THEATRE ‼️ 💛 💥🔥✨🧡⚡️

#theatre gives me shrimp emotions that are sometimes hard to articulate other than ‘THEATRE ‼️💛💥🔥✨🧡⚡️’ but yeah! theatre! i love it so much! #the other week in the theatre class i’m taking this semester we got in groups and in turn performed a scene from twelfth night #which was super fun! it was the scene where viola and and olivia meet for the first time #and it was really neat to see how each group interpreted it #i was the olivia of my group and i made her really assertive / almost kind of aggressive because i interpreted her as trying to hide her #curiosity about viola beyond a very confident/assertive exterior; but some people played her as openly curious; or super mysterious; #or what have you; and it was so interesting! #the department is currently doing twelfth night (which is why we’re studying it in class) so a few classes later the actors playing olivia #and viola came in and performed the same scene; which was also very unique! it was SO COOL :D #they also talked a bunch about their interpretations of their characters and i got some really interesting insight into the characters that #i hadn’t considered before (for example viola’s actor said that she and the director are throwing around the idea of viola dressing as a #man in order to keep her brother alive; because at that point in time she thinks he’s dead) #and when they were done the costume designer for the same show talked to us about her process and showed us a slideshow of her renderings #+ some other relevant stuff which was super cool as i don’t know very much about costume design in general #i learned so much it was soooo cool :D #AND THEN today i saw the production of firebringer i’m working on which was also so cool but i think i’ll make a separate post about that #once i can gather my thoughts #but yeah! I'm doubt that is 100% possible because there are very few default programs. Example: no default calender or photo app--just google calendar and google photo. #i almost got a plain flip phone to avoid Advertisements but the cheapest was like....$100.... so i got a $200 smartphone and its #moderately adequate. i am still figuring out how to answer calls. you swipe to do it but if you dont swipe with a specific velocity it just #wiggles things around. im not sure how im supposed to lock my phone bc the lock button is also the “reads your fingerprint and unlocks your #phone“ button. so ill lock it and then it immediately registers my finger (which i need to use to press the button to lock it???) and then #it unlocks. #humans are not designed for this. we are crafty and clever and cunning but this is beyond my established skill #i miss my first “phone.” everything customizable. app. font. brightness. scheduled volume changes to silence my phone #during school hours. keybind any key to anything. double-press volume-down to pause audio without looking #i had a “swipe down menu” before they were default :3 i picked exactly which options i wanted in it. i remember my first #real phone had the swipe down menu. i was kinda mad because i knew the original designers and programmers hadnt been #compensated. it was open software. but its different when apple uses the programming in hundreds of billions of dollars worth of products. #gah and then they took SOME of the ideas and locked them behind subscriptions 🙄 like when youtube decided that you #had to pay for Youtube Plus or it pauses media if you turn off the screen. why does this app even know if my phone is locked or unlocked? #its annoying... i stay very far away from any work-arounds that could have consequences. so im stuck hopping #from newly-found method to the next. they vanish as soon as the wrong person discovers it and someone codes it out of existence #i love my little mp3player. no wifi. no bluetooth. no google. the few features it has require non-intuitive button pressing. #but....no ads. just music. purchased music! no subscription. it has a headphone jack. fits in my palm. the exterior isnt glass lol. #wow sorry i am raaaambling. oh well. its my post lol. #sorenhoots

so idk if i mentioned this but i got really into gardening this year. i've wanted to grow my own vegetables ever since i was a kid and now i have a garden i can actually do it. so i went all out. i grew tomatoes and strawberries and courgettes and peppers (they didn't go so well, wrong climate) and i spent weeks digging up the bamboo that the former owners planted (top tip: NEVER PLANT FUCKING BAMBOO, IT'S THE DEVIL'S PLANT) so i would have more room to grow things and it was SO FUN going out and picking my own food straight out of the garden, being like 'hmm i kinda feel like lettuce' and then just. going and grabbing some from the garden. AMAZING!!!

anyways then i went on holiday for two weeks and my family did not really take care of my garden while i was gone (fair, not their job) and the wind trashed my plants so i kinda lost enthusiasm cos it was all wrecked, and then all my tomatoes got a disease due to irregular watering because i couldn't be bothered going out there to water them every night, and THEN it was winter. so i lost interest and now i only go out into the garden to put potato peelings in the compost bin

and i was sat here like damn, i really hope that gardening wasn't just a short-lived obsession because it's easily one of the coolest hobbies i've had and also gets me away from the Horrors, aka, screens and the internet, and also let's be real, i spent way too much money on compost and plant pots, so it'd really suck if i never do that again, especially because everyone says the first year you grow your own food it's not really helpful financially cos all the supplies cost so much, it's only when you've been doing it for a year or two and figure shit out and don't have to start from scratch that it starts saving you money. so like. it would be nice to actually reap some financial benefits of what was a very expensive hobby lmao. (i bought OVER TWO HUNDRED LITRES OF COMPOST. IT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT'S REALLY NOT, ESPECIALLY WHEN MOST OF YOUR GARDEN IS PATIO SO YOU HAVE TO GROW EVERYTHING IN CONTAINERS)

ANYWAY tl;dr the switch flipped in my brain again and i spent an hour today looking up different kinds of runner bean. there's a variety called firestorm, so obviously i'm gonna have to try and grow that. and i'm mentally planning out everything i'm gonna grow and now i'm chewing on the bars of my enclosure cos i can't start growing anything until april >:( boooooo

#i also really wanna grow different kinds of tomato #i had 8 cherry tomato plants this summer and it was GREAT. i never had to buy tomatoes. which was useful cos i eat a lot of them #but i wanna branch out (pun absolutely intended) and grow some of the cool-looking ones #i found some black ones. emo tomatoes!! i wanna grow them so bad!! #and i wanna see if my strawberries are more productive this year cos apparently they don't do much in their first year #i'm excited to try beans cos i've not tried those yet. and hopefully my peppers will do better this year... #and i'm also gonna try companion planting and weave some flowers in among it all for the pollinators!! I'M SO HYPED #i'm also gonna try and grow some more fruit this year cos that shit is EXPENSIVE #i'm not gonna do that from seed though. i'm gonna buy a couple of fruit trees. you can get raspberry bushes that are designed to grow in #pots. same with blueberries. my friend is gonna get me a blueberry bush for christmas!! so i just need to get the compost. they need acidic #soil.
