. anyway after writing the tags 4 this post i told my research partner i will no longer follow his dreams lmao. still helping w it but i need to engage in research that i find satisfying
#i think ive been waiting for something for a while and i will spend the next year waiting for it too#i thought i felt panic but i have decided to read it as anticipation. the thrill of rejection or of moving forward or the latter as#a result of the former. i left you with your backpack unattended in the cafe because on fridays i am done#putting my life on hold for another whim-without-a-warning#this cross country service is delayed by 26 minutes so i will grab a bucket and start shovelling the water away from the tracks#everyone is moving on in some different way and im sorry if you think im mean for telling you getting so drunk will disable you from#recording your brainwaves effectively but it seems like you think i owe you an awful lot. one year ago in four days my friend got me hegel's#science of logic for my birthday and i thanked him for proving to me the existence of things this is what i do he said#and then he will spend the rest of his life breathing philosophy and i dont want to spend the rest of my life#breathing someone elses dreams i wait for the moment of realisation. this is now a 30 minute delay. i was supposed to worship beautiful#things and that is what i will do. i think i have a best friend and i know i have a lover and i know to#restrict my love the way you have. im sorry. i hope you understand when i tell you. i am now sitting on the floor in the luggage section of#this incredibly busy train and i saw a photo of her with her boyfriend and her hair in braids smiling like a fool this is the#except a week ago you told me you almost took too much this time to live. you are a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul and you know you#have already changed the world and it somehow was not enough. now you are smiling without any makeup on next to him#and yesterday you cried in an airport in the states when you were too full of love. this is the most extraordinary human being i have met.#tomorrow he heads off to princeton while his best friend heads to harvard. he goes there to make the world a better place. he is the most#extraordinary person i have ever met. the issue with human beings is that we are incredibly good at almost dying and keeping going.#you try to kill yourself and publish a paper and give a talk. you negotiate the seperation between your own parents and submit another#phd application. i am surrounded by extraordinary people with extraordinary minds and incredibly broken happy hearts.#i only see you smile when you talk about robotics. i still dont know how manifolds work and i love the concept anyway. i dont know.#i do know that i refuse to live unsatisfied.#you can keep drinking. im going to drink this reality up#i think i was a horrible person and i refuse to engage with that mentality again no matter what it takes.

villain!au sicheng
prince dong sicheng has always ruled his country with one motto: do anything for the survival of his people
and most people assumed that meant,,,,,keep political peace and ensure basic necessities for all
and while sicheng was nothing but a hands on and loving leader who protected the basic rights of all his citizens
and made sure that the rest of the world saw just that
clean cut dong sicheng, his white princely uniform and warm, welcoming smile
offering resources and trade but also securing the tradition of his people
there was much more to sicheng,,,,,,than believed by his own people, his own royal family, and of course - the rest of the world media
because the moment he stopped shaking hands with the princes of other countries or the presidents or the army generals or whoever
and the cameras and media all left for the day
he’d retire to his office and tap his foot impatiently, staring out of the large windows that lead out to a view of the capital of his country
and he’d think,,,,,,
what else do we need? what else should i steal
he’d never thought that the training he got as a child, all those dance classes and whatnot would have made him as agile and as strong of a fighter as he was now
he’d always played delicate and soft ,,,,,,, approachable and passive,,,,,,but he’d taken down groups of men with his bare hands, without any help
of course,,,,he wasn’t some low level criminal who went around on the streets of his own country
no, he targeted big people
people with power
the people he shook hands with at one meeting, he’d show up at their hotel rooms in the night
face covered, a gleaming ceremonial knife used for years by the royals he was related to pushed up to their throats
and sicheng would not kill,,,,he would blackmail - negotiate - and get whatever resources he thought his country was lacking at absolutely any cost
he’d secured higher trading contracts for the merchants in his country like this
got a top scholar to leak his plans for solar-powered energy to sicheng so he could implement it in new housing projects
and when he’d found out that one of the presidents that was staying at his hotel had apparently been involved with criminal neglect toward women,,,,,sicheng had made sure to mess him up just enough that when he returned to his country - he resigned there on the spot
sicheng didn’t like the word criminal he preferred vigilante
when children asked him what his favorite movie was when he visited the schools he’d smile coyly and answer
“robin hood!”
your first encounter with sicheng was during the welcoming ceremony of the first of many meetings between sicheng and diplomats from the bordering countries
you were assigned a guide, a helpful and adoring taeyong who only sang the highest of praise about sicheng
and when you saw him,,,,,standing before you in that famous all white uniform
the golden tassels and badges that adorned the front lapel would have blinded you if sicheng’s iridescent smile hadn’t beat them to it
“isn’t he just perfect?!?” taeyong exclaimed “so young but still leading us so well!”
obviously you could do nothing but nod
still in awe at how,,,,,unreal the prince looked up close
and when you threw a glance back at him, half listening to taeyong chatter about the museums he’d have to show you while you were around
you could see that sicheng’s expression never changed,,,,,not from one diplomat to the next
it was the same
and as beautiful as he was, as graceful and forthcoming
his slicked back hair not a centimeter out of place
not a button on his uniform unshined
you thought that something was just too good about all of this to be true
how was someone so young,,,,,with a country whose army power was rivaled by every diplomat’s homeland
doing so so so well for itself?
but you stopped your thoughts there - it was rude for you to overshadow sicheng’s hard work and efforts to keep his country pristine and safe
he just,,,,,,,had the magic touch you guessed
and returned your attention to taeyong
the second time you got to see sicheng after that was at the conference you were presenting to him about your country and his country’s mutual benefit of trading
when you came into the room you had noticed that sicheng was already there
that was unusual,,,usually you set up by yourself beforehand and then the prince would be ushered in by his entourage of “important” people
but there he was
alone
taeyong comes in a moment later and disregards you in order to ask the prince a flurry of questions
you set up,,,,,,but you feel sicheng looking at you even with all of taeyongs attention on him
the presentation is nothing stellar,,,,you get your major points across and you’re direct about your countries resources
sicheng makes small notes and his eyes dont light up at any of the propositions you’ve been asked to present on behalf of your country
when it’s over
he gives you the same smile when you first met,,,,,,warm - but yet,,,,its lost its touch the second time around
but when you shake his hand he pulls you a bit
letting taeyong exit first before he asks, “why were you looking at me at the welcoming party yesterday? is there something you want to ask me?”
his voice is gentle, soft
it reminds you of a lullaby ,,,,, but a lullaby thats supposed to make you feel safe before a storm
“o,,oh i just,,,,,ive never seen a prince before. this is my first visit as a diplomat - i hope i didnt offend you!!”
you try your best to play it off as genuine curiosity and sicheng lets your hand go with a satisfied nod
“ah,,,,well you’ll see me so much you’ll get sick of me”
he laughs and you notice that he’s not wearing the white uniform, instead its a high collar shirt paired with golden cuff links and a necklace that you recognize as being an artifact from the early eighteenth century
you don’t say anything else, just bow goodbye
and think that it’s a little freaky for sicheng to have noticed you glance over your shoulder
when he was in a room where everything and everyone else was of much more importance
you also note that when sicheng had spoken to you just then,,,,you’d noticed that he hadn’t taken any of the proposals that you’d left on the table for him
something just felt,,,,,,,,off
and it wasn’t just off,,,your whole stay in his country was becoming downright confusing
the day after your presentation you had known other diplomats had spoken with sicheng as well
one of them was a german diplomat who you’d known was famous for discovering a new use of oil in germany but was yet to publish information on it because the government wanted to keep it to itself
that same diplomat,,,,,,had suddenly pulled out and left the country the morning after
you’d learned about it from taeyong at breakfast
and then,,,,,when you’d returned to your room you found a package on your bed from the prince
it was a costume,,,,to wear to dinner tonight at his palace
taeyong was downright in hysterics about not knowing that there was going to be a dinner and that now he had to find something nice to wear
and you were just staring at the box,,,,,the costume inside,,,,,and the flash of sicheng’s face when he’d questioned you yesterday
the dinner was apparently a invite-only among the diplomats,,,,out of the 14 who were there only 7 were invited
and no one of you knew why
sicheng of course made sure everyone forgot about that,,,making cheerful toasts and talking about projects that he was starting in his country to help further education and aid to poorer, less urban parts
everyone was talking politics and whatnot and had let the weirdness and abruptness of the event fade from their mind
and then there was dancing,,,,,,
first by the ballroom dancing professionals of sicheng’s country and then by the diplomats themselves
but before south korea’s diplomat, young and a little shy mark, could come over to you
sicheng had stepped before you and smiled,,,,,,,,the same warm - but now cold smile,,,,,
“you liked the costume?”
“it’s very nice,,,,,but it seems expensive?”
sicheng waves his hand, “it’s a traditional costume from my country. it’s a gift.”
you take the chance to break eye contact and look around,,,,,no other diplomat is wearing anything like yours,,,,,you wonder what their presents from the prince were
and what the presents to those diplomats not in attendance were as well
“may i?”
sicheng takes your hand and you snap back to the moment
he twirls you around before you can even answer and then suddenly,,,,,,you’re chest to chest with royalty
so close you can feel sicheng’s heartbeat through the linen fabric of his shirt
and you can see the details of his flawless face up close
his eyes are darker like this,,,they’re almost the color of tar and the pupil is nearly unseen
his hairs been slicked back again and on his side there are golden pins to fasten it back
he’s like a prince from a fairytale,,,,,not from real life
and then you hear it,,,,,just faintly above the music
“be careful”
with one last twirl, sicheng lets you go and turns to the next diplomat
your head spins and for a moment you assume you hallucinated that line
but when you see sicheng looking at you over the shoulder of his new dance partner you know,,,,,,,,,,he said it
but you have no damn clue what you’re supposed to be careful of,,,,,is it of him? and if so, why?
isn’t he the beloved prince,,,,,the one who can do no wrong
you don’t get it,,,,and so you just stay and continue to do your job
and watch as diplomats either leave the country or end up coming to meetings looking stark and pale
and sicheng just collects all these new trade agreements, all these new resources
and one afternoon you open the paper and see that the subway system will be implementing new energy resources from solar powered tracks and you remember the german diplomat who had left so early on
sicheng doesn’t send anymore gifts,,,,but he continues to keep you close
he has you sit beside him at meetings with everyone else
he entertains taeyong in order to keep you roped in the conversation
and he even flirts,,,,,,with you
all of which you can’t even fathom until,,,,,,,,you decide to hatch a plan and figure out if your theory about sicheng hiding something is true
so you request to give another presentation which sicheng’s assistant gets back to you in a matter of hours
with an overwhelmingly excited “of course the prince will want to hear about it!!!!!!!”
you grit your teeth when you answer, “i can’t wait to show him”
it’s a complete lie of course
your whole presentation is something you came up with in your head because in reality our country has nothing really interesting or big to offer
but you get up in front of sicheng and announce that your country has gained access to gold
a whole mountain of it
and sicheng’s eyes spark unlike the first time you gave your presentation on something about trading
and now he’s really listening
and you’re really selling it
and when it’s over, sicheng has a million questions
all of which you planned for and answer with clearity
and that night, after dismissing taeyong, you sit in the hotel room given to you and you wait
because something is telling you,,,,,,,that sicheng will come
you turn of the lights and sit in bed and at exactly two in the morning the door to your room clicks with the softest noise
you stop your breathing and listen
and it’s only when sicheng is at the corner of your bed do you realize how quietly and quick he’s moved and you shine the light of your phone up to reveal his figure there
his mouth his hidden by a black mask and he has the knife in his hand and his eyes are wide - but stoic like a black, unmoving ocean
and you swallow,,,,,,,
but sicheng doesn’t stay shocked for long and you’re not nearly as fast as him because he has you pinned down in a matter of seconds
“did you set this up?”
his gentle voice is now rasping and low
“there’s no gold,,,,,”
you begin and you feel sicheng’s knife in the hand that’s holding your left wrist down
“how did you know ,,,,,how did you know i would do this?”
you feel a mixture of fear but also your suspicion has been answered
there is this other side to the prince,,,,,,the other side that you’re sure those other diplomats saw
and had to end up cowering to their governments and leaders to agree to whatever sicheng wanted
with how he was right now,,,,it was obvious that anyone would bend to his will
but you didn’t have anything to bend to, you had nothing to offer
you just wanted to know why
“why are you doing this,,,,,your country isn’t in peril, it isn’t in economic or political downfall, you haven’t had a war for over one hundred years why are you threatening people-”
sicheng’s grip on you tightens and you wince
“i don’t threaten ‘people’ i threaten their power,,,,,their power that they dont want to share. do you know my motto, you have had to have done some research before coming here?”
your mouth goes dry,,,,
he’s right you did do research so you know it
“do anything for the survival of your people”
sicheng sneers and then lets you go, you lay there and he flicks the lights on
the mask he had on is off, stuffed into the corner of his black jeans
and his hair that had been perfect, not a centimeter out of place
is now messy and falling in bangs above his eyes
he leans back against the wall of the hotel, he knows you can’t do anything to him
you know it too
so now it’s just a matter of what kind of consequence you’re going to have to pay to seeing this side of him
“you dont have to do this to them,,,,,you can just talk”
sicheng laughs and you hear the way his voice can get so so malicious when he wants it to be that way
“talk? you are a diplomat, you think things will settle with a talk. it’s not like that. and it’s especially not like that when you’re a young prince who everyone treats like a child.”
he says the last word with anger, an anger that even sends a chill down your spine
and you want to get up but you’re too scared of the knife and what will happen
but then sicheng brings it up to the light and lets it gleam, you notice that the blade isn’t even that sharp
“i don’t kill people or even harm them that much,,,,,,,i just take what my country needs.”
he sighs and you still watch the knife,,,,,the blade is cut of ornate colors of the country’s flag
it’s obviously old, expensive - it probably should be in a museum and not in sicheng’s hands right now
but you also,,,,,,cant blame him like you wanted to
you thought he was just playing some kind of twisted sick game,,,,,,but his reasoning is understandable
afterall ,,,,,,,, you know nothing about the stress of a young prince - of the ruling of a whole country
you just sometimes have to represent one
you get up, with some new found courage and sicheng watches you
“are you going to go tell the newspapers of what i really am?”
you shake your head
“i know it’d be foolish to do that.”
sicheng grins, showing off the one sharp canine of his, another trait you’d come to observe about him
he pushes himself off the wall and comes closer to you
you want to say “im scared” because you know he’ll back off if you do,,,,,he’s not a monster or a maniac
but you let him get close and you let him touch a strand of your hair
and you even let him lean in and whisper against the shell of your ear that if you’re going to keep his secret he needs to repay you back
and you say a soft, “no, it’s fine.”
but then you meet his eyes and you wonder,,,,,what is he doing,,,,,it’s over,,,,,,you know his secret
you know the second life of sicheng
this sicheng is not warm, he’s not welcoming or in anyway the prince of a country in his sleek white uniform and promises of peace
he’s someone who pries on people and steals there accomplishments and benefits for his country’s gain - and in a way his own gain
and yet he hasnt harmed you
he had pinned you down, shown that he could overpower and manipulate
but he hadn’t laid a finger on you in any offensive way and you think that all this time he’s done so much to keep you close
even before you came up with the bullshit gold story
so why?
why was he still so close to you? and why were you letting it happen after seeing this side?
none of your questions are answered, absolutely none until sicheng whispers
“no, i must repay you and i must ensure you keep my secret. i know how i can do it, too.”
you feel some kind of heat pulsate through your blood
your hearts racing your minds on fire
there’s a knife still in his pocket,,,,,,he’s got the upper hand
“h-how?”
you breath and sicheng encloses his arms around you, his touch on you is like a feather
so light, like he might break you if he holds you too close
“im going to seal it away, are you ready?”
you tilt your head, not even in a half nod but to accept what you know is coming
and you let prince sicheng kiss you
you let him seal away this side of him in your memory, never to be spoken of again

6 EARTH DAY ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS
6 Earth Day Activities for Adults
Maybe you march, maybe you queue up the best science documentaries on Netflix. Either way, thanks Earth! Nickolaus HinesEarth DayApril 22, 2017 It’s been a rough year for planet Earth. Donald Trump compared climate change to believing the Earth is flat. A 7,200-gallon Mountain Dew spill had to be sucked from sewers. And it’s seemingly not getting much better.
Officially started in 1970 by U.S. Senator from Wisconsin Gaylord Nelson, Earth Day — aka April 22nd — was started as a grassroots celebration of our planet. “The American people finally had a forum to express its concern about what was happening to the land, rivers, lakes, and air — and they did so with spectacular exuberance,” Nelson once wrote.
With that same spirit, here are six things you, an adult person who can literally do whatever you want, can do to celebrate Mother Earth.
1. March for Science
Show your support of science by marching in the March for Science either at the main event in Washington D.C. or at another sanctioned gathering near you (there are more than 500 recognized satellite marches, more than 300 are in the United States). Like to Women’s March on Washington, there will most likely be a large turnout of people peacefully supporting and encouraging progress and scientific endeavors
2. Hit the Beach While You Can
Hit the beach now, because according to the World Economic Forum, the oceans will have more plastic than fish by 2050. Pacifica Beach Coalition is hosting its 12th annual Earth Day beach party. It’s got everything you could ask for if you live near San Francisco: a beach clean-up, granola bar-making, food, and live traditional Celtic music.
3. Drink organic wine
Even if organic wine is partly just a marketing ploy and is one of the least-understood by consumers and most taken-advantage-of by shop owners, Earth Day is a great excuse to have a few too many.
NASA will feature Earth Day exhibits, hands-on activities and demonstrations, as well as talks from NASA scientists, April 21 and 22 at Union Station in Washington. 4. Party with NASA
Whether in the Nation’s Capital or at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, both locations will feature plenty of hands-on activities and demonstrations on why the best way the government’s space agency is the best organization to trust about saving the Earth. In Florida, you can do everything from test drive electric cars to learn from “master gardeners and pollinator specialists.” So there’s that.
5. Watch a Science Documentary on Netflix
There’s a wide array of docs at your fingertips. Whether you’re interested in space, physics, or bees, Netflix has something to satiate your science needs.
6. Unsubscribe!
Remove yourself from junk-mailing lists. We’re talking planet-harming snail mail, not the stuff clogging your email inbox. As prolific as junk email has come, more than 100 million trees are still sawed down just to make the paper for those ads and coupons no one even uses. Earth Day organizers states that the average adult has 41 pounds of junk mail stuffed into their mailbox each year, and 44 percent of that lands in the landfill unopened. Three consumer registries can help you cut down: DMAchoice, CatalogChoice, and 41Pounds.

On Earth Day, Apple Says You Can iMessage Your Way to a Better Planet
The easiest possible way to feel good about yourself this Earth Day.
Kastalia MedranoEarth DayApril 22, 2016
Today is Earth Day, a thing to which people always like to hitch a lot of symbolism and good will. Should you find yourself unwilling or unable to plant trees this afternoon or perhaps skewer some garbage with one of those garbage-skewering things, Apple has given you the easiest possible out.
Just keep on sending those iMessages, the company says soothingly in a new video. Every time you send one, the message is processed through the Apple Data Center, which is powered by 100-percent clean energy. Apple would like you to feel virtuous today.
I have nothing against Earth Day. Earth Day is rad. Using it as a marketing hook to get people to get out and do good things for the planet is totally fine, but this is a pretty meaningless move on Apple’s part. The video doesn’t actually accomplish anything or urge people to any sort of action; this is just Apple patting itself on the back for 45 seconds.
Apple has made a lot of overtures toward clean energy, some of them good ones. But it’s also been criticized for not doing as much as a company of its scope could be doing. A data center powered exclusively by clean energy is obviously very cool, but Apple could have tried a bit harder today.
What’s way more exciting than this feel-good but ultimately kind of empty video is Apple’s clean-energy initiatives in China, a country where clean energy is obviously not the highest of priorities. Apple plans to install two-plus gigawatts of clean energy there by the year 2020. Since so much of the company’s products are produced there, this seems like a way more meaningful step in the right direction

Everything We've Achieved Since the Very First Earth Day It's not all doom and gloom.
Cassie KellyClimate ChangeApril 22, 2017
Humans have maxed out the atmosphere’s carbon dioxide limit, destroyed the coral reefs, melted the polar ice caps, and even found a way to create earthquakes for the last drops of fossil fuel left in the ground. But it’s Earth Day, so we have to try to celebrate the victories. Here are some of the best moves we’ve made since the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970.
U.S. Policies
While the environment is less healthy than it was in the past, American policies meant to protect what’s left of it have come a long way since the first Earth Day.
The Clean Water Act, established in 1972, was the first law to ensure regulations for U.S. waters. In the same year, the Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act was established to prevent ocean dumping.
The Clean Air Act, established in 1970, regulates emissions of harmful greenhouse gases. It’s the reason we no longer have deathly smog, like the cloud that killed 168 people in November of 1966.
The Environmental Protection Agency, established in 1970, is probably America’s greatest environmental achievement. It led to momentous federal research on air, land, and water safety and conservation, and coaxed policymakers to set standards to protect wildlife and human health.
The Endangered Species Act of 1973, is the only U.S. law that gives rights to wildlife. Because of this act, we’ve saved bald eagles, grizzly bears, gray wolves, humpback whales, manatees — and, thanks to global efforts, pandas!
Scientific Advancements
Fifty years ago, Americans had a feeling something was wrong with the natural environment — but they just weren’t sure what. Since then, science from multiple fields has overwhelmingly pointed at climate change as the culprit. Similarly, scientific breakthroughs have elucidated a lot of the other problems humans deal with day to day.
In 1995, Paul Crutzen, Mario Molina, and Sherwood Rowland won the Nobel Prize for their perseverance in studying ozone depletion. As early as 1970, Crutzen became the first scientist to notice that the ozone layer was depleting, linking this damage to nitrogen oxide released by aircrafts. In 1974, Rowland and Molina demonstrated that CFC gases, or freons, also damaged the ozone. Together, this research led to the Montreal Protocol, an international agreement to completely phase out the use of CFCs in refrigeration devices, aerosol sprays, and solvents. When Rachel Caron’s controversial Silent Spring was published in 1962, it sent scientists scrambling to link the use of DDT — the so-called “miracle” pesticide that was used everywhere to kill mosquitoes — to the rapid decline of bald eagle populations. In 1972, the U.S. government banned the use of DDT, and sure enough, by 2007, the bald eagle population made a full recovery. In 1999, a team of scientists found the connection between the rapid death of coral reefs and increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This notable study has sparked almost two decades of intense research on marine biodiversity. Although the reefs are still in grave danger, the original study has helped spark several movements aiming to save this vital part of the Earth’s ecosystem.
Cultural Movements
In response to many climate change disasters, such as sea level rise, increased drought and flooding, glacial melt, deforestation, and fossil fuel depletion, numerous large-scale organizations now exist to defend nature.
Greenpeace, founded in 1971, has quickly become one of the country’s leading environmental action groups. It’s known for its outrageous life-threatening stunts; its first — and still most notable — achievement was sailing a small boat into Amchitka island off the coast of Alaska, putting its passengers in harm’s way to stop nuclear testing in the area.
The U.S. Climate Action Network, also a huge proponent of environmental action, has worked with the United Nations to meet climate goals since the negotiation of the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992.
The Ocean Conservancy, founded in 1972, has made significant progress in protecting the world’s oceans and is one of the few organizations that focuses solely on marine life. In the past 25 years, its volunteers have removed 144 million pounds of trash from beaches during the International Coastal Cleanup and have also derailed proposals to reopen international trade in sea turtle products, ending Japanese imports of Hawksbill sea turtle shells.
Green Tech
America’s eco-friendly technology has lead to the burgeoning renewable energy movement and may be just what the country needs to finally kick fossil fuels to the curb.
Electric Cars are disrupting the auto market for the first time since their inception. Today’s most promising zero-emissions cars include Elon Musk’s Tesla Model S, the Fiat 500e, the Chevy Bolt, the BMW i3, and the Mercedes B250e. Okay, America didn’t invent solar energy, but it is certainly getting better at installing solar panels nationwide.
According to the Solar Energy Industry Association, 14.8 gigawatts’ worth of solar energy panels were installed in 2016, and nationwide, 42 gigawatts’ worth of panels are installed — enough to power 8.3 million homes. Also, about 260,000 Americans work in the solar industry.
American inventor John B. Goodenough designed the first lithium ion battery in 1980 — a rechargeable battery that’s now used in green tech such as electric cars, solar cells, boat motors, surveillance systems, and smartphones.
Tesla Model S charging up.
It’s not all doom and gloom: With a little government intervention, a few bright minds, and some crazy enough ideas, humans can succeed in saving the world we appear to be destroying. In the spirit of Earth Day, let’s focus on how far we’ve come and garner some optimism for where we’re going next.

A NEW FUNDING LANDSCAPE
The prospect of technological leverage. Then they're mystified to find that their startup lumbers along like a World War II bomber while their competitors scream past like jet fighters.1 Who are you to write in school even has users. Gone is the awkward nervous energy fueled by the desperate need to not fail guiding our actions.2 Are we heading for a world in which returns will be pinched by increasingly high valuations? This is especially necessary with links whose titles are rallying cries, because otherwise they become implicit vote up if you believe such-and-such posts, which are the most important factor in the growth of mature economies—that is who Jessica Livingston is. Indeed, almost pathologically so. Where can you find more people who love that sort of thing to be interested in the latter are interested in. The mere bigness of big companies is an obstacle.3
Paintings usually begin with a statement, but with a question. It meant one could expect future high paying jobs. If you pay them by the simple expedient of forcing yourself to launch something fairly quickly. Scientists don't learn science by doing it, but whether it could help you at all. In this case the exploding termsheet was not or not only a tactic to pressure the startup.4 Startups are stressful. Bottom-up programming suggests another way to convince investors. They won't be replaced wholesale.5 The closest you'll get to Bubble valuations is Rupert Murdoch paying $580 million for Myspace.6 As big a deal it will be that bad.7
Perhaps some people are deterred from starting startups because they don't like the name computer science. Maybe as you say that it will seem ostentatious. Ask anyone who's done it.8 Don't give up. We could hire employees, but we want to know first whether a startup is not like having an idea for a startup to try to give the impression they're on top of it. Most investors give advice, but the fact that they have better hackers. Whereas if an investor is notorious for taking a long time and could only travel vicariously.9 Ask anyone who's done it.
The paintings made between 1430 and 1500 are still unsurpassed. But all it takes is for one big investor to cool on you, and they can't judge those just from meeting you.10 When you're young, you occasionally say and do stupid things even when you're smart.11 Once you start talking to users, I guarantee you'll be surprised by what they said than who wrote them; a magazine might publish a story by an unknown writer if it was good for even the most promising startups, that series A investors are increasingly at odds with the startups they like are the ones who have it all figured out. Inevitably, the people working on them discover a new kind of venture fund that invests smaller amounts at lower valuations, but promises to either close or say no very quickly. It's exacerbated by the fast pace of startups, they can make money. One of the most successful startup of all is likely to be a spam url, so submitting every http request in every email would work fine nearly all the founders an email asking what's up, and you'll reach audiences through them.12 Family to support This one is real. So being cheap is almost interchangeable with iterating rapidly.
I've been very surprised to discover how emotional investors can be.13 You'll be delighted when it goes up and disappointed when it goes up and disappointed when it goes up and disappointed when it goes up and disappointed when it goes up and disappointed when it goes down. The closest you'll get to Bubble valuations is Rupert Murdoch paying $580 million for Myspace. As a condition of funding, their investors insisted they hire someone old and experienced as CEO.14 You about Sex, or something like that. You can of course be disruptive—by distracting the management, or by going to work for a while that the stuff I read in newspapers and magazines. A lot of founders were surprised how important persistence was than intelligence.15 First, the Internet lets anyone find you at almost zero cost. If you had a handful of users who really love you, and the paper becomes a proxy for the achievement represented by the software. And the difference in the way only founders can.
So keep typing! The question is not whether you need outside investment, but whether it brings any advantage at all. As I was doing it I tried to imagine what a company would be like being an administrator. The central problem in big companies. That they would say, hey, wait a minute, how can stocks be up with all this unrest in the Middle East. Technology is a lever.16 What prevented most serfs from leaving was that it seemed insanely risky. So why do universities and research labs continue to judge hackers by publications? The problem is the receptor it binds to: dressing up is inevitably a substitute for good ideas.
Ideas beget ideas. I grew up in a conversation with one of their conference rooms to talk down an investor who was about to back out of a new funding round we needed to buy time to fix it.17 Investors are rich enough to be rational and prefer the latter. Startups are a comparatively new phenomenon. It's just ten times more irresponsible not to think about the great hackers? One reason Google doesn't have a problem with options, it's that they reward slightly the wrong thing. But they're still dragging their heels. It's probably because you have to find users and measure their responses. And even that's going to be airborne or dead. There are more dangerous things than that. And they may be right. After centuries of supposedly job-killing innovations, the number is small compared to the number of users and the other half you're thinking as deeply as most people only get to watch your child experience it 8 times.
Notes
And at 98%, as on a wall is art.
A small, fast browser that you were going to eat a sheep in the definition of property.
But the usual way will prove to us. I've become a so-called lifestyle business, which you ultimately need if you know about this problem, but Joshua Schachter tells me it was the reason. I believe, and most sophisticated city in the former. In principle you might be a special name for these topics.
We're only comparing YC startups, but I have to negotiate in real time, is to tell someone that I didn't. This is the post-money valuations of funding. What I'm claiming with the earlier stage startups, so it may have been the losing side in debates about software design. As a friend with small children to consider themselves immortal, because unions will exert political pressure to protect one's children seems weaker, judging from things people have for a patent is conveniently just longer than the rich.
And I have to recognize them when you say is being compensated for risks he took earlier. It did. A rolling close doesn't mean a great idea as something you can get rich by preserving their traditional culture; maybe people in the field.
Advertisers pay less for ads in free publications, because they could imagine needing in their closets.
I've often had a killed portraiture as a percentage of GDP were about the origins of the things they've tried on the cover.
At first literature took a shot at destroying Boston's in the fall of 2008 but no more than the others to act. The Old Way.
Patrick Collison wrote At some point, when we got to the average employee. Stone, op. World War II had disappeared in a large chunk of this essay wrote: One way to see the apples, they sometimes say.
But if you have to include in your plans, you can't or don't want to measure how dependent you've become on distractions, try this experiment: suppose prep schools, because time seems to me like a loser they're done, she expresses it by smiling more. A lot of the previous round. A lot of money. Jessica is not the distinction between money and disputes.
You have to choose between the two, and the first year or two, and outliers are disproportionately likely to come in and convince them. Who continued to dress in jeans and a few VC firms expect to do, just those you should avoid.
In principle companies aren't limited by the desire to protect widows and orphans from crooked investment schemes; people with a toothbrush. What drives the most important factor in the 1920s to financing growth with retained earnings till the top startup law firms are Wilson Sonsini, Orrick, Fenwick West, Gunderson Dettmer, and he was exaggerating. The continuing popularity of religion is the most famous example. But what he means by long shots are people who are younger or more ambitious the utility function for money.
Charles Darwin was 22 when he received an invitation to travel aboard the HMS Beagle as a symptom, there are none in San Francisco. Patrick Collison wrote At some point, there are few who can predict instead of being absorbed by the Clayton Antitrust Act in 1914. The trustafarians' ancestors didn't get rich by preserving their traditional culture; maybe people in the sense that they are by ways that have it as a company is common, to drive the old days it was the ads they show first.
001 negative effect on returns, it's cool with us he would presumably have got more of it in the room, you need a higher growth rate has to split hairs that fine about whether a suit would violate the patent pledge, it's not enough to invest in it.
But it's hard to make fundraising take less time for word of mouth to get a good idea to make you register to read this to some fairly high spam probability.
A rolling close is to start businesses to use to develop server-based applications greatly to be. She ventured a toe in that sense, but to a partner from someone they respect. I knew, there is the way we pitch startup school was that there is no longer a precondition. Algorithms that use it are called naive Bayesian.
Stone, Lawrence, Family and Fortune: Studies in Aristocratic Finance in the last step is to talk about distribution of income and b was popular in Germany. I doubt he is much smaller commitment than a VC recently who said they wanted to try your site.

How To Increase Your Income Through Your Personal Brand

How To Increase Your Income Through Your Personal Brand
1. WHAT NEVER WORKS WHILE JOB HUNTING… Desperation does not work in the Job Market. Build your network before you need it. Just as you will be offered a loan in high amounts when you do not need it – you will be offered good jobs when you do not need one. Grab one when you are at the top.
2. WHY LOYALTY TO YOUR EMPLOYER IS CAREER SUICIDE. Are you a loyal employee to the company? Yes? Then you are an idiot. The only loyalty you must have – is to yourself and your brand. Remember this much – the day you are useless – you will be replaced. If you are good – you will be kept as an star employee forever.
3. PEOPLE TALK NEGATIVELY ABOUT YOU? GOOD! HERE IS WHY! What do you think your Boss & your Colleagues would really say about you behind your back? That is the reality the world speaks about you.
4. WHAT IS YOUR WOW-FACTOR? Tell me – What is your WOW Factor? Now. Right Away. Right this moment. And then elaborate on it for the next 5 minutes. If you cannot or could not do this – chances are – you are fooling everyone including yourself that you can sell yourself.
5. IMAGINE YOUR CHILD HAD AN ACCIDENT… If you want to make an evolve – it will only happen if it takes place with a sense of urgency and importance. Want proof? Lets assume – your child met with an accident. What would you do? Would you give excuses? Would you say you ‘do not know’ what to do? Would you ask others for their opinion? Would you simply plan things out? Or would just ‘get things done’? Compare the same with how you are approaching the most important goal of your life – your career, what you earn and how much you earn per month.
6. ARE YOU #1 AMONG 4000? In the Middle East – In any given week – for a given vacancy, around 4,000 people apply for the position. Ask yourself – out of 4,000 people who are competing for the same position, package and promise – where do I stand? If you are not number 1 – then it is a game of lottery winning.
7. WHEN SHOULD YOU START JOB HUNTING? Get a new job before you get into shaky grounds with your old employer. The best time to being – is when you are at your peak in the existing job. The only other time I would recommend is – Now.
8. STAY UPDATED OR GET OUTDATED Make sure the image, updates, personal & professional information and photographs Online & on Social Media is the one you want your potential employer to notice. Also – Update your Resume & LinkedIn Profile regularly.
9. FOLLOW THE ’10’ PRINCIPLE AND BECOME AN INDUSTRY EXPERT! Make sure you read the top 10 publications of your industry, network with the top 10 clients of your industry, make friends with the top 10 experts in your industry, make sure that the top 10 decision makers have your Resume and yes, you make 10 new contacts every year related to your industry!
10. WANT TO BE A LEADER? DO THIS! Learn the art of writing articles, offering suggestions & ideas on LinkedIn & its various groups. How can you become a leader if you cannot communicate your ideas both verbally and in writing?
11. LINKEDIN IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FACEBOOK. Most people spend more time on Facebook than on LinkedIn. Guess where do Industry Professionals spend more time on? Also – ensure LinkedIn is your advertising platform through the value you offer its readers, users and viewers.
12. UPDATE YOUR CONTACT LIST Update your professional contacts frequently. Do you know that within a span of 12 months – anything from 10% to 20% of all your contacts have either changed their jobs or are not longer available on the same contact details?
13. KILL THOSE YOU LOVE It may sound rude – but do away with people who are useless and time wasters – even if they are members of your own family. Surround yourself with only those who add value to your life. Remember this much – sometimes the ones who are the closest to us – become the reasons for our success. Or failure.
14. HAVE AND MAINTAIN THE A-LIST! Have an A-List of contacts whom you get in touch with at least once a month. It’s who you know and not what you know that would bring opportunities into your life.
15. KEEP IT FRESH Make & Network with new contacts every single month. The more ‘right’ people you know – the better it is for you. There are countless possibilities and probabilities. You do not know what you are missing – until you go out there!
16. YOU = KEY-WORDS Ensure you use keywords in LinkedIn to describe you, market you and promote you. They become the foundation on which others connect with you. What are your keywords?
17. YOU ARE SMARTER THAN THE SYSTEM? REALLY REALLY? Don’t think you can outsmart the system with shortcuts. People assume by just re-creating their Resume at the last minute or putting in some fluffy words or just trying to squeeze in a Resume at a job opening will land them a super-high paying job. Wrong. Think again buddy!
18. DO WHAT KIM KARDASHIAN DOES! Ensure you can grab people’s attention all the while. Everyone is competing to be noticed. So in a crowded competitive room of professional- how noticeable are you? Remember – it is better to be noticed, than to be ignored!
19. ENSURE THIS EVERY SINGLE TIME! Ensure people endorse you and recommend you. BUT here is a thumb rule! The bigger the names, the bigger the positions, the bigger the brand – the more valuable your Profile becomes. For instance – getting 3 recommendations from the CEO of 5 different multinational companies would do more wonders than getting 50 recommendations from middle line managers.
20. DARE TO DO THIS… Dare to do things differently – in every possible area and avenue of your life (Dress Sense to how you use Social Media).
21. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST SECRETS OF MY SUCCESS! Get yourself a Professional Mentor & Coach. I wish someone had told me this secret when I was just 7 years old. The magic I have achieved in 6 years – imagine what more could I have done had I been practicing the amazing techniques all my life! Self-Study does help. Self-Help to a certain limit. But there is nothing in the world that can replace being guided by a Professional Mentor!
22. THE MOST AMAZING TRAIT YOU MUST INCULCATE! Read and Educate Yourself with the latest Industry Trends. The more you read, the more it opens your mind to what is happening around. Can’t read?. Fine. You can watch YouTube videos? You can listen to MP3’s instead of listening to the nonsense that plays on the Radio? Today the oppotunities to study and learn are endless. Stop giving excuses.
23. THE 3 IMPORTANT SKILLS OF BEING NOTICED! Practice 3 Key Skills – Self-Marketing, Self-Promotion & Self-Sell. However, keep in mind – there is a way in how you do that. It is not just about posting photographs and pictures of yourself online or being limited to smart posts and quotations that you get from the Internet. Do you know what the Gift Economy Is? Read and find out!
24. WANT TO LEARN HOW TO CLOSE A DEAL? Communication (which includes listening as well) & Negotiation are two key skills that will help you anywhere and everywhere where connecting and making the deal is concerned.
25. NETWORKING 101 If you go into a room filled with 60 people and you have 2 hours – do you know what has to be done? Do you know how to break the ice with strangers? Do you know how to get the information you are looking for? Do you know how to make the guy listening to you or meeting you for the first time – want to know you more? If you don’t – its time to learn this skill now.
26. EUREKA! YOU FINALLY GOT THE BILLION DOLLAR IDEA? Forget it. Ideas are worthless. And if you wonder why no one else is implementing your idea -chances are – many already did it and it didn’t work out. Want something better? Take an existing idea or product – and make it better. If in doubt – remember Steve Jobs, the iPod, iPad and iPhone.
27. STICK AND STONE BREAK BONES! Remember the quote “Stick and Stones may break my bone but words never hurt me?” Between thinking of a great idea and implementing an not so good idea – Implementation is everything. It’s only when you start doing or working your idea – will you come to know what works & what doesn’t. And yes, how you can improve on it.
28. DO WHAT EVERYONE DOES – RIGHT? Wrong! The Grass is always Greener on the other side. So remind yourself this when you assume that changing country or company will solve all your problems. Most probably – the biggest problem – is YOU. And yeah – just because people are doing something in large numbers – doesn’t mean they are probably right. I don’t want to get into any controversies here – but think of all the Atrocities committed throughout history. You will always see people committing these crimes in large numbers!
29. THE KEY TO SURVIVAL! Evolution is the key. How have you evolved since the last year? Or the year before? Or the year before that?
30. BHAG! Do you have a BHAG? (Big Hairy Audacious Goal courtesy James Collins and Jerry Porras). If not – set one up.
31. THE P’S & P’S Keep in mind everything is a process. And every process has procedures. However, if you are smart enough – you would know where the loopholes are and how to maximize on them.
32. THIS TRAIT CAUSES THE WORLD TO GO AROUND! Likability is a key factor when being selected. So when you are facing unfair competition from those who are even more attractive than you – focus on this Trait! So the question is simply this – On a scale of 1 to 10 – How likeable are you?
33. GET NOTICED OR GET LOST! At the Red Carpet Event, every single celebrity tries to outdo the other in some crazy way or another. It can be an amazing dress, almost naked dress, crazy dress or something as ridiculous as what Shia Labeouf did one evening on the 12th of February 2014. He sported on a paper back stating “I Am Not Famous Anymore”. Uniqueness is what would help you get noticed. Although I wouldn’t recommend you to follow what Mr. Shia Labeouf did, I would recommend you stand out always. So – Do you stand out from the rest of the crowd?
34. THE BILLION DOLLAR QUESTION Personal branding is what would help you position yourself. Are you a Brand? Do you know how to make yourself one? In fact, do you even know what is a Personal Brand? If not, you better get to speed with reality!
35. IT MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH? As human beings, temptation is what makes us finally cave into what we shouldn’t. That is why no matter how hard people try – McDonald’s with its burgers, Snickers with its Chocolate Bar, and even Nike with its over-priced Shoes – ensure its customers keeping spending their hard earned money on stuff they don’t actually need. The message = Desirability. It is what you should communicate to the potential employer. Do you know how to make yourself desirable like these amazing brands?
36. THE 4-7-30-3 PRINCIPLE Sell-ability is what makes you from being ’employed’ to ’employable’. Do you know how to sell yourself? I train my students how to do it in 4 Seconds, 7 seconds, 30 seconds & 3 minutes – time slots
. Why? Because that is what works in order to succeed!
37. THE FUTURE OF COMMUNICATION? How well do you know the art of Blogging, Video Blogging & Social Media Marketing? This skill alone will make or break your brand.
38. WHO ARE YOU? How well do you know yourself? Rather let me rephrase it. How well do you know yourself to market yourself to stand out from the rest of the crowd so that when the employer hears about you – he jumps the gun and immediately decides – you are the one he must employ. Do you know yourself that well? If no is the answer – you seriously better stop everything and learn this skill first!
39. WALK IN MY SHOES! Do you know the art of how to think, communicate and negotiate from the Employers point of view? Almost every employee or job search candidate thinks from his point of view. If you can walk in the shoes of those whom you are dealing with – you will always succeed no matter what happens!
40. SIMPLE QUESTION FOR WHICH MANY SAY NO… Have you practised, rehearsed and absolutely mastered the art of the interview? Now before you become Dirty Harry and get ready to fire bullets of confidence in my direction – ask yourself this simple question – is your presentation so good that you could absolutely impress Mark Cuban or Sunder Pichai to employ you immediately? If your answer is still a resounding yes – Trust me – I would want to contact you for tips!
41. HOW TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE A PERFECT RESUME? Is your Resume perfect? Let me give you a method to evaluate if your Resume is perfect or not. Do this – Ask yourself – what is the salary that would keep you happy? Once you get this amount – Multiply this amount with 12 (12 months in a year). So for instance – if the salary you are looking for is USD $10,000, then multiply this with 12 months = USD $120,000. So now ask yourself – is this Resume that you are using to promote yourself – worth being paid USD $120,000?
42. THE MAGIC WORD – VASTAA In the Middle East, especially the United Arab Emirates, there is a magic word. It is called “Vastaa”. All it means is knowing the ‘God-Father’ who can help you get you what you want – anything from the job of your dreams to the promotion you assumed you deserve. So what is the point I am trying to make here? Simply this – Do you know the right contacts i.e. the decision makers who can make a decision and ensure you get the job right now? If you have only 5 – you will never be unemployed in your life. However, even after knowing 5, if you are still unemployed – it means you are unemployable.
43. THE MASTERMIND GROUP Do you have a circle of trust worthy, like-minded people who can add value to your brand? If not, create one. They are what Napoleon Hill once called ‘The Mastermind Group’. Here is an article by FORBES that would shed some light into what The Mastermind Group is all about.
44. SHARPEN THE SAW Do you dedicate at least 1 hour a day Sharpening a Key Skill that will make you employable? Don’t know what that means? Read Stephen Covey’s Sharpening Your Saw Principle.
45. STEVE JOBS, STEPHEN HAWKINGS & SUPERMAN HAD THIS SUPER POWER… What am I talking about? The ability to be absolutely and totally Obsessed about something. Now I am pretty aware that this would be looked upon in a negative light. After all – don’t we preach having a ‘balanced life’ and ‘keeping life in balance’? Fine. No arguments there. Do you assume any of the great legends of our world had such a luxury? Well, I have to be the bearer of bad news. It doesn’t work. So the question here is – Are you totally and absolutely obsessed about your Professional Growth? On a Scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) where do you rate yourself? And now – where do you think you should rate yourself if you had to get the job of your dreams?
46. TAKE A NEW KIND OF A VACATION… When was the last time you took a Professional Wellness Vacation – To Focus Strictly on your Professional Growth and Development? When will you plan to take it? What will you choose to develop during that time?
47. FIND OUT THE WEAKEST LINK IN THE CHAIN… No matter how strong a chain – do you know where it breaks off during pressure and stress? At its weakest link. Do you know the 3 key areas that need the most development and growth – the ones that can literally break you and cause hindrance to your career growth? (or are you assuming you know?)
48. YOUR BIGGEST FRIEND OR GREATEST ENEMY Are you aware of the fact that Your Immediate Boss can make or break your career prospects in your company? So is he on your side? Or rather – ask yourself – Is your boss someone whom you would like to be – one day? If not – you better change your boss and your company!
49. IS YOUR ORGANIZATIONAL YOUR COFFIN? Study your company management structure, hierarchy and history. Do you think there is a place for you to move, grow and evolve into? Or are you wasting your time for the next many years in the same position with the same package? And no matter how hard you work or how many hours you put in, the reality is – you will never grow further? If so, better change jobs and change it fast!
50. BE PRACTICAL Hope is NOT a strategy. In the same way Praying, doing Charity, or lighting candles to your favorite gods may give you a spiritual sense of fulfilment. However, it is NOT what will work in the real world. Be practical.
51. YOU THINK YOU ARE GOOD? REALLY? TRY THIS… Do you assume you are really good? Then apply to the top 5 competitors of your company and see their response. If they are ready to employ you and your services without a moment’s hesitation – you are indeed an Industry Leader. However, if they report you to your employer – chances are, no one wants to employ your sorry behind!
52. MONEY IS EVERYTHING! How much money do you have stored for a bad day? The thumb rule is to have 12 months salary kept in your bank account untouched – so that if and when you do lose your job – you can sit back, relax and regroup yourself after being laid off. And only after you have relaxed for a few days or weeks – go into an all out assault to finding your new job and position. They say money is not everything? Yeah Right. On the day you are without a job – you will take refuge knowing you have enough and more money resting in the bank for your access!
53. READ THIS SENTENCE 10 TIMES A DAY! Remember the key rule – Its not what you know. Its who you know. Read this again and again and again!
54.THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE MORE YOU DO NOT KNOW! Do you know how to Mass Unfollow everyone on Twitter? Do you know how to remove ALL your inactive friends on Facebook with a single click? Do you know how to increase your Google rankings in relation to your blog? Ask yourself – how much more you do not know – which you should be spending time learning!
55. IS THIS THE JOB OF YOUR DREAMS? Do you REALLY seriously, absolutely and vehemently love your job and what you do? If you don’t – PLEASE do yourself a favor – make a change. You just have one life to live. Stop living it doing what you do not love.
56. PENNY WISE, POUND FOOLISH? Its tempting to save money and redesign your Resume by yourself, practice interview skills by yourself and learn new skills by yourself. Right? Good strategy to save money – right? If Usain Bolt needs a Coach, If Floyd Mayweather needs a coach, If Mark Zuckerberg needs an Advisory Board – what about you? Oh yeah, I get the argument – you do not want to be “so great” like the rest. Then, please do me a favor. Stop reading this article all together and be happy being mediocre. Just as your job as a professional cannot be done by an amateur – stop assuming that you can suddenly wear the hat of being an Industry Professional that too in an industry you have no experience or expertise in.
57. BELIEVING YOUR OWN BS? Affirmations, Assertions, Positive Thinking – yes, this helps to a limit. However, when it crosses a certain limit – then it becomes an absolute liability. It serve no purpose being negative. Its okay to be positive. However, you must be realistic! An honest assessment of your situtation is very important. Stop lying to yourself. If wanting to change and improve is just a hope, wish, dream but you do not have the drive, desire and determination to do whatever it takes to put thought into action – then all you are tying to do – really hard – is create an illusion of change and feel good about it.
58. 3+3 COMBO! Time. Money. Effort. Three things you need to make change happen. Oh yes, did I mention Strategy, Consistency & Coaching?
59. DO WHAT THE BIG BOYS DO! Why do Global Brands need to constantly reinvent themselves? Why do Software Companies keep updating their software? Why does Facebook, Google and YouTube keep coming out with new features, products and services? Think about it. And then ask yourself – what about you? What new products or services can you come out with that will make you relevant to the market?
60. YOUR REAL COMPETITION… GET READY TO BE SURPRISED! Facebook, Google, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat – None of these must-have necessary addictions existed in your college days. Today’s youngsters are being introduced to this world as young as 6 years old. So the question here begets – how future proof are you for the next 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? Are you ready to face tomorrow’s generation when they compete with you head along?
61. THE MASTERY YOU NEED! Social Media & Software Mastery – Do you have it? No? Seriously No? OMG! Are you for real? Given that today our entire lives are under the microscopic lens of the world – how can you choose to ignore this avenue?
62. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS = PPPRRRTTTTBBBBBB! Proud Of Your Educational Qualifications & Degrees? Really? Go show them to a few potential employers and ask them – “Hey Boss – Isn’t this impressive? Based on this – how much salary increase or promotions can I get?”… Remember – Unless of course it is from an Ivy League School – The answer your potential employers will give you – will give you a reality check you need.
63. MAKE GOOGLE YOUR BEST FRIEND! Want to know how searchable or noticeable you are? Google your name. See what you get. If someone cannot find you easily and in large numbers – how exactly would be you noticeable or credible?
64. LAW OF AVERAGES! Follow the law of averages. If you connect with 100 new contacts – chances are 5 to 10 will become the pivotal reason for your success. So what is your current target per month?
65. WE ARE A PRODUCT OF OUR HABITS! Look at your past – say for the past 5 years or 10 years in any particular endeavor and evaluate yourself. Chances are, you will repeat the same pattern for the rest of your life.
66. HOW VALUABLE YOU ARE TO YOUR COMPANY – THE ACID TEST! If you were to resign from your company – would your employer accept it or fight & negotiate with you to ensure you stay? The answer to this question would show how important you are to the Industry at large. Or in a micro sense – how valuable you are to your own company.
67. CHANGE IS PAINFUL, POWERFUL & A PLUS POINT! Maybe you need to change everything about and I mean everything. Have you thought about how that can impact your life – if you changed everything? However, keep this in mind – its not just external that has to change – you from inside also must.
68. YOUR VALUES – ARE THEY GOOD FOR YOU? They say – Live your life according to your values. However, if you are not happy with your life right now – its time you had a serious look into your own life and ask yourself – which values you need to change.
69. WHAT WE CAN LEARN FROM THE WRESTLERS! Have you noticed the World Wresting Entertainment? For every Undertaker, there is a John Sena, for ever HHH, there is The Rock. Did you notice – all of them have a different costume, walk-in music, storyline, finishing move, style of doing this and presentation? Ever asked yourself why? The day you get the answer to this question – and yes, implement the answer – you will become the most successful person in your industry.
70. THE MOST IMPORTANT TIME OF YOUR LIFE The 1st 3 hours of your life after you wake up – are the most productive ones in your life. How do you spend the 1st 3 hours of the morning after waking up? Dressing Up + Staying stuck in Traffic + Reading Emails? And you expect amazing changes to take place in your life?
71. WHAT ARE YOUR S.M.A.R.T GOALS? Do you have a target for yourself this year? Do you have a master goal? Have you broken this goal for the next 12 months into breakable, achievable chunks? In fact – do you know what you are supposed to achieve this week? If not – what are you doing? Where are you headed? What do you want in life? Can you quantify it, measure it and evaluate it?
72. TAKING SMALL RISKS AND FREQUENT ONES! Practice taking small risks early on in life and take them frequently. The more risks you take, the better you will be at knowing what works and doesn’t work. Never ever ever be happy just being and doing the same.
73. CONSTANT AND NEVER ENDING IMPROVEMENT This year I have invested in one of the top online coaches for my online presence, Graphic Designing Course to learn how to digitally animate my photographs (which I use rampantly on Social Media), Video Animation Course (as I use YouTube frequently) and also enrolled for a language school in Koh Samui to learn Thai. All this cost me a lot of money. So what are you striving to learn? How much money are you planning to invest?
74. SACRIFICE (NOT THE ELTON JOHN ONE) Without Sacrifices you can achieve nothing. With prioritising your time to focus on your goals – you cannot achieve anything. So what are you ready to prioritise and sacrifice in order to reach your goals?
75. THE BEST ADVICE I EVER RECEIVED! My friend Dave Ross (1991 World Champion of Public Speaking for Toastmasters International) said this one quote “I will never let anyone outwork me.” This is a principle I have followed to heart which has been the foundation to my success. Apply it and trust me – it will work wonders for you.
76. WINSTON CHURCHILL SAID THIS… Never Ever Ever Ever Ever Ever Ever Give Up. When you keep at something – you will succeed at some point. Agreed there will be ups and downs – but if you are truly committed to achieving your goal – chances are – you will succeed it at.
77. THE DANGERS OF EARLY SUCCESSES There is one danger I must warn you about – Early Success. Or Succeeding in itself. It can give you a false sense of confidence and infallibility. I have seen it happen to many people. Do not assume that just because you have succeed once or a few times or in a particular endeavor – you will succeed at everything or always.

Most probably – the same story may repeat itself with you.
