okay im stressed im trying to think of a fic for wings of fire and i wont say much but i was thinking about if sunny had a dragonet but like... who would she even have it with cause shes never shown interest in anyone really and maybe she would be aro but then i looked some stuff up and found this quote from an interview thing from tui about, i think, book 9?
"I do have someone in mind for Sunny one day that I have introduced elsewhere in the series, and if they ever meet, I think they’d be perfect for each other. But it’s a matter of getting them into the same place at the same time."
THIS IS SO VAGUE AND AAA WHAT. like. who :[
anyone got any ideas? i found a thread about this somewhere once but all the options people gave didnt really make sense with her. not to mention, i dont even know if the series will continue after book 15?
i could always just make an oc and all that but idk, i thought id give a try at a canon character first maybe

happy sunday!
let’s clown for a bit, shall we? an example of things they do that give us some hint. WoF released a bts today and fans noticed that yibo was imitating an actor’s line from an old sketch/skit. it went on hot search = #王一博imitates Chen Peisi# and the first comment is where the cpn starts from:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
which is correct because the skit was aired in the 1990 CCTV spring festival gala. i’m not saying you can’t watch old videos and be fond of them, it’s just that this seems far from the kind of material yibo would come across naturally. we also don’t see yibo showing interest in stuff like this before. and as far as he has shared on interviews, he is watching more european films in preparation for filming mermaid/intercross. or watching moto races & hip hop competitions.
what a coincidence cause in one of the behind the scenes for yuguyao, xz was imitating a sketch done in 1992 CCTV Spring festival gala — and no one in the cast and crew reacted. they didn’t get it. i may be wrong, but this makes me think that it’s not as popular to remember these skits.
Tumblr media
the speculation now is watching old skits is something xz enjoys, and has been picked up by yibo too. i remember the fake rumor that said xz was watching drama clips and he does that more often cause he has no time to watch the full episode. so getting into these short sketches is no different.
these two and their interests that only them will (mostly) understand 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ and no matter how weird the other person’s hobby is at the moment, it will always be supported! 🤍

Min Hee Jin vs HYBE Scandal Interview
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⚠️DISCLAIMER! TAROT CARDS ARE NOT 100% ACCURATE! TAKE EVERYTHING WITH A GRAIN OF SALT! IF MY INTERPRETATIONS ARE INCORRECT FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ME!⚠️
Q : How are you feeling today? (QoW rx)
A : Well… I’m pissed off to be honest. I don’t know if I should be paranoid or continue fighting. I am aware that I’m causing a major uproar on social media but what else can I do?
Q : How do you feel about your secrets all being revealed lately? (5oC, 4oS, AoS, Devil rx)
A : I’m actually quite disappointed, I really didn’t think my secrets would ever be revealed to the public. I feel like running away and hiding because I’m too overwhelmed at the moment. I truly do feel embarrassed but I’m also glad I could finally be free from this company.
Q : Why did you partake in all of this shady work? ( 3oW rx, 10oS)
A : I was too impatient… I wanted to make quick money and prove to other companies that my ideas were actually unique and wil bring me successful but unfortunately my impatience completely backfired on me.
Q : Do you feel betrayed by “That guy?” (Horizontal 7oS)
A : Well… it’s 50/50 to be honest. I could say i feel betrayed but not really. I already knew he was a bad person overall, people in the industry know this guy and how much of a thief he is. But once again… I just wanted the money and now he tipped off that company.😒
Q : Do you think the reason why you got exposed was all rooted from misogyny? (7oP & WoF)
A : No lol! People in the company are just jealous their concepts and groups weren’t gaining attention and success so they decided to sabotage me.
Q : What are your thoughts on HYBE CEO’s at this moment? (4oP, 2oS, QoP, 3oC)
A : Well… they are just a bunch of money hungry dudes who wanted to steal my creations… I did not want to give them my concepts at all and I honestly should’ve been more wary because look now… we all have caused major disruption.
Q : Any words to the NEWJEANS members? (Hermit, Empress, 3oS rx, PoP rx)
A : Umm… firstly, i truly believe we all might have to part ways and I would like to apologize to all of you. I should’ve thought smarter and found safer ways to create all of our successes. I was supposed to be your motherly figure, who’d be there for you guys and continue creating beautiful projects together but instead I was really self centered and money hungry. I really don’t want to go but I have no choice but to, I’m aware it’s going to be a bit of a struggle having to heal from all of this. So many things are going to be changing for better and worse because this industry is just… full of crap but once again I am truly sorry to all 5 of you… I truly should’ve used this darn brain and my heart too.
Q : Any words for the other HYBE groups? (Magician rx, Hanged Man rx, 4oW, 10oC rx, PoC rx, QoS, 9oW rx, Death rx, 4oC & 10oW rx)
A : Eh… y’all cool I guess. To be honest I really have no words to any of them. I’m just quite unhappy and critical as to how your CEO’s used my ideas for your concepts. And good luck with continuing to having disharmony amongst each other and having creative blocks as a whole.
Q : What are your plans once this situation has “calmed down?” (Emperor, KoC, KoS rx, AoS rx, 5oC)
A : Umm… right now, I’m thinking of the present. I’m still trying to take in all of this drama and even possibly thinking of walking away for good.

A recent drawing of Bear, my MudWing OC!
I actually made Bear before the protagonist of The Dangerous Gift was announced, and I came up with an OC as a way to make a MudWing protagonist.
I can shift details around depending on the RP, but these are canon-compliant ideas I had at the time, updated based on what I know about how the story ends.
The prologue would likely be from Glory or Queen Moorhen's perspective, as they meet up to discuss the MudWings killed in the Rainforest. During the meeting, Moorhen's scribe (Bear) bursts into tears, explaining that the bodies they brought out were the last of their sibs. Bear is an only child now.
Timeskip to after the War of Sandwing Succession, and after Darkstalker has been defeated. Bear is travelling around Pyrrhia. after learning they're an only child, Moorhen insisted that Bear take time off to pursue their dream of studying the world and documenting it in scrolls to be published all over.
Throughout this, Bear is haunted by the deaths of their sibs but is distracting themselves with research, refusing to acknowledge the pain they're in.
During their research, they're trying to figure out a way to get past the great ice cliff to interview some icewings, and they sleep on an island, and wake up to being surrounded by pantalan dragons!
from here it's fuzzy on the details, but I picture that throughout the story, Bear learns to admit that they're not okay and they need help.
The book ends with Bear talking with Moorhen about what Mudwing should be sent to Pantala to defeat the Othermind, but they end up talking about Bear's situation, and organising Bear to become an unsib.
Bear isn't too keen on it, because they feel that it'd be replacing the siblings they lost, and they worry about upsetting the balance of an already established sibling dynamic. That's when Moorhen offers to let Bear join HER sib troop.
Throughout the story, Bear would have likened Moorhen to a big sister to the entire tribe, the Bigwings to rule all bigwings. So this offer delights Bear, and the book ends with them choosing Bullfrog for muscle, and Bear learning that admitting there's a problem is the first step to fixing it.
I don't think it's a better story than what we got with Snowfall, but I think it's neat. and in my mind, Bear exists in WoF, they're just in the background.

How thick is Ewan’s accent compared to the average Derby person? Were you able to tell he was from there before finding out?
I only knew Ewan Mitchell from HOTD before becoming rabid, and in that he puts on a fairly Southern-ish accent, so no I didn't know at first. But then I watched Trigger Point and then Fire and it all became clear 🌈
I'm gonna go all English Language nerd so apologies in advance.
Fire: (11:05) Ewan says 'nowt' but with a rounded 'o' nəʊt. 'Nowt' as a contraction of 'nothing' is also present in the north of England, but there it's more noticeable with a more elongated 'a' sound naʊt.
(12:56) He also says 'now' in a very Derby way, it's how I used to say it growing up (but it was quickly stomped out by my mother lol). Ewan says 'naa' to say 'now'. A similar way of saying 'house' in a Derby accent is 'aas.
Billy Washington in Trigger Point sounds like the most like how he would really talk (it's similar-ish to his BTS interviews for WOF and HOTD). Vicky McClure (his sister in Trigger Point) is from Nottingham, so I think it's probable he used his normal accent for the series. At 6:53 in this video, he says 'down' like 'daan', very similar to how he says 'surrounded' in his WOF interview here.
In Salad Days, it's VERY Derby/Nottingham. I think a lot of the ways he says things are indicative of his Derby roots but he's pushed the dial up to 100 for sure (even to the point that non-native English speakers need subtitles lol). He talks very fast in it as well, which I imagine doesn't help, but I think a lot of that is in service of the character.
All in all, he has a fairly standard Derby/Midlands-y accent. Not particularly thick to my ear, but I might be biased since I'm from there. Apologies for the essay, English Language was part of my degree so I've gone all out lol

Blake said in his interview with Cody that he didn’t even realize what a big deal the WoF ceremony was because Carson and Adam were just roasting him, and that he realized what a big deal it was only when G got hers. He said Carson and Adam ruined his moment. Gwen now said basically the same exact thing. I know Blake was joking, but I think he does regret not taking it more seriously and having someone from the business to speak at his ceremony to make it more meaningful.

[Spoilers] WoF Guide book opinions
I recently got the guide and I wanted to share what I thought of it. Honestly, not really meant to be a post explaining in-depth details about what was in the guide, but yeah, this post will contain spoilers for the guide if you haven't read it yet. I'm going to go through it in chapters.
MudWings
I actually really liked the stuff we got in this chapter. It was sort of ruined because everything in it was spoiled or leaked before I got it, the only thing I had not seen yet as of reading that chapter was 2 pages, but I still really like the characters introduced and how it expanded on characters we already know.
SeaWings
This chapter was nice. Not my favorite, but I wouldn't say it was bad. Kind of wish there was more new information since there was a whole part just about Coral recapping the war of SandWing succession. I would have much rather have learned about some kind of folklore or something instead. I think the inclusion of letters between Albatross and Lagoon was cool but it really didn't give us any cool new information, instead just showed how their relationship was like. The Turtle and Anemone parts were fine. The chapter overwhelmingly featured royal SeaWing things when really, learning about some non royal SeaWing stuff would have been so much better because we have really only seen royal SeaWings this whole series.
RainWings
I would say I enjoyed this chapter. I wasn't really into the Kinkajou story but I get its importance in the series, but it felt like an excuse to get to write something from Kinkajou's perspective for once. The Dangers of the Rainforest things was honestly not really insightful. I would have much rather had something about RainWing potions which have been mentioned in other books, that sounds interesting while the Dangers of the Rainforest is really just more about the Rainforest than RainWings. The thing about royal challenges was interesting and included some cool history, it was also interesting to learn about a few other possible challenges that can happen during these. I do like the information about how RainWings traditionally tell stories that are passed down through words rather than writing.
NightWings
This chapter was ok. I skimmed a lot of it. The Tales of the NightWings story was interesting and I like the conversation between Starflight and Fatespeaker that took place after it. The guide to NightWing powers felt pretty unnecessary. I get that this is supposed to represent a real guide that would exist in the series, but I also feel like there should have been more of a priority to give us new information rather than give us information we have been told many times before. The Mastermind interview was way longer than it needed to be, but I did like the history we got about the NightWings developing language and medicine. Fierceteeth's letters was really interesting and seeing some character development in her was really nice
SandWings
Honestly, probably my least favorite section. The wanted treasure poster was cool but then we get thrown into stuff we've already been told. There really is not a lot of new information we learn in this chapter which sucks because I would have loved some SandWing history from Jerboa times or something about the Sorpion Den being founded. There was no reason why most of the chapter had to be focused on Smolder's scavenger journal.
IceWings
Honestly, very cool chapter imo. It also just looked really pretty. Mink's application was pretty long and tbh didn't really add anything to anything. Also, I thought we would get to learn about some new animus gifts but it just restated old gifts we had already learned about without expanding on the information. Literally just exactly what is on the wof wiki plus a tiny little bit of information about Diamond as a dragonet. The feast thing was cool, I never realized how interesting information about food could be but I found myself interested in it. I did really like the Caribou story and that whole history, that's kind of what I wanted more of in the animus gift guide: putting names to animi to their enchantments.
SkyWings
I'd say this chapter was interesting. Although most of the Scarlet kill list was stuff we already know, it's interesting that Tui created a whole new character to put on there with no context as to who they are. I wonder if she wants to do something with this character. I also found the letter from Queen Carmine to Queen Pearl interesting. We got to see a bit of how the massacre was explained to the SkyWings and Queen Carmine's personality. The Tailwind story was interesting, especially near the end parts. It really did explain quite a bit about SkyWing traditions (well, the traditions before they were taken away by Scarlet). I never guessed that Canyon would just be the male version of Scarlet and the reason she had him killed was because he was too obsessed with himself when Scarlet had to make sure she was the dragon most obsessed with herself instead.
SilkWings
This chapter was alright. I enjoyed the information about the SilkWing curriculum and professions back when they were in the Hives. This chapter, and all of the Pantalan chapters, never addressed the LeafSilk Kingdom or the SilkWing Assembly. It is as if that never happened and they were still living in the Hives. I like the history in Monarch's writing and thought that the part about her bringing cookies to the queen meetings was really cute. Aside from that, there was no BeetleWing info which I was really looking forward to possibly seeing.
HiveWings
I did like a lot of information in this chapter. The Hive guides was cool since we really only got a focus on two of them during all of arc 3. The Legend of the Hive part was ok, really just information we already knew, but also interesting that some SeaWings also moved to Pantala with the BeetleWings, LeafWings, and some RainWings. The Book of Clearsight excerpts were also interesting, probably would have been more if they hadn't been leaked.
LeafWings
This chapter was really short. The guide to the Poison Jungle was alright. I did really like the books part. Learning about folklore within the series is what I was more looking forward to in this guide. Then there were the letters with Belladonna and Liden which were alright. But that's it, the whole chapter is 3 things.

excerpts from this article/interview with WoF director related to Wang Yibo ( “"War of Faith" director Yao Xiaofeng: I took the energy from Wang Yibo and transferred it to Wei Ruolai”) :
Tumblr media
From 2018 to 2024, "War of Faith" took a full 6 years from preparation to release. During the period, it went through shelving, postponement, and repeated adjustments after the filming started. It was not until the joining of Wang Yibo, Li Qin, and Wang Yang that this project, a project years in the making came to life.
The turning point of things happened in November 2022. At that time, a friend recommended Wang Yibo to Yao Xiaofeng, and the two teams made an appointment to meet together.
Previously, Yao Xiaofeng only knew that Wang Yibo was a very popular artist. He had also doubted whether such a young actor without professional training could sustain his performance? Will you be unable to calm down? Can there be a common language?
But when I saw Wang Yibo for the first time, all these worries were shattered.
He found that although the young man opposite had gained huge popularity, he did not feel any elation. He just sat quietly in the corner of the sofa in the office, rarely speaking actively and spending most of his time listening. When asked about his preferences, Wang Yibo simply said: "I like speed." In his eyes and words, in addition to being humble and sincere, there is also an urge to become better.
So Yao Xiaofeng asked Wang Yibo: "I have a young man here who is performing a Republican drama in Shanghai. Are you interested?" Wang Yibo also expressed interest on the spot.
This originally planned simple meeting lasted from noon to dark. After the meeting, Yao Xiaofeng said firmly to producer Zhang Shuwei: "This is him. This is the actor I want."
The original version of the small house that Wei Ruolai rented was relatively spacious and cozy, but Yao Xiaofeng insisted on making the space even more cramped. Only in this way can we present the living beings at the bottom of the class who had difficulty transcending classes at that time, and form a sharp contrast with the ten-mile foreign market of Shanghai.
Wang Yibo and Wei Ruolai
In Yao Xiaofeng's view, Wei Ruolai is a clean, young and passionate young man with great "tenacity". Wang Yibo's innate temperament made Yao Xiaofeng see the perfect fit between him and Wei Ruolai, and made Yao Xiaofeng interested in the role of Wei Ruolai. The inspiration for the second creation.
He had previously learned that Wang Yibo relied on his talent and energy to make his way from Henan to the world step by step. In order to allow the audience to be more involved, he wrote Wang Yibo's enthusiasm on Wei Ruolai, strengthening the contrast between the two worlds of Qibao Street and Shili Foreign Market, as well as the workplace environment of the Central Bank.
In the story of "War of Faith", there is not only the feelings of family and country, but also the story of how an ordinary young man hesitates and chooses between two forces and finally finds his self-worth after working hard.
"I like children who have goals, struggles, ideals, and pursuits. These are the qualities that young people should possess. So I admire Wang Yibo very much. He has been working hard to transform. I hope that young people can also see from Wei Ruolai — When you see your own shadow, you can gain some enlightenment." Yao Xiaofeng said.
Yao Xiaofeng once said that the drama "War of Faith" incorporates modern people's way of thinking, making the characters in the drama more three-dimensional and giving the audience a greater sense of involvement. Therefore, during filming, Yao Xiaofeng never "teaches" actors how to act. Instead, he talks to Wang Yibo about the background and context of each scene. What kind of environment is Wei Ruolai in? This inspires Wang Yibo's truest feelings and makes the character closer to the actor himself.
"For example, when he saw himself wearing a pair of torn socks, how can children today have such an experience? But I let the props cut the socks, and after he put them on himself, he immediately caught the most realistic reaction."
After giving his true reaction, Yao Xiaofeng will discuss with Wang Yibo again. What different emotional levels does Wei Ruolai have at this time? This is also his rigid requirement for all young actors, that is, the feelings and reactions given in each scene must be different.
"When we work with actors, we don't have an unchanging performance template, because I think that is a guilty conscience and a lack of confidence. I don't know when to express myself, so I will act in a comfort zone way. Secondly, All accomplished actors must conquer the audience with their charm. Only when the audience believes in the character and likes the character can they be infected by his charm. In this play, as the chief producer Dai Ying said, Wang Yibo — is young but not raw, I hope Wang Yibo can express it truly and let everyone see a simple, simple and immature boy." Yao Xiaofeng said.
During the filming, Wang Yibo's role was very important. Not only did he have a lot of professional lines, but he also had to shoot from the first scene to the last scene every day. But Yao Xiaofeng discovered that Wang Yibo had never read a script on set, said he missed lines, and could reproduce his true feelings in different situations with sufficient preparation.
The scene where Wei Ruolai gets up to prepare for the interview in a rental house on Qibao Street was filmed less than a week after filming started. After the filming, Yao Xiaofeng cut out some clips. After the two of them watched it together, they both felt very satisfied and built up their confidence. Less than a month into filming, Wang Yibo had his first major scene. Yao Xiaofeng still remembers that after filming this scene, all the staff present applauded Wang Yibo.
Yao Xiaofeng always believes that as long as the candidate is right, more than half of the work will be completed.
"Confidence is built on each other. I gave him confidence and he gave me confidence, so it did not affect the shooting. In Yibo, I saw his most sincere pursuit of performance, just like he became a stage actor from a child — the king of movies, so I also believe that he can become a very good actor in terms of acting. If there is a suitable subject in the future, I hope to cooperate with Wang Yibo, Wang Yang and Li Qin again."
Detail control and self-expression
In addition to "realistic control", Yao Xiaofeng is also an extremely detail-oriented person.
In the Qibao Street interview scene, there were only a few lines in the script that read: "Wei Ruolai hurriedly put on clothes to take the exam in the morning." But Yao Xiaofeng was stunned and shot more than 20 scenes, tearing up the calendar, brushing teeth, and talking to Aunt Zhou The dialogues are all added temporarily.
The coat that Aunt Zhou gave to Wei Ruolai, Yao Xiaofeng insisted on replacing it with one that obviously didn't fit. This is because Aunt Zhou runs a laundry and handles clothes for various people, so she found a coat for Wei Ruolai to wear to give him some face. It is this ill-fitting coat that has been accompanying Wei Ruolai to explore the world.
Wei Ruolai's leather shoes must be worn until they are unbearably worn; the brush under the bed must not be used all year round; the tooth powder must be squeezed into a box; after Wei Ruolai washed up, Yao Xiaofeng even messed up Wang Yibo's hair, and the cotton-padded jacket also Wear it wrapped up. It is these details that can highlight the sadness of a lower-class people.
In the end, this scene, which lasted less than two minutes, took three full days to shoot. According to the original announcement, the shooting time for the opening of Qibao Street was one week, but it actually took two weeks. "Everyone was crushed, but everyone was very excited after watching the film. The actors were also excited. Wang Yibo performed very well. I think it was worth it." Yao Xiaofeng said.
