HCs about Kuko and Sasara switching bodies (based on the ARB event) ( ノ^ω^)ノ゚
I love this idea so much omg. That was definitely one of my favorite arb events, and it's such a shame we never got to see Kuko or Sasara 😔 Would’ve loved to see DH and BAT weirded out by the sudden shift in personalities lol. Thank you sm for the request, and I hope you enjoy 💕

Kuko
when he woke up, kuko didn’t really notice that something was wrong right away given that he tried to go back to sleep. the sun was way too bright for that now, however...wait, sun?
he usually got up way before the sun was high in the sky in order to clean around the temple, and kuko never did get to sleep in as his dad always woke him up early if he ever did so
plus, everything was quiet, too quiet. he didn’t hear the creaky floorboards of the temple or the wind that always rustled the chimes set outside or the voice of his father yelling at him to get up already
that’s when he realizes something’s amiss. and sure enough, when he looked around the room and at the mirror, he realized that he was in sasara’s body
don’t really think he’s one to freak out about it too much. probably accepts that this is reality now and moves on or that it’s some sort of sign
i feel like he’d just go about his day as usual and explore osaka, as if he wasn’t stuck in the body of an old friend
definitely doesn’t take into account sasara’s image in the city, easily getting into fights if he feels the need to do so and acting as hes always had
(probably ruins sasara’s image a tiny bit. a grown man cussing out everyone and saying such vulgar things surely wasn’t a good look lol)
kuko doesn’t know the first thing about comedy, and he doesn’t really try to understand it. when he’s at sasara’s workplace or whenever fans came up and asked him to crack a joke, he simply responded with
“the fuck? i don’t know any jokes,” completely forgetting the fact that he was now a renowned comedian
tonight’s comedy show was surely to be a disaster if this mess wasn’t sorted out by then, and he really wasn’t keen on completely destroying the poor man’s image
so kuko reaches out to the other members of dotsuitare hompo for help, though meeting them was entertaining in and of itself
he tries explaining to them how he was actually kuko harai rather than sasara, but at first, rosho assumes that it was actually just sasara messing around and gets angry. and well, he couldn’t tell what rei was thinking
definitely gets into an argument with rosho over the fact that he was in fact kuko and not sasara, though he doesn’t seem to understand or even believe it
“i’m tellin’ ya, i’m kuko!”
at his loud outburst, rosho felt inclined to believe sasara, er, kuko considering how sasara didn’t have a temper like that. rei, on the other hand, seemed to have no problem believing it, almost as if he knew something that they didn’t
rei’s actually the first to suggest that perhaps chuohku had something to do with it, though it was in an almost roundabout way (kuko certainly didn’t appreciate the vibes he gave off)
for now, however, they were off to nagoya
Sasara
he did not appreciate being woken up at the brink of dawn one bit, but first of all, where even was he, and who was that yelling at him to get up already?
certainly freaked out when he looked in the mirror and saw that he was stuck in kuko’s body, someone he hadn’t seen in quite a long time
rather than panic, however, he’d accept the situation for now and try his best to gather clues to try and figure out what had happened for such a paranormal thing to occur
sasara did indeed panic a little when it struck him that if kuko was still the same as he remembered and was indeed stuck in his body, then his reputation as a comedian would be ruined
temple life was quite difficult on him seeing as kuko’s dad was giving him orders on what to do despite how fatigued sasara felt for waking up so early
the cleaning was tedious and backbreaking; he didn’t really understand any of the sermons, teachings, or anything of the sort; and to make matters worse, sasara only got in more trouble each time he tried to crack jokes
sheesh, no one seemed to appreciate his sense of humor
sasara didn’t really know what kuko did all day besides help out at the temple or hang out around the streets of nagoya, so he was most likely quite bored, at least when he wasn’t doing chores
plus, it’s not like sasara could continue with kuko’s training considering he didn’t know anything about it
most likely rummages through his room looking for something to do, reading his shounen manga or listening to his music, though most of the time he just sat there and did nothing. there wasn’t much to do afterwards
i can see him having a bit of fun with both hitoya and jyushi when he runs into them, acting like he really was kuko who had a change of heart
he’d constantly be cracking jokes or saying lame puns, which probably scared them a bit
they’ve never seen ‘kuko’ so happy-go-lucky before?? or at least not constantly smiling. they had no idea what got into their dear leader
jyushi was pretty much welcoming this change, however, as freaked out as he was in the beginning. kuko seemed much less scary now, and sure the puns might’ve been lame, but at least he was much more friendly!
hitoya, on the other hand, couldn’t help but think that he himself was dreaming. i mean, no rude remarks? no ‘shitty lawyer’?? did kuko eat something rotten for breakfast?
sasara doesn’t give in that easily upon hitoya’s interrogation and keeps up the front, though when he realizes that he didn’t believe a word he said, sasara decided to just come clean
well, that definitely made more sense as to why ‘kuko’ was acting so strangely
they don’t quite know what to do in such a situation, so all three of them decide that their best bet was to meet up with dotsuitare hompo to try and figure out what was going on

I doubt it'll happen but I am really curious, how would a division shuffle even work? I can't see any of the team members from different divisions having THAT much of a problem with each other that they'd split up, like I know Jiro is finding his own path rather than blindly following Ichiro and it's possible DH could break up (idk why I think they'd be the most likely, they just spell out angst and drama), but the rest?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
lol if i'm honest, i think the cause of any division shuffling would be because of the final version of ramuda rather than any of the little cracks/potential fissures we see. maybe that ramuda takes advantage of those cracks?? bb with their mama drama, mtc i'm actually not too sure of, but their agendas are already wildly different, fp and all of their deep chuuoku traumas, mtr with honobono and maybe chuuoku scouting jakurai, dh with rei's everything lol, and bat i'm not too sure of either but i'd guess ramuda drama too; kuukou has his cycles so i could see a ramuda causing a rift in his team again
as for teams, that's literally my least favourite part about thinking about any division shuffling LOL like there's plenty of combinations but what's best for character growth???? and do we keep the traditional set up of leader-2gumi-3gumi???? (but like from a money standpoint, teams that play off of existing cross division relationships would be favourable lol but this ain't about that lol)
so i tried to think up divisions based on the traditional formula and hated every single second of it LOL they don't even look appealing bro lmao:
ichiro - rosho - rio: mostly based on rosho absolutely detesting that rei abandoned his children lol i would have preferred rosho with jiro but alas, they are both 2gumi 😔 idk what info ichiro has when it comes to chuuoku but rio and ichiro are both heading in the same direction, and rio i think should be a challenge to rei, what better person to get that going than with ichiro lol. and whatever answers they find can influence rosho eventually understanding rei lol
samatoki - jiro - dice: lol i really wanted samatoki with one of ichiro's siblings, let's get that ball rolling on samatoki/ichiro making up and better that jiro actually remembers nemu. the rest makes no sense, dice unfortuately was left over from me trying to place 3gumis on a team lol but uhhhhhh maybe samatoki could provide a different outlook for dice on family. they'd probably clash on their ideals on family since they come from very different places tho
ramuda - jyushi - rei: the two people i think would suffice as ramuda support squad 2.0 lol jyushi for obvious reasons, and rei similarly so, but also like. rei didn't have to save ramuda in the catch us if you can track but he did so.
jakurai - gentaro - hitoya: jakurai/gentaro parallels are the entire reason for this one lol like if jakurai is working with chuuoku to save yotsutsuji, who says that that's something that can't be applied to gentaro's bro?? let's also work towards hitojaku making up lol
sasara - juto - doppo: samatoki's old partners COMBINE lol!!!!!!! sasara would probably enjoy juto's crookedness the way he did with samatoki and rei lol but i'd imagine he'd hate feeling like a third wheel between juto and doppo, since i def put those two together as moral support for dear doppo lol but's fine, let sasara understand how cringe he is trying to flirt with rosho all the time and then bully juto about it LOL
kuukou - hifumi - saburo: what even is this team lol but i also wanted kuukou to be on team with one of ichiro's brothers and saburo, who is very closely aligned with how ichiro used to be in pre-tdd/tdd era, seemed like the best fit. saburo could likely benefit from having a good adult figure in his life but he doesn't really want one like the way ichiro did at that time, so kuukou could provide support to saburo like he did for ichiro. hifumi is a lot like jyushi so this managed to work out lol hifumi happened to be the last 2gumi leftover LOL but i think hifumi might find use in buddhist teachings of the mind

Yet another AU
Since I need this fem!HypMic AU to explain how I came up with some assorted headcanons I was planning to post, you might as well have it. (It's SFW, because I don't think I'm capable of writing NSFW.)
Notes:
In my head, this genderswap business is brought about by the psychic powers Gentaro has in this AU.
In MTC's case, the exact storyline I have in my head for this is quite clear - Jyuto gets transformed first by Gentaro, then Samatoki is attacked by a (female) psychic-type user who takes issue with an offhanded comment he makes about fem!Jyuto, then Riou takes an attack from Gentaro meant for fem!Samatoki and fem!Jyuto.
In FP's case, Gentaro transforms himself and his teammates out of curiosity.
BB unapologetically took their names from Gotoubun no Hanayome/The Quintessential Quintuplets, so to distinguish themselves, they changed Jiro’s name to “Nina”…That’s all they did...
Notice that I didn't change a lot about the characters - I wanted to keep them as close to their original characterisation and appearance as possible.
There is one character (more?) used to dealing with women who helps their division members out with the swap: BB help each other out, for MTC it's Samatoki (because of Nemu), for FP it's Ramuda and for MTR it's jacket on!Hifumi or Jakurai where necessary. (I don't know about DH and BAT.)
Due to the swap, BB changed their division name temporarily to "Buster Babes".
Ichiro -> Ichika (一花)
An unapologetic bishonen chaser and former delinquent who likes music (particularly rap), but also otome games, anime and manga. Secretly a fujo (?).
Has the shortest hair of the sisters.
Jiro -> Nina (二奈)
Sporty and outgoing, also an anime and manga fan. Unapologetic fujo who shares shipping content with her sister.
For her appearance, see the ARB event where Ichiro and Doppo become temporary hosts.
Saburo -> Miku (美玖)
Unlike her sisters, Miku is just an ordinary riajuu (normie), albeit a smart, smug one. Likes classical music.
For her appearance, see the ARB event where Ichiro and Doppo become temporary hosts.
Samatoki -> Makoto (誠, which means “sincerity”) (LOL)
A trash-talking, chain-smoking wakagashira of the Katen yakuza with boyish short hair. She wears men’s clothing because women’s stuff doesn’t always fit her and so she only takes interest in vintage men's clothing.
(How a woman got this far in the yakuza…no one will ever know. Maybe she's a dansou wearer...?)
Jyuto -> Touko (桃子, a play on the fact Jyuto was born in spring while also retaining the "to" sound)
A long-haired policewoman, who is never seen without some kind of rabbit accessory, including phone background and phone case (although those don’t really count as “accessories”…?).
Has terrible eyesight. Typically wears pantsuits.
Riou -> Ouka (桜花, the middle name is still "Mason"...like Jyuto's, the name's carrying over sound while changing kanji)
A former navywoman who is constantly seen toting around what appears to be a hunting rifle, despite weapons being outlawed by the H Act.
Hairstyle does not change (pixie cut, probably?). Ouka is significantly shorter than Riou, but tall for a woman her age.
Ramuda -> Kazuko (数子)
A bubbly, short fashion designer who likes to holler at her “oniisans”…much to their consternation…
Might be bi (?) It's hard to tell.
Gentaro -> Akiko (晶子, from Akiko Yosano, much like “Yumeno” may be from Kyuusaku Yumeno)
A demure author, dressed in a school outfit from the Taisho era (red andonbakama, or undivided hakama, as opposed to the black umanori hakama Gentaro wears). Has a design on her hakamashita (the kimono that goes under the hakama), unlike Kuko. Has longer hair than Gentaro does, but only to keep a (red) bow in it.
Constantly procrastinating before deadlines.
Dice -> Nana (奈々, sounds like the Japanese word for "seven")
A gambler who would gamble away everything...but her undergarments.
Jakurai -> Teruko (輝子, meaning “shining child”, playing on both the holy imagery and the “thunder” in "Jakurai")
A genius doctor with a mysterious past. Occasionally ties up her hair when treating patients, but is not known for braiding it. (Therefore, any braiding is probably Kazuko's fault.)
Teruko is shorter than Jakurai, but tall for a woman.
Hifumi -> ひふみ [just change name to hiragana]
A popular hostess at a hostess club. Seen as extremely shy because she can't really handle her coworkers without her jacket.
Hifumi faints upon first seeing the transformation and has a much harder time getting used to the genderswap than the others.
Doppo -> Ayumi (歩) [could also be called Tokiko (国子)] (both are puns on Kunikida Doppo)
A long-haired office lady who has no notable characteristics (see the Delinquent Policeman ARB event for what she looks like).
Sasara -> [no change, because apparently Sasara's name is feminine as it stands]
A manzai comedienne with long hair, pinned up at the back of her head with a large clip. Typically seen wearing gaudy dresses and even gaudier shoes.
Rosho -> Sumire (菫, meaning "violet (flower)", pun on the “azalea” in the surname, since azaleas are normally pink and Rosho is purple-themed)
A maths teacher and former manzai comedienne with Sasara. Looks old-timey, but is actually only 26. Wears round glasses for cosmetic/sentimental reasons.
Rei -> [no change] [could also be called "Reiko" (零子)]
A self-styled “conwoman” and the mother (?) of the Yamada sisters.
Kuko -> 空子 (same pronunciation, one different kanji) [Possible spoiler for the Harmonious Cooperation drama track: if you don't mind overlapping with Hitoya's brother, you could call her "Sora" (空)]
A former delinquent lady, currently in training to be a shrine maiden. Seems like a bit of an airhead (<-pun on her name), but would never be unfaithful to anything she's dedicated to.
Jyushi -> Tsukiko (月子)
A timid visual-kei (dansou-wearing) vocalist who occasionally hams it up with chuunibyou. To the fans of Argo Kushii Gakudan, it’s a secret that she’s a girl…
Hitoya -> Yui (由衣, a pun on 獄衣 gokui (prison uniform))
A money-grubbing lawyer with a bob and a pencil skirt. Seems like a strict obasan, but is actually kind (LOL).
Update: Tweaked various things around to better work with the AU plus to mark a spoiler...Also, I know I changed Kuko's entire raison d'etre, and apparently there are female Japanese Buddhist monks, but...can you see a female Kuko being one? No? Didn't think so. That's why, despite my best efforts, fem!Gentaro and fem!Kuko's outfits overlap to some extent, although a shrine maiden has a haori while a Taisho schoolgirl has a hakamashita.

Who Should You Fight- Osomatsu San Edition
(Listen I don’t care if these types of posts are outdated, I am craving serotonin, attention, and validation plus I am dying to talk about my special interest)
Osomatsu- Fighting Osomatsu is probably a pretty safe bet. The only things he really going for him is that he’s scrappy and tenacious, so it will be an endurance match. But if you persist, you could probably win. And if the circumstances are right, you could probably enlist the help of his brothers to take him down.
Karamatsu- Karamatsu is another easy target. Just insult his fashion sense and he’ll probably fall so far in despair you could probably just wail on him. Plus, he becomes a total pushover if you compliment/praise him, so you could always distract him that way and sucker punch him. He’s also been shown to be one of the more timid brothers when it comes to confrontation. You would win but also like... why would you want to fight Karamatsu? He’s so considerate and kind.
Choromatsu- Out of all the brothers, Choromatsu is definitely the easiest fight. Just start some sort of stupid idol or manga discourse and he’ll get so caught up in arguing about it that you can just slam dunk him into a trash can. Additionally, he’s also the more timid of the brothers when it comes to confrontation, so there’s a good chance he won’t fight back. Fight Choromatsu; teach him he’s not as put together and as capable as he believes himself to be. He could stand to be knocked down a peg.
Ichimatsu- It is nearly impossible to win a fight against Ichimatsu. One of three things will happen. The first outcome is that he’ll just sit there and take it, believing it’s a punishment he deserves and then you’ll feel bad and is that really a victory? The second outcome is that Ichi has been shown to have one of the shortest tempers and the most prone to violence, so there’s a chance he will go absolutely off the rails and beat the shit out of you. The third outcome is he’s masochist, so he’ll just enjoy it. You could try distracting him with a cat and then jumping him, but you better be quick about it or else he will get pissed and throw hands. Just save yourself the effort and don’t fight Ichimatsu (Also I will beat you up if you try to fight him)
Jyushimatsu- DO NOT FIGHT JYUSHIMATSU, DO YOU WANT TO DIE??? Not only is he a wild card, but he’s the only brother who enjoys physical activity so he probably has like. Actual brute strength and muscle mass. Combine that the fact that he knows how to use a basebal bat and you’re gonna be grand slammed into the sun. Also, he knows how to wrestle, so good luck with that bby. Plus, if you fight Jyushi, you’ll start beef with Ichi and then he’ll beat your ass in to oblivion. And why do you want to fight Jyushi in first place?? What did the Sunshine NEET do to hurt you?? Under no circumstances should you fight Jyushimatsu.
Todomatsu- Now then, if you said Todomatsu has the physical constitution of a baby bird and therefore would be the easiest fight, I would forgive you. But what you need to keep in mind is that Todomatsu fights really dirty. Just when you think he can’t sink any lower, he does. Deception and manipulation are like, his thing. And if he doesn’t beat you up physically, he has screenshots that could ruin your life and he is ready to doxx you at any moment. He will also not hesitate to roast every aspect of life, finding flaws in everything you do. Tbh, it’s best if you just avoid fighting Todomatsu bc he will make you feel worse about yourself than you already do.
TL;DR- Any member of the older trio is fair game for a fight but stay far, far away from younger trio because you will not win no matter what you try

scrounged around for some more dh/bat stage spoilers and found a decent summary! i had a hard time understanding it tho so i know i’m missing chunks (even more than what the summary gives me lol) but anyway key points from the summary that i got:
the auxiliary team seems to be students of rosho’s?? sasara comes to visit rosho and they geek out over the famous comedian their teacher knows and then geek out over the comedy routine sasara pulls rosho into
lol and apparently that’s a recurring thing where sasara starts a skit and rosho unconsciously goes along with it lol rosho tells sasara at one point to stop that but you know sasara is having the time of his life 😂
anyway the aux team is a duo rn because their other member broke it off with them
cue sad sasara noises
their missing member apparently has been acting strange and rosho and sasara go to rei for answers
and this part of the summary made excited because when confronting rei, rei understands why rosho is asking but doesn’t get why sasara is there. i don’t think he really gives an answer but you can’t tell me he’s not only just trying to help out these kids get their old partner back, but because where rosho goes sasara is making sure to follow!!!! feeling super validated rn about rosho leading sasara into plot he would have otherwise stayed out of if rosho wasn’t there!!!!!!
anyway said missing member is actually with jyushi trying to get him to help him out
we find out through rei and also through jyushi listening to the guy, that his grandma is sick and started working with shady people to get money to pay for her medical bills. he’s being thoroughly manipulated by the boss tho but he’s trying to get out
jyushi is totally crying and why not man they have similar life experiences
i think hitoya and kuukou have been there this entire time tho? idk when they showed up but kuukou stresses the dude needs to fight back against his boss
and in another interesting moment to read, kuukou is kuukou and doesn’t mince his words so it comes off cruelly. after the guy runs off because of how hurt he is, jyushi and hitoya both scold kuukou for being mean and reminding him that not everyone is as strong as he is.
i do wonder if that’s going to be part of kuukou’s character growth going forward, learning to be softer? especially teamed up with someone like jyushi
idk where this play has taken place this whole time but kuukou finds the troubled teen in mothertruckin ikebukuro where kuukou apologizes and also setting my expectations for ichikuu reunion coming with an apology since these plays have been suspiciously lining up with character plot points not yet discussed but we know needs to be
i think dh/bat come together with the aux team to beat up the manipulative asshole plaguing the sad member who was out here guilt tripping him for leaving him by saying he needs to think of his grandma. well, i know dh was there idk if bat was but there was a part where jyushi is laying out his verse and both kuukou AND hitoya do some flips as backup and that’s what’s up lmao go hitoya go!!! and the final battle seems to be the best place to put that lol
all’s well that ends well, the aux team are back together and hitoya the goat pays off all the bills for the kid’s grandma’s medical expenses and even recommended taking her to jakurai mr. miracle doctor
that’s actually the entire summary just transcribed to my understanding lol my bad. but something this play has really cemented for me is...... sasara and kuukou aren’t the best of leaders.
on sasara’s part, sasara just doesn’t want to. sure rei’s the established wild card and is harder to lead/direct, but outside of leading rosho into a pun, sasara largely just goes along with rosho and doesn’t care to change the flow
as for kuukou, those are growing pains. there’s potential, and that’s why kuukou’s dad let him train jyushi, but it’s obvious kuukou’s going to need a bit of an attitude adjustment. it was pointed out to him in the play that not everyone is as strong as he is and going from being partners with someone who was as strong as he was (and i’m sure buried within him somewhere, kuukou did think that ichiro was his leader since wherever ichiro went, he did too) to being with a team who can’t keep up means learning from them to help bring them forward with him
good stuff out here, assuming that this summary is accurate lol
