So yeah Ace Attorney Xenoblade Chronicles X AU based on the first trilogy. Nothing as serious as my other AUs; just wanted to draw the gang in funny frilly lawyer outfits. Made Phoenix be Yelv because 1. it’s funny to imagine Yelv as a lawyer and 2. There’s some dialogue of Elma being Yelv’s mentor previously in the game.

Anyways I’m going to go back into working on this and my three other AUs lolololol

Idea dumping again, and this one's AUing things up. Heading into XC3 during main story canon times.

Simple enough AU in theory. Swapping out the main Ouroboros cast for a gang of the heroes who seem to have suitable pair vibes; I'm sure someone's gonna have done exactly these characters in the past, tbh. But hoping to put a different spin on their journey around Aionios, especially now Future Redeemed's been a thing.

Ashera and Teach; Valdi and Alexandria; Zeon and Juniper. Let's go.

The first bit of AU shuffling here; the gang in question are not all commanders. In fact, it's possible that only Juniper is, or one other with them. This likely leads to a scenario where some Consuls in charge of various things are different, too; for example, Q isn't putting Valdi in charge of things to Do Levnises Good. N and M are still things, and I'm not planning on reallocating the letters E, T, L or S... (We need Triton around, c'mon. Though come to think of it, the S here might not be anyone we know. And quite possibly C and J ditto.)

The Kevesi trio are based out of one Colony, which might not be any of the canon ones (Ashera is a little tricky to place here but hey, we can fiddle with the concepts later). Teach and Alexandria, similarly, come from one Colony; possibly he was assigned to Iota following That Thing Oleg Did With Chi on the principle he'll be able to keep Alexandria from getting too big for her boots? Juniper is, however, still working out of Tau to begin with.

The group first get dragged into Ouroboros-hood via a mission in the Pentelas region; similarly to canon, the two sides are trying to retrieve an 'odd ether signature'. Juniper and a contingent from Tau are called in to help the Agnians navigate the Maktha area, while the Kevesi are more having to go it alone.

Don't you just hate it when a giant monkey interrupts your artifact finding quest? Thanks, Gonzales. The group of six eventually gets trapped with the Ouroboros Stone and a Lost Numbers rep who probably isn't Guernica (Gray, maybe?); some of the more responsible folks push for an uneasy truce until the gang can get out of there. In the meantime, though... Valdi. Valdi, no. Don't poke at the glowy object.

And the plot starts... whether or not a wild ride is involved. (Likely there's a Moebius to beat up on soon enough, but who it is I'm not sure.)

The new Ouroboros have an advantage in that they have more pieces of the puzzle as to who and what Moebius are, even starting off, than the canon group did. (Not sure at what stage they can identify them as Consuls, mind, even with Ashera's memory.) Unfortunately, the team are lacking in both a Lucky Seven- (Noah and Mio are... Uh. At a different stage in the cycle, right now :( ) and a Riku to try and keep an eye on whatever the heck they're doing. They do encounter four out of the original six as their own heroes, as well as various other familiar faces. However, they need other ways to try and free or improve things for their still-Clocked allies.

Teach and Ashera provide a lot of the big picture plotting and planning, even when Ashera does fall back into '... we stab things?' as part of that plot quite a lot. They're an unstable pair, but they at least balance out each other's bad habits into functionality when they settle into their positions.

Valdi and Alex tend towards 'it's so crazy it might work', with Valdi even putting together a cargo-mech to carry their stuff or the Stone with them. When they finally encounter Riku, the pair remind our favourite Common Nopon of Nikol and Glimmer somewhat even though they're unrelated... or perhaps they remind some City historians of their Founders? There's enough there to pull strings, at least. And maybe their plans are enough to disrupt Clock systems?

Zeon and Juniper are the most level headed of the group. Watching Juniper's Tau traditions and conventions gets them all thinking 'ok, but what if some of our stuff is equally artificial'... In the end, Juniper steps into the party offseer role; they might prefer to bury those who've been lost, but it would be worse to not do anything for the fallen at all. ... Sadly, this means Zeon himself doesn't get to farm any spuds. He finds City culture and history very interesting, eventually.

A different adventure, a different group, trying to avoid the classic 'let's follow the same old path' trope. And as for the long term... well, I'll see when I get there.

About the AU

Nothing ever happened... Aionios never came to be, Origin was never created, the worlds never collided... just nothing. Sounds boring, huh? Well how am I supposed to do stuff where Mr. Monado and Mr. Three-Wives interact with their families if the ghostly weights of Aionios is in their minds? This AU is literally just for comfort reasons and I'm ok with anyone using these ideas.

Plot Changes

The XC3 ouroboros kids still exist...... but the gang is kinda split in two groups and those groups don't know eachother...

Rex and his gang are basically the peace-keepers of Elysium, they are split into seperate groups and they watch over different sections of Elysium to make sure nobody's trying to start any wars

Shulk was elected to be Colony 9's representative and military commander. He didn't ask for this, but everyone said he deserved it for pretty much saving the world from Zanza, but he still has time to be at home with his family

Changes that deserve to be mentioned seperately

There are a few changes I made that I feel like shouldn't be merged with the changes above. For instance:

Taion, Mio, and Sena are friends, but they live in entirely different reigons so they only ever visit eachother when their parents travel

Noah, Lanz, Eunie, and Joran (yep, I didn't forget about him) are all friends, they all live in Colony 9

Glimmer lives with her moms, dad, and siblings in Fonsett Village

Nikol lives in Colony 9 with his mom and dad, and he likes visiting his uncle

Ruby is sick getting sick of Jaune constantly getting new weapon people instead of a simple gun. It got to the point where she brought Prof. Goodwitch with her, Jaune, Pyra, and Pyrrha to the con just to keep them on track. While chaperoning the group they end up at the same stand and while she’s able to keep Jaune from acquiring another Blade; Glynda ends up gaining one herself, much to Ruby’s growing frustration.

Ruby: Professor Goodwitch, why? You were supposed to be the responsible one...

Goodwitch: It never hurts to have additional support, Ms. Rose.

Brighid: Your professor is right, Miss Rose. You should listen to her.

Goodwitch: Thank you, Brighid.

My dude is as skinny as a cheese string

Anyways wow!!! 2 for 1 deal today!!! I felt like if I didn't post Doug and Lao relatively together, I'd get struck down by lightning or something ^^

I liked to think Lao has even longer hair than he does canonically cuz he has given up trying to deal with it. I stuck with giving him a sleek type hair cuz it's probably greasy eUGH. That's def why he tied it, cuz imagine being slapped with it lol

Do not ask what happened to his tie, he does not know as well and frankly does not care.

Had him wear his uniform shirt unbuttoned since he's a rebel and that's kinda the trope in anime. As well, he usually is wearing some random shirt and changes it every couple of days.

My fav part is def his non-uniform jacket he always wear. Unfortunate you cannot see the back design, but it does have a Pathfinder logo :)))) I added some elements of his canon fit to make it semi-inspired.

He got piercings!!! But only simple ones :> You can't even see his right ear so no one notices most of the time.

Notes:

-Doug is one of two people who can convince him to go to school. The other is Lin, but Lao only sees her by chance. Students have seen Doug nagging Lao on his phone, or literally dragging him into class.

-He's all edgy not because wife and kid died (Chenshi would not even exist in this AU), but because he's a hormonal teen who feels like he knows everything. So an edgy idiot.

-Elma and Lao are not on good terms with one another. Elma feels upset with him all the time since she feels he can def excell (See little sketch of angry Elma up there for context). But Lao doesn't bother most of the time if as long as he passes his classes.

-Despite him not caring, I still feel like he gets somewhat good grades. He atleast gets enough good test marks to make Elma raise her eyebrows.

-Yuppers Charmaine exists, but she's in a different school (idk if it would be too tropey to have her school and the [Blade Academy/XCX school idk the name] to be rivals). People are kinda surprised that Lao fell for her since she seems aesthetically the opposite of him (Bubbly, charming, sweet). But I'd like to characterise her with a "You can't fool me" vibe to explain how she is able to wrangle Lao. She def does not put up with any bullshit, and Lao is kinda charmed by that.

-I'm still thinking what sport/physical activity he should do outside of school. It would be silly if he did Kyudo (Japanese archery) plus it would def be so cool to draw him with a bow!!! I know Kyudo clubs exist in some schools, but I imagine Lao didn't join since he likes doing it as his OWN activity.

-In that silly trio friend group I mentioned, Lao is the enabler of the stupid shenanigans the guys get into. Or more of the catalyst I'd think. Like he would go try to jump the school gate, Doug tries to stop him, Frye joins in, and somehow they all got stuck up on the roof of the school building

Translation notes:

Left: Lao secretly reading some stuff on his phone with the caption "Checking his phone in class" and Doug behind him saying "Psst. Dude do your test!".
