Montresor is the Bad Ending of White Raven
So Montresor has a religious trauma. And from what little we know of the flashback to his death, the man was apparently a corrupt preacher.
What that tells me about his life made me crack my knuckles, because holy shit, this guy is an even better villain than I expected. And not for the reasons I thought at first.
Montresor's possible backstory
A fun fact: "unholy men" used to be called "sons of Belial". Same as Monty's Spectre type, so there's the initial connection, but with what we saw in chapter 87, this phrase from his mother resonates quite a bit:
Tumblr media
Montresor was most likely a bastard (literally), and if he was raised in a religious community, that immediately made him and his mother outcasts. Possibly his mother hated him for "ruining her life". Whether this is true or not, the implication is that he grew up a victim of a system that decided he was sucked by the devil from birth.
Tumblr media
In this light, Montresor's attitude towards the world is actually a logical consequence: he has decided that abuse is the only way to relate, and you can either be the victim or the victimizer. Of course, he is now the victimizer.
But he decided that because life taught him two lessons that were important enough to make him the person he is now.
"I know this game better than anybody"
We know from the clothes and hat in his flashback, and the cross around his neck, that Montresor was a preacher. And I would venture to say an excellent one: he has heard all his life that he is a demon, he knows better than anyone what terror hell produces in people, so he knows exactly what to say (or not say) to manipulate others through that fear.
Montresor, like Annabel, is someone who exploits his own traumas.
Annabel has been almost conditioned to behave like the perfect high-society lady, and that includes going to impressive extremes if it means getting something in return. She has engineered her way through life by identifying the currency of the people around her and knowing exactly what to give them so that they will, in her words "kissing her rings".
Tumblr media
Loyalty gained through fear vs. loyalty gained through pretended sympathy.
Same goal.
If the world has made them that way, both Annabel and Montresor will use every last footnote of knowledge gained through trauma to get what they want.
But then there's something else they have in common: this deep knowledge of the rules of the game has also made them both know that the odds are too stacked against them to ever win. In the past, we've seen Annabel throw in the towel on her arranged marriage, but Montresor took a different path, much more along the lines of…
"So I'm not afraid to cheat."
Montresor decided that if people wanted a demon. He would give them one. The worst demon of all, because this one knows the rules: he knows how to play the game, he knows how to cheat and get away with it. We don't know the extent of his atrocities, but given what happened in the flashback and the fact that his idea of a sleepover is stuffing someone behind a wall to slowly suffocate, this guy must have a long rap sheet.
So long, in fact, that he was tied to the tracks of a train to be torn to shreds without even a trial.
Because if the rules are just there to screw you, then screw them: the only option left is to cheat.
Which is exactly what Lenore did when she burned down her house and pretended to be a man to go after Annabel. Lenore jeopardized everything Annabel said was important to her.
Tumblr media
And she got away with it. At least until they were both killed (or, if those of us with our chips on Annabel's childhood friend, they may have both died without anyone knowing).
Now, in Nevermore, Lenore is still doing that, as we can see in her reluctance to kill or destroy Montresor: she refuses to play the game, refuses to follow the rules.
She will look for ways to cheat here, as she did before (something Annabel actually expects her to do). The woman is too stubborn to bend, and so far she seems to have the wind at her back (the question is, for how long?).
The bad ending
These elements make Montresor a complete exhibition of the ultimate consequences of taking Annabel and Lenore's attitudes to the extreme: a person who instrumentalizes her own traumas to unravel and try to inflict them on others, and who is not afraid to cheat for her own benefit if it means getting what she wants.
The only thing that separates Annabel and Lenore from Montresor is that they both still use these attitudes in the name of other people: Annabel for Lenore herself, and Lenore for the people she cares about. That both of them (still) seem to have their hearts in the right place.
But if Annabel continues to use her vast knowledge of this twisted game to work her way through people without caring, and Lenore still believes she's above all rules, here's Montresor to show them (and us) what's waiting for them at the end of the road.

Can you do a virgin f!reader x Xavier where he teaches her everything and teases her for being so turned on and stuff?

a/n: thank u for the requests!! <3 this is not edited!

Tumblr media
it was an evening after school and you had been settling into your dorm before having to meet xavier to help him with his homework.
it was his idea, he had texted you earlier that day during class that simply read, “meet me at the library after school.”
you occasionally helped him with his homework when he didn’t pay attention in class, since he was always spending his time drawing instead.
if it were anyone else that asked you, you probably would’ve said no, but for some reason you couldn’t help but have some sort of soft spot for xavier - something you’ve felt ever since you transferred to nevermore.
other than that, he didn’t hang around you often. almost felt like he was avoiding you at times. however you didn’t think much of it though since you were mostly too busy with school and your friends anyway.
when you arrived at the library just minutes before 6, you walked down searching through the bookshelves, when you finally found xavier sitting by himself in one of the corners. he was all the way in the back of the room looking down at his phone. of course he wasn’t doing his work.
"nice homework you're doing there"
he quickly dropped his phone down and instinctively grabbed his pen to look like he had been working, although his work was completely untouched in front of him. "i was eventually gonna get to it. but that’s why you’re here now!" he replied with a cocky smile.
you sat down on the chair right beside his and placed your bag and stuff down onto the table.
"so where should we get started first? i was thinking you should probably start with mrs thornhill’s class." you asked as you opened up your notes.
xavier was fidgeting with a pen as he got overwhelmed by the amount of papers you had; pushing his hair back behind his ears as he let out a nervous laugh, "wow getting right to it huh?"
"well mr thorpe, if you'd like to graduate i would have started a long time ago." you teased, not being able to control it as a cheeky smile came across your face as you handed him a pencil.
his body slouched over the desk. his hand holding up his head as he watched you flip through the notes, talking him through the work but he was just too focused to hear a single word you were saying, as he could just focus on how you made cute faces when you were concentrated
you snapped your fingers in his face - which got him out of his zone. "i'm not repeating this again, you need to pay attention."
he liked seeing this rare side of you. both of his hands raised up quickly while furrowing his eyebrows, "okay okay yes ma'am, i'm paying attention."
you rolled your eyes while your hand jokingly smacked his raised up hands back down, "oh shut up.”
“if you get through this and finish it, you can do anything you want - but only after you're done."
"anything hm?" a smirk came over his lips as he looked at you. his sage eyes looked you up and down as you noticed him stop for a moment, then raise his eyes back up to connect with yours.
your cheeks instantly turned red from the way his voice rang into your ears. it cause you to get nervous and turn back around to the homework in front of you.
xavier bit at his lip from your reaction, he liked making you nervous. especially how exciting it was that you guys were in public.
"anyways so.." you continued, trying your best to get back on track with his homework. he on the other hand had other plans as he trailed off again, losing his complete attention once again.
his hand lingered under the desk as you suddenly felt his fingers against your leg slightly. your eyes widened as you attempted your best to stay concentrated on the work in front of you and not the warm fingers going down your leg.
there was one thing on his mind and it sure as hell wasn't the pieces of paper in front of you both.
you reached down your leg and grabbed his hand and moved it off of you. “xavier.” you said with a stern tone in your voice, trying to act calm.
his eyes looked at you with fake innocence, pretending to look confused.
you weren't getting very far with this, you knew you wouldn't be able to get him to finish this if his life depended on it.
his large hand suddenly was placed over your much smaller one on the table, as he lightly grabbed the pencil out of your hand and guided your attention to him, "follow me i have a better idea. " his voice was gentle.
you didn’t bother to argue as both of you got up out of your seats, confusion filling your face as he held your hand - leading you into a very dim lit room in the back of the library.
xavier walked towards you after shutting the door as your body slowly leaned against the wall.
"xavier what are you doin-" he placed his finger over your mouth, causing you to stop mid sentence. his face was just inches away from yours as you began to feel your heart beating as if it were going to jump right out of your chest.
his lips were just ghosting over yours as he slightly opened to say something but stopped. his chest going up and down as his breath gets heavier.
your eyes look at him with concern as you wonder what he’s thinking in that head of his. your voice breaks the silence in the silent room.
“i thought you invited me to the library to work on your homework”
he shook his head slightly to the left and let out a chuckle, realizing you must have never gotten the hint. “y/n… i just didn’t know how else to ask you out”
he continued, “and technically i never said anything about homework in that text.” licking his lips while smiling at you.
your eyes blinked. his confession was so sudden and unexpected as it left you speechless.
"sorry if this made shit weird. it's okay if you don't feel the same." "i just couldn't hold it in anymore." his eyes softened, gazing down at you.
you finally found your voice, looking down at the ground to your feet. "i really like you too. and i want to do things with you, it's just-" you paused.
his eyes were furrowed as he looked at you waiting on what you'd say next. his hand cupped around your face as he lifted your head gently for you to look up at him.
"i'm a virgin xavier.. i don't know what i'm doing." you replied, embarrassed as you couldn't even meet his eyes. your voice was soft and quiet as his shoulders relaxed and looked at you with a gentle smile.
his lips hovered right over yours, lightly letting out a sigh. "don't worry about that love, i can show you."
your mouth slightly opened in front of his as you were desperate for his lips to connect with yours. moving closer as he slowly teased you and moved back slowly so you were unable to attach with yours.
“always so eager with you…” he teased.
it was clear that he was enjoying seeing you get edged so bad.
"please" you begged him - wanting to feel his hands all over you, as one of them continued to rest on your cheek and the other against the wall behind you.
his hand slid down to your neck to have more control as your lips were just dying to touch.
you faintly took notice of the smell of paint on his clothing as it brushed against your body.
finally he couldn't tease you any longer when he pulled your face in and placed his soft lips onto yours. your bodies were pressed to the wall. it became more heated as your mouth slightly opened for his tongue to lock with yours.
the unoccupied hand against the wall made its way down to your skirt. placing his hand right over the fabric of your clothing. “is this okay?” he asked
“yes. please i want it to be you”
“if you ever want to stop just let me know.” he reassured to you as you brushed your fingers through his hair while he quickly goes back in to have your lips on his again.
he slowly moved his head from your lips to your neck, slowly kissing all the way down as it causes you to let out a moan. the gentle feeling of his lips against your neck was driving you wild.
you still had a hold of his hair and unintentionally grabbed it rougher causing xavier to let out a groan in your neck. making his way swiftly down your body. he loved the feeling of your hands in his hair.
it only gave him more serotonin.
he found himself down between your legs, as you stood there above him looking down at his soft, yet hungry eyes.
his warm hands made his way under your skirt as he lightly brushed his fingers over your wet spot. “somebodies excited to see me”
he gave you one more look before he went down and placed his face right into your sweet spot. feeling his nose lightly skim over had you dripping.
the large hand moved aside your panties as you towered over him - running your hands through his soft hair.
suddenly feeling the warmth and wetness of xavier’s tongue as he passionately ate you out as you struggled not to make too much noise. moans escaping your mouth.
feeling his hands go straight up to touch your body. not slowing down until he made you come.
you had never felt such a good sensation come over you as he moved faster, tasting every bit of you.
“f-fuck i’m gonna cum”
his pace continued to speed up as he could feel you getting close. he let out groans into your core as he enjoyed you.
“i-i’m gonna-“ your grip onto his hair became stronger as you clenched your whole body and released all over him.
he got up, wiping his mouth with his hand as he looked at you in aw. “you did so good love.”
a/n: i kinda don’t know how i feel about this - still trying to get used to writing stuff like this so bare with me!

Lovesick - W.A.
Wednesday Addams x Fem!Reader
Summary: You and Wednesday are polar opposites. Do they really attract?
Word Count: 1.6k
A/N: Request from ages ago, I didn’t proofread this. Please excuse any mistakes. Happy reading! <3
Tumblr media
Wednesday had a problem.
When Wednesday had first transferred to Nevermore, and gotten the infamous Enid welcome and introduction, she couldn't have cared less about you.
"That is Bianca Barklay, the closest thing to Nevermore royalty they'll ever be."
Then Enid pointed to a girl sitting next to Bianca, staring at the bubbles in the water fountain with intrigue.
"And that, is YN. She's the school heartthrob. It's just impossible to not love her, you'll see."
"She looks like a mushroom." Wednesday replied dryly, swiftly turning on her heel and heading back to her dorm.
"She's a sweetheart. Everyone likes her. You'll find out what I mean. I'm always right!" Enid shouted out, before quickly catching up and walking side by side with the goth.
Enid had warned that this would happen. God, how was Enid right?
Wednesday's frown only grew deeper as she thought back to the moments you've shared over the past year.
-
"Hey, you must be Wednesday right? New girl?"
All you got in return was a curt nod.
"Allllright, I get it, you don't wanna talk. Trust me I get it, I was so silent the first week here, some people thought I was mute!"
Silence.
You frown a bit but redirect your focus to the teacher emerging from the door.
-
"Enid I do not understand why I have to suffer not only with you, but her. I was content just sitting down in the dorm and practicing my cello."
The werewolf had recently gotten three free passes to Jericho, and decided to drag both you and Wednesday out for a cup of coffee.
"I hate to agree with her Enid, but I really have a lot of biology homework to do." You mused from behind, still sore from fencing class you had that day.
"Oh come on! It's good for you two to bond. My two besties, we're gonna be so cool together!" Enid makes an excited sound, "We should come up with a group name!"
When Wednesday quips back that she'd rather die in a long long torturous death (which she'd probably enjoy) instead of have a group name, you can't help but snort in agreement.
You shoot Wednesday a look, small smile playing on your lips.
-
Ever since that first day at Jericho, Enid had you guys connected by the hip. Unwillingly.
But as the days went on, Wednesday found out you weren't so bad.
She was particularly late to lunch today, catching up with updates on the hyde case.
In fact, she was debating skipping lunch all together. But as she glanced over to the pentagon, a hand shot up along with a shout.
"Wednesday! Over here!" You were waving your hand wildly, gesturing for her to walk over.
Wednesday bit back a sigh as she moved towards you, and to her surprise, there was one empty seat opposite of you, plate full, apple on the side.
"I got some lunch for you. Oh and a plain granola bar, I see you always like eating them." You tell her absentmindedly, munching on a sloppy joe.
Wednesday hesitates, before saying a quiet thank you.
"It's my pleasure Wends. So, how's the hyde case going?"
You both don't mention the fact you used a nickname to address her. She sighs, she supposed it was nice of you to get her lunch, so she tells you about the case.
"It's going well YN, I've just had a breakthrough......"
-
"Come on Wends, pleaseee? I really really really wanna go to The Weathervane."
You stare at Wednesday with your famous puppy eyes, and see Wednesday's glare soften just the slightest bit.
"I....suppose we can go in a few hours. After I've finished my writing hour, I have hyde business to do there anyway." She says, even though she'd already taken care of the issue already.
"Could you help me study for midterms? I do not understand anything for the life of me." You whine and throw the book back on her bed. Flopping onto the soft fabric dramatically.
"Bring it with you to the Weathervane." Wednesday says sharply, and returns back to her typewriter.
-
"Sucky Birthday to you Wednesday! Come, follow me." You squeal excitedly, reaching for the goth and pulling her by the wrist.
Physical touch has come sort of, natural to you with Wednesday. You were a naturally touchy person anyway, but when you were around Wednesday everything felt very...heightened.
Hm, I wonder what that is.
Wednesday was constantly complaining about your intense need to be touching her at all times, but she never actually pulled away when you did; and you're well aware she could if she wanted to.
"Where are we going?" She asks, tone somewhat annoyed.
You turn to her and smile; so bright Wednesday swears light shone through your teeth.
"Grave digging!"
Wednesday's eyebrows twitches in amusement, a small but noticeable movement. You've become sort of professional in her mannerisms over the past few months.
"I knew you'd like it. Come on." You say, practically sprinting to your destination. It's not a smart move, and you stumble over your own feet; arms still connected with Wednesday's.
You fall flat on your back into the soft grass, Wednesday on top of you.
She looks so good, the moonlight shining on her face. You steal a glance at her lips.
She's staring at you with wide eyes, arms on both sides of your face. Her braids frame your head a little.
She coughs awkwardly, then gets up and looks the other way.
You follow suit, trying to calm down your racing heart.
"Ooookay. Let's- let's get grave digging now." You say finally, watch as Wednesday walks toward you but avoids your eye.
She's grateful it's dark out, or else you would've seen the red coating her ears. And when you reach for her wrist she pulls back, afraid you'll be able to feel her racing heart.
-
It's parent's day. The long awaited dreadful day where Wednesday has to talk to her parents.
They'll be able to tell right away, she has no doubt. She's lovesick.
They’d see right through her. They're like magic love wizards in that way.
"You ready Wends?" You muse from behind her, take her hand in yours. You were currently situated in her dorm room, the two of you alone; waiting for your parents to come.
"No." She replies, but not in a sarcastic or dry way. She sounds kind of...scared.
You poke her cheek and watch as she tries and swat your hand away.
"You look a little on edge." You observe, staring at the hairs on the back of her neck.
She's a little afraid if she tells you why she's nervous for this specific meeting she'll let it slip that she might've accidentally caught feelings for you.
Ugh. Feelings.
It's come to the point where she can actually say she has feelings for you. It’s pathetic, and quite frankly sickening.
"I'm fine. Let's just get this over with." She grumbles, and bursts through the door; leaving you standing dumbly in her room.
"Wednesday, darling how have you been?" Her mother drawls, smile on her lips as she speaks.
"I've been good mother. Apart from the gigantic monster that's trying to kill me. Actually, I think I'm having lots of fun." Wednesday says, looking over her moms shoulder to spy on you.
Just a little bit.
You look lively, and happy. It makes her feel weird in her tummy.
"My little storm cloud, what are you looking at?" Her father asks, watching Wednesday with keen eyes. It wouldn't be obvious to anyone else, but Addams were very observatrice people, and he could tell straight away when Wednesday has lost focus.
He follows his daughters gaze to a certain werewolf. He has to blink one more time to make sure he's not seeing things.
“Oh," He smiles, soft. "I see what's going on."
Wednesday turns sharply, face impassive.
"You don't see anything." She says hotly. Too fast for her normal speech.
Her mom smirks, catching on quick.
"Oh sweetie, we think it's cute. Our little storm cloud is in love." They coo, leaning forward to whisper with Wednesday.
The black hair girl scoffs, and folds her arms in front of her chest.
"I am not in love. I do not know what you are talking about." She replies.
"Sure you don't." Pugley adds, peeping in between his parents.
Wednesday suddenly feels hot underneath their gaze. She gets up abruptly, tilts her face up in hopes for some high ground.
"You all annoy me. This is why I don't write to you." She says before turning on her heel and heading over to you.
You stare at her with curious eyes as she walks toward you. Stops in front of you, hands stiff like a soldier.
"Hey? Whatcha doing?" You ask, pat the seat next to you. She ignores the feeling of something fluttering in her stomach when you accidentally touch fingertips.
"I would like to stay here with you. If you do not mind. My parents are being...unreasonable." She says, picking her words carefully.
You chuckle, smile softly.
"Of course you can stay here Wednesday. Come, come meet my family."
Wednesday’s heart almost jumps out her chest. She's really not one to be scared easily, but this was easily one of the most intense moments of her life.
She usually didn't care if anyone didn't like her, but there was an underlying nagging feeling that told her this was important. Your family was an essential part of you, and if she wanted to win you over; she had to win over your family too.
"I can't wait."

ada the mirrorball/chameleon, a very vague and weird conversation on her character (ep 37-40)
Tumblr media
going to off the bat make this abundantly clear that I JUST LIKE TO TALK!! if you think anything is outrageously wrong that's ok :)
anyways, this stems from me rereading nevermore and just, with hindsight, feeling a bit silly for my first opinions on ada. when i first read nevermore, i felt this overwhelming annoyance for her, and at times definitely hated her. especially at the beginning. she was a nuisance. but, i think like many others, as i continued, i just began to feel bad for her. and on my reread, i think that's just more prominent than ever.
i'm going to just be talking about general stuff from episodes 37-40, because if i talked about anything else i could probably talk until my jaw fell off. especially about her spectre, but let know if you want any rambles about that or not!
for this, i'm very much just going to ramble and then show you little pictures of where i picked this up!
so in episode 37, which as a quick summary is when ada is talking to lenore in the bathroom which can be summarised by this webtoon comment:
Tumblr media
anyways, so as covered they have a big conversation in the bathroom where ada basically says to lenore that maybe she misjudged her and maybe they should team up/be tentative friends. it's part genuine from what i can tell and also part manipulative. but what's interesting about the conversation in the bathroom is what ada does.
take this for example:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i have absolutely no idea why that was the first thought that poked out to me, but here we are! the more i looked at it, the more i thought it was odd.
at first, i thought of it like a teen girl desperate to make friends, the same urge you get to sit beside your friend and just paint each others nails and the yearn for the closeness of a friendship where you swap clothes and stuff. girlhood and sisterhood. you know, that stuff.
but then i thought about it a bit more (and you know, could be reading a bit too much into this so excuse me if i am) and i thought about what we know about ada. obviously, this doesn't come in these episodes, but later in the series we're shown (i think) that ada fell in love with a rich man basically, and was murdered by him (i think!! correct me if i am wrong !!!) and we know she wasn't of the same class as him, something we become even more aware of in the next few episodes.
anyways, i thought about it, and then i thought about lenore and then i was like "oh is this something to do with class" and after reading too much into it i can conclude IT DOES HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH CLASS!
i think, if we look into it, ada's conversation could also suggest that ada wants to be lenore– not in the emo sad lesbian who's divorced sense but more she wants to have the life lenore has and wants the attention. i think ada sees lenore and maybe thinks subconsciously about the way she speaks and walks and assumes she's of high social standing. and since we're aware she isn't (especially with the way she says certain fancy words wrong) i think ada latches onto this and in the act of asking for trading blazers, i think she essentially is saying she wants the respect and status lenore has.
because what's one thing we definitely know about ada? she wants to be loved, she basically admits this to lenore as well in this episode.
Tumblr media
and we already see lenore and annabel's little back and forth and the fact that people "flock" to lenore. so, i dunno guys, maybe this is ada saying she wants that? she wants that respect and she wants to be adored, loved and seen. but as herself, she doesn't get it.
again, me looking too closely into it.
but i dunno, there's something to be said about this whole scene in itself and the things ada does.
Tumblr media
like here she's curling her hair with her fingers, something annabel literally does all the time. in that way, she tries to use people the same way annabel does, or what we see annabel do later. she curls her hair, tries to act all coy and tries to act like what she knows lenore is susceptible to. she does it i think not totally out of malice, but a place of insecurity because she wants to gain validation from her own little group. but it's funny because, even in this act, ada still fails to embody annabel. a wolf in sheep's clothing is still a wolf, and ada is still ada even if she desperately tries to act like somebody else.
then there's also the dinner scene in episode 38. we know that each of their meals is based on what they would've wanted as their last meal. and what's ada's?
Tumblr media
beluga caviar and champagne. both items that are absolutely rooted in the upper class. beluga caviar, fun fact, is also the most expensive type of caviar! ada's whole meal is a need and a want to be like the upper class and the obscenely large bowl of caviar just shows it. also, this whole scene (i think) is our first hint that ada isn't as, i dunno, posh (?) as she claims she is. of course, that's if you ignore when she doesn't pronounce things right.
then, if you look to episode 39, you kind of see more of ada's character and how she acts.
Tumblr media
here you see ada only pipes in when she's gotten confirmation that there's something behind it. ada is the type to stand behind anything so long as she has support– something so deeply rooted in her insecurities. take this and then take the fact girl barks like a dog in ep 40 into account, and you see something so overwhelmingly sad about her character. rereading this just made me pity ada even more.
i think, as a side note, i see a lot of people in webtoon comments and then some on tumblr make connections to morella and ada being similar, almost like two sides of the coin. and to an extent i agree with that. i think the different lies how in how they react to montresor in this episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you see here that morella practically pleads with montresor to stop, but ada just blindly listens. she becomes, almost, a bit pathetic here. and also, sidenote, i cannot reread this episode with having to put my phone down and take a lap because this baffles me every single time. but i read it because wow yummy artstyle. ANYWAY.
you see ada truly desperate here. desperate to be loved, desperate to be accepted, desperate to be finally seen as somebody who has worth and value and desperate to be adored by them all and most of all: to be seen by annabel as a worthy friend or pawn, whichever she can get.
i think this is truly heartbreaking when you read it, because ada just wants to be loved and she'll do anything for it. i think in that way, morella and her differ. because morella is completely different to ada in the fact that even if she wants to make friends and to please people, she has a level of respect for herself and an overwhelming sense of empathy which trumps any insecurity. ada is the complete opposite in that aspect. her need to be loved and her insecurities trump her morals and her decision making skills.
and idk, i think there's something so sad about humiliating yourself and knowing you are humiliating yourself just so you can get somebody to notice you. i think it's just so fucking sad, and i can't look at ada and think she deserves to be hated anymore.
she might be a brat, but guys she's a brat with trauma and crippling insecurities and i think in some twisted way i love her.
anyways yeah, that's the end of my ramble!

GUT WRENCHING ANGST with ajax please thank uu
anything you ask, darling! @bwitch3d asked for something similar, so i made just one! thanks for the request. this one is a little long, but i hope u guys like it <33
ajax petropolus x fem!reader — forbidden lovers; angst + fluff at the end
NO MATTER THE CONSEQUENCES
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You remember exactly how your first year at Nevermore was. Traumatic. You were excited to make friends, since you felt extremely lonely at home. You were an only child and your parents never gave you enough attention. So you wanted to have friends that you could play with. Things that children normally want.
You met wolves, vampires, mermaids and gorgons - a species your parents despised. Although, you wanted to befriend each one of them.
Ajax Petropolus, a gorgon, gave you a huge smile and asked you to sit next to him in your first class. “Is this your first day here?” the boy's thin voice made you crack a smile.
“Yeah! How about you?” the boy nodded and you both spent the whole year together. Having fun, studying together. He became your first and best friend on Nevermore and you made a lot of other friends - but where you were, Ajax was and where Ajax was, you were.
When the holidays arrived, you were dying for your families to meet so you could spend the holidays together, but when your mothers saw each other, it was a disaster.
“You!” the two spoke at the same time. You and Aj looked at each other confused. They already knew each other and it seemed like it hadn't been a good interaction.
“What I said about gorgons, y/n! We despise them” your mother said and you felt the blood rush to your head.
“But mom-“ you tried to speak but Ajax's mom cut you off.
“You two are forbidden to talk-“
“Oh dear, let me give orders to my daughter, you should take care of this boy” your mother interrupted. How could they do this to you?
“Let’s go, Aj” the boy looked at you with no sparkle in his eyes. You could tell he was devastated. And you were too. You could feel your heart being shattered into a thousand pieces.
On vacation, obviously you weren't going to give up on Ajax’s friendship, so you sent him secret letters every day - since your mother had confiscated your cell phone. But he didn't answered.
You thought it might be his mom who wouldn't let him send letters, so when your classes started again, you tried to talk to him.
The boy was in the library, reading a book very concentrated. “We can't do this” he whispered without looking at you. He looked around, like he was embarrassed that someone would see you talking with him.
“Come on, Aj! You gotta be kidding” you nudged him, trying to make the boy laugh.
“I'm serious” he looked into your eyes in a way that broke your heart. It couldn't be true. “You need to get out of here, I'm busy.”
You stood there for a few moments and left. Not even noticing that a few tears were falling from your eye. Your first friend in Nevermore already hated you and haven’t done anything.
In class, Ajax talked to everyone normally, but he refused to look at your face. The rarely looks that he gave you were filled with sadness. He got close to Enid and Xavier - he spoke to them the way he spoke to you and it made your heart break even more.
Even though time passed, every vacation you had, you tried to find out what happened between your families, but you haven’t found anything.
“Mom, but forbidding me to talk to Ajax is surreal! Why so much hate between you and his family?” you insisted on every family dinner.
“Still not over it, y/n? Have you fallen in love with a gorgon?” your mother teased you.
“Of course not!” she smiled satisfied by your answer and it drove you crazy. “But what if I were, what would you do?” your mother gave you a death glare.
“Is this boy trying to make contact with you?”
“No, because you forbade us to talk!” you snapped.
“Honey, if he cared about your friendship, he would’ve gone after you...which didn’t happened.” the woman said like she was deathly sorry for you. If you could, you would leave your house and never come back again.
“You disgraced my life in Nevermore.” you leave the table.
“I think she needs a therapist” you heard your father whisper across the table.
But this year you swore it would be different. As much as you hated to admit it, your mother was right. If Ajax still wanted to be your friend he would at least smile at you. So the best thing you could do for your mental health was to give up trying to find a reason for your ‘breakup’ and enjoy the year in Nevermore.
And so you did, you met a funny girl - Wednesday Addams - she barely smiled, didn't even show much affection, but she shared her thoughts and theories about the monster that was in town with you.
“I think you're the only decent person after Enid in this school” she affirmed and you took it as the best compliment you had ever received in your life.
You also started seeing a boy. His name was Ryan - he was tall, brunette, dark skinned. He was handsome and fun. You were missing so bad to laugh with someone that it turned into something bigger.
“I think we should date, like boyfriend and girlfriend thing” Ryan whispered to you one day while you were studying in the library. Your hand sweated and your heart raced. You felt like you were more scared than excited.
You felt that the boy was strange today, his legs were always shaking. He seemed distant and you didn't want to disturb him. Thought it was a problem with his grades - but now you realized that it could be the nervousness of asking you to be his girlfriend.
“W-what?” you stuttered, not knowing if it was true or not. You thought you didn’t matched in that way, he was nothing like you. “Are you serious?” the boy just smiled but you felt like it wasn’t a honest gesture.
"Great, girlfriend! We're dating now" he yelled for the entire library to hear. Some applauded, others asked for silence and you still didn't know how to react. What just happened here?
The next day, the news had already spread throughout the school. Even Weems came to talk to you. “Congratulations on your relationship, y/n! But I don't want to see him go to your room at night!” she laughed. “I remember my teenage days like it was yesterday.” she threw a wink in your direction and walked away.
But you started to feel uncomfortable when you walked down the hall and everyone started whispering and looking at you. If there was one thing you hated, it was having attention towards you. Something Ryan loved.
“Are you alright?” Enid asked you as soon as you sat in your seat to start class.
“Apart from all those stares, I am” you flashed a smile at her and the girl put a hand on your arm.
“If you need anything I'm here, I ended up not posting this gossip on my blog, but that's because we're friends and I would hate to make you uncomfortable” she said making you confused.
“Thanks… I guess” you whispered the last sentence as soon as Tornhill entered the class
Your gaze met Ajax's who was staring at you as if you had just beaten him in a fencing duel, he was sad and nervous. This minimal interaction had been the only one in years. Your heart sped up and you hated the feeling.
At break, you spotted your boyfriend who was laughing with his friends. When they saw you, the boys moved away and Ryan looked a little nervous. He didn't even kissed you. Maybe it was because there were a lot of people around him still whispering about you.
“Everyone is talking about us!” you whispered to him.
“I know! And I'm so sorry, y/n! I swear it meant nothing to me.” he stammered.
“W-what?” you asked.
“Haven’t you heard?” he seemed relieved.
“Heard of what?” you murmured. Your attention turned to a murmur behind you.
“I can't believe Ryan hooked up with Barbara! I thought he and y/n were dating.”
“Not everything is as it seems, right?”
“He told me he asked Y/n to date just so she wouldn't feel so bad”
What the hell?
To be honest, you didn't feel sad that he had cheated on you, you felt embarrassed that everyone was gossiping about you the whole day and you didn’t even knew about that. You thought talking to Enid and getting the full story before you looked anyone in the face would be a great idea.
You couldn't even look at Ryan’s face again as he grabbed your arm trying to say something you weren’t able to hear. So you ran towards Enid's dorm.
You were so immersed in your own thoughts that you didn't even notice when you bumped into Ajax in the hallway, knocking over all five books the boy was holding in his hands. “I'm sorry” you murmured helping him pick it up. You thought he was going to fight you or ignore you like nothing happened - as he always did.
“You alright?” he asked still gathering some books.
“You know about it?” you asked and the boy answered you with a simple nod. You got mad at him for it. You'd rather he had just ignored you, because he didn't want to know about your life for all these years. Now that you had been 'chetead' he wanted to know how you were?
“Why do you care?” The boy swallowed hard and didn't give you any answers. You handed him the books and got back to what you really intended to do.
Enid told you that they had hooked up the day before Ryan asked you to be his girlfriend. Barbara - a girl you didn’t even know - was jealous and that's why she spread it to the whole school. “You really liked him?” the blonde asked you with a look of comfort. You knew you could trust her.
“To be honest, I don't think so. In fact, I didn't even say ‘yes’ when he asked me. I didn't disagree either... but I was in shock! I just didn't know what to do or what to say." you heard Wednesday snort and you and Enid looked over at the girl who seemed to be concentrated on her book.
“Ryan is the ugliest, dumbest person l've ever seen in my entire life!” you and Enid burst out laughing, Wednesday cracked a small smile.
“It's true, though, y/n, you deserve a person who wants to give you the world…” the blonde said holding your hands. “You and Ajax would be cute together” you felt your heart ache and tears gathered in your eye.
“Ajax and I are barely friends…” you knew that Enid was going to say something, but you chose to interrupt her. “| need to go up to my room, l'm a little tired and hungry! Thanks for everything girls, see you later.”
On the same night, when you got to your dorm, you thanked Bianca for being a girl who stayed in the library studying at midnight, so you would have free time to put your thoughts in order. As soon as you started to think about what happened in your day, all of your thoughts turned to books on the floor and a simple question. “You alright?”
You rolled over in bed trying to think about your boyfriend... ex boyfriend or whatever! And you were stressed for not being able to feel even an ounce of sadness for the cheating. In fact, you didn't even know if you could call it cheating, because it was supposed to be something sad and coming from someone you loved, but you didn't love Ryan.
So your thoughts - these were treacherous indeed - went back to every moment of your childhood that you spent next to Ajax. And how your separation hurt. That was a real feeling, someone you loved couldn’t be with you. And you hated him for not fighting for your friendship.
You hated him for every look he threw your way. Hated it when he didn't look. Hated that he talked with Enid the same way he did with you. You hated yourself for still having such strong feelings for him that you couldn't get over even after all these years.
The tears finally ran down your cheeks, and they became uncontrollable, you started sobbing. It was suffocating. You wanted to scream, you wanted to smack something, but all you did was lie in bed and try to sleep.
When you started to stop crying and feel sleep coming on, someone knocked on your door. “Who is it?” you screamed from your bed. Sometimes it could just be a prank that freshmen girls did, or it could be Bianca who forgot her key.
“It's me.” Ajax. Your heart went into your mouth. You couldn't open the door, your face was red and swollen from crying.
“What do you want?” you asked, getting up from the bed and heading towards the door.
“I just want to talk, okay?” he said quietly. Ok, you would have to open the door, it would be very impolite if you didn't.
You ran to the bathroom and washed your face hoping it wasn't so obvious that you had been crying all night because of him. He would think it was because of Ryan, though.
When you opened the door, you felt your heart beat even faster. He was gorgeous it actually hurts. He carried a box of chocolate in his hand, the box you shared when you were kids. You also noticed that his eyes were black and his nose was bleeding.
You didn’t say a word, you went to your bathroom to clean him.
“Are you crying?” he asked as soon as he entered your dorm.
“I was trying to sleep” you dodged the question.
“I didn't know that trying to sleep you needed to cry” he opened a sarcastic smile, but you remained serious. You weren't going to talk to him like you'd been friends forever. You started to clean the boy’s nose.
“What happened here?” you asked softly, and the boy looked at your eyes and you already knew the answer. He was fighting with Ryan.
“Sorry.” he whispered.
“For what exactly?” you teased and he looked at the floor.
“A lot of things” he whispered. “I don’t know where to start.”
“Ajax, I don't even know if you can explain yourself to me! You didn't want to fight for our friendship. Maybe I wasn't as important to you as you were to me-“
“That's not true and you know it” he interrupted you.
“No, I don't! How am I supposed to know if you started to despise me, you wouldn't even look at me.” you already felt your tears coming back.
“Just answer me one thing” he approached you, your heart was beating too fast. “Were you crying for Ryan?” Ouch. he touched your wound, but you wouldn't lie. You swallowed.
“No.” he closed his eyes for a few seconds, suppressing a smile, murmuring ‘good’. His croaky voice made you weak. Ajax knew he was the reason you were crying for.
“So let me explain” you walked away from him and sat on your bed, waiting for him to start. “Well, you know our moms aren't friends. And I questioned why all vacation that year.” At least it wasn't just you.
“I found a very beautiful knife in my grandfather's office, I asked him what it was and he told me that that knife should only be used to kill people of your species.” What? You started to get nervous. “He told me that a long time ago, a man of your kind had a relationship with a gorgon who was married... it turned out that they fought for their honor and the lover ended up winning... killing a gorgon.” This was looking like a book story, you were outraged. “So to this day our species hate each other.”
“But we could have fought it, that's no reason to-“
“You haven't changed at all, y/n! I'm not done yet…” you held back a laugh and he noticed, opening a shy smile. “I did something I had never done before, I argued with my family. I told you that you were the most special person I had ever known, that tradition could be broken, that we could declare peace.” he swallowed hard before starting. “But then they said that they would put people to observe us, and if anyone saw us together, they would hurt you.” he said. “And you know that Weems is a friend of my parents. Maybe you didn't realize it, but she watched us all day, if it wasn't her, it was Professor Tornhill.” Wow. “And I decided to stay away from you, to protect you, but you don't know how much it hurt me” he sat by your side and put his hand on his head. “And then I saw you with Ryan, like come on? He's an idiot!” you didn't know what to do or what to say.
You spent a few minutes with him in the same position. His nose made a noise and you knew he was crying. Shit. “I was worried that someone would say something to you that would upset you or do something to you and I wouldn't be there to protect you” he finally lifted his head and wiped away the tears. “So I didn't know what to do, if I stayed close, they would hurt you, if I stayed away, I couldn't protect you! I hate this! I hate that we've been put in this situation. I hate that there's no way out of this. But worst of all, I hate that I love you.” What? He loved you? Wow. Your hand began to sweat. Again.
“What made you change your mind?” you asked.
“I know I can't take this anymore. I can't hear your name on everyone's lips, knowing that there are people out to hurt you. I know my life would be so much easier if I wasn't in love with you. I promised to stay away from you, but I can’t. You are the bane of my existence. And I want… need to be with you, no matter the consequences.” he looked into your eyes and held your hand, you smiled, your entire body feeling warm, with a few tears falling from your eyes.
“I’m determined to leave my house if I have to. Let's create our own lives. I honestly don’t give a fuck about people say. We are destined to be together, I've never even thought that I could love someone as hard as i love you.” you walked up to him and wiped away a tear on his face.
You kissed him and it was a little wet due to crying. But it was sweet. It was desperate. You knew you love him. And you loved him so much, that it was killing you.
“I love you” he whispered against your mouth.

Pairing: Wednesday x femreader

Warnings: none
Author's note: I'm so sorry to who requested this. I accidentally deleted their request but if you're reading this, I'm sorry! :(
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you had studied for a stupid test all night long you really needed something that could get your brain working properly. Your roommate kept insisting that you should sleep, but you dismissed her worries and kept studying. You kinda regret not going to sleep.
Your head was all fuzzy and you weren’t really aware of your surroundings. Yup, that’s what no sleep does to you.
You decided to walk to the best cafe in town - one of the only ones in town. You ordered a coffee, paid, and sat down in a random booth
 Your head was swinging from side to side and eventually, you placed your head on the table in front of you. Soon, the coffee arrived and you took a big sniff before slurping half of it down. It might have burned your tongue a bit, but that was the last of your worries.
Slowly your sleepiness oozed away and when it did you fished your phone out of your pocket to scroll through Tiktok a bit.
You didn’t pay any mind to the new people who entered the cafe. Only when they stood right next to your table you looked up.
You saw 3 dudes dressed up as... whatever they had dressed up as and they didn’t look happy, at all.
You flinched slightly when one of them spoke to you, “You’re sitting in our booth, you Nevermore freak!”
You were taken aback. How do you just go up to a random person - you don’t know at all - and talk to them like that.
You stood up and were thinking about how to respond but thanks to a certain someone that wasn’t needed.
You didn’t see Wednesday enter, but that didn’t matter at the moment. She was now standing in front of you as if she was trying to hide you behind her back.
“You should leave if you wish to keep your head attached to your body.” You couldn’t see her face from behind, but you knew she was scowling at them.
“Oh yeah? I wanna see you try!” One of them replied cockily. You pulled at Wednesday’s sleeve, wordlessly asking her to leave it be.
She glanced at you for a quick second before letting out an unnoticeable sigh. She looked back at the boys, “You’re not worth our time.” Wednesday walked right through them, bumping their shoulder in the process. She pulled you along of course and made you walk in front of her.
If only that was it...
The guy that was closest to her roughly grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back. Big mistake. Wednesday turned around and uppercut him with full force. He fell backward and rubbed his now bleeding chin.
The others sprung into action and attempted to hit her, but she dodged all of their punches and took the chance to knee one of them where the sun doesn’t shine.
You watched all of this happen with concern written all over your face. Even though you knew she would never lose a fight like this, you were still worried.
The last guy standing reached his hand over to you, trying to take ahold of you. That didn’t last long though. Wednesday gripped his hand and crushed one of his fingers.
He dropped to the floor, screaming in pain while holding his injured finger. “If she wasn’t here I would have cut your finger off completely, be grateful.”
Wednesday carefully held your wrist and led you outside. Just as you left, the sheriff entered. He looked back at where the both of you just stood but you were gone.

Half Awake (Xavier Thorpe x fem!reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Admittedly, being in detention was never on your to-do list, neither was your half awake rant about Xavier's hair. But everything always happens for a reason, right?
Warnings: Some swearing but that's about all I can think of. Let me know if I should add anything.
You're telepathic and telekinetic in this. (Very original, I know 😌😂)
-------------------------------------------
"'Don't worry,' you said. 'We won't get caught,' you said. Well, looks to me like we got caught, Xavier!" You said, throwing your hands up and gesturing around.
Xavier leant back in the uncomfortable chair he found himself forced to sit on, letting a sigh escape him. "I, clearly, didn't think that through."
"Yeah, no shit Sherlock Holmes." You let out a huff of frustration, leaning forward to lay your head on the table.
The two of you- more Xavier than you- didn't think you'd get caught. The two of you had snuck out of the school on more occasions than one, sneaking through an abandoned gate at the far end of the school where no one went anymore, and never once did you two get caught.
Not until today.
Xavier supposed that he should've listened when principal Weems said that there would be no going of campus until further notice. He just didn't think that she would go to the extremes of having guards covering every inch of the school.
"You seriously didn't expect Weems to go to that extremes? Are we thinking about the same principal here?" You asked unexpectedly, startling Xavier.
"Jeez, don't do that!" Xavier said, placing a hand over his chest dramatically.
"Consider it a small amount of payback for getting us in detention."
"How many times do I have to apologize? And besides, it's not like we're in jail!"
"We might as well be!"
"Stop being so dramatic," Xavier said, getting his notebook out of his bag to work on a sketch.
"Oh, I'm being dramatic?" You said, narrowing your eyes at him.
"Wait, how were you reading my mind in the first place?"
"The bracelet fell off when we were being escorted back into the school. I couldn't exactly say anything because Weems wouldn't let us speak, remember?"
The bracelet.
It's something that you gave to him a few months into your friendship. It gave him the ability to block you from reading his mind. He never really used it at first, but he's been using it a whole lot more recently.
However, you didn't dwell on it too much.
You could see how Xavier's face lost a bit of colour. He quickly shut his notebook and opted for doing something on his phone instead.
Deciding against reading Xavier's mind again, you leaned back in your chair, closing your eyes and thinking about how you got into this situation.
Flashback
"Are you sure about this, Xavier? Weems seemed serious when she said that the school would be on lockdown," you said, nervously following him towards the 'forgotten gate' that the two of you used to sneak out of the school on multiple occasions.
"Of course I'm sure. Stop worrying so much. This is a once in a lifetime experience. Ajax and Enid are gonna meet us there," he said.
The two of you successfully reached the gate, stopping only so that Xavier could pick up the backpack he hid there earlier.
He got his phone out of his pocket to let Ajax know that the two of you were on your way, until an amused smile graced his features.
"What's so funny?" You asked, confused.
He looked up at you. "Enid somehow convinced Wednesday to tag along."
"Oh," you said, suddenly feeling out of place. Jealousy seeped through you, replacing the happiness you felt earlier. It was no secret, to you at least, that Xavier had a crush on the Addams girl, even though she made it clear that she didn't reciprocate his feelings.
Although you never really said anything, you had feelings for Xavier. He was unlike any other guy you have ever met or been with and he always treated you like you were a princess. You thought that meant he might reciprocate your feelings, but since Wednesday came to Nevermore, you haven't been so sure.
"What's wrong?" Xavier asked upon seeing an unreadable look rest on your face. He reached to place a hand on your shoulder.
"Nothing. I just want to get this over with," you said, moving away from his touch.
This confused Xavier. During the entirety of your friendship with him you have always loved physical contact, no matter how mad you were at him. You never once denied his touch, yet there you were, moving away from him.
"Are you sure?" He asked awkwardly, not knowing what he did wrong.
Before you could respond, someone cleared their throat. "I thought that Principal Weems made it very clear that no one was to go of campus."
The two of you looked at the werewolf that Principal Weems probably hired to guard the school. The werewolf crossed their arms. "Come on. I'm pretty sure that Principal Weems would love to have a talk with you."
End of flashback
"Damn, how long do we have to endure this torture?" Xavier jokingly asked. Confusion dawned on him as he didn't get a response. You couldn't still be mad at him, could you?
He looked over at you, seeing you leaned back in your chair with your eyes closed, breathing evened out as you had fallen asleep. He took this moment to admire the peaceful look on your face.
He never could understand how someone as perfect as you would ever want to be associated with the likes of him. All he knew is that he thanked his lucky stars for your unlikely friendship, even though he wished you two could be more than that.
Everyone always asked him if the two of you were together, which he always had to deny. He hoped that one day he'd be able to say yes to that question, but in reality he knew that having your friendship was more important to him and he wouldn't risk it for the off chance that you would say yes to dating him.
A guy could always dream, however.
He sighed, deciding to work on his sketch again. Admittedly, it was a sketch of you. You once told him that you would love to be drawn by him, to see him capture all your imperfections although, to him, you didn't have any.
"I want you to draw me like one of your french girls," you had jokingly told him a few months ago. He had laughed it off, but that did put a blush on his face.
He looked up at the clock, sighing as he saw that the two of you still had two hours of detention left. Weems had told you that it was either five hours of detention or one hour every day for five days. You had decided on the five hour one, saying you'd rather get this over and done with in one day.
So, while everyone was out in the sun and Ajax, Enid and Wednesday were at the Imagine Dragons concert, the two of you were stuck in detention. Luckily without any supervision, because Weems said she trusted that you wouldn't try to escape, basically implying that there would be serious consequences if the two of you did.
For now, he'd let you sleep. It gave him time to finish his sketch for you.
-------------------------------------------
"Hey, wake up. It's almost time to go." A soft voice broke you from your slumber.
You looked up, confused at your surroundings, until the haze from your sleep cleared up a bit and you were reminded of where you were.
You don't even recall falling asleep, or when Xavier moved his seat right next to yours. The last thing you recall is Xavier saying something, and then the rest went black.
"What?" You asked, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. Next to you was Xavier, who gave you a small, loving smile.
"There's only ten minutes of detention left. I doubt Weems will notice if we leave a few minutes earlier," he said, laughing lightly as you groaned. "Come on, you can go right back to sleep once we get to your dorm."
You looked at him with one eye open, motioning something to him. He playfully raised his eyebrows.
"You want a piggyback ride?"
"Yes, please," you replied, voice more timid than usual.
Xavier's smile didn't falter. He gave you a silent nod, motioning for you to get on his back.
You hopped on his back and picked up your bags with your telekinesis, letting it float behind you as you two made your way to your dorm.
On your way there, Xavier noticed you softly playing with his hair, making tiny braids and then taking them out, restarting the process.
"You have amazing hair, you know that?" You said quietly, opting to lay your chin on his head.
Xavier chuckled lightly, a blush covering his cheeks. This wasn't the first time you've absentmindedly complimented him while in this stage. Being a telepath took it's toll on you, considering how your mind worked overtime. Because of this, it takes you longer than most to properly wake up, resulting in these compliments from you.
"You really think so?" He asked. You nodded.
"Yeah. I especially love when you have your hair down. Don't get me wrong, I love it when it's in a ponytail, I just think that..."
Xavier smiled the whole way to your dorm room, listening to you rant about his hair. He could listen to you all day if he could. You were the most adorable person to him, and these half awake rants of yours always made him smile.
"Here we are," he said, opening the door to your dorm. He closed the door behind him, moving over to your bed to put you down.
As he basically tucked you into bed, you said something he didn't expect. "Did you mean what you thought? Back in the detention room, I mean."
"What do you mean?" He inquired, sitting down on the bed. His heart raced as he thought of all the possible things you could've seen in his mind back there, but he tried to remain calm.
"That you liked me. That you wanted to date me but you didn't wanna risk our friendship?"
Xavier gulped. It was now or never. "Would it be a good thing if I did?"
You smiled, sitting up. "It would be the best thing ever, because I like you too."
Xavier smiled, slightly leaning in. "Enough to go on a date with me?"
"Even more than that."
You closed the remaining distance between the two of you, lips melding together perfectly. Xavier put his hands on the sides of your face, while yours went to the back of his neck.
It was the best thing you have ever experienced. All those times you imagined kissing him didn't come close to the actual feeling. His lips were incredibly soft and he kissed you in a slow, passionate way that made you feel as if you were on cloud nine.
Unfortunately, air was still an important thing. The two of you pulled away from each other, hands still where they were during the kiss. Blushes covered both of your faces.
"That was- wow."
You laughed. "It really was. I never knew you were such a good kisser, Xavier."
"I have a couple of secret talents that you don't know about," he joked.
You laughed at that. Just as you were about to pull him back in for another kiss, your roommate, Yoko, entered the room.
"So, Xavier, you still gonna tell me that the two of you aren't a thing?"
-------------------------------------------
This was my first time writing Xavier, so I'm so sorry if this sucked. I hope that some of you thought it was okay, though. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you beautiful people next time. Bye!

Exams (Xavier x Reader)
Hello again! Finals are here at my university and let me tell you, it sucks. But this is perfect, because a request came in!
Requested by @ilovexavierthrope : Could you pls write one about Xavier x reader and the reader has ADHD maybe if your okay with that and the reader is studying for finals like crazy bc its their first year at nevermore? (Maybe mention that reader has autism). I tried my best, I feel like I had the ADHD part down, especially since I have it, but I’m currently not professionally on the spectrum so I hope I didn’t do too bad! Also, for anyone taking exams, I believe in you! You got this! This is 4225 words omg also it's 234am i love you guys 💙
Warnings: Mentions that reader is fem, some angst, panic over exams. I never really said that the reader is autistic or had adhd but it's heavily implied mainly by my own adhd habits, i had YouTube playing while i wrote this and i was also listening to music.
Tumblr media
      Like any other school, Nevermore had exams for their classes as well. Of course, they were different from normal exams, which meant that the students had to study harder than the average teen. Although most students were already used to the hard studying, newcomers were prone to having a far more difficult time trying to fit studying into their already busy schedules. Especially you, who had only just started your first year at Nevermore. Classes were already pretty difficult for an ever-racing mind, but trying to cram a bunch of information in to a brain that can’t even remember what it had for breakfast? Torture.
      Your routine was based off the clock, classes from 9am to near 5pm, giving you barely enough time to eat during the day, which resulted in you just completely forgetting that you needed food. Once that was over, you would beeline to the library to collect any books you could that had information on the classes you were taking. You had no idea what you were doing, never having a set study habit, and just trying whatever came to mind, you had flashcards and paper filled with copied notes, some colour coded in hopes that it would make it easier to remember. You even had a whole playlist that you listened to while studying, yet, for whatever reason, the words wouldn’t stick. You’d have to read over what you had already read multiple times, only to space out halfway through and come back confused. You’d constantly look up from your books and check the time, frowning when you noticed it had only been 5 minutes since you last checked, although it felt like it had been way longer. You would constantly change the song as well, deeming certain ones to be unhelpful in your studies even if you added them to the playlist specifically for that reason.
      You only really had contact with friends in class, who would ask you if you were free later that day to hang out. Enid especially asked you almost every day, frowning each time you told her you needed to study for the exams coming up. Wednesday even started to show concern, pointing out the dark circles forming under your eyes, and the growl of your stomach at the mention of lunch. “I think you should take a break, really.” Enid said, taking the book out of your hand and closing it. You desperately tried to write down what page you were on, but it had already left your mind. “Enid! Now I must read the whole thing again to find out what page I was on.” You scowled. Enid only shook her head and gathered your things up as the class was dismissed. “You’re coming to lunch with us, whether you like it or not! I can even quiz you while we eat if that would make you feel better?” You could only sigh as you left your seat, trudging after Enid and Wednesday.
      You sat down at a table, looking down at the food you had grabbed with heavy eyes. A slam next to you nearly made you jump out of your skin. “Pop quiz!” Enid exclaimed, holding one of your books in her hand. “Let’s see…ah! Who was the last God to enter Olympus?” You stared blankly at Enid, not comprehending what she had even said yet. You tried to think, racking your brain as you did, but nothing came up. There was only one name that came up when you thought of the question. “Alexius?” Was all you could come up with, and you knew it was the wrong answer as soon as you said it, watching Enid’s smile droop slightly at the answer. “Uh, no not quite. It says here that it was Dionysus. I’m not sure if I’m saying that right but yeah, not Alexius.” Enid stated, placing the book down in front of you and pointing out the answer. You facepalmed as the answer came into your head just seconds before she said the name, becoming mildly discouraged already.
      “Dionysus was the last God, but only because Homer didn’t admit him in.” A voice spoke behind you, and you felt the seat next to you shift as someone sat down beside you. Looking over, you lock eyes with Xavier, whom you shared the class with. He smiled as he continued, “Although that was a good guess, but his name is pronounced Alcaeus, it’s not really spelled the same way. That was the original name of Heracles, also not pronounced the same way as the Disney movie. It means Strength, and many leaders in Greece were named Alcaeus for that reason.” You dropped your head in defeat and embarrassment, feeling inferior to Xavier’s random knowledge on the Greek Gods. “That wasn’t even part of the class though, where did you get that name from?” He asked, placing his hand on his cheek as he looked at you. “I’m going to be honest,” you started, “no idea. I thought that if I read the whole book, I’d be ready for the exam, but I don’t even remember reading about Alcaeus.” A moment of silence fell onto the table, only to be interrupted by a gasp from you. “That’s right! That name was in a game I played! It was all about Greek Mythology. Alcaeus was the brother that we thought was dead. That’s where I got the name from.” The sudden memory made you excited, but your cheeks flushed red as you realized that your outburst was all because of a game, and that your answer to Enid’s question was all based off said game. “Anyway, clearly I need to study more, so I should be going.” You started, taking a large bite of food, and gathering your items once again. “Y/n! At least finish eating?” Enid yelled, watching as you trotted away, a book opened in your hands.
      Later that day, you sat under a tree, a different book in hand and pencil in the other, hurriedly writing anything that you felt was important for your French class. You had a list of words that would be considered feminine in French, placing certain words into the column and others in the other. “So, If I wanted to preserve something…it would be…sanctuariser. Do I even need to know that?” You spoke to yourself, looking back to the little piece of paper with a list of things the teacher said to study. “Absolutely not.” You groaned as you dropped your arms, playing with the grass and taking a few breaths. “Need any help?” A voice spoke, spooking you and causing you to hit your head on the trunk of the tree. Xavier hovered over you, a concerned look on his face as he watched you rub the back of your head. “Xavier, you scared the living daylights out of me!” You breathed, checking your hand to see if you were bleeding. “Sorry,” he chuckled, taking a seat next to you. He looked over your shoulder and read what you had written down, taking your pencil, and correcting minor mistakes like accents over e’s and the like. “I can help you, if you want?” He asked, watching as you looked down at the grass. You didn’t want to ask for help. Asking for help was like admitting defeat, and defeat would make people disappointed in you. Your mind raced at the idea that people would see you as a failure, and you desperately grabbed the grass to keep yourself grounded. “Uh, not now. Thank you, Xavier, though.” You said, taking the pencil back and writing more terms in French. Xavier kept his seat next to you, watching as you tried to study a new way, a way that you were taught when you were small. It was mainly a way to make sure you remembered how to spell words but writing the French words three times seemed like it would help you to remember them. It worked, slightly.
      As the time passed, the sun began to set. The breeze, although it was welcomed, was also distracting, and getting colder. You shivered as you flipped through the pages of yet another book, drifting your eyes over to Xavier every now and then to see if he was still there. He had been looking over your shoulder the whole time, asking if he could help every now and then. Sometimes he would help whether you liked it or not and would write little notes on the side of certain words in hopes that it would help you remember them better. Eventually he stood up and extended his hand out to you. “Come on, lets go inside before it gets too cold.” He offered. You stared at his hand for a moment, gathering up your things and taking it. “I still haven’t found the answer to a lot of the review questions, though, so once I get inside, I need to go to the library and find a book that has the answers.” You started, walking beside Xavier towards the giant doors. “I’m sure you can find the answers tomorrow, the exams aren’t until next week.” Xavier said, opening the door for you. You sighed as the warm air hit you, closing your eyes and giving you a brief wave of fatigue. You opened your eyes, looking up at Xavier, “I know that, but I just need to make sure I know the material.” Xavier could only scoff and shake his head as you checked your phone. “I have to go; I need to get those books!” You shouted, sending a final wave to Xavier as you sped away.
      The next day was a Saturday. There were no classes, giving students extra time to catch up on both sleep and their studies. This also meant that you were up at sunrise, quickly making your way to the library. Your mind raced as you thought of what you needed to study next, while also trying to remember what you had studied the previous day. This early in the morning, there weren’t many people in the library, giving you first pick at what you needed for studying. With your arms full, you tucked yourself into a corner and set up your study space.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Xavier woke up around 10am, a time he deemed normal for the weekend. He turned in his bed and glanced at the empty bed on the other side of the room, once occupied by Rowan. He would always comment on Xavier’s sleeping habits and tell him about getting enough sleep, claiming that it would help him remember more from his classes. He groaned at the thought of Rowan not being there, and slowly got up. He took a quick shower and made his way down to grab something to eat. He took a seat next to a tired Enid and emotionless Wednesday, Enid picking at her food as she looked around the room. “Xavier, you’re later than normal.” Wednesday pointed out, glancing over at him. Xavier could only shrug and take a bite of his food, watching as Enid’s head whipped around every few moments. He raised an eyebrow, “what are you looking for, Enid?” He questioned, fork midway to his mouth. Enid’s nails shot out and quickly retracted, and she took a final glance around before she set her eyes on Xavier. “Y/n, they aren’t here yet.” She said, tapping her fingers as she took another bite. “She’s normally here by now,” she mumbled, placing a hand over her mouth so she wouldn’t spit any food out. Xavier looked around, scanning the room quickly before shrugging. “Maybe she’s sleeping in? She’s been studying a lot; she’s got to be exhausted.” He explained, taking a final bite of his food. Enid shook her head and frowned. “She never misses our breakfast routine, you know that.” Xavier raised his hands, nodding his head. “I understand. Listen, I’ll keep an eye out for her, how about that? If I see her, I’ll let you know and tell her you’re worried.” Enid’s face relaxed a bit and her shoulders dropped slightly, nodding.
      With that, Xavier went about his Saturday routine. Archery practice, a trip to the library, lunch. The whole time, he kept his eyes open for you. He didn’t see you in the library, which only told him that you were probably still sleeping. Once 3pm came around and you didn’t show up for lunch, he went out in search of you. He looked by the tree he had found you the previous day, a pencil in your spot. Xavier figured that you left it by accident and picked it up, planning to hand it back to you next time he saw you. He ran into Ajax and asked him if he had seen you, “last I saw Y/n, they were in the library, in the normal corner. They were there when I showed up, but that was a bit ago.” Ajax recounted, and he walked back with Xavier to the library to show him where you had been sitting, only to find the corner empty save for a book. Xavier sighed as he picked it up, placing it in his bag along with the growing list of items he needed to return to you. You weren’t at dinner either, and now Enid wasn’t the only one worried about your whereabouts. Xavier even went to your dorm, knocking on the door and talking with your roommate. “Honestly? Haven’t seen them for a bit. They weren’t in bed when I got up this morning. Come to think of it, they weren’t in bed when I went to sleep either.” They said, shrugging. Xavier sighed and ran a hand through his hair, stress building up as the time went by. He had no idea where you would be hiding.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      You were on the ground, laptop in front of you and books scattered around you. Your phone played your studying playlist as you waved your hand along the ground in search of the pen you had just put down. Your laptop had multiple tabs open, YouTube in one, a few word documents, an “official page of Greek Mythology” opened in yet another tab. So many things happening at once, yet you couldn’t focus on any of them. Normally, having multiple stimuli helped you get assignments done, but for something so nerve wracking and important as exams, nothing seemed to do the trick. You felt yourself breakdown slowly as you stared at the blank page, unable for the life of you to come up with the answer to “Who visited Danae, and fathered her son?” Your mind told you that it was simple, the answer on the tip of your tongue, yet nothing. You start to shake your head, muttering curses to yourself for not remembering something so simple as a name. You switched through songs on your phone, hoping that a song would pop up that would spark the answer. You didn’t hear the snapping outside the room, or the rumbling of the statue revealing a staircase. You were too preoccupied, trying desperately to hold your tears back so you wouldn’t smudge the ink on your paper.
      Xavier walked down the stairs, stopping mid step to find you in the center of the room, rocking and holding back sniffles as you shuffled through paper. He called out your name, hoping to catch your attention, but he quickly realized that you had your earbuds in, unable to hear a single word he could utter. He stepped carefully, making his way slowly towards you so you didn’t get spooked. He watched as the tears welled up even more in your eyes as you slowly looked up, realizing that you were no longer alone. Realizing that you were in a vulnerable state, Xavier sat next to you, wrapping an arm around your shaking figure, and rubbing your back, letting you collect your thoughts. You shuddered as you tried to hold back your tears, but Xavier’s calming voice seemed to finally break the dam. “I know you’re stressed. You can tell me about it when you’re ready.”
      Tears spilled from your eyes and ran down your cheeks. You struggled to get anything out that weren’t incoherent sobs, a stutter of words falling from your lips as you struggled to explain. “I just? You know? It’s my first year here,” another sob, “and I don’t want to seem like a failure. I want them to know that I can handle it! I can! But my mind is just racing? Everything is distracting me, but if I don’t have anything to distract me, I get super anxious and cant focus. But I hate it so much.” You breathed heavily as you tried to find a way to explain your thoughts. “I just…I don’t want to be a disappointment. I want to get good marks on these exams, so no one looks down on me, and yet I just can’t understand what I’m looking at. But the idea of asking for help feels so demeaning! It feels like I’m admitting to failure, and if I do that, then I’m a lost cause.” You continued to sob as you turned to bury your face into Xavier’s chest, the harsh reality becoming real as you spoke, causing you to break down even more. Xavier remained quiet as he kept rubbing your back, humming a soft tune to calm you down. He allowed you to get all your emotions out and calm down on your own, only whispering every now and then soft words of comfort until you had cried enough. You slacked in his embrace, taking deep breaths as your tears began to dry.
      Xavier brought your face up so he could meet your eyes. He took note at how red they were, how puffy your skin had become, and how dark the circles under your eyes had become. He sighed as he studied your face, trying to find the right words to say. “You’re not a failure, I can see that. And you’re not a failure for accepting help when you need it. Exams are stressful, trust me, but you don’t have to deal with he stress of them alone, you know. You have me, and Enid, and Wednesday would probably help you if you asked.” He wiped tears away as he continued, “No one will think you’re a failure. They wont see you as a disappointment either. No one is perfect, hell, I failed an exam my first year all because I was too stressed to even understand what it was I was learning. Am I a disappointment?” You shook your head in response, a small smile on your lips. “No, maybe a bit of a dork, but not a disappointment.” You responded. Xavier smiled and rested his forehead against yours. “Exactly. Everyone fails at least once. I think it builds character. But you’re not going to fail. Not if I can help it.” He pressed a kiss to you temple as he grabbed one of your books, “Now, Danae was visited by a God and was then pregnant. Remember that her son is the one that’s supposed to take down the king, her father. Which God seems like the kind of person to knock a girl up knowing that the prophecy states a war to follow?” You bit the inside of your cheek, thinking hard. “A God that would do something like that? It sounds like a Zeus thing?” You questioned, brows furrowed. Xavier smiled and nodded, pointing out an excerpt from the book. So Danae endured, the beautiful, to change the glad daylight for brass-bound walls, and in that chamber secret as the grave She lived a prisoner. Yet to her came Zeus in the golden rain. This was the story of Perseus.
      Xavier stayed by your side as you studied together, helping each other to remember the content. As the night dragged on, your eyes became heavy, and you yawned. “I think it’s time to wrap it up for tonight, don’t you think?” Xavier asked as he closed the book he was reading from. You nodded slowly, stretching your arms, and sighing as your back popped and cracked as you moved the stiff muscles. “Can we do this again tomorrow, then?” You asked, gathering your items up. Xavier smiled and nodded, “Of course, but only after you get some rest and something to eat tomorrow.” You chuckled and made your way up the stairs, walking with Xavier back up to your dorm. The next morning, you woke around 10:30, rubbing the sleep from your eyes. You looked over at your phone, finding a text from Xavier that read, “Once you wake up, let me know, I’ll meet you for breakfast.” You smiled as you sat up in bed, stretching your tired muscles and letting out a yawn. You grabbed something to wear and picked up your bag full of study material, shooting a text to Xavier and making your way to the dining hall.
      He met you there and walked with you to grab your food, sitting down at your normal table and eating silently for a few moments. Enid and Wednesday followed shortly after, Enid hurrying to your side and expressing her worries for your well-being, and scolding Xavier for not telling her that you were ok. You chuckled at her and thanked her for worrying about you, continuing to take bites of your food as the two girls went off to get their own food. “So, I was thinking,” Xavier started, holding his fork in the air, and pointing it towards you. “That’s never good,” you quickly said, stifling a giggle. Xavier frowned, continuing, “I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that. Anyway, exams begin in three days, so why don’t we study together until they’re over? We meet in the secret room, I bring snacks and water, we ace those exams?” You sat there, chewing on your food as you thought about his offer. He was a great help when it came to studying, and your little session last night helped you to understand a bit of what you were doing. “Sounds like a plan.” You said, taking another bite of your breakfast.
      The days following were filled study sessions with Xavier, and once one exam was done you studied for the next exam. Feeling confident, you walked into each class ready to take the exam, meeting Xavier afterwards to tell him about it and how you felt afterwards. You’d then get dinner, study for the next exam, and just hang out between studying to give your minds a break. It felt as if the exams went by with a snap, and before you knew it, they were over. You had two days until the grades would come out, and although you were happy for it to finally be over, a part of you was sad that you wouldn’t be meeting Xavier each night to study anymore. It felt as if a cloud hung over your head as you went to bed that night, only growing heavier as your thoughts raced once again. In the morning, you woke up to a text from Xavier, asking you when you wanted to go get breakfast. You smiled as you got up and ready, the cloud above your head slowly shrinking as you went to meet Xavier for breakfast. Afterwards, you walked together into Jericho, finding a coffee shop to refuel your energy that had left your body from the week. “Do you think you passed?” You asked Xavier as you took a sip of your drink, its contents brought you joy and comfort. Xavier took a sip of his own drink, a smile gracing his lips. “Of course, I had the best study partner in all of Nevermore to help me.” You felt your cheeks warm at his comment, drifting your eyes down to you drink in embarrassment. “Yeah… Maybe I did well too, then.”
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      When grades came out, you nearly cried. You had passed every single exam, and it was all thanks to Xavier. You had looked everywhere to find him, finding him in his dorm working on a sketch in his sketchbook. When he opened the door, you ran in and wrapped your arms tightly around his torso, a giant smile greeting him. “Xavier! We did it! I passed all the exams!” You shouted happily, jumping in excitement. Xavier hugged you back, planting a kiss to your hair as he reveled in your excitement. Your smile was contagious and seeing you happy made him happy. “That’s amazing!” He exclaimed, his smile widening as he looked at you. “We need to celebrate.” And with that, the two of you went out to a small restaurant, enjoying each other’s company as you talked about anything you could think of. After, you went to get something sweet to eat as you made your way back to the school, making your way to Xavier’s dorm. “Let’s watch a movie!” You said, pulling out your phone and connecting it to the little projector you had left in his room one time. You spent the whole night watching movies, cuddled up together. Eventually, you fell asleep in Xavier’s arms, and he gave you a final kiss on your temple before whispering goodnight, falling asleep himself.
Hi me again. Your comments mean so much to me💙 i woke up to my phone constantly buzzing with feedback on Festive Outings, it made me really happy you have no idea. Again, if you have exams soon, you got this!! 💙💙
You're dating Xavier Thorne. (Part1' Headcanons' Fluff!)
Tumblr media
• Xavier's eyes on you were solemn, they always were. The greenish ocean would take you from top to bottom, no matter the occasion, memorizing every detail attentively. When he had you close, he would have his hands on you, like an involuntary and disturbing act, sometimes on your waist, pushing your hair away or pulling you closer to him so that your bodies are close and he can touch his lips to your temple (or place multiple kisses on the top of your head since he was much taller than you), all this with his eyes attentive to your movements and countenance; he would draw you as soon as he could in a sigh that he couldn't get enough of you. And you'd love that no matter what. You're his muse.
• It wouldn't take him long to notice some of your favorite things; like your flowers!!! (specifically tulips, as you had them in your earrings, hair accessories and fresh ones by your bed that the teacher brought to you as first gift; he knew that it reminded you of your mother and that, in his view sensitive artist, could see in your eyes how that sent you home). Therefore, whenever he had you by his side during classes, he would find himself absent-mindedly drawing clustered tulips in his notebook, hiding a goofy smile as he longed for your loving gaze before him, he would wait until the end of class and before you left the room, he would ask you to close your eyes, he would whisper in his husky voice so you wouldn't peek just so he could hear your warm laugh filling his ears, and he would make the flowers real, in seconds you would be jumping on his neck with open arms, crushing the tulips and squeezing him in an infectious smile that'd made his chest flutter in warmth, you would take the flowers in your arms and he would know that you would keep them in water in your room until he provided fresh ones; you would thank him immensely, always finding his gift one of the most fascinating, shower him with wet kisses that he would answer eagerly and you'd not fail to leave one of the tulips stuck in his hair before grabbing his hand and walking down the halls of nevermore. You'd love the eyes on you, people watching how in love you were with each other in goofy smile. You're his.
• Well, and since his love language, in addition to enjoying giving gifts, would be physical touch and quality time, he would never resist going to you, even if you refuse saying you don't need it, when you call him, during night or just after some class, and he realized from the call that you weren't having your best day he'd be coming to see you. Your meetings, secret or not, would be by some tree and bucolic landscape of the high school or in your own room, in which your roommate would gladly help to push Xavier there with you without anyone noticing because she knew that it would do you good and soon you would feel better. Xavier would present you with sweets, your favorites, some tulips that he would never let go of pampering you with them (and you always smiled goofily knowing that he was the one who designed them due to the plant's features, and you loved each second of that), without saying much, as soon as he lays down on your bed, you would snuggle into him, letting your ear make room in his chest and letting his heartbeat soothe you as he strokes your hair, you would stay that way for hours (sometimes even stayed overnight, only realizing you did this when your roommate came in and forced him to leave before you guys got into trouble, you would hate that but understand because you know she is always right). From time to time, you talk about future dates you need to have together, movies you still need to watch and books you two should read!!! and talking about books, something, most of the times honestly, he loved, as much as you do, how he knew how to cheer you up and calm you down in times of stress (like finals or karma from weirdos on nevermore), he just developed the habit of picking a book he knows you'd like from the library, and always at those dark times, he would appear with the book in hands, he would observe your affectionate smile that answered his before you, and he would pull you to his chest, resting his chin on your shoulder so that every inch of your body was in touch with his, then, he would have the book open before your eyes, and he would start to read with his calm and relaxed voice close to your ear (putting you to sleep), he would hear and feel your affectionate laugh in his chest, making him happy to make you feel better, as you sent vibrations through his chest at his failed attempt to produce some accent he thought sounded like the character he was reading at the moment. You always had a lot of laughs, sometimes you chose characters and read together and it always works to calm you down and even make you fall asleep in his arms as he keeps an admiring smile in front of you. He couldn't love you any less.
Found yourself a friend; Wednesday Addams x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Bad angst? idk bad fanfic
A/N: Uh this is not my first time writing fanfic but it's the first time Im posting it so pls be nice I am very fragile
Word count: 1.4k
Wednesday had never meant for it to get this complicated, but unfortunately you had bigger plans, seeming as she was standing in your room, eyes red rimmed from crying.
You had been the new student at Nevermore along with Wednesday, you and her being the exceptions as both of your mothers had been close with Principle Weems during their time at Nevermore.
You immediately felt drawn to her, hanging around with her and Enid almost everyday, and sometime after the Poe Cup, you had developed a crush on her.  You had to tell Enid almost right away, after you found her reading your journal (which you swore was not a diary), forcing you to confess your feelings for Wednesday.
"I can't believe I didn't see it! I mean, you, anxious, bumbling, clumsy-"
"Enid!"
"Sorry! Sorry. But I mean you, clumsy and always causing problems, and Wednesday, perfectly calm and collected? It makes perfect sense! How could I be so blind?"  She had scolded herself before ushering you to tell her all about how you felt.
"What is it you like about her, though? I know I said it was obvious, but you're so….not-Wednesday-y." Enid looked at you confused.
"I don- I don't know, okay? I just- She's so smart and she always has a solution, and she's so, so beautiful it makes me want to change my name and move countries!" You babbled. In your eyes Wednesday was perfect, and nothing would change that.
After that, Enid was constantly trying to get you two alone together, which rarely worked.
"Guys! I just got a text from Yoko, she said it's an emergency, I gotta go!" Enid scrambled, collecting her jacket and shoes. You glared at her, aware of her plan.
"If Yoko is in trouble, we should all go. Who knows what you'll do if you're alone." Wednesday pointed out coldly. You nodded briskly and began collecting your own things from the floor. Enid pouted and sighed.
Though you had been trying to conceal your crush, you couldn't help but become more physically affectionate with Wednesday, occasionally brushing your hand against hers while walking to class, or leaning in closer to her when talking about her research on The Hyde.
She had brushed it off with a cold glare, pulling away from you to continue speaking. Though you continued your advances. Until one day, it became too much.
You were walking with her around the school grounds during lunch, brushing your hand off hers and bumping into her playfully as you talked about your day to her, her head buried in an old book she found in the library, containing information on The Hyde.
"Enough! I am sick and tired of you throwing yourself at me every chance you get, Y/n. We are not friends. And I do not like you. Now kindly leave me alone and never speak to me ever again or I will rip apart every single thing you own." She threatened, her eyes were hard and cold, full of anger.
You stood there silently, unable to register the words spoken to you properly as you avoided Wednesdays' piercing gaze. You sniffed, tears welling in your eyes as your body shook.
You looked at Wednesday with tearful eyes and nodded, not seeing the regret on her face through your tears. You turned on your heel and rushed back to your dorm, covering your face as everyone stared at you and Wednesday.
You found refuge in you and Bianca's dorm, sitting on your bed crying as a group of girls comforted you.
"Honestly, Y/n, she's not worth it!" Yoko tried consulting you as the other girls nodded.
"I knew that girl was trouble the second she walked in, always stringing people along only to break their hearts." Bianca spat, her hatred for Wednesday growing more by the second.
Enid kept quiet, not wanting to speak bad about her roommate, though she was furious with her.
Knock Knock.
All eyes turned to the door.
"It better not be her!" One of the girls, Tazmina, cried.
"I'll get it." You mumbled, rising from the bed and drying your eyes with your sleeve. The girls watched in silence as you made your way to the door, turning the handle and peaking outside.
And there stood Wednesday, her eyes red from crying, her hair ruffled and untidy, holding a bunch of deep red roses.
Previously
After you had run off, Wednesday found herself doing the same, running up to her and Enid's dorm, ignoring the blazing stare of her peers.
She flung open the door and crashed onto her bed, ignoring Things' frazzled tapping.
In the silence of her room, with only herself to blame for her mistake, Wednesday allowed herself to cry.
Sobs wracked her body as she shook, unable to keep her feelings inside. All the regret and guilt coming out in tears and heaves. She felt utterly and truly sick.
She sat on her bed as she explained her situation to Thing, who scolded her thoroughly. She took out her journal from its hiding spot, flipping through the pages, all of them containing your name. She stopped at some of the entries.
Dearest Journal,
Today has been truly awful. I caught sight of Y/n and Bianca hanging out again. Does Y/n like her?  Why did she laugh so much? She never laughs that much around me. I fear I am scaring her off. She looked devastatingly gorgeous today. Her h/c hair looked so shiny and perfect, I felt like a pathetic school girl with a crush on her teacher.
Dearest Journal,
Y/n's hand brushed off mine again. I only wish I had the confidence to hold it. I wonder at night what it must feel like, would she like the feeling of my own hand in hers? Her skin looks so soft, she looks so soft, I just want to wrap my arms around her and never, ever let go.
Dearest Journal,
I almost confessed to Y/n today. She just looked so horribly beautiful, her face does the cutest thing when she's focused, she looks like a kitten. My feelings disgust me, and yet I cannot get them to leave.
Wednesday closed the leather journal and made up her mind.
She told her plan to Thing, who seemed incredibly enthusiastic about the whole ordeal.
"You've been hanging around with Enid too much these days." She muttered.
Sneaking down into Ms. Thornhills' room, Wednesday picked up the bouquet of red roses that stood idle in a green vase on Ms. Thornhills' desk.
She inspected the roses for a moment before making her way to the dorm she knew to be yours and Bianca's.
Knocking on the door, the words left her when she saw it was you who opened the door.
Present
Your mouth gaped open at the sight of Wednesday, who looked at you just as lost.
"I…May I speak to you privately?" She asked politely, unable to meet your eyes.
Though every instinct told you no, you nodded and waved at the girls, telling them you would be back in a moment. Bianca and Yoko glared at Wednesday, though Enid could hardly contain her grin.
The two of you walked in complete silence, stopping at the Edgar Allen Poe statue that was tucked away in a small passage.
Wednesday looked away from you and handed you the roses.
"I want- I-" Wednesday stuttered, taking a deep breath before looking into your eyes.
"I'm sorry, Y/n. I…should not have said those things. And I did not mean them." You gave her a look, confused but needing to know where she was going with it.
"To be completely truthful with you, I….seem to have developed feelings for you. Romantic ones. Though I know you could never be with somebody as cold and uncaring as me, these feelings have been chewing my brain for what feels like years even though I have only known you for a series of weeks. I understand if you do not feel the same way-"
Wednesday was cut off as you pulled her into a kiss, your lips slotting together like a perfect puzzle, as though they were made for eachother.
Her hands rested on your waist as yours were grasping the base of her neck.
"I like you too Wednesday, a lot. And I forgive you." You murmured as you rested your forehead on hers, smiling softly at her sigh of relief.
"Ahem-" A cough came from behind the two of you. You and Wednesday turned your heads to see Ms. Thornhill standing there, a barely concealed grin on her face.
"I see you've found a friend after all, Wednesday." Your face turned red and you hid your blushing face in the crook of Wednesdays' neck, groaning in embarrassment. Wednesday smirked slightly.
"Girlfriend, actually."
Rowan has been your boyfriend for months. What you don't know, is that he has been hiding a rather big secret.
Tumblr media
The class was, as always, not too interesting to you. The plants that miss Thornhill showed off are stunning, but there is a better way to spend your time. You twist your pen between your fingers, your head resting on the palm of your hand. You hear paper ripping as a hand slowly slides something toward you.
This catches your attention. You look down at the paper and the side from which it came. Rowan looks at you with a smile, nodding to the piece of paper that you are now holding.
'Read it,' he mouthes.
After carefully unfolding the lined paper, you see what it says. Nightshade library after school? Your smile gets bigger as you turn the piece of paper around, scribbling a ton of hearts and a big 'YES!' on it before discreetly moving it back to Rowan's desk.
You had been dating him for a while now - almost two years. Actually, one year and ten months. Not that you had been counting. You joined the Nightshades soon after you showed up at Nevermore as you were quick to befriend Bianca and Davina. The library is the very place where you first met Rowan. He was making some homework and flipping through a book as you descended the stairs. First, he quickly scrambled to get his stuff to get out, but you were quick to assure him that he should stay to finish his work. Besides, you had to make some work yourself.
Bianca first raised an eyebrow when you told her you liked Rowan. She has never been too fond of him, not even sure as to why he was in the Nightshades, but she didn't mind. If anything, she helped you get a bit closer to him. Pairing you together during fencing, or asking Rowan to help you out with homework.
It worked.
So now you had a loving boyfriend who was everything you could have ever wanted and much more. Rowan truly is someone you could only dream of. You would wake up with a neatly written note on your bedside, or a bouquet of handpicked flowers. He even carried around a crystal in his pocket and a small box of matches in his bag. Just in case you needed it.
"So, I would love to see everyone's work on Monday! Enjoy your weekend, guys."
You quickly close your books as you place them in your bag, zipping them closed before slinging them over your shoulder. Rowan looks down at you with a smile, one eyebrow raised.
"So, what are you going to do for the homework?"
He noticed you weren't paying attention. You roll your eyes, laughing as you softly elbow him in the side before taking hold of his hands. A laugh escapes his lips as the two of you walk out of the classroom.
"I wrote it down for you, no worry."
Rowan leads you to the small, hidden hall. In front of you is the Edgar Allan Poe statue. To most of the school, it was just a random statue of one of the most famous Nevermore students. But you know what lies behind. Two snaps are all it takes for the statue to move and for you to be able to enter the hidden library.
You spend a lot of time here, especially with Rowan. Normally, the Nightshades only come in here for mocktail parties or emergencies, but you liked being in the library. The dusty books, the silence, the dim lights. The shared hugs, kisses, and occasional make-out sessions with Rowan. Hidden in a corner is also a chest filled with some drinks, snacks, and ingredients for your spells.
The homework could wait. You have two full days to finish it - all you want to do is relax with Rowan.
"Wow, we really have to clean this place up soon," Rowan awkwardly laughs, shrugging off his jacket before rolling up his sleeves.
The amount of dust that lies on the books makes him slightly nervous. He can already feel the itching in his throat and the tightness in his chest. Not now. Please.
He looks over at you, but you seem too focused on his arms. He never really showed them off - he would always neatly wear his uniform or zip-up hoodies. The watch around his wrist was also always worn as Rowan might be the most punctual person you ever met.
"Hm," you hum, agreeing with him. "I can do that. I think we're the only ones who really mind the dust."
You know that Rowan likes to have everything neat and clean. His clothes, his room, his hair. He likes being organized and having everything cleaned. At least, that is the part you know. The other part is that he likes having clean sheets and a dustless room because Rowan is scared of having an asthma attack.
He has had them ever since he was a kid, but it never got easier. He is always scared that he might run out of puffs, but most of all, he is scared that you will find out he even has asthma.
"Well," you nod. "I have a couple of spells that I want to perform. Is it okay if I do it here?"
"Yeah," Rowan immediately smiles. "Of course."
You skip over to the chest, opening it before grabbing some things. You have to wipe some dust off of the chest, the particles making you sneeze.
"Okay, I am definitely cleaning this tomorrow."
Rowan lets out a chuckle as he sits down on one of the chairs, taking a book out of his bag before opening it on the page where he last left off. In the meanwhile, you had laid out everything on the table, making sure to organize everything based on spells. You had a thick journal that had every spell you wanted to perform or have performed before.
A match gets lit as multiple candles get lit, making Rowan a bit more nervous. The dust, webs, candles - a recipe for disaster. But, as long as he just takes deep breaths, he should be fine. It is quiet in the library for a little bit. The flipping of a page, the lighting of a match, the crushing of a bay leaf.
The boy his throat starts itching more and more as he tries to get rid of the feeling by clearing his throat. It doesn't do a lot though, except for catching your attention after a few poor attempts.
"Here," you hold out your water bottle to him with a smile.
He gratefully takes it, unscrewing the top before taking small sips. Please, let the water work.
It doesn't.
The bottle gets placed back on the table as he whispers a thank you. He is too scared to speak up - if he starts coughing, it is over. Rowan picks up his book again, trying to focus on his book, but it almost seems like the letters are dancing. His focus is gone as he tries not to cough or wheeze.
His heart slowly beats faster and faster as he breathes in and out a bit faster as well. He slowly reaches for his jacket which hangs over the chair, trying to get his inhaler.
"And voila!"
You hold up the small, sealed bottle with a big grin. A mix of herbs, crystals, and moon water sat inside as the top was sealed with candle wax. Rowan quickly pulls his hand back, shooting you a smile.
You blow out the candle, letting out a sigh. The jar was mainly for focus - something you quite lacked the last few days.
As you wrote down the recipe and effects of the jar in your journal, Rowan was busy trying to slow down his breathing as the smoke from the candle gets closer and closer to him.
His chest feels tighter and he feels like saying one word will make him pass out. To be honest, it might. A cough leaves his lips, followed by many more.
"Rowan? Are you okay?" You look at him with your eyebrows creased as you get closer to him, resting your hand on his knee.
You were sat on the floor as he sat in the chair. Rowan tries to nod as he tries to shrug it all off, but the coughing only gets worse. His breathing sounds uneven and wheezy as he clutches his chest.
Shit, shit, shit.
The feeling of tightness only gets worse as his breathing gets faster and more shallow. He barely even sees you sitting in front of him as he is too focused on trying to get any oxygen in his lungs.
"Rowan?"
You sit in between his legs, holding his face in your hands.
"Rowan? What's going on?"
You are really stressed now. He almost seems unresponsive as one hand is wrapped tightly around your wrist. With his other, he tries to point to his jacket. You are confused for a second - he seems to be dying, and he wants his jacket? You quickly crawl over to the jacket, patting the pockets before pulling out the object. A blue... thing? You have no idea what to do with it, but now is not the time to ask questions.
You quickly hand the device to Rowan as he raises it to his mouth, pushing the top of the inhaler to get a puff of medicine into his body. After repeating the action multiple times, his body finally relaxes. His muscles are not tensed anymore, though his eyes now sting with tears falling down his cheeks.
"Rowan?" You whisper. "Let's get you to the infirmary, okay?"
He only nods, too embarrassed to meet your eyes. The last thing he wanted was for you to see him like this. He is supposed to be there for you - be your hero, be your protector. Not only that, but now he is actually sure that you will leave him. It is a fear he had before, but this confirmed it. If he had been bullied for it before, he will be bullied for it now.
The walk to the infirmary is quiet. The books and spell jars are long abandoned in the library, though it is not even on your mind. You were so scared, so worried for Rowan. You had no clue on what was going on, and all you can focus on is that he is fine.
"All right," the infirmary assistant nods, removing the blood pressure machine from Rowan's arm. "Nothing bad is going on. You know the drill - lot's of rest!"
She smiles at both you and Rowan before handing the boy an orange device, very similar to the one he had before. You thank the lady before leading Rowan back to his room. He still had not said a word to you, his eyes and cheeks still red from the stray tears and lack of oxygen.
You made sure that Rowan had changed into some type of pajama before softly pushing him onto the mattress, laying the blankets on top of his legs.
"Do you want anything from the cafeteria? I can go down and grab you dinner?"
He shakes his head. He doesn't want you to leave. He knows that you will, but he just wants to keep you here as long as you can. Just before you find out.
It is quiet for a minute as you sit on the end of his bed, looking at your boyfriend. He is fiddling with the hem of the blanket, nervously looking around the room.
"I'm sorry," he finally whispers.
You look up, furrowed brows.
"Sorry for what?"
"The asthma attack," he speaks even softer than before. He is so scared to lose you that his eyes tear up yet again. "I-I really can't help it. I tried to stop it, but all the dust and smoke got to me. Normally I am on time with medicine, I really tried to not burden you with it, but-"
"Hey," you mumble, scooting closer to him as you softly hold his hand. "You're okay."
He softly shakes his head, looking up at you through his lashes. The sight of him with his teary eyes makes your heart ache as you place your other hand on his cheek.
"I don't think you could be a burden even if you tried, Rowan."
He sniffles as he softly leans into your touch, his long eyelashes sticking together because of the tears.
"You're leaving, aren't you?"
It is something he should have expected. The outcast in a school full of outcasts. To expect something as perfect as you is outrageous and he should have known-
"Leave you? God, Rowan, I will never leave your side ever again," you furrow your eyebrows. "You scared me to death today. I need to be there in case it ever happens again."
"You're not leaving?"
Your heart breaks up into a million pieces as you scoot even closer to him, pulling him into a hug as you run your hands over his back.
"I wouldn't dream of it."
He slowly nods, his arms tightly wrapping around your frame as he buries his face into your neck. He feels so, so tired. His arms and legs are shaking and he feels like he just ran a marathon. Mentally, he feels like shit as well. He had tried to hide this from you for so long, and now he still burdened you with it.
You notice his silence as you play with his hair, the boy still in your arms.
"I will never leave you, Rowan," you whisper in his ear. "You are my world."
"I'm not too much?"
The tone of his voice sounds relieved, though still unsure.
"Never. Too hot, maybe. Too much? Never."
This gets a soft laugh out of him as he sniffs again, softly pulling back before wiping his eyes. You press a kiss on his forehead as you smile at him.
"Movie?"
-
Ever since that moment, you have avoided candles in small, confined spaces. Rowan insisted that you didn't have to put your spells on hold every time he would come over to your room, but you insisted that they could wait. Rowan is more important to you than any spell could ever be.
Your bag now also had a designated spot for an extra inhaler. You carried it everywhere - the Weathervane, school, the woods, Jericho. You did not go anywhere without the inhaler.
It gave Rowan a piece of mind. With or without his asthma, you still accepted him. You didn't call him names, stepped on his inhaler, or insulted him. Though he is still anxious that you will leave him, his thoughts are calmed down each time he sees you smile at him. You hold his hands as you kiss his knuckles, you play with his hair as his head lies in your lap.
You are his peace, as he is yours.
Psychogator gives us "The Waiting Room" with Ruby Rose, Claire Redfield, Heavy, and Hellboy.
Somewhere in an omni-dimensional realm: The Merchant's Inventory...
(Claire Redfield finds herself in the bright room, where she sees the other three characters sitting on their seats. They seem to be waiting for the same thing she is. She just sits on her seat, taking a magazine and tries to read...though she can't help but feel curious)
Claire: *To Ruby* So...what are you supposed to be? Some kind of Red Riding Hood?
Ruby: Huh? Oh, my name's Ruby. I'm kind of a monster hunter.
Claire: And you...? Red Guy?
Hellboy: "Red Guy"? Really?
C: You some kind of demon? Who I guess also hunts demons?
H: That's kind of leaving out important details, but...yeah. That's the gist of it.
C: And the other guy's some of mercenary.
Heavy: I am Heavy Weapons Guy. I was commissioned to Red Team.
C: And none of you are weirded out by this?
R: Mmm...Nope.
Heavy: Niet.
Hellboy: Trust me. I've found weirder things in weirder worlds than this.
C: Okay, then...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Claire: So, how did you guys hear about this place?
Hellboy: I was recommended to it by a friend of mine, and I was pretty much okay going into any place that can cook up a good new firearm for me. No questions asked.
Heavy: My Soldier friend brought here one day.
R: A Blacksmith Lady give me a ticket for a dimensional-traveling gig. I told them I just wanted to see cool weapons instead of just being around people. That's what's school's for.
Heavy: Da. School is good, Tiny Sniper. Where do you go?
R: Ever heard of Beacon Academy?
Heavy: I do not. This is good school?
R: *sigh* It's the BEST. You can learn how to fight monsters, how to work as a team, but the only bad thing is learning about history and stuff.
Heavy: Learning is good. I went to Soviet College of Mines, Farms, and Science. I have PHD on Russian Literature.
Claire: Do you...use that in your line of work?
Heavy: More than you think. *Turns to Hellboy* Hell-Man, what is your favorite enemy to kill in war?
Hellboy: I don't know about "war", but...I think my favorite enemy is probably giants. Either normal giants or gods, it's all the same to me. It makes things a lot more challenging.
Heavy: Killing giant robots is good thing, but to kill Spy is glorious thing! Brings glory to team! What about you, Little Rose? You are killing type.
Ruby: MY favorite enemy? I-I don't know. Beowolves, Ursas, Nevermores, Geists...It's like choosing what my favorite kind of cookie is!
Heavy: Hahaha! I like you, Tiny Sniper!
Claire: I got a few enemies I've come across. A few lickers and an asshole tyrant are kind of a breath of fresh air after swarms of zombies.
Heavy: Do Lickers disguise as best friend and stab you in the back?
Claire: Well, no, but...I have lost a few good friends to worse...
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ruby: *Turns to Heavy* Why do you call me "Tiny Sniper"?
Heavy: You are tiny and Sniper, no? You wear red, fitting for RED Team. Your gun hits like Machina. You earn this by being futuristic killer. You should try out for RED Team.
Ruby: I guess that could be fun. I mean, If I'm only there to kill monsters and robots and not...you know, people.
Heavy: Da. This is good for you. I suggest helping us against Gray Manns' robots and Merasmus' undead. You will kill many of them before dying, I think.
Ruby: I hope it doesn't come to that. Yang will get pretty worried if I do.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hellboy: So, Redfield, what heat do you usually carry?
Claire: Anything I can get my hands on, really. Shotguns, grenade launchers, miniguns, secret weapons with infinite ammo. That sort of stuff. Usually, though, I rely on a good handgun or two, like my brother's Samurai Edge. What about you? You seem to carry a lot in that coat.
Hellboy: Well, it's your usual monster-killing stuff. Brimstone Grenades, Valisia's Gift, Agrippa's charms, but most of the time, I often rely on my Good Samaritan. I'm not a good shot, but it uses really big bullets.
Ruby: What rounds do you even use for them to be that big? That sounds like something that my Crescent Rose uses.
Hellboy: I usually use custom-made 22 millimeter Whoppers. Made them, myself. Holy water, clove leaf, silver shavings, white oak...the works.
Heavy: Hmph. Not much to be of use for Sasha.
Hellboy: Yeah? What rounds do you use?
Heavy: BIG.
Claire: Are we talking .300 Weatherby Mag?
Heavy: Bigger.
Ruby: .50 Cal?
Heavy: Bigger than .50 Cal. They are handmade, custom-tooled cartridges with classified diameter.
Hellboy: Geez. Why's that?
Heavy: So enemy cannot use ammunition...but Sasha can chew through THEIRS.
Ruby: That sounds...SO. COOL! Love
Heavy: *nods* I think so.
--------------------------------------------------
Hellboy: *To Ruby* So, Ruby, what's this "Crescent Rose" of yours? Some kind of a gun?
Ruby: Oh, my sweetheart is more than just a gun. It's a customizable, high-impact sniper rifle that's also a mechanical scythe. It pretty much uses .50 Cal bullets built with Dust.
Hellboy: *cocks a brow, unimpressed* Dust.
Ruby: Fire Dust, Ice Dust, Electric Dust...I can use Gravity Dust to launch myself like a missile. And if there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I'm not slow.
Claire: You just "launch" yourself with your gun? That sounds...dangerously irresponsible.
Heavy: I know of this. Soldier does this with rocket launcher all the time.
Ruby: Yeah, but I usually have a semblance, or "superpower", to use speed. I usually do this to outpace monsters WAY bigger than me! I move around like a blur!
Hellboy: So, your world has weapons that are also guns, bullets that use magic, and you fight monsters bigger and deadlier than you.
Ruby: Yeah! Killing monsters is the coolest thing to do in the world! *Realizes it's Hellboy* Oh. Um...I hope I didn't offend you.
Hellboy: Offend me? *He smirks, genuinely excited* You just made my winter!
Tumblr media
Summary: After a year of being together Tyler breaks it off unexpectedly. The reader having flashbacks from their relationship and imagining their relationship can rekindle.
• Aged up to 18!
Warnings: Cussing, NSFW indications,
Lmk if I missed something :)
Based off of Skip This Part by Alexandra Kay
We pulled up to the gate, Tyler has been distant this entire time. He says nothings wrong, but I know somethings up. My suspicions were confirmed when he took his hand off mine and kept his eyes on the floor.
I swallowed a thick lump in my throat. I knew I've seen this movie before. He reached up and cut the engine off.
"We need to talk," He said simply.
No eye contact. No yelling. Nothing. I felt frozen. I didn't know what to do. Should I beg? Should I scream? Should I cry?
"I think we should break up," he kept turning the knife.
I nodded slowly and looked out the windshield, the Nevermore gate seemed extremely satisfying. A million thoughts ran through my brain. All I wanted to do was go inside and forget him. I just sat there.
He opened his mouth to speak, but I couldn't hear him. I just wanted to skip this part.
I'm not going to break down and beg him to stay, but all I could think about is how this isn't fair that I have to be in pain and he gets off scot-free. I just want to skip this part.
~~~
I got out of the car, no words and started walking to my dorm. Not caring if anyone caught me, as I was out past curfew. I went upstairs to my room and peaked out my curtains, knowing I can see the gates from there. His taillight fading in the distance.
I didn't know what to do. A year of my life... wasted. I thought he was the one for me. He still is, isn't he? He has to be.
"Y/n?" My roommate called from her desk seeing my face, "Are you okay?"
I went over to my closet and grabbed one of Tyler's shirts, it still smelled like him. Tears began flowing and I couldn't stop them this time. It felt like someone reached into my chest and is squeezing my heart as hard as they could. I remember the day I got this shirt.
I went with Enid, Xavier, and some other friends to look for an outfit to wear to a dance Nevermore was holding. The theme was 80's. I wanted to surprise Tyler with a proposal to the dance and I couldn't have been more excited. I had my gift ready and a neon green colored bandana as the "bow". Best I could do.
"I'll meet you guys later! I'm going to go see Tyler at the Weathervane!" I waved.
A series of "later" and "bye, y/n" was heard as I crossed the street and went to where the cutest curly haired boy worked. I walked in and I heard "Welcome to Weathervane!"
I looked behind the counter to see him. He hadn't noticed me yet as he was in the middle of making someone a coffee.
I went and stood in line wanting one for myself, since I'm already here. He turned and said, "What can I-."
He stopped when he saw me, a huge smile erupted on his face, "Let me guess... iced cold brew, caramel on the side, sweet cream cold foam on top with extra caramel."
I nodded and handed him a $10 bill. He shook his head. I rolled my eyes and stuck it in the tip jar.
"How's your day been, Ty?" I asked stepping out of line over to the pick up counter.
"It's been good. Great now that you're here!" He winked.
"When do you get off?" I asked blushing a bit.
"At three today, but I have a break in about 15 minutes," he said handing me my coffee.
"Great because I have something to discuss with you," I teased and walked away knowing there was a slightly scared look on his face.
"Can't you just tell me now?" He shouted as I picked a booth.
"Nope!" I shouted back sipping my coffee.
Over the next 15 minutes I knew he kept looking at me. Poor guy, a million things probably ran through his head. However, I knew he was going to love this.
He eventually came over and I sat down my phone, which I was using to read a book, "I can't take it anymore. I'm actually going crazy. Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry, I don't know what it is... but I'll do better next time, I swear! Just please don't break up with me!"
My heart broke. I got up and went over to his side of the booth and turned his face kissing his nose, "Ty, I'd never dream of doing that to you. I wanted to ask you something. Nevermore is having an 80's themed dance and I wanted to know if you'll go with me?"
I grabbed the gift and pushed it in front of him.
He sighed a breath of relief and smiled at the gift, grabbing the bandana and putting it on his head, "How do I look?"
I laughed, "Cute! As always, now open it!"
He opened the gift and saw the newest record for a band that he loves. I knew he'd been wanting it, so I got it for him. His jaw about hit the floor.
"Are you serious?" He asked, "Is this real?"
"As a heart attack!" I giggled.
He tackled me in a hug and in doing so knocked my coffee over and it spilled onto my shirt.
"Oh shit! I'm so sorry, y/n," he said grabbing napkins to help me clean it.
"It's just a shirt, Tyler," I laughed.
I continued to wipe up the spilled drink off the table and the floor.
"Hold on," he ran into the back.
I looked confused but went to throw away the napkins, instead of following him. He came out holding one of his favorite shirts.
"Here. You can go in the restroom and put it on," He suggested.
"No Tyler. That's your favorite shirt! It's just a little coffee. I'll be okay."
He gave me a look, pleading with me to just accept it, "My favorite shirt for my favorite person!"
I sighed, "Fine. Only because you're just too sweet and I just so happen to have a sweet tooth!"
I went and change into it. It's quite big on me, but my favorite part, it smelled just like him! I hugged myself and giggled like a little kid on Christmas.
I came out to see him sitting at the table and he made eye contact with me. A smile consumed his face and he stood up coming over and grabbing my hips.
"And look at that, my second favorite thing to see you in," he winked.
"Oh yeah? And what's the first?"
He leaned down, kissed my nose and pressed our foreheads together, "My arms."
That day, we haven't said it yet, only being together 6 months at this point, but I knew this day, this moment, I loved him.
I put on the shirt and turned off my phone seeing a message from Tyler, not bothering to read it. I threw it on my bed and went into the bathroom.
I shut and locked the door. I didn't have the energy to stand anymore so I slid down it. I tried to control my breathing, in-out-in-out... couldn't do it, so I let loose. I began to sob uncontrollably. I don't know how long I was there or when I fell asleep on the bathroom floor, but I did.
I woke up the next day and still on the floor of the bathroom. I went out and grabbed my phone, keeping quiet because my roommate was still asleep. I turned it on and saw 1 message from Tyler.
   I choked back a sob and opened it.
Ty: I'm sorry.
   I can't take it. I stood up and looked in the mirror. My face was swollen and crusted dried tears remained on my face. I grabbed my cleanser and began washing my face.
(If you have short hair or braids, this is your line)
   I didn't even bother adjust my hair as today wasn't a day to care.
(If you have long hair or if you're able to put it this way, this is your line)
   I threw my hair into a messy bun as today wasn't a day to care.
   I didn't do any sort of makeup or skincare. I'm just going to class and coming back.
   I arrived in Ms Thornhills class, thankfully we were learning about a plant I already knew quite a bit about as I did a project on it earlier this year. The corpse flower. I didn't really pay attention as I didn't need to. All I could think about is Tyler. As I kept thinking, my sorrow turned to anger.
   Now I had questions for him, not for myself. Why did he do it? That entire night he was off. If he had an issue with me or with something I said or did, why didn't he say something? I'm confused. And most of all, I'm pissed. I decided I'd confront him today. Twenty four hours later, but it's never too late, in my opinion.
   After classes were over and an abundance of questions from my friends concerned about me, a short answer in return, "Tyler dumped me." I walked, 25 minutes to his house. When I got there his dads truck wasn't there, but I looked up at his bedroom window and saw the light on. He was home. I stood in the street, now questioning my decision. I guess I didn't really want to know after all because I just kept walking. I walked to the Weathervane and saw Xavier in line getting coffee.
   "Y/n!" He smiled.
   I sadly smiled back. His smile turned to one of pity. He came over and gave me a hug. I immediately broke down. I'm usually fine when I'm sad, but the second someone shows signs of affection, I'm done for. He slowly walked us over to a booth in the far corner.
"I don't know what I did. I don't know what happened. He didn't even say why. Maybe he did, I'm not sure. As soon as he said he didn't want to be with me anymore my ears stopped working. I never thought I'd have to feel this pain. I didn't think it would hurt this badly," I said into his chest.
"You did nothing, Y/n. It's not your fault. Especially when you two were perfectly fine until literally yesterday. Three days ago you two were fine at movie night. Something had to have happened with him," Xavier explained.
My mind began racing at what it could've been that happened with him. My mind went back to movie night.
Three days ago Tyler was hosting a movie night at his house. His dad had a late shift and said he could have some friends over. And me, of course, as I was over all the time.
I just finished setting up the table of snack boxes. Each box contained; a serving of popcorn, m&m's, gummy bears, and on the side we have a various number of sodas to choose from.
Tyler came over and hugged me from behind, "Thank you for your help! I don't know what I would've done without you!"
I turned around and wrapped my arms around his neck and his did the same to my waist. I kissed him softly. He deepened the kiss and it became heated. His lips were always so soft. His curls between my fingers was always my favorite part of our make out sessions. He trailed down to my neck and I bit back a moan.
"Tyler, they'll be here any minute," I said as he tried leaving a mark.
He groaned and stopped his antics, "We could be quick."
A knock sounded at the door, I smirked at him, "Not that quick."
I laughed and pushed him slightly back and went to open the door.
Enid, Xavier, Lucas, Eugene, Ajax all stood there laughing and messing around. Wednesday just stood there staring at them unamused. They started to walk in and smile at me as they did so. Except for Wednesday, which we were all used to by now, it wasn't personal.
We all piled up in the living room. I ran over to the table and grabbed two snack boxes, one lemonade for myself, and one Dr Pepper for Tyler. Everyone else followed picking their snacks and squeezing on the furniture with blankets.
I sat on the love seat with Tyler and we shared my favorite blanket. It was a soft emerald green blanket that Tyler got me for my our one year anniversary. He grabbed his snack box and kissed my cheek wrapping an arm around me.
We watched Dumplin' because we wanted to surprise Enid, she had a hard last couple of weeks with her parents continuously being on her back about phasing. She squealed as she saw the movie pop up.
The entire movie we snuggled. He kissed my head every now and then. My head fell on his chest and I listened to his beautiful heartbeat. It was perfect. He was perfect. He whispered things into my ear things that made me laugh, blush, cringe. We were normal. As happy as we were on day one.
Once the movie was over, everyone conversed a bit and then started heading out. It was late, 11:30. We waved everyone off. Once the door was closed Tyler pressed me against the wall and grabbed my throat softly.
"You're staying here tonight, we need to finish what we started earlier," Tyler huskily said, eyes darkened, almost animalistic.
All I could do was smirk back.
"I walked all this way to talk to him. I knew he was home, I just couldn't do it," I whispered into Xavier's chest.
"Why not?" He asked rubbing my hair.
"Because I don't wanna know why he fell out of love with me. Then I'll feel like I have to change that thing because I'm unlovable. If he can just wake up one day and decided he doesn't love me after a year and 3 months, anyone could at any time. My entire outlook on love is destroyed," I said still crying but not as hard.
I wanted to sob, to scream, to punch him in the face, to forget about him, to hurt him like he hurt me... but I couldn't do anymore right now. I felt so incredibly weak.
We heard the bell of Weathervane chime and the guy behind the counter welcome whoever it was. It shot me out of my trance. I pulled away from Xavier and smiled at him a little. He softly smiled back and then looked over my shoulder. His mouth slowly fell open and his eyes widened and looked between me and them. I furrowed my brows and turned around to see Tyler and Wednesday standing there. All Tyler could do was stare at me, wide eyed. As if he's seen a person rise from the dead. In my head I put the pieces together.
I stood up and looked between the two of them. Then I looked at Tyler one last time and shook my head and ran out of the Weathervane.
I heard Tyler's voice call after me, then Xavier's shout at him. I ran as far as I could in the direction of Nevermore. I wasn't crying, I wasn't sad, I was livid. I saw a glass bottle on the ground. I picked it up and threw it as hard as I could at a tree, but it wasn't enough.
"His stupid face! His stupid voice! He was with her! How could I have been so stupid?!?" I just screamed.
No one was around to hear me. Until I felt arms just wrap around me. I tried so hard to push this person off, but couldn't. I just fell to the ground. I grabbed onto that person for dead life. Someone cared for me, someone showed me love and affection when I feel like I didn't deserve any. I looked up and saw Xavier. I nuzzled my face into his chest and he rested his cheek on my hair.
We didn't say anything, once I was ready we both stood up quietly and made our way back to Nevermore. Xavier walked me to my room and helped me remove my shoes and I laid down in bed. He smiled at me and turned to leave.
"Xavier?" I spoke out, "Will... you stay?"
He nodded and came over lying next to me. I rested my head on his chest. He was my best friend after all. I'd do just about anything for him and I know he'd do the same for me.
It's been 5 days since Tyler broke up with me. Xavier has been checking up on me nonstop. Going as far as to have his friends I'm barely acquainted with remind me that I need to eat on his behalf. I had been avoiding Jericho since the night at the coffee shop, but today I was going to have to bite the bullet because I had an appointment with Dr Kinbott. Principal Weems had seen my mental decline and scheduled me an appointment.
After my appointment with her I felt slightly better, I decided I was going to come weekly. At least until I was over Tyler.
I swung open the door to Dr Kinbotts office leaving and almost hit someone with the door.
"Woah!" They shouted.
"Oh I'm so so-." I cut myself off seeing the one person who I'd been avoiding.
"Y/n," he said in shock, "You see Dr Kinbott too? Since when?"
"Since some jerk broke my heart. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get to fencing practice," I said walking over to Principal Weems car as she was the one who drove me.
"I miss you," he called out.
I froze and turned around aggressively to face him, "Good. At least now I know I'm not the only one in pain."
I got in the car and we drove off. I looked in the side mirror, watching him watch me leave. He looked so sad. All I wanted to do was run into his arms, forgive him, take him back, but how could I do that to myself?
That whole interaction gave me déjà vu to the day I met Tyler.
I was walking with Enid and Yoko around Jericho it was the holidays and we were volunteering to help decorate the town and shops if they'd allow us to. I had the idea to ask Dr Kinbott if we could set up a mural and paint her display window. I ran over and just as I was about to open the door, it swung open and the supplies in my hands making me drop everything and the force was so big I lost my balance. However I didn't hit the ground as someone grabbed my wrist helping me regain my balance.
"I am so so sorry. Are you okay?" He said checking me over and getting on his hand and knees to help me pick up the supplies.
"Oh it's okay. I'm fine. No apologies necessary, I should've paid more attention," I said collecting some paint brushes.
We stood up and he handed me my supplies back. Then I saw him glance at my uniform. I internally cringed, knowing what might happen next.
"You go to Nevermore," he stated, "What're you guys up to this time?"
"Oh. We're helping to decorate the town for the holidays. Painting the windows, setting up trees and hanging lights. Making it look a little more, not like a prison," I laughed.
He laughed too, "Good! This town needs it!"
"I'm Y/n L/n, by the way," I held out my free hand.
"Tyler Galpin," he shook my hand.
"Galpin? Does sheriff Galpin happen to be your father? Or is it just a happy coincidence?" I smirked.
"Yeah. He's my dad. Do you know him? Get into trouble often?" He asked warily.
I raised a brow, "Maybe..."
We both laughed.
"No, I just came from the station. Asked if he'd be alright with us decorating it. Thankfully he said we have complete creative control," I explained with a giddy smile.
Tyler opened his mouth to speak but Dr Kinbott came out calling for him.
"You left your hat," she said handing it back, "Hello Y/n. How've you been?"
"I'm doing well. You?" I replied.
"Fantastic. I see you've met Tyler. I think you two would be great friends, just my professional opinion," she winked then walked back inside.
"Well Tyler, I hope to be seeing you again soon, but as of right now I have to go finish my volunteer work," I said kind of sadly.
"Well you can stop by the Weathervane later today, I work there. I hope to see you too," He smiled and we walked our separate ways.
   Waking up the next day alone was quite nice. Nicer than I had thought. I know its only been 6 days, but I have a village helping me through this. Even Bianca has asked if I needed anything.
   I went to see what was on my schedule for today, hoping it was something that would take my mind off of Tyler. To my disappointment, today was my free day for the week. I decided that I was going to go to the bookstore in Jericho. Thankfully, Tyler doesn't go to the bookstore. Every time I've asked him to come with me, he moaned and groaned the entire time and asked if I was finished every 30 seconds. The memory brought a sad smile to my face.
   On the way to the shuttle I ran into Xavier.
   "Hey! Where are you going?" He asked concerned.
   "Oh, I've decided to go buy a couple of books from the bookstore. There's a book that has just been released and I'm hoping they have it in stock!" I said rather excitedly.
   "Well I'm glad to see that smile back on your face," he said smiling back, "I've missed you!"
   "I owe it all to my bestie," I said playfully punching his arm.
   "Hey Y/n!" Enid yelled running over.
   "Hey Enid!" I smiled.
   "Listen, I have important news, the bookstore has the book we've been wanting in stock! They just got a shipment this morning! If I don't get my hand on that book I might die!" She panicked.
   I laughed, "Okay! Looks like I have a Buddy to come with my to Jericho! See you later Xavi!"
   We rode the shuttle and rushed off as quickly as we got on. I looked around for any sign of tyler and made a break for the library. We bursted through the door and made a be-line for the "Young Adult" section. I grabbed two books off the shelf and handed one to Enid and made our way to checkout.
   "Hey, wanna grab a coffee at Weathervane?" Enid smiled.
   I hesitated knowing who might be there, but agreed nonetheless. We got there and I peeked through the windows nit seeing Tyler behind the counter but someone else. My body relaxed. We went in and ordered our usuals and sat in a corner booth. The same one Xavier and I sat in.
“How’ve you been?” Enid asked as if she was walking on eggshells.
“I’m better. I really do have some amazing friends. Without you all I don’t know what I would do,” I smiled at her stirring my coffee with a straw.
“I know this may be a sensitive question, but if he were to ask, would you get back with him? I only ask that because I’m trying to put myself in your shoes when it comes to Ajax. I feel like I’d take him back,” she shrugged.
“I don’t know Enid. I don’t even know why he broke up with me,” I said sadly.
“You didn’t ask?”
I shook my head.
“Maybe… when the time is right… you can get your answers. And who knows, maybe he will come to you. Just give it time,” She smiled sympathetically.
We went back to Nevermore and I felt so much better than I have this entire week. Maybe it was today, and I know grieving looks different every day, but it was nice not to cry for one day. Hopefully tomorrow will be the same.
I woke up excited for the day as today was supposed to be the day Nevermore students started decorating Jericho for the holidays. I looked outside and I immediately became disappointed… it was pouring.
I look in the distance to see a red car and what seems to be two people arguing. I watched for a minute trying to remember where I’ve seen that car. The only person that could come to mind was Tyler. I heard my phone vibrating. I went over and read the caller: Tyler Galpin.
I gasped as all the pieces fit together. I hesitated. I also don’t have much time to make a conscious decision.
I answer:
Y/n: hello?
Tyler: Thank god! I didn’t think you were going to answer. Come outside! To the gate please!
Y/n: I’m not sure that’s a good idea, Tyler.
Tyler: I’ll give you 10 minutes, if you don’t come in ten, I promise I’ll leave and you’ll never hear from me again.
He hung up. I then get a text:
Xavier: Don’t come outside!
They’re the two arguing at the gate. My curiosity is saying “go see what he wants”. My gut is telling me that I’ve been getting better without him in my life, why start over?
I get another text:
Tyler: I’m so sorry. I love you!
I ran out the door and down the stairs. No shoes, no jacket, nothing. I ran down the drive and stopped as soon as I got about 5 yards from him. I look up and squint as the rain seems to pour harder.
“You came!” He said with a slight smile.
“You broke up with me than came crawling back saying you love me… my curiosity got the better of me,” I said crossing my arms as the rain was quite cold.
“Y/n, I’m sorry. I didn’t want to break up with you!”
“Then why did you?”
“I was scared! I mean look at you! You’re perfect! You’re headed off to college next year and I’ll be left behind, forgotten. Just a distant memory of a boy in a shitty small town everyone wants to forget!” He explained.
“You could’ve just spoken to me! Asked me how we were going to make it work! Told me your fears! I wouldn’t have laughed, or make you feel stupid! They’re valid feelings and thoughts to have!” I explained.
“I want to marry you, Y/n! I want to spend the rest of my life with you! I want to see you fulfill your dreams and peruse your passions! I want to love you through all your changes! And most importantly I want to be the one you love! This week has been hell for me! I’ve barely eaten, I haven’t slept much…”
“You seemed pretty okay when you and Wednesday were together,” I said bitterly.
“She came over asking for my help and then told me I looked like hell. I asked her to sit with me while I slept because I kept having nightmares. I’m not in love with her… I’m in love with you! I understand if you don’t want me anymore, I ripped your heart out with no explanation, but I-.”
I cut him off by running at him and tackling him in a hug. He fell to his knees holding me with a heavy sigh, as if a weight fell off his back.
“Does this mean we’re back together?” He asked tears running down his face.
“Yeah!” I said matching him.
He pulled me into a passionate kiss. A kiss I’ve been longing for.
Then I remembered… this isn’t some fairytale…
~~
“Y/n?” I heard Tyler’s voice, “Please say something.”
“Have a nice life Tyler,” I whispered because I was afraid if I didn’t I’d breakdown.
I got out of his car and walked through the Nevermore gate.
Can we just skip this part?
Where you drive away
And I don't know what to do
And I watch your taillights fade
In a shirt that smells like you
Then cry on the floor in the dark
Can we just skip this part?
Where I convince myself
There's no one else for me
And find any excuse
Just to drive down your street
Cut to when cuts fade to scars
Can we just skip this part?
