards him quickly and placing a hand over his mouth.

“Keep your voice down!”

“You’re parents don’t know yet?” His voice is muffled by your hand but you quickly pull away after he licks it, making you pull a face.

“Gross.” You mumble and wipe your hand on his shirt. “What do you think? They barely accepted you. How do you think they’ll react when I tell them that they’re seventeen year old daughter is pregnant and she doesn’t know who the father is.”

“Yeah, fair enough.” He shrugs. “Just, can I come in?”

“Fine.” You reluctantly agree. “Go round the back and I’ll open the window. Just be quiet.”

“Always.” He winks and you roll your eyes before unlocking the door. You sneak past your parents room as quietly as possible before running into your room and turning the TV on. You open your window just as Sweet Pea makes it to the ledge and he climbs through, knocking over several items including a very expensive lamp. It falls to the floor with a loud thud and the two of you freeze, waiting to hear movement from across the hall. When nothing happens the two of you start to move again and you glare at Sweet Pea. “Just like old times.” He winks again and your eyes roll for what feels like the thousandth time this night. Boys...

“That lamp wasn’t always there.”

“Well you’re the only person who would sneak through my window. I didn’t see the point of keeping it clear anymore.”

“Do you not want to keep it clear for Mantle.” He sneers.

“Really? This again? I thought you came here to talk.”

“Yeah. I did. Sorry. So...how are you?”

“I’m good.” You nod, sitting on your bed. “How are you?”

“Good.” He replies, sitting beside you.

“Thats good.”

“Soooooo...” He trails off and the two of you stare at the wall.

“So?”

“How-hows the baby?” He stutters and you look at him surprised.

“Err. Good. It was my first scan today. Thats why Reggie threw that party. We’re both healthy, and there’s definitely something in there. We tried to figure out who the father was but the dates are too close so we’ll just have to wait.”

“Until?” He asks and you stare at him. Sometimes you wonder what you ever saw in him.

“Its born.”

“Oh. Right, yeah. When you say we?”

“Me, the sonographer and Reggie.”

“Right.” He nods. He says right a lot more now. Maybe thats got something to do with Josie. You make a mental note to ask Reggie about that the next time you see him. “And you’re definitely...”

“Keeping it?” You finish. “Yeah.”

“Okay.” He nods, wiping his hands on his jeans. “Just checking. Your body, your choice and that.”

“Thanks.” You say, a small smile spreading over your lips.

“Can I-”

“Be part of its life? Yeah, of course, if you want. But right now I have bigger problems to deal with so if you could make you're decision quickly, that would be great.” You say rather quickly and he giggles softly. “What?” You ask, looking at him confused.

“I was gonna say, can I look at the scan, but sure, that too.”

“Oh. Right, yeah.” You laugh. Great, now you’re saying right. Maybe it isn’t Josie. You lean over your bed to get your bag and pull the photo from your purse handing it to him carefully.

“Holy shit.” He breaths. His fingers gently grazing over the photo and a soft smile makes its way onto his lips. “Is this real?”

“Very.”

“That could be my kid. I might be a dad. Am I ready for this?”

“No.” You state simply and he stares at you wide-eyed and panicking.

“What?!”

“But, neither am I.” You nudge him softly. “And neither is Reggie so I suppose thats okay. I’m sure the three of us will collectively make one functioning adult.”

“How are you so calm about this. You’re life has been flipped upside down in a matter of a few days.”

“Believe it or not, I’m not. I’m freaking out on the inside. Occasionally on the outside too. I don’t know what I’m doing or how I’m gonna cope or anything.”

“Errr. You okay?” He asks. “Do I need to call Reggie or something?”

“Nah. I’m good.” You reply and lie down, your calm tone surprising yourself as well as Sweet Pea.

“Good?” He asks, looking you up and down. “That speech is good?”

“Do you want my to ring Reggie for you?” You ask him and he rolls his eyes.

“I’d rather talk to your dad.” He replies making you chuckle.

“I think everything’s gonna be okay.” You say and he joins you, the two of you staring up at the ceiling.

“How do you know?” He asks, intertwining your fingers with his.

“I don’t.” You shrug. “But we have to hope I suppose. Otherwise what else do we have?”

“How are you so wise.”

“That wasn’t me actually.” You reply and his eyebrows furrow. “Reggie.” You answer his silent question and he grimaces.

“Oh Jesus Christ. We’re gonna need more than hope. We’re gonna need a fucking miracle.”

The Day Hell Came to Earth. Chapter one: The Shift.

Carth had always thought Joan was the laziest of the group, But skipping out on the first day of the new semester was an entirely new level of slacker. The bus pulled into place along the sidewalk. The three of them all boarded and waved their student passes at the driver. Of course Dominic and Hiela had to come along with him. The second he asked Hiela to take extra notes for class, she had grown suspicious. Hiela then in turn asked Dominic to take extra notes for their shared classes, this brought him into the ever continuing domino line. All of which led here, to the three of them trying to find Joan through his cell signal, finding he had boarded a bus at 6:30 in the damn morning, and then the three of them boarding a bus at 8:00 going the same direction.

"And you're sure that he's still right there?" Dominic poked at Hiela's phone, the display flickering and cutting in and out.

"HEY! Watch what your doing! Ah! What did you do to my phone? Did you break it?" Hiela was shaking her phone, despite knowing full well that wouldn't stabilize the screen.

"It's not just yours, mines on the fritz too." Carth picked up his phone and showed the static that was displayed on the screen. All of their phones had been acting strangely for the last few days. According to the message boards on campus, it was caused by some error in the last big software update.

"To answer your question Dominic, I'm not sure. All I know is thats where his phone was the last two times I pinged it." Hiela was a savant when it came to tech but with their phones problems effectively running interference, she was limited in what she could do. Honestly Carth was amazed that her phone was working at all.

"What is he even doing at a construction site?" asked Dominic as he adjusted his coat so he could sit down. The thing was a tall as he was, with so many pockets inside he could hold half his room in there. "I don't know." Replied Hiela as she straightened her back pack. They weren't going to make it to class today, why in the world did she bring it? "Did he get a job or something? Why didn't he tell us?" Dominic kept asking question after question. All of which were answered by "I don't know." or "Why don't you ask HIM that when we get there?" Carth could feel the rising irritation from the small woman next to him. He decided to intervene before Hiela killed Dominic. "Let's just focus on what we know for sure. We know he asked me to take note for him yesterday, so he had to have planned this. Aside from that, what do we know?" Carth looked around at his friends, he really hoped that they weren't as clueless as he was. "I heard..." Dominic said. "That place is haunted. Actually, I think Joan is the one who told me about it." Now that was lead. "He kept sayin somethin' about demons, or maybe it was monsters. Ya know, urban legends and stuff." Both Carth and Hiela let out a pair of long, suffering sighs. All three of them had dealt with Joan's little obsession before. "What kind of fun does he find in chasing down these rumors anyway?"

The bus bounced as it hit something. There was a 'pop' and the driver was having to work hard to make sure that bus didn't tip over. The sound of metal scraping on asphalt was deafening. "HOLD ON!" the driver yelled as the bus went into the sidewalk. The sound of rending metal and splintering plastics could be heard as it ground into the concrete next to the road. The bus ever so slowly came to a stop halfway off the road. "Shit! Is everyone okay?" Dominic helped Carth get back to his feet. "What did we hit? A bear trap?" Hiela dusted herself off and stepped out of the bus. "There she goes again. Come on Dominic." The pair of friends followed Hiela out of the beached wreck that was once a bus. "Oh God!" What they saw was horrific, a red smear led from the bus to a lump of meat and bones. It was about the size of large dog and it was covered in bony protrusions. Carth was walking over to it before he knew what was going on.

"I-Is it dead?" he heard Dominic ask.

"I don't know, but I plan to find out. Hiela, call animal control. If this thi-" Carth didn't finish his sentence for one very important reason. The thing that they hit had started to move. It got up and started to limp toward the bus. It looked even worse moving, like the love child of the chupacabra and a hyena. It was covered in a wrinkly mottled red hide. It was also almost completely bald, except for a stripe of brown fur down the middle of its head. That same head had twin horns pointing Carth. It's eyes fixed on him, and it started charging. "Oh CRAP!" Halfway through it's charge. Its front legs gave out and it crashed into the ground in front of him. Dominic and Hiela came running beside Carth. Dominic reached into his coat and pulled out a knife of all things. The blade was nearly half a foot long, and one edge was serrated. Just as the thing was getting up again, there was a loud BANG, and its head caved in as the bullet passed through it. Everyone looked behind them to see the bus driver, still holding a handgun. "What? It was obviously rabid, just don't tell the cops that I had this thing alright. I'm getting out of here. They don't pay me enough to deal with crazy animals." With that the driver and the few other people who were in the bus all walked toward the small building that served as a bus stop.

"What the hell is this thing?" Carth was crouched next to the dog like thing. "I don't know, but man is it nasty." Dominic was poking at its side with his knife. "Are we going to talk about the fact you pulled out a weapon from your coat?" Hiela was about 5 feet away from the pair of idiots who were messing with the monstrous thing. "Do you mean to tell me, that in that massive bag you take everywhere, you don't carry anything to defend yourself with?" Dominic sounded absolutely confused. "Well, I have pepper spray." Hiela said indignantly. Both Carth and Dominic looked at her in a way that said 'really?'. "Carth isn't carrying anything!" In response Carth reached into his boots and pulled out a pair of 3 inch blades. "You were saying?" Hiela looked away out of embarrassment, she saw the people from the buss sitting down at the stop. "We should probably go, having to wait around for hours answering the police wouldn't be the most productive use of out time." That was something Carth definitely agreed with. "Hiela, how far away are we from Joan?" This time she was the one giving a look. "Wha- Oh. You can't be- Fine!" Carth couldn't believe she was being a stickler on this! "How far are we from his phone?" Hiela pulled out her phone and started swiping through one of the apps she had on it. "According to this ping, we are about a mile away... guess we should start walking..."

20 minutes and a lot of complaining from Dominic later, they arrived at the construction site. A concrete building, nearly four stories high, loomed before the group. There was trash all over the place as they entered. Old bottles of every shape, size, and color, were strewn about. Some had been smashed and sharp glass littered the floor in many places. There were signs that people had been living here, bed rolls and cardboard boxes were gathered in various corners on the first floor. Despite the lack of work done on the inside, the building was nearly finished. Though, the work of years had given the place a worn down feeling. "Hey Carth, why was this place abandoned again? It looks like solid construction, hell it's better than half the stuff on campus." Carth set down the red stained cloth he had picked up. "I don't know, but I heard it was something about public outrage at where it was being built. I think the city council tore down a church or something to build this place." Hiela rummaged through her backpack and pulled out a flashlight. Shining it at the two of them, she said. "Are you guys going to spout trivia all day, or are we going to find Joan? Come on, my phone says his phone is up." With that she made for the stair well. When she opened the door, she was greeted by pile of bones high enough to mostly block the stairs. There where femers, tibia, hips, and skulls. All of which Carth recognised from his Anatomy classes. They were all human bones. There was a long silence before "Jesus Christ!" came out of Dominic, who then singed the holy cross on his body. "Nope." Hiela closed the door, turned around, and started for the fire escape that sat on the out side of the building. "Nope. Nu uh. Not today." She climbed out the broken window next to the stairwell and then reached for the chain that connected to the pull ladder. Carth and Dominic joined her shortly, "Having a bit of trouble there shortstop?" Hiela hatted being reminded of her height, or lack there of, And both Carth and Dominic knew it. The attempt at a joke seemed to highlight the horror of what they had just seen, instead of distracting from it. Then Dominic, in all his 6 feet of glory, pulled the chain and ladder down with one hand.

The three of them were climbing the ladders and stairs that comprised the fire escape when they heard a blood curdling scream. Suddenly the whole building shook as an earthquake hit the area. A blast of lightning hit the roof of the building just as they were reaching the top of the final ladder. When any of them could see again, what they saw would stick with them for the rest of their lives. There was tear in the air, light was bending around the edge of it and a red barren landscape could be seen through it. They also saw Joan, holding a long bone dagger. Said dagger was also sticking out of the skull of someone belt over an object on the other side of the roof.

"What the HELL IS GOING ON!" Yelled Dominic once again.

Joan turned around. "Oh crap! I can explain later. Right now I need your help killing this guy."

Stetson Labs- Chapter 1 A Girl With No Name And A Tail

A/N: If you have read the previous “Chapter 1″ Releases, begin reading BELOW the line. If you are wondering what keeps happening to me and why I have been ducking in and out of writing, visit my page and read my post. Feel free to comment and give feed back.

It still haunts me. The smell, the touch. I'll never be able to forget it. It's sad really, that I cannot move past it all. How can I? Every time I look in the mirror, I see a monster created at the hands of a devil. These...'improvements' as he called them, are always here to remind me that I should be dead. I guess I'll start at the beginning. I ran. Harder than I’ve ever ran before. My sensitive ears were on fire with the amount of noise that was happening around me. Screaming, gunshots, the sound of blood and bodies hitting the ground. I covered my delicate ears. This was too much. Someone, or something, was massacring the people here.

Strangely enough, that was okay with me. The people here were horrible, soulless monsters that mutilated and mutated me. I only worried for my own life, to hell with theirs. My bare feet became sore from slapping the concrete, I knew I couldn’t run much further. I kept checking door after door, praying to whatever god there is that there is one that is unlocked. And one of them finally answered. The final door on my left was unlocked, it was a simple storage room, but to me it was a small sanctuary. I closed the door quietly and let my back hit the wall. Sliding down, I curled myself into a ball, holding my knees and curling my tail around my feet. Not once did I take my eyes of the little slit of light from the bottom of my door. A distant thumping was growing louder, it sounded like a pair of booted feet. I squeezed my legs closer and waited listening. With my heightened hearing, I would be able to pick the best moment to spring from my small room and start to run again. The thumping was louder, it must be only a few doors down now.

“Damnit! Lost it.” A gruff voice said. There was a faint beeping, a cell phone? “Sammy, come down the hall, I lost one of them and need your help, too many doors to check alone” He paused for a bit then seemed to hang up. He started with the door on the right, across from mine. I uncurled myself and readied for running. I watched as a shadow interrupted the line of light under the door, and flicked my ears to listen to the door knob turn. Once I heard the faint click of the latch releasing from the doorframe, I ran full force into the door, knocking it open and into the person attempting to open it. I got a glance at the man I was running from. He was tall, bigger than the men in masks were and had short hair. That’s all I could make out before I took off down the hall, heading back in the direction from which I came. I looked over my shoulder to see if the man was following, he was, but at a great distance. I grinned, I can outrun him easily. But looking back was a mistake. I ran into what felt like a brick wall and fell flat on my ass. I landed on my tail wrong and let out a shout. When I looked up, I saw an even taller man in front of me. He had longer, brown hair.

“Oh thank God, took you long enough!” the shorter man said, out of breath and finally caught up. Damn. I was cornered.

“Hey, you’re alright, we won’t hurt you.” The taller man said, stooping down to my eye level. I laid my ears back and showed my teeth, a common action I made when threatened. I let out a low growl, like my instincts had taught me. The taller man stepped back and put his hands up as a gesture of surrender. I never broke eye contact with the taller man standing in my way. I was waiting. “Take it easy, we aren’t going to do anything to you.” The smaller one said now that he finally caught his breath.

“Dean, what should we do? We knew they were doing experiments, but we didn’t know they were doing them on kids.” He broke eye contact with me to look at the other man called Dean. That’s the moment I broke into a sprint once again. “DAMNIT!” one of them shouted. They gave chase. “Cas! We could use your help here!” Dean shouted. There was a faint flapping sound, and my wrist was taken hold of. I was whipped around and was facing my restraint, a man in a tan coat with brown hair, and a tie. He looked confused, but continued to hold onto me. I fought with tooth and nail, but the man didn’t react. I laid my ears back again and growled, but the grip on my wrist didn’t change. “Thanks Cas, I don’t think I could handle more running.” Dean said catching up.

“Sure, but what exactly is this? It looks like a partially transformed werewolf, but I sense that it is indeed human.” Cas said, looking at me with curious eyes.

“We think she is one of the experiments here.” The tall man said.

“Yeah, Sam did his research, the people here used this place as a lab to mess with the genetic make-up of things, we just didn’t know that they had moved onto human trails already.”

While they were so leisurely chatting, I was attacking the man holding me. I bit, clawed, and hit everything I could reach, but he was unfazed. Tears began to sting my eyes, I was scared. I didn’t want to go back to the room, I didn’t want these men to take me to wherever they were going to. I wanted to go back to the storage room and sit in the dark. I wanted to get away. The tears began streaming from my eyes and I couldn’t help but sob as I became tired and weakly punched the man’s hand. Sam finally took notice, “What should we do with here, she obviously won’t come quietly.”

“I can make her unconscious for now.” Cas said looking at me. I was throwing too much of a fit to notice.

“That seems to be the best option.” Dean agreed. Cas’ hand enveloped my forehead, and things faded to black.

Everything was hazy. My head felt heavy, and my eyelids even heavier. I tried to take a deep breath but it felt like cinder blocks were on my chest. I heard muffled speaking, the voices were vaguely familiar. Attempting to move proved pointless. It was like my brain wasn’t properly connected to my nerves, nothing was responding.

Finally the talking stopped and a hand grasped my head. All of the haze and weight was gone and I gasped for air as my eyes shot open. I was on a couch. I tried to sit up, But the man has yet to let go of my head. “Cas, she’s fine. Let her up” Sam said. The man called Cas hesitated, but let me go. I sat up and curled into a ball, eyeing the three tall men around me. One, who I think was called Dean, had his arms crossed, looking at me like I killed his dog. The taller man, Sam, was next to him, leaning on the table and smiling slightly at me. I didn’t like that much. Finally the man who let me go was Cas. He was standing beside the couch, scowling.

“What’s your name?” Sam asked, still smiling. I looked down and didn’t answer. Even if I remembered my name, I wouldn’t tell any of them. “Hey, we saved your ass back there, so if I were you, I’d answer the damn question.” Dean took a step closer, arms still crossed. The hostility in his voice made me growl and tighten my tail round my feet. Cas visibly braced, read to take me down if needed. “Dean, Cas. Calm down. This isn’t the way to approach her. We don’t know what she has been through.”

“Yeah, and we don’t know whose side she’s on either Sammy. For all we know, she is part of the plan.” Dean turned to argue.

“I believe Sam is right. I sense nothing-” before Cas could finish the sentence, I sprang off of my cushy cell and tried to run for a door, any door. Cas was faster, he grabbed the back of my shirt and tossed my down to the floor, causing my dog tags to fall around my neck and out of my shirt. “No, Sit. Stay.”

“Wait what’s that?” Dean pointed to my tags. “Maybe it has her name on it? Or some kind of ID at least” Sam took a slow step to me and crouched down to my level on the ground. “Can I see them? I won’t hurt you. We just want to help.” I laid my ears back but complied. I didn’t truly feel like I was in any danger. Sam took my tag and flipped it over so he could read it.

“W-1-N-7-3-R” he read to the others. “That’s it? Well that wasn’t much help.” Dean said, throwing his hands up.

“What if we call her Winter?” Cas piped in.

“What? The hell did that come from?” Dean questioned.

“Her tag number. Looks like the word Winter.”

“Wait it does!” Sam said with excitement.

“Fine, whatever. Winter it is then. Now, Winter, can you even talk?”

I continued my wall of silence. It’s not that I couldn’t speak, I just saw no point in it. I didn’t trust them yet, so why release any information? What if I get away but they somehow find me again because of something I accidentally gave them? Who knows what abilities the man in the trench coat had? It was my safety blanket. I turned away from Dean and Sam and fixed my hazel eyes onto the ceiling. What could they do? I’ve been through it all.

“Okay, maybe she can’t? But she seems to understand us well, maybe thats enough.” Sam tried to suggest.

“This is stupid.” Dean huffed and walked away, “You wanted to take her home Sammy, she is your puppy now.” Dean walked into another room. Sam glared in his direction and smiled back at me.

“I really wont hurt you. Are you hungry? How about some food or water?” I didn’t admit to anything but when he mentioned food my stomach ratted me out by letting a long growl escape. I blushed and bit my lip. Sam smirked and walked away to the same room that Dean walked into. I remained on the ground but I sat up. Cas nodded awkwardly at me when I made eye contact with him. “I’m just gonna.... Go check on them.” He disappeared before my eyes. I blinked but it didn’t seem to be an illusion, he really was gone. Glancing at my surroundings, I noticed books lined the walls. I perked up a bit. I loved books. Maybe these people would let me read some if I acted nicely. Thats how it was back in the White Room, I was a ‘good little beast’ and they gave me a book to read. Mostly books that were complex and full of words I didn’t understand but I relished the opportunity to actually learn something.

“Oh, do you like to read, Winter?” I was so focused on the shelves that I didn’t notice Sam coming back into the room. He was carrying a plate with a sandwich and a glass of water. “Well you are welcome to read anytime. Here, I made something for you.” He smiled and set the food down on a long wooden table in the center of the room. I didn’t move. I was hungry, but I still was unsure of everything. Sam must have noticed me being hesitant and he turned away and selected a book from the shelf. He sat at a nearby chair and began to read. I crawled on hands and feet over to the plate. Sniffing the table and chair before sitting down, I pulled the chair out slowly. I didn’t sit, I crouched on the chair. The smell of the fresh food wafted up to my nose and I began to drool. Without any further thought, I wolfed down the food and chugged the water. When the plate was crumb free an my glass dry, I stepped off the chair and began to wonder around. The library seemed to go on forever. I glanced up and say that the shelves nearly hit the ceiling. I grinned, so much to learn. I heard a chuckle and turned my ear to the source of the sound. It was Sam. He was pretending to read and was simply keeping an eye on me. I let my ear relax, I was used to being watched, so it made no difference to me. I need help with car insurance, I'm having some problems. Okay, I'm a 21 year old single, never married, male and I got my driver's license when I was 18 in March 2008. Now, I know my car insurance rates are high because I'm young and a guy, but here's the problem. I see people who are about my same age who have been driving for the same amount of time as and have no accidents, violations, or tickets like me. My car insurance rates are ridiculously high, I mean insanely high, even compared to others my age. My younger brother even, he's had his license for a year, he's 19, and had 3 speeding tickets and still pays less than me. On average for my car insurance rates, getting quotes online range from about $1500 all the way up to $2500 for 6 months!
