AAAAAAA ok hear me out again PLEASE SHSGDHJ
Part 2
Me brain imagining reader being yanqing’s mom… like 200 years younger than jing yuan (i guess) and this is how the found family trope starts to take turn ✨ Mara struck and abominations of Yaoshi ruined the peace held within the alchemy commission, the lively hustle and bustle of healers and vendors were suddenly cut short by the chaos caused by the monsters who did nothing else than to cause harm and wreak havoc.
As the people of the Luofu ran for safety to save themselves... you, a single mother who only wanted to buy vitamins and herbs for your baby boy, got cornered by the abominations of abundance.
Holding your toddler in your arms, you tried to shield him from the fire and hush his cries to atleast bring him a feeling of protection and safety. Slowly stepping back, you hit the wall and coughed as the smoke began to fill your lungs. You tried to cover baby Yanqing's nose but were getting weaker by the minute, the smoke almost suffocating you.
When you collapsed as you sat down, still holding him, Yanqing's cries grew louder as he tried to protect you from the monsters with his wooden toy sword (awwh 😭)
Suddenly a slash of a weapon was heard and the abominations collapsed on the ground. Relieved that you and your little boy would be saved, you tried to thank your savior as you peered through your half-lidded eyes.
Huge stature, fluffy white hair, golden eyes brighter than the sun... you fainted, only hearing the sounds of Yanqing asking the man for help and the said man trying to wake you up as you passed out.
When you wake up in an unfamiliar room and immediately sat up when you remembered Yanqing, but due to your poor condition, you ended up coughing.
"now now, take it easy"
you looked at the source of the voice and saw the general, standing by the door still holding the knob as he seemed like he was just about to enter the room.
"g-general? what's... wait, where is-" as if on cue, a certain little blonde haired boy who was hiding behind the general's legs, peeked to look at you and his eyes lit up once he saw you were awake.
"mommy!" your sweet boy ran towards you and hopped on the bed to embrace you.
you immediately checked him for any injuries or burns when the general interrupted your thoughts.
"the little man is safe, I can assure you that. I had him checked by the healers for any other health issues, thankfully he's alright and unscathed. looks like you were the only one who was in need of help" his golden eyes stares at you as you sighed in relief.
"thank the aeons..." you breathed and patted the top of Yanqing's head, smiling so beautifully. Jing Yuan found the glow of motherhood in you so beautiful and endearing that he found himself interested, chuckling at the sight of you doting on Yanqing.
As you heard his chuckles, you pulled out of your thoughts and remembered that the general is in fact inside the room... in who know's room... with you and your child...
You soon became conscious of your actions when your brain finally registered his presence so you turned your gaze to meet his, but eventually wandered as you couldn't bear to hold your gaze.
"thank you... for taking care of my son" you shyly mumble a little thanks
he laughs as he noticed the change, "relax, you've been quite through a lot maam". his gaze still bore on you, "may I ask for your name?"
you slowly look up to meet his gaze, "y/n... general"
"y/n huh..."
unbeknownst to the both of you, while you and the general were exchanging words and staring at each other's eyes, Yanqing was quietly watching it all unfold... his eyes alternately looking at you and the general in confusion, and made an unbelievable conclusion... right in front of the general so boldly.
"...are you gonna kiss?"
"Yanqing!" you sputtered
should I make a part 2 of this? hmm...

Injuries pt2
Description:you come back from your travels injured, how do they react?
Warnings:injuries obviously but its vague
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Blade
He was seriously trying to have a calm and nice night, but then you walked in,all injured
"Where were you?"pauses and eyes you up and down"what happened?who did that?"
He sighs, gets up and carries you to your bed and then goes to get medicine and bandages
He swears to himself he is not panicking,if someone where to say he's panicking right now he'd deny it until his dying breath and in the afterlife, but the way he rummages through the medicine cabinets and searches for bandages says a different story
Truly, his actions betray his words,he says he's all calm but just look at the way his movements seem agitated, brows just a tad furrowed together, you'd have to squint so hard to actually see it on his face
But once he's got you all patched you better expect a lecture, but it doesnt sound like a lecture if you dont know him,if you didnt know anything about him at all it'd just sound as if he was listing off all of the things you did wrong that got you into this situation, but you know thats his way of telling you that you werent careful enough and giving advice
If you cant walk or move around much while your injuries heal he'll drop by your room during meal times with food and eat together with you and then leave,if you ask him nicely maybe he'll stay to keep you company, but otherwise dont expect him to stick around too long
But if you can walk and move around well,no you cant if he considers your injuries to be too grave, then you are staying in bed whether you have the ability to move or not,no questions asked
Once you're all healed up even if you wont see it Blade becomes overprotective,as i said you wont be seeing it since it'll be very subtle things, you'd have to pick up the hints off the floor
Overall 7/10 because you'll be confined to your bed and he wont have any idea of how to keep you company, plus the sass
Jing Yuan
He was worried the moment he realized you were late
"Where were you?"pauses and looks at you"Forget it lets just get you a doctor"
He doesnt even let you respond before he swoops you up bridal style and brings you to a doctor
Once the doctor is done patching you up he takes you back home, and lays you in bed, obviously he's not panicked or alarmed, just stressed about your state
Why didnt you call him? How did this happen? Why wasnt he there?
Nethier way he'll brush all that aside to take care of you
If you have to be bedridden he'll be at your beck and call until your injuries are fully healed, keeping you entertained with stories, jokes, mindless talks and even board games
If you can move around and dont have to stay in bed then great, you're still not moving too much, because he's carrying you almost everywhere due to the fact that he's worried over you physical condition
Once you're all recovered he'll have a serious talk with you about your safety and how you can rely on him
9/10 only because of the way he's blame himself for what happened to you
Gepard
He was happy to finally use what little time he had to spend with you,but then you walked in
"Huh?! Love what happened?!"
He'd rush to your side and carry you to lay down, and despite being initially alarmed he calms down and gets his priorities in order and gets you to a doctor
After you're all patched up he'll carry you back home and do whatever he can to help you. He sees silvermane guards get injured due to monsters almost daily so he's used to injuries, but even so,seeing his partner injured like this still worries him to no end
And he wont try to hide his worries about you
He's an experienced and strong silvermane guard, heck he"s even the head of the silvermane guards, why didnt you take him along with you? He could've prevented this, the situation definetly frustrates him and he's not afraid to show it
If you cant move around much and have to stay in bed he becomes your personal butler when he's around, bringing you food, doing chores and doing his best to keep you entertained and healing
And during times when he's on duty and cant be near you he'll ask his sister for help
If you arent bedridden then you have full mama bear Gepard because, oh boy the overprotectiveness that you never knew he had comes out
You want to cook by yourself? Oh no way is he letting you on your own,he's coming to help and he'll do most of it. You want to take a walk? Sure but you only get to walk for a bit before he's carrying you
Overall 10/10,do i need to explain?
Yanqing
He was so excited for you to come back,he was basically beaming knowing you were on your way
"Ah you're finally back!"he pauses and takes a good look at you"Huh?! Are you alright?! Come lets get you to a doctor!"
Initially he'll be panicked, very, until after the doctor is done bandaging your wounds and everything, thats when he finally relaxes after he's been pacing around like a headless chicken
And you better expect a full blown lecture, dont even think you can escape this lecture through any ways
As much as he loves you,he worried so much and still is seeing you in such a state,of course he'll be scolding you about not taking care of yourself and about being reckless
When he's finally calmed down he'll be placing his arms on your bedside and place his head onto his crossed arms right at the edge of your bed and just talk to you,he'll even play with your hand while talking to you, playing with your hand and vice versa or holding hands calms him down so
If you have to be bedridden then prepare for a full alert mode Yanqing because this man right here has your whole entire treatement memorized by heart if you have one(changing bandages, medicine for the wounds, pain killers, etc.),and since he has to leave the house due to his duties he'll leave everything prepared in a way that gives you easy acces to food, board games, books, snacks, anything you'd need
If you dont have to stay in bed then great,he'll get you to move around with him hoping it'll make your wounds better,of course he wont push you beyond your limit but still,he'll also be extra careful with you asking you quite often how you're feeling and if you're alright
9/10 only because he'd be so stressed and worried over you
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

WHAT WAS YOUR first thought when Serval told you that you should date Blade?
“This is hilarious, I should go show it to him,” would be the correct answer. Now were you still scared shitless of him? Yes of course, but now you have an actual reason to talk to him — you’re own entertainment, instead of you shamelessly plugging your friends music.
Looking around the studio for him, you immediately spot him leaning against the wall staring blankly at his phone. It wasn’t like he was hard to spot, he was 6’2 (188cm) after all.
Brushing past your coworkers and stepping over chords and past equipment you finally manage to find yourself leaning against the same wall Blade was. Taking a quick glance at him is when you’re heart starts to speed up; were you really going to do this? What if he takes it the wrong way? What if he doesn’t find you funny? What if he calls you weird?
Well, maybe the last one isn’t that horrible but since it’s Blade you would be thinking about that phrase for the next decade and then some. Pulling out your phone once again and unlocking it you muster up the courage to speak and interrupt the light silence between the two of you.
“Hey dude, Serval said that we should date,” you bluntly say, taking a side glance at the man next to you. Blade seemed to have stiffened up at your words and looked at you unblinking.
“Why’d she say that?”
“What do you mean by that?”
“Like, why me? What was the reason?”
“Clout.”
He let out a small chuckle at your words which made your shoulders finally relax at the notion that he found what you said funny. “Was that it?”
“Yeah, what other reason should you go out with someone?” you reply jokingly.
“Less than two-hundred followers? Ew,” Blade sarcastically remarks to which you laugh at as he ran his hand through his hair.
“Wow you haven’t had a single sponsor within the last 6 months?” you fake an annoying tone along with the idol in front of you, “That’s like, really, embarrassing.”
“Shameful.”
A comforting silence overtakes the both of once more before you go back to the previous topic at hand, “Well Serval had originally said I should go out with Jing Yuan but according to her you had more clout.” You shrugged your shoulders as his eyes widen slightly.
“Let me see.”
Unlocking your phone, you pull up twitter in search for her tweet. As you pull the tweet up Blade tilts his head downwards to see Serval’s reply and scoffs lightheartedly, “That shits funny.”
You smile at his words and nod. Soon enough you begin to walk away from Blade as you both wave to each other, “Maybe his resting bitch face isn’t too intimidating.”
As soon as you’re out of his line of sight Blade immediately opens the groupchat but then sees a notification pop up and instinctively presses it. His eyes narrow as he looks across the room to see Tingyun grinning mischievously to which he rolls his eyes as she runs away.

Windy Day
With Yanqing (fluff/comfort & reverse-comfort)
Reader is Tingyun’s pupil, Yanqing and Jing Yuan have father-son dynamics, author hates windy days and projects that here
Cw) abandonment issues if you squint, yanqing wonders about his parents, so do you, mild cursing, mild angst, charms are meant to be pins in this
A/n) not so proud of how this turned out, please ignore this hot mess of a plot and focus on the fluff
Tumblr media
If you asked Yanqing if he considered General Jing Yuan to be a father figure, he’d deny it profusely. He’d go on and on about how the General only took him in, give him shelter, and teach him swordsmanship. That he was still the General and not his father.
Of course, anyone with two eyes and clear eyesight would laugh at his embarrassed denial.
Even if he didn’t consider the General to be a ‘father figure’, he sought guidance and validation from him regularly enough to at least consider him a mentor. Yanqing acknowledged it. Jing Yuan acknowledged it. And of course, you acknowledged it.
He was a Cloud Knight, a lieutenant of the Cloud Knights nonetheless. He had a meal to come home to everyday, shelter, an allowance, and people around him that supported him. What more could the boy possibly want?
It seemed to go over the peoples’ heads that Yanqing isn’t familiar with his birth parents whatsoever.
On the other hand, everyone on the Luofu knew you were orphaned at a young age. You didn’t make it your whole personality, but you never tried to hide it. The elders admired your courage, skipping over the fact it wasn’t exactly courage.
What was there to be done about it? Sure, you didn’t know your parents. Parental love is the first love any child gets to experience, and you didn’t get that experience. But they’re already gone. What’s the point in chasing after someone that was never there?
It wasn’t courage, it was honesty.
And Yanqing wishes he could trade his courage for your honesty.
He knew you from Jing Yuan, though technically Tingyun. He was merely seven years old when he first saw you. You were standing behind Tingyun while clutching onto her clothes, he remembers this memory it like it was yesterday.
“Yanqing, there’s two people I’d like for you to meet today.” Jing Yuan stood over the short kid, trying to grab his attention away from the small swords he was gifted.
“Yes, General!” He practically jumped up, swords still in hand.
“Now, one of them is your age. So please, try to get along with them. You don’t have many friends outside of the Cloud Knights, and they’re all twice your age. This might be good for you.”
The General was right, Yanqing really didn’t have that many friends, none were even his age. But he was never interested in making friends, it was only swords.
“…I’ll try, General. When will they be arriving?”
“Right now, so you better get going.”
“What!?”
He remembered the General making him drop all his swords to get to the meeting on time. At the time, he was quite annoyed. But as he grew up over the years, that annoyance turned into gratitude.
Yanqing might have been an entirely different person if he never made a friend his age.
“This is the child I wanted you to meet. Yanqing, this is (Name).” The General guided the young boy’s arm out to shake the other’s hand.
You averted your eyes away from the two males in front of you, unsure of whether or not it was safe to let go of your mentor.
She seemed to have noticed your hesitance, and gave you a gentle push to extend your hand out as well.
“Oh yes, this is marvelous for little (Name) here. They certainly need more social interactions.” The fox lady known as Tingyun giggled as she watched you awkwardly shake the blonde boy’s hand.
“It’s a… pleasure to meet you. Um, Yan, was it?”
“That’s not my name! It’s Yanqing! Yan-qing!”
“Oops.” You mumbled unapologetically.
All Jing Yuan and Tingyun could do was watch the interaction play out as they discussed business between the commissions.
With your awkwardness, and Yanqing’s eccentricity, it took some time for you two to get on the same page. While you wanted to stay away from work for some time, Yanqing was always pulling you out of your room so you’d be doing something rather than nothing.
It was annoying at first, but it became routine with time.
Although, there was always a question you wanted to ask him. He wished to ask you the same question at some point, but avoided it for your sake.
That was until a windy day came along.
Wind was nothing unusual on the Luofu. Being up in the sky, far above and in the clouds, wind was completely normal weather.
For some reason, today was windier than others.
With wind came a chill, making many Luofu residents forget the sun was out. Of course it was bearable, but it wasn’t what anyone was used to.
You weren’t any exception to the chill of the wind. In fact, you felt victimized by the wind on this peculiar day. It was in your face, making you squint from the uncomfortable feeling. Your hair was flying everywhere, clothes waving around like crazy, and you were starting to catch a cold from the chill.
It was horrible.
You wanted nothing more than to finish your errands and return home.
But work is work, and duties are duties.
You groaned in frustration at the realization. You’ll be stuck in this cold wind for hours if you don’t pick up the pace, and your annoyance was only slowing you down more. But you couldn’t help it! No one likes wind that’s this severe.
You didn’t even wanna know what you looked like right now, you were sure your hair looked like a bird’s nest.
‘I can fix it later, though…’ you think to yourself. For now you had to stay optimistic, you’ll be home in no time if you move faster!
“Oh hey, is that (Name) over there?” A familiar high pitched voice said. It wasn’t far away, but it was far enough for you to just barley make out what the boy said.
“Oh… Yanqing. It’s you.” You tried to make it clear you were annoyed in hopes to get him to move along. Unfortunately, Yanqing never leaves unless he wants to.
“Aren’t you glad to see me! Nice weather today, right?” He laughed sarcastically. He could tell you weren’t happy with today’s weather just by appearance.
You only stared at him, just hoping he’d get the hint and get back to his day.
He stared back, refusing to back down.
Today was not a good day to get into a staring contest, you were already feeling your eyes drying up. As much as you didn’t want to forfeit…
You blinked. “Listen, I’m pretty busy here. It would be very much appreciated if you could let me get back to my work.” You waved your hand in another attempt to bid farewell.
“Oh yeah, you look pretty busy. Look at allll those files and papers in your hand.” He said sarcastically. You weren’t carrying a thing.
“Oh shut up, blondie.”
As if on cue, another strong gust of wind passed you by. And it was strong.
Even Yanqing furrowed his brows slightly at the gust, who moments prior seemed unaffected by ‘heinous’ weather. Meanwhile…
You put a whole hand over your face, furrowing your brows and hitching your breath. Aeons, will today get any worse than this?
The lieutenant realized just how frustrated you were, and bit his tongue to prevent anything teasing from coming out. Tingyun knew you hated this sort of weather, why would she send you out on a day like this? He shook his head a bit.
“You know, I don’t think Tingyun would mind if you held your tasks off for tomorrow. She’d understand, right?”
You pondered his question, wondering how much trouble you’d get in if you did something like that. Would you get in any trouble at all?
You always finished work on time, one overdue task won’t hurt, right?
“I suppose…” you muttered reluctantly.
Yanqing’s eyes somehow lit up more than they were seconds again. “That’s great! Okay, come with me!”
He tugged on your wrist, guiding you to another part of the Luofu. Where he was taking you? Neither of you really knew.
Many turns were taken, both of you regularly checking signs to make sure you weren’t lost. You’re wrist felt warner than the rest of your body, you’d almost forgot Yanqing was still holding onto it.
“Ah, here we are!” He exclaimed, finally finding some sort of destination.
“This is…?” You’re eyes wandered to where his eyes were locked, which was some random stall on the side of the street.
“A charm shop, I’ve been looking for it everywhere!” Before you could say anything, he pulled you along with him to the vendor.
It was small, no wonder it took some time to find it. It didn’t stick out much despite the colorful charms laid across the counter and in the back. There was a wide array of accessories, and honestly, you didn’t know what kind of business Yanqing of all people wanted with them.
“Hi! Do you have any charms that look like swords, or are swords?” Of course that’s what he asks for.
“Oh my, yes of course we do;” the old lady at the vendor eyed both you and Yanqing before continuing. “I’m assuming you’d like matching ones for you and your significant other here?” She asked.
You choked on your spit, Yanqing only blushed slightly at the assumption.
“It’s not like that. Not like that at all.” You denied, stopping a furious blush from creeping up ok your cheeks.
“But we would still like matching ones!” Yanqing finished.
“Yanqing!? What the hell?”
“Shh, it’s on me!” He said as if that was your concern.
“Two matching sword charms, coming right up.” The elderly woman said warmly.
“You can’t be serious, Yanqing.” You were alnost scolding him for doing this. Were matching charms really necessary?
“But I am (Name). Come on, you know you want one!”
“…sure.”
A minute or so passed before the lady came back with a single tiny bag, holding both yours and Yanqing’s charms inside.
“There you two go, enjoy.” She smiled, Yanqing paid her more than the initial price generously.
Once you were in a more secluded place, he opened up the bag, finally letting go of your wrist.
The sudden lack of warmth made you shiver slightly, but it was nothing compared to earlier. You eyed the boy in front of you as he furrowed his brows in concentration, clipping his charm onto his collar.
“There we go. Want me to do yours?” He asked sweetly. He was so sweet, it made you feel sick.
Because why else would you feel butterflies in your stomach if you weren’t also feeling sick?
“Go ahead, just don’t mess up my collar. It’s the only part of my clothes the wind didn’t rag up.”
You were embarrassed by his gradual closeness, especially while you still looked like a mess. At least, in your head you did.
His tongue poked out slightly out the corner of his mouth, clipping the charm into the collar of your shirt. Your breath unhitched the moment he pulled away, you didn’t realize he was that close until you saw the distance he returned to.
“So… (Name), that’s not the only reason I wanted to hang out with you. There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you for sometime now…” he took a pause, checking your facial features to be sure he could continue.
“Do you ever, like… I don’t know, wonder where your parents went?” He asked slowly, averting his eyes away from yours.
You were initially shocked that he was asking, he never asked personal questions. Then again, the one he asked was one you got asked quite regularly. You always responded with this same phrase;
“Sometimes, why do you ask?”
He looked at you again, looking away just as quickly. He knew you didn’t mind too much, but it was still treading into personal territory. Not just for you, but him as well now.
“I always wanted to know where my parents went after they left me. But it never felt like I was allowed to ask. After all, the General raised me like… like a father would. Asking about my biological parents would feel like I was disrespecting him, you know?” He paused again, keeping his composure.
“I just wanted to talk to someone… someone who understood.” He finished, finally making eye contact with you again.
This time, you were the one averting your eyes.
You took a breath, “I wonder where mine went every now and then. But no matter how much I wonder, it wont change the fact they aren’t around. I can see where you’re coming from about the General… I never asked Lady Tingyun about my parents because it felt… rude. I know it’s not rude deep down, which is why I think it’s my subconscious trying to protect me from finding out anything I don’t want to know.”
Yanqing paid full attention, listening to every word you had to say. Even if it was a lot, his attention never faltered.
“But Yanqing… I promise you the General really does care about you. And if you were to ask about your real parents, he wouldn’t feel disrespected.” You tried reassuring him slightly, not realizing the impact you had on him.
His eyes widened a bit. He needed to hear something like that for ages. But hearing it from you of all people really gave him the satisfaction he needed.
“Yeah… you’re right! (Name), you really are the best.”
“The best? You’re just happy to hear something like that. I’m just… regular. Not ‘the best.’”
“No, you really are the best, (Name). You’re my best friend, my best companion, the best person in the divination commission, the best person on the Luofu-“
“Okay! I get it…” you put a hand over your face, trying to hide your blush, failing miserably.
“But you need to hear it!”
“Not that much!” You exclaimed back at him.
He stared at you for a moment, this time you stared back without any intention of backing down.
The wind had finally died down, there wasn’t anything stopping you from winning this time.
Yanqing blinked. He blinked before laughing to himself, giggling like a teenage girl.
You blinked looking confused, not sure what he was laughing at.
“Oh man (Name), did you know a bird has been in your hair? It really is a birds nest now!” He laughed even harder.
Your hands swatted lightly at the top of your head, fingers grazing over the bird. Of course, it flew away at that. You just weren’t sure how you didn’t notice a whole bird landed in your hair.
“This isn’t funny!”
“You’re right, it’s not funny…” his laughter died down.
“Thank you. Now, let’s get back-“
“It’s not funny, it’s hilarious!” Once again, he went into a giggling fit.
“Yanqing!”
“Sorry, sorry. I’ll stop… for now. Come on, it’s almost past my curfew! I’m gonna take you to the Cloud Knight Headquarters.”
“Seriously? I also have a curfew, you know.” You said in annoyance.
“Well if your at the headquarters, I’m sure Tingyun won’t mind.”
“Yeah but-“
“No but’s! Let’s go!”
With that, he dragged you off to the Cloud Knight Headquarters.
So many events unfolded in a single day. And with so much happening, you never got the chance to finish your work. But…
You eyed the boy next to you, his eyes practically shining as he laughed, pulling you through the crowded streets of the Luofu to headquarters. He looked so mesmerizing in the sunset light, you almost wanted to kiss him.
Almost. You almost wanted to kiss him.
Maybe you would have kissed him if the streets weren’t so busy tonight, or maybe you can kiss him before you go home.
And maybe windy days won’t be so bad with Yanqing around…
-Bonus!-
“(Name), I wanted to thank you for helping Yanqing the other day.” You heard a deep voice from behind you.
You turned around, being met with General Jing Yuan’s hologram. This wasn’t out of the ordinary, as he’d usually appear like this whenever he needed to speak to Tingyun or Yukong in the divination commission.
“Helping him? What do you mean, General?” You asked curiously, not sure what he was referring to.
“I mean reassuring him about his parents, and how he can ask me anything. He’s seemed much more at ease since me and him talked, and he said it was all thanks to you.” You swore you saw a small smirk form on the General’s face at that last remark.
“Oh… well it was no problem! I was just helping someone dear to me out.” You waved your hands in front of your face in hopes to cover your rising blush.
“If that’s the case, I’m sure Yanqing won’t mind helping someone dear to him out in return. Come on by whenever you’d like, (Name). Please, actually. The boy won’t stop talking about you.” His hologram dispersed before you could respond, leaving you in shock.
You felt sure now that Yanqing would love to hear you’ve been chatting Tingyun’s ear off about him as well.

Characters: Yanqing x Gender-Neutral Reader
Synopsis: Reader that's one of Fu Xuan's Disciples
Warnings: Fluff and Spelling mistakes

𝒴𝒶𝓃𝓆𝒾𝓃𝑔
You and Yanqing decide to date in secret since if master Fu Xuan finds out that you're dating one of the Jing Yuan disciples, she would usually be fine if it wasn't one of the Jing Yuan disciples, but good thing she doesn’t know about it...yet...
You both tried to hide from Jing Yuan, yet he catches on pretty quickly since it’s quite obvious after all. Every time your training is done, you go to Yanqing and wait for his training to be done, and you both hang out with each other. It was anything but a secret by the way you two acted around each other.
Now don't be afraid that Jing Yuan won’t tell any of this to Fu Xuan; after all, young love is truly an adorable sight to see. But when Fu Xuan found out, everything broke loose, and she was losing her mind about it and took herself back home that instant.
Well, in the end, she accepted it since she knew you'd find a way to secretly meet up anyway, so why not just give you permission? But Jing Yuan did need to convince her; after all, how could she stop love?

Mirror Image AU (1)
Read R -> L
Introducing an AU that’s been sitting for ages in my brain where their powers happened to manifest into “another them”.
Yanqing has Qingyan and Misha has Ahsim (it’s literally just their names flipped cause I’m so creative lol.)

FOUND FAMILY TROPE
⇀ tags ; fem!reader, developing relationships, found family, reader is yanqing's mom, jing yuan being a bit emo, slight angst, fluff, happy endings!
⇀ note: here's part 2, sorry it took a while sdjhfjh
part 1
jing yuan never liked the quiet, but he doesn't hate it as well.
sometimes, to him, it's peaceful. the gentle rays of sunlight slowly making its home in his abode, the gentle rustle of the wind, curtains fluttering from the gentle breeze, and the chirping of those tiny little finches that seemingly found comfort in his windows.
but sometimes, it's unsettling. his abode is far too huge for his liking. far too big that despite his huge stature... it makes him feel so small. the quiet seems to haunt him, its silence deafening. The halls are way too quiet, every nook and cranny - every room he barely used...
he was never used to the quiet, never ever got used to it. to jingyuan, the silence was a hard pill to swallow - one that haunted him, one that enables the lonely thoughts and regrets he has in his head. to him, it's a terrifying gamble. one that he doesn't risk, and a risk he doesn't want to take.
yet, he doesn't like the noise either. not when the screams and cries of his people fills the air, not when his friends mourn for their lost friend, not when the final verdict was placed, and not when their hatred and vengeance spoke louder that it drowned the voices of their joyful laughter.
not when chingzu scolds him for the nth time for setting his duties aside, not when fu xuan complains about his sleepiness, and not when another trouble arises in the luofu.
but then suddenly... the noise doesn't seem to be as unbearable as before. when he met you, as cheesy as it sounds.
"yanqing! don't run too fast!" you scolded as yanqing continued to run away from you, laughing and giggling as he played in the general's garden. you sighed in defeat and placed your hands on your waist.
the general chuckled, "it's fine y/n, let the little man play to his heart's content. I don't mind at all"
"you spoil him a bit too much, general. i'm afraid he'll get more and more demanding" you let out a small laugh.
the quiet was slowly filled with noise, ones that came from you and your son... ones that echoed through his oh so empty halls, ones that vibrated through his walls, ones that filled his abode with the color of your tone, ones that replaced the seemingly monochromatic energy of his own home... and ones that he always looked forward to hear in the mornings, afternoons, and nights.
the way you and yanqing would greet him with a sweet "good morning, general!" was something that brought warmth and comfort to his lonely heart. something that gives him peace as you began to serve breakfast on the table with yanqing helping you set up the table...
the way you would sing your lullabies to lull your son to sleep, the way you would hum as you cook in the kitchen, the way you would read yanqing bed time stories, and the way you keep him entertained with your company by telling random stories and tales about yourself...
these are the moments and memories he forever wants to keep - ones that he never intends to sacrifice. one that he will forever engrave and etch on his heart and mind, body and soul.
but then suddenly, the silence doesn't seem to be as unbearable as before. as he watches you and yanqing sleep.
the corner of his lips twitched upwards and turned into a warm smile as he observes the mother and son duo sleeping about in the garden without a single care in the world. your forms are relaxed, the children's book in your hand slipping out of your grasp, your arms wrapped around yanqing as he sleeps on your chest, and the soft snores you both let out wasn't something he was able to miss.
and suddenly, jing yuan hated to not hear the quiet.
"general, you've done enough for me and yanqing throughout my whole recovery. i'm truly grateful for your kindness and care, which is why I think it would be best not to further burden you anymore with our situation as I have recovered” you said with an almost disappointed and apologetic smile, and jing yuan froze in place.
“I already told you, I don’t mind at all as long as you have fully recovered. that would be the only favor I ask of you in return” he said, trying to convince you while trying to mask his desperation
“you’re too kind general, truly. I can’t thank you enough for letting us stay just because of my son’s insistence and tantrums…”
jing yuan could have left you both to the care of the healers of the alchemy commission after he had rescued you and yanqing… but the little man’s cries of fear and worry over his mother made it hard for him to leave. so he held him close, and chose to look after him until you wake up because yanqing who found comfort in the general’s presence - doesn’t want to part with him.
jing yuan could have agreed without any hesitation to your offer, he could have allowed for you to leave his home… but he got so used of your presence that it made it hard for him to agree. those moments where he feels himself truly relax in his abode, the fact that he have someone to come home to… for him to keep on bearing the burden and weight on his shoulders, for everything to be much more bearable than before…
he couldn’t bear coming home to an empty house anymore, where only silence and noise greets him in mockery.
and suddenly, jing yuan hated to silence the noise
as you filled the empty rooms and spaces in his abode, leaving your mark on every corner of his home… driving away the silence that haunts him as he hears your skittering and humming in the kitchen while making dinner, as you read your bedtime stories to your son, as you sing while taking your sweet time in the shower…
for once, jing yuan felt fear.
for once, he lets himself be selfish.
“…I plan to take yanqing as my apprentice” your jaw drops.
“g-general? what are you- that’s too much to ask of you!” you exclaimed.
“the little man wants to become a cloud knight does he not? I don’t see the problem with that” he said with his familiar smug and relaxed demeanor.
“but yanqing has not made any feats worthy of him being your apprentice! general, I ask you to please reconsider”
“I disagree, I see great potential in him and I have no doubts he will reach great heights and perform great feats… I only wish to nurture his talent at a young age” he stepped towards you.
“there are plenty of spare rooms for us to make use of… and I don’t mind you using them. so fret not.”
maybe, this is his way of asking you both to stay. as you look in his eyes, he looks at you with such gentleness… desperation… and longing. for once, the general looked truly lonely, but he couldn’t be anymore sincere of his feelings.
and maybe, just maybe… you might give in to his wishes too.
sksjdh finally complete, sorry it took so long 😭 I don’t know if I did well in writing part 2 but this is the best that my brain could think of 🥹
should I do a part 3 as well??
