Hi BPP, it's Black Friday. I was wondering if you could share any rec for wireless earbuds? I'm a non-audiophile who's very overwhelmed by all the choices. I'd like a pretty good quality one for music listening but also for all-purpose (calling, general listening) occasions. Is a budget of $100-150 enough? I was recommended Sony WF-1000XM3, but I'm not sure what to look for in the first place. Any help is would be wonderful. Thank you.

You don't know what you've just done. The level of self-control I'm exercising right now you have no idea. Because left to me, I'd do everything in my power to sell you on the BeoLab 50 I got a couple months ago that is frankly better than sex. I'd try to convince you to sell your child or get into crypto NFTs to get it. I could talk from now till tomorrow on this topic... but that isn't what you're asking.

So, the simple answer is that the Sony WF-1000XM3 is very good headphones for that price point, but the Sony WF-1000XM4 is better if you don't mind a modest bump in price. I assume sound quality and comfort are primary considerations for you, so if you're on a budget the Sony WF-1000XM3 will do the job excellently. It's a bit chunky and I'd definitely not recommend getting it wet at all, not even in the gym, but even though it's a bit large it's still comfortable, the noise-cancelling effect on it is great, and it transmits most frequencies really well. If you do plan on wearing earbuds to the gym or using it anywhere you could sweat a lot, and don't mind a bit of a price bump, then I'd recommend the newer iteration: the Sony WF-1000XM4. This one my sister has and she likes it a lot. It's smaller and the battery quality is way better - it holds a charge about 4 hours longer than the older version.

I personally prefer items that are completely water-proof so I use neither of those earbuds, but these are very good all rounder earbuds that more than cover the bases. Sony is a good brand for studio headphones - they're built to last a long while - and these earbuds can hold their own against brands like Sennheiser at an affordable price point.

I'm not sure what research you did Anon, but you've already (potentially) decided on a pretty decent choice.

Brock closed the door to South London Styling behind him and surveyed the room. He had no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the interior. It looked like a good barber, perhaps even towards the higher end. A man in his thirties, dressed in black polo shirt and pants emerged from a back room, and greeted him. “Good Morning. How can I help?” he said in a British accent, which Brock had always thought sounded smart.

Brock pulled out a card from his khakis and handed over. “Well, that’s the thing. I don’t know what you do. It was just my birthday and the frat house gave me this card. Wrapped in like 30 envelopes.” He was reassured by the surroundings. Jake got a gift card for a lap dance from a male escort service. Luke the second got a blow-up sex doll. Luke the first had gotten a hot air balloon ride, but he was afraid of heights. So far this looked like the pretty normal gift, but he was sure there was some twist somewhere. Haircuts?” “We do that too, but we try to be your one-stop for all styling and grooming. As the name suggests we have a more European focus on the style. In particular a look known as Chav.” “Never heard of. Sounds French.” “It is British. Perhaps you have heard the related term Scally?” “Sounds Italian. Nope there too. I love European fashion though. In theory at least. I have a student budget.” “Well, perhaps we can get started and you’ll get a feel for what direction to go. In the all-inclusive package, besides all the grooming, one full outfit is included for you to take home. I’m Alexander by the way.” “Brock”

Brock had no idea what to expect. He didn’t know anything about British fashion trends. Kilts and tweeds would obviously be off the table. Otherwise his only reference was Rob, the exchange student from UK, who always wore too tight pants, sorry trousers. Was that British fashion? He followed the man into the back room.

The room was a surprise. Large and bright, with neutral furniture and muted, light colors. Lots of wardrobe doors along the walls, some furniture to sit on, and a room divider in one corner, presumably acting as a fitting room. “If you like European fashion, let’s start with the European brands”, said Alexander as he went to a wardrobe and pulled out one adidas top after the other, placing them on a rack.

There was a second of confusion for Brock when the contrast between his expectations and the class of the room clashed with the almost jarring display of streetwear. Of course his frat house hadn’t bought him a bespoke suit and tie. He’d expected a twist, then just when he thought this was a real birthday present: twist. But a new set of athletic clothes isn’t cheap, so he decided to engage fully. Let’s go all in with this style and let the house get the laughter they’ve paid for. Perhaps it would even look good on him.

Once past the disappointment, Brock found the whole experience interesting. He hadn’t really thought about the difference in relaxed clothes between different areas. Instead of his normal outfit of jerseys, baller shorts or cargo pants Alexander showed him a range of track tops and “joggers”. Together they placed a black T-shirt, adidas track top, unbranded grey sweats, and a pair of Nike shoes on a couch. As Brock grabbed it all to try it on, Alexander placed two plastic-wrapped bundles on top of the pile. One was a two-pack McKenzie briefs and the other was a 3-pack unbranded white socks.

“You want me to strip naked?” “It’s up to you, but we do offer a complete style.”

It wasn’t until behind the divider, with his khakis and shirt folded into a pile, that he made the decision. It felt weird stripping naked in the same room as another dude, although on the other side of the screen, but he reminded himself that he would use the gift card to the max. Off went his underwear, and he started putting all the new clothes on.

Looking at himself in the mirror it kind of felt different. Sure, it was just clothes, but how often do you replace everything. How often is everything you wear chosen by someone else? He had input on what items to take, but from a selection already decided for him.

“Well mint.” “Mint?” “It looks good on you. Let’s style the rest of you to match.”

They walked back out into the barber part and Brock sat down in one of the chairs. Alexander put a barber’s gown over Brock and started to prepare him for a haircut with a sanex strip around his neck. Brock had a quick thought about his clothes in the other room when Brock spoke again.

“There are a few different styles I would recommend for your look and face shape.” “Just pick whatever you think is best.” “Oh, OK. In that case we have an additional service we can provide while you relax, if you wish. It’s a kind of motivational attitude tape you can listen to. Alexander opened a small box with some wireless in-ear headphones, put on some disposable rubber covers and handed them to Brock. While Brock fiddled with getting them into place, Alexander brought a cup of tea and a small plate with what looked like a piece of single chewing gum.

“Just drink the tea and then start chewing on the chewing gum, and I’ll get started.” Alexander said, and started tapping on a cellphone. The earpieces started to stream a constant, but not very loud hiss. Brock wasn’t used to tea, but this one was alright. Bitter, sweet, and a hint of lemon. Alexander started to draw a line around his skull with a clipper machine. Was he getting a bowl cut? If that is the price for a new set of clothes, so be it. He was getting really relaxed.

Brock jerked violently as he woke up, looking around confused to establish where he was. His eyes landed on an unfamiliar guy. “Good Morning again. Did you have a nice nap?” said someone standing next to him, and slowly he got his brain in gear. “Oi Alex!”. Brock looked back at the unfamiliar guy in the mirror. If it wasn’t for the face, he saw nothing that would clue him in that it was him in the mirror. A fresh set of clothes and a fresh new haircut that somehow managed to look clean, athletic, trashy and aggressive, all at the same time. He was loving it. “Looking mint, mate!” he said, causing Alex to smile.

“I didn’t want to make any decisions for you while you were relaxing. Would you care for a nick or two in the brow?” “Hot looking, innit. Go for it, mate.” Alex took a small clipper and quickly made two slits in Brock’s left eyebrow with his steady hand. There was a piece of stale chewing gum in Brock’s mouth that bothered him. He felt he needed something, but this gum had given all it could. Discretely he took it out when Alex looked away, and stuck it under one of the chair’s armrests.

“Finally, we do have some time for ear piercings if you want.” “Sounds epic, mate.” While Alex went to pick up the piercing gun, Brock grabbed the pack of cigarettes off the desk in front of him, pulled out a fag, and put it in his mouth. Even though it wasn’t lit, it felt so much better to have something in the mouth. “I have these healing studs that look pretty good.” Alex held out a pair of cut glass studs. “You can switch them out for something fancier once healed in 6 weeks, if you want.” “Those are well nice. Fucking mint, innit.”

As Alex cleaned, pierced and finished with his ears, Brock considered what he saw in the mirror. If any of the wankers at the frat gave attitude he would kick them in the teeth. This was mint as fuck. If only he was allowed to light his fucking fag.

When it comes to listening music, using a set of headphones or earbuds can be an essential part of the experience. It gives a more personal and intimate experience with the music.

There is a difference between “earphones” and “headphones”.

“Earphones” or as some people call it “earbuds”, are the ones that go into the inside of your ears whereas headphones are the ones that cover your whole entire ear.

Now, you must be questioning why I’ve titled the blog as “headphones”. Let me tell you my experience on why I think using headphones is for the better. Before getting into the fine details of how the human ear works and the effect of music on our ears, I’ve been an avid user of the famous earphones many people use.

During my music class at the current college I’m attending in, I learned that “earphones are the fastest way to damage your hearing”. The human ear is an organ that protects and filters sounds. It’s like an acoustic organ that balances the stuff we hear. Because the device is inserted straight into your ear, without letting your whole ear be able to “filter” out the sounds it becomes extremely dangerous after long-term exposure. After hearing that statement it really shook my world. Since then, I’ve been starting to use headphones as much as I can instead of earphones. Headphones on the other hand are much safer than earphones/earbuds. Because the sound plays onto your whole ear and not directly, it lessens the impact when listening to music.

Although not everyone is suited to using headphones, I am focusing this post on headphones since I will be taking into the factor of both the regular consumer as well as those involved in music production/industry.

The first brand I’ve tried was LSTN. It was around 2017~2018 when I first discovered this brand. I’ve tried the LSTN Avalon Bamboo earphones. I really liked it for its minimal and appealing design as well as the story behind the company. A brief overview of the company & its headphones:

LSTN is a company that gives back to the hearing community, providing people with the abillity to hear music and sounds globally with every purchase made. They partner with The Starkey Hearing Foundation to provide hearing aids to those in need. Their line of headphones(excluding the kids section) use sustainable and reclaimed wood, vegan leather and an aluminum banding.

Currently, LSTN only has wireless headphones available in their headphone line.

I would say LSTN would fit best for the day-to-day consumer. Even though they have a backup cable for wired use included, I wouldn’t say it’d be perfect for mixing since it was not specifically built for that purpose. One downfactor that would be discouraging is the cost of their headphones. However, their motto and use of materials as well as their aesthetic designs makes it very appealing.

2. House Of Marley

Fave factors of House of Marley: Has the most relatively cheaper options, use of carefully sourced and recycled materials, supports global ocean conservation and reforestation efforts

The second brand I’ve encountered and tried out was House of Marley. It was around 2018~2019 when I found out about their brand. I’ve tried their Smile Jamaica Earbuds. Their brand is known for it’s emphasis on the bass sounds. I could really hear a lot of bass when using their earphones.

House of Marley is a brand that focuses on delivering music to its consumers as well as contributing conservation efforts to the planet especially focusing on ocean restoration and global reforestation efforts. Their materials are carefully sourced and sustainable. House of Marley has more options compared to LSTN’s headphone line-up. It seems that their most expensive headphones have the highest ratings on their website. I would say HOM is best for the regular consumer again especially since their products have an emphasis of their “signature sound” which has a strong bass sound. I wouldn’t think it’d be ideal for someone mixing music, but I think it would be appealing to a regular consumer who loves that bass-y sound. Concerning price, HOM has a variety of relatively mid-high to high price-ranged options which is a bit more appealing for those on a slight budget. I find their clarity about where their materials as nice as well as their conservation efforts!

3. Thinksound

Fave factors about Thinksound: Studio-focused headphones, use of relatively natural & recycled materials

Recommended for: both the regular consumer & music industry involved concsumer, those looking into more eco-friendly headphones designed possibly for the studio?, use of natural materials, nice acoustics

The last brand I found upon my research was Thinksound. A few months back I found their specific type of headphones called, ‘Thinksound On1′ headphones and came across a review that talked about them being used specifically for the studio. It was one of the first and only eco-friendly brands that I came across that created a headphone built for a studio. Unfortunately, the headphones were discontinued and I was sad to see their site was under construction. However, now that I checked back again today, I saw that they had reopened their site again and added some new products!! (Woohoo!)

Thinksound is a company that started out in 2009 striving to deliver products made to allow music to sound the way musicians and music professionals can be respected for. They strive to also use responsibly sourced materials.

To wrap up, these are the top 3 brands I’ve found and recommend you all to try. Although most of them have quite an expensive price tag, supporting companies like these who strive to bring ethically and responsibly sourced materials without diminishing the quality of their products is a great way to listen to your music in an eco-friendly way.

And yes, I know. As you can see in the first picture of this blog, I am currently using AKG K240 headphones. I am hoping to try out brands like Thinksound if they continue to make headphones that can be used in the studio. Headphones (other than speakers) are a crucial factor in the whereabouts of mixing and getting a good sound from it is influential in the way the product and quality of the music that is being produced. I still find it difficult to find brands that have both great sound while being sustainable at the same time especially for studio-based headphones in the music industry. A regular guy’s experience with a military graded phone and why you might want one

The Ulefone Armor 7 Pro is a smartphone designed for adventurers, construction workers and people who are routinely exposed to conditions that would endanger most modern devices. I’m not any of those things, but I still think it was the right choice for me, and it might just suit you too.

What use has a normal guy like me for a phone built to withstand such extreme conditions? I’m no couch potato, I regularly ride my bike to work and back, enjoy the occasional trekking and camping trip and walk around my city a fair bit. Even so, that is a far cry from the kind of person this phone was designed for.

After all, the Ulefone Armor X7 Pro has a IP-68 and a MIL-STD-810G rating, which means it can literally survive for a day buried under a meter of concrete, withstand half an hour under 1.5 meters of water, its completely sealed to dust or sand, and a bunch of other characteristics you can read about here. Essentially, it’s build to last.

About this review

This article is not intended to be a thorough technical review of the phone, but rather a list of reasons why I think it might suit you even if you are not the intended target for it. Therefore I will only go through some of the most important specs, highlighting what I personally consider relevant.

Okay, now that we listed the technical details, let’s consider what each of them brings to the table and how the final product behaves.

Slow and steady

If you are looking for a fast snappy phone with which you can simultaneously scroll through Instagram, watch a video with picture in picture mode, and have a graphic intensive game waiting for you in the background, this isn’t it. Nor is this the price range you should be aiming at.

The Armor Mediatek Helio A20 processor, with a frequency of 1.8GHz, isn’t anything to write home about. And the 4GB of RAM, though an improvement on previous models, pales in comparison to what even mid-range phones pack these days.

And you know what? That’s actually perfectly fine. The purpose of this phone isn’t to win any race, but rather to get the job done. And that it does.

I need my phone to perform what has become over the years a pretty basic list of tasks: social media, document editing, internet browsing, music and video streaming, taking some pics, and basic photo and video editing.

The Ulefone Armor 7 Pro is able to do any of those tasks without issues, even when I need to open two or three apps in the background. Yes, it does get a bit slow or even freezes for a couple of seconds from time to time, but not enough for it to interrupt my experience.

Battery life

Back when smartphones were a new thing, we used to complain about their battery life bitterly. Habituated to our old not so bright devices whose batteries lasted for days, we felt that the tradeoff wasn’t always worth it. Yes, we were now the proud owners of mind-boggling phones that could perform amazing tasks for us. But use them for a couple of hours and you better find somewhere to charge them (and have the time to wait for that to be done).

Luckily, smartphones are getting better at this by the iteration. With its 4000mAh battery, the Ulefone Armor 7 Pro is just another contender in the race for autonomy.

According to my digital wellbeing app, I’ve been using it an average of four and a half hours per day. That’s a lot. It actually puts me in the top 20% of screen time, but being excited for my new gadget and having to do this review I feel a bit justified.

Even so, I usually have at least 30% of the battery left when I finish my day, if not more. And, on the occasions I don’t use it as much, I can go two days without having to think about charging.

At a time when we are seeing affordable phones with 5000mAh of battery that can last up to three days without charge and that have better performance, the Armor X7 Pro’s battery life certainly won’t make any headlines, but it’s still a great perk for the price.

The Ulefone X7 Pro camera

As I said, one of the tasks I need my phone to perform on a daily basis is taking pictures. With a 13 megapixels main camera, a 5 megapixel front camera, and pro, night and underwater modes, the Armor X7 Pro it’s barely able to keep up with today’s standards.

I know, I know, nobody is buying it to start a photography career. But still, I was expecting a bit more, even from those low specs. Truth be told, the night mode usually just ruins the colors in most pictures and the pro mode feels terribly lacking. I still haven’t tried the underwater mode.

The first picture is taken on normal mode, the second with night mode. This kind of open dimly light landscape is the only instance where I found the night mode actually improved the result.

Pro tip: make sure to disable the Ulefone watermark, as I clearly didn’t.

If your only purpose is to take casual photos for your personal social media, then the Armor X7 Pro will do the trick, but anything more than that and you will need to look somewhere else.

Other details and utilities

There’s a lot to say about this phone. From its unique set of apps to its thick rubber encasing. But, for the sake of brevity, I’ll just go through some of the features that I have noticed more in its daily usage.

Custom button

After using Motorola -and it’s amazing gestures- for years, I was afraid I would have too much of a hard time getting used to another brand. Luckily the Ulefone Armor X7 Pro comes with a custom key on its left side that can be programmed to do up to three different tasks. I have it set just to two: opening the camera and the flashlight. Simple, but incredibly useful.

NFC

A surprising number of middle-range phones lack this feature. But not the Armor X7 Pro, and I’m incredibly grateful for it.

Headphone Jack lids

In order to withstand an hour under 1.2 meters of water, the phone is completely sealed off. That includes the headphone jack, the charger plug, and the sim tray, which are all protected by thick rubber lids. Unfortunately, said lids are difficult to open without the dedicated tool Ulefone includes in the package.

This tool, while useful, is rather small and prone to getting lost. I have resorted to knives, forks, screwdrivers, and other such tools to open them, including my own nails (which I do not recommend).

Sadly, on a couple of occasions where my nails were trimmed and I had nothing pointy with me, I could open the headphone jack at all and resigned myself to just listening to the surroundings.

Though I understand the importance of this protection, I wish Ulefone had thought about some way of opening these lids without that tool. Or maybe even a way to carry it in the phone itself without fear of losing it.

Speakers

Oh my god are they loud! I really haven’t used my wireless speakers since I have this phone. Of course, it doesn’t have the same quality or sound level, but it’s more than enough for most situations.

Why I recommend the Ulefone Armor X7 Pro

Simply put, this is a phone for people that don’t want to worry at all about their phones. Which isn’t a new concept at all. The market for minimalist phones is growing as people realize that some device’s specs are so good they end up getting into the way of life.

And, while the Armor X7 Pro probably wasn’t designed with this in mind, it achieves it in an awesome and unique way.

First of all, its specs are good enough for the vast majority of tasks people normally need their phones to perform, while at the same time not being so appealing that they demand your constant attention.

Use it normally and you’ll have no problems, use it intensely and its shortcomings will start to annoy you. It might not be ideal, but it’s a great way to reduce your screen time (at least when you don’t have to write a review about it).

On the other hand, its ridiculous resistance to water, falls, pressure, and temperature, makes it so I don’t have to worry about breaking the thing. I’m not a particularly clumsy person, but I have been known to break a phone or two, so this is important to me.

Now, with the Armor X7 Pro, I just leave my phone anywhere, with almost no worries about its safety. If it can go through the 29 tests needed to get the MIL-STD-810G certification, It can withstand a fall while I’m riding my bike, the playful (and sticky) hands of my nephews, or having a pint of beer accidentally poured over it on a Friday night.

As long as it doesn’t get stolen, it will probably be with me for however long I want it to.

And I got all of this for just over a 100 euros on eBay -you can get it cheaper in Banggood, if you are willing to wait a bit longer. Really, I don’t think theres another phone that can deliver all of this by that price.

Technology I Use in College

Note: This blog post is just an overview of the technology I use in college rather than an actual buying guide. Since most of my tech is a little outdated, I have included links to the current models instead. It is worth noting that Smith does have multiple computer labs. Additionally, if you are looking for financial assistance for buying a computer, click here.

Before I get into my main devices (spoiler a laptop and a tablet), I will briefly cover the other tech I use. First of all, my phone is the Pixel 3a. Phones are by no means essential in college. I would definitely recommend investing in a solid laptop over a phone. That said, phones do come in handy for texting classmates for group projects. I personally mostly use my phone for listening to audiobooks, podcasts, and music. My phone is also my alarm system and I use the camera for taking pictures for this blog. Speaking of audio consumption, headphones are really useful to have in college. Even if you don’t have a roommate, your floormates will thank you for having headphones. My headphones are the amazing but totally overpriced Bose QC IIs. Lastly, I also like to read on my 3rd generation Kindle Paperwhite (2015).

Tablet:

In class, my primary device is my iPad. I have the 6th generation iPad (2018) and the 1st generation Apple pencil. This combination is fantastic for taking notes. I also use my iPad for reading and annotating various pdf documents. OneNote is my favorite note-taking app since it is free and works smoothly across all devices. I love having an iPad because it allows me to significantly cut down on the amount of paper I use. While my iPad and Apple pencil have been an incredible investment, it is worth noting that the system doesn’t work for everyone. I know others who reverted to taking paper notes in the spring semester. In terms of personal use, I also use my iPad to keep in touch with my family via FaceTime and for practicing the guitar with the Ultimate Guitar app.

Laptop:

As much as I love my iPad, given my majors, I find that a laptop is essential. So if I had to choose one device, I would have to choose my laptop. My laptop is the Dell XPS 13 (2015). I got this laptop 4 years ago the summer before my sophomore year in high school. Prior to getting this laptop, I used a school-issued Chromebook. Chromebooks work well for basic internet use and word processing, but they can’t handle most programming. Having a laptop is also useful for the keyboard. If I weren’t an engineering and computer science double major, I could perhaps get away with just my iPad and an external keyboard. However, for programming, effectively writing equations in Google Docs, and using spreadsheets, an iPad just doesn’t do the trick. Since I hate trackpads, a wireless mouse is an essential laptop accessory.

Should I Buy AirPods?

Yes. If you’re already at the point of considering AirPods, you really can’t go wrong. Even if you use an Android phone, I recommend AirPods as some of the best truly wireless earphones, though you do miss out on some of the convenient features. Obviously not everyone can stomach the price, but if they’re within your budget, I can’t recommend them enough. If you’re used to traditional wired earphones, you won’t miss the cord at all. In fact, you’ll find it hard to go back.

The biggest downside of wireless headphones and earphones in the past has been how finicky the Bluetooth connection can be. You would have to go into the settings on your phone, find Bluetooth settings, connect to your headphones, and then pray to the technology gods that the connection sticks. With AirPods, you simply open the case near your iPhone or iPad and within a second or two a popup on your device will ask if you want to connect. That’s it. After the first time, you won’t even have to interact with the popup. They’ll just connect to your device automatically. The one minor complaint I have is that it’s not quite so seamless if you want to use AirPods with multiple devices. Although even in this case, it’s simpler than traditional Bluetooth because you can open Control Center (swipe down from the top right of your device) and connect by tapping the AirPlay icon in the media control section.

You probably won’t lose them like you think. A major complaint people often have before using AirPods is that they’ll easily fall out of your ears. Yes, they are very small and light, but this really isn’t as big of a deal as you might expect. In my experience, they stuck in my ears much better than I thought they would. I think it’s actually more likely that you lose them by misplacing them as a result of being so small than them actually falling out of your ears. Even if you’re someone that has wired earphones yanked out very easily, you’ll be surprised by the difference losing the wires has on keeping the buds stable in your ear.

The battery life is great, even in such a beautiful little package. If it’s something you’re worried about, AirPods are definitely not another device you have to charge everyday. You’ll get at least a few hours out of the buds themselves and then the case acts as a charger that’ll give you a handful of recharges. Even if you do run out of battery in the buds before putting them away, just 15 minutes in the case will get you another few hours of listening time.

The audio quality is fine enough for most people. I consider myself to be an audiophile (I’m a nerd who appreciates the sound quality of expensive headphones) and to be honest, I was disappointed with AirPods at first. They just didn’t sound good to me. I missed the detail and clarity in my music that was provided by my normal over-ear headphones. But that’s just it–don’t expect AirPods to sound as good as just about any over-ear headphones over $75 or so. However, if you’re used to Apple’s prepackaged earbuds or other affordable buds, you’ll be happy with how AirPods sound and you might even thing they sound better.

Should you spend extra for the wireless charging case? That one is really a personal decision about how much you value that specific feature. Personally, I love just throwing my devices on a wireless charging mat so it was worth the extra cash for me. I think there’s a good chance the decision will come down to how you charge your phone. If you’re someone who plugs in a cord, you probably won’t spend up, but if you’re someone used to the convenience of charging your phone wirelessly, you’ll probably spring for that feature with AirPods.

The bottom line is AirPods are great, and if you’re an iPhone user, chances are you’ll love them. The convenience alone is worth the price of admission. They’re sort of a throwback product for Apple. For years, Macs and iPhones worked in a way that made other devices feel far less polished. It’s no secret Apple hasn’t been able to wow people for at least a few years, but AirPods just work in a way we came to expect of new Apple products in years past.

Caveats:

Some people may find AirPods uncomfortable. Unlike some earbuds that come with differently sized tips to fit a wide range of ears, AirPods can’t be adjusted. A good rule of thumb is if regular Apple earbuds are comfortable for you, AirPods will be too. They’re pretty much the same shape.

While Apple very recently released the second iteration of AirPods, there are rumors of a third iteration being released toward the end of 2019. Whether or not that’s true is up in the air, but you may want to hold off if the rumored health tracking features sound appealing to you.

Apple is also rumored to be releasing wireless over-ear headphones. If you’re considering AirPods purely for the convenience but prefer the over-ear form factor, you might want to wait to see if more information comes out on these. However, the existing rumors are shakier than the third AirPods iteration rumors.

The noise cancellation feature is made available due to the processor called QN1. It is a magical processor by means of which you can adjust the allowable amount of noise from your surroundings. The different modes, having several setting levels in each, give you flexibility whether you want to let your surroundings disturb you or not, as discussed earlier. It means you are not supposed to take off your head phones if you want to participate in quick conversation or if you want to listen to the necessary sounds around you. You can make adjustments accordingly and thus can have the fun of uninterrupted music.

Atmospheric pressure optimization

At higher altitudes (in flight) the air pressure is generally lower than the usual. But WH-1000XM3 provides atmospheric pressure optimization thereby provides quality sound so that you do not have to compromise even in flight or at any hill station.

Sound Control

There are two ways to control the sound. One is hardware control and second one is application control.

Hardware control: It includes the buttons provided on the head cups to do different setting. On right ear cup you can find buttons to play or pause the song. You can swipe up or down to adjust volume and swipe left or right to change the song.

Sometimes it is difficult to do the same since you have worn it and you are not able to guess the exact place where the buttons are positioned.

Comfortable Headband and Head Cup Design

The head band is designed so nicely that the clamping pressure becomes conducive to the head shape which is generally different person to person.

The head cups are designed in such a manner that the ear canals feel less pressure and thus even after a long time you would not feel pain which is the case with some of the headphones generally.

The only disadvantage of this model is the long charging time. But all the headphones have the same problem. However, you can use it for long hours once charged which facility may or may not be provided by other headphones.

In short, ignoring the last disadvantage since it is common in many, I would say to have WH-1000XM3 is worth. If you are fed up of the conventional headphones available in market then you should go for this. You should never attempt to lose more than 1% of your bodyweight per week.

5 Things You Should Know About Food Tracking:

Audiobooks are a great way to make your cardio sessions more enjoyable and they promote personal growth.

Audiobooks provide the same benefits as reading, improved: vocabulary, writing, reading comprehension, emotional intelligence, and grammar.
