It annoys me how so much of modern discourse around female characters is, to be frank, misogyny repackaged as being progressive.
If a woman's strengths and interests are associated with being feminine, such as cooking or enjoying nice clothes or being kind and compassionate, the entire fandom jumps on her as stereotypical or weak. It's seen as cool to bash on "women's work", never mind that your average misogynist has been doing it for decades, hell, centuries, and the jobs that are mocked as women's work are actually pretty essential to humans surviving and thriving.
And then, of course, if a woman shows the slightest hint of nonconformity, the entire fandom jumps on her because "oh!! she's trying to be not like other girls!! she wants male attention so bad!!" It doesn't matter how she is to the other girls in her life, if she wears combat boots and listens to punk instead of Taylor Swift, she clearly hates every other woman ever according to certain parts of fandom. It couldn't be that she's neurodivergent or LGBT or hell, even just a tomboy, she has to hate every other girl on the planet. /sarcasm
AND JUST TO CLARIFY. These tropes can genuinely be negatively done. The traditionally feminine girl can be a weak character and the tomboy girl can be an ass. But when you're calling a girl a "pick me" just because she doesn't live up to your idea of what a woman should look like or what you think feminism is... congratulations. You've simply repackaged sexism and called it woke. And lots of girls who see this crap online are going to suffer for it but hey, it was never actually about them, so who cares, right? /sarcasm
Anyway, to all the girls reading this post, you go ahead and be who you want. Be a princess or a president or a pop singer or a punk rocker or hell, all of the above. You're not a "pick me" you're not a "handmaiden" you're not trying too hard to be "not like other girls". You are fine. Don't let pseudo-woke nonsense get to you. It's just white noise.

OOOH BABY THIS ONE WAS A LONG TIME COMING.
NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE!!
YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A DAY LIKE ANY OTHER. A DAY OF ADVENTURE WITH YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS. OH HOW TIGHTLY YOU HOLD THEM TO YOUR CHEST, AND OH HOW TERRIFYING IT IS TO WATCH THEM GET EVISCERATED BY SOMETHING YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. MAYBE IF YOU JUST LISTENED A BIT MORE, IF YOU LET THE SMART ONE LEAD THE CHARGE, THIS WOULDNT HAVE HAPPENED. ONCE AGAIN YOUR IMPULSIVENESS LEADS TO DISASTER.
HEAR ME NOW, YOUNG TIDESTRIDER, YOUR STUPIDITY WILL BRING THE DEMISE OF EVERYTHING YOU WERE BORN AND FORGED TO PROTECT. HOW COULD THE PROPHECY HAVE CHOSEN SOMEONE SO USELESS?
I BET YOU WISH YOU CHOSE THE RIGHT LEVER.
FAILURE.

Hiiii, your art is gongeous first off
Second, you have any tips for getting good at anatomy and proportion? I see your sketches from your wips and streams and the figures and poses look so spot on always
thank you!!!
the best way to get better at anatomy and proportion is to do some life studies. there are a lot of sites you can use that will give you (generally) good poses to work with. if its at all possible for you though i Definitely recommend taking a life drawing course. one of my favorite classes was the life drawing class i took where i was the Only actual student in the class and everyone else were people in their 60s+ just taking it for fun. my prof was incredible and would give us really great demonstrations and knowledge about skeletal and muscular structures. also the models we got in class were way more diverse than a lot of the models online sites use
life studies can be hard when you first start though. it really helps to understand sighting (which is where you use your pen/fingers to figure out angles and sizes and stuff). heres a more detailed explanation
i did some figure studies the other day and i left a lot of my sighting lines. i use them not only to figure out the angles of limbs but also to help me keep things in proportion. ALSO watch your negative spaces!! that will help you get forms/proportion right too
there are also a lot of "proportion rules" that can help you when just drawing bodies without a reference. A Lot of rules.... the face alone has So many..
when i draw figures without a reference (which is..most of the time..) i think in terms of tubes. really helps with foreshortening (so do contour lines). but i still operate under the guidelines i learned from life drawing in terms of proportions/muscle/bone structure. ive gotten to the point where i just eyeball it while sketching but if something looks wrong i just check my proportions. the more you do it the more second nature it becomes which helps you focus on learning new parts of anatomy. i usually draw these figures first then just draw clothes over them, which then helps with folds/draping and stuff like that
i hope this is understandable lol............ these are all just the vague rules i remember im sure theres so many more and i am still learning myself but i hope this helps you get started. trying to find good proportion sheets/tips online can be hard and just result in some really basic stuff like the 7/8 heads tall rule which is sometimes 7.5 and i just 😵 not helpful, especially since its not even always correct. i still basically use the same general rule but slightly modified (in red). in green are some proportion rules i know (plus a couple in red), and in blue is just a little more detail
again if you have the opportunity at all i Really recommend taking a life drawing class. you might be able to find some good videos on youtube or something too. ALSO look at yourself in the mirror a lot! like really analyze yourself, the length of your limbs, where your hands fall, how wide your shoulders are, stuff like that. just Look. whenever im stuck on a pose i always go and pose in a mirror for reference. in general im always just trying to learn from the world around me :)

and honestly, the heart of art isnt technical skill or vision or anything that takes skill or ability, not to me. I dont think to most people.
I think the heart of art is loving life and hating it as you can only hate something you love with all your heart. and in how you see what you are in how you live and relate to others and the world as it meets you.
i really feel like something godlike wheel knocks over some hump in the road within me and moves like floating on air, and i feel lighter, i feel kinship with the wind when someone likes a thing i did that i felt was a bit petulant or childish or crude or tasteless or just lacking in something substantial or something to care about. not only in "art" art but also in telling jokes, which i think it why tumblr is the best art website to me
because of the jokes, the kind you just tell and sometimes people really like it and its never the ones you really like and its all just so artistic this place where i can say anything and literally a few people whose opinions i vaguely value somewhere in the background see it and ignore it for any number of reasons that are perfectly fine and like literally it takes so much of the pressure off.
i think that's art, making a joke you only kinda like and nobody liking it enough to muster a little half-hearted chuckle. and i would die to relive that moment over and over no matter how humiliating it always feels no matter what, because its fine. that's what love is, is genuinely not caring if someone finds you funny, but still just hanging around

Does Tashi have the memories upto the kerberos mission or before the mission? (Also love that he's being 'I do not see' about the entire clone thing, love that for him)
Im not really sure about it tbh! The option i'm leaning the most into is that he has Shiro's memories up to a few months/weeks before the mission. It just makes everything so much worse for him beacuse he doesnt even know about Shiro and Adam' Whole Thing.
For him it looks like one moment he was preparing for the biggest mission of his life and the next thing he knows, he wakes up surrounded by dozens of fucking corpses who look like him why do they all look like him
also i like to headcanon that the reason for why there were so many of the clones there is bc those are the failed attempts - discarded bc of mistakes in the cloning process or failed memory transfers or something(most of em were propably braindead or unable to survive)(dont ask me how the guys even survived falling from however high that place was. that's not importrant)
Tashi knows something's wrong from the beginning - some of his memories are disjointed or missing, there are names and places he should remember but he doesnt, and they all feel distant - but he pushes all his doubts and suspicions deep down beacuse there are people who need him here.
pretty much the same goes for taks and taka too! all three of them came to a mutual understanding that its best to just try and not to mention the fact they have the exact same name and life stories. theres more importrant things to think about like, y'know, not dying!!
Thank you for the ask!
