49, 57 orange, 63 for the music asks! (shh, I know I'm late it's fineee)
49. Is there a cover you like more than the original version?
57. Send me a color and I'll tell you the first song it reminded me of.
63. Do you prefer live recordings or studio recordings?
It depends on the artist and how heavily produced their music is, but usually with the artists I like I prefer live! I appreciate being able to hear something a bit pared down and allowing the artist to emote more in the moment than in a studio recording where they're cobbling together a bunch of takes.
I mean, that Hozier recording of Francesca where he looks like he's about the burst into tears? THAT'S THE GOOD STUFF, BABY. SIR, WHO HURT YOU. I WILL THROW HANDS

Sunday in the Tick Tick Boom film will never not make me cry thinking about how Jonathan Larson must have been beaming somewhere out there seeing legends like Phylicia Rashad, Bernadette Peters (how Andrew is visibly emotional sharing a shot with her, knowing how much this would’ve meant to Jon), Chita Rivera, Joel Grey, André De Shields in his work… seeing his original Rent cast members Adam Pascal, Daphne Rubin-Vega & Wilson Jermain Heredia…
Tumblr media
And just the way the scene is directed.
It’s absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful.

WELCOME TO MOVIE NIGHT ON THE BEACH!
There will be three different screens set up throughout the Santa Monica Pier and surrounding beach with showings of different LGBTQ+ films. Concession stands with popcorn, candy, drinks, pizza, and nachos will be set up for everyone to enjoy.
See below for the schedule of movies and which screens will be showing which, and enjoy your night!
MOVIE SCREEN ONE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BEACH:
Imagine Me & You: (During her wedding ceremony, Rachel (Piper Perabo) notices Luce (Lena Headey) in the audience and feels instantly drawn to her. The two women become close friends, and when Rachel learns that Luce is a lesbian, she realizes that despite her happy marriage to Heck (Matthew Goode), she is falling for Luce. As she questions her sexual orientation, Rachel must decide between her stable relationship with Heck and her exhilarating new romance with Luce.)
Disclosure: (A documentary examining Hollywood's depiction of transgender people and the impact it's left on both the transgender community and American culture.)
MOVIE SCREEN TWO ON THE PIER:
The Prom: (Down-on-their-luck Broadway stars shake up a small Indiana town as they rally behind a teen who wants to go to the prom with her girlfriend.)
To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Neymar: (Elite Manhattan drag queens Vida Boheme (Patrick Swayze) and Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes) impress regional judges in competition, securing berths in the Nationals in Los Angeles. When the two meet pathetic drag novice Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Alberto Leguizamo) -- one of the losers that evening -- the charmed Vida and Noxeema agree to take the hopeless youngster under their joined wing. Soon the three set off on a madcap road trip across America and struggle to make it to Los Angeles in time.)
MOVIE SCREEN THREE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BEACH:
Call Me by Your Name: (It's the summer of 1983, and precocious 17-year-old Elio Perlman is spending the days with his family at their 17th-century villa in Lombardy, Italy. He soon meets Oliver, a handsome doctoral student who's working as an intern for Elio's father. Amid the sun-drenched splendor of their surroundings, Elio and Oliver discover the heady beauty of awakening desire over the course of a summer that will alter their lives forever.)
Rent: (In this musical, set at the dawn of the 1990s, a group of New Yorkers struggle with their careers, love lives and the effects of the AIDS epidemic on their community. Mark (Anthony Rapp), an aspiring filmmaker, and Roger (Adam Pascal), an HIV-positive musician, scramble for money to pay rent to their landlord and former roommate, Benny (Taye Diggs). Meanwhile, their friend Tom (Jesse L. Martin), a professor, has fallen for Angel (Wilson Jermaine Heredia), who is slowly dying of AIDS.)
