concept: Ijekiel is a generational yandere. We don't see duchess Alpheus because Roger has her successfully confined to her rooms

This is insanely good though, like, YES- how did I not-!?!!?

Physically it could make sense cause when a child looks like their parent's copy it can go 1 of 2 ways...1) they are nothing alike in terms of personality, 2) they are exactly alike in terms of personality. Ijekiel is...following after his father's footsteps in appearing harmless in front of most but can and will strike when needed. Love, for example.

Being a duke, Roger could have either had a fiancee from young and absolutely loved the heck out of her or disliked her because she wasn't his type and was his parent's choice for rank/power. IF he disliked her, he could have devised a plan to get rid of her and bring in the person who he dearly liked/loved and she either 1) loved him back, 2) didn't love him but put up with him because she'd get to be a duchess 3) fell in love with him later on.

Either way, IMO, new HC has arrived in my mind palace and Ijekiel inheriting yandere tendencies is SO freaking enjoyable!!! Like, he'd see his mom really rarely and was basically raised by his father alone. He knows his mother is alive and well but wonders why he can never meet her when he wants to. His father answers him with a bright, warm smile on his face after closing the doors to his mother's chambers behind him.

"Ijekiel, remember my son- when you love someone, cherish them dearly. They will forever be yours. Always like sunshine in your eyes and when you find that special someone..." His father ruffles his hair.

"Make sure they are for your eyes alone."

Ijekiel takes these words to heart, and when he finds someone who catches his eye...a glimmer of sheer want grips his heart. He wanted to take her away from this beautiful ball for she was more precious than the rarest of roses.

"For my eyes alone..." he mumbled, his gaze following the smooth pink silk as he walked up to her.

"May I have this dance...your highness?"

I was thinking about how Ezekiel only ever wanted one thing, and it was Athanasia, and thinking about that and the possiblity of it being unrequited (not necessarily unrequited but you get my point) , really made me go bonkers. So I decided to give you one of my favorite songs (so suffer for what you did to my mushy peas brain with the Winter Prince MWAHAHAHA)

And this one is another I was working on previously but it was so good that I had to add it to this one.

So there's two AU's I relate this song too.

So this AU takes place after the execution of Athanasia, Jeannette wakes up from her poison induced coma, and found out that Ezekiel killed himself out of Grief from nearly losing his sister and his lover.

So the idea came from my head when I thought about how nice it would be to have a good relationship between Jeannette and Ezekiel, after everything they've gone through, they deserve it. But I kill them all off here so yeah Lol

Btw, Jeannette sent Rosalia off to the stakes because she (Rosalia, not Jeannette) was already facing Witch allegations, and since she caused the death of Jeannette's two most important people in her life, she was burned.

But of course, this Rosalia Is a bitch, so she's not guilty.

Or,

The second AU is the Marie Antoinette AU. Except instead of dying unjust and with decapitation/hanging (yes it is still unjust but it's witchcraft allegations) she dies a burning death , swearing that obelia will fall on the first new moon after her death.

Aeternitas and Anastacius soon return that very new moon.

Lp Claude loved Jennette?? I always thought he only used her for his headache but in the side story Athy says that Claude looked at Jenette warmly and spoke softly to her and told her to stay away because it was dangerous when athy was dying of pain (I wanted kill him at that time) and that confuses me a lot.

Also, in the side story, at some point Claude gets jealous of Jennette and Ezekiel's relationship?? It also strikes me that he so easily agreed to that commitment and did not postpone it as with athy (until 26 lmao)

I'd go reread that part but that side story makes me really mad so I'm asking here 😭 Besides, I also want to express my hatred for LP Universe. I also hate Roger and Rosaria so much in that story, just remembering it I want to hit them all

Eh, up to interpretation.

Take into consideration that Jennette's black magic literally makes people love her, that's its whole purpose. You can see how... unsettling it can be when it made all those nobles get into a sort of frenzy when looking at Jennette (just before the scene when lucathy has their date at the lake). It was pretty scary mind control. And the prose when LP!Claude talks about Jennette was always pretty disturbing to me. "He felt bad, but suddenly, for some reason, when he looked at Jennette... it was as if all that pain went away...", "Jennette said to just get rid of the source of his headaches, so he should kill Athanasia, yes..." that sort of stuff. Pretty pavlovian lmao.

If you think his feelings could be sincere under those conditions, then he loved her. It could be a mix of real feelings and mind control. Or just 100% fabricated stuff. I don't really care because LP!Claude sucks lmao.

In any case, he loved her less and/or less sincerely than how wmmap!Claude loved Athy (duh, no mind control shenanigans, but also, Claude's pov is so, so, so much more loving with Athy). And yeah, it is telling that he refused to let Athy go for years, while he didn't care about Jennette getting married at 18-ish.

Also, it's been a while since I read the novel, but I don't remember any scene of LP!Claude interacting with Ijekiel, sorry.
